Went only to see the upper falls. Quite soothing and nice view. Hoping to head back to explore rest of the park soon. (Entry after 5pm was free)
Grand Canyon of the east! Awesome place to visit. They keep improving things but there is always more repairs to be done. The legacy stone stairs and trails are extensive. I would give it a five if they got the repairs done.
Amazing amazing amazing. Its a gem of a park for the whole family. Very accessible to the major attractions and also the facilities are really nice. The falls are amazing & mesmerizing. Truly spectacular.

Great setting under the bridge, worth visiting the park by itself
This is the postcard spot of Letchworth, if you’re looking for the famous backdrop. Although Inspiration Point is just as famous a backdrop. Beautiful view and easy trail to the vista point.
If youre looking to get a partcularly spectacular view of just the upper falls, the eastern side of the canyon provides a few wonderful views along trail #7.

This park allows you to both walk or drive to a lot of the sights. I went during the middle of the week in October (slight rain) and practically had the park to myself.
Great location to take amazing pictures.. I do recommend going there after it rains near sunset. Check out my picture.

Beautiful place to visit need to walk a lot. But there is much to explore. Cabins in C section allow pets, they have a fridge heat no air conditioner. Windows open 80.00 to 90.00 a night. Basic cabins but ok.
Spent an afternoon here with my boyfriend. We saw three amazing waterfalls and got some serious exercise climbing up and down all the stairs to get to the falls.
Beautiful place! It really is the Grand Canyon of the east! A true must see.
Great park. Great dining in season at the Glen Iris Inn. First time going? Don’t miss the Letchworth Museum near the inn.
The fall weather was perfect for taking our dogs for a hike and the trails here are great. The trail and stairs to the top of the gorge always a challenge but a great work out. I would recommend this area of the park whether youre into stairs or not.

Great falls! Currently upper falls is closed due to construction, but the middle falls was amazing. Lower falls was cool too, but couldnt get quite as close. Entered the northern side of the park near the dam and worked our way down... which is totally the way to do it as the sights/overlooks just keep getting better and better. Definitely worthwhile and cant wait to go back in the fall when the trees are changing colors!
Amazing waterfall
Amazing views and most can be seen from the comfort of your car or with a very small walk down the trail. They also had very clearly marked trails with good services and bathroom availability.
Last to see at Letchworth park is the Upper Falls, but the view is not last. The train bridge above has a walkway for pedistrians. It replaced an old bridge made out of wood (having walked on the old one I can say it is a good thing they replaced it.) If you are willing to climb/hike a half mile up hill from the upper Falls you can see the beautiful view from an impressive height. The river is the Genesee, which is one of the few major rivers that flow North in the world on the Northern Hemisphere. The Nile being the other one. The parking here is quite close to the Falls and elderly do not have to hike up or down but a few feet here on nice paths. Well worth the trip. Dogs are allowed, but I wouldnt recommend them on the bridge.
Meeting my family (I was adopted)so meeting my family for the first time. This was the most memorable experience in my life the falls were beautiful. We all had so much fun there hope to visit again soon. I have some pictures of my family members having a good time.
Iconic nature scenes. A photographer’s dream. Paved trail along the gorge from middle to upper falls. Marked trails through the woods. Don’t miss the museum and Glen Iris Inn at the middle falls.
With the upper section reopened after the railroad bridge replacement, this park offers some of the finest gorge and waterfall views around; add in a meal at the Glen Iris Inn to round out the experience.
We had an amazing time exploring this park! We will definitely come back on Fall to see the picturesque foliage. It’ll be gorgeous!
Beautiful place to hike and get back to nature. I enjoyed walking some of the trails to the falls and looking at the scenery. Would recommend to anyone wanting to spend time outdoors.

Letchworth State Park is a jewel of a park! The waterfalls, hiking, and history are totally worth a whole day or more! The only negative was there is not good signage from the river trail to the Visitor Center.
Beautiful Falls a fairly strenuous hike down. If this is an issue park at the middle Falls and its a relatively flat walk to the upper falls.
A wonderful place to visit while in the area. Beautiful scenery; and a gem hidden from larger crowds seen elsewhere in the region. One of the most beautiful spots in NY state.

Letchworth is great you have a park thats 18 miles in length covers several different counties several trails endless activity balloon launch area swimming pool couldnt ask for anything better

If you want to relax and be in touch with nature, I recommend you visit it.
A beautiful place, you can only reach the waterfalls through the southern entrance but it is recommended to devote at least half a day to the whole park
A nice spot in the park. It is only a few meters from the parking lot to the waterfall. Further hikes are possible there.

2022-04-19Great park. Went to the southern end to see the gorge falls. Beautiful falls at multiple viewing areas. Very easily spend the entire day visiting the park. Lots of trails.

2021-07-22Out of the three falls, lower falls is the most beautiful with a bridge and good steps to climb down.Upper falls is good but nothing special other than the bridge that makes it look different. Moreover, there is a steel stairs if you hike from middle falls. There is a parking lot if you don’t want to hike the steps.Lower falls is the most beautiful one with some hikes, River on the bridge and sliding water from the rocks. The steps were muddy due to rains. So, be prepared for it.If you love hiking, you can park your car at Inspiration point and hike to middle falls and upper falls. It took about 1.5 hours for me - both ways.And then drive to lower falls to park and hike down to the falls. Highly recommended if you are in the park.

2021-10-28The Upper Falls of the Genesee River was one of three major waterfalls on the Genesee River in Letchworth State Park. This waterfall was actually just a short distance upstream of the Middle Falls. The bridge was said to have originally opened in 1852 as the highest wooden railroad bridge at the time at 234ft above the Upper Falls of the Genesee River while spanning 850ft across the gorge.Of course the current bridge that we saw was made of iron as the original wooden one was said to have burned down in 1875 under “suspicious circumstances.”This rebuilt railroad bridge was definitely active and still in use as it was said to link Buffalo and Hornell courtesy of the Erie Railroad Company.The walk from the car park that served both the Upper and Middle Falls was merely a couple of minutes uphill along a concrete path flanked by a lawn on one side and a concrete barricade on the other.There was a coin-op binocular here to perhaps get a closer look at the bridge as well as some possible bird life that might fly by here.

2020-10-05Amazing place for some beautiful nature views. Pretty good hike trails and its also called grand canyon of the east for a reason. You can never stop getting amazed by the views this park has to offer around the year.

2018-07-19I would vote Letchworth a “Grand Canyon” of New York!! Good place for trekking hiking walking and taking some landscapes photos. Would recommend to visit here from May - November, especially in Fall season with fantastic foliage. Sometimes catch some little land snakes after rainy days here

2019-08-13This park is out of this world. 10 stars. old stone work, trails, food, picnic & cookouts. even the picnic tables have great stone work, forgot your cell phone, no worries they have a coin operated phone booth. there some history for the kids. lol. even nice to drive through. clean, beautiful and then you have 3 huge waterfalls. this park has it all. need i say more. what are you waiting for. go man go!!!! anybody that gave this place these than 5 stars is clueless.

2019-06-08Definitely do not pass this state park when you visit or pass through NYS. The lower falls are the best with parking at the top AND bottom of the water feature. Of course if you have been in the car for a while, it’s great to exercise. .

2019-10-29One of the most beautiful parks Ive ever been in, very highly recommended! And make sure you visit both falls, there only about a 100 yd apart.
