My family and I have been members here for a few months now and have had nothing but positive experiences each visit. All the staff are all extremely friendly, warm and super helpful. Even the other members are super friendly and welcoming. It really feels like youve become part of the family from the first visit.
I was a member for 3 months at $99.00. I never learned anything. I worked cardio equipment which is great state of the art but the help there? Non-informative, snobby, and not willing to help except for a nice gentleman named Ken. If it wasnt for Ken, I would have never learned anything from my workouts. After my membership was over, I got a bill for $258.00 for the next 3 months. Are they insane? I think just because they are renovating the place, I should pay for it?I left and went to Planet Fitness. It took some getting used to but its worth the price
I have been at the JCC almost 17 years, my grandkids love it, it just get better and better, It has the state of the art workout machines, and the great customer service, it has something for every age and the birthday parties are outstanding, the staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. I have developed a lasting bond with some of the members and staff.
I took a class on self-defense and how to remove a gun from an attackers hand. It was truly one of the best classes! Along with the self defense class, I took a class on Russian K-Bell workouts and it was great. One of the best gyms in the world and I have been to a lot of gyms.
The JCC is the best bargain for taking fitness classes, yoga, swimming in 3 state-of-the-art pools, a nice track, Pre-Cor fitness machines, an abundance of treadmills and stair steppers, stationery bikes, weight rooms, a big gymnasium with basketball & pickleball, plus racquetball courts. Check out Boulder Coffee & snack shop offering healthy foods and delicious smoothies, and it is the #1 diverse and friendliest fitness center in Rochester! There is Silver Sneakers at age 65+ offered and your health insurance can help make it affordable. Everyone belongs here! As of October 1st, 2019 there is J My Way offering new rates that are still affordable! JCC Centerstage & TYKES kids theater is the best theater in Rochester. The Jewish Film Festival & Jewish Book Festival is very popular & educational. There is a few tables for mah jongg players & people can play piano in the front lobby. Check out the JCC to meet all your fitness and social needs! Nothing compares to the JCC!
It is with sincere pleasure I endorse JCC of Rochester, NY as THE best lo cation and staff service. I am a happier person since I actively participate in courses such as NIA and yoga. The pool is next!Thank you all for making this possible; I am writing this at the Memorial place in the middle of JCC!
I think it was unwise to not cancel the January 20 performance of Courderoy. This play is for preschoolers. The weather was projected to have a -20 degree wind chill. It is unrealistic to take small children out on a day with such poor weather. Every recommendation on the news said to only drive if completely necessary.

2018-08-12Amazing facilities! We went to a kid birthday party and the staff was great. BIG heated family pools, toddler pool area, outdoor splash area, family changing rooms, pool noodles, balls, flippers, water tables, and a separate pool for diving and laps, amazing! The only thing I didnt like was the gym had many under inflated basketballs with cracks and splits that didnt bounce well. But a very small thing compared to everything else.

2022-05-15Loving community center. Lots of great programs for elders. Pool and exercise room are rarely crazy busy.

2021-11-19Not a good pool if you are hoping to use it for lap training. A few months after I was told they limited lap lanes to a maximum of 2 people per lane, they called to say they were allowing 3 +. Impossible to get a quality swim in that case.

2020-04-23During this pandemic, Im writing reviews for the businesses that have been essential to our family lately. Before the lock down, this was the go-to place for my family on the weekends. They have a huge family pool, an outdoor spray park pool, and an Olympic lap pool, a two-story gym with top of the line equipment to meet every need, lots of play areas for children, fun classes, a cafe, a theater and much, much more. Everyone of all faith and walks of life are welcome there and it is just a great place to go overall. Definitely check them out once they re-open!

2019-10-20GREAT place!!! Update: we went for swim lessons and it was magical!!! The instructors here and above and beyond the other places we tried. My little one had an amazing experience!!! And a heated pool with zero entry made a big difference!!

2017-01-23New pool is the best thing ever happened in Rochester! Group exercise room (aka dance studio) is very small, classes fill up so quickly. Yoga rooms have no mirrors so you cannot check your posture. Yoga teachers are great. Cafe is nice but pricey. Membership is way too expensive.

2016-09-14New Fitness Center is awesome.New pool looks good for small children but not deep enough for water classesMembers have to pay extra fee for Advanced Hydro rider class . Very upsetting . Membership is high enough to begin with.

2018-05-05This gym is very nice. There is a large area that has a large variety of cardio equipment, and a whole other area with resustance training equipment. If youre interested in TRX, they have a lot of equipment available for that as well. Group fitness classes that are free for members are varied--from zumba to kettle bell to senior-specific classes--and are taught with a great deal of expertise. Beyond that, this place feels like a true community. Sometimes it seems people end up talking there more than working out :p
