I’ve never reviewed anything on Google. But I ordered from this restaurant and decided I have to.I lived in NYC most of my life (on Dykman) where I ate a ton of amazing Dominican food. After moving to Albany a couple years ago, I haven’t been able to find any Dominican restaurants that hit the same.Then I ordered from this restaurant. Their food is perfection for anyone who loves authentic Dominican food. Everything was seasoned and cooked beautifully. The portions are generous and the customer care was great.10/10Easily the best Dominican food in Albany; probably the best in all of upstate NY.
This is my favorite place in Albany! They’re always so busy when I go in there but in a good way, like you know the food is going to be good. Their rice and beans are really good, along with the stewed chicken, which is so juicy and tender that it literally falls right off the bone.Something different that I got last time was their stuffed potatoes which were sooo good. Not at all what I was expecting, it was like a fried mashed potato ball filled with some sort of beef mixture. Their plantains are also so good, and I usually am not a fan of plantains. The best!
Stew chicken and white rice...omgeee this was sooo good. In California we dont have good Dominican food or any at all to be honest. Also got some plantains and they were sweet just how I love them. I will definitely be back here when I return to NY!
Moved to the capital district from Brooklyn and queens 4 years ago. I grew up eating dominican and puerto rican comfort food. Everything here is amazing. You can tell the food is cooked with love. And just walking through the door and smelling everything brings back happy memories and reminds me of home. Thank you to the owners for staying true to your heritage and sharing it with the capital district.
This was literally my favorite spot to go to but after today NEVER again will I get food from this place. I get there no one in the restaurant cool. I asked if there was some more of a meat young lady said yes she was getting it etc. Cool! Of course I’ll have to wait thats fine then about 3-4 customers come in and the man helps them cashes them out and at this point the people who came in after me are leaving. The young lady completely forgot about my order I asked for gravy on this dry rice n there is no gravy and I don’t want to go back because my break is almost over after waiting 15 mins for food. She started making a grub hub order and completely forgot about me. I love the family but yeah never again I just spent my last for my lunch and I can’t even eat it because its dry.
I do not think the girl who works at the register has enough IQ to understand customers.The place is dirty and smelly.Customer service is terrible.Food looks nasty.They are not able to cook papa rellana for 30 minute!!! 30 minutes!!!Never come back!!!

If you’re pretty send someone else in the older counter lady is insecure and it shows. Today my food was sabotaged and I’m sad. It was always good but today she scraped the bottom of the rice pot I told her nah I’m good turned for a second and she did me filthy hard rice overcooked pieces of meat smh yyyyyyyy????

Hands down the BEST Dominican food in this area. The food and drink took me back to Santo Domingo with the fresh papaya smoothie, crispy and fluffy tostones and savory cheesy and beefy pastelitos. This is definitely going to be my new spot for comfort food.
Best dominican restaurant I have found. U can literally eat till full off 10.00! Usually after the first second or third time of visiting a restaurant the uniqueness wears off however this place every time I come is always the same excellent its always been clean and theyre very friendlyThe empanadas are actually moist and cheesy and not dried out, the sweet plantains are also very sweet and very moist.
This place is absolutely amazing! As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a warm welcome! The food is beyond amazing and their homemade lemonade and passion fruit juice is to die for!!! I just love going there because they make you feel like youre family and Lisa and her beautiful mother are just wonderful!!! Thank you so much for touching my heart and stomach indefinitely!!! Ordered a few times through Grubhub and every time they didn’t have what I wanted. After placing my order, I would get a call to either cancel or replace my items. Very annoying. Please update your Grubhub menu.And the stew and baked chicken is WAYYYY TOO salty. And the plantains are never fresh when I get them. Always cold and hard. It’s really not that hard and time consuming to make them fresh. People pay for fresh food. Not food that’s been sitting out all day. And for some reason they always forget the beans.
I went to this establishment last night. At first, i was hesitant since the previous owners did not do justice to the Dominican cuisine. I was in awe with the service and the way the food tasted. They had authentic Dominican food and music. I really enjoyed the Cuban sandwich!! The owner and her daughter are extremely nice! Recommend this place 100%!!!!!
Former location of Casa Dominicana. New name.The best Puerto Rican and Dominican food in the capital region. Simply the Best. They have almost all of your favorites. Parking is difficult, but dont let that stop you. Saturday Mornings offer their best variety, but it goes fast!!They are very friendly and professional.

So I normally come here and order one if the meals they have already cooked but today I decided to go with a mofongo and when I tell you it was literally the best so flavorful so moist the sauce on the side was unexpected heaven in a cup I ordered the shrimp one but they have different ones definitely a must !!!
First let me say love restaurant....The snapper is good although it is not made to order (which it should be). It will not come whole because they dont have bigger pans to put it in so they break it in half (not cool). Great mofongo made to order and service..the staff is always pleasant..you will leave there happy with a full belly😉
The food is amazing. They literaly make the items when you order it which means fresh and tasty food. I love this place and the service, they are bilingual which makes it easier for me (spanish speaker) and my american boyfriend to order. Honestly, my favorite restaurant.
I like the food and the taste, but I dont like the way how they are handling the portions. There is a lunch special for $ 7 and before Hector used to serve it in a ceramic plate, but the new administration wants to serve the special in a container to take out, even if you are eating inside, and if you want to eat inside they want you to pay $ 11.50, just because you are been served in a ceramic plate. It is $4.5 the difference , and people like me that goes during lunch time go there to eat in the place, have a different moment to eat in our job, but they want to charge almost more of 50% of the lunch special just to use a plate. This is just ridiculous and for is reasons I prefer to go to Pio Pio that you order what you want or Moliendo cafe that has a special lunch for 8 in a ceramic plate.
Food is much better that a year ago. Another place to go for good Latino food. If you tried before like me and hated, tried now. They change the owners. Is a more cleaner place and the food is extra tasty.

Felt a little overpriced for what it was. Mostly rice and chicken. Upon walking in its not clear how to order, whats on the hot bar or what the price is. Thankfully the food was great and its quick. If I lived in the area Id be a regular.
Food is amazing, service is friendly. The chicken is baked perfectly, rice is not dry. Plantains are warm and the staff works hard.
I love this place the owners are such sweet people and treat me like family .the food is beyond excellent. And if you get the chane to eat here try the empanadas and the homemade juices .you wont be disappointed.

2022-04-25Lo nuestro Dominican restaurant is new there. This was my first time and I guess a lot of people love this food. For me it was just ok, nothing special. They forgot my beans with my rice. I got two pastelitos , chicken and beef with cheese. There was the flavor of chicken and a ton of cheese. If youre into that then enjoy it. They were out of the sauce so I didnt get the full on experience. With that being said, I am not sure Ill be going there any time soon

2022-07-02Got a Cuban sandwich among other things, noticed the Cuban sandwich was literally black, and hard as a rock. Completely burned in my opinion. Took it back and asked if it was supposed to be like that, because to me it was far too burnt. I was very polite, and expected them to make another (keep in mind I don’t send food back easily). The cashier returned from the kitchen with the sandwich saying the cook felt it was fine. I left once I realized they weren’t making another. Having opinions on something being “burnt” is one thing. Completely disregarding a dissatisfied but polite customer is something else entirely. Customer service is a joke

2022-06-25The food may have been fine but the service was not. The fact that you had to pay to sit was not an issue. The issue was that after we were almost done being served we asked if we could sit down and the server had an attitude. Saying, No that’s a different service but maybe she would give it to us because we had kids with us.

2019-08-25One of the best places I have ever ate they are always on point and the food is amazing. Everything Ive eaten here is great. The only thing better is the customer service the owner Niulka is a goddess she is beautiful inside In out. Niulka goes out of her way to make u feel at home. Niulka and her daughter Lisa are so attentive always ready to take your order or refill your drinks this place Is my #1 spot to eat. And will stay that way as long as they are there.

2019-09-22My team and I had a great time at Lo Nuestro we drove an hour to get there and we loved it, we were welcome with a warm smile at the counter and the delicious smell of Dominican food, we showed up 15 minutes before closing time but the owner didnt hesitate to take our order and make a special dish we requested, mofongo. The location is clean and while we waited for the food to be prepared we enjoyed our Shinola drinks. Needless to say we will be going back in a few days to taste some of the other dishes they offer. We just want to thank the owner for making us feel at home, or as if we were visiting an old friend.
