I have a hard time with bakeries. I just want to buy and eat everything. Lilis is no different. We walked in and found the one person working the counter to help us pick out some things. We ended up with 6 macaroons, and a piece of cookie cheesecake, it was like some cheesecake fell into a bit of cookie dough. It was tasty. The macroons looked and tasted so sweet and delicious. The outside of the macroons may have been a little thicker than others I have had, but they were still flavorfull and crisp. The salted caramel and mint chocolate had the most bold flavor of all that were ordered. I will definitely come back and try some other flavors.
Had the red velvet cheesecake (very very good) and the strawberry shortcake macaron (pretty good, tastes like strawberry topping).
Small little store with some crazy good sweets - their PB&J cheesecake is to die for! Pro tip - let the cheesecake rest at room temp about half hour before you eat it, so it melts in your mouth... youll come back for more.4 stars only as Ive had bad experiences with service and delivery as well, but still soooo worth it.
Ordered a cake from here a while back and unfortunately it did not taste good at all. It was not what I expected and this one guy working there was kind of rude and had attitude. I had to carry my cake upright without a bag because they don’t have bags to fit their cakes into? ( I had to catch a train back to queens) such a huge inconvenience and ridiculous considering your selling cakes that size! Had to carry it in the freezing cold. Overall, quality of the cake was subpar, you’re better off going elsewhere
Was very excited to eat here, all of the reviews say wonderful things but I took one bite and immediately tasted mold. The other plain cheesecake had the same moldy taste. We bought them late at night so I can only imagine they sat out all day in the display case and went bad? I don’t see any mold on the desserts themselves, but it very distinctly tastes of mold :( I’m sure a fresher bake would have been delicious!
I stumbled into Lili’s in late March. They have absolutely the BEST macaroons my wife and I have EVER had. I’ve now walked 30-plus blocks on each of my last 3 visits to NYC to get them again. I can’t recommend coming enough. Jaylee will take unbelievable care of you!!
Just WOW! The place is so cute you wouldn’t imagine - just have to go there. And then you need to be patient and tactical because it’s almost impossible to decide which one of their perfect sweets you need. Lemon meringue is just heaven, top of the tops, marvelous, perfect, wonderful and I can go on. Service is friendly and sociable, they are always eager to help you choose between the huge variety of their products, sometimes they can help with little samples for tasting. They serve a very decent coffee as well!
Came in around 10pm, was at first happy that they were open until Midnight until I was greeted with rude service. I thought $8 for two small cupcakes was a little ridiculous but figured they would taste good - they did not. They were stale. Shame because everything looked delicious, but guess you cant judge something on its appearance.

Went here the other day after seeing them on the news. The server was very nice and informative. She was helpful and took her time with all the options available for their custom cheesecake on a stick. I got the classic cheesecake dipped in chocolate and topped with snickers. I also got a giant red velvet cookie. Both options were very delicious and worth the visit there. I will definitely be going back when I am in the area and recommend it for anyone else in the area who wants something sweet.
Lovely coffee and delicious macarons. We had the red velvet and marshmallow macarons. When we came, lots were sold out which is a good sign. The cookies and cheesecake on a stick looked good too!
My friends and I came to Lili’s on Saturday night before the Sammy Rae concert at Terminal 5 - and then the security guard threw my friend’s cookie in the trash :((. We ran back! And the kindest staff pepped us up and we are the most delicious s’mores cookie and brightened our evening so we could continued to dance the night away.
The cupcakes were stale with a slightly chemical taste to the frosting. The carrot cake was okay although it tasted more of spice cake than carrot cake. The employee was nice and efficient. But the cupcakes were disappointing.
I have to say I was disappointed. I had looked on the website and seen the beautiful pics of the cheesecakes and macarons but what I saw in the shop was nothing like those pics. I don’t know if they were just having an off day, but there were only two macarons left, and the cheesecake was not as fresh tasting as I had hoped.
Came in late on a sunday, got the creme brulee, a campfire cheescake, loaded brownie and banana pudding. Didnt catch the lady at the counters name but she was very nice, took no time to make our irder and dealt with me being indecisive. Will definitely be back! Also super reasonable pricing!

Great shop, clean, and staff was friendly and helpful. They didnt rush us while we looked over all the choices. The Lavender macaroon was the best we tried. The cappuccino wasnt the best. The salted caramel was sweet & delicious.
We decided to Door cash dessert right to our hotel room. This place was open late, had lots of options, and everything looked so good on their website! The cannoli is one of the best Ive ever had and the mini cannolis make for a perfect little treat! The macaroons were so fresh and the cookie was fantastic!

First off, disappointed with delivery packaging... Ordered through Uber Eats and it was raining so was ok with the delivery taking 2hrs, but what is up with this packaging😂Also disappointed with the cupcakes... Got strawberry and lemon cupcakes and lemon is not tangy at all. The frosting on both cupcakes taste the same with different coloring but no significant taste difference. But strawberry cupcake with its jam inside was delicious (full 2 stars from this strawberry cupcake). Still not the biggest fan of the frosting.And to top it off they gave me a wrong cheesecake from what I ordered. it looks like in person visits are pleasant based on other reviews... Maybe its just not ready for delivery service? They should pay more attention to the orders and packaging.
If I could give more stars, I would. Friendliest people I have met in the week that Ive been in Manhattan! Made an online order, and was called almost immediately for things they didnt have made (its late at night, Im not surprised) to offer substitutions, and when I came into the shop I was addressed by name despite them being busy. A great place!

We had the NY cheesecake and it was delicious! We really enjoyed it. We also had one caramel cake in a mason jar - it was too sweet for our liking. The cheesecake is a must! We are even thinking of getting another cheesecake soon!
The place looks nice but I do not recommend at all. We took 3 cupcakes, and the 3 were dry, bland and tasted almost the same although the flavors were different. For $4 a cupcake, its really not worth it. In addition, we were hesitating between several favors so we asked the opinion of one of the employees, it seemed that we were bothering him with our question…
Very quaint and great service! I got green tea, lavender, and tiramisu macarons and they were delicious! Not too sweet, but not flavorless! Make sure to review them on Google and get 1 macaron for free!

Ordered online for local delivery, but read the delivery date incorrectly. Over a week in advance of the delivery date, I emailed to cancel my order. (I would be out of the country for the scheduled delivery date and wouldn’t be able to receive it.) I did not receive any reply or refund. My entire order was rotten/spoiled by the time I got back. Please work on customer service.
This has a great selection of germs we got Corona flu and even the cheetovirus never coming here again. Great decorations tho i really liked the the pride toilet cover

Dont go to one of the more famous cheesecake places. This is the place for cheesecake, cookies, macarons, cupcakes, etc. Small shop, great folks, fantastic treats!
Not bad. Banana pudding was good. Peanut butter bar was tasty as well. Be prepared to spend 3 bucks for a small macaroon though! Macaroons are not worth it. Got to watch the “manager” guy chastise the poor woman who mistakenly overcharged me. He did the ‘ol get upset and yell at her to get out of the way to get on the terminal. Hopefully it was just a bad night for him. I could see her dejected look and felt embarrassed for her.
Update Two:I just saw my order had been delivered to my door... 30mins after it said delivered on the app.I contacted the custom service at the moment it said delivered but it didnt. I thought that was a straight cancellation but marked as “delivered”.I kindly ask please do not mark “delivered” when it is not.I got the order, so I update the score to 3.-----Update One:Look I dont wanna come at you but you need to understand its new years Eve. Streets are blocked off our delivery guys are out there trying to bring your food to your door steps please have some patient and understanding. Your order has been fully refunded .. Place was okay, the cupcakes tasted good but the frosting was off in my personal taste. I had the Vanilla Macaroon too and that was good as well. It is definitely overhyped, but it’s pretty decent. The staff is great though, very helpful.

Came in on my first night in NYC, and they didnt disappoint! We got a Canal Lane, a black-and-white cookie, and a bunch of macaroons. Everything was delicious. Im not a fan of the fondant icing on the black & white cookies, but it was a better cookie than other ones I tried around town.
Very poor customer service! Rude to us because we did not say the name of product as there was no label and staff was not bothered to take two steps and check what we need. Instead kept repeating to read the label. Would not visit again. 11:16PM, 2/6/2022.
Would not recommend this place. Two cheesecakes I got were not fresh, didnt taste good, had to throw it away. What a waste of money. Service was one star as well, I didnt get asked if I needed napkins or utensils or anything else. They seem not to care at all.

Spent 5 days in NYC in December and found this little gem the first day. Visited every day. Great snickerdoodle and chocolate chip cookies, and the cheesecake is phenomenal.
I got several treats and they were ok. I was disappointed with the dipped cheesecake. Presentation was not the best.
Ordered on doordash and my order arrived significantly later than it was supposed to. Dont accept orders if you cant fulfill them.

Ordered pumpkin pie and pecan- both were good but the pumpkin pie was frozen?? And the pecan is more syrupy than I would have liked.
I ordered delivery from this establishment at around 10:00pm, as they were open and I was looking for a dessert. After waiting until 10:50 (my “estimated delivery time”), I called the bakery and asked for an update on my order. The person I spoke with said they weren’t sure where the driver was but he “should be there within 10 to 20 minutes”. I gave the restaurant another 25 minutes and then proceeded to call again, this time speaking to a different worker who claimed they couldn’t find my order in the “system” for about 10 minutes on the phone. When they finally found it, I was told “it’s probably with your doorman”. My doorman always calls when I receive any orders downstairs, so I was hesitant, but I hung up and went downstairs anyway. No delivery made. I went through Uber Eats support and got my money refunded, but I am still reasonably upset with the service I received.
I am soo glad I discovered this place!!! The staff are awesome and the food DELICIOUS! If your a peanut butter lover like me I highly recommend the Reese’s Peanut Butter Stuffed Lava Cookie 🤤.

This Cheesecake transcends mountains!! Tarak runs an amazing bake shop across the street from my home and I can’t resist the Lili’s Cheesecake. They have everything you could want and more. Highly recommend. 6 Stars :)

Ive had a standing order with this Buttercup Bake Shop location for the last few months as a way of lightening spirit of colleagues. Ive had no complaints as a matter of fact everyone, lets say 35 employees all rave about the moistness of the cakes. Ive ordered individual cupcakes in the pass and those were equally as good but most recently I find it easier to have a monthly order in place. The person I am in contact with is Tarek H. I literally left my credit card on file, monthly I reach out to him with details of the cake Id like and provide him a time for pick up (although, I also have the option to have the cakes delivered but I work across the street so) and its ready without issue. I would suggest you try them for other events as well. Ive had other special events cakes made there always a success. Let me say there are other bake shops in the area and buttercup beats them hands down when it comes to moistness, visual appeal, taste and cost. They are second to none.

This place is amazing! Do yourself a favor and try the little parfaits of heaven! The cookie dough brownie custard one is probably the best dessert I have ever had. The cupcakes were moist and delicious. My favorite was the salted caramel and cookie dough cupcake. The staff was fabulous answering questions and giving recommendations and I will be a regular here!
I ordered a week in advance, paid in cash, and was pretty specific about how I wanted the cake. I don’t like writing on my actual cake. It looks tacky. I prefer it written on the cake board. They sent extra icing so I could do it myself, which I don’t recall them adding that detail, but I’m not opposed to saying I could’ve forgotten however it doesn’t matter. There was no additional board space to write it myself, and they wrote happy birthday to ME on the cake, and not my daughter. That part was definitely made clear because not only did I have to spell out her name, but I’m most definitely NOT 18, LOL. I couldn’t even call them about it because we didn’t get in and do the cake and presents until almost midnight. My husband didn’t think he needed to check the cake so I guess that’s on us but it wouldn’t have made a difference being that it was picked up only a few hours before we were presenting it anyway. Honestly, I cried. Then I laughed. The flavor was spot on. It was exactly what I was looking for but you could tell it wasn’t professional. I wish I could post photos so no one thinks I’m being extra about my kid’s 18th birthday cake, but let’s be real. I could’ve presented a neater looking cake, and I’m a struggling working mom and even though I can barely afford it (my husband still hasn’t gotten his job back at the UN since COVID first started) I paid $50 for this cake trying to relieve myself of some extra work as well as “support local”. I don’t think this particular cake represented the company very well. The layers were uneven with occasional gaps. I thought there would be more of a coffee dust presentation... The whole thing was kinda disappointing. They’re getting two stars because the cake did taste good, and the frosting was really nice.

Stumbled upon this bakery and ordered a warm chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream. It was everything I hoped it would be. Very sweet family run bakery. So happy I stumbled upon it!
It pains me to say this, but we were disappointed. My family was celebrating my sons birthday and wanted to pick up cupcakes - since I am gluten free, and they had a large selection, we walked quite a bit out of our way. Its a lovely shop, absolutely mouthwatering, and theres something for everyone! But the quality was just...okay. I had the GF red velvet cake - the icing was not true cream cheese icing which I expect from a red velvet cake, and wasnt really a buttercream either. It tasted like the very sugary icing I would expect from grocery store treats, not a bakery like this. I also got the chocolate caramel cake, which I had today - tasty, especially when heated up, but something is still missing. Particularly given the premium pricing of the gluten free treats, I was disappointed by the quality and will stick with several other local favorites instead.My husband had non-GF cupcakes and said that his cake was dry, which I had also noticed with mine. Our 3 year old had no complaints, though! :)If you want a variety of flavors and combos to try, go for it - and the pricing was standard NYC bakery for the regular flavors. But if you are gluten free, there are other well-known bakeries in the area that will give you more of your moneys worth.
A great spot to stop for dessert after a show given the location. The cupcakes are pretty good, but its the frosting is definitely the best part. They have a few other treats, cookies and brownies and the like. Prices are good for the area and the staff is friendly and helpful. They even have nice to go containers to keep you cupcakes looking nice.

This place is a classic! It’s a lowkey spot that you’ll miss if you blink, but don’t be fooled. Big things come in small packages! They have a ton of options, both large and small, that are guaranteed to satisfy your craving.
My niece and I topped off our fun day together by finding Buttercup Bake Shop. Shanta gave us excellent service! The cupcakes were so very moist, filled with flavor and perfect guilt-free size so you can eat more than one at a time. Which I did and would do again. The triple chocolate cookie was soft and rich. I ate that later and wished I had bought more for the next day. We will return!

I came here with some friends that love how I met your mother, since this is the bakery Victoria from the show worked at. We had to get cupcakes but also tried the banana pudding. The cupcakes were great with the frosting being the best part but the banana pudding was FIRE! By far the best item in the store. Fun place to stop if you are a fan of the show or just in the neighborhood. They accept credit and debit cards.

I wanted to send a friend a surprise during his long workday from out of state, so this was actually a random find since it was close to his office building. I was really happy with the online ordering experience! The prices were all really reasonable, the ordering was easy, and they even called to double-check the address when they werent sure. They were friendly and the order arrived way faster than I expected. My friend really enjoyed them (the cookies and cream, smores, and chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting) - Im excited to go try them myself next time Im in NYC.

Love Buttercup Bake Shop! It tastes homemade. The cake is never dry and the icing is just right. If you buy a single cupcake they put it in a cute little box. Glad this place is in the area. It’s a much better dessert than what is offered in the nearby restaurants.

I don’t normally post reviews, however I feel compelled to do so. I purchased 2 cupcakes and 2 macarons at this bakery and was very disappointed with the quality. Altogether I paid about $15. The cupcakes were stale and at least 3 or 4 days old. The macarons were mediocre at best. At four bucks a pop, the cupcakes should have been amazing and they were far from it. They were more like something I would buy at a high school bake sale. I will not be returning.
I would not recommend the macarons. Texture, taste, and composition is not a macaroon. Glorified cookie maybe and not s good one at that. Way too expensive for the quality.

Absolutely horrible service, ordered at 2:45pm and all I got was six small macaroons. It said it would be here in 5/10 minutes. We called twice and they proceeded to ignore the call. We called on other phones and they answered. The guy that was working there was extremely rude and proceeded to scream on the phone telling me & my company to “ cancel the order” if we keep calling. He finalized the order by saying he will be here in 15 minutes and that was at 3:33 when we called and now it is 4:25 no order, proceeded to call the bakery and they said we “ canceled the order”. Was on hold for awhile and than the call ended. Proceeded to call back & they transferred to another call. Absolutely unprofessional, do not recommend

I went to this bakery on the recommendation of a good friend. I have bought banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery and I must say with no malice intended they are neck and neck in taste. I bought a 32 oz banana pudding from Buttercup and was not disappointed. I will be a return customer to both .

The only place to go to in New York to.get ice cream on your cup cake. Four words....the best cupcake ever. The devil dog cupcake is amazing. The way the toasted marshmallow blends with the cookies in cream ice provides you a yummy taste in your mouth. The ice cream is a wonderful addition to the ice cream.
I love to visit this wonderful little bakery on 7th ave when I visit New York! They have a host of fabulous treats to please any dessert lover! (Be sure to try the banana pudding a personal favorite) everything is always so fresh.
Visiting from out of town. Girlfriend loves cupcakes Im not really into sweets. But this was hands down the best cupcake I have ever had. We will be going back later to try the pudding cups and cheesecake!
This place is the bomb! Been going here for years and I’ve always been more than happy. Staff is always friendly, educated and sincere. Everything I’ve tried is the best of the best. My personal favorite is there cheesecakes ..Always fresh, always delicious and always on time with deliveries.The atmosphere is warm and inviting .

So many great options to choose from! Expect to stand a few minutes mesmerized by the beauty of each dessert available and another few minutes deciding on which ones to walk away with. Pro tip: Order for a large group to sample a little of each. :-) The space is a bit narrow so I would recommend this as a place to pick up and walk over to a nearby outdoor plaza to enjoy.

I was craving some cake and took a whim on this bakery and ordered on ubereats...BABY THAT CAKE WAS MOIST!! Big ole slices that I had to save for later! This was my first time ever trying Buttercup but they know what’s up! Just delicious, you will not be disappointed.
Regional bakery with a wide variety of items, mainly cakes. Prices are expensive, but in line with the area.Small store, over worked staff. Only one person on duty during my visit, and the person had to answer the phone while trying to wait on guest. I find that annoying!As a person with a sweet tooth, found the buttercream and coconut cakes good. The German Chocolate cake was dry and tasteless. Perhaps an off batch?Slices are on the small side, so be warned.

We stopped at this lil bakery, it was clean friendly staff and outstanding sweets . We had the red velvet and the cookie dough cupcakes (delicious). Hands down, THE BEST RED VELVET Cake Ive ever had. Its super rich and the cream cheese frosting balances it so well. Ive never seen red Velvet cake ever the same again afterwards. Ive never had anything else but I dont need to.
We ordered from them and the order never arrived. We called and they said they didn’t have any delivery guys, sorry. That’s it. No refund available. Very weird, shady place that will just steal your money, so go somewhere else.

I love cupcakes! I love cupcakes! But I found Buttercup too sweet for my taste! However, the variety of options, plus the fact that your friends will adore you for bringing cupcakes to a party, is incentive to swing by when you got a cupcake craving.

So I went to manhattan with the intention of trying to get in to Carnegie deli on its last night (Dec 30,2016). Needless to say it was 8:00 and a 4 hour wait and they close at 12. The halfway point of the line was the cutoff and everybody behind was on standby. So what does this have to do with buttercup bake shop you ask ? Having already fed the meter for 4 hours I set out to appease my craving for something different and make my short trek from bayside worth it. I had my halal guys and decided to try Buttercup for a chocolate craving fix. Well a choc choc cupcake, some sinfully beautiful merengue top chocolate cupcake called the devil dog and a chocolate milk whipped pudding cup and fixed I was. Ate it all in one shot outside my car. Not before I snapped some pics first though. Everything was delicious. The young man and young woman were equally delightful. The customers all with the common goal of satisfying there sweet tooth were very nice as we chat a little while we tried to decide which of these delicious treats to choose. Will most certainly be back with my family as they will be quite pissed I ate it all myself and brought them nothing. Sorry.
Total waste of calories. With cupcake shops all over the place Buttercup offers up a dry cupcake that taste like it was made a week ago. It has been years since I have been here and wished that I would have found a better sweet treat.
I dont ever review something unless its terrible or amazing... Let me tell u, the banana pudding is TO DIE FOR!!! Its sooo yummy.. I also got a reeses peanut butter bar, but havent had a chance to eat it. However, in sure that itll be just as amazing as the banana pudding... This place is a must go and its right across from the Sheraton Hotel so its easy to get to. Plus u cant beat the process considering this is NYC...

Great storefront, great customer service, but the canoli was only filled at the ends giving the appearance of a truly filled and wonderfully delicious canoli, I hope this was a genuine mistake as the other one we purchased contained the filling throughout. The other desserts we got ( campfire brownie, Oreo cheesecake and lemon squares) were absolutely delicious

They list themselves as Lilis Bake Shop on Grubhub and accepted our order, then later reported it as on the way. It never showed up and they simply stopped answering the phone. I understand it is a difficult time, but that is very poor customer service and my wife and I shouldnt have had to wait two hours to figure this out for ourselves.
On a day trip to NYC I visited here. The young lady at the counter was extremely kind and patient with me while I ordered. Bare in mind, I have trouble speaking in public and I was overly excited to have found a place to buy macarons since my hometown does not have a shop around that produces any. So our entire encounter basically consisted of a scatterbrained eighteen year old trying to order simple sweets. Meanwhile the lady behind the counter decoded my request and devilvered the best serivce to me.As the great as the service was, the pastries were ever greater. I believe I bought around six macarons, three of which I ate throughout the day and the other I shared with my grandmother once I returned home. Even being not as fresh as the original, the last three macarons I shared were just as delishious. They retained their flavor, texture, and structure throughout my travel around New York along with the four hour drive back home.Overall I greatly enjoyed my experience with this establishment and have even asked my friend to buy more for me on their trip to New York soon.
Ordered online and they sent the complete wrong order. We tried to contact them to let them know and they asked us to hold.. after 10 minutes they hung up. Then, we repeatedly tried to call back and they kept picking up and hanging up on us. This was on CHRISTMAS! Ripped us off. I ordered a few deserts and got a cookie and a granola bar for $20.
I’ve been here a few times for cupcakes and they are always on point. Red velvet is a favorite of mine, but I always like to try other fun flavors. Must try!
I guess by now you can tell I have a sweet tooth. I like the name: Buttercup... Buttercup sounds like it’s offering sweet promises and it definitely did. It was such a large selection that I momentarily couldn’t make up my mind. And now I’m tickled because I never looked at the name of the cake I purchased. I just pointed at it, and asked for a slice, which was rather large, came in a easy to eat from box and was totally delicious. Theirs great cake and yummys like this all over NYC, Buttercup’s Baker has found the correct balance of cake and icing which really makes them stand out. While visiting Ny stopped in after dinner, walked out with a lemon cupcake filled with raspberry and marshmellow top and a hazelnut nutella pudding both tasted wonderful. The young lady working there was super helpful and cheerful deffently going to have to nab another before we leave.

If you want a cupcake, do the lemon or their hummingbird. The banana pudding here is my favorite. I love that you can do full cakes of your favorite cupcakes (or buy slices of the cake form, if you prefer).
Bought a tiramisu pudding from here. Took it home, opened it, and it was spoiled. It smelled sour and my boyfriend, who was brave enough to taste it, had a bite and gagged. Never again.

2021-08-22Cute little place (emphasis on little). Everything looks tasty! They were sampling snickerdoodles and they were delicious! The staff was very friendly. The stuffed Reeses cookie was good, but almost TOO peanut buttery. I thought it could use a little more chocolate. It is literally a peanut butter cookie stuffed with peanut butter drizzled with peanut butter. But my mom LOVED their Lilis cheesecake AND the ooey gooey bar!

2021-05-21Small yet great bake shop! Went with some friends for dessert and tried their signature dish: Dirty Cheesecake. It’s a frozen slice of cheesecake covered in chocolate and toppings. We went for the allergy shot and the snickers bar cheesecake and both was so good! Especially the allergy shot with Nutella was mouthwatering and rich.Definitely a Little gem in Midtown.
