Lima in other cities:
This place overcharges you in the most subtle and sneaky way. Last month I went with my girlfriend and we ordered couple of beers ( each beer in this place is 10 dollars to begin with ) they charge us 4 dollars extra for each beer for no reason + a 20% gratuity fee. The music they have is nothing to what I was expecting at a Peruvian spot. I went again on Saturday just because my bestfriend insisted she wanted to try it out and it was the same disappointment ; we got extra charges and violated with a high gratuity that we don’t agree with as the service was superb to give that amount of gratuity. This place charges like if it was a 5th avenue restaurant and it’s not at all !
Lima is a great restaurant. I went here for my birthday and had a great time. They have this Peruvian style Mojito and it was really delicious, you should definitely try it. Food wise, it was all great, it is pricey so just giving you the heads up! I had the Ceviche Al Ajillo and it was delicious!!!!!!! They have different varieties of food as well as a kids menu section which is great if you have kids. Service was great, they made sure we were good all in all and even helped with surprising me lol.
On the search for the best LOMO SALTADO, I was recommended this restaurant. This is a fine establishment in terms of space, cleaniness, service and delicious food! I liked the lomo, but felt the fries were a bit on the oily side- otherwise, it was a great dish for a reasonable price especially since they serve hefty portions. I will return to try the Ceviche😊
Went there for my cousin’s 21st birthday dinner last night , the waitresses were so RUDE!! They were trying to make us buy bottles and not allowing us to order individual drinks. They had an attitude the whole time! After paying for the dinner, we wanted to order a hookah and they did not want to serve us. Food was horrible. Overly packed and dirty.
Came here for a birthday service sucked waitress did not greet us came chewing gum did not warned us about the kitchen closing took forever with the food and the drinks …. Passed us the bill with out telling us about our previous order and did not bring the birthday dessert then the owner sent her to tell us too bad. Pio pio is better quality of Peruvian night NEVER AGAIN AND IT WAS MY FIRST TIME. they need to train their waitresses to be more welcoming and more informative. And if the owner sent the waitress to tell us what she did then Good luck on ur future success. Oh we had to pay the previous bill in order for her tl bring the birthday cake mind you they knew we were here celebrating a BIRTHDAY.
I read the reviews beforehand but decided to go anyway; we forget this is one of the worst hit industries affected by the PANDEMICWe had a great experience with fresh food and great service, we never felt unattended. Our server always kept eye contact with our table. Will most definitely return.
What a huge amazing space hidden on northern blvd!! Loved the authentic peruvian food and good service. Músic videos are played on a huge screen cant wait to host business events and watch soccer games when they start up again. 5 stars 100% will come back over and over again! :)
This has been the first time and probably will be the last time we go here. There are several reasons, first the food was mediocre ( it wasnt bad but it wasnt spectacular) I have had much better Peruvian food at other smaller restaurants. However individual taste will vary as they do with me. Second the wait staff was horrible, our waiter was not rude ( he was actually pleasant) but was definitely not attentive he was more interested in looking at his cell phone while sitting at the bar. We were missing plates of food and he had to be reminded of that. The restaurant looks ok but it has more of bar look inside, the huge projector and the large screen TVs are perfect for watching a game so this is a huge plus in their favor! So bottom line its an ok restaurant to visit and eat once, just be prepared to wait on staff and your food.
Overall this has been a deception especially on peruvian food and drinks got a maracuya sour and some margaritas all seem to be water down ordered a lomo saltado the beef seemed like it had no seasoning not only that but the dj seemed to be on his old music putting some trash music not only that its over priced for the quality your getting save your money and time
Had the pleasure to visit this place for a month ago and I can tell you. I did enjoy the entertainments. Overall I loved the atmosphere I loved the service. The food was great. I’ve tried other Peruvian places but this blew my mind with their food. The taste was awesome. The selection of alcoholic drinks was another plus including the way the place was set up with a second floor sitting for a more private date night.!
Place was horrible. The service was awful. The waitress forgot 2 peoples dishes. While everybody was done and just sitting the other 2 dishes came. Then they fixed the bill twice and each time they said they had adjust it to make the bill lower but they kept adding stuff to the bill. Waitress said it wasn’t her fault. The place was empty. Would def not recommend. Go to Pio Pio better. Never again
My Family and I celebrated my mother in laws birthday here. Great atmosphere for large groups . Music AMAZING , it was a majority of live performances and some old school music. They had almost everyone out of their seats dancing. The Sangria was delicious. As for the service ... our waiter was friendly but it appears that they are very under staff. The food took forever to arrive. Even when it was time to cut the cake , they stated that they will be back in 5 mins with the cake , time continued to pass and nothing. We then eventually had to chase them to remind them 30 mins later. Another thing, water was never served ( we even had a kids table ) all that was served was the drinks you ordered. We had to ask for the waters as well. They appeared so busy that we eventually just got it our selves at the bar. The food wasnt too great, Ive definitely had better. I ordered escabeche de pescado ( my fav peruvian dish FYI) and once it arrived the strong smell of tomato sauce hit me, as per others their food lacked flavor. In conclusion I would not return for the food but I would for drinks and live performances. The atmosphere was AMAZING ! Fortunately my family especially my mother in law had a GREAT time .
One of my friends told me that the food was terrible. No taste at all. I was like: “what are you talking about? The food is great there” So I decided to go and see why she was saying that. I had a seco de cabrito yesterday. It was really really bad. Same with the chupe de camarones. I asked if they changed the cook and they said: “No! It’s the same” Well, the dishes I had tasted different from what I remember. They changed the menu and dishes are overpriced now. The karaoke thing is just too loud can’t have a conversation especially if you go in groups. I noticed they covered the windows of the main entrance with curtains. Didn’t know you could dance. Looks suspicious. Used to love this place. Now I know what my friend was talking about. They used to have delicious food. Very disappointed.
As owner or manager you should train your employees that the tip is an appreciation not a salary for a bill of $ 150 we left $ 40 for tip and the waitress wanted more She ask my husband if the service had been bad my husband said it was great thank you. And she said why so little tip is the service were great....!!!! No going back I walk one block more where the service is the best I do not know how much they care but they lost one more client
Nice place, bad everything else. The place looks really nice, but the quality of the food is mediocre at best. The service is poor, sometimes with a bad attitude. Keep an eye on your valuable possessions.I left my Google Pixel charger on the table, we were the last patrons to leave so there were only staff left. I came back 5 minutes later and was told nothing was left behind. They clearly knew what I was talking about because they saw me talking to a friend who was reminding me not to forget it on the table, and they said she had taken it. Because it looks like an iPhone charger Im guessing they were dishonest about having recovered my $55 charger.
Overall good food. A little overpriced but good quality. Servers need more training. Several times we needed to flag down, because they would forget about us. Chaufa was the best plate at our table. Desserts were pretty good as well (mango ice cream and peruvian donuts; Not the actual menu names)
Best Peruvian Food in Northern Blvd. Definitely a must go for anyone around, Im usually having the Parihuela or Anticucho Special. Our waitress Rachel was just awesome, gave us the best recommendations and was always around to see how my family and I were doing. 5 well deserved stars.
I thought the decor was great and the menu seemed to be missing some key authentic peruvian foods. The service was slow and we were the only people there so that wasnt too great. I am hopeful that I will give this place a try and see what happens. I did however order Arroz chaufa and I was bought Lomo saltado, I will let that slide though. Again its a hit or a miss.
Ok food, if a bit overpriced. Gave it two stars, because as a restaurant its rather loud at night and really should be closed for food. I feel like the restaurant/bar has an identity crisis, it doesnt know. If wants to be a restaurant or if it wants to be a club/bar. Be waware dont come here for late night food if you cant handle the blaring music.
Lima R&B caters to upscale diners in Jackson Heights. Theres many Peruvian restaurants in the area: I counted three within 2 blocks. This is the most upscale of the lot. Visually, its chic and dark. Somewhat nightclubish. The waiters are uniformed in crisp uniforms, and the price point is adjusted upwards, according: Its one of the most expensive restaurants in the vicinity. We spoke with the owner, and his wonderful parents. They are all lovely people who worked the crowds, making sure everyone was fully happy and satisfied. They take great pride in the restaurant, and it shows.Cancha: AServed toasted, warm, and fresh. When you eat cancha, this is what you want!Aji Amarillo Salsa: C-The pepper tasted like habañero, which is too strong for cancha dipping, and not flavorful enough, given its spice level. It overpowers the food.Chupe de Camarones Sopa: B+The soup is flavorful, yet uncomplicated. Creamy, yet not heavy. The shrimp were impressively large, and I couldnt detect the tell-tale iodine flavor of southeast Asian shrimp. Its hard to believe, but I wonder if Lima R&B uses expensive high-quality Gulf shrimp.Seco de Cabrito: B-The lamb was so tender that I used my fork to cut it. The lamb is also succulent: it tastes very lamby... no mistaking it for beef, which means its high quality meat. The whole stew is surrounded by a bed of bean stew. The whole dish wouldve been an A- or even A, except for the fact that my seco hardly had any salsa de seco. I asked the waiter for more salsa de seco and was refused.Chaufa de Pollo: A+We spent over a month in Peru, and this chaufa is better than any chaufa weve had in Peru or the US. Simply, its the best chaufa weve ever had, period. Cooked with just the right amount of soy sauce -- it tasted of soy, but not overly salty, which chaufa often is. The chicken is very soft. Whats more, we distinctly tasted ginger in the dish! Yes, ginger! I cant even detect ginger in Chinese fried rice these days. Wow! I think all the chefs in Lima should all come to Queens to learn how to cook chaufa from the owners mom!Tallarines Verdes de Entraña: AImpressive dish! The skirt steak bursts with flavor and was cooked perfectly, despite the waiter not asking us how the steak should be cooked. The spaghetti was delicious -- it was cooked to softness and the pesto was fresh and vibrant. Next time we come, the spaghetti is perfect for our 1yr old daughter.Lomo Saltado: A+I have a confession to make. I never liked lomo saltado -- it seemed like a lazy dish. You cut up some steak, toss in some french fries and onions, and boom. Invariably, the fries are freezer burned, and the steak is tough and rubbery. The owner of Lima R&B invited us to try the lomo saltado, boy are we glad we did! We spent 4+ weeks in Peru, and had lomo saltado countless times both in Peru and the US, and this is the BEST lomo saltado weve ever had, in any country. Heres the magic: First, theres an actual sauce that gets soaked up by the french fries. Most other lomo saltados Ive had were dry. Second, the french fries, while obviously still frozen fries, arent old and freezer burned. Third, the steak used is soft and juicy skirt steak. Skirt steak is one of the softest, tastiest cuts of meat. Every other lomo saltado Ive had has rubbery, tasteless meat. For the rest of my life, whenever I eat lomo saltado, I will be comparing it to Lima Bar and Restaurant!Pescado a lo Macho: A-This is fish for a manly man! The cream sauce was just a tad bland. I wouldve liked maybe a bit of garlic or pepper for flavoring. Two things really stand out: The fish (batter fried sea bass/corvina) is magnificent. Also, the shrimp is high quality: I didnt detect iodine, which may indicate high quality Gulf shrimp.Picarones: A-A very yeasty doughnut with caramel sauce. If you like dark beer, youll love this. Goes great with coffee. They should consider serving espresso to go with these!
I came with my family for the first time... and the last !! I ordered a white fish ceviche..., the fis was smelly not fresh at all and overcooked with the lemon juice and the most important thing... the half of the shell of a little ROACH at the center of the plate must be the garnish they used tho! the chef said that I wasnt right that it was part of an onion!! Yes, right !!! GROSS... Definitely not even 1 Star to this expirence!!
Great parihuela soup, which is hard to find. Best soup in the world, imo!!! The only place Ive been able to find escabeche de pescado tío. In Perú, you have to call a day ahead of time to get this at most restaurants. Better quality fish, granted, but still great to find escabeche de pescado in my neighborhood. Great find!!!!
What a disgusting place, a margarita costs $15, you order 2 and end up paying $48 for 2 margaritas. it is becoming common that they give you the included tip and they put the percentage they want. Ive been to Bares de Gringos and not even they give you a RIDICULOUS tip. What a disgusting place a manager has to monitor for this.
Friends recommend this place and it meets their expectations, just a comment on the food since it feels without that love and Peruvian flavor, otherwise the service is excellent, clean, pleasant, familiar and calmPersonally, there is a waitress from Colombia who has a pleasant aura, she will surely make the establishment much more pleasant.
I liked the food and the atmosphere at first was nice, then when the game started they started to put more tables with little distance (The photos were taken before the game), the truth was not very pleasant having so many people around because of the pandemic but hey ... They also charge the entrance on game days lol I didnt know 😅the food was delicious and the service was good.
The worst Peruvian restaurant Ive ever seen, prices at 5th avenue levels. I ordered lomo saltado and the taste was horrible, they never put soy sauce or vinegar on it, which is the cheapest, when I see the receipt it said lomo “saltado de entrails” the dish says LOMO. A purple chicha with soap flavor, a separate disaster includes the tip🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. Never go to eat at that garbage restaurant if you can call it that, it is cheaper to eat on 5th avenue than to eat in this dump... do not give away your money in this disgusting place
One of the best experiences in terms of attention and atmosphere that I have received in all of NYC, the Bartenders Paty and Priscila spent time being charismatic and making all my guests feel comfortable!!! Super good prices and PUFFFF food, delicious.I recommend Lima 100% and believe me that I will not hesitate to enter every time I pass by!!! Greetings and many successes!
#one. The place is fine although I found it a bit unhealthy for the type of restaurant,#two. Apart from that when I went there was only 1 person in charge of sitting, taking order, serving, attending, collecting, cleaningand charging is too much work for just one person the boy tried to do his best but be able to attend all the tables#3. As for the food I asked for a well done skirt steak and they served me raw, still with blood, it was disgusting and after they returned it it was a little better but it was toughThe taste was good, there is no variety on the menu, my husband asked for fish with rice salad and dad and they did not give him lemon or salt there was nothing on the tables or napkins, we had to ask, the drinks took a long time to serve,# 4 Too expensive price is not worth it.I do not particularly recommend it nor will I return.

2022-05-21Service by Claudia was excellent!Food was great. Overall 9.5 out of 10.Even though the restaurant became a night club Friday and Saturday after 7pm. More lighting in earlier hours will make it feel more alive and familiar kind of vibe.Looking forward for next timeThanks!

2022-04-03The music was good but the service was HORRIBLE!! The bucket of beers barely had Ice, I was told the bottle comes with a chaser the they said I could not get a chaser for the bottle of Aguardiente because it was too small. The tip of 18% for a party of 4 waa included although the waitress never checked on us. I would not come back based on the service.

2022-02-18The food is 50/50 here, what sucks is the service. Specifically the server Camila. One she gave my mother an attitude for waving her down since she took forever to take our order. It was an empty restaurant, and there was only a two top there with us. Two, it was my birthday and we asked her to please put our ice cream cake in the freezer. When we asked for it towards the end of our dinner, she gave the cake to us basically melted. When we asked her if she put in in the freezer, she said she put it where the beers are, which is a COOLER, and then blamed us for bringing it already melted. Which was untrue because we have just bought it from the store before arriving there. Terrible terrible service, only reason I did not go off on her was for respect for my own family. I didn’t even want to give her the gratuity she put on the tab. I’m a server myself and I have never written a bad review , so for me to take my time and write this out…is crazy to me. Will never come here again and do not recommend if you’re trying to spend a nice time out. I’m disgusted.

2022-03-19I went to Lima with my friend and i can honestly say it was a great experience the food was good, drinks were good and we got a service in especially with Patricia. Shes a very sweet girl she was on top of our food service and in especially with our drinks. Aside from that there was a great dj playing music, we danced all night. I will definitely be coming back here and i recommend it to anyone looking to eat geat food and also have a good time.

2022-04-24So me and my fam went here sometime towards the end of February. From the outside, the restaurant looked like it closed down or as if the owner sold it because there was a sign that said repair or something like that. We were about to go to a different restaurant until a lady came and opened the door for us. We let her know that the outside display looked like as if the restaurant had closed down and would repel potential customers. During our dinner service it was mostly empty with a few families eating and a music group started playing loud as if the restaurant was packed and a full night atmosphere when it wasnt and this annoyed my parents greatly. We got the bill for our food and they charged us so much including a default gratuity of 20% which is ridicolous. I also used the bathroom and the toilet was broken. Yes, i couldnt flush the toilet and came out the bathroom embarrassed for the next few guests going in. I have no idea why this Peruvian restaurant downgraded so much compared to prior years!

2022-05-16Horrible bartenders they need to learn how to bartend, service was horrible sat with my friend and all they wanted was for us to buy a bottle which we didn’t like, asked for margaritas and they didn’t have, don’t recommend it plus tip is already taken off. With bad service better places out there .

2022-01-17Live music Sunday night. Nice ambience if you like loud spanish music. Nice staff and food was good (pasta was warm). One bad thing I noticed and was really upset about was my fork/knife was dirty!!! I use my phone flashlight to check, stains were on them!? The place is dark so you wont notice it. I say check your utensils always

2022-02-20A total disappointment. As a native Peruvian I was expecting a different crowd and music. I was there on Friday 18th 2022 and there were 21 year old children , the music was nothing but some new vulgar Reggaeton ( I like reggaeton I am a millennial but the songs that were produced that night were just disgusting) , rather than putting some typical Peruvian soundtracks , salsa, merengue , musica criolla and what’s currently playing in Peru. To top it all , as I wasn’t happy with the environment I just ordered 1 beer because I couldn’t stand to be there more than 1 hour and I’ve never paid more for a beer and I’ve been to high end restaurants and bars including abroad. 10 dollars for a 1 beer and the waitress had the audacity to charge me 4 dollars extra so it was a total of 14 dollars for a beer! I am beyond disappointed and feel disrespectful to feel basically robbed.

2021-12-31If I could, I would give this place (-5 🌟) I have been to bad places, but Lima is by far the worst place Ive ever been. To begin with, service was horrendous. Our waitress was rude, she was pushy, and had cero knowledge of the food she was serving. I ordered some ki d of fish with seafood they have on the menu (peruvian cuisine is known for its amazing seafood dishes.) Little that i knew, It was disgusting! It was bland, it was chewy, I couldnt swallow the only calamari piece I put in my mouth. There was some kind of sauce that had a faul smell. I couldnt eat it. My wife ordered chicken, the center was cold and raw, her salad must of been days old. The rest of our party had pretty much the same complaints. There was one other table with two people, and we sat there for nearly 2 hours before they brought our food. My bill for four people was nearly 300 bucks no alcohol just 2 sodas and water. Our waitress had the nerve to add 20% gratuity the bill. I know better not to return food to the kitchen, or argue with anybody about gratuity, specially when you have a rude waitress.I would not recomend this place to anybody.
