The Out of Control is my favorite roll and Renee roll is my second favorite. Also, volcano appetizer is very good. The Chilean sea bass is awesome. The main thing is to check if they have good pieces since they are particular and don’t settle. They are so hospitable there with Richard treating all the guests like they are family. If you want to enjoy a good meal in an accommodating place then Liki is your place.
This sounds like a stereotype, but Ill say it anyways: As someone who has lived in Japan and more than enjoyed the food there, I think I pay attention to sushi more than others do. Ill eat rolls and theyre fine, but my main order is the plain sushi, the fish on rice.Liki Sushi has, by far, paid attention to and given me the best quality sushi fish that I have experienced on this side of Long Island. Ive been to a lot of Long Island places that serve sushi. Every time I tell people about Liki, they recommend a place on Long Island for me to go to, only for me to try it and have it disappoint me. Liki Sushi is winning fights outside of its weight class. No matter the local joint -- whether its the neighboring Roppongi, the slightly more fancy The One, or the pricy Blackstone Steakhouse -- theyre all beat by Liki Sushi. Now listen, if you only want rolls stuffed with ingredients and that are drenched in various sauces, Liki does that. Maybe other places do just as well. But when it comes to SUSHI proper? Apart from places in NYC, there is no nearby Long Island Asian restaurant that does better.
This sushi spot is one of my favorites places. I hardly recommend to all my sushi lovers. The service is top notch, the owner is such of humble generous man. Every plate has tones of flavors. Is a little cozy, perfectFor a date or a night out with friends. I can give this place 10 * because they are great.
Not only is this the BEST sushi restaurant around, but it also has the most incredible owners and staff. They are so friendly and make you feel like part of their family. My family and I have been coming here since they’ve opened. The sushi is fresh and delicious as well as their soups and other dishes! I highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!
Its ok. Cant speak to the Sushi as we had the Chilean Sea Bass, Samba and Sesame Chicken. I also had the Sour soup. The lamb chops were fine, if not a bit charred, but I like it like that. Everything was just ok. Nothing stood out. Everything was over sauced and very sweet. Would I go back probably not. No photos because nothing was worth photographing.Again, it was just ok. It was a dumb reach.
Liki sushi is one of those places where you walk in and feel like youre home. The staff is super friendly and its a very fun environment. You can order anything off the menu and feel comfortable knowing it will be delicious, I am never disappointed. I highly recommend the lamb chop appetizer as well as the Mexican roll and the Renee roll, those are usually my go-tos.
Really good people serving some really fresh fish. Renee roll, Ak -47 roll, and a simple salmon/avocado hand roll is the way to go every single time. Super casual place in a strip mall. I would give it 5 stars but theres something about the rice that seems very basic compared to some top notch places Ive eaten sushi in around the world
Extra delicious Sushi! The Kani salad us delish, the AK-47 roll, what a roll, anything with cream cheese on it is just so tasty and unique, is one of my favorites, scallion pancakes, the fried Ice-cream, owner is super nice and interacts with clients, nice atmosphere, cozy, good drinks, freshh!
Ive been going to Liki for about 7 years. Since I was about 16. Me and my fiance always go to Liki every Friday and a lot of the time on the weekdays for lunch. We went a lot. The food was great, the people WERE very friendly. But this is what the point is. We ordered two green tea ice creams. I was in the middle of eating my great tea ice cream. Never had an issue with this place EVER in my entire life...and when I took a piece of the ice cream in my mouth..felt something very hard and I pulled it out of my mouth. IT WAS A FINGER NAIL!N LIKE WTF. How does someones dirty fingernails end up in ice cream? Out of all places..? Ice cream...I am really really upset at this place. Been going here for years. The owner said he was sorry and someone was cutting nails in the back room..? My fiance even felt what the finger nail was...and hes like yup that is someones finger nail.......lets never come back here again he said. He looked very annoyed. I should have even not paid for the full bill...sushi is a lot of money. AND ALL THEY DID WAS TOOK THE ICE CREAM OFF THE BILL. I CAME HERE A LOT AND THE OWNER SHOULD HAVE BEEN NICE ENOUGH TO GIVE US A FREE MEAL OR NOT EVEN LET US PAY THE BILL! And I didnt leave any tip at all. No one would if they saw what happened that day. So we payed the bill and got our stuff together to leave..and the owner says. Okay, I see you before Christmas, right..I sorry about that...hahaha... And we look at him and say..yeah, before Christmas have a nice night. So that was how my day went that night. If you feel something funny in your ice cream I warned you. And also one time I ordered a dragon roll and the fish tasted like it has been a day older then it should have been. So. Liki Sushi has lost a very loyal and good costumer..OH and the owner gives out Saki and does not even ID anyone. So, if you are a minor he is giving you free booze. And that is illegal for minors. You need to be 21 to drink...not 17 or 18.
My favorite local Asian fusion place (and Im a Flushing transplant) - great friendly service - great sushi and hot food - something for everyone on the menuUpdate: I think Ive been here 5 times since I wrote this review and I still love this place - It seems to get better and better the more I go - definitely a local gem
A tiny restaurant with big flavors and a penchant for taking contemporary Japanese cuisine to the next level. Take a seat (one of six) at the sushi bar upstairs and order the signature wagyu beef nigiri with truffle salsa and ponzu jelly, or a simpler but equally exciting squid and natto (fermented soy bean) inside-out maki roll.
Went for the first time..LOVED IT. We ordered all sorts of assorted sushi pieces, uni, eel hand roll, shumai, they even had sweet shrimp!! Not easy to find..everything was fresh and perfect. My new favorite place. Didnt try the specialty rolls, as we kinda like the purist approach, but others have said they are fantastic. You must try!

2022-05-08First time at Liki and saw some good reviews so I had to give it a try. It’s a small cozy place in Amityville. The food was great from appetizer to dessert. Prices were very reasonable. Calamari was large and crispy. Salad was crunchy. The sushi was great. Tasted fresh and all the food was prompt. Highlight of the night was the orange chicken. Absolute best orange chicken I’ve ever had. And I love Asian cuisine. This is a great choice if your interested in sushi and or Asian cuisine. Will definitely be coming back!

2022-05-18I never ever leave reviews but this needs to be said.Ive been coming here for years. Food was always good however lately i noticed a decrease in the food quality and customer service.. The staff are extremely rude. The first time it happened i didnt make a big deal because i figured they were having a bad day. After a few times it makes you feel like your hard working money is not being appreciated.Today i ordered the sushi lunch special and the seafood had an extremely strong smell i could not eat i just threw it away!!! Its one thing to be rude but to be rude and have rotten food thats just a no no. Never spending my money here again.

2019-01-01Came here on new years eve on a recommendation. We ordered sushi & sashimi combo, sesame chicken, pad thai, crispy lemon scallops, eel roll w/ cucumber, tuna sashimi, plain udon noodles, and house filet mignon. Everything was above our expecations and full of delicious flavor! The service was good, the restaurant is very clean and we were happy!

2017-09-20I used to live in Amityville and this is still my favorite sushi restaurant of all time. I visited NY for a wedding and made a point to come out for both lunch and dinner on Long Island to Liki. Just... Do yourself a favor and go.

2022-04-03We came at late afternoon, we wanted the booth table in the back but the old lady don’t let us sit there in empty restaurant, no other customers other than us. our time started with unsatisfactory mood.
