DO NOT PASS THIS PLACE UP!!! Wow, I love street tacos and this place does a freaking awesome job of bringing them to the streets of New York City!!!! The place was hoppin, we waited outside but the line moved fast. You look at the wall make a selection and place your order. Next take your ticket down the line for them to fix up your food. We went with the carne asada, the pork and a chicken fried quesadilla. We got them prepared “con todo” with onion, cilantro, salsa and avocado. This was a quick and amazing meal. The other thing that stands out is… you stay standing there are no seats. But that is all good, because eating these tacos are a full contact sport. The chips and salsa were so good and nice and spicy. If you get a chance go, and enjoy some quality tacos!
You have to go. You literally have to. The tacos here were the best I have ever eaten in my entire life. I got a chicken and pork taco both with corn tortillas as well as their quesadilla especial with pork, a fried tortilla with tons of melted cheese. Everything tastes great, the environment is awesome, there is only “stand-up seating”, but it feels right when you’re there. Get down there and get some tacos!
Saw this place off some YouTube channels a few years ago and I knew that I had to try the food myself. Its phenomenal and once you taste it for yourself, youll start to see why.Of course when you see any line forming outside a restaurant, you know things are going to be good.Only downside is theres no sit down areas, only standup counters for eating and youll not have time to relax. Its come in, eat and go.Its a fast, to the point system in place here, but its worth the wait in line to try some of this delicious food.
Coming from a Texan, this is truly a legit taco joint. Juicy, simple, and divine. Just a squeeze of lime and wash it down with your favorite Mexican beverage.Cue only took a few minutes and they move fast. Standing room only. Great for a quick bite... because youre not gonna eat these tacos slow. This place would do well anywhere. Bravo! 👏👏👏
Los Tacos No. 1 is always on our list when we come to NYC. We usually go to the Chelsea Market location. The tacos are outstanding with high quality ingredients, prices are great and service is fast. Definitely a must visit for a reasonably priced, excellent lunch or dinner.
Came here for tacos before our Broadway show. Line wasnt too bad and we got our order in for tacos. However I forgot to order drinks and they told us to get back in line even though we got our tacos right away. Really? Way too over hyped for very avg service. Tacos were good but not the best. Pork was overcooked and rubbery. Chicken was good. Take your money elsewhere unless you want a rushed meal at a hyped restaurant.
Closest thing I’ve had to street tacos in Mexico. Love the tortilla, the meat, & the fact that you can top it the way you want it just like in Mexico. They also have horchata (you can drink horchata in December). Try not to put salsa in your receipt before your order is complete
Im originally from the Soutwest and I grew up around good mexican food. I would often travel to Mexicali and Tacos numero uno is comparable. Flavor is amazing and is authentic. It is more pricy than Mexicali but for new York its a steal for the portions they provide. Definitely took me down memory lane. If there is a line, dont be discouraged. Staff is efficient and it moves at a rapid pace. Would highly recommend to those who want an authentic experience. Tacos de carne asada and horchata was my order.
Los Tacos No.1 WILL NOT DISAPPOINT ! They call themselves “No.1” for a reason…. Because they are the BEST! These are by far the best tacos I’ve ever had in my LIFE. I’m not even exaggerating. I can’t even eat or enjoy true street tacos anywhere else without comparing them to Los Tacos No.1. I’ve been to every Los Tacos No.1 in the city and every location slaps, so bussin!!! 💯 They do not mess around!I don’t live in NYC anymore and this is one place that I miss every day! Los Tacos No.1 needs to come to Nashville! 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮
The complexity of simplicity is a delicious aphorism, especially here. They get everything just right, just often enough for the variety to keep us coming back just enough to keep the place churning. Fast enough that you know your hunger will be satiated quicker than a goose being fattened for foie gras. But, youre in a space thats cool enough to finish your conversation. The salsas are the fifth star earners. Theyre just brilliant. Choose frivolously. You can always come back and reload the pleasure.
Staying at the Marriott Marquis and looked up yummy places nearby. I knew I had to try Los Tacos No. 1 for a super casual delish meal. It didnt disappoint. We ordered one of each taco (flour tortillas) a chicken quesadilla, chips, salsa and guacamole. They were all superb! There is an organized line outside, but it moves quickly.
BEST tacos EVER! The meat is perfectly cooked and seasoned, the spicy level is just right (gives a kick but not overwhelming) and the added guac is 10/10. Quesadilla has that plus cheese! Love this place!! The mexican-style drinks and fast food style is great for a quick bite, if you can afford to wait in line. There are no chairs here.
Phenomenal flavors!!!I cook Mexican on the regular and Ive never accomplished flavors like i tasted here. When you enter, its at first a bit overwhelming because there are people everywhere and a lot of text on the walls. But if you get through that, the experience is great. You order on the right, menu is right above the cash registers (they ask you to choose between corn or wheat tortillas), get a ticket for your order and you immediately hand it to a cook on the left of the registers, who asks you con todo? (all dressed), prepares, and hands it to you. Then, you can load up your tacos with additional sauces on the far left. Also pick up a Horchata! I never had one of these and they taste great! The milkiness is a nice balance to the spiciness from the tacos.
Delicious tacos that taste authentically Mexican. There’s usually a long line during traditional lunch time/ dinner hours, so try to go in an off hour, in between lunch and dinner rush. No seating available, only counter space where you can eat your tacos while standing. They have Mexican soda (that use sugar rather than corn syrup), and other drinks like horchata.
The tacos are soooo good! Been to Mexico, and this is by far the best tacos I tasted, outside of Mexico. Authentic taste. Its a quick stand up table, eat and go concept.Remember to add the free salsa and the chilli yourself from the side counter. I miss the tacos already.
Yes! An authentic taco in nyc! The aroma upon entry was astounding! The small crowd of people gathered close to make their orders. After placing my order I quickly ran to a standing table top to enjoy this beautiful. The taco: filled with juicy well seasoned chicken chucks and packed with a flavorful punch! The cost was around $4.50 worth every penny!I’m Nyc and on a budget but want to eat something filling this is what I’ll recommend!
We heard about Los Tacos from a YT video and we wanted to give it a try. The line was about long and we were hesitant to go in - but an employee from Harry Potter (show across the street) told us that it was well worth it - so we gave it a try. There were four of us and we got two carne asada tacos, a chicken taco, a pork taco and two carne asada quesadillas. They were amazing! So good that we ordered more before we left! And...we came back for more the next night! Best taco Ive had in a long time - and I live in San Diego!!
We ordered the nopal and cane asada tacos, both of which were very flavorful! The cactus has such a unique, sour flavor and everything (especially the guac) was seasoned so well. Despite it being super busy and crowded, the service was still great and we did not have to wait long. That being said, the tacos are a bit pricey for what they are as theyre pretty small. Would still recommend any visitors give it a try though!
You have to go here! The tacos are amazing and my wife was in love with her tostada. The steak taco was so freakin good that I went back in line and ordered two more and I was already stuffed to the gills! Super fast service. Watch them with the shell to make sure you get what you ordered because I saw them mess up a couple of times. A busy place so accidents happen. They will remedy it immediately.
Had the grilled chicken, grilled steak and marinated pork quesadillas. In our opinion, the grilled steak was the absolute best quesadillas weve eaten so far - the meat was very tender, and all the additional ingredients like guacamole made the whole quesadillas extremely delicious.Their horchata beverage was also really good - wasnt too sweet. While the queue may be long, their service is really fast, and despite being at the back of the queue, I only waited for about 5 minutes. No seats, but you can stand up and eat at their standing tables.Would recommend coming here for anyone walking around Times Square!
Best tacos Ive tried in a looooong time. On the photo, carne asada tacos, the meat was to die for. Definetely would recommend this place for anyone. I also bought and horchata and my side of guacamole with chips, amazing. It doesnt matter if you have to eat on your feet. The food was very good. Price is very reasonable considering their next to Times Square.
The place is really a Mexican restaurant experience the taste of tacos y really good also the salsas and drinks are pretty close that you can fine in México. Its a nice place open and big there is a lot of people always and all time. In mexico is famous to go to tacos after a party like a munchies so could be a nice experience to try these tacos at night.
The food was amazing! The tacos are delicious and very well served. The salsas on the bar are quite spicy but worth it. The corn tortilla has a great flavor. The only thing is that the music was very loud. So if you enjoy eating tacos standing up with loud music this is your place.
I was told it was one of the best taco in the area. Went to try it out. I have the Especial quesadilla and was not satisfied. It does taste good but danm!! The especial quesadilla is pretty much a small fry patty for $8!! Very oily, not barely meat no guacamole. I also have the Jamaica juice (hibiscus juice) thats a fail. Pricey for my taste.Seriously you can get better for your money.
Best tacos I’ve had. Do not miss this place. I send all my friends that visit NYC here and they all love it. Mandatory stop on all my trips to the city. If you’re latinx don’t be afraid to order in spanish, the guys are super nice. Tip: ask for chile asado y cebollino on the side for extra spicy.
Best tacos Ever!!!! If you want to try some real authentic Mexican tacos, This is the place to come!!!! Best tacos in the USA, and I know that because I’m Mexican and so far, in all the places that I’m been, this is the best one!!!! Can you guys open one store in Kansas City?? 😜🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
The tacos are juicy and flavorful, but not quite life changing as the reviews and media around this place would lead you to believe. Ive had comparable tacos for half the price. Expect to spend a lot, I paid $49 for 6 tacos and two drinks.I commend the professionalism of the cooks for being able communicate and make 100s of tacos an hour despite the loud and crowded atmosphere.
Came here twice last month and absolutely loved it. Once with my husband and another time with my family. I live on the west coast so there’s spots like this everywhere, but this place had the best tacos and quesadillas. The meat was marinated so good for all the tacos. We also tried the fried quesadillas and they were amazing! This place lives up to the hype! Will definitely return on my next visit to NYC!
I’d like to say hands down these are the most authentic Mexican tacos there is in the city! The tortillas are even made on the spot, and THAT’s how you know they know what they’re doing. All their ingredients are fresh, salsas are spot on as well!I’d say the Adobada tacos are pretty close if not spot on on flavor and quality. When I feel home sick, I always come here.
By far one of the best tacos Ive ever tasted. The full experience was pretty unique from ordering to the efficiency of the folks getting the tacos made. They were fast but didnt skip a single ingredient.I got the steak and it was delicious. The toppings were on point as well.I would definitely come here again and again (like the many many people you will find in line waiting)
This place is FANTASTIC!! It lives up to the all the hype. Adobada (pork), carne asada (steak), pollo (chicken), and nopal (cactus) tacos are always fresh, tasty and filling. I dont think $5 per taco is cheap but absolutely worth it so I dont mind! Theres always someone cleaning the restaurant, the service is quick and the team is happy. Evey time we come to NYC we come here at least twice!
Good tacos! Chicken in moist and the flavors are there. $4 a taco is a little much and the quesadilla was basically a taco just opened face. Thought it would be different. But overall the place was very good and very fresh. You do feel a little rushed as you are ordering. You tell the cash register employee what you want then they give you a ticket and you move down the line and give it to the cook employee and you tell him what you want on it. But it’s always so busy you feel rushed.
Usually there is a long line to order but they are fast and you will not be in the line ore than 15 minutes. Their taco is good but not great. Definitely not the best taco Ive ever had but it was good.Taco shells are warm and fresh.Ordering might be confusing for the first time. There is no place to sit and you need to find a corner to have your tacos but its not a problem. All and all, it is worth trying but not as great as it seems.
A little pricey, but the hype is real.Really good tacos and you can get all of them made con todo, which means they come with onions, cilantro, salsa, and guac, which helps validate the higher price. They have a good selection of salsas on the side too. They seem to be less busy on Monday nights, which is surprising since theyre half a block from Times SQ.
EXCEPTIONAL!!!I can’t explain how pleasant was the food in that place. I went for 3 days to NY and I had to visit it twice.TACOS ARE DELIIIISSHHHH!!!My favorites were tacos de adobada 🤤🤤I can’t stop thinking of them. It’s necessary to try the Especial with adobada also is BEAUTIFUL!!Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I’m from California so it’s tough to provide critic for tacos but this place does serve decent, quick to eat tacos - tried cactus tacos and it’s pretty decent, very juicy. Their pork tacos is really good that pineapple added nice sweet touch to the charred pork. Quick place to be for snack while you’re out and about in Times Square!
Undoubtedly the best tacos Ive had in my life, and Ive been fortunate enough to be able to sample quite a few! My friends and I devoured our tacos so fast we barely managed to get photos, all in a matter of moments over the tiny standing counters they have with a window view out into the busy street. The staff are polite and funny folks, and seeing them cut from the rotating meat spit was awesome.Get your tacos fully loaded with onions, cilantro, salsa, and guacamole for the best result.Bonus: They have Mexican coke, which we all know tastes much better due to its cane sugar!
We looked at the reviews and decided to give it a try . Place was busy by the way . We waited 15 min in line , but well worth it . Tacos were flavorful, tasty , slightly spicy . We had chicken and steak , corn tortilla tacos and ofcourse couldn’t miss the delicious nachos with guacamole.Highly recommended
Tacos were surprisingly very tasty. They were well seasoned and hot. The whole place runs like an assembly line. Even though the line was out the door, it moved very fast. If you stay, you have to stand up to eat and make sure you have your vaccination card. I will definitely go back.
The best tacos anywhere. That’s all you need to know. I’d take these $5 tacos over a $600 Michelin star meal any day. It’s truly exceptional. If you really care, these are also the most greasy taco you are ever gonna find. You will literally hear your heart clog as you sink your teeth in. So, be warned.Corn vs flour tortilla? Well for me corn adobada is excellent, flour unit is exceptional.Lastly, the line is really long, but it moves fast. The wait is about 10 minutes per building, number outside. So that’s 20 minutes if the line is out to the next door. To me, I’d line up if it’s less than 2 hours😀. I haven’t had to do that, yet. 20 minutes was my longest wait.
KETO! Was able to enjoy these very flavorful tacos. The cheese shell was perfect. I was full off of 1. Both the steak and chicken were seasoned to perfection and all the workers were friendly and hard working. Seamless ordering and over clean establishment to be so busy in the heart of times square!! Will go back before I leave!
Okay, I heard about this place but wasn’t really keen as I was fearing a long wait, food might end being underwhelming etc but then I mustered the energy and walked for 35min only to realise that I found the BEST tacos place you can eat. Wow, the freshness of the ingredients, the perfect size of the portion, the flavours of the chicken/sauces/guacamole and that final touch of the lime made this moorish and delectable. In short it’s light delicious wholesome and good value. This is one place I will go again and again. Oh, dont forget the lovely “market place” atmosphere the place has. Enjoy!!!
The food is good and reasonably priced. I do feel that the tacos are a little small in size. The restaurant is simple in setup with only standing tables. There is no sit down area, so everyone finds a spot at the few standing tables to eat. And this place is popular and so there are lines to get in. However, the lines do move fast and orders are processed quickly.Very nice place to go for a quick & reasonable bite in the city! We have gone in the past too & will go again.
Delicious tacos!I enjoyed visiting this place. The tacos were good, spicy and tasty.Maybe I should have gone for the chicken version but Ill visit again this or another branch to try.Pricewise this is very reasonable.I like the decoration and the fast pace inside. Not too many good place near times quare so glad this is around.
We visited from the UK and stumbled across Los Tacos. We certainly didnt expect such incredibly tasty tacos. Honestly the best tasting tacos Ive ever had. Very very nice, 100% would recommend.I guess the only downsides is it looks a little run down, I wouldnt make it modern but just make it look a little nicer with a rustic feel. It also seemed very rushed but they were very very busy when we went and it seemed like organised chaos, rather impressive. Otherwise, amazing.
The BEST tacos Ive EVER had in the states! Native Mexican here, born in Nuevo Leon. This is 10000% the most authentic Ive ever had, right down to the aspect of standing while eating. Yes, the line is long, OBVIOUSLY! But they are extremely efficient. You HAVE to have these tacos!!
Dont be intimidated by the long lines snaking outside Los Tacos, it is a quick line and indicative of the places popularity and taste. The food is incredible and mimics traditional Mexican tacos. I recommend getting your tacos con todos (with everything) to get the full taste. Be warned, its loud and fast inside the small establishment, but great for a quick bite.
If you are to order only a single item on their menu, then it must be the Quesadilla Especial (add beef!) with everything (onions, cilantro, guac) in it!Imagine a freshly fried quesadilla thats crispy on the outside with melty cheese and all the other good stuff inside. MESSY! But definitely worth it. Youre welcome!!
Went at 11:30am and there was a minimal line. Pretty good for a popular spot near Times Square tbh. For food I got the chicken, steak, and cactus tacos all on corn. The cactus was unique and worth the try but I probably won’t get it again. The chicken one wasn’t that good. The steak was really good. I’m from Texas so the street taco bar is pretty high for me and I can say the steak one was up there in terms of taste. No complaints.
This place is a scam. 4.95 dollars for one taco?? I was confused when I saw him put in only one taco in so I thought the next was for me, nope it was for the next customer. 5 dollars for a taco is way too much, take your money someplace else instead of this overhyped location
We had heard a lot about Los Tacos No. 1 in New York. We were times square and decided to try the tacos. When we went there a queue was there but it was a moving queue. First we paid and collected the receipt. We got our chance in 5 minutes and we decided to go for corn and flour tacos. The tacos ordered were amazing and the chicken masala in the tacos was just amazing and delicious. One of the best tacos we ever had. Whenever you are in New York do try Los Tacos No.1.
I love this wonderful and beautiful place is so yummy 😋, my favorite place to eat the best tacos 🌮 in town, is very affordable and very delicious, staff is very nice and friendly the place is very clean and very nice, we really enjoy it my kids love Tacos Number 1 We always order the quesadillas carne asada with everything at least two each and the chips and salsa and wacamole plus the drinks 🥤 🤪🤪😋😋😋
One of the best things Ive eaten in a long time and rivals tacos I ate in Mexico city. So, so flavorful. The flour tortilla is perfection! I tried the chicken taco and the adobada taco, both con todo which includes onion, guacamole, salsa and cilantro. Both were great but the pork was extra special. Wish I lived near one so I could eat here regularly!
You will be ruined for life when you eat here and eat tacos at other spots. You will always compare those to thee. Its okay though! Its worth it! This spot actually hand makes the tortillas. These are FRESH. The line was long but went by in the blink of an eye. My taquero was FAST in putting together my tacos with every single thing I wanted and didnt want on them. If they had seating I would stay longer, order more and eat more but all the walking had my feet tired so we had to go. Im stopping by again before we leave town. On my next visit, Cinco de Asada de Harina only Guac (5 Steak Tacos on flour tortillas) with plenty of lime. The only thing that could have made this better was a side of frijoles de olla.
Line out the door, busy inside. This place was popping. The tacos were good, but definitely not the best I’ve ever had, which a lot of reviews said. Horchata was nice and light. Pricey for street tacos but it is NY. Tables are only for standing which sucks for people with disabilities in wheelchairs. My husband was able to use a table, but I had to use my hands as my table.
After a long day of shopping and visiting landmarks we stopped here as it was on my to do list whilst here! When I say this is the best taco/tostada I have ever had in my life I mean it! Do not walk past this and not go in. Even if the queue is long it is worth the wait!! Delicious Ill be going back there before I leave!!
Please go here! We love this tacos! best in NY! super fast service, great flavor. we had flour & corn tortillas tacos, we also tried the vampiros! tostada, cheese, meat & sauce!!! super loved it! They also had the green apple soda! fabulous! also, no seating there! stand up while you finish your tacos and go on w your day!
The tacos with everything on them are absolutely delicious. Had 1 of each of the chicken, pork and beef. Then had to buy 3 more. Ha! The horchata, Jamaica and Tamarind juices are also good. Not too sweet or anything like that. Kids had just the plain tacos and quesadillas with just the meat in it and enjoyed it as well. No pictures were taken because we were really hungry and the food was delicious! 😁
This place is a wonderful Mexican 🇲🇽 eatery! Los Tacos No.1 has a simple menu that includes cheap 🏷️ and delicious 🤤 tacos 🌮 and quesadillas! Definitely try the Horchata drink 🥤 and chips & guacamole 🥑 too! Service is super quick and efficient! Note that they dont have any seating 🪑 options, but do have many long counter, so you can eat standing up or grab your food to go. I wish I came here earlier!
Im from Texas where bomb street tacos are $1.25, but whew these are worth EVERY penny. Legendary tacos. Its always crowded in here but the line moves fast and people eat and go so you dont have to wait long for a place to stand and eat at. Sometimes you need to be aggressive and go straight from the cashier to handing the food side your ticket to make sure your stuff comes out ASAP.Try the fried tacos, theyre so messy but sooooo good.
DELICIOUS TACOS 😃 very fresh ! My boyfriend and I come here when we are in the city. Definitely recommend corn based carne asada taco ! For the first timers it can be a little confusing but once you place your order you move to the left side and give the cooks your order ticket, once it is ready they will hand you your order. You can take it to go or eat there. Don’t forget to grab some limes and other sauces as you move more down the left side.
Good tacos - hell yeahWill I repeat- yes probably every dayMy favorite pork taco place n NYCPork adoba tacos are amazing here. Nopal is also quite and good fresh. They have comforting vibe, there will always be a line but the service will be super fast. All sauces are kept in one side of the restaurant, do add them to get extra zing in your taco.
Standing room only you eat while you stand. They have little bars where you can place your plate and eat very good Mexican Fast-food. Dont let that fool you, this place puts chains like Taco Bell and Chipotle to shame. This is run by real Mexicans and the food is authentic. This could be a lunch or simply a quick snack while on the go. If you spend time in Times Square it would be a shame to pass it by.
I came here last time I went to NYC and it was so good that it was the first stop I made for food. The tacos remind me of my family’s homemade despite it being a chain. You have to get one of each and corn tortillas, flour tortillas just don’t compare. Prepare for a messy but delicious lunch as they’re street style not American. We got a carne asada, adobada and pollo asada. We ordered a nopale one as well as I love cactus but we never got one. They were delicious and I could eat them for every meal and be content. We also got a horchata which is essentially cinnamon rice water and it was as good as any other i’ve tried. Love this place and i’ll be sure i’m here next time. Also note it’s standing room only so don’t expect to have a sit down relaxing lunch, it’s worth the stand though!!
After walking past this restaurant twice in a day and seeing a line out the doors, I said myself have got to try this place. My wife and I came back for dinner and had an absolutely excellent meal. The staff is super friendly too.Its literally next to Time Square so you must go!We will absolutely be back when I am in NYC.
This place 100% lives up to the hype and these may have been the best tacos I’ve ever had!! This is definitely a no-frills joint…you either take your tacos to go or you stand and eat at counters (nowhere to sit). But it is worth it for these amazing tacos! I tried all 4 varieties and the asada was my favorite (nopal was my least favorite but I’d never had cactus before so I had to try it!). Horchata was also amazing. The line moved super quickly and it was impressive to see how fast they made the tacos! I would definitely return next time I’m in NYC.
Oh man, what is there to say about Los Tacos No. 1. This chain may be the king of my 4.7+>100 restaurant list because all of their restaurants meet the criteria. This is the second best taco (Carne Asada) that Ive had in the United States and trust me, as a southern California local I have done the research (it was difficult work!).When my wife and I took our most recent trip to New York City we made sure to visit our favorite cheap eats restaurant in the city, but this time we visited the location off of Time Square. As always were were blown away by the quality of the food and it was the only restaurant we visited twice (we seriously couldnt resist) on our trip. The tacos may seem a little pricey at $4+ but trust me if you like a good Carne Asada taco, you will not worry about the price after you try this taco. The Adobada is also good and is my wifes favorite, but for me the Carne Asada is all you need.Seriously, its that good!
Randomly doing this review and I only want to go to New York to try these tacos. Authenticity is big for me and any restaurant with the words “mex mex grill” I avoid like a plague. I’ve tried numerous tacos being Mexican and these are the best I’ve had in my life 😭 I can’t wait to go back and my siblings think the same as well, so I know it’s not just me. Pricey but I could care less about that and it’s NY , so yeah. Please make a spot in Atlanta!
Delicous, fresh, friendly and fast. Really happy I decided to stop here for a quick bite. Food is authentic and fresh. Ive tried all of the tacos and they are all delicous. After paying for your order, you bring your ticket to the food counter where they assemble your order. They give you an option of choosing a flour or corn taco. Also important is the toppings to consider, or get them all! Stnd up only but it works well! Definitely worth a trip!
Not bad! Extremely busy. You order at the register and get a ticket to hand to the cooks at the grill. We tried the Carne Asana (steak) and Pollo Asado (chicken) flour and corn tortillas as well as the bowl. They ran out out the Adobada(pork). The flour tortillas were better than the corn ones to us but to each their own. Tasty and neat experience.
Go straight to Los Mariscos, the seafood version of this place right next door in the market... Tacos No 1 is more about the experience and the hype than the actual tacos, I prefer Tacombi a million times over. Too long of a line, I really thought they were way better.
Best tacos I’ve ever had (other than my mother’s tacos) — and I’ve eaten many a good taco in my life. The flavors of the tacos are immaculate. Whoever made the recipes for the tacos is an absolute genius. I’m salivating just thinking about the tacos.I ordered a carne asada taco and an adobada taco. Both were incredible, but I preferred the adobada over the carne asada because the pork was juicer than the steak (though the steak was still very juicy and flavorful!).I also really liked the vibe of the place. The employees were so kind and efficient. My only complaint is that each taco is like $5, so I only eat here before/after watching a Broadway show, but for the flavor, it’s honestly worth buying a few every once in a while.
I visited this location during my stay in NYC and hands down THE MOST DELICIOUS tacos in NY. The fact that they make the tortillas fresh as you order your tacos is a complete PLUS. I had asada, adobada and a quesadilla. I have had plenty of tacos in my life to compare to, and THESE are worthy of a review and high recommendation!!
Had a line out the door and down the sidewalk, but completely worth the wait. The tacos are street style tacos, so I would say the average person could eat 3, maybe 4 if youre super hungry. Some ordered 2 tacos and a side of chips & salsa. We each ordered one carne asada and one Adobada (marinated pork). We loved the carne asada the best so we each got one more carne asada. Soooooo good. Highly recommend.
Fresh, flavourful and reasonably priced considering its in midtown Manhattan. The quesedilla was small though and felt more like an appetizer. Even still, the experience wasnt bad and the place was clean, service was really nice too. I wouldnt substitute this place over Dos Toros, Moes or Chipotle but it could be a nice change up once and a while.
Ive heard a lot about this place and finally got to try it. I got one of each flavor of tacos (Adobada, Carne Asada, & Pollo Asado) except Cactus, which I prob should had gotten since I heard its pretty good too. At this place, you order & pay, then keep your ticket to hand it to the guy you are assigned to when hes ready. There are multiple guys in a row taking care of only their own few customers orders at a time. There were so many ppl at the restaurant from the Pride Parade, but this ordering method was so efficient! I thought I would wait at least 30 to 45min from seeing the line, but I got my food in 10-15mins!In terms of the food. Love all the tacos. Got my hands all messy, but that shows how flavorful & juicy they were. Took my first bite of the Adobada, and I was like wow I see what all the rave was about. So good! One of those so good moment that I forgot to take pix. Sorry. Go & see them yourselves! :)
Seemed super traditional which was great. My friend and I were walking to a different Mexican restaurant and we got a great rec from who I assume was a regular here. He recommended the chicken quesadilla which is what I got.He was 1000% correct, it was the best quesadilla I’ve had outside of CDMX. Wish I lived in NYC so I could come back. The decor was cute too and there aren’t too many tables which I liked a lot.
Another amazing Google maps find. Extremely delicious and authentic Mexican tacos. Each made to order at the counter that in itself is a show in it self of efficiency. I highly suggest walking for how many blocks to get here. I had the chicken, beef and pork. Just amazing.
Awesome place to go for a quick bite before a show. There was a long line outside, so definitely leave enough time. Once you have your food, you eat standing up at counters (no tables). Even though it was crowded, we didnt have any trouble finding a place to stand with our group of six. Enjoyed the carne asada taco and the pork taco the best.
Kept walking by, noticing an extremely long line. Finally gave in and tried it out. Lets just say, I am Angelino gal, raised on authentic Mexican food and this place doesnt disappoint. Service was extremely friendly, really wanted to shout out a grito to the music playing in the background but decided not to.
Tasty food but they came in really tiny portions so we ended up having to order more.Actually making an order was difficult as the staff were impersonal and didn’t make any eye contact with you so it was hard to know if they were speaking to you or to themselves. It was also quite loud and busy so we had to keep asking the guy to repeat himself, making it even harder to communicate and finally became quite frustrating as he didn’t make any effort to speak up or gesture what he was talking about. An easier system might be to have a numbered ticket system (like Mac Donald’s) instead of relaying your whole order to each member of staff along the food counter.Good quesadillas but the rest was ‘meh’..
Best tacos ever! This is a must must go if youre in NYC. Especially if youre on the go, it wont take long for you to get your order of delicious tacos. Has an authentic Mexican and New Yorker vibes right when you walk in. The Mexican drinks (aguas) are so good also! Tried many authentic tacos and this is the best especially with that guac on top! Fast and delicious! But if youre trying to find a food place to sit and relax you probably dont want to go here. Its a get food and go type of place.
Yum! Just what I needed. There is usually a long line, but we beat that line by a couple of minutes. One time the line was out the door and it only took 5 minutes to get my tacos. The service is great and quick. The chicken tacos are my favorite. I always come here when I am in the area and looking for some good food.

2022-05-25I LOVE this place! It is so tasty and just a fun atmosphere to be in.The line here is often long, and twice I tried to grab a taco before a show and didnt give myself enough time. But the second time was before I saw Six, which is an 80min show with no intermission, so I was able to make it in after the show before they closed at 10pm :)Glad this New York trip didnt have to end without eating one of the best tacos Ive ever had.

2022-05-05Get your tacos fully loaded with onions, cilantro, salsa, and guacamole for the best result.Bonus: They have Mexican coke, which we all know tastes much better due to its cane sugarUndoubtedly the best tacos Ive had in my life, and Ive been fortunate enough to be able to sample quite a few! My friends and I devoured our tacos so fast we barely managed to get photos, all in a matter of moments over the tiny standing counters they have with a window view out into the busy street. The staff are polite and funny folks, and seeing them cut from the rotating meat spit was awesome.

2022-06-02Have to wait a bit to order, line goes quick. No restrooms inside. One taco is obviously wont be enough to be satisfied. Prices are expensive for a very small plate. And last, we got poisoned after the meal, had to throw it up to come round. I can understand the atmosphere is about to love to eat while standing but it just didnt go well with us.

2022-04-09Amazing food! The meat : adobada was the best! Had in a taco and on the special! The pick up counter can be confusing for a new comer. Tortillas are FRESH! I was they had chairs or stools , and a restroom. That would make it a 5…. Specially in such a busy tourist area. A “moment of rest” would be nice

2022-05-16Their tacos and spicy sauce are very good. Just remember they may not hear you well and give you a wrong one because too many people in the restaurant. This is what happened to us. They didnt make it new one for us since they are very busy. So once you receive the receipt, just to make sure the order is correct. For me, among chicken, beef, and pork, the pork was better.

2022-06-17The horchata is pretty good. Prices for tacos are relatively okay. There was quite a line around dinner time though, but it moves fast. The tacos are filling and we really enjoyed the corn tortillas much more than the flour one.

2022-05-24You enter through the door and it takes you on a journey to Mexico. You order at the cashier and then give the receipt to the cook. A lady is making fresh tortillas and Man U can taste the freshness. I got chicken, carne, pork tacos in corn and carne quesadillas in flour. And boy they were ridiculous, ridiculously good. These compared very much to the tacos I ate in Mexico. Load it up everything when u tell the cook, the green n red salsa have a good kick so top it cautiously if u can’t handle spice. The carne is seasoned to perfection, pork is very flavorful and chicken is a lil smoky. A perfect meal, exploding in flavor n well priced. If u r crazy about tacos like me, don’t think, just go here and u ll not be disappointed. 🇲🇽🌮🌶
