This is an architectural marvel. Individual standing pods ,standing in the West side of Manhattan near 14th street, creates an amazing, and stunning, public structure for all to enjoy. I stopped after 8PM and you can see many people were enjoying the evening at sunset. This is a great place for couples, families, tourists, and a native New York like myself.
Lovely escape from the city in the city. The small stage had a rehearsal, it was beautiful to watch talented people and their hard work. The island is pleasant to walk and enjoy the flowers and the greenery. The restrooms are very clean and well maintained.
Even on a cloudy day - we had a great time taking in this little slice of heaven. There are so many different types of plants and flowers to look at. It’s worth a visit. We went before 11am so it was less crowded.
It is really a nice little island. There are a lot of seats and things with that you can play. The view is fantastic and you should go in the evening. There are restrooms but in the evening they are close. It is the same with the food trucks. There is an open stage where there can be events in summer and the audience can sit around it.
This park is pretty and designed to be fully accessible with ramps and benches everywhere. Its cool but theyre are other parks and tourist attractions Id pick before this one. You have to make a free, timed reservation to visit.
Another NYC wonder! Little Island is a fun spot for exercise, relaxation, passive enjoyment, and views, views, views! We visited in early January 2022. The good news is it was practically empty with only a few brave tourists fighting the winds; the not-so-great news is that it was very cold so be aware of this when you visit in the winter. Much colder than the rest of the city so dress accordingly! Nevertheless, Little Island is picturesque and very beautifully done. There is ample seating and a few musical art installations as well as some whirligigs. Timed entry is in place during busy warmer months but during the winter, just walk right in! Across from the High Line, Meatpacking District, and the wonderful Chelsea Market so plan on spending the entire day in the area.
The second my friend posted about this park, I added it to my list for my next NYC trip.When we went back in October, you needed tickets to get in on weekends after a certain time. It looks like they stopped in the winter and its unclear whether theyll come back. They were free. We went early enough that we didnt need tickets.This might be my new favorite park in NYC. Its a close competition with the High Line. I love the design of the park. Its small, but it doesnt feel like it. You can still get lost. Its hilly and there are great views.This is definitely a must visit spot!
Its free for now and you can still walk around, but no lounging on the grass. But when summer hits, the crowds will make it hard to get through it. Great fries at the food truck. Fun views and perspective of the city.
Beautiful man made Park. We road the citi bikes there from our hotel. You cant bring bikes into the park but there is a citi bike stand across the street. Park is free and is wheelchair friendly, no swings just walking paths. There are some great views though! Plenty of places to sit and a concession stand. The day we went no show was taking place but there are 2 areas for shows. Bathrooms are well maintained.
A great place to take a stroll and relax. The views are beautiful and the landscaping is impeccable. When we went, multiple people were taking naps in the amphitheater seating, including myself! The best part about this place is that its free.
It is a small artificial island with free access, to combine with the visit to the High Line. There are viewpoints with beautiful views, although keep in mind that the place is usually very crowded.It also offers some optical or musical themed games and a place to sit down to rest or have a snack.The time to go through it and take advantage of the games is between 60 and 90 minutes.An interesting proposal.
Not as expected!!May be a decent park to walk and run around for hudson yards residents but not a great tourist spot….Been here early morning to explore the viewpoints and added all the best spots from this park…Can visit one time after you are all done with other tourist attractions….
This place is so cute and its free! There are some cool chairs that you can sit on it and spin. you probably can spend one hour here If you have extra time in NYC you can visit it here. I wish the weather could be nicer, but its NYC :(
Such a beautiful concept! Great design, fabulous use of space, the location on the Hudson make the views stunning! Although not big it feels spacious. Being a garden it will change from season to season so it will always be worth a visit and it also looks amazing at night time with all the lights up!
Little Island is great and very cute but a lot of areas were blocked off so you couldn’t go all the way to the top (no explanation why). I was fairly surprised how small it was and varying in levels. There’s not a lot of open space to lounge, which I was kind of expecting in a park - artificial or not. Not sure if I’ll go back, think I’d rather just go to the High Line
It’s a lovely park to spend some time with nature. Make sure to go early morning or during sunset because that is when the park is pretty. Even going on a cloudy day is fine because it gets very hot and humid on a bright sunny day.
If you havent seen it on Instagram yet, the crowds at Little Island will show you this place is popular. Built on the pier where the Titanic survivors came to NYC through in 1912, the public park is cutting edge. With a tiered design that incorporates urban with nature, there are stunning views of the city from the top. Along the way are benches, public art, restrooms in caves and a amphitheater.
Excellent place to spend the late afternoon & evening with family. They have an open food court, but options are quite limited. We have seen some people brought their takeaway food from outside, seem like a good idea. Restrooms are hygienic & clean. Downtown views are great from top deck. Amphitheater was closed, but we will come back for the concert soon. It takes advance online entry booking (free) on weekends & holidays. Weekdays has unrestricted access.
Kids and I made this our last place to visit before leaving New York. Great place to walk around. The structure was was artfully crafted. Great place to watch the sun set and conveniently there was an ice cream truck parked pretty close. Did we get ice cream? Yes. Yes we did.
Indeed little but amazingly big when inside! This place is beautiful for spending an entire evening in here. Music shows, food , great views, tons of grass… I highly recommend this place!!
Amazing little gem. It’s a floating park that has a beautiful trail and amphitheater. There are small gems around (music stepping tiles and hypnosis wheel).It was definitely worth the subway trip.
This park is really beautiful, love that its by the water side and if you sit on the bleacher seats and you can get a nice view of the sunset. Theres lots of hills and steps to climb to get to the top of each section of the park, which is pretty cool to get pictures from different angles. There are tables and chairs on the flatter surface when you first enter the park. Usually the park goes by reservations but its open to walk ins at anytime up to a certain date, so go now while you can!
The Little island, which opened recently in 2021, is a great place to explore with friends/dates. Theres 2 entrances to get on the man made island. So far Monday to Wednesday is free to public, any other day reservations are needed. There are giant boulders to walk on as a shortcut to advance towards different elevations of the park if stairs and ramps are too basic for you. Theres a lot of natural benches to sit on throughout the park. Amphitheater for some relaxation and plenty of grassy areas( no pets) when permitted, to lie down on. There are gyroscopic chairs to tumble in and scare yourselves into falling, which may happen if gravity leans too much 1 way. The scenic view of West ny and East NJ is great to see everyday.
A beautiful gem of a park located on the river bank. It is easily accessible from the Hudson River Park trail. You can run or walk directly from one to another without missing a step. There are no bikes or pets allowed on the island. While here be sure to take time to soak in the amazing views.
This place is beautiful and free. 100% worth a go if you have a chance. Especially in the summer. Wear something light. It is probably one of the most beautiful parks I have seen. Its busy though. I had a wonderful time
Its actually very nice. They have different events. But when there is one event happening, they are doing sound check in the back for a different event and some people are randomly playing the piano they put in the cafe area. And that can be very distracting and disrespectful to the performers. The schedule needs to be organized in a better fashion.
I was recommended to visit the island by a friend and it was the best attraction in New York! The view of New York is spectacular! The island structure is amazing! Like a flower water floating in the water! It is very close to Chelsea market so if you are around definitely worths your time!
Very cool park on the river... literally as this is a rebuild of Pier 57 in the Hudson. For land reference - its essentially out the back of Chelsea Market at West Side Highway. Multi-level park with various viewpoints, a grassy amphitheater and outlook down the Hudson to the Statue of Liberty. Lots of instagramable spaces. Watch for bike traffic as you cross the bike path entering the Pier, pedestrians give way to bikes while crossing.
Due to the island being pretty small and being over-crowded, I wasnt able to really enjoy myself. But then again, this was my experience during the summer so Im not sure how it is now. The best part about this place would be the view and the different types of plants you can find there. Do not go there thinking you can have a picnic on the grass because you cant sit on the grass. Its just there to look pretty. I recommend going to the Little Island during the sunset hours so you can watch the sun set. And then sit and have a couple of drinks with friends. Its less crowed during the night , and the lights are really pretty, and thats the best time to have fun with friends!
Little Island is an incredibly unique and perfect public space in NYC. Located on the waterfront near the west village, they managed to create a beautiful public park out of nothing! It’s small but there are still lots of nice paths and views to explore. Food options and music when the weather is nice and even clean restrooms! Take your time exploring, sitting on the grass and escaping the chaos of NYC. Make sure you check in advance to see if reservations are required when you are planning on visiting.
Great place to visit for first timers. More relaxing spot in nyc with greenery and solid views of the Hudson. Theres a small seating areas with shows from time to time. In addition, there are some food cart options as well.
Such a cute place to visit on a nice sunny day!! You can walk around the little path and take a seat anywhere on the grass or the rocks. They have I think two places to purchase food. There are seats and tables where you can sit and eat or enjoy a coffee or a drink. You get great views of New Jersey…Hoboken, Jersey City. You also get to take great pics of the city. It wasn’t super crowded but I can imagine that it can get crowded. We will def come back :)
Super unique park with a fair amount to see. They have some really funky interactive elements and beautiful foliage throughout. If you can make it over at sunset, the views are spectacular! Seems pretty accessible, there were ramps all throughout the park.
Come during sunset!Little Island is man-made and a semi engaging art installation within a park that includes a theater right on the water. I went April 2022 and I did not have any reserved tickets to reserve, but that might be coming back so I would look it up (they had reserved tickets so the park wouldnt be too crowded and people could enjoy it).Very cute little park on the West side and its such a cool spot to see the city especially during sunset. I want to come back when its a little warmer and were allowed to sit on the grass again so we could eat and chill. Very very cute date spot!Tip: they have a bathroom on the bottom floor in a little tunnel area. Bathroom is actually not too bad, just make sure there’s toilet paper in the stalls just like any other public restroom.
An artificial island that floats on Hudson River. Comfortable place to walk around. Nice scenary. Better to visit in the morning, after 11:00 it is very crowded and visitors are restricted.
A good place to visit during fall or spring. Its usually crowded by tourists, but the best time to visit it is around 1:00 p.m.. it looks pretty from outside and theres a good view from inside.Plenty of spots to take good pictures from of yourself and of the view.
Really cool park to walk around to take some pics and grab some snacks. They usually have a ticket reservation system, but I came with my friends on a random Saturday and no ticket needed. They have some food trucks, an amphitheater, and grassy areas to lay down. Fun place to check out, but just beware it can get crowded on the weekends. Ill definitely come back during sunset or the evening to check out the views
Very romantic place to go on a date, with wifey or with family and friends. They have 2 food truck vendors selling burgers/ chicken and vegan sandwiches and ice cream. Bring a bottle of wine. This area has one of the best sunsets in NYC
Super nice new structure close to the meatpacking district. The area is nicely made and there are several outlooks with views of downtown, the One WTC and hudson river. There are also several areas to sit and enjoy a break on a nice day. Many joggers here in the morning.
Its has an amazing view.. and its beautiful. Its also a great place to just spend time around.Whenever you visit, you might want to check the weather though .. because if there are strong winds, they close a portion. The same happened with me! But nonetheless its beautiful!
A tranquil escape just a short distance from the hustle and bustle of the city. The intriguing architecture and amazing landscaping make this a nice getaway contrasting the backdrop of tall skyscrapers and density in the city. Entrance is free. I hope to attend a live event at the amphitheatre facing the water one day.
My wife and I happened upon this on a stroll on a late evening. We didnt know what we were getting into but it was such a fantastic little find. It was quiet, right by the water and you could obviously see the city. What a quiet little gem right next to the Chelsea market. Cant wait to get back there another time!
This is the best park to visit. It is a beautiful man made creation on the hudson river with beautiful skyline views. It is near high line park. Go during sunset time and have a great view. They have restrooms as well. They have their own food trucks inside and many tables and chairs to sit and eat. Ticket is free but you need to reserve for weekend. You can go before time also.
Super cool spot. Supposedly you need a reservation to come here but we came on a Sunday night when it was pretty cold out and didnt need a reservation.I didnt see any bathrooms while I was there so dont plan on finding them.Theres plenty of different spots to check out to get different views of NYC and Jersey that you normally cant. Great place to go for pictures.
The same designer of the vessel!!Came here the week of their pandemic debut.Not far from 8th ave L train station.Who knew this was much needed!? Try to stay when the sun is out until sun down because it is totally worth it.You can just sit down in the grass relax and enjoy the skyline.I also tried their burgers which is a little pricey but when you’re with a hungry family you can’t go wrong.Did I mention admission is free?!?
I really like it, it is a really nice place. But you need tickets to get in, specially at weekends, so I recommended check the availability before and book it! (really easy).I prefer to go to this beautiful park on week days because you don’t need tickets before 11:30am. It has a few stairs to get to the top, but the landscape is amazing. You have places to eat and rest with your family or friends. It is a perfect place to get pretty good Instagram photos.
Very beautiful views of Manhattan and a few sections of Jersey on a chilly January Saturday evening. The Island is small but lovely and unique; a welcome detour along the West Sides edge and our beloved Mahicannituck River.
This place remind me of something humans would build in a post apocalyptic world to give people a sense of normalcy and a place to remember the simple things that would bring us joy like a walk in a park. I wish I had dressed better for the occasion as the wind by the river dipped the temp down quite a bit but we loved this little island. Its a great place for a sunset view and a view of the city. Definitely something unique to do that you wont find somewhere else.
Little island, not too little with lots of things to look at. The beautiful view of the Hudson River, flowers and the fun of walking up and down. Recommended for both kids and adults to take a little break here.
A new addition to NYC parks. Besides just romantic trails it has performance amphitheater that hosts some performances during warm season. I wish it could be warmer when I was there, but hot or cold weather is irrelevant as a great place to witness a spectacular sunset over the Hudson River with Manhattan skyline.

Lots of fun at this park! You need a reservation to get in on the weekends or later in the day during the week, but it’s easy to do online. A unique and well-designed area right on the Hudson River. Beautiful plants and flowers, nice views, fun winding paths to walk, and an amphitheater. Great little park!
Little Island is an amazing park with a lot of stuff to do! There are restrooms as well. The food provided is extraordinary as well with the french fries being my personal favorite. Definitely worth another visit! Ive attached some photos of the amazing scenery.
It’s free and is a little island so this is a quick excursion. There are food vendors if you go early. Beautiful view York city views of freedom tower and other landmarks. Go at sunset!
Nice park to walk around and appreciate the sunset . Very nice spot by the River . Easy to get to, only 10 min from 14 st / 8th ave . The bathrooms are very clean as well . There are food trucks that sell basic food and beverages.
Ive been to NYC so many times and Ill definitely recommend this spot to people like me. Its free, pretty, and full of interesting spots. Amazing space for people to relax!
Definitely add this to your list to come visit ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️Take the subway , catch a uber or Lyft , bus , walk lol but honestly come here . Bring a nice snack or lunch and a hot coffee or a smoothie and enjoy this place !I came with my friend the first time and we loved it ! It was windy and cold so we had nice jackets .The second time I came early in the morning and I loved it ( was not crowed at all ) I brought my breakfast and enjoyed it !I loved it ♥️♥️♥️You can come alone , with your friends , on a date , with your family , kids , co workers it’s a beautiful place to stop , take a deep breath and enjoy the nice grass , scenery !The bathrooms are clean , they have security. I felt safe ♥️♥️♥️♥️Come and thank me later ♥️♥️♥️♥️
This is a neat little area along the boardwalk, a great use of space. Lots of people out exploring, walking their dogs, running etc. City winery right next door was on my list but didn’t have time to check it out.
We made a quick stop here just enjoy the beautiful Saturday weather. It was a bit crowded which is understandable for the time and day. It has gorgeous views and everyone just wanted good pictures. There is a small stage which no doubt will host amazing shows throught the summer
Amazing place for a quick walk through gardens, sightseeing, and to grab a quick bite. Currently it is free to visit, but there are times that require a reservation to visit. My reservation time ended up being sold out by the time I arrived and it was quick to enter and the island had enough space to comfortably fit everyone to explore. This unique place had many walkways, gardens aplenty and various one of kind picture spots. Food was very quick albeit standard fare. This is a must visit.
What a unique and even whimsical place to catch views, relax, or even play. The paths and gardens are lovely, theres fun musical toys(?) to play with [kids and cool adults], and numerous places to sit and chat. The architecture here is fascinating, and theres actually some interesting history associated with the location that has also been preserved.
Looks super awesome, but they require tickets in advance. The tickets are for an hour block and you cant get them for the active hour. So if you arrive at 12:05 like we did, you need to go online, and request a ticket for 1:00 and wait 55 minutes until the next hour. There was a large group of people at the entrance and like us no one knew they required advanced tickets.
Beautiful park. There are stroller friendly paths, rock climbing shortcuts and stairs. Fantastic views of NYC skyline, Jersey and Statue of Liberty. There are is an amphitheater and interactive art installations trickled around this little park.
It is a lot smaller than expected. Definitely cooler if you see it from outside because the most interesting part is the platform underneath. The island itself is like a small artifical hill with people walking along it in circles like a winding toy. Also, it is extremely crowded.
Nice place to hang out and relax. Its open to the public now. During covid season ..it was hard to come here since you need to make reservations just to enter.
Great experience, clean, tranquil and peaceful environment. Wasn’t too crowded when I visited on 06.05.22, I booked reservations in predetermined demand for my mom & I ,however when I arrived at the location reservations wasn’t required for admission maybe because it wasn’t too much crowd/foot traffic, bathroom was super clean, staff Customer Service was excellent.
Its a small park on the westside of Manhattan. Beautiful to look at from the outside. The audio tour is totally worth it because it adds layers of understanding that go unappreciated. Great park but its at most a 40min trip. Went in the fall with no tickets or timed admission. Not worth the wait in the summer.
Visited Little Island at the beginning of the summer and I’ll say its a pretty cool and unique place. Lots of photo ops & a nice place to have a picnic. Its fairly easy to get tickets online.
Had a wonderful visit to Little Island! Views are impeccable. A feast for the senses all the way around. Beautiful flowers, grasses and foliage add to the charm. Loved it!!
A nice little man made island. Very well designed . It has a nice seating area for picnicking. A nice view. Theres an Amphitheatre. There is fun visual puzzles and musical puzzles to explore
Nice new little park on the river. Though, it’s SUPER crowded. So be prepared lol it’s also timed entry, so ticket is required ahead of time to enter. I personally enjoyed it, and would go back again. I was with my sister and we had stroller but we had no problem in going around. Very impressively wheelchair accessible design.Perfect for all occasions. Though there is not much food option besides the food truck in the park and not much around in near area to grab anything either, so that’s something to keep in mind.
Not as much of a tourist attraction, but it really should be! Walking on this architectural marvel felt like a breath of fresh air, it was like a bubble of calm in the city. entrance is free, but make sure to request timed entry tickets before arriving!
A beautiful, innovative, and distinctive structure is standing on concrete pillars rising from the Hudson River. It’s free to enter the park; but, an online tickets reservation is required for entry after 12 pm. A unique view from the lifted corners is delightful. They have performances ( opera, amph shows, and artists series ) scheduled at intervals throughout the day. Park has food trucks and clean restrooms. Highly skillful and courteous staff members on the ground.
Nice little park for a walk. It has some small interactive stuff built in to create music or visual tricks. Lots and lots of different flowers and foliage. We enjoyed it.
Brilliant park that reaches into the Hudson River giving great views of Jersey City, the business district and also the Statue of Liberty can be seen in good visibility.
Well I have to say I rarely buy into hype but this time I have to admit it was well deserved. This place is truly remarkable. My wife and I visited for the first time this evening just as the sun was setting over the horizon and what a treat we were in for. We brought along a picnic dinner and found a perfect spot to eat in the shaded dining area while being serenaded by the wonderful volunteer pianists. It was a beautiful evening with the temperature in the mid 70s with a slight cooling breeze and there was quite a buzz for a Tues. evening - we could only imagine what it must be like on the weekends. Still, the cleanliness is impeccable and the magnificent landscaping with lush greenery gives it a distinctly exotic flair, and as night fell the artfully placed accent lighting everywhere with the breathtaking back drop of the city lights made it feel magical. This is a rare gem not to be missed and indeed lives up to the hype.
Cool architecture and design; pleasant little park to take a stroll and sink in some views of NJ and downtown Manhattan. Very close to the high line and Chelsea market. Not too crowded now that its been opened for a while.
To be honest went here to see ALL the hype. Went on a Sunday mid morning before noon. Gorgeous day, not too hot, a bit windy -just right. Yes it was crowded. The views are awesome BUT there really is nothing to do inside the little island. There will be a scheduled performance here and there but nothing else. Food was a but pricey. Limited shaded area. But the staffs are friendly and very helpful.
Not worth the hype. The first time our parents went they said we needed tickets. We went with them the second time and they weren’t checking for tickets but the place was a mad house!! People congregating at the top where the best views are so you can’t even take pictures. No where to sit in the grass because there are way too many people.

Short: Fun experience for free!Long: Id recommend visiting it while doing the high line walk. Its a small artificial island standing on pillars. On top theres plenty of entertainment, even a small theater and a variety of nice views on the city (not the usual well known vistas but still nice)
An amazingly poetic little oasis floating on the Hudson River, one of the city’s action to celebrate the greenery presence and its importance in our lives… built on a palafitte structure that resembles a lilypad bundle, the park gives an enormous amount of views through its up and downs walkways, balconies, trails and beautiful spots to rest. The amphitheater is great, backdropped by the river itself. The walk is filled with aromatic plants that will make you forget you are actually in New York City
First time visiting this park and it was a nice surprise after you finish the High Line. You get a great view of.the city.
Let me start by saying; Food trucks arent the attraction. People want to know about The Island-not a truck that serves food near the island. Having said that, the Island is a very cool idea/attraction/addition and newest member of New Yorks Port history. Briefly; its where the Titanic survivors were brought and where the ill-fated Lusitania last saw land. These days its a futuristic- yet warm and comfortable park-with views of the City, the Verrazano, the Statue of Liberty, and even that state across the Hudson :) I was there in the winter and really dug the scene. Cant wait to catch a show in their amphi theatre when the days/nights are warm. If youre on the West side make sure to swing by. If youre not on the West-swing by anyway. And, its Free!...unless youre going to see a performance. Ive attached photos of very cool-very impressive support system and the over-100-year-old pilings but neglected to shoot any of the parks face...sorry. Enjoy
I love the concept of Little Island and it has great potential! Definitely a location worth seeing as it has great views and a lot sitting. You can people watch, attend an event atrium (?), or see some of the illusion displays. The location is around some other interesting places around Chelsea so if you are out exploring this place is worth a stop!
The place is beautiful. Ive never seen a place like that or built like that.There are some musical instruments built in into some of the structures so you can hear nice music almost everywhere.When we visited, a string quartet played in one of the corners. It was truly a good experience.The only downside to the garden is that theres barely any shade to stand in to escape the heat.
Wonderful place to go and walk around during sunset. Has beautiful flowers and fun activites and interesting gadgets kids can play with.
Great little addition to NYC many small enclaves. Great views and magnificent plant life. Great way to spend some time. Try to avoid the crowds…the crowd really takes away the beauty of this place. Place is a great way to see the neighborhood.
Really cool little island park made out of concrete pillars! Pretty flowers, trees, and a view of the bay, it was really windy when we went so hold on tight to your hats or anything you dont want to blow away!
An unique structure built above the waters that serves up amazing views of the New York City skyline.We visited Friday afternoon, the weather was still humid and slightly overcast. The park was beautiful, but did fall short from my expectations.
Little Island is a park very different than most. Its built right on the water. Youre able to picnic, moderately priced food and beverages are available or you can bring your own. I visited twice, on opening day during the early morning, and Monday evening... If you can I definitely recommend the late evening. Not as many people although you still need to reserve your tickets in advance. Lots of stairs, but also ramps, which makes it completely ADA accessible. Note. that the lawn where you picnic is not available every day, they have rest days. Overall a really nice experience, very clean beautiful surroundings. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Hours are 6 am to 1 am, 7 days a week. If you visit before noon you do not need a reservation. Anything after 12 pm you must reserve a time slot online. Also keep in mind that if there is severely inclement weather the park shuts down... keep that in mind when planning your visit.
Lovely park with lots of greenery and flowers, paved paths on the water with amphitheater, lots of beautiful views, including statue of liberty and world trade center. People jogging, families with strollers, a nice place and watch the water. Free entry, very nice.
I think its a bit overrated however how much should we expect from a park. Its beautiful and a great place to hang for a bit if you need to pass time. Not very big and a lot of people. Decent views too. I think its a destination in passing to other places like the Whitney Museum or restaurants near by. I havent been to the entertainment venue but looks great. I think its best to go in the fall or spring in the evening.
This place is an incredible park 🏞️ and a true hidden gem 💎! The recently opened Little Island 🏝️ is a perfect place to walk around, explore, and relax! While you can cover the entire island in just half and hour, the place has many trees 🌳 and trails 🐾 with great scenic views of the city! 🌁 The park staff is super friendly! I wish I came here more often!
Its very clean and loving the view but since its winter theres no beautiful colors so I will definitely come by in spring and summer.

Beautiful park which includes an outdoor amphitheater which faces the Hudson River. While waiting for a show you will see boats passing by. A lot of places to sit, overlook points on the east & west side of the park. I visited on a Sunday evening around 7:30 pm and the park was filled with visitors.
A nice and unique park a short walk from the High Line. The higher areas were closed because of the wind today, but it was cool to see the rest.

Really lovely spot. It has great views of the skyline and New Jersey. The paths really meander and you can wander quite a bit for a relatively small park. You can tell they were very intentional with their plantings and landscaping in general. There are two amphitheater/performance spaces. There is a little place to get refreshments with places to sit. Random: You get a cool view of the new Jaume Plensa head sculpture from a long ways away across the water. We would highly recommend this place!
A marvelous engineering achievement! Brings even more life to the piers. I have to note their clean and nicely kept bathrooms. Great spot for a picnic date or to the bring the family out for a mini concert at the auditorium
A must see! Lushly landscaped pier with winding path or steps climbing to an observation platform. Terrific views of the skyline and the Hudson River. I went at night and loved it! There is also a very nice amphitheater with entertainment at times.

This right here is little island..... which of course you got fun the name. Its a nice spot just to walk or to take a break and relax. Opens from 0600-0100 the next day but at noon you have to go online to schedule a time. they have breakfast when I went and it was delicious. That chicken sausage, egg and cheese on the brioche bun was everything. The cappuccino was very good too!
This park has fascinating landscaping that is totally unexpected for NYC. I recognized many of the ornamental grasses that we use in the western US but was stumped by some of the tree species. Identification tags would be a nice addition to showcase their design.Also, while not well marked there are public restrooms that are continuously staffed and immaculate. What is NYC coming to?!
I was really impressed by the park. The Amph holds 850 people - excited to see what type of entertainment they host there. Feel free to take some food with you and lay a blanket out to have a picnic. Make sure you book your time to go after 12pm if you want to go in. From 6am-12pm you don’t have to book.Go give it a look! Actually nice to combine walking the whole high line and end it at pier 55 then go there.It will take you only 15 minutes to slowly walk around the pier to check it out. They sell food, drink, coffee and ice cream there.Good work to the designers and the construction workers.
Very interesting and innovative space, loved the plants , views and feeling of being over the river , even with the crowds I could sit on the comfortable benches in the amphitheater and catch some sun.
Really cool place! New York always has something new to offer. Nice for a walk, although it’s usually pretty crowded. You get a great view of the city skyline. Worth a visit!
Beautiful green space out over the Hudson River. Multiple walkways and different levels with small spaces to sit and rest.The fall flowers are blooming and the trees are lush and beautiful.
Been waiting to come to this park for years now, Since I read about it being built. It was a good time the park is built beautifully. The food and drinks need some work tho. Nothing really caught my eye. I got a sangria and sweet potato tots and even that wasnt good. However Little Island has live shows as well. You might have to pay separately for the shows so talk to the staff. I was leaving when one of the shows were starting so I didnt get to enjoy it. Good place for everyone to have fun. You have to go before the summer is over
Dope lil spot to hang out in Manhattan. A Little Island off the coast of Manhattan. Free to enter and they lift the COVID restrictions when it comes to the amount of people. I live in NY and it was my first time today. I know many NYrs who havent been and even more who know nothing about it. If you are in town, do better. Take the trip! Any train to 14th Street and walk down.
This new NYC baby has beautiful architecture but it fails as a tourist attraction. You need to make a reservation on their website to be able to enter after 12 noon (we learned that the hard way), so by the second time we came back we were ready, once you get inside, all you see is a bunch of people taking the very little green areas inside to do some kind of “down hill” picnic. There’s just a few overpriced cold drinks vendors, and you just walk up and down stairs and ramps. Trying to take a worth to keep pictures is a challenge. You definitely can appreciate better the beautiful structure from outside and at night, the lights are beautiful. I would highly recommend to check their summer “on stage” performance schedule to select the entrance time, that way you have something to see.
Its really nice that there is a winding path to the top so you can take a stroller. Kid friendly. There are stairs for the quick ascent. Nice views. Clean.

Fine place to walk around a couple of times, cool little spinny gadgets along the trail. wouldnt go here to relax or sit down like a normal park, theres very little seating or shade.
The island was just better than the pictures. There were also variety music shows! You can get drinks at the food courts too. I will definitely go back to enjoy the weekend.

Lovely! Really clean, well maintained. A bit crowded for a weekday in the middle of the day, but otherwise a great experience. They have nice bathrooms and lots of food truck options for food & drink, as well as shaded sitting areas.
Great place to spend the day walking around the nice and well kept park. The views are amazing, if in the summer a nice breeze if in colder temperature youll freeze. I will definitely recommend for anyone visiting New York City to pass by. I would recommend bring a little snack or something to drink because all stores are our kind of far away from the location. One of my favorite parts is definitely the the park devices that make noises.
Adorable NYC Pier 55 landmark. The park is beautiful and well taken care of. The bathroom is clean 🧼It’s great that they actually have people book a ticket in order to get it or this would be an unbearably crowned place.Little island has beautiful views of lower Manhattan and the piers. This place should be called the ‘Secret Island’ instead of LITTLE ISLAND.It so breathtaking, iconic spot to view part of Downtown New York ,where you can see the One World Trade Center, Midtown and parts of New Jersey. If you want to relax and need some space for deep thinking,i will recommend this place. This is Engineering and Artistry combination at work. You will definitely love it.

A beautiful get away right in the heart of manhattan. A little island above the hudson river is definitely the place to visit while in NYC. Theres an amphitheatre and incredible views of New York skyline as well as New Jersey. There are restaurants or you can bring your own. Great place to take pictures.
Great park to walk thru. Kids and adults will enjoy. Great places for scenic pictures. Although the website states that you need a ticket to enter, no timed entry or people taking tickets as of today August 11th.

Pleasant with beautiful views arround. Amphitheatre would be place to relax and enjoy music if you happen to be there in the evenings/ concert times. Have to book your time to visit if after 12pm. Weekends are slightly crowded at photo view points.
It’s so nice to take strolls and relax on this little island in Spring when flowers all full bloom. You don’t need to reserve tickets before May 12.

This is definitely a nice spot I will recommend it to people who visit NYC. Its pretty crowded on weekends though - visit on weekdays if you can. Otherwise, its a very pretty and cozy little place.

This is a great place to visit and experience something new in NYC. I reserved tickets online which made it easier to get in. Only gave it a 4 star because there is a lot of people in the weekend and during these times I don’t highly recommend many people being around together. Other than that, not really much to do other than chill and eat and enjoy the view from a piers perspective. Was In there for about 15-20min taking pictures and talking with family and friends.
The view around little island park is nice I enjoyed looking out over the Hudson and seeing the boats the buildings I 💘 architecture. Its nice walking around on a pleasant weather day.
Loved the views of New York Hudson river from this location. Its a tranquil place that allows you to enjoy peace and quiet in the midst of our busy and noisy city. I took my uncle and his wife who were visiting from Barranquilla; they loved it. My mom and my aunt also loved it.

Great new park, kids loves it, beautiful view on the Hudson, will be fantastic public area once it’s fully opened(without tickets maybe?). Public restroom is nice and clean(very important for family with kids), the only downside is their official food truck have a “break time” each day, during the very hot period of day. For me, that’s makes ZERO sense. It’s only food truck allowed in the park, we need tickets to get in the park, and park doesn’t have a lot shaded space, and I just want my cold drink! And yes, they will give you ticket number for a bottle of water, you need to then go to the pick up area to get that water. Guess you need REAL food truck personal to do the proper job.
I went back in June. As soon as i heard about the Little Island opening, i quickly went online to make reservations. The tickets were being sold so quickly!The island was much smaller than I anticipated it to be. I had a nice but quick walk. The view was quite nice. I heard that viewing the sunset from there was nice but unfortunately i was there in the afternoon.
If you are in NYC this is a “must” place to go. There Website asks you to book tickets after 12pm to enter, which I did but when I got there you don’t really need them at all. Check the bathrooms, the ceiling is unique. Just opened on May 21 2021, and it cost $200+ million, it covers 2.4 acres, and it’s supported by 132 pot-shaped structures called “tulips”.
Really wonderful addition to NYC. The sunsets are superb from the Little Island. More greenery was really needed for the city.

I was surprised to see the ingenuity behind this architectural marble, winding lanes and steps to climb to observe some beautiful sights of Manhattan’s west side and the coast of New Jersey, and the greek style amphitheater. Eternal gratitud to Mr Diller and Mrs Von Furstenburg for their contribution to the city. Is a must see on your tour of modern Manhattan’s wonders.
Little island is a man made island in Manhattan. The place is very nicely built with great views of the Hudson and the Jersey City skylines. The facilities are great as well with clean washroom and food trucks as well.

Wonderful new attraction to visit but sad to say I dont think this was thought out very well before millions of dollars was spent in order to construct this. Very small for being in NYC, got there early in the morning & after just a short time it got so crowded. Not much walking space between people, so of course you are on top of each other. Not much seating or covered space since youre under the hot sun. Nice that they do have the Amphitheater so you can hide in the shade when no shows are happening. Bathrooms are so clean !! Im sure the view during sunset is amazing but tickets for this time slot have been reserved months out. I would attempt to go back for the sunset views but otherwise once is enough. Must say before this was constructed thought shouldve been to invest these millions into the parks we do have that could use a facelift.
This place is ADORABLE!! Sorry other piers, but this little island is just so much superior. There are several pieces of instrumental installations that keeps the place lively. Next time I’d bring a book and spend my afternoon there^ ^

Beautiful place to take the family for a walk. Lots of outdoor installations for children, and afterwards you can grab pizza from Artichokes or grab a bite in Chelsea Market.
Very nicely done little park with lush green grass slopes to sit. Ampitheater and programs are lovely. Views from here are spectacular specially in night time when both Manhattan and Jersey city is lighted up. Great place for relaxed family hangout. Food choices are limited and not surprisingly little expensive. Wish they had more vegetarian/ vegan options except fries.Best to walk few blocks for public transportation. Parking could be hard to get.
Little Island Park is a nice little gem of the city. We were super excited to check it out, since everyone’s been raving about this place. Make sure to go online and reserve your free tickets if you plan on entering the park after noon, otherwise, you are all good to go. Bathrooms are located to the left as you walk in. There are multiple steps along the way but it is also wheelchair accessible. They have 2 mini amphitheater’s where they hold performances, one with a killer sunset view. There are 3 food trucks located in the center where you can crab a quick bite if you get hungry. They have a cute lounge area with colorful chairs and tables where you can eat. Keep in mind, that they close down the food trucks for a few hours between each meal time so that their staff can get breaks. You can grab a drink from the water fountains around the park, and you can ask the staff for plastic cups with ice. Everyone who worked there was super friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoy our time spent here. Check it out while you can!

This place is very beautiful! You can see the Statue of Liberty from the overlooks and the seating areas are very nice. It wasn’t too crowded either.
At Little Island you can passably pretend to be somewhere you actually want to be when youre stuck in the Belly of the Beast (NYC). Nice views to New Jerseys coastline. Currently no vaxport required to visit, but theyll soon dump-hole that undoubtedly, cause grandma and all. The curvy architecture is reminiscent of Gaudí.
Fantastic Public Park along the Hudson River located just South of Chelsea Piers. There are usually food trucks offering all sorts of treats and beverages. Public Bathrooms. Live Performance Amphitheater. Fun activities for kids and adults. Wonderful views spanning to Statue of Liberty, Freedom Tower and Empire State Building. Just a short walk from the High Line as well.

A very cool place well-worth checking out! Beautiful man-made island park with a scenic view of the coast. There are some many stairs so you can definitely get your steps in, but there are also accessible surfaces in winding loops. A really nifty feature they have on the path is the shortcuts, which are steep rocks that you can climb up or down on. Little shade so be prepared on a hot sunny day and bring some water! One of my favorite parks I visited in NY.

The best free thing you can do in New York! It’s not only a beautiful garden but it’s full of interactive things to do (I don’t want to spoil the surprise, go and see for yourself!) but it has the best public toilets I’ve seen in New York too!Really really really worth a visit!
The newest attraction to Manhattan.No public parking nearby, you have to park in a garage.Currently there is 0$ fee to enter the park but you have to book a slot after 12 pm.Before 12pm there is free walk insExquisite amphitheater with seating capacity of 185 is a perfect sunset spot over Hudson River. You can also watch few live performance during the weekends.Also you can view the one World Trade Center.Not much to do.They do serve beer and wine inside at the food and drink food truck.
This is a brand new public space/attraction in the city, along the west side of Manhattan. There’s already so many things to see and do along the west side and this simply adds to it. It’s such a unique place, being that it’s a park that’s suspended over the water.This park is where Piers 54/55 were. It adds to the many parks in the city, but not like anything else you’ve visited here.With The Vessel at Hudson Yards back open now however I feel The Vessel is still the stronger attraction to visit. The Little Island is unique, but it seems smaller/more cramped than I expected (wish it was larger/wider), but it’s cute none the less.Upon opening this place was a mad house but now I feel it’s balancing out, so it’s not so congested everyday here, like at opening.If you visit here then going at sunset is your ideal time for sure! Ironically the best photos for photographers are of the structure from the street and not within the park, ironically enough!
A great weekend evening spent at the Little Island. Kids enjoyed the show there too. Entry requires advance reservations. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Overall a great experience in NYC and different experience.
The project is very beautiful. Hanging gardens in the form of a labyrinth. Beautiful and preserved infrastructure, with gardens in perfect condition. A beautiful space for contemplation, exercise and outdoor events in the 3 amphitheaters. Two with grass and one with accents. Beautiful lookout for New Jersey.
Little Island is a fun and interesting new-ish place to check out in Manhattan. It was fairly crowded, but that’s to be expected. You could do a full tour fairly quickly, and it’s in close proximity to Chelsea Market which is a bonus.
The Little Island looks like a series of cocktail glasses jutting out of the water. The man made creation has a few overlooks and an amphitheater. It almost feels like an extension of the high line. Fun trip if you like to hang out in Chelsea like I do.

On its own the island isnt that exciting. Its nice to look at from afar and the views there are pretty good but it really wasnt worth all the hype. If you can combine it with one of the many interesting events then its a lot more fun.
Tiny park with an interesting but cramped design that gets crowded fast and feels very corporate and controlled (as opposed to open and relaxing). They wont let you bring your bike inside the park and the racks outside are very flimsy. I wouldnt leave my bike there any longer than the 10 mins it takes to see the park.
The island is an amazing experience. It is free for the public and is such a nice place to go and relax. Its great for pictures at night and the people there are very friendly. The park is clean and well taken care of. Theres a food area with a few food vendors just in case you get hungry. They have clean bathrooms too. There are little activities you can also do throughout the park as you explore like spin a giant wheel with a cool visual effect or play piano with your feet on the ground using the step on instruments. I had a great time there.
The concept is awesome, the visit was ok. Free timed tickets. Visit their website for availability. We walked around the entire Little Island in 30 minutes. Taking pictures of the Hudson, and nice view of the One World Trade Center. There is a place on the Little Island to buy drinks and snacks. Once they start their music concerts, Im sure itll be a better place to visit. Until then, just ok to visit.

A neat concept, and parts of the island are cute with spring flowers blooming. The space is very crowded, so its hard to enjoy some of the best spots for views over the water.The park is well maintained and clean. Not too many seats for those who want to take a break, although there is amphitheater seating in the back.Worth a visit, but probably only a one time thing unless it becomes less crowded.
Good small park.. but not much to do. Its perfect for picnic and families. The food options for quick bite and drinks are great, and the live spiritual music added to the vibe. You need to book in advance though, even though it is free. Do recommend.
Beautiful attraction few minutes walk from Chelsea market. Took them 5 years to build this island and honestly it’s gorgeous. I hope they keep grieving and develop it. There are couple of food options although We skip that . If you’re looking to escape the sun- this is not the place for it .

A unique structure with a Park. Worth a visit. Extremely warm in Summers with hardly any shade once you enter the park. Has a great Amphitheater by the water with some fabulous views of downtown skyscrapers.
Went there for a Free concert. It was awesome!!!Amir ElSaffar: Two Rivers was beautiful!!! The park has a great layout and you can enjoy a nice half day depending on what you are there for. We attended the event evening session 730-830. The sunset was beautiful (see the pics that Im posting). The park has a lot of hills that have ramps and staircases, so its easy to get around. People were sitting on the grass and you could see they made the day out if it. Entry is by reservation only. Visit the site for times and free events. Bathrooms are well attended to. The weather was great - we had a wonderful time!

It was crowded at the Little Island. It was pretty in there, lots of different flowers. I like the nature with the rocks. There was an amphitheater and a band was setting up. A few food stands with a seating area. I wish there was a bit more to do in there though. You can walk through the whole island within 20 minutes.
Cute new park in NYC! Came here Saturday early afternoon—they require timed tickets after 12pm (it’s free!) which weren’t too hard to get online in advance on their website. However, when we got there, they were not checking anyone’s tickets at either entrances! So not sure what is the point of having to request for tickets. The park is fairly small itself. They have a small area with tables/chairs and a few food trucks if you want to grab a snack or drink. Walking up to the highest elevation point is worth the short walk to get some good pictures by the water—but the background is NJ.They also have a nice small outdoor theater area for shows. The architecture of Little Island is unique and a good tourist spot to check out, but I would not suggest going out of your way just to come here.
So pretty. Go before 12pm. After 12, there are timed entries - you reserve your spot online. As you approach from 14th street, its really pretty to look at from afar. Walk up the ramp and you enter this surprisingly wonderful green space. There are food trucks and tables to sit. Lots of lovely benches scattered around. Ramps throughout for those who have difficulty with stairs. There was an annoying guy on a piano playing the same ABBA song over and over - could have been a kids music class? Lots of little paths to walk and explore. They also have an amphitheater where they have various performances. Easy train ride (if you take the A). Also scattered throughout the park are these wonderful interactive art stations.
Initially I was bitter about how expensive this project was, but the experience of the entire park/pier was delightful if you’re into gorgeous landscaping, modern architecture, and dappled sunlight. There are plenty of places to sit, so taking my 80 year old grandmother was nice and easy. My only gripe would be the limited food & drink options from the trucks.

2022-06-03This is such a beautiful Little Island. It has very little Shade. We went on a very hot day (90 degrees) and did not know what to expect. I personally love plants and gardens, so I tried to take as many photos as I could so I could enjoy what I saw later. It was so hot that I couldn’t even see the photos I was taking. I was just hopeful I was getting a good shot. There was a sign for a “park”. I have three children, if there was a park, we all missed it. It’s possible we were all over heated and couldn’t see. However, we did not see a “park”. We saw what looked like a food court. It was a somewhat shaded area. We did not stay long. We just followed the path, admired the beauty, and left.Go on a cool day or take an umbrella for shade.

2022-05-23As an attraction it’s a nice to take a stroll through but there’s not a whole lot to do. You can’t sit in the landscape, only walk through or sit in a few designated areas; which isn’t terrible and understandable. They have nice little landscape features to make music on and some for optics. It’s a fun walk for kids and to escape the towering cityscape. It’s also nice to be on the water. The amphitheater is beautiful and the restrooms were clean.Plenty of organizations and projects. But since it’s here and here to stay, I would suggest it is worth a pass through. It has nice views and isn’t a bad time.

2022-06-22Little Island is an absolute gem. I took my cousin here for his birthday and he loved it. This is a great spot for an outdoor kinda date or to take in some spectacular views. There is also a stage for theatrical/musical performances, which I bet will be a popular summer venue. Bathrooms are immaculate, CLEANEST PUBLIC BATHROOMS I have ever used, in my life. Bathrooms have a really cool setup; each sink has a built-in soap dispenser + hand dryer. So freaking cool. This park is a worthwhile day-trip destination for tourists and locals!

2022-01-18I enjoyed visiting the Little Island shorty after the opening. As an attraction it’s a nice to take a stroll through but there’s not a whole lot to do. You can’t sit in the landscape, only walk through or sit in a few designated areas; which isn’t terrible and understandable. They have nice little landscape features to make music on and some for optics. It’s a fun walk for kids and to escape the towering cityscape. It’s also nice to be on the water. The amphitheater is beautiful and the restrooms were clean. While it’s a nice attraction to be added to the city I think the money could have been better spent helping others in nyc that need it way more. Plenty of organizations and projects. But since it’s here and here to stay, I would suggest it is worth a pass through. It has nice views and isn’t a bad time.

2022-03-10If you are in NYC near Chelsea there are lots of places to go to, one of them is Little Island, you should come for sunset and get the best pictures!!Good place to go for a walk, meet with friends and just relax, the views you get are absolutely beautiful so get ready your camera!It’s close to Chelsea Market so you can grab a take out food and enjoy it here with a nice view!!I think it’s pets friendly, it’s very clean and there are restrooms also!!I highly recommend to anyone that likes sunsets, go for walks or it’s just near the area!!This is my new place to go to wherever I go to the high lines !!

2022-01-02Little Island is a newly constructed artificial island park. The entrance is free and you can walk among the greenery, following a path uphill, where you arrive at a point where you can take beautiful photos. Inside there are chairs and tables to eat, a stage and a small amphitheater that hosts events. You can find scattered throughout the park small installations of modern art. Definitely worth a visit!

2022-06-13Beautiful for Sunset viewsWe have now been here a few times and enjoyed every time. The best time to visit in my opinion is just prior to the sunset on a clear day. It is almost unbelievable how good the sunset views are from the top of the Little Island. The whole area takes very little time to explore and has restroom and drinking water facilities with few food vendors around. The bleachers are a great place to relax and enjoy the experience. One suggestion is to walk the High Line park from the Hudson Yards to the Little Island (little less than 2 miles) or vice versa. You may even forget for a little bit that you are still in the city full of buildings and crazy traffic.

Been there with friends from other state.Little Island is a new public park, located in Hudson River Park, where all New Yorkers and visitors can experience nature and art in a unique urban oasis on the Hudson River. The park features a lush, seasonal, landscape with rolling hills, winding pathways and dazzling views coupled with programming that includes music, dance, theater, poetry, comedy and arts workshops for all ages.

2022-06-26Beautiful place to spend time outside. Enjoy the views from the city, downtown, helicopters and skyscrapers. The architecture is from other world. Gorgeous plants and trees. Flowers are blooming in summer. It’s really crowded, book tickets in advance.

2022-06-25Beautiful design. Very soothing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is a little bit crowded but its kept clean. There are a few public activities going on, although they limit seating but they were very entertaining.
