LensCrafters in other cities:
Lens Crafters Colonie in Albany, NY claim they take Aetna Insurance for your eye exam. You pay the copays at time of visit and assume they are reputable. When you receive the bill breakdown from Aetna it is clear that you have been overcharged. This has happened two years in a row. I will be going elsewhere from now on.
Thank you so much for making replacing my Ray Ban glasses so unbelievably easy! These are the best glasses I’ve ever owned over the years, but the lens came apart from the frame. I called and Monica saved the day and ordered a replacement pair I got today (all in a matter of days). Thanks again
I broke my frames this morning and went to Lenscrafters on my lunch break without an appointment. Fortunately, they still carry my frames and had them in stock. They quickly assembled my glasses and were thoughtful enough to ask whether I have AAA. I do and that saved me $50. Great customer service! Very happy!
I had an eye exam today and it was a great experience for me. The Doctor was professional, and friendly. He didnt rush through the exam, and he answered my questions without making me feel like I was bothering him. The other staff members were the same way, and provided excellent customer service. It was refreshing. I highly recommend LensCrafters.
My experience with Lens Crafters was a first and, from start to finish, this was a class act. The Optometrist down to the Opticians, I was treated, with concern, my eye sight, cared for. The prices along with my insurance was more than reasonable. The opticians were very Friendly and respectful. I will be returning yearly. ⭐️⭐️
I would like to acknowledge the total awesomeness of Rachel. She is a true professional of her craft. She has great knowledge and is cheerful and very helpful. If you want great service and expertise ask for her by name. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Rachel you are simply the best.
I received excellent care from the staff at Lenscrafters in Colonie. Kathryn was professional, courteous, and attentive. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the large selection but the care she provided made it easy to choose a new set of frames. She was patient with me and explained all options, different types of lenses, and the benefits of the warranty as she went over the pricing. Next time I need new glasses Ill shop here first!
Came here to do a Eye Exam, best experience I have had thus far. Staff members were very welcoming, explained details and promotions. Met with Doctor Andrew Gutmaker he was very professional calm and patient with me. I highly recommend visiting this Lenscrafters location and seeing Doctor Andrew.
I worked with Colleen and was really happy with my decision to do so. I had been to another Lenscrafters and while the staff was nice, unfortunately I didnt feel I fully understood my prescription. As a first time buyer it really meant a lot to me that Colleen took the time to break down my prescription and what I should expect from my glasses. There was a few other hiccups but we were able to work through that and I am very satisfied with my purchase!
I recently purchased both a new pair of tri-focals and prescription sunglasses. I was assisted by Kathy at the Colonie Center LenscraftersShe was incredibly patient and helpful with my selecting the appropriate frames. She gave me her opinion and helped me compare my options. Once I made up my mind, she explained all the options and pricing very clearlyIt was a most pleasant experience
First, my appointment was easy to make using the online scheduler. I was able to make an appoint for less than 24 hours later. Second, I had less than a 5 minute wait in total between check-in, exam and glasses consult. Third, the person I worked with Connor was extremely knowledgeable in the stores inventory and deals so I would get the best products for my dollars. I was able to walk out with 3 pairs of glasses for a very reasonable price. Everyone I spoke with was very professional and very courteous. I appreciate all that you did for me! This is why I keep coming back to this location.
My initial experience is very pleasant ,prompt and professional .Greeted By Ms. Alecia ,my appointment was confirmed. The forms that were sent and e signed aided Ms. Alecia in directing me to the preliminary but very essential aspects of my eye exam. She Helped me to feel comfortable and informed with these three phases of the exam. Very poised and knowledgeable with the preliminary and business aspect of the exam. Thank YOU again Ms. ALECIA.THE Quality of service that was typified by Dr.Gutmaker was extremely thorough ,explaining the significants of each of the preliminary phases of the eye exam that was executed accurately . Dr. Gutmaker optomerty applications are above and beyond..His knowledge remains consistent throughout the yrs I have been under his care .His knowledge and application are Thorough. Thank You Dr.A Gutmaker Thank you for caring.Thank you Lenscraters for these assets.
Connor Bosselman was very professional and knowledgeable; he was instrumental my eye glass journey and provided me with great feedback ensuring i selected the correct frames for not only my face shape but fames that support my prescription needs (-6.5). 10/10 highly recommend 🤓👓
Cat the doctors technician was absolutely amazing she’s by far one of the best lens crafters was able to get me into a virtual appointment with a doctor and cat was assisting from in office while the doctor was working at home and with here being the face of the customers while the doctor is at home she was absolutely amazing great positive attitude you could tell she really enjoys her job which give a positive response to customers by far one of the best appointments I have EVER had at a doctors office she was personable and made me laugh the entire way I’m very impressed with me just moving to the area and trying to find a good store to find glasses at LensCrafters have been amazing and has always been my first choice but cat by far made this store in specific my new first choice when choosing where to complete my vision and a special thanks to her and Connor bosselman for getting me in to this appointment last minute and working with me to get me prescriptions sent over from my last location at visionworks
I had an appointment at 5 p.m. I was checked in right away at 4:55 p.m. My total appointment time-finished and check-out was completed at 6:12p.m. The optician was assertive and polite, engaging in small conversation and helpful with a couple questions that I had regarding contacts and glasses. The sales associate was friendly and knowledgeable. While waiting to be seen by the optician, I was able to decide on a pair of frames. That helped in the end, or the appointment would have been longer if I waited until afterwards.Going over the lenses was pretty fast and efficient and checking out was easy. Overall great experience and considerable cost efficient with my insurance (Eye Med.)
Having purchased a pair of prescription glasses from Lens Crafters about a month ago, I went back to purchase a pair of sunglasses. The associate, Colleen was helpful, friendly, and professional. Colleen took the time to answer all of my questions and make recommendations based on what I needed. It was a pleasure to work with Colleen and certainly will keep me coming back to Lens Crafters.
The front desk staff was extremely efficient and friendly. Ellen and Fondlee took extra time and successfully completed my order even though the computer system gave them a hard time. They should be commended for their hard work and dedication to making sure the customer was happy. Thank you for a pleasant experience.
Very professional staffs. They are very thorough about assisting their customers. I was little skeptical about tele appointment but it went well. The store has COVID protocols in place, and it is managed very well. The store is out of network for my insurance but they filed the claim for me, which was great 👍.Everything was explained to me in details.I definitely recommend this place.
At LensCrafters, they know what theyre doing! Every person I dealt with at my visit was knowledgeable and pleasant. The doctor pointed out some very minor issues in my eye that could turn into something more concerning, and he let me know what the signs would be if it gets worse and needs attention. I will never go anywhere else for glasses. They understand customer service.
I needed a new pair of glasses by the end of the week. Not only did I receive a great eye exam, determining that a new prescription was definitely needed, but I also received my designer, progressive lens glasses within one hour. I was amazed at how well I could see and how comfortable the new glasses were. I will definitely be returning. The staff were very professional and helpful.
After 20 years of wearing glasses, the *terrible* customer service at this lenscrafters location finally inspired me to get LASIK.The DR. at this location gave me the *Wrong Prescription*. They ordered glasses for me based on this wrong prescription that broke within two weeks....They didnt refund me pursuant to the 30 day return policy despite the defects on the glasses.
Lenscrafters gave excellent service, and was very professional. They helped me pick out frames that would fit and in the styles & colors that I like. There were many frames to choose from. I had been to several other stores, but Lenscrafters was the best. Would definitely recommend them.
We were dealt with professionally and friendly through the Covid protocol. Then our special situation with broken eyeglass frames was responded to when Michelle found frames to fit my existing lens. We also were able to use our AAA discount. Needless to say we are very happy!
Within the past 2 weeks Ive had 2 appointments. 1 eye exam and 1 contact fitting. Both noon appointment s, both times they failed to get me in before 1230.. not sure why they even make appointments if they arent going to do them properly. There are 3 clients at 8 workers, yet theyre behind. Then when ordering contacts, good luck they dont help.
Have been trying to obtain an appointment for contacts for my son since June. Initially brought in for glasses prescription and told not enough staff for contact fitting, have had clinic cancelled appointments due to staffing since and then ultimately we scheduled an appointment in person and found to never have been made by the staff at the time when we arrived after waiting weeks. It’s unfortunate as my son was looking forward to this next step and is now resigned to just glasses as he is even tired of the multiple attempts. The staff is kind, but the disorganization in this circumstance has been frustrating.
If I could go lower in ratings I would. 1st off I was under the impression my glasses should b done in hour while I made my appt. Thats actually 7 to 10 business days because I choose to get the free lenses in which my insurer covers. Not the 180 dollar lenses they had in stock which would also take 2 to 3 days to make. Another thing was my insurer covered my eye exam but this place still robs for a 15 dollar co pay in which the staff cant explain why. They have these doctors talk to you through video chat but one doctors internet service sucked so it took a bit of time. In which that doctor only came on to suggest I buy expense lenses. Felt like a rip off here...I advise any and everyone to go elsewhere.
Im done with the Colonie Center Lens Crafters. I have been a customer for several years and have spent hundreds of dollars on frames and lenses there. When I walked into the store today and asked to have my glasses tightened the manager abruptly informed me to take a seat and that it would be at least 15 minutes before I could be helped. There were no other customers in the store. Apparently, I had to wait for a doctor to adjust my glasses. Really? Ive been there before and pretty sure that a salesperson assisted me with this in the past. Whatever. This is the second time that Ive been on the receiving end of this particularly arrogant manager. I reluctantly waited and a doctor eventually arrived and tightened my glasses. I politely asked the receptionist (who is actually polite) for a copy of my prescription. Ill be taking my business elsewhere.
I purchased a pair of frames online and walked into lens crafters to get lenses. The lady that greeted me asked me where did I purchase the frames with a strange look. After I told her online she rolled her eyes and signaled for another sales rep to come over while they both whispered as they looked at the frames. They eventually passed them to a third sales rep to assist me while the first two reps continued to whisper. Not sure what they were discussing but it made me feel very strange.... almost like as if I had Stole the frames.I just purchased a full set from the same store 3-4 weeks ago with my Lens crafters credit card! And also used my lens crafters credit card the other day when purchasing lenses for the frames I purchased online. I was Also in full uniform on my way to work.I work for an airline so my full name was visible on my badge and name tag. I’m saying all of this because she treated me as if she was suspicious of either me or the frames. Who in their right mind doing anything shady would go into a store using their store credit and wear their complete work uniform??I was Extremely disappointed and I wonder if she would react in that manner if I were a different race. Just a thought ....Please have your sales associates act more professional. Maybe hold secret conversations where they need to whisper in private. That made me uncomfortable enough to where I’ll make my future purchases elsewhere.
If youre planning on visiting LensCrafters in Colonie, buckle your seat belt before you go. I should probably say that my two prior experiences (before today) with this outlet were GREAT. The staff was helpful. The managers were nice. The selection of frames was good. Today? Total. Opposite. I walked in (with an appointment) to find my name crossed off in the book. Oh, yeah, the woman at the counter said. We didnt call you? You exam and frames arent covered. Nope, you didnt call me. But thanks for the tour of Colonie Centers parking lot. Turns out my insurance has been dropped by LensCrafters--and they just, you know, kinda neglected to tell me.I went to Barnes & Noble to stew. Then I went back and said, Hey, can I just order contacts on my old prescription and get my lenses popped into new frames? (Im not making this up: the Rotterdam location had done this for me before. Sad to see them go.) Sure, the counter woman says, we can do both of those things. So, I ask how much contacts are. Theyre four hundred and fifty bucks for a years worth. How much for six months worth? I say. Three hundred and forty bucks, they answer. WHUH? How does THAT math work?At least they fixed it. I swipe my card, pay for the contacts, all done. Wait, says the woman at the counter, did your address change? Not since the last time I was here, it didnt. Turns out they didnt put my info in from the last time I was here, though, so my contacts are going to an address I havent lived at in three years. Not to worry, though: the counter staff wrote in BIG SHARPIE on the purchase order: Make sure this goes to the right place. Couldnt have solved the problem better myself.Oh, and during this whole thing, the woman says things like, Im going to quit my job, and I give up, and I dont know how to do this. Then, the sales guy on the floor says No, actually, we cant swap your lenses. So those glasses you got here less than a year ago? The ones that disintegrated? You can either get those exact ones again, or pay out of pocket for the entire cost of frames and lenses. Thanks for the help, but no.Left as fast as possible, went home, about my merry way, had a sandwich, get a call two and a half hours later from the same counter person: Crap! Your contacts are going to the wrong address. Can we get your card numbers again? Are you serious?
This place is the worst. I had purchased a one year eye protection warrantee for $34.99 when I bought glasses from LensCrafters at Woodbury Common. They ensured me that the warrantee could be covered if my glasses broke, and would be good at any LensCrafters location. When I brought my broken glasses to this location (Colonie Center), they said sorry, we are on a different computer system. They didnt offer any help for my problem, even when I asked if there was anything that I could do. I went a few miles away, to CrossGates Mall, and they were happy to help and professional. The manager at this location is poorly trained and should not be doing anything related to customer service. Ill attach a copy of her card to this email so people can avoid being mistreated like I was.
I have been a patient of LenCrafters in Colonie center for close to 20 years. For 20 years, I have experienced horrible customer service, treated as they were doing me a favor every time I was in their office. Almost every appointment I have ever had, I waited at least 30 minutes to get after showing up on time or early to my appointment. The retail staff this location hires is god awful. If you can avoid going to this place, you will be doing yourself a great favor. They are rude, incompetent and disrespectful. This is one company I could see not being around in the near future.
Make sure the charges are right before you pay. They will say 15$ co pay for eye exam. But the $15 really is for retinal imaging.Crossgates location clearly explained we can either do retinal imaging or dilation. Its the customer wish. But they dont mention this to customer in this location and directly charge 15$15$ is not a big money. But the real problem is I should know what I am paying for.
Having been going here for 3 years. Invested in a very expensive pair of glasses and bought the protection plan to cover them for 1 year. When I tried to use the protection plan, I was told they could not replace my frames, just the lenses. That is not how the protection plan was SOLD to me, and the frames were the most expensive part of this transaction. The cost of the frames was the whole reason I bought the protection plan to begin with. They no longer carried the frame (not my problem, THOSE frames were still supposed to be covered) and they offered to style me in a frame that was comparable in price. (There are none in the store that expensive anymore.) I bought a FULL protection plan and got PARTIAL coverage. I feel scammed. They were not helpful in trying to remedy this situation at all. DO NOT DO BUSINESS AT THIS LOCATION.
The employee was nice but I was not provided with the box or certificate of authenticity on a Tiffany frame purchase. Kind of disconcerting to be honest not to have all given that should have with such an expensive purchase.Wherever you go, their lenses suck. But their frame selection is phenomenal so I like being able to at least buy some there (they have some recently discontinued), but I do believe that all that should come with the glasses should come with them even from the sales floor. Also the case they gave me had a rip inside. Small but yeah, over 300$ on just frames I should have gotten everything.Be aware their premium AR is Crizal easy, I would think premium would be sapphire 360 but they don’t offer it nor do they offer transitions xtractive or trivex or 1.60 hi index (instead of 1.67 since the abbe value is better) or any of that. Even vision works offers this.Anyways, good place to try on and buy frames, wouldn’t get their lenses at the cost, not worth it. But something should be done about making sure a purchaser gets all the pertinent authenticity documentation and such when buying designer frames.
Staff was friendly and accommodating, however whoever is writing the Rx for the optometrist is a foreigner who doesnt know their left from right. The day i got my glasses i couldnt even read the large signS on the side of the road! My husband’s glasses werent right. We visited there 3 times, the 3rd visit the optometrist rechecked my eyes and then told the manager to check it against what was written! BINGO! As we sat at the counter others came in with the same complaint! Nothing was done to correct this for me until the 3rd visit. They had to fix my lenses 2 x and my husbands 1x. Still unhappy with the results, we went to an ophthalmologist. After an exam my glass Rx was changed. I took the new Rx back to lens crafters and I was told by the manager, you will have to pay for this! ,I said I am not paying for this, you are obligated to fix this! she said i will take away your insurance, and for my sunglasses, she took away the Ray Ban, and i got no money back! One Star is way too much credit for the incompetence that me and my husband had to endure! Listen closely- Lensruiners! hire people that can read and write English! Hire better managers! Get it right or get out of dodge! Either way -We will never come back to that store!
People generally only write reviews to complain. I have been going here for 4 years and received nothing but great service. The glasses I bought here 4 years ago are still in perfect shape and they will adjust them for free. Routine eye exams are cheap. Eat your veggies.
Talked with a person named Heather. Very rude and would sigh when asked to assist me with pricing over the phone. Seems like her time is more important in till I tell the person that Im disabled. If you hate your job so much dont work at a place that medical patients use.
Liers & unprofessional staffThey confirmed that they accept our insurance, so i and my 8 y old and my husband got eye exam at their facility, So my boy and husband select glasses, the total charge was $400 for a pair insurance doesnt cover anything so we didnt get any glasses BUT !!! We got charge for the exam $125 , so i asked where is insurance part ??? Guess what!!!!! ONLY $5 , we pais $125 dollars because they hve stupid staff who have no knowledge at all
Just an FYI. Dr Martin Kipp, (me) isnt there anymore. 19.5 years was enough. The staff has all turned over so I dont know how it is now. Just wanted to post this in case anyone cares. Thanks for reading. ...if you like reading there is Barnes and Noble in that mall. BTW , Im at Sterling Optical now.

2022-09-16Beautiful frames and wonderful lenses at a great price. The service I received was wonderful too...much better than other places I have been. I worked with several staff members throughout the process and they worked seamlessly together to create a great experience. I will come back definitely the next time I need glasses.

2022-05-18I went into the local Lensecrafter because I lost a nose pad. When I walked in the door, I was greeted and I just showed them the glasses and I didn’t say a word. They instantly said that I was missing the nose pad. They put 2 new nose pads on my glasses, cleaned the lenses and the glasses are nice and comfortable again. They were very responsive. Thank you for the great service!

2022-08-02Colleen at LensCrafters is wonderful! One of the screws in my glasses came out with the lens and I did not know how to fix it myself! I went into Lens Crafters just to see if they can repair them and Colleen helped me, even though she was about to leave out! She was very nice and professional! And made sure my glasses looked right on my face before leaving! Thank you so much Colleen definitely a lifesaver 🤍🫶🏾

2022-06-16Colleen & Casey were a pleasure to work with, while clearly short staffed, they were able to accommodate me soon as I stepped through the door. Planned on just looking around but ended up leaving with my new favorite pair of glasses. Overall great experience.

2022-09-14The staff was not accommodating and not understanding. They cancelled my appointment without even calling or notifying me. I came from an hour drive with bad weather, zero visibility on the road due to rain and flooding everywhere. They said i shouldve call. Well, at that moment, the last thing i would do is to call, why? Because my priority is my safety! I am more focused on how i will go to this appointment safe and my risk my life! When i got there, the staff was just not open minded, she keeps talking about the form, about the cancellation.m, and not listening to what I am saying. I have been to optical clinics not just here in the US but also abroad, but this is the worst clinic I have been! I am not going back to LensCrafters Colonie branch again! Never ever!

2022-03-23I went to Lens Crafters Colonie to purchase an additional pair of glasses. The associate who worked with me was Connor Bosselman. I found him to be very informative, very patient, and well informed about the frames. I was looking for a particular shape of frame, and Connor showed me the choices in that model as well as suggested another frame that I had not considered. His choice was very appropriate an also very attractive. I appreciated that he made a suggestion to me. I thanked him and told him that he has good judgment, probably because he looks at people in frames/glasses all day.My experience was great and I recommend Connor.

2022-04-25I was taken care of by Colleen. She was very helpful and found the best discount for me (either AAA or my insurance). SHE also helped me in picking out a frame. Excellent customer service.
