Lockwood in other cities:
LOCKWOOD is an amazing local Astoria shop where you can find unique gifts for everyone - their inventory rotates seasonally and theres always something new to find. I love that their style, paper, and home shops are just around the corner from each other, making shopping a one-stop-shop (block). The staff is friendly and helpful, and I highly recommend to anyone looking to buy local, shop small and support an awesome woman-owned business!
This is such an adorable neighborhood store. They have a lot of beautiful stationary and some gift items. It definitely leans a little twee, but its very charming and has neighborhood centric items, like Astoria themed mugs, stickers, notebooks, etc. You will definitely feel like youre supporting a local business.
I came here to buy a few NY/Queens souvenirs for my friend last month and I was not disappointed. The gentleman that was working was friendly, helpful and a great conversationalist. I really liked that they had a clearance section in the back by the register I found a few birthday goodies for myself as well. Overall dangerous place to go into you will find so many unique things youll want to leave with them all!!!
Interesting and varied selection, usually really great mens and womens t shirts, Queens and Astoria themed items (rare to find!) and unique jewelry and glassware. Great for gifts or for some nice touches for your home. Especially love the candle selection. Kids stuff is nice, though a bit pricey.
My favorite store. A wonderful place to purchase gifts for anyone in your life, but beware. You will leave buying a bunch of things you didnt plan on in your way in. Excellent selection of childrens toys, books. The best Queens related clothing, art and knick knacks. Beautiful home decor. Awesome greeting cards.
Great local shop that caters to people who want to buy one of a kind products. I got my bridesmaids gifts from here all the way to cards for friends and family. The ladies in the womens shop are incredibly helpful and sweet. Come shop here and you wont be disappointed.
Such a lovely store, perfect gift shop. You want to buy everything to yourself and your friends. If you leave with out buying anything I would be impressed because its nearly impossibleDont forget to check out their other shops close by, they for example sell clothes in plussize. And have a big range of stationery
It’s beautifully done and Lockwood keeps a very cute selection of gifts 🎁 however I found it pricey like I would rather buy the same thing over amazon and will be delivered to my doorstep. There are personalized tote bags and cups with Astoria and queens on them which are great but again, overpriced.
I love this place.I recently moved to Astoria and immediately started following every and all things Astoria on instagram to find out what to do and where to go. This was a homerun find. The first time I went, I didnt realize there were 2 shops -- I was very confused when I walked into the clothing boutique and didnt see any of the home/gifts that Id been seeing on Instagram. Left somewhat disappointed, as that was what I came for. Soon after that, I realized there was a second shop just a few steps down the side street -- totally missed that...well blame that on the fact that it was dark, and nighttime.........Went back to see what the second shop was like - loved it. I bought some holiday gifts and made a mental checklist of all the items I am sure I am going to go back and purchase for myself when Im done buying for everyone else. Eclectic items, fun items, Queens-pride items - and all quality. You could honestly knock any gift giving from top to bottom here - cards, fun items for men, women, children and babies...even for pets, they sell quality wrapping paper too. So cute. Most items are a tad overpriced, but I like to shop small, so unless its absolutely ridiculous, I try to splurge in support of the community.Service is friendly, and if you sign up for their free rewards program via email/mobile number, you get a 10% discount for use with your next purchase. This was a promo they were running when I went for the first time - not sure if its an all-the-time thing. Can be used at the clothing boutique as well.I should say, the clothing boutique is really cute and has a large array of fashionable clothing and accessories - I got my mom a beautiful oversized Christmas scarf here.Service at both locations is friendly and helpful..Youve got to stop in! Even just to take a look around.
If the original owners are still the same (moved from nyc a few years ago, sadly) expect only the best of quirky, original, interesting, and amazing.. loved going there with my son when he was very young.. They were kind and attentive towards him, he felt he was the customer purchasing,lol.. Thats what I love and missed the most, theyre sweet and on board with answering questions and making you feel as if your their favorite customer ever... ♡♡♡
The housewares and candles are cute, but just overpriced enough that I rarely buy anything anymore. Their wares have also become a little more...its wine oclock on a stemless glass, you know? Looking at their Queens section always makes me dry heave over how quickly Astoria, and Queens, are gentrifying. Would be three stars, but I gave it a fourth star because I do appreciate that it gives me an opportunity to hate myself (millenial, have lived here for six years).
Oh I love Lockwood. I will gladly spend an afternoon browsing the store. The variety is spectacular & is ever changing. Theres something for everyone: kids, guys, cat lovers, Astoria enthusiasts. Also some of the best cards for any occasion are here. The kids section in the back has become spectacular! I just wish products with curse words werent out for clear display ... especially since you gotta pass it all to get to the kids sections.
Could not love this place more if I tried. It has anything you could think to gift to any type of person, from kids to adults, family to significant others. I pretty much exclusively come here for greeting cards and any time I want to get a special something for someone. The danger is leaving without something for myself.
The shop where i would buy (almost) everything if i only had the money.prizes (as everything in nyc) are a bit too high but its worth.if youre searching for a gift thats the right place. original items, art, totally unuseful but funny kitchen tools, very useful and beatiful children stuff. warmly recommend.
Garden is closed! supposedly open on Saturdays and Sundays. I went on a hot Summer afternoon to buy some plants and get an iced coffee. but it was closed, going against their advertised times. Besides that it is basically an over priced urban outfitters. With little selection. I found a lot of their stuff on Amazon.

2020-12-17My favourite local business in Astoria! All 3 shops are lovely but this is the one I pop my head into most. The staff are extremely friendly and they have the best and most unique assortment of home goods and gifts. Whenever I need a gift for anyone this is my go to place. The stock is constantly changing but they always have super cute stuff and Ive never given a gift from here that someone didnt love. I also love how they have loads of Astoria/Queens/NYC themed local bits and bobs. Highly recommend!

2021-05-02Great gifts and great local haunt for all Astorians. Perfect for decorating, gifts, cards, some kid stuff and clothes. Highly recommend. A little bit of everything and turns over new stuff enough for repeat visits over a season.

2020-12-24Lockwood is an adorable shop. They have witty cards, quality candles and soaps, kitchen gadgets, and even toys for kids. Basically, a great store to pick up a gift for just about anyone. Fun to browse, nice staff, and a nice customer loyalty program. Love this place.

2021-10-27Not a huge fan. 11a opening hour seems a bit odd, even for NYC. I can usually wake up, commute into lower Manhattan, shop, return to Lockwood & they are still not open. My first experience with the store was to pick up a CSA flower delivery. An employee pops out as I’m walking up ~10:30am to arrange the store’s sidewalk sandwich board, raise the gate, etc. “Hi—I’m here for the CSA flower pickup.” Their response: “We don’t open until 11a.”Kinda weird that they’re rolling out the red carpet 30 mins early, but no big deal, I’ll just sit on the stoop and read the news for a few minutes.11:00 rolls around, folks standing around inside, but no opening. 11:05a rolls around, they finally unlock the door. I ask the same question about CSA delivery. Their answer: “Oh, CSA pickup isn’t until noon.”Line break and ellipses because…W.T.H???The next time I visit the store is to grab a quick gift. I’ve identified a specific item online, in stock that I intend to grab on my way out of town. Expecting the 11:05 rule, I show up at or just after 11a. Still not open! So I sit for a couple more minutes until I can enter the store. I’ll give you one guess. Yep, that’s right…out of stock.Needless to say, I try to avoid this place. Pros: Great for the neighborhood. Cons: bad for business.

2020-07-03Everything Lockwood sells at each of their stores is so cute and fun! I really appreciated how they have made every effort possible to allow for in store shopping while adhering to health guidelines. Not only have they rearranged the stores so it’s easier to maintain distances while shopping, but they also have hand sanitizer at the door, and are actually limiting the amount of people allowed in each store. I got great deals for gifts to send to loved ones, and I felt safe doing so, which is a win-win!
