The room and hotel itself was fine, but I accidentally left behind my diamond earrings and a necklace in my room and when I called to see if they were found by the staff I was simply told there was nothing in lost and found. When I asked if they would mind checking directly with housekeeping as they were sentimental I was told to call back the next day. When I called back the next day, at the time they suggested, housekeeping was not available. When I asked to speak to the manager they told me he was unavailable and the process was to check with lost and found and if not there they did not have them. When I asked to leave a message with the manager to see if they could just do a little extra digging given the value of the belongings I never heard back. I completely accept that I left my belongings there but they could have provided a little more effort and service, asked for my number, looked into it just a little further and then followed up. NOT GREAT.
From our party of three two of us had to be moved room due to issues. I had air-conditioning issues (water all over the floor) with the first room and automatic curtain issues ( could not open them) in the second room. My colleague couldnt open his window due to scaffold and building works out side his room. The service was good but the rooms were not of a high standard.
I stayed in room 908 from 1/31 - 2/10 of this year. My Bose Bluetooth headphones were stolen out of my room. I was not given assistance while still staying at the hotel or after checking out. I have been given the run around and condescended to when I am the victim. Do not stay in this hotel, your belongings will not be safe.
The hotel inside is fine, although it does not feel like 5 stars. The online support however is horrendous. I checkout out 1 day earlier and paid at the reception for everything, they reassured me that I would not be charged for the extra day. Then I get charged on my corp AMEX an extra day. I have been trying to get it settled for 4 weeks, and they are not responsive at all, causing me serious issues with my manager.Their responses were kind of a joke, shifting blame and gaslighting me.
Loews Regency Bar & Grill is without an Executive Chef. I have been a customer for 25 years. Since the pandemic I have experienced a lack of quality control. Management is silent and NOT committed to managing their waitstaff AND the way their menu items are prepared. Definitely a dining experience out of control!! Suggested veal chop is tough, overcooked, heavily breaded-BAD!! Halibut is overcooked, greasy fried, unpleasant! Who is minding the kitchen staff??
I’ve been to the Sant Ambroeus at this hotel many times, the cafe is great year round but recently I asked for the bathroom for the first time and they staff directed me to the inside of the hotel and that the receptionist will tell me how to find the bathroom. I went up to the reception and asked for directions, like SA had told me. The guy at the reception acted like I was about to kill his entire family. His facial expression looked like he was gonna pounce and for a good 10 seconds he was looking me dead in the eye without saying a word. Only then did he POINT to the direction of the bathroom. The bathroom itself was really small but crowded with people looking like they are transients. Luggage and bags on the floor, directly under and beside the urinal. It was only a 2 stall bathroom but there was around 10 people sitting and standing there, going through their stuff. Really weird experience.
Just returned from a wonderful stay at the Loews Regency NYC. We love the location on the upper East side at Park Ave & 61st. Chris at the front desk was very accommodating. All staff members were courteous & went out of their way to assure that we enjoyed our stay. Our Studio room was clean, roomy and luxurious. My wife said our bathroom had the best make-up mirror of any hotel shes stayed at! The bed was extremely comfortable. We booked our stay through Amex Platinum which included an excellent Free Breakfast each day. We enjoyed our stay so much, we look forward to staying at the Loews Regency again next time were in NY!
Overall, a great hotel in a great location. Angelina at the front desk was fantastic. She welcomed us with a warm hello and big smile, checked us in efficiently and answered all questions that we had to perfection. Every time we passed through the Lobby she was there offering support and guidance on our every wish...we actually started to look forward to walking through the lobby :)Many guests refused to wear a mask while in public areas as required by the hotel and I wish the hotel would have made a greater effort to correct this. Same issue in the restaurant where it was definitely overcrowded during breakfast and guests were seated awfully close to each other and some guests were standing around tables talking to each other loudly with no consideration for how close they were to other patrons. With that said I realize that this is a difficult topic. Our room was clean, bright and functional. All staff members were pleasant, knowledgeable and very accommodating; however there was one exception during breakfast...we made a reservation but no tables were available when we showed up. This person was rude and dismissive and we subsequently left. I suspect that since it was Sunday, many folks enjoyed a more leisurely breakfast and tables were slow to turn over. Sometimes, it is not what you do but how you do it that matters. A kind explanation of this would have gone a long way.I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
I have stayed at the Loews Regency several times, and have always found the staff and service to be exceptional. The rooms are beautiful and well-kept, and the rates quite reasonable for Midtown NY. I would definitely recommend this establishment to knowledgeable travelers.Update: I stayed here again, and overall the experience was, as usual, excellent. One recurring disappointment though was the bath towels -- they are always thin and rough, not what one expects from a hotel of this caliber. And mask-wearing was not enforced; this was especially concerning in the elevators. Other than that, I had a most excellent stay.
Not sure they can call themselves 5* - room service only available when the restaurant is open.Breakfast is ok but pancakes are microwaved and dry which I think is inexcusable as its not a cheap diner. Not enough amenities provided in the room. We had a suite sleeping 4 people including a kitchen which had nothing in, we had to ask multiple times for cups, plates and cutlery & coffee. Then housekeeping would take them away and not replace. To top it off the wifi only allows for 3 devices in a room for 4 and they wanted to charge us for premium wifi !Hotel is fairly well kept and rooms are not bad. Good location on Upper East Side
Stayed as part of Amex buy two nights get one free deal, which shaved off an avg $200 per night. For the price point of $500 per night, I’d much rather stay at a more modern hotel like the Edition. Honestly everything felt so average, from the gym to the front desk service to the rooms. And you could get average at a much better price point. The room was outdated and had a very small, narrow bathroom. The room felt like a regular small room at a 3 star chain hotel. I stayed at the Park Hyatt last trip and it was maybe 20% larger for a similar price point with a newer, cleaner bathroom. The room I got heard no street noise but I could hear doors opening and slamming every morning around 10am due to house keeping…which did not make for peaceful jet lag recovery. The crowd skewed much older which I think is what the appeal of this hotel is: old money spending on a luxury hotel name to impress. And I suppose they will wake up earlier so the door noise isn’t an issue.A dark and uninviting lobby for late night arrivals at 1am. 4pm checkout is really nice. I didn’t get the upgrades that Amex advertised, as the hotel noted they were full for the weekend.Amex bookings include a $70 a day full service breakfast credit. Omelette plates start at $35, sides like a plate of fruit are $18. Waters aren’t included in the room ($14 a bottle) but you can use your breakfast credit to buy them at the restaurant. You can use this full credit to tip your waiter. This is on top of the $100 dining credit which gets you a plate and a drink before tax and tip. For breakfast, you should make reservations on Resy or be prepared to wait for 30 mins or more. The food service is uneven and slow—I would not feel good if I had to pay for the food or service. But perhaps this is the price point for places on Upper East Side with a Boomer mentality.
Fantastic stay for two days in New York City. Service was impeccable (as expected). Very large and well designed accommodations. Bed was extremely comfortable. Overall wonderful stay and would go back.Only a couple of minor inconveniences--1) the room doors slammed quiet loud so when someone left their room in the morning, it was quite jarring from inside my room 2) the final day my the TV connection wasnt working (I didnt bother calling to fix it as I was just putting it on as background noise while I got ready for the day).
Excellent from arrival to checkout. Clean, spacious rooms. Great bar. Had breakfast at the bistro and was pretty decent as well. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite and it was very quiet, had comfortable beds & pillows and got a great nights sleep. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
In the past my experience was excellent. During this trip our “upgrade” seemed to be a downgrade and we requested to be downgraded to our original reservation because the “upgrade” was to an inward facing suite with tiny spaces, tiny bathroom, and adjacent to all the HVAC ducts, with no internet. The second room was lovely, but the internet was still spotty and the construction noise was immediately adjacent as the hotel is renovating. In general I love this place for its convenience, good dining facilities, and comfort of the rooms. Unfortunately the experience was not so perfect on this trip.
Service and staff are great throughout, but rooms are not 5 star quality. Not terrible, but they remind me of rooms at 3 & 4 star hotels. Also: For those of you that like the temp to be 70 or below at night, AC doesn’t work well and won’t get there (I had similar issues in two separate rooms)
Less than what youd expect from a five star priced hotel. We booked a two bedroom suite which had 2 1/2 baths and a pantry with nice sink/fridge/microwave and serving area.Overall, the suite was large and provided plenty of space. Where the room missed the mark was in a few areas: 1) the room smelled as though at some point it had been smoked in. 2) the appointments were tired. 3) there was an adjoining door to our neighbor to the left and we could hear most of their conversations which rendered our family room area underutilized. 4) the room had a light out and garbage behind the TV in the main area.A high point were the people and service--we felt cared for and were treated as you would expect in a nice hotel. That said, for a room that lists for $2k/night, and a hotel that desires to be five star they fell short. We booked the hotel through our AMEX platinum card, which is where we do most of our fine hotel bookings because of the nice perks. It was the first stay weve had where we were not given a note from the hotel outlining the partnership with AMEX and our benefits. When we travel to NYC, we typically stay at the LOTTE PALACE but given some elevator construction which the hotel notified us of, we wanted to try something new which brought us to the Loews. The Lotte, is similarly priced, but is a level up from the Loews from my point of view.
When we checked in to the hotel all seemed well. We were in Manhattan for our 1st wedding anniversary. We went out for dinner and drinks with friends and when we came back to the hotel we wanted to shower. My wife turned the water in the tub on and nothing came out. I called down to the front desk and was told The water is off until 5AM. You were told this when you checked in. I most definitely was not. We went downstairs to speak with the desk clerk. I asked what could be done regarding this and was told nothing. As my wife and I both needed to shower and use the bathrooms (not a huge ask for $500 a night) we decided to check out. The front desk clerk was rude. He pointed to a paper at the desk next to the one I had checked in and told me I should have read it even though I wasnt told outrightly the hotel would have no water for over half the time we would be staying. I finally spoke with the manager who refunded my money and left us to find another hotel at 11PM at night in Manhattan.I will NEVER stay here again. Loews clearly is more concerned with filling rooms than providing customer service. Quite possibly the most frustrating part was when I spoke with a booking attendant the day before who booked my room and made no mention of this to me whatsoever.
Great customer service and great location. The staff was extremely welcoming during check-in and check-out, from making sure that we were provided a refrigerator and hot water kettle for our babys milk to offering late check-out without even asking. Also, the bar makes a mean martini :)
Room: burned out desk lamp, inoperative remote controls. Cleanliness: small trash behind the TV was evidence the rooms were not as clean as advertised. Service: I had requested front desk to have my car pulled up by 2pm. Instead of making note of my request and time, front desk wanted me to call 30 minutes prior (1:30pm). For a 5-star hotel, some interactions made me feel I was at an overpriced 4-star hotel.
Great location, Great service, Very Friendly Staff! Lovely Hotel!Telena Loiko, part of our housekeeping staff, was wonderful and so friendly. Kathleen is a great concierge reserving great places to dine and Mohammad and the rest of the staff was always helpful. Will definitely stay here again !!!
Horrific experience. Checked in after a 6 hour flight to a damp, smoky (but non smoking) room, with the wall paper peeling off the walls. When we asked to check out, we were offered an upgrade and asked to please give them another chance. We did, reluctantly. The second room was more of the same. The manager was nice and apologetic. He gave us his card and asked us to consider giving them another chance next time we were in New York. We checked out and moved to the Trump International. When trying to cancel our previous reservation at the Loews, the manager proceeded to charge us for our 1 hour “stay” at their hotel. A poor experience is one thing, but refusing to refund a clearly dissatisfied guest who did not end up staying at the hotel is over the line. Avoid the Loews Regency.
I must tell you all this is THE PLACE to stay! The entire staff is superb. They are very detail oriented and go above and beyond. They are kind compassionate and helpful. Don’t stay and not chat with them it’s an amazing thing to get to know them better. 3 of them especially are the best of the best, Dwayne (My angel of New York) who works the front desk, Ela (The magic lady) concierge can make anything possible, and Kate the lovely (smiling lady of the halls) housekeeper, are just 3 of the individuals/staff that go ABOVE AND BEYOND! There are many more. The doormen, they have great tips on locations and directions. The hostess in the restaurant is very insightful and bubbly. I honestly could go on and on, but I will tell you this…This is the place to stay!Don’t miss the chance!! I will never stay another place in New York ever again!!I’m loyal like that, and I sincerely can not recommend this place enough!I would also like to thank them all for such an amazing stay, friendly warm welcome, time and effort they put into all the details for my mother and myself for her 75th.Staying here surpassed the sights, even though it was fantastic to see them, getting back to my home away from home was always a great feeling.Thank you so very much Loews Regency and ALL staff you are in my opinion a 10 star ⭐️ hotel and staff. With all my best wishes and and thanks, Christina & JoAnne
Nice hotel, but there are some points that must be taken into consideration. There is a kind of slackness in the reception, and there are those who complain that it was not received well, in addition to the lack of welcome. As for the rest, it is a beautiful hotel worth visiting, but you have to pay attention to the shortcomings. Thank you ❤️❤️
Stayed here three nights for a quick New York trip and the hot water in the shower in my room was not working for two nights. It took me three visits to the front desk to finally get it addressed. Manager made promises of a free night and breakfast that never materialized. Never staying at another Loews again after this experience.
Such extravagant rooms, executive suits., spacious and large bathrooms. Really great service from the front desk to room.service. everyone is friendly and ready to give u help on locations, directions and help . Definitely a place i will be back to and highly recommended.
The front desk, valets, and concierge staff make the experience enjoyable and are helpful. Rooms are good sized and clean. The lobby layout provides a level of comfort. The restaurant and bar layout provide an inviting atmosphere for relaxed dining. Breakfast and lunch are served at a leisurely pace, so if you are in a hurry you may need to go elsewhere. There also maybe a wait for a table during peak hours. The hotel is dog friendly, so you’ll most likely encounter a few if you stay or visit.
Stay somewhere else!!! You will be unable to sleep with the construction noise! I had hope to update this review before my stay was over, but this started out wrong and obviously is not improving! I checked in for 4 nights to celebrate my bday. On my return from diner on checkin day; I brought wine knowing the hotel restaurant would be closed and requested a wine glass from the bar/restaurant that had guest/known regulars at the bar… the hotel checkin employee volunteers and grabs 2 champagne flutes; I kindly asked for wine glasses fir the second time 😉 the wider cups… since obviously he didn’t know!Víctor responds I’m doing you a favor… I work in the front desk 😳🙈🤪My response: you didn’t do me a favor, you performed Customer Service, and I am thankful and appreciate you!!!! He continued to tell me as I walked away to call zero.I can and would’ve dialed 0 if the bar was empty… considering that if regulars/guests can drink; I can have an empty glass. Plus if your job is the front desk then why offer to help until it wasn’t what i asked for ????Don’t work hospitality if you will have a stupid attitude when guests realize you can’t tell a difference between champagne and wine glasses!!!Loews hotel improve training 🙏 😉, why not!
This was my first time staying in a Loews - have always stayed Marriott and IHG family hotels. To start with, I was checking what the rewards program of Loews is and I still dont know (as such, I did not even bother to create any Loews account to earn points). If there is one, please let me know.My checkin process wasnt too bad. I was early so and my request for early checkin did not materialize (I believe the hotel was quite packed the night before). Nonetheless, I was glad Angelina processed our checkin because she showed genuine effort to accommodate us - sometimes this effort looked superfluous but we really did trust Angeline with her effort and we have no complaints.Throughout the stay, Angelinamade every effort to make our stay a joyous one and I really appreciated it. My dog barked for an evening - I was informed and I made my way back hastility. I was happy this was handled professionally and I apologize for any inconvenience.Even though we werent granted early checkin, our checkout was extended a little by Angelina and I am thankful. All in all, my family and I had a great stay.
Great location. Excellent staff. Beautiful room. I asked for a quiet room on a high floor away from the elevator bank and they delivered. The only thing is this hotel doesnt have vending machines. If you want to spend less than $10 for a diet coke (literally) you have to leave the building. Otherwise a great stay.
The home of the power breakfast is now the home of the incredible lunch. With a combination of first-class cuisine, supreme comfort and attentive staff makes this the perfect go-to place for a special lunch. Special attention is given to make patrons feel safe with plexiglass dividers between banquettes and numerous hand sanitizer stations have been installed.I cant wait to return...is the highest compliment I can give.
Great location on the upper east side. Quiet neighborhood feel, but still close to restaurants and attractions. Rooms are standard NYC size, comfortable, and relaxing. But cleanliness is not what is expected of a 5-star hotel. Face towels were placed on a dirty silver tray on top of a dirty toilet tank. A few surfaces (glass shelf in bathroom, side table, etc.) looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks. Bath robes had holes and hair (not mine) on them. But Salon and Spa was wonderful! Concierge and restaurant staff are friendly. Food is good, nothing special. Prices are what youd expect to pay in 4-5 star NYC hotels.
First rate service from the entire staff. Security is very good and if you have any questions the staff could not have been more helpful. The decorations of the rooms is impeccable and the amenities outstanding. Room service is very good. The rooms are well maintained and are in good condition. Housekeeping is well organized and extremely helpful. The entire staff were friendly and my stay was wonderful because of all of the staff.
The hospitality from Christopher Koliopoulos was superb. The room was well appointed and pretty much impeccable. The location was relatively peaceful in the evening for being in midtown Manhattan, yet just a few blocks from the main tourist attractions. My only hesitation was the bartenders at the restaurant within the hotel were quite unpleasant, to say the least, but I wrote a separate review for that experience. Otherwise, we had superb service with all the staff from the bellhops to the front desk to the maid service -- everyone was helpful, pleasant, and kind. They all did their very best and should be commended.
Very disappointed. We ordered room service and there was no mention that you end up paying more for them to bring it up than for the food itself! One salad and one dessert came to $100!!! Absolutely ridiculous. They include delivery and service charge and another tax on top of the price that is quoted on the menu. There should be absolute clarity. Imagine if we had ordered more!!? The bath was also dirty and no complimentary water (First hôtel I’ve ever stayed at where they charge $13 for water and Offer no other free source). Won’t be coming here again.
Great Location n spacious room by NY standard. The bell man are nice n friendly. The cleaners are friendly too.Unfortunately cant said the same thing about the staffs at Reception..None of them wear a happy face. Not friendly with lots of attitude.Dont they know they are working in a hotel..Isnt service with a smile is basic..🤔
We booked a stay over Valentines weekend and wanted close proximity to Central Park and a hotel with spa services. We were thrilled with the location and the beauty of the entire hotel as well as the price. The amenities were vast and the spa was incredible. We will definitely stay here again!
The front desk staff, doorman, and concierge were amazing. The cleaning crew was a little pushy about cleaning, even when the do-not-disturb sign was posted. I had one issue with my stay that I mentioned during check-out, and even though I was leaving, they still managed to satisfy my concern and provide service recovery. Outstanding! I plan on returning if for nothing other than to experience again such amazing lobby staff.
Comfortable well decorated room - reasonably quiet on the ninth floor even with the great view of Park Avenue below. At first I was worried about a room that was fairly close to the elevator but the noise was not noticeable in the room. Some noise bleed-over from the adjoining rooms but well within tolerance level. The bathroom is well appointed with a great shower. Sufficient closet hanging space and hangers even for a multi day stay. The TV in the bathroom mirror was a nice touch. The lobby bar was excellent for lunch and a great place for an evening beverage. Carlos runs a well appointed bar and mixes excellent drinks.
Had an incredible stay here! Staff was so accommodating. We were helped with early checkin, refrigerator in room, gym is big and great equipment, standard room noticeably bigger than other hotels, plenty of closet, and drawer space, and of course location location location ... Definitely returning.Year later (Jan 2019), and an even better stay! Staff is incredible, and so accommodating.
The staff were all friendly and helpful. We got room service and were pleasantly surprised that the food was very taste and not bland at all. I did use the gym facility and was surprised to find a nice steam room in the locker room. My only complaint would be that the room was pretty small and dismal considering the price.
Went Saturday for a one day trip with wife and 2 kids and we love staying at the Loews Regency NY. Our plan was to arrive early, valet car, check bags and go see the troll experience and come back when check in was available. About 30 minutes before we arrived, our 4 year old got car sick and it was a mess. We arrived around noon and our room wasnt ready so we asked to take any room available and change or reservation if needed as we had a suite book, but needed anything to get kids cleaned up before we went to show. The front desk manager was so helpful in our situation. Not only did he let us use a room temporally to freshen up (he ran and went himself to make sure room was available asap), but kept our reservation and because we already had such a stressful morning, he gave us an upgraded suite! It was so unexpected and really made our trip. the room was INCREDIBLE. 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath and a gorgeous living room with a breakfast nook. To continue, in checking in and getting settled, we valeted and forgot the kids jackets and our jackets in car. The Manager, Justin Mrwik (i asked for his card when we checked out the next day) literally ran (again for us) to the garage to get our coats and came back. I mean - this is incredible. I have worked in hotels in the past and this is everything and more of what service is all about. I was so impressed and the GM that must train this level of service. This hotel always impressed me, but this was a WOW.
The Regency New York was fantastic. We stayed over memorial day weekend and were treated so well. Emily at the front desk was extremely helpful with our late checking due to a delayed flight and made us feel welcome. The food was excellent and the drinks were superb, bar snacks were a nice touch as well. I would definitely stay again.
Very comfortable room, excellent and helpful staff. Close enough to Midtown but far enough to miss the huge crowds. In room coffee pot would be nice and the one night we tried to order room service their computer was down. Restaurant is pricey, usually for breakfast was about $80 bucks, but its Manhattan. Everything in Manhattan is pricey, so not a knock on the hotel.
I want to start by saying I love the location and the convenience of this hotel. This is my second time staying here. This time I brought my large dog, which is welcome . I was told they would have dog bowls here for him, so I did not bring them. When I arrived I had to ask for them to be brought up ( reservations told me they would be in the room) but all they had were sized for a very small dog. I requested something larger and after waiting an hour or so I finally had to go and get something myself. I had my dog settled, however the thermostat would not cool the room below 72°. I set the temperature for 65. When I came back to the room after our evening, it was warm. The engineer had to come and adjust it to make it coolerAt 9am the next morning the temp is 70. No cooler.Unfortunately the counter tops have been misused by former guests and seem to be stained (both times I stayed) there was hair in the tub as well. The best part of the stay was the staff, Ivan is wonderful, and Ela made my nieces feel very special on her first visit to the big apple.
Liars and ripp off hotel parking. We were told the parking was $50 and they charged $74 behind our back. When we tried to discuss it the staff said that he did not speak in English and refused to call a manager. Terrible service, we will contact the bank for full charge back . I suggest to stay away. NY is empty, this is definitely not the way to try to survive this crisis.
Nice hotel in great location. Staff was not friendly when I checked in. Too busy on phones to even look at me. Cheese from previous guest left in fridge - gross. Drain in tub did not work. TV did not work. Told me to call the cable company to get it working! Called to get room service in morning - phone rang 20 times and never was answered. Called to speak to Jacqueline, as she was not available when I checked out, and was told, She is gone for day. Did not even ask if they could take a message. Rude and curt. Had a great stay there in the past, but not this time. Disappointing.
Beautiful hotel but the bar service and cleanliness wasnt to the standard I expect from the Loews brand. For $22+ per drink I expect to never go more than a few minutes with an empty glass, much less 15+ minutes. Bartender was also unable to make one of their signature drinks due to having just run out of St Germain. To be fair it was Christmas evening, fairly busy, and I know other locations are top notch (hence the four stars).
Excellent location on Park Ave at 61st. Beautifully decorated lobby, lobby bar and rooms. Very helpful front desk, concierge staff and room cleaning staff. Bathroom was very small and impossible for two people at the same time. Would stay here again but request a room with a larger bathroom if they exist?
I loved my stay at the hotel, I loved the cute lobby, not to big nor to small, not to classy nor to modern. I feel it had a nice balance. It’s always full of people, also the restaurant beside the reception is nice has a nice vibe to it and the food was good! Lucky enough with a good tip to the check in we got a nice upgrade which made my stay much more amazing.Location is perfect it’s next to everything in mid town. It’s always nice to sit in the lobby and watch the flow of people. One nice thing is they serve free Coffe in the morning. They do have a spa but it’s to expensive m, yet everything in nyc is expensive. Overall I give it 8/10 I would recommend it and go there again. One sad thing that happened, which could be considered random, there was a man that was shot down in the block next to us, which scared us specially on our first day!
Took 30 minutes to check in because the systems were down and we missed the comedy show we bought tickets to. Room cards didn’t work on 4 occasions in a 3 night stay so we had to constantly go back down the elevator to get new room cards.Overall it was okay, but for the money I would rather not deal with these headaches.
The location was great and the staff was friendly. But one knock I have is that I was disappointed that there was not a USB outlet in the room... In an age where most people plugging anything into an outlet is to charge a device via USB. Ive stayed at better hotels with a 3-4 star rating so hard to give this a 4 or 5.Two other minor complaints:1. Im sure was a one off anomaly, but the toilet had the scrubber still in it when I checked in.2. The room service pricing was crazy, even for New York.
The entire property was spotless regardless of the time of day. Thank you to all the lovely staff. The staff on arrival were very efficient and about as helpful as Ive encountered in any quality hotel. The renovation is spectacular. Great location for anywhere you want to get to. Would definitely recommend this option.
Impressive hotel. I stayed for work and didnt get to experience many of the hotel amenities. The rooms are spacious, and in room amenities are great (robes, tv in the bathroom mirror). I had a delivery while out, of chocolates, that was meant for someone else. When I notified the hotel they were originally coming to retrieve it but then called back and said I could keep them as it was there mistake.
First, a disclaimer: I did not stay at the Lowes Regency, so I cannot comment on room quality, cleanliness or the level of service accorded overnight guests. But it is a five-star hotel in a great NYC location, so anything less than spectacular would be a disappointment. What I did experience during my brief stay was exceptional service. It was old school courtesy of the highest caliber. It was the little details that were never ignored or taken for granted. I cant fault a place where the customer is always right, period.
I stayed at the Loews with a group of 9. We arrived on a Sunday evening and waited a bit for all the rooms. The rooms are very spacious. The bed was very comfortable which I find very important. Ive never had a walk in closet in a hotel room before. The closet was great and had shelves. Slippers and robes were provided. There was even a second normal closet.I found the bathroom to be small for just 1 person. You almost have to close the bathroom door to get in the shower. Not all bathrooms are like this according to my group but most are. I did like the drawers in the bathroom. Im a woman with a lot of beauty products. My shower pressure on the 19th floor was ok. The bathroom had a tv screen built into the mirror. There was also a small lip from the hall to the bathroom seen in photo. I was careful not to trip.I had a nice view. My floor was quiet. I didnt hear traffic nor the elevator. I wish NYC rooms had coffee makers. They do offer coffee in the lobby. The in room Figi water was expensive at $12 but their was a convenience store nearby where I made a few purchases. The staff was friendly. I loved seeing all the dogs come and go in the lobby. The restaurant and bar was always busy. There was evening turn down service on the 2nd and 3rd nights. We received complimentary water and chocolates.
Older crowd...stuffy... beautiful dining room...$24 Bloody Mary..$14 Stella Artois...very expensive...but good. The brunch crowd at The Standard Hotel in meatpacking is totally different than the brunch crowd here. This was dull by comparison. But I really enjoyed my visit!
Def recommend this hotel, staff was friendly, rooms were very very clean. Bed is very comfortable. I had 2 different reservations I ask if I can stay in the same room instead of checking out moving my stuff and then checking in again, they were able to accommodate. They did let us know that you have to come back and just have them enable the room key, of course I forgot but went right back down and it was done ASAP..
Lovely hotel with helpful staff. Unfortunately my room absolutely reeked of cigarettes, so either the cleaning staff is nose blind to smoke or embarrassingly negligent. Luckily they were very responsive in trying to remediate the issue once we brought it to their attention.
Location was two quick blocks from Central Park, which was the main reason for staying at Loews. Staff was very friendly and the room was clean. I would appreciated a coffee maker in the room, but it gave me an excuse to find some coffee shops in the vicinity. Overall, very happy with the hotel and would stay there again.
“Best Value for Luxury hotel on Upper East Side”This is an excellent hotel in an excellent location. I had the opportunity to stay here a few weeks over this past fall. Heres what I found.. Rooms are large with luxurious and comfortable beds. Request a room facing Park Ave. they are nicer than the rooms on the back. The restaurant/bar is some of the best people watching in NYC, however the quality of food is inconsistent. Same goes for the quality of room service food. Sometimes excellent and sometimes blah. All in all though, the service, check in, doormen, etc are all incredible and the hotel itself is beautifully redesigned. An excellent value for the Upper East Side. Ive also stayed at The Mark, Plaza Athenee and The Plaza Hotel and believe Loews to the be the best value while maintaining a luxury hotel feeling. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend it.
This was my third stay at this hotel. Its ideally located near the Park Avenue Armory, and close to many excellent restaurants within walking distance. Its also very close to the Park. They have a bar with a restaurant as well as an Italian coffeehouse/bakery around the corner. The bed is consistently extremely comfortable, and they give you a couple small waters each day as well as a couple of cookies every evening from the bakery. I will definitely stay here again next year.
Really nice Hotel, was here for a work-related business trip. This is a very nice hotel, the lobby is very classy, I like the marble finish, the room service was also great, I got the Cesar salad. The hotel staff were very friendly. Location-wise, it was very convenient given that our New York office is on Lexington avenue.
This being our first visit to NYC and with us getting married we decided to splash out and stay here for 5 nights in a Suite. We had breakfast room service in which was simply outstanding, the food was great and the staff amazing. Very helpful and friendly. If you want to be close to Times Square then I wouldnt...
My family stayed at the Lowe’s Regency hotel for the NYC Marathon. My daughter had never ran a marathon before, so we were unsure how long it would take her. When we checked in we inquired about a late check out so she could freshen up after the race. Abdul was incredibly helpful and arranged for us to contact him with updates on her progress. I texted him several times throughout the day and each time he was so helpful! Telling us not to worry, that he would take care of it! He went above and beyond to accommodate us! It took longer than expected and when we arrived back at the hotel, our room was waiting for us! My daughter felt wonderful and refreshed for our ride home! Abdul, I cannot thank you enough for making our stay in NYC amazing and making a stressful day so much better!! We will definitely be back!
This hotel made my first time experience in NYC for New Years seeing the ball drop horrible. This was one of the experiences and memories of mine to be checked off my bucket list which is why we choose this hotel Loews Regency hoping to get prestige service. Below is a list of customer service that needs be fixed immediately:1- Never Judge a book by its cover: (AA family looking exhausted in comfy clothes from our travel to NYC) From start checking in, the representative assumed we didn’t have a credit card to be placed on file; asking for cash in place of a security deposit. When asked can a credit card be used it was an inconvenience and two forms of ID was asked.2- The following morning we was startled and alarmed leaving out our room because it was a few hotel personnel outside our room waiting for us to exit to offer turn down service. We denied turn down service and the hotel housekeeping lady had a disturbed look on her face asking why we didn’t need it like it was a requirement. She stood by our room door while we waited for the elevator in disbelief and disgust. You would think she would be happy one less room she had to service.3- Come to find out at checkout; Frontend Manager Nicole accused my family of smoking marijuana in the room (I’m 27 weeks pregnant with my first child at 40 and I had my 16 year old son with me). She goes on accusing us saying she have proof with pictures charging me $300. I assured her that the accusations was impossible and asked to see the pictures because I know for a fact it was a lie, she went to the back to return with no proof saying the representative who has the pictures are off. When ask to speak with her manager she denied me anyone else saying that their off. She goes further saying security entered my room without my authorization or no knowledge of any discrepancy of any issues or problems until check out. She goes on lying saying housekeeping entered, after telling her I denied housekeeping service she lied again saying other guest complained about smoke or a smell that never existed. She got so frustrated with me catching her with lies she made a seen in the lobby saying she have other guest to serve. I had every reason and right to question any extra charges she accused me of. She was expecting me to make a seen but she truly made the hotel look distasteful. As a manager of her magnitude in the chain of hospitality service could of been handled way better with more professionalism. She definitely need more managerial training. The better way is to not accuse with no facts and assure the customer she’ll get to the bottom of any concerns. I left feeing like I was a burden of my stay there. I will never stay there or anyone I’m affiliated with no matter how many apologies they offer. They was clearly wrong and bad judgement cost them what would of been lifetime customers from a traveling family.
Lovely and restful oasis in the great East side location. To our room maid who looked after us beautifully spoiling us with beautiful Julien Farrell room products and water and in fact anything we wanted. All of the staff from the beautiful girl at Check in. Daniel Muney A gem thanks for everything you did to make our stay memorable we will definitely be back.
I have stayed at Loews many times and usually have had a great experience yet 2 months ago I visited for work purposes and felt like they were careless about guest special needs.Im breast feeding my baby and asked for them to keep the milk and container at their fridge cooler, for some reason during the last night of my stay they pulled the container from the cooler and I had to throw away all the milk I had saved .... I was very frustrated
While I have stayed in just about every major hotel in the Upper East Side, the Loews Regency keeps me coming back! This place has always been great, and the recent renovations have taken this hotel to a whole other level! The location is ideal only two blocks from the park, the staff is always extremely courteous and eager to assist, the rooms are well designed and stocked with all the amenities.I will be back very soon!
Took our 11-year-old daughter for her first trip to the Big Apple from Mar 11-15, 2018. Great, safe midtown location near south side of Upper East Side. Park Ave location makes getting taxi or Uber fast and easy. Check in was fast and easy. No line--at least for when we arrived at around 6pm on a Sunday. Hotel never felt crowded or busy like other much larger hotels. We were often the only ones in the elevator which was always available with minimal wait! Great service from staff except for a female concierge (sorry I didnt get her name) who on Wed night, Mar 14, said they didnt sell any postage stamps, but I found out next morning (from another concierge) that they DID and easily sold me one. I guess the other concierge was just too lazy to get me one. Other than that one minor nit noid hiccup, the rest of staff were attentive and prompt. Phones were always answered quickly and you are greeted by your name. We were upgraded to a Grand Studio King which was a great room. Well kept and clean...pleasantly surprised to have a microwave and a refrigerator, double vanities in bathroom, separate shower and tub, loveseat (which folded into a twin bed for our daughter!), lots of drawers and electrical outlets to plug your electronics. Note: Free wifi is only for 3 devices per room. If you want more, youll need to pay. Room service very good and always on time. Check out was also a breeze. We would definitely stay at this property again in the future.
Requested early check-in and got our room at 2:40 (2 and a half hours after we arrived). Room was clean. Standard king size bed. Bathroom was a bit small but were in NYC so what do you expect. Would stay here again. Close proximity to Central Park and the shops. Would I stay again? Nah. Theres plenty of other high end hotels to stay in and this one didnt stand out.
A top class hotel with a very friendly and professional team, from concierge to house keeping. The bed is very comfortable and the room showed a glimpse of luxury:-) with a TV LCD in the mirror of the bathroom. WiFi is free for up to three devices and the speed is very good. You walk just two blocks to the subway, to Central Park, to 5th Avenue, even Rockefeller Center is just a 20 min walk. We stayed 6 nights in this beautiful hotel and we will in the future look for Loews hotels wherever we go.
Thank you for a wonderful stay and making our Christmas in New York memorable! Special thank you to Abdul who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was extra special 😊 All the staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and luxurious and the location is great. Thank you!
Awesome! Absolutely awesome! That sums up my recent stay at the Lowers Regency in New York. The easy access to Central Park & Mid-Town, not to mention the countless features & services that the hotel offers, is the reason why I will recommend my friends & family to book future stays here. I honestly don’t recall each of their names, but each doorman went above & beyond to ensure that I was good at all times. I also want to acknowledge the lady at the front desk, Lisa P., who was very knowledgeable, professional, & courteous. Hats off & thumbs up to a great staff & hotel!- Maco J. Britto, Very Satisfied Guest
Myself and my Mum stayed here for a week while visiting NYC and we loved our experience here. We found it great value and a wonderful central location, just beside Madison Square Garden, Macys and The Empire State Building.Their Facility fee was around $70 extra over our 7night stay, this was fully explained when we checked in and we were happy to pay the extra as the internet was handy to have in our rooms (worked perfectly) and we got free international calls home (to Ireland). I really did think there would be a catch to this but nope, all free :)The bedroom was a little small but was completely manageable and lovely and clean and nicely decorated. We also had a great view of the Empire State Building.
Its a nice hotel. Not very close to any food options. Its nyc though so somethings always a few blocks away. Room on 3rd floor. Was told its very quiet but i think theres a playground underneath. Hear kids yelling during the day. Housekeeping is very loud. Not fun when working all night.
Don’t come here if you need an early check in! Management was unhelpful, rude, and the only help she provided me was to offer for me to spend $400 to book the room the night before. Why would I pay for that when it would only give me an extra 4 hours in a room? For what you can pay in Manhattan, you might as well go to any other hotel in the city to find a more helpful and caring staff.
We visited/stayed here from Friday to Sunday to attend a family members wedding. From the moment we arrived until the minute we departed the entire staff at the Loews Regency did an outstanding job making us, first time visitors to the city, feel welcome. Location is great for walking or a short taxi ride to many of the sights that one would like to visit. Our suite was amazing with very nice views over looking Park Avenue. The suite was spacious, extremely comfortable, immaculate and very welcoming.Friendly, helpful and courteous are the first things that we will remember the staff at the Loews Regency for! The food and coffee at the Regency bar and grill was delicious, and the wait staff was simply great. The entire team exemplified the customer service you would expect in an upscale establishment like the Regency. We will definitely be returning to New York for more visits in the future, and the Loews Regency will be where we stay when we do.
This hotel has a special place in my heart, my fiance and I first met her, there was a gathering at the banquet hall last fall, and thats where he stole my heart!A few months after we started dateing we though it would be nice to spend the weekend in the city, so we got a room here and it was just perfect. The staff is so friendly and they know alot about whats going on in the city, and they always brough us extra bath towels, (which is good for me cos i wash my hair alot!) The rooms where sooo clean (hard to find in NYC) and the price couldnt be beat, we booked our room from the actual hotel itself, they give you a discount when you use your AAA card.I enjoyed it and will stay again...
My wife and I spend a wonderful weekend at The Regency in NYC. The staff went beyond the call of duty to help us with our special needs. We always had transport willingly available to us from the resort. On the expensive side for someone with a small to medium sized budget.
No word for how nice this place is. Great location transport wise. On Park Ave which is for obvious reasons one the nicest streets in New York. If you dont mind a bit of a stroll you can walk from Grand Central station. If not there are plenty of transport options milling about. Central Park is a short walk away. Good coffee options close by. The bar here is exceptional. We didnt want to leave the building actually as this place truely is one of the nicest spots in New York.
Make sure you look over your bill before you leave the hotel on check-out. They add $$$. The movie appeared on a bill at $29 instead of $19 and they forgot to take off an item from the breakfast menu that they didnt deliver. Good location but the cheating is not cool.
Great times in NYC with hubby daughter and son this weekend --- minus this horrible hotel. Just gotta tell any fellow travelers: The Loews Regency( at 61st and Park )is not like our nice Loews back in Nashville. Oh, if only I could capture and SHARE with you this suffocating SMELL. The executive suite ( room 1217 reeks of mildew ). We had invited a bunch of young people to meet us here for drinks at the bar before dinner on Friday. We arrived to learn that for some mysterious reason, the bar and dining room had been shut down. No one told us that when we registered, of course! They just let us make plans and discover this once it was too late. Real concern for the customer, right?Eeww. Come to think of it.....I wonder if there was a health issue? Moldy Mildewed FOOD?Back to the stinky suite: Front desk was just so sorry. Gen manager Jim said no other rooms available,... but he sent housekeeping to re-vacume the floor while we were out the first night. ( huh? ) Oh wait: Deanna at the front desk sent coupons tonight for 2 free coffees next door at the cafe...( ummm...its FREE in the lobby, and - there are 3 of us in this suite.) No one ever checked back today to tell us whether there was an odor free room we could have moved to for tonight. They dont care. BTW, How would a coupon for coffee remedy a respiratory health issue?I have never seen such lack of concern or lack of service.I have horrible allergies and woke to a pounding stuffy head this morning- surprise surprise. Anyone who knows me knows my purse is crammed with sudafed, saline nasal rinse, nasacort spray, menthol inhalers...A night breathing in mold and mildew in a hotel room is torture for anyone with allergies - and it also came with at a hefty price tag . Buyer beware. ( ps - if you want to have a nice glass of ice water, you have to call and order ice! It arrives 45 minutes later. )
I had the pleasure of spending a week at The Loews Regency and loved every minute of it. It was my first visit ever to NYC and found your location was perfect for transit, attractions, theatre, restaurants, the Park...it allowed me to get to everywhere I wanted to go with the least amount of hassel. Your staff was very helpful, prompt and attentive. My next visit to NYC will include a stay at The Regency again!
A disappointing recent stay which was impacted by an early morning fire alarm and minor flood. reception staff failed to address a complaint I made about noise from an industrial fan/dehumidifier in the hall near our room which was left running 24/7. There are better options for the price elsewhere in Manhattan.
Problem at the Lowes Regency New York - simply put we had a mix up on the dates of our stay. When we arrived for our stay apparently the reservation was accidentally booked for the weekend before. We sat around while American Express Plantinum travel (wonderful and helpful) TRIED to work with the hotel in taking care of us. For over an hour we waited until we finally spoke to I believe a manager named Alexis. This is the first time with all of the hotels that we have stayed at around the world where a problem showed up and the hotel was not willing to work with us in trying to make us happy. We asked that they apply our No show charge of $500+ dollars to this reservation and move our reservation to this 15th & 16th even at the higher rates (more then doubled). The response was basically we only have room for one night (not true because I was looking online and it showed that I was able to book the hotel for 2 nights) and that the most they were willing to do is give me a 10% discount on the one night! Shame on this hotel for not working with the client. I am sure this hotel is lovely but if you have a problem do not expect them to put the customer first. To me there are never problems there are always solutions - not at Lowes Regency NYC
Platinum Elite with SPG, Marriott and Ritz but Loews is my favorite hotel chain around. So I was excited to see a Loews while in NYC. Expensive drinks at the bar ($22) and not very well made, so get beer or wine - stay away from the cocktails. Didnt care for the bartender, either, was quite rude. The property itself is classic Loews, aka the best of the best. Was in a King Park Ave facing room, Huge, well appointed rooms with what could almost be an Alaskan king bed, extremely comfortable and HUGE. Amazing bathroom with the best bathroom amenities at any hotel Ive stayed at in the US, puts the Ritz to shame when it comes to the bathrooms. Loews La Ventana Canyon is still my favorite hotel in the US but this is tied for second on account of the location, bed and bathroom. The desk in the room was a little worn but so what, having previously stayed at the ritz and jw essex house, Ill be staying here fromNow on. Just wish they had a loyalty program.
Beautiful building very pleasant friendly staff making sure me and my husband were comfortable we areived very early in Newyork even though the custom check in time was not til 4pm the staff went out of there way and gave us early access to the room we reserved the heat was so terrible that not even a random flow of wind dry muggy and the staff seen how hot and exhausted we were and really took the time in a very compassionate manner as well to get us comfortable thank you for the great experience it was truly appreciated and made our rather quick stay with your hotel a very happy one especially waking up in comfort the room the beautiful beds the very large rooms and even the bathroom was just a beautiful setting the beautiful marble setting really suprused me especially how it made that extremely beautiful bath stand out in a artisist form setting it definitely was a talk piece between me and my husband

2022-06-23Dont forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any place. They compare thousands of hotel sites and usually will have prices a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later! 2022-01-17From the moment we arrived to our departure we received the most stellar I service . The room was gorgeous everything was clean every surface polished I could not have been happier. My two other companions were as happy as I was. All precautions were taken against covid. Thehe beds were incredibly comfortable. I would stay there again gladly

2022-04-06Very comfortable. Felt like home away from home, with the extra service. Tried to have Breakfast at the diner this morning but the space was way too busy... very popular, will try again and hope it lives up to their reputation. Dissappointed not to have breakfast in house when I want to, but there are options: the bakery next door with delicious coffees and/or room service is always available. The Spa connected is high end and professional (had a mani $$) as expected. My experience of the hotel has been very enjoyable.4 nights. I did over-hear another guest complain that they stayed longer than a week and the hotel standards had dropped, including the freshness of the food and their fridge... on that note, this has not been my experience. Great central location to shopping and the park as well. I would return.

2022-06-12Good location, friendly staff. Bathroom in our room was more like a 3 star. Be careful of the automated mini bar which charges you if you move the $12 Fiji water, which also has a restocking fee and tax on top of the $12 for the water.

2022-06-20First of all, this is not even close to a “5 star Hotel” as it claims to be. Paid $750 for a room and experience that should have been half that. Rooms are dated, particularly the tiny bathrooms with yellowing marble from 40 years ago. Staff was nice but not overly so. Everything just felt very average. Not what I was expecting. Beware.

2022-05-08This review would have been 5 star if this was a 2 star hotel, the last thing you expect from a 5 star hotel is a cockroach roaming your room. We choose this hotel based on our previous experience with their sister hotel in Chicago where I was impressed with their cleanliness and attention to details. I had initially booked at different brand and I changed it to lowes based on that experience after I realized they are in New York too. That was a mistake I wouldn’t be repeating in the future. It is hard to fall asleep after having such an experience. So lets just say I was shocked to be greeted with this. I understand that things happen but a 5 star hotel with premium rates should held themselves to much higher standards. Now once that happens you start seeing things that usually overlook like rust and poorly maintained drawers and burnt light bulbs. The staff are very courteous and attentive and did reach out and offer their apologies but that doesn’t change the events, it is not like we got the wrong food order. As for the rest of things they are on par with other hotels…nothing wow..
