I came here for my birthday dinner and left full and happy! Everyone was friendly and the food was fantastic! My husband and I had baked clams for an appetizer, I had fettuccine with kale and mushrooms, my husband had the linguini with clams and chorizo and for dessert we had the donuts. Everything was truly amazing!
Upscale restaurant located in the center of downtown ardsley. Very attentive staff and very attractive restaurant. The restaurant is a little small. But they actually have a very beautiful backyard that theyve made. They have a live band starting at 7:30 at night the food is spectacular with. Very unique dishes there was nothing I did not like. Again a little pricey but well worth it
Decided to finally venture out into the world again with dining capacity increasing now in NY. Was not disappointed, everything was absolutely fabulous. We started with the whipped ricotta with honey and bread then moved to gnocchi and chicken parm.Everything was fresh, quickly served, and beautifully plated. Thank you for keeping everything so safe, clean, and making us feel so welcomed.Welcome back to indoor dining.
What a great Italian restaurant! It was refreshing to have a menu that was not typical for the food category. Yes, there were the classics, but a wonderful variety of beautifully executed dishes was also available. The wait staff could not Have been nicer, and the service was excellent. We were there at a popular time, so the volume was a bit loud, but we could still talk with a raised volume. We will definitely return.
You always hear about restaurants where people claim the food is great or even amazing, but I am usually disappointed. Well, not at Linizio! The food here was truly awesome. Every appetizer and every entree we ordered was outstanding. Service and ambiance were also top notch. I HIGHLY recommend!!
From the endless sea of typical Italian restaurants in Westchester, L’inzio stands out as something truly interesting and worth remembering. The place is quaint and has great atmosphere. But the food is the real story here. Unique takes on Italian dishes you think you know, elevate the food to another level. I must say this was one of the most exciting meals I’ve had in long time. Service is okay but nothing special. I will gladly be returning and urge others to try it.
We had very high hopes for this place after looking into it. We weren’t impressed at all. The rigatoni carbonara tasted like chicken bouillon with no creamy consistency whatsoever and the appetizers although ok tasting were obnoxiously small. Service had room for improvement as well.
A few good vegan options but not many with protein. The Cauliflower Steak was a made with perfection: the combination of the hummus, chimichurri and other spices and roasted spices/vegetables was exceptional. This should be made into a full sized portion -- instead of a small plate -- with quinoa and maybe some cannellini beans to make a complete meal with protein. Crispy Brussel Sprouts app was deliciously crispy and cooked with perfection although just a tad salty. Avocado Toast was very good. The grain bowl was just fine but there was nothing special about it and we would not get it again. The non-vegans in our party had the burger which they said was outstanding as were the fried potatoes that came with it. The octopus was exceptional but we were disappointed by the amount of Octopus compared to the high amount of Potato Hash. This was our second time there and our server needs to be a bit more versed in what is vegan and what is not and what options the Chef can offer for vegans (e.g., what pastas can be made vegan? Are they all made with egg in the dough, etc?) Overall, this place is exceptional on the freshness and quality of farm to table food.
Amazing food! The place is on the smaller side so reservations - highly recommended. Everything is home made with fresh ingredients and LOVE. We cannot wait to go back. The owners husband (chef) and wife (pastry chef) are an absolute amazing team. You will not be disappointed - I promise you.
5 stars to grab your attention. PLEASE be careful when dining here, especially with children. At first, after enjoying what seemed to be a pleasing and gastronomically enjoyable meal, they attempted to stick me with a check that didnt match (or even resemble) our order (big $$ in their favor) and then, to add insult to injury, they charged me $22 for a plain bowl of boiled spaghetti for my 8 year old! I live in Ardsley but Ill never eat here again, too bad for them because Im a frequent restaurant diner 😕. Obviously, to my way of thinking, theyre trying to tell me that this is not a kid friendly restaurant. 😕
I ordered 3 dinners on Valentine’s Day at 230 pm on Valentine’s Day. My order was confirmed at 553 pm. I was told to pick up at 640 instead of the 6:30 I requested becUse you have a lot of orders. Frankly I was not even sure if you actually had my order until I called to confirm. I promptly received my order. However when we got home one of the main meals was not there. I came from tarrytown and when I called david said sorry we can pick it up or just get credited for the entree. I was upset by the situation but my husband said to pick it up. When we got there we did get our dinner. David said he was the manager and I simply said that we have been trying to support small businesses but I just can’t believe he didn’t offer to At least comp the entree we received. Considering we had to drive back to tarrytown.I’m highly disappointed with this action. David did not try to do anything to alleviate the situation. By the time we came home the rest of our meals were cold.Sadly while we love your food as I have eaten there frequently when i dined indoors I don’t think I can come back due to his lack of customer service. I work with a company where customer service is our utmost priority for our wholesale mom and pop customers.I am writing this to you so that you are aware that I think you should have better customer service.Thank you. I wasnt going to publicly post this since I just wanted the owners to respond to me. They told me.saturday they would respond. I have not heard a response. Sadly I will.not be returning because they dont value my comment enough to answer me.
A sparkling gem in Westchester! From the call to make a reservation to the table service, everything was excellent. I had the lamb special and my friend had the seafood pasta. Our waiter Michael nicely paired our dinner with wine, so happy with his recommendation. House-made desserts on the menu (pastry chef Heather), a great complement to our evening. Nice ambiance, restaurant is well maintained and this is a place I will think about going back to again. You can order small plates to share, which is something I will do the next time.
So first, food. the grilled octopus is so tender and the chicory salad is v sweet but still pretty good. mushroom fettuccine is amazing, pasta not overcooked and good mushroom to pasta ratio. cheesecake is also really good, comes in a jar which is a little too hip, but the people I was with said it was maybe the best cheesecake and the lemon curd on top is 👌🏼nice ambience, great service
Food is good as well as the atmosphere. Unfortunately I cant say the same thing regarding the service. In three different occasions they served us food and we had no plates or utensils, so the food was sitting on the table getting cold. They charged us Manhattan prices with lodge restaurant customer service. Too expensive.
Amazing place, definitely the best Italian restaurant and one of the best restaurants in Westchester. The bread was magnificent, and the house made pasta is a must try. I took my girlfriend, at the time, there on our first date and it was very memorable. We went on Monday, where many wine bottles were 50% off making it even better.
Better a year ago. If I hadnt asked for an item to be cut in half, I would have been served something I told them I had an allergy to. The beer taps need to be cleaned. Frozen out seated at the a/c blowing, I needed the keep my hood up. Service was sub par, the food was mediocre compared with a year ago. Their magic disappeared.
Just had an outstanding dinner here. Apps were great, squash soup was flavorful and very light compared to the pasty versions I’ve had at other establishments. Pasta was portioned very well- not too much- and was all great. We had carbonara and bolognese, both were fantastic. Dessert was excellent, the donuts are a must. The only slight negative was the service. Servers were attentive and all, but our main waiter forgot a drink. It was ok, didn’t miss it amongst all that great food!
Excellent. First time visit most satisfactory. Special salad of beets, walnuts etc was excellent. Arugula salad was ok, but a bit cold. Mushroom risotto was good. Wine excellent at a reasonable price ($46). Semifredo was excellent (ice cream, in between sorbets and gelato). Staff was very professional hard working and nice. We will be back.
I visited Linizio as part of the Taste of Westchester program through the Westchester Community College. I was absolutely blown away by the uniquely incredible cuisine. Not only was it fascinating to the be a part of an intimate learning experience but Chefs Scott and Heather Fratangelo were remarkably endearing. Their imagination and approach to food is something that must not be missed. If you have not visited Linizio yet... go now and go often!
If I could give this place a zero I would for the horrible service we received last night. We eat out very often so I’m always looking for new restaurants to try and I found this restaurant so I made reservations. Once we arrived we ordered drinks and waited a while and even got our drinks before one of the waiters came by “finally” with a basket and put “one slice of bread” on each plate. We ordered the 18 month old prosciutto di Parma which was excellent and the Cauliflower Rice and Quinoa salad which we didn’t really care for.For our main course I ordered the market steak which was a NY strip and it was cooked as I asked , medium but the meat was a little a tough, my husband ordered the Sweet potato gnocchi which was ok, still none of the dishes had a wow factor. Now my mother in law got the “Chicken Scapariello”and my father in law another pasta dish.So we all started eating, when my mother in laws pulls a long hair out of her mouth, we were all disgusted and choked that this happened, totally not expecting that something like this would happened in a fancier restaurant (all the dishes run about 29 and up). Now her dinner was ruined. We called the waiter who came and my mother in law gave him the hair to see if he can check in the kitchen maybe someone that needs to tighten their hair. And he took the plate with him, then another waiter came in who I believe was the manager and apologized and offered to remove her dish from the check and he asked if he could get her something else, my other in law ordered another Chicken Scapariello but her experience was ruined already but anyway she waited for her dish and it arrived cold which was probably the same chicken she had gotten before with the hair.We get the check and “they never removed” her dish. The waiter said that it was removed and then added back on. Then the hostess who is the “owner” comes rudely and says to us that we still ordered another the chicken and we ate it, it doesn’t matter that our experience was ruined and that the waiter offer to remove it as a remedy for what just happened. Which is what any restaurant would do and specially this overpriced restaurant. I had higher expectations. The owner went on to tell us that they have a restaurant in NYC and they are very successful. This nice person that greeted us suddenly became an irrational human being that had the audacity to tell us that we still ate and we shouldn’t expect to get anything for free. It’s not about the $29 overpriced chicken dish, we have no problem spending and paying for it, it’s the principle and that’s not how you treat customers.

2022-06-14The food is delicious. Highly recommend the octopus appetizer! The steak came out cold and I’m assuming it was done first before the pastas we ordered. It was still good and filling. I loved the rigatoni pasta, by far the best. The drinks are very light but tasty. I will be returning soon to try out something new. 10/10

2020-08-12Indoor dining is available! We had a great dinner at L’inizio. We ordered octopus salad, cold plate and chicken liver toast as appetizers. My husband had the curry crispy pork tenderloin with corn salad and it was delicious! I had the homemade squid ink pasta with seafood. Finished the meal with berries tart and house flavored donut with chocolate sauce. Clean dining area and friendly staff.

2018-06-23One of the best Italian restaurants in the corner, L’inizio proposes very well executed dishes from the appetizers through the desserts with quality ingredients . A good kind of comfort food when you need something familiar yet different. It’s like going to diner at the place of a friend who can cook simple menus like you do at home but somewhat there is something undefinable special. A place where you can eat as a consolation as well as celebration.

2021-01-23Always a great experience at L’inizio! Farm fresh, small batch ingredients that create amazing flavor. We had the chicken parmigiana that came with a salad on the side filled with greens, radishes, carrots and other delicious thing. We also ordered the Brussels and an incredible meaty pasta dish. Everything is done with thought and care. It’s been the closest experience to eating at a restaurant(while eating at home)! Attached pics here :)

2020-10-21Very fine dining experience. This place is not Olive Garden, it is authentically prepared Italian. Service was phenomenal. I had the flounder special , Brussel Sprouts and bread pudding.

2021-10-10Such a beautiful comfy restaurant. Staff and Owner David were so welcoming. The food was great. Such a unique delicious menu. Not your basic Italian but a great twist to it which I think is so much better.I really recommend this place. Well be back for sure !

2020-08-02I may be biased, but Ive known Chefs Scott and Heather back in the Manhattan days with their restaurant Spigolo. Anyone whos been there will understand how upset I, as a fan, was when they uprooted and moved to Ardsley.Fast forward a few years, I finally get to visit their restaurant LInizio, and its better than I remember Spigolo ever was. Baked Clams and chicken liver crostini were hits with my dinner mates, who werent fans of shellfish or chicken liver. The carbonara is tasty rich goodness, but not so much that youre feeling full and useless after. Seasonal entrees like branzino and scallops are well presented and amazingly tasty, but do yourself a favor, and try the butternut squash parmigiana. It will blow your mind. Just make sure you save some room for dessert, as the bomboloni MUST be dipped into the affogado (2 separate dishes, but they were 1 item back in the NYC days. Our secret, ok?)

2018-05-18Very nice restaurant, good family feel. We went for mothers day. I felt that the kids meal portions were small. Cocktails were good - beer list very short but good. Id absolutely go again and suggest it to others.
