Our child is thriving at this school and I cannot recommend it enough. The teachers are all super friendly and they really care. This is obvious from the top down. Every day our child comes home with new words/phrases/sign language etc... all things that we have not taught her at home.I think they handle COVID masterfully - the school from the outside seems immaculate. There was a case where one of our daughters teachers did in fact test positive. While we have to keep her home, we are relieved that the precautions the school takes yielded no other negative tests for other teachers/kids/their families. I felt very much in the loop about what was going on and they did a great job communicating with us the details.Anyone shopping around for a daycare, look no farther!

It is the hardest decision to make regarding where you will send your child for daycare. The facility will become their home away from home and the teachers will become their extended family. 2 years ago, we made the best decision for our daughter to attend Lightbridge Academy in Baldwin. The professionalism of the staff, the cleanliness of the facility, and the overall feel of the environment is one not matched anywhere else. This review is for that parent who is unsure where to go or if that place is any good. Our daughter has truly blossomed into her own person and has grown/developed so much because of the care and love she got while at Lightbridge Academy. One wouldnt think switching daycare facilities due to a move would be this difficult, but they truly raised and taught her better than we ever imagined. Were moving out of NY and it feels like were moving away from family. The tears, emotions, and connections are real. Do not second guess this facility, the faculty, your childs safety, or their ability to find a learning path for them. They will win you over through actions/results. We will forever recommend them over and over. Thank you to everyone for being a part of her life! We love all of you more than you know.

Absolutely thrilled with Lightbridge Academy in Baldwin. My son is currently enrolled in their preschool program. So far, its been a wonderful experience! Under the guidance of his amazing teachers, he is growing and thriving in a structured environment. Look forward to starting a new, enriching curriculum for PreK in September.Its very important to recognize the dedicated staff of school administrators and teachers who went above and beyond the call of duty. Throughout COVID-19, Lightbridge worked tirelessly to provide our community with a clean, safe and healthy environment. Once again, Lightbridge Academy in Baldwin has demonstrated its unwavering commitment and support for early childhood education.Lastly, I have to say the communication efforts and updates from both the Director and Assistant Director are greatly appreciated from my end. Not to mention, theyre incredibly attentive and responsive 24/7. I truly value this high level of customer service as a parent.Additional comments and feedback:* Recently introduced Moment Path app for parents to stay connected.No longer using Tadpoles.* Due to COVID, school lunches were not provided last year (including nomorning or afternoon snack). Parents are currently responsible forpacking lunch, snacks, etc.* Large outdoor playground with a variety of fun activities, includingSprinkler Days in July/August.* Parent teacher conferences available upon request.RATING: 5+ stars

My daughter attended Lightbridge Academy for two years.Pros: Some of the teachers are great! The facility is very clean. Joann in the office is lovely.Cons: There were NUMEROUS occasions where the classroom was over capacity according to NYS rules. I reached out to the main office with this issue but it persisted. I reached out to the state but received little support. I reached out to Lightbridge corporate because this is a REAL safety concern, and they were receptive but the issue did not get resolved. Students would be shuffled in and out of classrooms and would often be put with teachers or students they did not know to try to even out numbers of students. I went to drop off my daughter in her classroom one day and there were 15 students in the room. My daughter would have been the 16th student, in a room that is supposed to have no more than 12 students (we went home and I called in sick to work). The teacher was literally crying and felt powerless and upset that management would put her in this unsafe position in violation of state rules and guidelines. There were times where I would go to pick up my daughter and no one could tell me even which classroom she was in because she had been shuffled around so many times. Ultimately, our safety concerns were not addressed so we left the facility and sent our daughter elsewhere.Edit 3/16/20 The owner of this business replied that they could not find an account associated with my name to try to delegitimize the review that I left. The email address associated with this review received invoices from Lightbridge for two years (2017-2018) as well as tadpoles reports. If you cannot find an account associated with this name, that is a reflection of your poor record keeping. The owner of this business also replied that I should call directly to discuss feedback. I gave this feedback DIRECTLY to the main office and corporate multiple times before pulling my daughter from the school. I will not be following up again. After multiple chances to address the safety concern, the issue was not rectified so I made the decision to remove my daughter.

I love how the teachers know my son so well. Ever since he started at six months he has loved to go to daycare. The colorful and educational bulletin boards and Dr. Seuss quotes that line the halls are wonderful as well. I’m addition, they change him, feed him, and sing/dance/read in a timely fashion so he is never left wanting or unattended. Lastly, they send home a daily ledger of his changes, naps, and feedings which are so helpful and reassuring.

We have seen tremendous progress with our child! Miss Kia and Kayla are amazing teachers and are extremely satisfied with how they run their program. Our son is always saying how much he had fun at school and are always happy!

I toured Lightbridge Academy a few weeks ago, and absolutely fell in love with it. The director Debbie is extremely kind and communicative. I hope my daughter can enroll here soon.

My son graduated pre-k and now my youngest son is attending Lightbridge. The graduation and pre-k experience were absolutely amazing. Shout out to all the staff for their hard work because it was truly memorable and adorable. Now my youngest who is 1 is enjoying his experience and his teachers are phenomenal. Thank you Lightbridge. #Bestdaycareever!!!- Newer Daycare (opened in 2016) - very clean with updated furniture and toys- Caring Staff- they work tirelessly and treat your child like their own- A Daycare That Is Licensed To Administer Medication! This is huge for parents of children with allergies/asthma; Be Forewarned!- not all daycares can administer medication- we had to switch daycares when we found out our child at 16 months had significant food allergies, and the old daycare couldn’t administer medication!- Diverse- there are families and staff members from various ethnicities, nationalities, religions, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds...a true melting pot of a daycare!- Creative Curriculum- your child will be learning while singing, dancing, creating art, coupled with traditional circle time activities and seat work (when age appropriate)- all in preparation for your child to embark on his/her educational quest in kindergarten and beyond; your child will learn how to be a good friend, how to share, how to use the bathroom independently (the tiny toilets are adorable!), how to follow directions, and all of the educational prerequisites needed to be successful by the time kindergarten rolls around- Meals/Snacks Are Offered; if your family is vegetarian- no problem! Vegetarian meals are also offered. If you choose to send food for your child (we do because of food allergies) that’s an option as well.- State of the Art (Smartboard, iPads, fingerprint identification system in order to gain entrance to the daycare, Tadpoles App provides daily reports, the ability to send drop-off notes to the teachers, and photos of your child engaging in various activities at the daycare; Parent View is also available (extra monthly fee) where you can watch your child on camera in his/her classroom, in the multipurpose room, and outside on the playground; air ventilation system- no need to worry about pollen or other irritants from the outside when indoors- Newer Enclosed Playground with a protective roof covering and turf instead of grass- great for children with sensitive skin and environmental allergies- Activities/Events Galore- there are several activities that take place each month- parents/families are welcome to attend special events such as Halloween Parades, Holiday Parties, Gingerbread House Making, Month of the Young Child, etc. There are also nights where you can leave your child after-hours (for an extra fee), so you can have a date-night or go holiday shopping, knowing that your child is in good hands.- Soccer Shots- this program is available to children age 3 and up; it comes to the daycare and runs for six-week sessions...you don’t have to worry about the stress of getting your little one to soccer practice on time and you can watch your child playing on Parent View!- A Daycare That Gives Back- throughout the year collections are made to help other families locally and beyond that are in need- food collections for the holidays; backpacks that are filled with items for infants/young children that are victims of natural disasters- the daycare teaches children the importance of community and charity from the onset- Friendly Parents/Families- the vast majority of the parents are friendly...you can smile and say “Hello” and you will get a greeting in return.- * Please don’t just read the reviews. I suggest that you go and visit Lightbridge Academy in Baldwin yourself. Talk to the staff and families. Then you will truly be able to ascertain if it’s the right fit for your family. My toddler absolutely loves his class and teachers, and I do, too. He get so excited every morning when we walk in together and hes learning so much every day. We are incredibly with the entire staff.
