I procrastinated getting my brakes done for months. Somehow life got in the way and I forgot. On NYE, I woke up to run errands and realized my brake pads were completely gone. The brakes began cutting into the rotors and I was in big trouble. I knew my options were slim due to the holiday, so I was relieved when I realized JP’s shop was open. Not only was he able to repair my car in a timely manner, but the price was great and affordable. I needed my inspection done also (don’t judge me) and he was able to do it the next day (yes - open on a holiday!). I always have a smooth, painless experience here when I need my car serviced and highly recommend them. If you’re looking for affordable and reliable service, this is the place for you!
JP and his team are really good at assessing the job, quoting and getting my car back on the road. They have been my go to repair shop for a few years now. Theses guys are amazing!! I just happened to be in Baldwin today on a showing when I noticed that my left tire had picked up a nail. I didn’t want to take the risk driving back to queens on the highway so I went here and was told that it would take about a 15mins wait because they were very busy so i did. It was less than 5 mins that this really polite guy came to check the tire and even told me that I can stay in my car because it was so cold today. Before I knew it he took my wheel out and patched the tire because it was to the side where the nail was stuck. Overall I would say that their service was amazing! So I gave them a 5 Star because I think they deserved it. Thanks so much! I appreciated the quick and polite service. Highly recommend this tire shop!!!

Jp and Carlos are the best. They repaired and got my car up and running in a very prompt manner. This is my second time coming to Long Island Auto. I would recommend them 100%. Service is quick, staff is friendly and price is great.
The three most important things to a customer in a mechanic: honest service, honest service, and honest service. Translation: they know what they’re doing, charge reasonable prices, won’t turn a small defect into an unnecessarily big and expensive repair. I use them mostly for routine maintenance (oil changes, state inspection, and the inevitable brake jobs), but also (thankfully infrequent) non-routine repairs. I bought two complete sets of tires (for two cars) from them, based on J.P. offering me several different brands and then recommending one after discussing my particular tire needs (type of driving, annual mileage); definitely didn’t try to push the expensive ones. I also had them do a “major routine service” which cost hundreds less than what a dealer would have charged. Overall, a great place to do business with.
JP was honest an pricing was reasonable. Great experience with the shop! He drove my car and qas able to tell me all that was wrong with it (something other mechanics were not able to do). Love that they are open 7 days/week!
I am pleased to know “JP”, the owner of “Tires of Long Island / Long Island Auto Repair”, an auto-repair and used-car dealership. Our family met JP, as he left his business unattended to kindly assist my wife and daughter who broke down a block from his shop – all while refusing payment! Our customer-mechanic relationship then quickly evolved from annual NYS inspection, to auto repairs, and eventually purchasing a car from his lot. Before I met JP, I was wary of acquiring a used car given the uncertainty that comes with such a purchase. He assured me however that he mechanically services all cars before sale, including body work along with internal and external professional detailing. I purchased a Toyota Camry from him in February 2017 and after eight months, I am still very satisfied with it. The car is mechanically sound, very clean throughout, and looks and drives great! JP is so focused on selling a quality product that he insisted on replacing the hood of the car before releasing it to me even though I did not mind taking the car “as is.” From a repair standpoint, I admire his honesty as I have experienced instances where what initially was thought to be a “big fix”, turned out to be a simple adjustment at no charge.If you are looking for honesty, competence, quality, and an overall positive car-buying or auto repair experience, look no further than JP of Tires of long Island / Long Island Auto Repair.
The first time I went here, I had a transmission light on the dash. JP ran diagnostics on it, reset the computer and the problem went away. Extremely honest guy, I have since been back to his brother for a tire installation and back to JP for a full brake job and wheel alignment. There are very few good honest mechanics out there and I am recommending them to anyone I know that needs auto repairs.
Ive yet to have a negative experience with the service provided at this establishment and my car has been serviced a number of times . The owner is knowledgeable, courteous, and respectful of your time. Services are rendered at the time and cost estimates provided once your vehicles issue has been assessed. Went on a busy Saturday to get my window fixed and JP helped me to get in and get out.He was upfront about the service and what needed to be done and in the waiting area was coffee and tea and whole lot of other snacks should I have needed it. They had granola bars and chips, water, and mints. Everything was so clean and the employees were so down to Earth. Will definitely be back for all my car concerns 🤗.

J.P is great! Really personable and professional. He really works with you, definitely not the type of shop that will rip you off leaving you with even more issues with your vehicle! I’m a woman so it’s easy for people to want to take advantage as they may feel I don’t really know what’s going on. I had an alternator issue with my VW Jetta and Long Island auto repair really took care of my car . They diagnosed the issue and got down to the actual problem fast! After 7 years of being a baldwin resident, I’m so happy I finally found a local mechanic I can trust! No b.s
I was really upset after getting into a minor accident and destroying the rim of my brand new car. I ordered the piece online and came to Long Island Auto Repair to have the rim placed on to my existing tire. Being a female I’m always scared to go to car shops alone because not knowing a lot about cars makes me and easy prey for overpricing scams which has happened many times before. Although I bought my boyfriend with me, JP the owner took me right away (which I’m used to spending at least an hour and a half every time I go somewhere, even for minor routines). Although this really shouldn’t have take long it was nice that he walked me through his entire shop and let us watch him fix my problem. He was genuine and really nice and the price was perfect. He even threw in a piece I needed at most cost since it was my first time at his shop. My visit took all of 15 mins and I was on the road again! I’m really happy with my service here and have already told my family who has a lot of vehicles that always need something done to use the services at Long Island Auto Repair going forward :)

Once again I was satisfied.. I walked in and asked them to look under my car and see what the problem was. JP the owner was so friendly and took my car right away! Took 10 minutes and lucky nothing too serious and I was on my way!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO EVERYONE!!!

I ran to LI Auto Repair after my AC broke, during an extremely HOT weekend in NY this summer. They were the FIFTH place Id been to in a day that was full of auto repair shops that just couldnt help me, stating I needed a compressor they couldnt get (On a Honda Accord, really?!), and I was boiling in my car all day from driving around Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties. I found LI Auto Repair on a google search, called and spoke to someone who told me at noon on a Sunday to come in and hed help me. I drove as fast as I could from Seaford, and upon getting there, was told within five minutes what the issue was, how long it would take to fix, and that I wouldnt leave there without my AC working. A young man named JP personally stood by me through the whole experience, and he himself even drove around for an HOUR before finding me a compressor for my car. He not only provided me with EXCEPTIONAL service by driving around for me to get the part, but he and his staff stayed until after closing hours were listed just to get my car fixed. Ive never had such an amazingly satisfying experience at any auto repair shop, and felt like I was being treated with some of the best customer service Id ever had. THANK YOU JP (Seriously, he was AMAZING) AND EVERYONE, and Ill be bringing my car back there for EVERYTHING!

2002 Silverado 2500HD housing an LS motor with a laundry list of issues (knock sensor & wiring, front & rear main seal leaks, exhaust manifold leak, engine misfire, O2 sensor & loose wiring, just to name a few) and JPs top notch mechanic Carlos knocked it out of the park.He was meticulous when going through the work required for this truck to run and to run RIGHT, not just pass inspection for me to return for more work. I was constantly updated about the work and Carlos carefully explained what was being done. I would highly recommend LI Auto Repair to anyone needing automotive service.
A few days ago my car was having trouble starting and my mechanic who now I know is honest and one the best mechanics quoted me 1300 -1500 for a time chain change, I really didnt have the money I was told by the manager at Auto Zone in Baldwin NY to call Long Island Auto Repair and they would give me a better price, he said that they fix and sell cars and know what they are doing and would give me a good price to keep me coming back. Against my better judgement I called there and spoke to the owner PJ who told me over the phone that my car wasnt starting because of the TIME CHAIN, he said it would be extremely rare for my Time Chain to break, so I believed him. As soon as I arrived he had us speak with his mechanic Carlos to explain the problems i was having. Carlos said he was working on the same car I have because the Time Chain broke, that was the owners 1st lie to me. The mechanic Carlos told me that my car would start if the chain was damaged or broken. That the was the owners 2nd lie to me, I should have left then, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. The next day Carlos calls me and says he diagnosed the car and it was the Time Chain and it would cost me $3000 because he would have to put a new engine. I told him it wasnt worth it I didnt have $3000. He said if you want I can talk to the owner and we can take if off your hands, because we fix and sell cars here. I knew right then and there he wanted to discourage me from fixing it so he can buy it from me to fix and sell for profit. THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS! THEY SCAM ARTISTS AND LIARS!! Carlos do you want me to put the parts back and I said yes. I told I would have call towing to pick up my car. My mechanic called me and said why did you let some one take your car apart. I didnt know what he meant. My mechanic said my car started and now he couldnt get to start because Carlos ripped the Time Chain out of my car when he got it. My mechanic had pictures of the car before I had it towed to LI Auto Repair and took pictures when it went back to his shop. He said the mechanic at LI Auto Repair ripped my Time Chain out of my car and never put the parts back in place, it was in complete disarray. I was shocked because Carlos while trying to discourage me said all the parts are dissembled do you want me to put them back and I said yes. He was probably pissed he didnt get to achieve his devious scheme to get me to sell the car to him so he can fix and sell my car for profit. THESE GUYS ARE DISHONEST MEN AND THE OWNER AND HIM CREW ARE JUST OUT TO DISCOURAGE YOU WITH GOUGING REPAIR PRICES SO THEY CAN TALK YOU INTO SELLING YOUR CAR TO THEM AND THEY CAN FIX AND SELL IT FOR THERE PROFIT. CROOKS THATS WHAT THEY ARE...STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE GUYS

Carlos is the best He made my 20 year old car brand new again I went to 3 other mechanics in Freeport.oceanside and queens and no one could fix my problem with the engine light and the abs light except for Carlos He treats you like you are his best friend and he treats your car like it’s his

2022-03-07Long Island Auto Repair is one of the best places to bring your vehicle hands down. I have been bringing my cars to JP and the guys for the past 5 years. These guys are extremely trustworthy. They go above and beyond each and every time I visit them. The service is excellent and the pricing is always unbeatable. By far the best shop on the island. I wouldn’t bring my car to any place else. They most definitely have my stamp of approval.

2021-05-11JP was recommended by my wifes friend, and I had a huge problem with my 2013 VW CC, dash light that could possibly be on was illuminated. The care was sputtering and would not consistently accelerate over 20 mph. JP took his time and did a full diagnostic, his explanation was crisp and clear, I felt like there was a logical plan to address this issue, not like some mechanics who state oh lets try xyz the parts were expensive but when I got my car back it was purring and running like new. I think Ive found my go to repair shop, as these cars can be very temperamental.....Thanks JP FYI I typically dont write reviews...but his service and knowledge were very impressive.

2021-07-28I was referred to go to LI Auto Repair by a worker at Autozone after they were unable to provide the type of service I needed for my car. There, I met JP who was professional and helpful. I told him the problem and he offered additional service for my car to test it further. I would recommend this place and ask for JP, the owner.

2020-05-10I never post reviews but I had to for this auto repair shop. They are the most honest and fairly priced shop Ive ever been to. Im so glad I found them. They are open during the quarantine, and are very safe and helpful. BMW told me I had issues with my car and wanted to charge an arm and leg, when I brought my car here, he had the car up on the lift and showed me the places BMW explained my car needed repairs and said there is nothing to fix. He didnt want to fix something that was not broken. I was so thankful for his honesty. He even took a video so I could go back and show BMW. I would highly recommend this place if you want someone honest and fair to fix your car.

2019-08-23Great experience! I went in for a car inspection because my engine light was on. I was quoted a very high seriously outlandish price at another shop to get my car to pass inspection just off of reading my 3 codes that popped up. I doubted it, and knew it something wasnt right. I was lucky enough to be referred to a mechanic named JP at, Long Island Auto Repair. This shop & mechanic are very professional and very, very honest! They offer straight forward fair pricing. JP fixed the issue at a very fair cost for me. It was a pleasure meeting him. Ill be dealing with this shop for now on. I had very bad experiences with mechanics over the years with some mechanics overcharging, and pulling off rip-off schemes. I highly recommend this auto repair shop!
