Honestly if this wasnt so convenient to my office I would never have stayed here more than once or twice. Fact is it is very convenient, and overall very clean and reasonably priced. My biggest concern though is the number of times the fire alarms have gone off in the middle of the night. It seems to happen almost once a week, and have never received an apology for the rude awakening that happens as a result. Additionally 22 bucks for breakfast that I would expect from a Fairfield or Residence Inn, is unbelievably expensive. At one time they did have an omelette station that made the price worthwhile and were delicious. This has not been available for a couple of months now with no indication it will come back. The concierge lounge is very hit or miss for hours and many times not open at all. This week I chose to stay 20 minutes out as I decided it was worth the 20 minutes to know I will get a good night sleep.
Positive: The staff was friendly and accommodating and the entire hotel was immaculate. I checked in last minute, late night having had a personal issue & the check in person was so thoughtful & comforting. Very grateful for her kindness. Negative: The room that I had did not have the most comfortable bedding and mattress. This was the only area where I¿d give marks for improvement. The hard bed aggravated a lower back problem I was already having.
Honestly just terrible. I had to stay at the Marriott for a work trip and they WOULDNT even let me into my room! The reason because my boss had paid for the stay. Everything was done under my name but paid for by the company. Once I got there they demanded to see a card I didn’t have. Even with my boss calling and communicating with them it still took them more than an HOUR of me standing around before I could get a good nights rest. All in all, you can look as mediocre as you as you want but good service is good service and bad service is bad service
Recently renovated and modern lobby but the rooms are old, noisy with a bad room/room isolation and the location is quite remote. Some room numbers are marked on the walls by hand writing. The hotel have a van that takes u to the mall but there are few trips available and the line is huge so u better be 30 mins standing outside in order to have a place. The pool is out of service for many months. The restaurant staff at the breakfast buffet is very rude and offers a bad service. The highlight point goes to the receptionists at the front desk who are very professional.
Communication with the hotel was poor, they never answered their phone. Emailed corporate and they responded stating that the hotel would reach out to address our needs (restaurant / food allergies). Never received any follow-up from the hotel. Long lines at check-in / check-out - hotel appears to be short staffed (like the rest of the world). Confirmed for an upgrade, but then at check-in told we were not - the agent did resolve this and we ended up with the upgrade. No luggage carts available to unload bags. Photoshoot going on in the lobby. Just an all around strange vibe. We were on the fence about staying a 2nd night prior to check-in...once there we decided 1 night would be enough and chose to drive the 5 hours home the next day. Bathrooms could use updating.
My first time, there I didnt feel welcomed. I was one who felt discriminated. I am a marriott member who frequent their franchise but I will never stay there again. Maverline was super helpful and kind but the rest, no no!Its a nice hotel generally but I wouldnt encourage anyone especially a black person to stay there!
The lady at the front desk ecaterina was extremely RUDE and very unprofessional. The manager Djenane is useless and also had a TERRIBLE ATTITUDE when there was an issue with our reservation. Who’s in charge of hiring the staff?? We did not receive anything close to warm welcome and to top it all off the place reeked of cigarettes!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! We strongly suggest you save your money and take your business elsewhere… preferably a hotel with nicer staff and exceptional service.
Came here for a local weekend getaway. My partner expected more from the restaurant on site. He read reviews before picking this place. He was excited about the omelet and pancake stations. Unfortunately, this was not available. The restaurant explained they are short staffed. Tip: I suggest sitting at the bar for lunch and dinner to get faster service. Also, bring a pen, every time you go to eat, to sign the receipt if paying with a card. They never bring one with the check and because theyre short staffed it takes a long while for them to return with a pen. In terms of the room. Nice and clean. The bulb was blown on the balcony. I called front desk for a replacement. They told me theyre sending engineering up to evaluate the situation. Front desk called me back to say engineering told them that the fixtures on the balcony is only for decoration and nonfunctional. LMAO. I told her I can bring the blown bulb down and they can give me a new bulb. Front desk told me that would not be necessary, because engineering was on their way to take a look. My partner decided to take the old bulb out and we replaced it with a bulb from one of the indoor lamps, and low and behold...there was light. Received another call from front desk stating the engineering knocked on the room door and left because there was no answer. I told front desk, no worries, we just replaced the bulb with a bulb from a lamp and we fixed the issue ourselves. BTW, I asked for a outdoor chair for the balcony. Needless to say, she was unable to obtain one. SMH. One thing, Ill say, the housekeeping staff was on top of their game. They kept things cleaned and exchanged towels without issue. All in all, I would return. As for my partner, most likely he wont.
Rooms are a bit dated. Could be maintained better. Wallpaper peeling on bath. Bathroom has small sink area, tub with shower. Location is quiet though right next to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum so could be noisy during an event there. Not much of a view on the coliseum side facing west. Windows are very dirty outside even on the section with the small balcony and overhang. Large flat screen TV with streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime available. AC outlets but no USB ports. Furniture in the room seems clean but worn out. Sofa cushion has distinct sags in the middle. Bed is comfy. Typical Marriott bed. There is a mini fridge and small coffee maker in the room. The concierge lounge is minimal just open to the restaurant buffet for breakfast. Closed Friday and Saturday evenings. Not accessible for water or snacks during the day. Staff are helpful.
To start , key didnt open room door when we checked in. Had a small leak in bathroom. AC n Heat did not function properly. Sheets had mark on them 2nd night. Fire Alarm went off twice, people ran downstairs . Told by front desk you should have stayed in room till a announcement was made..Really?Towels are like sandpaper . Couldnt watch NHL network Saturday and TNT Sunday as stations were lost by Direct tv. Sunday housekeeping did not empty garbage and left used towels under sinkNot up to standards ...
I dont recommend this hotel.1st visit - they gave me a working key to another persons room2nd visit- they sent me to a dirty room, didnt do anything to make up for the second mistake, in my new room the toilet doesnt work right and the hair dryer stopped working after about a minute.Their customer service is poor, they dont answer their phone for guests and disconnect you while on hold. And also the elevators are usually broken. What is unfortunate is that I have to keep coming out here for busines and they have lost me as a customer.
They gave away my room, even though I had secured late check in, and had checked in by phone ahead of my late flight departure. The front desk staff were rude and unapologetic. I will never visit this hotel again. This is unquestionably one of the most poorly managed hotels I have ever visited. Given that this section of Long Island has numerous hotel choices, I would avoid this hotel if at all possible.
Stayed hear 3 nights first night got bitten by bed bugs all over my head. Found them crawling on the pillow. I called the front desk and they sent a manager up and he said it wasn’t a bed bug. I said yes it is he took the bugs in a cup downstairs they changed my room and never got back with me. Rented that room that same day. Just trifling and dirty I’ll never stay here again. Not Marriott name worthy.
Positive: The room was clean. Negative: The hot water in the shower could not be adjusted. Either scalding or freezing cold. This was reported to the front desk and nothing was done. The ice makers on every floor did not function. Each time ice was needed, we had to go to the front desk.
I stayed at this hotel to attend my HS Reunion. I’ve stayed in other hotels in Long Island many times, but not here based on the negative reviews. However, since this is where the HS Reunion was taking place. I booked a room. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is huge and has a really nice lobby. My room was in the 9th floor and it was huge. It was bigger than my friends room. On the 10th floor. Not sure if it’s because I’m a Marriott member. You could fit two kings in there, but I had one with room to spare. The hallways were really nice and clean. Overall, the hotel was clean. It is a Marriott so the rooms are pretty much all that same Marriott color, but aside from that, I had no issues. I also liked that the windows could be opened a bit for fresh air.The lobby was really nice and there were two sets of elevator banks in different areas since the hotel is that big. The elevator you take depends on what area of the hotel you are in. The one thing they need are better signage directing you to elevators as well as which elevator to take that corresponds to the room numbers. Parking: it was free. Also lots of parking. I didn’t have an issue finding a spot.Dining: I dined at the bar area. I ordered a salmon salad, which was good. The salmon was perfectly cooked and not dry at all. I suggest that when checking out, that you get a copy of your bill. I had to fill out a form to request my bill. It also took a little over a week for the stay to show up in my Marriott account. All in all, a good stay.
I visited NY for a leisure weekend with my H.S. Best Friends! I loved my stay at this property! The staff was very friendly and inviting during check in & check out! The Hotel was very clean! My room was very clean & comfortable! I definitely recommend this property! Marriott never disappoints me! It is a great location as well!
Enjoyed my holiday stay at the Long Island Marriott. Had breakfast and lunch at the lobby restaurant. Hotel and Restaurant staff were very professional and accommodating. Only complaint is more attention to detail by housekeeping staff because there was long strands of hair on the bathroom floor and sink area and I never got a complete set of towels during initial cleaning, I had to request wash cloths on two occasions by calling the main desk. Overall I do plan on staying at LI MARRIOTT again.
Positive: Beautiful hotel with spacious room and lots of closet space. Very comfortable. Greeted with a TV message when entering the room, which was nice. High class place. Highly recommended. Negative: People in the room next to us were smoking marijuana throughout the night. This was not a problem with the hotel per se, but something Ive noticed recently in hotels in general and mention should be made to patrons not to smoke anything indoors.
The food in the dining room was terrible, it was over cooked and cold. The wait staff inattentive waited 30 minutes fo our drinks and equally as long for dinner. Our room was on the 9th floor we asked when we booked to be on the lower floor. The room was musty smelling . Love Marriott it’s the only chain I stay at but we were booked for two nights and left after the first. We ended up going to a residence in in Riverhead we loved it there the staff was amazing the rooms clean and the atmosphere much more pleasant.
Positive: Nothing Negative: Rooms and hotel dated. Elevators did not all work. Exterior door in rear did not open/close so we had to walk/drive to front. Rooms were dated and dirty. Heating in first room would not shut off so they had to move us to another room with same issue.
Positive: The hotel was convenient and quiet. Negative: My trash wasn¿t taken out, I was not given clean towels and my bed wasn¿t made the next day. When I inquired about the service I was told it¿s only provided upon request. Also, I wanted to make a purchase and I wasn¿t acknowledged at the front
I read so many bad reviews but decided to reserve anyway as I got a good rate compared to other hotels. I was not really disappointed! I love Marriott and your hotel has met my expectations. What I liked:- The atmosphere within the reception area and the way it smelled.- The friendly staff, especially Katy from Front Desk and Michelle from the restaurant (during breakfast), always smiling, always helpful.- The free and the huge parking space.- The WiFi was efficient.- The breakfast varieties were more than enough for me.- Coffee was delicious.- The beds were comfy.- TV channels were numerous.- The bathroom was clean. What I didnt like:- Housekeeping upon request!- The room was a bit dated and the carpet smelled very bad, please change them.- Breakfast buffet: I dont really care about the hot items - so many of the bakery items unfortunately were not replaced when gone, mostly by the early cabin crew members. I particularly asked for croissants during a whole week but was told no more.- The safety deposit boxes are at the Front Desk, not in the room.- The hotel is a bit deserted, I think a shuttle bus to the nearest places would be a good idea.
Kevin and Michelle among other staff was absolutely amazing and hard working making sure my disabled grandfather was comfortable and safe..they both deserve raises and they should really be recognized for their kindness..the only downside to the hotel is we didnt have trash cans a microwave or a fridge in our room..which kinda sucks when there is a restaurant in the building and u have leftovers.
Very well designed and put together. Yes, the rooms are of the last update while the pubic areas are very new but overall the rooms are spacious and clean. Maintenance at times is lacking, but this is very much due to the use of the facilities. the Hotel service is so welcoming and pleasant to deal with.
Positive: Room was kept up well, furnishings were new, clean, in hotel dining and bar facilities were up to par. Free and easy parking. Hotel was easily accessible off the Parkway. Negative: The walls were paper thin, I got little sleep as the couple next door were chatting all night, sounded like they were standing over the bed. I would strongly recommend asking for a room with no neighboring guests.
It is half an hour far from JFK airport by car, standard rooms are with two queen size beds,a coffee maker is available but no water offered, there a shuttle bus that takes to Walmart, target and roosevelt mall;Starbucks and chipotle and some other restaurant are nearby just need to walk for a short distance.
Positive: THE LOCATION WAS GREAT AND ROOM WERE CLEAN STAFF WAS GREAT.STILL WAITING FOR MY 150.00 REFUND DEPOSIT Negative: NO MICROWAVE IN ROOM OR ON THE FLOOR ONE MICROWAVE IN LOBBY EVERYONE IN ONE HOTEL (UNHEARD OF) SHOULD AT LEAST HAVE TWO MICROWAVES ON EACH FLOOR ABOUT TIME YOU REHEAT SOMETHING IN THE LOBBY AND GET BACK TO YOUR ROOM WHATEVER YOU REHEATED IS NO WARM MAYBE.
When you book a hotel, especially a Marriott, you expect to have a quiet, clean room to sleep in. We were given a double bed room instead of the king we reserved until it was ready. The room was not clean and had the smell of cigarettes lingering. When we got to our king, it was much cleaner so we were relieved about that. We were there for a weekend wedding and arrived back around 11pm. Our neighbors were blasting music until 2am! That’s when we realized the walls are paper thin. You could hear hallway chats, doors slamming, muffled conversations. We had small children with us so luckily this didn’t keep them awake unlike ourselves. Also, the pillows are way too thin. You lay down and are hitting the mattress with no neck support. No safe available in the rooms. Pool was closed for maintenance. They’re listed phone number is not working so you can’t contact them at all.One other note, it didn’t feel safe. The side doors should be key entry only but they were not locked after 10pm. Anyone could walk in. Not sure if that was a fluke that night but it didn’t make us feel secure at all. More like a motel feeling.I’m giving it 3 stars because everyone working here is friendly, courteous and helpful. The king size room is spacious. Even though the breakfast was $22 per person and $10 for kids, the food buffet had a good selection and it was all fresh. I don’t know how much of a difference these pluses mean if you can’t get a good night sleep from this hotel though. I wouldn’t stay here again unless some upgrades are made in the future.
I stayed here mid October and got bitten really bad by bed bugs. To this day, I have been trying to get a refund for the days I have stayed but I keep getting told they will handle it and keep me updated but there are never any updates and I still have not received a refund. This has supposedly been looked at since the end of October but no ever reaches out to me, I constantly have to call myself and I am extremely frustrated because when I was there, I showed them the evidence and did not make a scene regardless of how disgusted I was.
I arrived very late and was welcomed by the front desk, all very nice. Twice I left my room and noticed the housekeeping staff was not on my floor so I stopped at the front desk to ask for service (and both days I was gone till 1am or later). Twice I came back to a room with used towels and an unmade bed. Normally I dont ask for service but I specifically asked TWICE and the front desk assured me it would be taken care of and TWICE it was not. This simple thing is enough to make me not want to stay at this hotel again. I started out loving the property to ending this way. If they could not do what I requested, then just tell me but this is unacceptable. LI Marriott - try harder or just do what you said you would do!
Love this place and stay every time I go to the Belmont Stakes. But with more people staying there, they are not matching staffing to need of service.Pool has reopened but only from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Older guys like me want pools open in early hours for morning water walking wirkouts. It was only open when I was not there.Bartenders great but consistently overwhelmed. Two Islanders playoff games next door did not help the situation, but its not like they cannot figure out these hockey games will occur.Breakfast in Crop and Kettle was ok but turkey sausage and bacon were both cutrate and really pretty bad. Hostess on a busy Saturday morning just left for 10 minutes while a long line formed of people waiting to be seated. Paying on the way out, I had another wait as hostess was again somewhere other than where she needed to be. It is exceedingly odd that the restaurant isbopen for breakfast and dinner but no lunch. No explanation, just thats the way it is.I was paying top price due to Belmont Stakes weekend, hockey games at Massau, etc. Staff at front desk, housekeeping, bar all good people but Marriott needs to hire many more.People are traveling again--hire help that is needed andvpay them fairly. Everyone knows you got a boatload of covid relief and are not suffering, so get to hiring so customers dont get less than high quality service.
Per my prior comments, I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and this was by far my worst experience. I checked in late, just after midnight. It was early Saturday morning May 22. There was no bedding in the room, only a bottom sheet. The front desk, told me there was nothing they could do as housekeeping was not available that time at night. It was obvious that housekeeping did not finish cleaning this room. The air conditioner did not work. It was 90° that day, Unseasonably warm. The bathroom was not clean and the bathroom tub did not drain appropriately and water accumulated. The next morning the entire elevator bank was out on our side of the hotel. I asked front desk for some sort of compensation and they gave us a free breakfast, but really did not feel this was adequate compensation for the situation. I have had many great stays at this hotel over the years and I was very disappointing and it appears it is really going downhill rapidly.
My go-to hotel whenever I go to Long Island. Ive stayed here 4x already and Ive always had a positive experience. Upon entering the establishment, there are a lot of seating areas with plush couches, love seats and tables with chairs in the middle of the lobby. Theres also a restaurant/bar area on the opposite side of check-in desk. It gives it a nice open floor plan concept with a high plant wall separating the elevators and the other seating area. It also gives a modern look to the place. The customer service is amazing - very professional, welcoming and friendly. The rooms are very cozy, inviting and most importantly - clean!I definitely recommend this hotel.
I have always found the Marriott family of hotels to be excellent in my experiences with their hotels. I grew up in a family business myself.Run by professional and caring staff, the organization has instilled a sense of family pride I have found only in family businesses. Stay at any of their hotels and you will be happy that you did. The Long Island Marriott was my most recent stay and was excellent in every way.
My stay at Marriott Long Island was enjoyable. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I felt safe and protected from contamination. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast, when most hotels are not providing hot breakfast. The location is convenient for my business trip, and close to restaurants and shops. I recommend this hotel.
From check in with ADA to breakfast with MICHELLE My week long stay was awesome. The housekeeper was spot on and when I came back from a long day working my room was clean and my bed made. Above and beyond service that seems to lead by the management team. The bar staff was amazing with prompt service and great recommendations. Ricardo Acobo the banquet manager was very accommodating and pleasure to engage with during my stay. I highly recommend this hotel.
Hotel staff was very good and accommodating. I had difficulty getting a decent room as the decor is outdated and the carpet or furniture carries previous odors. I pre check my room before settling in which Id recommend as the sofas and chairs may need to be replaced depending on the room you are assigned. Also, check the bath tub drains as I unfortunately had the take a shower while your feet get a bath experience with a very slow drain. I understand the staff wont know unless you make them aware, so please check before you settle in or you may be disappointed. There were also other guests who were making concerns know upfront which was actually appreciated by the front desk staff.
I had no hot water for 3 days and was told by staff that engineers were working on it. I was offered another room (from single king bed to a double). I complained after the 1st morning and didnt bother any more. An engineer was sent to my room an gave me the same excuse about pump issues. I would say that the staff were always pleasant and this could have been a wonderful stay for me IF MY WATER WAS HOT.
At check in it would have been nice to be told that cleaning my room. ( fresh towels making my bed ) is only by request. And when I did make the request even though confirmed coming back to To a uncleaned room & no towels was just not cool … tired just looking to take a shower after being out the entire day with a early flight the next morning wasn’t a pleasant experience
Its an old hotel with, seemingly, just a new coat of paint. Literally. The lobby and bar area are nice and decidedly new. The rooms are like stepping back in time. And not in a good way.Our room had a number of problems. The worst being our awful bed. It was broken in such a way that we needed to sleep with our heads at the foot of the bed.Everything else was stained. There were leaks in the bathroom. The coffee maker was prefilled with old water And the TV had a mind of its own.We were there for a wedding and only did quick drive ya of our room before settling in for the night. Unfortunately changing rooms wasnt an option for us but I have no doubt the hotel would have accommodated the request.Rooms issues aside, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful at every interaction.
Instead of charging my company card, they charged my personal bank card over $1500. They literally drained my bank account. I was told I would not see that money until 3-5 business days which means I will have zero dollars in my bank account over the weekend. No one will return my phone calls, and the manager has not returned my email. I have literally never had a worse experience at a hotel. I will never stay here again.
The hotel was fine and served it’s purpose. However prior to my stay it was impossible to get in touch with the management about trying to make a change to my reservation. Was kept being told the phones were out of service but after a week of that being the case I just don’t think they wanted to help me with my changes. Once in the hotel they put everyone in the wedding on 2 different floors except for our room which is located in the basement of the building. Upon entering the room our refrigerator was removed from its spot and left a big empty spot in its place. We had food and drinks that required a fridge so upon calling the front desk to see if we could get one put in or put in a different room that had one we were told that we couldn’t switch rooms and basically we were stuck without one. Paying so much money to stay at this hotel plus having a whole wedding stay there as well we thought we’d have someone be able to help us out but we’re told basically tough luck. Hotel overall was fine but the staff and willingness to help with our issues was terrible .
Positive: This hotel was a disaster. It was quite simply the absolute worst experience with a Marriott we have ever had. Oh and when you call the police about a stolen wallet and $4000 in credit card fraud they dont respond. Just awful. Joe Bidens Merica! Negative: This hotel was a disaster. Teens in ski masks terrorizing our teenage daughters. One mom had a wallet stolen from her room. The manager was a disaster. Hotel was being used as a homeless shelter or for low income housing.
We stayed at the Long Island Marriott in order to attend a wedding at a nearby venue. When we arrived at about 0100, we received a warm welcome. We had a delicious breakfast later that morning. The servers at the restaurant were great! Every employee that we encountered was friendly & professional!
This Marriott is only average at best! Although the guest service I received was OK, the guest service agent sent me to room 888 at check-in. Guess what, this hotel doesnt have a room 888. I went back to the front desk only to find out she wrote the wrong room number. It was actually 808. Well, I got my daily walking in searching the 8th floor. A very nice housekeeper informed me there is not a room 888.The hotel is showing major signs of wear & tear. Hallway walls are marked and dented. Rooms only come with 2 bath towels, no hand towels or wash clothes and no bath mats. Parking was kind of comical, I parked against a curb, as I was unloading my car it began to pour but the sky was clear????? OH, it was the in-ground lawn sprinklers, watering the grass and parking lot? They can be adjusted you know! Wet car, wet me and very wasteful use of water. This whole Marriott encounter showed a great lack of management, training and really not up to the Marriott standard I have been used to in the past. Courtyards do better than this hotel did!
This Marriott is a total disaster. My room was so dusty you could write you name. There was broken glass in the bathroom and spattered black something on the shower curtain. The restaurant isn’t much better. The night we arrived it was very busy the bar was full and there were about 10 to 15 tables in play. But only 1 waiter for all the tables plus he also had to answer the phone for take out orders and room orders plus great everyone that came in. On the night there was a hockey game at the coliseum I was heading to my room after watching the game in the bar and when I got off the elevator I found to young men so intoxicated they had no idea where they were one was passed out in his own vomit the other was urinating in the corner of the hall. When I called to the front desk for help no one answered the phone. This was the general theme since I have been trying to get a hold of the front desk for the last three days. But no one ever answers. I called my husband and had him got to go down to the front desk for help while I tried to figure out if what they needed was an Uber or an ambulance. Again no one to help no one at the front desk. During my assessment of the young men one of their phones rang it was a family member on the other end I was able to tell them where they were and they came and got them my husband and I had to help them down to the front area outside of the hotel for pick up and again no one to help from the front desk or any security around. Now let’s talk about the grounds they had had a couple of weddings and some other type of an event on the on Saturday but by Sunday and Monday there was no cleanup done the halls were littered with remnants of party favors and trash. Nothing large just obvious it had not been cleaned or vacuumed. I have always liked staying at this hotel but I will never stay there again.
Positive: Location was familiar Negative: The first room we were assigned had a dirt ring around the tub. Disgusting to think that they do not clean the showers. The second room had ¿short and curly¿s in the tub as well. We slept in our clothes and did not shower. Went to a better hotel nea
This Marriott is one of the best around - the service is top-notch and the amenities are well-kept and clearly customer-oriented. If you have access to the concierge lounge, it is actually incorporated into the same breakfast buffet as the restaurant and is offered daily - this is a huge benefit that sets this Marriott apart from others. The location is really convenient for both the freeways and the LIRR, as well.
The room was clean and well appointed with adequate towels etc. We shortened our stay due to concerns about Covid protocols. Although the hotel has signs up saying that masks are required, this was not enforced by the staff. We encountered multiple patrons and some staff who were not wearing masks. Wearing masks indoors regardless of vaccination status was recommended by the CDC at the time for counties with high transmission rates. All counties on Long Island were in the high level of transmission at the time of our stay.
We were on the island for a wedding at a different Marriott property nearby and had to scramble for a room when we booked late and found the block of rooms at that property already booked solid….well lucky for us because the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale was beautiful & clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We also received free buffet breakfast that was amazing…what more could you ask for! Thanks Marriott!
Overall I would say the room we had was shabby and not very clean. Also, the mattress on both beds in our room were HORRIBLE. They were lumpy and one had a distinct indent in the middle that caused you to lean that way should you try to sleep two people. Place should have been remodeled some time ago.
The stay itself was fine, but their response to billing issues is horrible. Do not stay here unless you like getting fleeced out of your money. I was there on a company trip and instead of charging the company card, they charged my personal card for over $1500 for 3 nights. I had to call 6 times, and finally got a hold of someone who has answers. I will not get that money back in my account for 3-5 business days. Meanwhile, I still havent heard back if the problem was even resolved. I emailed the manager, and have not heard back. Complete incompetence. Dont stay here, not worth it.
The Service was excellent - Francis, one of your managers was exceptional. I had to work while my wife and son were visiting family. Francis made it very easy for me by providing me a room so I can have privacy while I am on video conference calls all day long. Thanks to Francis, I was able to get my work done without my family interfering and interrupting. Francis accommodated my request and made my stay less stressful and my wife and son enjoyed their time away from home. Great job !
The disinfectant smell was strong & even though there was a sign saying its a non-smoking hotel & you will be fined if you smoke, I smelled smoke on two different floors. I am providing care for a friend who will have brain surgery next week & the smell was too much for her. We checked 3 different rooms but they all had a strong disinfectant smell. The lobby had the strongest. We ended up going to another hotel.
My stay was not a good experience, we called to check in at 2pm so our room key could be sent to my phone that never happened and then when we got the the hotel the room still wasnt ready the line was long and the person at the front desk was alone, then we needed towels and she told us to come down to the desk to get them because they had no housekeepers working. Yes I understand everyone is short handed but this unacceptable for a full service Marriott
Went here after a night out to celebrate my 15 year wedding anniversary. I reserved a room with a King bed but was told by the receptionist that the Hotel had three weddings, was overbooked, understaffed and they could only provide me with a double. I also found out that the pool wasnt working and under maintenance. Lastly the ice machine closest to the room didnt work either. Ive been a member of the rewards program for about 13 years and this was the most disappointing stay I ever had. They offered complimentary breakfast and although I understand they didnt have to do that, It doesnt make up for the the disappointment while attempting to celebrate 15 years of marriage.
Was expecting much better given the name and price. Booked a double bed room for 4 people, but room did not have enough towels/toiletries. Also, the iron was very dirty and left a mark on the clothing. The iron stand was also filthy. On the side of the bed, there was an old underwear that for some reason room service had not seen. The front desk customer service person I had could have been friendlier too. There was only one cart in the lobby for hauling luggage. Such a large hotel should have kept more on hand. Other than that, mattresses were comfortable and room was clean. Nothing horrendous, but for the price, was disappointed at these few things.
This was the worse stay I’ve ever had at a hotel. For starters, the hotel room only had 1 towel despite me indicating that it would be my, me wife, and two children staying the weekend. We were there for a friend’s wedding. The fire alarm went off waking up my infant child. They cleaned the room but did not take out the trash. We had to go to the front desk to get an additional towel, which wound up being a horrible ideal. I woke up on Monday, checked out on Sunday. With a rash on my cheeks, face, chest, hands, arms, and bottom of my feet. Went to the urgent care who diagnosed me with contact dermatitis. They only thing that could’ve touched my face, hands, arms, bottom of feet, etc., was the TOWEL. Called to file a complaint and was told by a supervisor that this is a public hotel and that I should’ve brought my own towel. When asked if the website says to bring your own towel, I got no response. Asked her if I should take out my own trash because it’s a public hotel. Again no response. Asked to speak to someone else or her superior and she said sure and disconnected the call. I would NOT STAY HERE if I were anyone thinking about doing so. Dated, over priced, and DIRTY.
I am handicapped and in a wheelchair. When we arrived, the front desk person dealt with me without issue. When my wife, who is upright and ambulatory, showed showed up it was as if I did not exist. She actually had to motion to her to give me back my credit card and hand me the keys. There was no clear indication anywhere on how to order dinner from the hotel restaurant. When I called the front desk to ask the same person who who checked us in answered. I asked her where I would find the menu for the restaurant and she gave me a one word answer: online . When I told her I did not find it on the hotel website she told me just to type in the name of the restaurant on the web. Their website didnt have it, either but it did say it was delivered by grubhub. So I used the grubhub app and I was finally able to order. There wasnt any clear explanation of this anywhere. After I ordered, we got a call from grubhub saying that something went wrong with the restaurant and our order was canceled. By this time it was 9:30 p.m. and really too late to order and eat anything since we had to get up early the next day. We both had a miserable nights sleep. The pillows were flat and the air conditioning blew very humid air no matter how cool we made it making the bed very sticky and uncomfortable. Also, the fan blew the air directly on our heads forcing me to erect a wall around my head with the extra pillows to prevent the breeze from giving me a stiff neck.If you dont see anything listed here then you can just assume that it was satisfactory or very good. I dont have the energy to write the rest. This hotel used to be better and for the money, it should be.
In not so short a summary. For discounted funds my two night cost me. From the beginning, my stay left much to be desired. No refuge liners in the bathroom or in the room. It took several attempts at calling the front desk before they finally answered their phone. Instead of sending room service to bring me liners, I was transferred to a voicemail box that only prompted me to leave a message. After informing the front desk, they sent me to a voicemail. They said someone may contact me, but no one ever did. I called n let them know I would be using the refuge receptacles without the liners, since they showed no effort to address the issue. I later opened the refrigerator, which was dirty n smelled of old mildew. The carpet had dried up food particles, and cigarette burns. My room was very poorly prepared if at all. As a senior citizen, I will rate my overall stay, very unsatisfactory. I will be following up with corporate. It is my hope they might show better care and concern, than their front desk. If not just for me and their brand, for future guest and senior citizens. We all deserve better.
The tub did not drain. The sink did not drain. The electric outlet on the night table did not hold a plug properly causing things plugged in to stop working. The A/C did not work. We switched rooms to a smaller dingy room. On top of this they charge $65 for early check in. OUTRAGEOUS!! When will they start charging for elevator usage below the 4th floor?
It is an old building but maintained well. I would say this is a two and a half star hotel, and I stayed here since I need a rest stop from the Hamptons to NYC.If you prefer to stay fine hotels, I highly recommend to look for another one. Towels looked old, they need to upgrade certain things immediately.I arrived the hotel around 9pm, tired, found out that breakfast buffet was included to my reservation, however it ended and was no longer available. Wish front desk staff informed that when I was checking in.Lobby gets crowded and front desk get busy around 11am-1pm as they process check ins for flight attendants from multiple airlines.
My family and I chose to stay at the Long Island Marriott for a family weekend trip. We were planning on relaxing and using the amenities. However, the pool was closed during our stay. This was not noted on the website. I used my points for this stay and am disappointed that the pool was under repair. This is the second time this summer that I have used my points on a Marriott property with a pool that is closed. As an Elite a member, I am disappointed in the lack of communication on website or notification at the front desk that the pool was closed. It may not mean something to all guests but to us it did.
My sheets were dirty the first night I arrived but I didnt find out until AFTER I slept in them. I asked for clean sheets and twice they gave me the wrong size before telling me they were out and that there would be more in the morning. Naturally I was like, what am I supposed to do tonight? and they made me switch rooms just for clean sheets at 1AM. I stayed for 7 days and was there for work, so I had to move a lot of stuff. They comped me for the first night, but I kind of think I deserved second night too for the inconvenience of switching rooms. Front desk is impossible to reach by phone and always a line. Hotel bar/restuarant is way overpriced for the quality/the kettle burger was really good. Still not worth 30 bucks for a burger and a beer. Rooms are only soundproof wall to wall, but lets in A LOT of hallway noise.
Horrible experience... this hotel is filthy!!! The rooms are dirty, bathroom had no towels and when I asked for towels I was told they ran out!!!!! The paint on the walls in the room and out in the hallways are peeling off the walls. There was a horrible smell in the room and the tub in the bathroom was dirty and the sink Faucet was leaking. The sheets were dirty and dingy looking. I had the worst experience at a hotel and I will not be going back again. This hotel needs a total makeover!!!! The only nice place at this hotel is the lobby.
There are many ongoing problems at this hotel that don’t get addressed. First of all, their phone number is out of service and even Marriott customer care can’t reach them. They don’t have enough luggage carts and everything is a long walk. if you have a lot of stuff to bring in or out for a long stay or a wedding, or if you are elderly or disabled, you are out of luck! There are cars racing in the parking lot next to hotel starting very early on Sunday mornings. It’s so loud, you can’t sleep or stay in the room because it’s so disturbing. The management has done nothing about it. The front desk employees are not all trained well and gave me misinformation or didn’t give us our Lifetime Platinum check-in gifts or breakfast as they should have. There is always a long line there so you can’t get help quickly. There are so many issues that I never experienced at a Marriott before that I’m really surprised. On my last stay the air system in the suite was broken, so either you had ice cold air or nothing. This hotel needs an overhaul!! I needed to stay at this location and used points. The price they charge is not worth the issues they have. I wouldn’t book a wedding here just based on how the hotel is run.
I had a hard time getting through to the property to modify my reservation, but corporate helped me through Twitter and I had zero problems with my reservation. Staff is super friendly. The public areas are updated and very comfortable. Rooms could use a little refreshing here and then, but overall everything was great.Im sure Ill be staying here again next year!
This hotel was very disappointing for a Marriott brand. The hotel is located next to the coliseum and is a huge hotel with lots of rooms. It has the appearance of a 5 star hotel when entering but you can tell its dated. No reason however to downgrade to a three star at this point. We had a two day stay. First to the positive, which was the staff. Super friendly and no complaints. The room was clean and we had a quiet corner. When we got in the room I noticed only two bath towels, no wash rags or medium towels which was odd. Since we had a late check-in I was too tired to bother asking for a wash rag and figured I make due without and ask the cleaning crew in the morning.Next morning cleaning crew said they had one medium towel to give us....okey....?We went downstairs for breakfast and found found out that breakfast was $22 per person. Do what?? Since I am an Elite member it was for free but there was several families with children and it seemed they were just as shocked as I was. Coffee was $4.95. Really? So you would think for that kinda money you would get a extravagant meal but nope....same stuff you get for free at any other Marriott. Powdered scrambled eggs, dry turkey pattie, bacon your not sure if its real, etc. The service however was like you are in a first class restaurant. We left for the day, came back in the evening to find no service was performed in the room. Bed was not made, no fresh towels etc. What?Found the cleaning crew in the hall...still at 6 PM...she said they had no towels all day to give out...wow!!! One might blame Covid but two days in a row...Next day breakfast again...same stuff...For the price you pay, this is not at all ok. I would call this poor management. Sorry Long Island Marriott, your Brand is more respectable then what you offer at this location. Very disappointing.
Visiting for one nite for business, I got in at 8:30 I just needed a bed for the night.Clean yes, but at around 10:00 pm there was constant door slamming till about 11:30 pm. Which I ignored I knew their was a wedding. 4 am I was awoken to constant door slamming again until roughly 4:45.I then woke at 7 got dressed opened my door to realize there was a maintenance room across the hall. Then I witnessed one of your staff walked out and the door slammed close. Your staff has no consideration for your customers and their sleep.
Staff is great, premiss is terrible. This place needs major renovations. Everything is broken and/or falling apart. Way too expensive to charge hotel prices for less than cheap motel quality. Not to mention additional hidden fees they charge on the daily! I stayed here 8 nights, trust when I say save your money, look elsewhere. There are 2 washing machines 2 dryers for 11 floors - the laundry room smells bad, machines are small and need to be serviced, water leaks out of machines and dont drain clothes properly (1/4 filled). Gym equipment is okay but the room itself, the sealing particularly, is falling apart. The rooms restroom needs new wall paper. The light fixture was dusty and had webs. The fan did not exist. The rooms chair was so old and dirty like pulled from a dumpster. The mattresses hard and springy, so painful to sleep on. No microwave in the room. Not able to connect to free wifi even though basic was supposedly included with the room.On the positive, their staff is friendly. Their main floor is nice. The rooms have a mini-fridge, TV, a coffee maker, hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board. They have a technology room in the main floor but expect to pay $.49 per minute. They have a restaurant and bar in the main floor. (Theres no updated menu anywhere online or in the room). They have parking onsite, though not covered and costs $12. There are no buggies to help with luggage, but at least elevators are pretty fast.Really wish the experience was better. The workers were great which lets me know their head staff are the stingy ones making it a terrible premiss. Ive stayed at numerous humble motels on road trips that were much better than this hotel.
Although I started off with a five because the overall experience was good, the housekeeping staff being excellent, and the air conditioning in the room worked great, my general comment about the hotel itself was that it was super clean, and security was good even though it looked like there was plain clothes people walking around which made me feel safe. This hotel was opened in 1981 and is in serious need of a redo a refurb and a serious upgrade on the rooms. Just explain and not complaining but the room was very dated there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom and I feel like I just stepped out of 2021 and back into 1982. This swimming pool and the racquetball courts were closed obviously I believe because of covid as well as the steam rooms being closed as well. No surprise there because the staff and the hotel itself gave you the feeling that the covid issue is very serious which it is and they were taking every single solitary precaution to make sure that your health safety was being addressed.
Only reason I have for taking off a star is that there were 2 dirty towels among the clean ones. Almost wiped my face with something with a grey/brown stain. Also the room smelled weird. Since it had two balconies we assumed the cigarette smoke was seeping in from our top or bottom neighbors. Breakfast was great, it was very filling. And the staff was always super friendly and helpful.
Stayed here for a work trip and I will be giving a strong statement to the company to use another hotel in the future. My room had no iron and no fridge. Barely enough towels to last the entire stay. You have to pay for wifi. Despite asking for these on the phone and in person nothing ever came of it.Fire alarm went off at least 4 times the night before an important meeting. People smoke in their rooms and set it off. It went off two of the three nights I stayed there. The walls are so thin that my neighbors coughing kept me up all night long. You also can hear their alarm. The gym had no water and no wipes for the machines in a pandemic, luckily I travel with my own.The check-in was confusing. The manger on premises started to address someone else’s while I was still standing there with questions. The only positive is the reasonably priced food at Crop & Kettle. I leave honest reviews only, this hotel is staining the Marriott name.
I spent 24 nights at the hotel. Good breakfast (although always the same menu). Very good bar and restaurant: drink, food, and service. Michelle, John, and Chris are the best! Housekeeping was on demand because of COVID-19. I requested housekeeping 4 times while I would be away, and it was never performed, so I complained and they did it while I was waiting at the bar
My overall experience was quite good having stayed at the location many times before. The staff extended themselves in every way possible and the room and elevator were well sanitized. The coffee maker in my room did not work. I reported it and we were offered Starbucks coffee in the lobby which was even netter.
Worst experience at this place. Unprofessional very unhelpful the senior manager Francis was rude. My friend booked a suite for her wedding a month in advance and the day before we come to check in they don’t have suites available and and left us stranded without a room. Please do not come here. Book some where else. I would give this place a 0 if I could.
The lobby is very nice. The room is not. Not enough towels and no wash cloths. When you have to go to the front desk to get your towels, you should get paid. Did anyone see the pool? You can’t swim in it. Your “Hotel” is not worth the money. I won’t stay there again.
My family and I had a little situation, but it was taken care of in a professional manner. The food staff was great, along with the general manager. Thank you for your assistance. My wife and I enjoy our stay. We will recommend our friends and family to stay at the Marriott in uniondale NY. A very professional atmosphere
Room was just awful. No HOT water, got to lukewarm at best after they sent the engineer who ran the water for 10 minutes. One bath towel, and a face cloth provided for 2 guests. Got questioned when I asked for more. Room was not serviced. Ceiling in the bathroom was dirty and peeling in multiple spots. Coffee cups in the little coffee maker, were too small for the lids to fit properly. Honestly we travel often, and this was not what is expected from a Marriot. The bed was comfortable...so there was that. Overall, a very unpleasant experience, especially for the price tag. Would not stay here again.
Upon check in the front desk attendant informed us that she couldnt take a cash payment and couldnt explain why. We expressed we would provide card for incidentals bout wanted to pay cash for the room. Nowhere online or the website or was it posted anywhere that cash payments would not be accepted. It caused a great inconvenience to us. I am very familiar with this hotel. However, this time I checked the air filter in the room I was in and the room my son was in and it was filthy. Looked like it hadnt been changed in months. My son spoke with the front desk and they in turn requested the HVAC tech who was nearby to speak with my son. My son shared our concerns and displeasure about the filters and requested them to be changed. The filters were not changed in the rooms even after requesting them to be changed. Totally unsatisfying and unacceptable.
Everyone is very helpful from reception to the bar! A special thanks to Djeannine and Flor María in reception. There were 2 bartenders named Chris, both amazing! Best stay ever. Our son is staying about 10 minutes from the hotel, so definitely we’ll be back. We didn’t really eat at the restaurant, as were vegetarian, we went and explore other foods.
The logo outside may be Marriott but this hotel doesn’t function like one. It’s more like Motel 6. Service is terrible! Requested room service no one cleaned the room and now it’s almost noon and we can’t take a shower as the hotel is out of fresh towels. When they do clean they either don’t leave enough towels or cups or toiletries. Always a surprise. Coffee machine was broke a few times. Water was out. Some of the staff members are very rude. Two nights in a row the fire alarm went off while we were asleep.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was quite small but clean. It was great due to us only needing to be their for a single night. However a very large group of people had come to use the bar to watch the game and were extremely rowdy, swearing, running up and down the halls, publicly intoxicated, inconsiderate of other guests. Etc. Multiple clients trying to sleep or rest or use the lounge themselves found themselves unable to. And staff could do little but explain that because they were paying customers they could not be kicked out. This is understandable and I feel for the staff in a tight situation but most hotels are meant for rest and work, not partying so the lack of concern regarding how disturbing this group was and how dirty and loud they were made the experience difficult to enjoy.
I have never been so disappointed in a Marriott. I dont know if this was just a fluke couple of days but heres what happened. Check I was horrible..1st the key given didnt work, then when the key worked, we found we were in someone elses room. They accommodated & put us in a suite but then the fridge wasnt cold & it had no freezer or microwave. On top of that, the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. Housekeeping had records that we were only staying 1 night. The entire stay They had no towels or wash cloths. Just horrible. I will never stay here again.
Ive stayed here many times and this was my most disappointing experience. We refused service at the restaurant because they were going to close in 30 minutes. There were no towels in my room upon check in and no towels in the whole establishment when I went to the front desk to ask. On day 2 I finally got 2 towels but no wash cloths. The saving grace was the beautiful young lady at check in. She was kind and very apologetic. I saw her get yelled at by a few other guests and she never lost her cool and maintained her smile and professionalism.
We had an absolutely horrible experience at this hotel. Most all of the staff was unfriendly. (ALL but one front desk person were rude, the bartender on duty in the evening was rude, and the housekeeping staff was very rude.) When we arrived, although the only ones in line to check in, we had to wait 10+ minutes. The individual checking us in said, sorry for the wait, but my friend and I were catching up since we hadnt seen each other for a while. The hotel (except for the lobby) was very dirty. Our room did not even looked like it had been cleaned. And they did not tell us at check-in that the hotel policy is that housekeeping does clean your room until after your 6th night of stay! When asked for at least some fresh towels, toilet paper and tissues, the housekeeping originally said NO, but eventually obliged us after we complained to the front desk. The fire alarms went off on two of the three nights that we stayed, multiple times each night, which was disturbing and frightening. The breakfast was buffet only and it (and the coffee) was horrible.Although we have never had to write a negative review, this one was a must. We VERY sadly have nothing positive to say about our stay at this hotel. We have been very happy with our stay at Marriott Hotels over many years of travel. However, this will not be one that we return to.
I took food there an eighth inside it is still set up very nice there where if you bring a lunch you can sit down and eat. Very clean and sad to see how empty the hotel is due to the virus. I did come across some staff there and they were very polite and happy to see someone sitting in there Hotel. So ending this its a good place to go with someone if you pack a lunch and to be able to sit and talk thats not very crowded .
Nice hotel, however no maid service, which we did not expect.Linen truck broke down so we had 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, and 1 wash cloth for 2 people.Manager brought 1 more bath towel and 4 washcloths about 3 hours after requested.Long lines at check in with sometimes just one person at the counter.Good news: bartender at the bar on Sunday night was personable and made very good margaritas.
Probably one of the worst hotels Ive stayed at, especially considering the name and the cost. The only good thing I can say is the friendly front desk staff. Theres a parking lot but youd have to be lucky to find a relatively decent spot. Fire alarm went off at 4am (based on previous reviews, this is common). Got in our room, TV didnt work. The first 3 ice machines we used didnt work, took 20+ minutes for staff to find and bring us ice. Toilet runs. No microwave in the room. DIRTY, even the main bathrooms in the lobby looked like a gas station bathroom. Hot water barely works. Garbage in the hallways along with obnoxious people. $20 for mediocre breakfast buffet.
The lobby and bar area were great. Friendly staff and above average food for a hotel restaurant. The rooms were a different story, very dirty with stains on the chairs/curtains/towels/rugs/sheets in both rooms my family stayed in. Garbage cans dont have liners of any kind. Room furniture is chipped and has that made for a hotel 20 years ago feel to it. Mattress and pillows extremely uncomfortable. The list goes on, very unexpected for a large hotel right near a high profile venue. If we were staying for longer than 1 night wed have sought out other accomodations.(Some of my family actually complained that I didnt give one star, the bar staff is the only reason it didnt)
My room was clearly not cleaned properly. I am not the type to wipe things down at a hotel but I felt like I had to wipe all surfaces that I would touch bc no one else did. There were hairs on my stiff bath towels and marks on 2 pillow cases and when I asked to have new ones brought up I was told there was no one available to bring them to me. After going down to get them myself I come back up only to find they gave me the wrong size cases and I had to go back down where they once again gave me smaller pillow cases after I explained the first ones they gave me were too small. To top it off the fire alarm starting going off for a good 3-5 minutes and it took about 10 more minutes for anyone to acknowledge that what caused the alarm to go off had been corrected. I was in town for a funeral and so these small annoyances were not what I needed especially with the amount you charge for rooms. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.
While the staff was friendly, this is one of the dirtiest Marriott properties I have visited and I was embarrassed to have gotten rooms for family members. My room smelled strongly of smoke, there were stains on the bed, and there were plugs of hair in the bathroom. My new room had stains on a chair and also smelled of smoke.I would not recommend this property to anyone.
Comfortable hotel with plenty of free parking. Had lots of issues and the front desk was gracious about resolving everything. If you are driving, pay close attention when you exit, as the turn to the hotel comes up fast and if you miss it, it is a really long loop around to get back. No signage so keep your eyes open!
My wife and I have stayed at this Marriott many times over the years. This time was our first time venturing out since covid, we were extremely disappointed. When checking in, the front desk did not notify me of new covid policy that if you don’t request housekeeping, they will not come. SURPRISE! When I came back late to the hotel after being out all day and went down and discussed this with the front desk, the receptionist took a sign from the side, showed it to me and another guest who had the same issue saying this is our policy. I was furious how she handled that. Then the night manager came and I said to him don’t you think you should be managing the expectations of your customers at check in? He had only 1 set of clean towels for me and my wife. I was furious. Next morning, they had no hot water. This is not the experience I come to expect from a Marriott. We stayed 2 nights and for the first time, had a horrible experience. 1 set of towels for 2 people in a hotel with hundreds of rooms? In a hotel like this??? Something is seriously wrong.
Positive: The room was very nice. HBO and Showtime were provided. Location was good. Negative: The pillow gave me a neckache. An alarm went off 3x late at night or early morning waking us. The Nassau Coliseum is next door and the parking lot was loud after games. A microwave wasnt provided in the room. The restaurant didnt offer vegan options.
Issued wrong room at check in. We were given the correct room eventually, but had to carry all of our bags back down to the front desk first. Second room we were placed in had a concave mattress on the bed that made sleeping comfortably impossible. Some bizarre alarm went off in the middle of the night, followed by a PA announcement from the manager advising that she was investigating the alarm, then another announcement advising that the investigation had concluded. After that, the PA in the room continued to hiss and pop for hours. We slept terribly and asked to be moved to a third room. The third room had a more comfortable bed but the TV (with the remote control on the nightstand) would turn on in the middle of the night. Additionally, the building does NOT have in-room air units. The thermostat would only allow for heat and the only way to cool the room was to open windows. Trying to sleep with the windows open next to the Nassau Coliseum while an Islanders game lets out is impossible. Calling the front desk about ANY of these issues took at least 4 - 6 attempts as no one would answer the phone in a timely manner. We had a terrible stay, slept very poorly, and were not comfortable. Not worth paying for, an absolute waste of money. Will not be back, will not recommend.
Hotel is overrated. Not worth the high price. Family booked 4 rooms. You have to pay extra for wifi $9.95 a day. They didnt provide enough towels for a double bed room and they were unable to provide us with wash cloths because they said they ran out. Unbelievable. Rooms are small, carpeting looks old. Will not be staying there again.
Rooms are very tired. Not enough personal supplies in the room considering there is basically no housekeeping service. I never want to have to walk through the lobby and into the elevator every day with toilet paper and towels. And I never will again, because I will stay somewhere else.
I stayed in this hotel for 13 nights and my room was cleaned once (on the 10th day) after asking the front desk several times. I had run out of clean towels and toilet paper and had to go down to the desk to get some. Every single staff member at the front had a nasty attitude and did not help in any way. There was no communication whatsoever and the room was disgusting for the amount they charge. I will never stay in another Marriott again despite being an elite member.
Very disappointed had amazing dinner and drinks down stairs but when retired for the night was unable to sleep. Worst bed I ever laid in. After being restless for hours I just checked out and left. Was suppose do breakfast with the rest of the wedding party but I could not take that bed one minute more.
Location is great if you are visiting the Long Island area. The Lyft ride can be pretty pricy so I would suggest transit to save money. The bus stop is a 10 minute power walk at minimum. A shuttle to and from the airport for guest would be great. Our room was fairly clean with the exception of an old dental floss pick found underneath the bed. The first day I was pleased with the customer service from the people working at the front desk. Customer service was great for the most part. One particular time I could over hear an employee raising his/her voice at other employees. I would encourage staff not to do that. Apparently, the rooms are cleaned on the third day of your visit unless you request it. I would possibly stay here again if I needed to return to Long Island.
Overall I would have recommended the hotel but the heat didnt work in my mothers room and it became an issue. We checked in after 9 pm, called about the heat around a half hour later after trying to let it run, then again about an hour later later when no one came. An engineer finally fixed it, but it went out again in the middle of the night. My mother tried calling for service but no one answered the service button line from the room phone so she had no heat on a chilly night. I addressed it with the clerk upon checkout but she did not seem very concerned nor attentive to me, she never even looked at me during the transaction. When I indicated that I thought I should receive compensation she offered me 500 Bonvoy points. Still never looked up from the computer. (I was the only one in the lobby so it wasnt a high traffic/stress time). Otherwise all staff were very professional and accommodating ( the manager gave us welcome bags with water and snacks when we checked in, which was a nice touch). The buffet breakfast was a bit pricey ($20) but we appreciated the COVID safety precautions they took for service.
Positive: Congenital and hospitable staff. Convenient location Negative: Was fully booked, got a room by the ice machine, convenient to elevator, but noisy. Bed was worn, mattress was too soft around the upper torso causing me sink into the mattress and to wake up several times because my back was hot even with the AC on 68.
I thought the price was high for what you got and most the staff not helpful and unfriendly. I guess cold would be a better word for it. I had to get more towels and washcloths because there were only 2 towels in the room and I had to wait for at least 5 minutes for someone to help me even though they werent helping anyone else. I was ignored. Maybe because I was in a car for about 20 hours and looked like it. I wasnt asking for my butt to be kissed. I just wanted to take a shower and relax.
Ive never been so disappointed in a Marriott property, as I am with Long Island Marriott. As a Platinum Elite member, I usually get some benefits. Nothing. Not even offered a bottle of water. $4 for a coffee that used to be gratis. NO housekeeping for two days. When I called for towels, they sent up 1 bath mat, 2 hand towels and 2 top sheets. Afterstaying at this property for years, its off my list. Rooms are dingy and they allow tailgating in their parking lot for games taking place st the coliseum. If I could give Zero stars, I would.
Especially liked the Platinum Member recognition, and the free breakfast (finally)! A little taken back in the room. It was clean, but only had two bath towels, no hand towels or washcloths. We were in a rush and never had a chance rectify. Also, pool was out of operation.
I was attending a wedding and there was a block of rooms reserved. I could not get into my hotel until after 8;00 p.m. I got dressed and ready in the bathroom. When asked if I could get comped for one of the three nights, it was not even entertained. For what we paid, would never stay in this hotel again.
Excellent experience. We booked through Expedia and there was an issue with our check-in where Expedia had told the hotel we were going to arrive three days later than we actually did. The person who helped us, Katy, was extremely helpful and professional and was able to get us into a room quickly and with no stress. She even helped us avoid charges for wifi. Stay was comfortable and we’ll definitely return the next time we’re in Long Island.
The chair in the room was full of stains which was gross to look at at and couldn’t help at looking because it’s right next to the bed. The room smelled because the carpet was clearly dirty and full of stains. The wooden bed headboard had splash stains all over it and clearly it was not wiped/cleaned. There was no one to acknowledge a question/concern via the mobile app. I was allowed to request a rollaway bed, but find out I wasn’t getting one because the room had 2 double beds in there. Overall, would not recommend hotel until there is an upgrade to the rooms and furniture.
Worst Marriott we have ever stayed in. Smelled of mildew, and wet carpet in room. Extra thin walls - heard clear conversations in the room next to us. Parties all night long. Group of people outside the main entrance at 4:00 am so loud we woke up (on the 7th floor). We were supposed to return in two weeks, and cancelled.
Very convenient location. Our two room suite was humongous. Extremely helpful and pleasant staff.Marvalon at check in & Farrukh the manager went way beyond the norm finding and getting ready our room after we made a last minute request for a larger room. Will stay here whenever we are in this area.
Disappointed in hotel. No breakfast available. Since their policy of not cleaning your room ever day , even if you ask them to. You do have a coffee machine in your room , however if housekeeping doesn’t come in to clean coffee, cups etc. are not replaced. The only coffee in the lobby will you cost you $4.00 each. We had to get fresh towels from the front desk and coffee and cups there as well.I found this hotel to be taking advantage of their guests and certainly not worth the price.
When I enter the lobby to check in there was 1 person assisting 6 guests, there were 2 other employees standing by laughing and singing (1st impression) When stepping off the elevator we were hit with the smell of cigarette smoke, there were guest sitting in the hall way smoking and drinking beer (no staff Insight) . The hotel had NO wash clothes or hot water, when I requested an additional hand towel I was given a bath towel and bath mat ... I requested a manager & was told there was no manager available.. to date no one has returned my call regarding this disappointing stay ..
Considering this is a major Marriott property in the NY City area the condition of this Marriott was extremely disappointing. The overall condition of the hotel was one of long term decline and indifference to appearance. Our bathrooms wallpaper was peeling off, the bathroom door showed signs of deterioration, the bathroom fixtures looked chipped and worn and the room was tired, worn and sad looking. While I understand the limits on housekeeping due to Covid, with restrictions rapidly starting to be lifted, the inability to have housekeeping do a quick cleanup up and towel replacement in our room even once during our 4 night stay is inexcusable. Not even close to the level of quality I have come to expect from Marriott.
Out of all my stays within and outside Marriott this has been the worst experience ever. I would not recommend this place to anyone.1. Reception is empty when you need someone. You really have to sit and wait for someone to show up.2. Tv doesn’t work in the room and I asked it to be replaced but no response in 10 days.3. No upgrades for platinum members even when the hotel was empty.4. No locker on the suit I booked. Never have I ever seen that.I can keep going but there is no point. Super disappointed.
Terrible customer service currently on my third hour waiting for them to clean my room even though I arrived 45 mins past check in time and I was told they were in my room cleaning 2 hours ago. Not the first time this happened either. The last time I was not mad and assumed maybe they were bustier than normal. Will never stay here again.
I understand that times are challenging during the Covid, however, staff was limited at this particular Marriott. We had to wait in line at check-in/out, and when we rang down to speak to someone, the phone would endlessly ring. Additionally, when we requested sheet/blankets, we were told we had to come get them ourselves, as they didnt have anyone to deliver them to us.Lastly, the pillowcases smelled like smoke in a supposedly smoke-free environment. It doesnt make for a great nights sleep.
We always stay at this Marriott when visiting family in Long Island . This was our first time since COVID we were pleased with the cleanliness of our room and felt very comfortable. We did notice that the side entrance carpet needed to be vacuumed from dirt brought in for the 2 days we stayed. The breakfast buffet was disappointing .
We were not told that because of covid they don t replace towels or clean room daily. It would have nice to been informed of this.Coming back to hotel after a long expecting to find clean towel and room. Bur overall great hotel, and location to near by family residence
First impression.. this place is beautiful. Thats where it ended. It all started with the check-in process. I believe the woman who checked me in was training which is fine and I understand that will slow down the process it does not excuse the rudeness that she had. I was speaking with my travel companion and she looks at us and says, Do you have something to say? Hospitality and Customer Service were lacking 100%. If she was training and needed help the manager should have stayed by her side as it was obvious she was struggling with what I was asking. She had to ask him for help twice and at no point did he take the time to stand with her and make sure she was ok or that the guest was taken care of. I asked for one reservation to be paid with one card and another with a different card. I had also requested that 2 rooms be connecting. After about 20 minutes, we did get all 3 rooms. The non connecting reservation was made for a room with 2 double beds. When we went to the room it was an accessible room with 1 bed. This was quickly resolved by another front desk person who was very friendly and professional. We now get to the rooms and between 2 rooms, had 3 bath towels, no bath mats, no hand towels or face cloths. The door of the cabinet that held the fridge fell off the top hinge as soon as it was opened. I did report this to the front desk and they were aware but it was never addressed or fixed during our stay. By day 3 the door was off its hinges and resting against the cabinet. On our 3rd day, I called as the rooms had not been serviced. When housekeeping arrived and I opened the door her first question, Are you staying in here? I explained that we would move to the adjoining room to give her space while she cleaned. She never even vacuumed the rugs? In a semi pandemic world cleaning should be a priority. The surfaces were not wiped desk, counters. The linens were changed and toilets wiped down which I do not consider cleaning. On day 3 (Saturday night) we had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was a limited menu not sure why (burgers, quesadillas, etc). We had a party of 7 and 2 people were on a separate check. Their food arrived 20 minutes before the rest of the table. We all ordered at the same time and obviously came to eat with each other not watch each other eat or have to wait and have a cold meal as you wait for your dinner companions to eat.Not a good Marriott Experience.
I stayed one night for business, and the hotel was pretty worn looking. Walls are thin so you can hear people in the next room clearly talking, elevator buttons didnt work, had to order Uber Eats because the hotel restaurant is closed in the afternoon and no walkable restaurant options nearby, and the cleanliness of the room was questionable.

2022-06-26What can I say, the lobby was updated and pleasant. At the bar you’d have to fight to get a drink and get a bartender to even acknowledge you, but that’s not the bad part. When I entered my room it was an “upgraded” room. The audacity for them to call that an updated room it looked like a hotel from the 90s and not in a good way. Stained carpet and an odor. During my stay I couldn’t in the room, I was way too uncomfortable, come to find out there was an outbreak in my hotel room. Do yourself a favor, bring a beach chair and a blanket you’d be better off. Their beds are infested with bugs that you’ll bring home. I’m quite sure they didn’t change my sheets before I arrived and I took them home. Never again.

2022-03-02Gorgeous hotel, comfy, modern.Breakfast is very good, besides the bad humor from the attendants that was mad when asked for silverware and cups because all tables were full and weren’t cleaned. We had to manage room for ourselves. You must try the omelette prepared at you order, the lady who prepares it has a tricky it is really good. She’s been doing it at least 6 years since the first time I tried it on my first stay. It’s worth the tip.

2022-06-15Stayed here for 2 nights while attending an event at Hofstra University nearby. I used public transportation to get to this hotel and it wasnt too bad. The hotel has dining options and a bar. The sprawling lobby is pretty cool. During check in the lines were a bit long. Room was clean and comfortable. Sleep quality was good.

2022-05-29Customer service was horrible here. They were friendly but poor service. Dont bother submitting a request through the app. They just close the request without providing service. Dont bother trying to call the front desk they wont answer. I expected more. it would have been nice to have a microwave in the room so I could have heated up my left over shellfish. The one in the lobby couldnt be used to heat up shellfish. (I understand the whole allergy thing.. but not everyone has an allergy) The hotel overall is nice.

2022-03-07Originally booked this room because I had a concert tickets at the Nassau Veterans coliseum. It was perfect! We were within walking distance to the venue and also enjoyed and add on of a pre party and after party that the hotel offered( add on price). Our room was okay it seemed as if housekeeping was in a hurry and didnt wipe off the tables. We called and they came up and wiped everything down for us. Very accommodating. Will consider staying there again.

2022-01-20Below average experience. Not Marriott standard. There are many better options available in nassau county. The morning receptionist and management staffs are all busy drinking coffee and wondering around. One of the receptionist was wearing her uniform like she just got up from bed. No toothpaste and toothbrush available in the whole hotel. The TV in the room had a black mark in between the screens. The housekeepers are obnoxiously loud around 9am, talking on the phone and with each other. I can go on and on. Not coming back, thank you. Look at other options; there are plenty available for a better price within a fifteen minutes drive.

2021-12-08My wife and myself stayed at the Marriott. My aunt booked the rooms. My aunts room was great but our room had problems. First , the security lock was not working the night we checked in. They sent someone to check it . He did something to get to work but by the next morning, it was not working properly. The coffee/ hot water machine was filthy. My wife wanted hot tea and the water when heated was coming out black. It was filthy because the cleaning staff dont clean the machine. My wife had to strain about 12 cups of water through the machine to get a halfway decent cup of tea. The next morning when we got up to check out and we wanted to wash up, the hot water was cold as ice and even after a half an hour, it was lukewarm. We ended up taking a very quick wash up.Told the manager as we were checking out and her comment was because it was a third party booking, my Aunt, nothing could be done. Never mind we shared the cost with my Aunt, my wife and I shouldnt have that experienced. I have stayed at a different Marriott before and it was a more pleasant experience. Thats why its rated 1 star.

2022-04-05Craig, Glendon and Lee Ann were spectacular! They went well beyond the call of duty to help me locate my trade show boxes. Good customer service is so rare these days seeing their dedication in action was a breath of fresh air. Thank you so much. I’m telling everyone at the show how great this place is because of them.

2022-03-04Visited for a day and it was everything I imagined. A bit too far from the city and most public transport but that still takes nothing from this amazing hotel. The reception and almost every other staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very nice and cozy. The lobbies are clean. The guest waiting area is very cozy as well with free refreshments and access to the bar with charging ports. An overall great facility.
