Definitely recommended! Professional and friendly staff, they did a great job preparing us for neutering our pup, explained the procedure well for before and after care. They were caring throughout the process and treated our little furball well and very reasonably priced.
At first i was very sceptical because of the prices, but i had 2 kittens so to spend 1000 $ for both it would be too much for me. So i decided to give it a shot of course based on a good ratings and reviews. It was a long drive from Queens but it totally worth it. The front desk girls are very professional and polite. The doctor he was very busy so i didnt even talk to him. Buy he did his job beautifully. My cats felt good right away. So thank you very much.
BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! I dropped my pup off to get neutered, had the best experience and couldnt wait to get home & write how amazing they are. My pup willingly went straight to the back with the sweetest vet techs- immediately I knew he was in good hands because he didnt hesitate or even look back! I had a class that I was attending and they were flexible with holding him until I was done (biggest worry put at ease). The whole experience was so smooth and put my mind at ease. Thank you all for a wonderful visit.
Wow! Had 3 kittens I needed to get fixed and they were able to give us an appointment a week after calling. They called the afternoon prior to confirm the appointment. Staff was very communicative.. we dropped them off at 8am, they called at noon to say come get them at 12:30. They even called 2 days later to check in and see how they were doing. They remembered our kittens and were obviously very happy doing their jobs, so I clearly had a great experience.
I canβt thank the team at Long Island Animal surgery enough for taking such good care of my 12 year old dachshund Pippin. He had a tumor that was making walking difficult. I was very concerned, but the smiles and quick response made me feel at ease. The price was more than reasonable and Pippin is resting comfortably... happier than Iβve seen him in a long time. I highly recommend. Thanks again.
This place is Amazing! The staff here is exceptionally friendly, caring, compassionate and helpful. They go above and beyond to take care of your pet. They actually care about your pet more then the money. Our puppy Gio was neutered here yesterday, he is doing great and back to being himself just in 1 day post surgery. I highly recommend this place for any of your pets surgical care. Special thanks to Ana for all your help. The whole team of Long Island Animal Surgery, you guys are THE BEST!
I was thrilled with the care my dog received at Long Island Animal Surgery. In December 2019, my 65 pound black lab mix had a lower canine and lower incisor extracted and teeth cleaning done. The recovery was speedy and complete. I highly recommend this surgeon and his staff.
The doctors here were so caring and thorough with my baby girl Tessa, she underwent a massive surgery (mastectomy, spay and 4 teeth removed) so I was so nervous especially because she is 9 but they assured me everything was going to be okay. I dropped her off and picked her up 6 hours later and she was in great shape. Later on that night the doctor personally called me to answer any questions I had and to check on Tessa (I had many questions lol) and I thought that was really awesome of him. This place was a blessing because every other vet or animal hospital was charging me nearly triple to what I was charged at the Long Island Animal Surgery Center.
DO NOT RECOMMEND. I brought two 14-15 week old kittens here to be fixed and one died in their care and the other also had issues upon discharge. For the one that passed away either during or after spay surgery, the vet couldnt give me a solid reason as to why she passed but she has been vetted elsewhere and had a clean bill of health besides a hernia. They didnt even call me to let me know she passed, I called to follow up after not hearing from them and they told me they were still waiting for her to wake up. When I got there the receptionist told me she escaped the carrier prior to surgery and was joking about moving cabinets to get her when the vet said the little orange one? It passed. They couldnt give me a reason as to why she passed and suggested feline herpes (they were never sick), fading kitten syndrome or something genetically wrong with the litter such as liver shunt issues (#8 & #9 from this colony and the only ones who had issues). I had her for six weeks and she never showed any signs of anything being wrong. When I brought the second kitten out to the car with me I noticed she looked extremely out of it so I brought her back in. She was assessed by the vet in the lobby and I was told she was fine, to give her time. Two hours later she wasnt making eye contact and couldnt stand, let alone lift her head on her own so I rushed her to the closest vet that would see her. Her temperature was very low and she was given IV fluids, placed on a heat disc and given nutrical plus a can of recovery r/s. I had them run a blood panel and everything came back clear (so no liver issues). After posting on a LI cat group on FB Ive had multiple PMs and comments from people all saying that theyve had issues with this vet - from botched surgeries to animals that have lost their lives. Take your animals elsewhere. (For anyone who has any doubts, Yelp allowed me to add photos of the kittens)
We are sooooo thankful we found the Long Island Animal Surgery Hospital. Dr. Kolbert and his staff were so kind, helpful and informative. They gave us a price range on surgery for our cowmix and when it was all said and done the surgery was the low end of the price he quoted us. When we first called the Vet Dr. Kolbert came right to the phone and explained everything to us and got our dog in first thing the next morning. They saved our dogs life, and I would recommend them to anyone whoβs pet needs surgery. Make them your first call you will be happy you did it. Thanks again Dr. Kolbert and your wonderful staff for everything!!!!!!πΆπΆππππ
Our experience here was beyond amazing! Our beloved cat needed surgery and the care, treatment and attention to our needs was outstanding. Nice location easy to get to and the hours are convenient! Dr. Kolbert did a wonderful job with his skillful surgery and my cat is on the mend! Sue Reising his assistant was very helpful in answering all of my questions and concerns. And the low cost price was very reasonable and affordable, especially in an emergency. Dont go anywhere else go here, they are good people, doing good things, you would be doing the right thing to go here, for your pet, yourself and your family!
Horrible experience donβt go to this clinic. My friend had gotten surgery on her cat and the vet didnβt even finish stitching the incision area before ending the surgery which caused bleeding for several days. The surgeon even had the nerve to blame my friend for complaining too much. Horrible place.
All i can say is if you need a vet go here! I had a. Emergency with my chihuahua and he needed surgery this this office could not perform, right away Anna took my info and called another office for me, she even asked me for the xrays i had so she can call and check, after all that she even called me to follow up, i have never even stepped foot on this office. The care and concern Anna showed me without even being a guest of this practice is amazing and i can only imagine the care received when treated here. Anna thank you for treating me with compassion during a scary time for my and my boy Joey
A particular orthopedic surgeon was recommended to me. I left a message for the doctor I thought I was calling, my call was returned promptly. When I made the appointment then asked for directions I questioned the location I was given and was told that the doctor I wanted βtravels to the different locationsβ. I have recently found out this is a lie. It took 5 phone calls for them to finally send my dogs X-rays to the doctor. I wasted so much time because of the place my dog could have been on the mend by now.
Dropped off my pet for spading in the morning and picked her up by 12 noon . Surgery stitchings were internal and nicely done so i did nit have to return to gave the stitches removed . Provided with instructions and pain meds for recovery . Received a call to find out how she was doing and if we had any problems to call back for instructions . Overall a good experience and great price .
I used this office years ago for my dogs leg amputation and had a great experience. When I brought her back years later for TPLO surgery, Dr. Kolbert was careless with her recovery. She has 3 legs and I knew recovery would take extra time. They outsourced another vet to do her procedure and Dr. Kolbert took my dog and kept her at his house without my knowledge for the first night of recovery. I only found out the after the procedure was done that this happened. For her 5 weeks post op, my dog ran into a lot of complications and Dr. Kolbert just passed them along like it was nothing. A severe seroma developed and I had to go to my regular vet to get this treated. They gave me additional pain medication and several antibiotics to treat her. I was there three times in one week. Dr. Kolbert and his wife were informed of this said I needed to wait a few days until they opened up again to come back. I was not going to wait while my dog was in pain.He told me I was not being patient and this takes time. During the process, I did not know who the surgeon was that even performed the surgery until the information was released to me weeks later. From that point, I made an appointment with the actual surgeon in Nassau County and he has been a huge help ever since.Upon meeting with the surgeon in Nassau County, he was very upset with the damage done to my dog. He said recovery will be more difficult now and she needed stronger medication since Dr. Kolbert did not put her on anything strong enough for the pain.I will NEVER refer anyone to this office again as I now had to dish out thousands of extra dollars for her recovery, physical therapy, and medications due to Dr. Kolberts lack of compassion and attention.
Doctor Kolert came in and grabbed my kitten who has a cast on and swung her around in the air yelling This cat is feral. I found her at one week old under my car and she is a darling cat. I think he doesnt like cats. I was so appalled at his treatment of my kitten, I cried the whole day. She was traumatized and didnt move a budge until next day. He said she was going to be ok but never sent xrays and report to Family Vet Clinic in Patchogue so they wouldnt see us to change her cast. They said they never heard of Dr. Kolbert and complained we didnt take her to their recommended surgeons (both 1 hour away) Long story short...neither place ever called me back. Guess they just dont care! We are going to take cast off ourselves!
Dr. Steven Kolbert is among the best. His practices include Long Island Animal Surgery in Patchogue, Glen Cove Animal Clinic and Bayville Animal Clinic.Weve brought several generations of our dogs, who are important members of our family, to him for both routine & urgent care. He & his staff are smart, sensitive & extremely competent. Theyre always willing to accommodate special appointment needs wherever possible. For instance, we recently had an urgent situation with one of our Siberian Huskies. They were at their Patchogue Surgi-Center, which is not our usual office but yet his staff was quick to accommodate us. Dr Kolbert diagnosed our boy with an urinary tract infection in addition to a finding requiring surgery, which successfully took place after the 7 days of antibiotics.I wrote this review today to thank Dr Kolbert and his staff. Our boy is recovering beautifully from his surgery, and we are thrilled. Everyone I know who brings their adored pets to Dr Kolbert are more than satisfied and so are we. Highly recommended!
READ ME! Stop looking around for the most talented surgeon and veterinary medical staff in the New York area. THIS IS IT! I cant begin to tell you how incredible the experience is/was. I traveled out from NYC and it was well worth it. Our 3-year-old English Bulldog just got five surgeries at once yesterday and I will update this review after her follow up in two weeks, but theres a reason why Long Island Animal Surgery, Dr. Infernuso (the board certified surgeon), Dr. Kobert, Ana, and Sue are so highly rated. Sue has been SO accessible and helpful--literally can text or call any time with questions which has put our mind at ease and is making the care/recovery process incredible. Ive seen many other vets in experience owning dogs for the past 18 years and Ive never ONCE encountered a team like this. They only do surgery at this facility--its how they keep the prices so reasonable. Now obviously surgery is never cheap.. our bully went in for an episioplasty (aka vulvoplasty for her chronic UTIs), a double eye entropion correction (and she was presented with distichiasis found during the procedure that Dr. Infernuso took care of too!) and he did a soft palate resection and stenotic nares surgery...ALL AT ONCE! You never want to cheap out on the care for your beloved pet obviously, but the price point was beyond fair AND HONEST! Extraordinary for a surgeon to be so highly skilled in such a wide range of operations, and to be able to do them successfully at once. I cant believe the way our pup turned out. Most vets dont tell you the true total cost of care upfront--they did and their estimate was on point with what I ended up paying. Im so glad I found out about this clinic!
Dr. Kolbert was phenomenal. Half the price of all other quotes. Available at all times (even on his cell phone after hours). Staff was very nice. Highly recommend going to Long Island Animal Surgery. Beyond happy with the care they gave our little kitty for his broken leg.
In June our dog Precious had a cancerous tumor removed from her leg. She is doing quite well thanks to all the care and compassion of Dr. Kolbert, Ann and Sue. they explained everything in detail and even when I called to ask more questions they were eager to help me with any of my concerns. They are truly an asset to long island pet owners with pets in need of surgery. Thank you so much for the fantastic care. Juan and Stephanie Salinas and Precious too
Thank you to everyone at Long Island Animal Surgery for taking great care of our dog Sasha. She had surgery on her knee in January and she has fully recovered. Her rehab took some time but, with the help of the staff, Dr. Infernusos surgery was a complete success! We are so pleased with her progress. She stopped limping completely and has full use of her leg now. Special thanks to Sue for always being there to answer our questions during Sashas recovery! Highly recommended!
Brought our dog Bella here for surgery after receiving a terrible diagnosis and not much hope. After during some research I came across Long Island Animal Surgical Center and Im sp glad we did. What a wonderful, caring experience. If youf pet needs surgery I highly suggest coming here.
Long Island Animal Surgery has performed two surgeries on my 65# mix breed dog. Ive been very happy both times with the results. The first surgery was a tumor removal, the second was for removal of a large epulis (oral surgery). Price was great for both. Highly recommended.
I took my dog here to get her eye removed after she had got into a little accident at home, went to two other places and they charged me over 700, 1000 dollars more than what I was charged here. Everyone here was extremely helpful, especially Sue, you could call her anytime throughout the day and she would always answer you and if not she will call you back. You cant go wrong coming here.. everyone here was helpful and so kind.
I brought in my cat ,The Piglet to this wonderful animal hospital after speaking with the very caring Sue, the office manager. The Piglet had swallowed a bone of a mole and would have died if not for the surgery that was performed by the very capable staff at this animal surgery center. The cost of the surgery was more affordable than other prices I was given by other less empathetic establishments. The care ,competence, and concern made a very difficult experience into a very happy ending.Thank you!! Andy and The Piglet a.k.a Milo Mc lovin
DO NOT use LI Animal Surgery, patchogue. Aside from that vet killing atleast 2 ferals during tnr surgery during a clinic and now i just got word of 2 botched surgeries from 2 kittens they did that were taken by rescue this week. One kitten the stitches cover the entire stomach, it had to see a vet, the other kitten had to be rushed to the vet this week because the intestines were coming out.
Dropped my puppy (5years old) still my puppy off to this office, they did extra work and actually care about the dog as opposed to the money!!!! They have earned a client for life, I felt like they actually cared about my baby as much as I do, thank you for your service to our family pet.-David, Nicole, & Kali
I had an absolutely wonderful experience bringing in five feral cats that I trap trained and successfully caught all at once. That was an expensive proposition because I had to buy five Tomahawk feral cat traps, plus Tomahawks Drop Trap and Transport cage in the even I had any trap shy escapees. Getting training was easy. I got trained by Community Cats online which cost $10 and which educated me so well for this, that my often rehearsed choreography went without a hitch.I brought the cats in, first 3 on one day and 2 on the next, to the Patchogue Roe Blvd location. All the animals were returned the same day the surgeries were performed, hours after I had brought them in. They were spayed or neutered and given a Rabies shot and were ear tipped as required by law. The ear tipping was done so tastefully that it was visible, but does not detract from the animals appearance. (The Veterinary Technician told me that she did minor ear surgery to improve the appearance of Dad, the battle scarred tomcat and protector or the clowder.) The animals were very well treated and healed very quickly. I would certainly bring animals to this veterinary facility again and highly recommend them!

2022-08-13Long Island Animal Surgery saved my dogs life. My vet ( who is consistently good ) had given a bad prognosis on removing a tumor. I looked for a second opinion and long story short, the professionals at Long Island Animal Surgery saved my dogs life (and leg π). All situations are different but if you are looking for a good place to care for your pet this is probably it.

2022-03-25The staff at Long Island Animal Surgery were beyond amazing! As soon as we came in with our fur baby, they were very professional, quick and efficient and communicated EVERYTHING with us. Our pitbull had to be neutered and a lot of places did not want to accept him since he was already 5 years old, but this office did not hesitate and reassured us that RJ will be in great hands and he was. My husband and I knew RJ was very comfortable by the way he just allowed them to take him to prep for surgery. Their prices are AMAZING, especially compared to other vet offices. We definitely appreciate the staff for their kindness and big hearts for animals and their Fur-parents. Thank you all so much!

2021-07-12I recently (July, 2021) had my 9mo puppy neutered at Long Island Animal Surgery, and I was blown away by the incredible experience we had at this vet clinic. The surgery cost was extremely affordable (thank you for providing this essential community service). Neuter was $185 for my 9lb pup and included pain medication to go home and an Elizabethan collar. The facility was clean and the staff were all professional, good communicators and deeply caring of my dog. I dropped him off for surgery at 8:30am and he was back in my arms by 11:30. My dog healed beautifully after the procedure and Ana provided me with comprehensive instructions detailing exactly how to care for him as he recovered. I highly recommend this veterinary practice and I will continue to use them when necessary to keep my dog in good health.

2021-09-02Being involved in Rescue I have worked with many different vets offices, itβs so hard to check off all the boxes which includes excellent vet care, affordable prices, and an amazing happy staff. LIAS is the best, no one compares. The staff really loves their animals and they love what they do, everyone is so friendly and caring. The office has a warm, family like atmosphere. Dr. Kolbert is truly amazing with all of our dogs and a very talented surgeon. He is extremely knowledgeable and patient with all of our medical questions. I never worry about the dogs left in their care.I love the Patchogue office, thereβs always parking and a parking lot which is an added bonus!!

2021-11-07We got our kitten spayed by dr. colbert. he messed up her incision and didnβt even do the stitches right. my cats wound is now infected and she is not feeling well. We had to take her to separate vet to get her checked since this clinic and itβs surgeons are not reliable. donβt take your animals here!!!

2019-09-26Staff was very nice. Easy to deal with. Anna kind and helpful. Dropped my two kittens at 9 picked up at 12. They recovered fine. Was concerned with discount fee for spaying, but it went great. My vet wanted $1200 to do these procedures and this facility charged me $270 for 2 kittens. Would refer them to anyone and will definitely go back if needed.
