After doing a lot of research for an engineer, we came across Al the Engineer. Al had the best reviews from previous customers and now we know why! I have used Al for two home inspections and my brother has used him for his home inspection as well. Al is extremely knowledgeable and thorough making sure we didn’t buy a house that would be a money pit. He identified the problems and gave us estimates and ways the problems could be corrected. He is incredibly patient and truly has the buyers best interest in mind. I’m so glad I used him because the first house he inspected he identified problems that would have cost us thousands of dollars so we passed on the house. Knowing we could trust him we used him for our second house and it went great! I wouldn’t use anyone except Al for all my home inspection and engineer needs he is actually one of the few home inspectors that is an actual licensed engineer!
The short version: Al is the man! We are so happy we used him for a home inspection!!!The longer version: Al showed up to the house a little while before I did and began working around the perimeter of the house. I could tell right away that he was thorough. It was also clear that he loves what he does, as he was happy to share information about his findings at every step of the way. This is a big deal for us, by far the largest investment my wife and I have made, so I was comforted knowing that we had Al there with us. He had a great personality that put me at ease with all of the goingson of the inspection, matched by how well he knew what he was doing. He was polite, he was happy to take time to answer questions, he took pictures of EVERYTHING, he sent his report for me to read later that evening (our inspection was done early and the report is sizable, I was impressed that he sent it the same day).All in all, if you need an engineer, I can tell you I am SO happy that we had Al working with us. Al is a force to be reckoned with! His level of expertise is worth far more than the cost of service. He is incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. I was in a jamb and needed an engineering inspection on a home quick. Al was very accommodating with his schedule and delivered as promised. As a first time homebuyer, Al was the best person to hire to perform a house inspection! He is an extremely knowledgeable engineer and meticulous in what he do. His end product was a thorough inspection report with pictures. Even my lawyer was impressed by his work and mentioned that the report was going to help me to negotiate for a better price. Al did an amazing job on our home inspection-- he spent lots of time answering my questions and assessing every corner of the house, and he left no stone unturned. When I sent his home inspection report to our real estate attorney, he said that it was one of the best engineers reports he had ever seen (--and hes been in business for many many years, and has seen a LOT). We used Al for our inspection this week and he was great. If you want an engineer who will tell you the truth and not what the seller or agent wants you to hear, that is Al. I had contractor friends tell me I will be wasting my money on an inspection because engineers work with the sellers and agents, but I tell you... within minutes of walking through the house with Al, I knew I had made the right choice to select him. Yes you can find someone who may charge you $50 less for an inspection (trust me, I shopped around) but Al is totally worth it. Not only is he there for your best interest but he is very experienced. These are the two main reasons why I hired him and would recommend him to anyone.
Al (Long Island Engineer) is a true, educated professional and will work in your best interests. We could not be more happy with his service and his genuine care for us as clients (and more simply, as people). We used Al for two inspections. Al was extremely thorough and was very knowledgeable about what he was talking about. Al went above and beyond, and I would not recommend anybody else BUT him. I’ve seen several home inspections with different members of my family purchasing homes, and none of the people were as thorough and on point like Al was. If you don’t utilize his expertise, you would be doing yourself a disadvantage.

I just did my home inspection yesterday with Al Triolo. Al was great! He was very thorough and had my best interest. He really cares about his costumers. When we began the inspection he asked the real estate agent to give him and I time to talk and go through everything. At one point the agent tried to make his way back to us and Al spoke up and said he would like to be left alone with is costumer. Like him I dont trust or like real estate agent myself because of how they may try and cover things up. Bottom line he made me feel protected in that he would fine anything wrong with the house and not sugar coat anything. The inspection took about 2 hours not including the half hour Al walked the property prior to me arriving. Al is worth every penny and more. Thank you again Al you knowledge and experience truly shows!
Al is an excellent Engineer. He is thorough and always represents his clients interests. He answers questions promptly and in great detail. Spending a few hours with him during our inspection really opened my eyes to the process of buying a home. He is a wealth of knowledge.
MORE LIKE A TEN STAR. Buying a home its not like buying a bicycle or a car. It is a very big investment and responsibility. One of the biggest investment some individuals will ever make in their lifetimes. Buyer beware is so true and if you do not have the right experience professional doing the right job for you could get you into a big expensive mistake later. Which is what happened to us when we purchased our very first home. We hired a certified inspector with years of experience and a year later we were forced to demolished our home . If we would have hired Al in the very beginning we wouldve never made that purchase. After doing extensive research of the difference between a professional engineer (PE) and a certified inspector and studying Al Triolos background, years of experience, training, knowledge and commitment to his profession made me very confident I had hired the best professional for this job. I have hired Al on two different occasions; for possible purchases of homes for engineer inspections. Both times the walk through and reports were on point, thorough and very accurate. In fact the reports were complimented by my attorney and a helical pile family owned company. On our second inspection a structural/foundation concern was brought up, which I highly believe this major issue could have been easily missed if the inspection was performed by an inspector and not a PE. He will work and do what is best for his costumers and treats his costumers as if they are his family. Al is completely honest on what he sees even if the truth sometime hurts. I am actually appalled by a few of the negative reviews on this site. The time that I have gotten to known Al, has shown me that not only does he have the years of experience, but he REALLY knows his stuff and takes pride in it. If you are looking for someone who is a professional, knowledgeable, honest , has integrity and wants his costumers to buy a good and safe home then this is the right person for you. I have used Al on 2 separate occasions for house inspections within the past 1 year. He is nothing short of excellent. I have never come across someone so thorough with so much attention to detail as him. What Al performs is more than just an inspection. It is a more of a forensic investigation of every system and detail covering all aspects of the structure as well as the entire property. Al did two home inspections for us recently and both times did an outstanding job. First inspection revealed too many issues (moisture hidden mold, termites). He went above and beyond to educate us on all the important issues, repairs and potential cost. He followed-up with a detailed report the next morning which included pictures and estimates. We later found another house and he inspected it as well. He did as thorough job as he did with the first one, he did not hesitate to climb up the roof and crawl into a dark crawl space. We were very pleased with his knowledge, professionalism and outstanding skills. He is easily accessible and answers all questions you might have. Most importantly, Al truly makes sure that you get the best house you can get and it feels that his interest is with you. He is an engineer who truly knows his work and is worth every penny. I called Al to get an idea of what a home inspection price would cost. I was looking at a co-op that had a slanted floor and after explaining this to Al on the phone before even setting up an inspection, he advised me to not buy it. He saved me a lot of money! I will definitely be using him again in the future.
I am So glad that I found Al. You dont find too many hard working Engineers like Al these days. He is very Professional. He takes his time to inspect your house from top to bottom. I cant stress enough how important it is to inspect your house with an expert and experienced Engineer like Al before you buy your house. Some Inspectors maybe cheap but the outcome of that is cheap too. So is it really worthy to invest in a house not properly inspected, that might end up costing you fortune? With Engineers like Al, You cant go wrong. They have spent years to get their degrees in Engineering, whereas home inspectors took a week course to get their certificate. There is no comparison when it comes to home inspectors vs Engineers. Al was so thorough with my house inspection that now i know what to improve after i buy my house. First hes amazingly responsive! He got back to me the day I left a message for him, within HOURS - on a SUNDAY! Then he continued working with me throughout the day as we tried to find the best time for the home inspection, and worked with us through phone, email and text - amazing dedication and follow through! I think Al did more work for me than my Realtor did. He is so upfront and honest and us more information on our house than our realtor did. It was clear hes honest and knows what hes talking about, he works for the buyer not the realtor. I love that he is unaffiliated. Our realtor tried hard to push banks, home inspectors and lawyers on us but it was nice knowing Al had OUR best interest in mind, not the realtors or referral kickbacks.

Al was a great choice to inspect our potential future home. He was meticulous, professional and wasnt afraid to tell us both the good and the bad. Due to some miscommunication with the seller, Al needed to return to the home on a few different occasions to make sure we got the full picture of what was going on with the foundation of the house. Al was very professional, detailed and informative in the whole inspection process and made my wife and I feel more comfortable in making the decision to purchase our first house. The first house we used Al for was a house we fell in love with and almost bought but did not end up buying because Al was able to detect multiple issues in the house that we were not made aware of. Also from the pictures below, my wife did not want Al to inspect a certain portion of the house because it looked unsafe and it didnt matter to Al because he wanted to make sure he checked every inch of the house to make sure we would be able to make our best judgement on whether or not to purchase the house. Al did a great job with our home inspection back in Nov17. He arrived promptly at the house, explained to us everything he was looking for, and asked the homeowners questions when needed. He took many pictures, tested the electric outlets, hot water, went into the attic to inspect under the roof, among other things. We couldnt test the AC or sprinkler system since it was winter. He provided a full detailed report the next day along with a great list of recommendations around how to upkeep certain things in the house. Would use again.Peter and Mike
We wanted to thank you again for your time and expertise during our home inspection last week. Thanks to your report, we acted as our own agent and we were able to negotiate for the majority of the repairs the house needed as well as take some money off the price. Al saved us from making the biggest mistake of our lives when we were about to purchase a true lemon a few months back and because of that experience, we felt confident this time around that we were buying a great home for our family. Throughout our house hunting process weve encountered so many unethical and slimy people so it was refreshing to have found Al. If you are a buyer, know that it is imperative that your home inspection is done by an ENGINEER like Al, not just a home inspector. There is NO comparison. Also, NEVER use a home inspector that is recommended by your real estate agent. Weve learned so much from this process and the biggest lesson was that realtors do not work in the best interest of a buyer or a seller, they work in the best interest of their commission. If a deal is killed as a result of a home inspection, there is no sale and no commission. How likely do you think a realtor would be to recommend a thorough engineer like Al to do the inspection if they thought it could be a deal killer? Not likely at all which is why we wanted Al from the beginning, he refuses to be affiliated with any realtors because he is an honest and trustworthy professional and does not want any conflicts of interest. It makes us sick to think back to that first house we almost purchased and where we would be now if we listened to the realtor and used his guy for the home inspection. When we found this house, this real estate agent was also trying to pressure us to use someone else and we said very clearly, If Al doesnt do our inspection, were not buying the house He quieted down very quickly. Al was referred to me by my good friend, Tony. This being my first time buying my own home as a single person, I was a little nervous. Al was very friendly and thorough. He was nice enough to talk to me on the phone a week after the inspection was over to answer questions my attorney needed some answers to. I was looking for an engineer online and called three or four of them. From the onset of my call with Al, he was a standout. It was immediately evident that Al is a subject matter expert in home structure and a highly knowledgeable professional in his field (opposed to a salesman). I hired him to inspect a home that my husband and I were ready to buy. Through Als expertise and methodical home inspection, we learned so much about that home in two hours, more than we knew from the three prior home tours and the information gathered from the realtors and internet. Al explained everything he was doing and its importance. He took pictures of the items that would be of high importance in his Engineers Report. He also advised on what he felt was a deal-breaker issue and what is not. At the end of the inspection, Al said he would send a detailed report with pictures, recommendations and price estimates within 24 hours and he did.I hired Al twice for two different home inspections and my daughter hired him twice for two different home inspections. We were both very happy with the service that Al provided. In both cases Al provided valuable information in the home inspection results allowing us to make informed decisions that avoided regret and unforeseen financial expenditures. Another family member who was selling a house, hired Al Triolo to find potential sale deterrents so they could be addressed prior to the house listing with a realtor.Al works on behalf of the buyer. He completes an end-to-end inspection, climbs into every crack and crevice of the home (literally). It is hard to reconcile 100% 5-star reviews with my experience. Al walked into the home and without introducing himself started barking questions at the seller. After that embarrassment we walked outside and he explained that he was trying to catch the seller off guard, in order to get honest answers. Um, ok. I followed him through his inspection, constantly raising questions about obvious issues which he failed to notice. (At one point he commented on how knowledgeable I was and asked what my experience is. I’m a homeowner, that’s it.) He took a handful of pictures and zero notes. He did not understand the HVAC system at all and needed the homeowner’s help to turn on the thermostat.When the report came, it was full of generic disclaimers and statements like cluttered basement (it wasn’t), basement may have had water seepage at one point, grade away from foundation, maybe this, maybe that, this might eventually need to be replaced, etc. The handful of pictures were mixed in to give the appearance of a custom report but it certainly wasn’t.One minor structural issue needed to be repaired to satisfy the bank and I had an issue with the bank accepting the homeowner’s repair. So I called Al and asked him to come out, paid of course, for a quick visual inspection. He said he’d come out, but quoted me half the price of the inspection itself to do so. And got belligerent when I pointed out that I’m minutes away and needed less than 5 minutes of his time on site.His report gave me no significant areas of concern. I bought the house and after a year I’m still finding issues I can’t believe a competent inspector wouldn’t have seen.For all of Al’s touting his engineering degree, I saw no evidence of expertise beyond minimal building inspector training. Stating that he doesn’t work directly with real estate agents really means screw you once he’s collected payment.I’ve since had opportunity to witness a “real” home inspection, and it’s nothing like Al’s walkthrough. Yes it costs more, but hopefully it’ll save you from a very costly mistake.If you don’t care about the inspection, just need something to satisfy the bank, there are cheaper inspectors out there. If you want a thorough inspection you can have confidence in, there are more expensive options. Not sure where Al’s supposed to fit in.
Al saved us from purchasing a house that had mold in the basement and a buried abandoned oil tank in the backyard. Honestly, I could not be happier.I had a competitor do the initial inspection of a house that I was hoping to buy. That competitor from PHI had been highly recommended by my boss. That inspector said the house was in perfect condition and gave us minor issues to resolve before closing on the house. With that report we signed the contract and put the minor issues to be resolved in the contract. I always knew that I liked second opinions so I had Al come in to do another inspection and to check that the issues had been resolved. To my surprise, Al discovered serious issues such as MOLD in the basement that I had intended to use as a playroom for my toddlers and a Buried ABANDONED OIL TANK. The house had gas heat and as you may know it sometimes costs over $60k to clean up an oil tank that has been abandoned. My husband and I walked away from that house and we could not be happier. Al really saved us. Use this guy! He is worth it and now we would not purchase a home in the NY area without having Al inspect it.
Al is a terrific engineer and we highly recommend him. He is very knowledgeable and truthful. Al provided us with a great service and saved us a lot of money from buying a horrible house. I wish there was an Al Triolo in every industry.I’d hire him and be rest assured that he is providing me with outstanding service. This man took his time with me, went above and beyond to find all the points of concern with the house we inspected and didn’t even want to meet with the realtors. He was 10x more loyal to me than my OWN buyers agent. I called him on 3 occasions after our first inspection with him and he answered every time, patiently going over all of my questions and concerns. Thanks to him we backed out of an accepted offer that we eventually realized would’ve been a nightmare.After receiving FIVE STAR SERVICE, we ended up hiring him for a second inspection on a much better home we found. Al Triolo Did our home inspection in June 2012 in South Merrick and all I can say is thank god for Al! What appeared to be a good looking house that showed few to no flaws, but turned out to be a wreck! I hired Al Triolo back in 2007 to inspect two homes. In the first home he found termite damage, as a consequence, I continued my search and found another house in much better condition. I was so pleased with his knowledge on the subject due to his experience that I hired him again this past month for another home inspection. Once again, his detailed report has given me a better understanding of the condition the house is in. I like that a copy of the report was mailed to me right away. We just had a inspection yesterday for a house we made an offer on, and Al is seriously your guy!!! Hes incredibly intelligent, meticulous, detail-oriented, insightful, patient, funny and most of all, REAL. Al was very thorough with our first home inspection. Not only did we receive a very detailed report the day after, but Al took the time to explain things and answer all questions during the inspection process and even made himself available afterwards via phone or email if we had any questions. As first time home owners it was very important to us that we hired a fair and independent engineer. Al is 100% on your side and will point out every little thing - I can see why some real estate agents may not like him, but to us it was a huge plus - after all he was working for us not the real estate agent (our agent was great with everything, but we could see how some wouldnt be). Another thing to point out, is that Al is a professional engineer, this made a difference to us as a considerable amount more education is required to be a PE vs just an inspector. We really lucked out using Al for our home inspection. Due to the detail of our report we were able to use it as leverage to get credit towards replacing several of the things Al recommended having upgraded or replaced. This included the hot water heater and electric service for the home. In addition, we are able to know the house we are buying is a sound structure. It’s also important to point out that I wasn’t able to be there the day of the inspection due to business travel. So with only my wife present Al made sure everything was explained in layman’s terms so she could follow a long and take her own notes on things she wanted addressed. I would most definitely recommend Al to represent me or any family member or friend in the future. A true professional!
I am writing this review, because my family really, REALLY appreciates the way Al - a total stranger - goes about doing his work, and he was just such a lifesaver to us in a rough situation, where other professionals of many stripes had failed to help at all. We recently bought a house, and we did all the things you are supposed to do. We hired an engineer (I put that in quotes, because the people using that designation are unfortunately not real engineers - They arent licensed, and they dont have an engineers education and experience.), because this purchase represented a stretch investment for us. We wanted to make sure we werent making a mistake. We didnt go for the cheapest service. We shopped around... looked for someone that we thought would take the job seriously. The guy who came through our potential house, inspecting, seemed VERY diligent. He annoyed the real estate agents with his thoroughness. He was like a robot. We got a very nice-looking report with pictures, covering all aspects of the house - from the grade of the driveway to the age of the outlets in the house.Then we bought, moved in, and things started going wrong. Leaks. Plumbing blockages. Electrical malfunctions. So here we are, a year later, and our floors are flexing and sinking... Our stairs are pulling apart from one another... The house is twisting on itself, taking the kitchen cabinets off the walls as it does it. We called Al, not really knowing what to expect. Wed tried getting other people out here, and most wanted to charge an arm-and-a-leg, but couldnt even guarantee what they would be providing to us - Would we at least have some kind of solution on paper? Would we be able to trust that we have a plan of action for this twisting/sinking problem that is trying to destroy our biggest investment? They just wanted to come out and get paid. ...No clarity on what we would get for the money. Al was very upfront, explaining what his work product would be. He came to the house, and he treated us like family. I felt like I had a wise family member explaining to me what was going on, unhurried. Al even pointed out OTHER areas, as he walked the house, where we might see future problems, even though its not what he came here to investigate. He gave clear reasons for what we were seeing, in laymans terms (which gives peace of mind), and he gave very clear instructions on how to stop the issues. Al gives the impression of a person who has the knowledge and experience, but doesnt impress you with terminology. He gets that giving you practical guidance is the end goal. Hes seen it all before and he cant HELP but to be helpful. He wants you to get the most out of your home. Compare that to the - no disrespect meant - expensive and very diligent person who came through here with their clipboard, and treated the house like a checklist, but missed out on some of these big problems we are now seeing. Als a different breed - an experienced professional and a human being.
Our inspection was superb!!- Al found things I never would have thought to look for- he is upfront and honest with you from the start- I was a stranger to him and he honestly told me to not move forward on the house before even looking at it based on the information I told him over the phone- risking losing a job without even knowing me- We went thru the inspection, and he is as good as advertised- He truly is there representing you. He does not sugar coat anything- he gives you the good and bad-- We did not buy the house, but the next one we go for inspection, or any friends/family that need an inspection- Al will be the person I refer, for sure.

I have used Al to inspect two houses in the past month (September 15th and October 1). I specifically contacted Al because of his background in engineering and needing a professional opinion on the foundation of a house. Al went over the entire house explaining to me the good and the bad in detail.His attention to detail and honesty saved me from buying a house that was most likely structurally unsound. Because of the first home inspection and the time he took to explain to me what he looks for I was able to find a house several weeks later that I felt was in excellent condition. He goes above and beyond what I expected (and what has been said) a normal inspector would do. He went on the roof of both houses and and spent a very long time in the basement/crawl space of both houses looking for problems. I received a copy of my report by email the very next business day both times. I would not hesitate to recommend him to my friends, family and co-workers who live on long island in need of a home inspector.
Al has worked with us on four properties. On two occasions he warned us against properties that had major flaws. In the first instance, as completely novice home buyers, Al helped us steer clear of a house that would have sunk us. In the second instance he was able to point out a number of significant flaws that, after 5 years of home ownership, I still was not able to recognize. Al approved our current house, which turned out to be a great buy. In our current endeavor to acquire a house in need of significant upgrades, Al worked patiently and aggressively to uncover all the problems and expenses we will take on if we go through with the deal. Al works quickly and got the final report to us within 24 hours. That report is the most important tool we have in our deliberations over whether or not to move ahead with this property. Al was my home inspector for two different houses. The first house Al found problems everywhere in the house(to many major problems), that i would not have noticed.The second house Al went threw it and told me straight up this is good house,with minimum amount of problem. Not like the first house. Al is a honest inspector, wont sugar coat anything, and would give you the best opinion on a home.

I think the best compliment I can give Al are the comments the two brokers made after the inspection. They agreed they would not refer him to their clients because he was too thorough but would be calling him if they purchase a home!

Al is highly qualified structural engineer and so easy to talk. I called Al to advise on a foundation and footing failure; and he immediately recommended a solution with his detailed report. His report was typed up quickly I used it as a blueprint to fix the house. Thank you so much.
Buying a home is such a huge and stressful thing. The old saying, may the buyer beware is so true. You definitely dont want to have any bad surprises. I didnt realize the difference between just a home inspector and an actual Licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Had to learn the hard way. Recently used the services of just a regular home inspector for a house I was interested in buying. Big mistake! Obvious areas of water intrusion and damage were not even mentioned in the inspectors report. Having the letters PE after their name, like Al has, I have now learned indicates that the person has much more education, experience and training. This area of water intrusion and damage would never have gotten past Al. He takes pride in doing what he does, has years and years of experience, and tells it like it is, doesnt hold any punches back. Also, in my personal experience, responds right away, and seems to really care about his customers. If I would have used Al in the first place, wouldnt be in the jam that I am in now. Dont make the same mistake I did and waste your time and money with just a regular home inspector. Instead, check to be sure for the PE after their name. Better yet, go right to Al, and do it right the first time!

I found Al with a basic Google search for a qualified Engineer to conduct a full home inspection. I lucked out, as I didnt realize I would find someone so thorough, and so engaged in his line of profession. Not only did Al conduct of solid home inspection, but he was very personable, friendly and didnt mind giving us advise based on his professional experience. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. He was pointing things out that I could have never thought of. At times it felt like a CSI episode for home inspections. lol. That just shows his level of experience and knowledge. Schooling can only take you so far, but nothing beats experience. Al is very professional engineer/inspector. He inspects the house very detail, willing to educate and answer your questions. I had Al inspected two houses within one month, every time he spent over two hours and found out the problems for inspecting a single family house. 2022-02-20I’d recommend Al Triolo to anyone who needs a home inspection. I was charmed by a cute, cosmetically refurbished home. Maybe you’ve been there too? In my case, I chose not to purchase it after Al’s inspection. He didn’t tell me not to, but his expertise in in explaining structural details allowed me to make an informed decision on what to do (or not) with my hard earned money. I believe that if I had bought the house, I would be immersed in world of heartache, not to mention water intrusion and mold. I’m grateful to have had the delightful Mr. Triolo there to shine a light on reality. Quite frankly, I’ve never had so much fun finding out I was within inches of making a serious mistake.Al responded to my inquiry quickly, and he proved to be knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and honest. The last time I purchased property, I called an inspector who was, albeit, a friendly person, but not an engineer, and not particularly thorough. There were many things missed in the process. You won’t have that problem with Al. And now, thanks to him, I can continue searching for a place that better fits my needs.

2021-09-13We called Al after taking down a couple of walls between our kitchen and dining room. We had a structural engineer come a couple of years ago when we were floating around the idea of opening up the space. At the time, all the walls were still intact. They came in and within a few minutes said that the walls were not load bearing. We could take them all down without supporting them. Fast forward to last week, we took the walls down and just to err on the side of caution, wanted to get a second opinion. We called Al at Long Island Engineer. He responded right away and checked everything out. He did confirm that the walls were not load bearing but felt he should go home and do some calculations. He called a couple days later to say that one of the beams could not handle the larger opening that we had created. He provided solutions. He could have just given us the short answer like the first company did. But he took his time and thank goodness he did. Now we have peace of mind that the structure of our house will be secure. Thank you Al for all of your help!

2019-07-20The first and most important fact you should know about Al is he works for you. Unlike MOST home inspectors that loosely call themselves engineers, Al is a licensed PE and will show you every positive or negative aspect about the home you may or may not purchase. AL has inspected 3 of our homes, over the last 16 years and 2 of which we lived in for many many years. His reports are extremely concise and we have reviewed them even after purchasing our homes when we had specific projects he recommended to complete. The last home he inspected for us, he even went in the crawl space that had mold and water, now thats dedication!We highly recommend Al Triolo.

2019-07-16Al is the best!! He came so out of his way today to help us plan a project and once it was all said and done we didn’t even need a report! Al is very knowledgeable and came up with a great alternative that saved us time and money. He didn’t even want his full fee even though he spent a significant amount of time with us and let us fully pick his brain. A very honest, reliable and trustworthy person and business. I would never hesitate to call him again nor will I recommend any other engineer or home inspector to my friends and family; Al is the best!

2019-07-18Al is nothing but professional and courteous. I called him with a last minute appointment request and he was able to come out and inspect the house the very next day. He took is time, went over every last detail in the house and even taught me what to look for along the way. I left the inspection very informed and confident about my knowledge of the houses condition. His report is very detailed and I received it bright and early the next day. I would recommend his services to anyone and would use him again!!

2014-10-30Al is a real professional. We needed a home inspection very quickly due to the situation we were in. I had arranged to meet him at my potential home one day and he changed his schedule to accommodate me. I then had to cancel on him due to some issues we had with the sellers. He didnt show signs of frustration which I appreciated. Things rapidly changed again and I called Al in the early afternoon on the day we originally scheduled the inspection on, and a few hours later he met me at the home.Al has been doing this for so long and has a great feel for the area. He knows what issues are common and knows exactly what to look out for during the inspection. He did not rush through anything and explained all of his findings as we walked the property together. I really enjoyed discussing the potential negatives and positives of the home with him. From an engineering point of view, he made it very clear what would need to be taken care of urgently or not if I were to purchase the home. A detailed engineering report was emailed to me within 24 hours highlighting certain findings with photos and explanations. Without hesitation, I would recommend Al to anyone considering a home in this area.
