Good for general home improvement items. They carry a good selection of tools. Lumber, sheet goods, and mill work could be better. Great people and they try to help. I find their website difficult to search and find stuff. So much so I have gone to other sites at times.I would very much like if they carried more hand planes etc. Also I would very much like it if they carried cherry.
Went to store #2538 in Camillus on 7/5/21 at 5:30 and had a horrific experience with the manager at the front counter. He was rude, was speaking over me and my wife, told us we did not know how to do simple math. I would give his name but he stormed off before I could read his name tag. Middle aged balding man. My wife said she was literally insulted by this waste of space. We purchased a refrigerator a few days prior and went in to get refunded the price difference. We tried to handle it over the phone for them to tell us we needed to go into the store. Waited in line with no one ahead of us for 8 min to have the person at the counter refer us to the manager. This should be a very simple transaction handled in the worst possible way. I will be placing a formal complaint at the store as well. Went back to the store the next day and spoke to someone with a brain, 10 min later was refunded the correct amount.
We paid for a deck over 11 months ago. The project has still not been completed and nobody at the store will return our calls, our installers calls, and they will not respond to messages from Lowes corporate. We have a half completed deck with no railings (and a 3 year old who could easy fall) so a major safety risk. Terrible customer service. Absolutely would not recommend this branch of Lowes.
Picked up fifty cases of LVP flooring. I was concerned about loading. Fortunately the staff was extremely helpful for the entire purchase from shelf to cart and cart to truck. The manager should feel extremely happy and proud of the representation these individuals displayed.
HORRIBLE! Stopped into get Drillbits for my husband, the associates were all hiding somewhere. Cashier tried several times to get an associate working in that area to help me. When I finally DID find what I was looking for (after I waited for 10 minutes) ,the cashier was rude and rushed through the order. Spoke with a manager who couldve cared less. Just rolled his eyes at my complaint. After all that frustration, I AM NEVER stepping foot in there from now on. Its Home Depot instead!!!
Cant give less than a star or I would . Was driving by Lowes on my way to Home Depot. Havent set foot at Lowes in over a year. Went there to get a fridge when I opened the door to see how the shelves were set. some special ed idiot flew up and slammed the door on my hand. Yelled at me for touching the fridge and told me I should leave. So went to the orange store , they were more than glad to sell me a fridge . And since then I bought all the lumber to replace the porch, oh and a dryer . from Home Depot . Only shop there. Hope Lowes goes bankrupt.
I had the best experience today at Lowes. The Mgr. Tim and Matt the outdoor loader were outstanding. I needed help with my fireplace and Tim was waiting for me near cash register. No matter what you need they were right there to help. When I set it up will send a pic to show you all. Thank you Tim and Matt. They moved everything in my car to make it fit.
You know its bad when you see more associates than customers. Shouldnt have to wait 45 minutes for something I ordered to be brought from the back of the store when theres literally 12 people working in the same department all huddled up talking in a group, or be literally guilted because I didnt want to open a credit card. Home Depot has more business and happier employees so it just shows they know what theyre doing.
Bought a lawn mower signed up for free delivery. First available delivery was over 2 weeks out got to the date and they never called to tell me it was pushed back another week. Next week they canceled the order cause they didnt have any left. Spent 2 hours on phone with corporate who did nothing. Over the last month Ive spent more than 5 hours on this lawn mower. Last night walked into home Depot and bought exact same mower for the exact same price and took it home. I will now be doing all of my shopping at Home Depot from now on.
We were looking for plants, pots, etc and were pretty pleased at what we found. Not my go to for actual construction work but great for decor and finish work elements. Redoing the bathroom and found a bathtub and vanity I like for it. Lumber selection is more limited, tile is hit or miss.
I was great to go to a place that was actually knowledgeable about their products. Unfortunately I don’t think the competition is as well trained as Lowe’s. Customer service was better then competitors and Tim took he’s time explain everything to me, did talk down to me like I experience in the other place. Thank you so much and he signed me up for the pro loyalty club. Thank you so much very being so welcoming specially after have such a bad experience in other places :)
The store is clean and the staff appears professional. Unfortunately, they are not. Stood in front of the carpets for 20 minutes waiting for help, walked down the aisle where two associates were talking. As I approached, they split, turned away, and walked quickly in opposite directions. Went again today, needed help moving plywood. They were talking, on phones and generally did not care to help. Walked out and went to the other local box store where they provided help and fast service. They now have my business, so long Lowes.
My husband and I have always shopped here until today where we were looking for help in the windows blinds department and had a terrible experience with Jennifer. She was sent to the isle to help us and her greeting to us was what do you want ...with a terrible attitude. Our immediate response was Never mind we dont want to bother you.....and walked out of the store. She shouldnt be working in retail if she doesnt know how to provide good customer service! Will not be coming back to the store. Wed rather drive the extra 10 minutes to the next lowes.
Worst costomer service I have ever experienced. Kicked me out of the store because I got upset when they told me one thing over the phone and then another when I arrived. Dont ever buy any tools from this place unless you plan on getting screwed. I had purchased a 10 tool 20 volt Dewalt tool kit. 4 out of the 10 broke. They refuse to replace.
The associates who work there were very helpful. They picked up the drainage stones and put them in my vehicle for me with a smile and great attitude. I couldnt ask for more.I just spoke with my friend from Tennessee who purchased flowers and mulch from her Lowes and was also very pleased.
Clean, well stocked store, but seriously lacking in employees and some that are there tend to walk away when help is needed (or try to find someone else and disappear). This may be one of the reasons the store is a ghost town most of the time. Although I prefer Lowes for the selection, I always get quicker service at Home Depot (less than a mile away). Not sure how the store has lasted this long with so little customers and poor customer service.
I dont plan on going again. Last few times I have been there, have dealt with listening to workers there swearing and complaining on the salesfloor in front of customers. Today I was trying to purchase a few items with cash and had the cashier tap on a sign at the register ( not actually speak to me, just tap) letting me know it had to be exact change. Really??Dont give me some lame coin shortage excuse. They lost a sale and Ill be giving Home Depot my business.
I went in this last weekend to look for window blinds. I waited around for 10 minutes and didn’t see a single employee. The home decor desk was empty. I finally had to go to the customer service desk to call for assistance. The woman who came to assist me was incredibly rude and there was so much passive aggressive attitude coming from her voice as if I was inconveniencing her day by needing assistance. I promptly left and took my business to Home Depot.
The truth is they are cleaner and perhaps even more knowledgeable than Home Depot but they simply dont deliver on price. Home Depot also honors military and veterans more noticeably which is a big deal to me. Home Depot is also more contractor friendly in my opinion as well.
This store is always clean, well stocked and most importantly the staff is friendly, courteous & always helpful (without being pushy). Top notch, in a word! I almost enjoy shopping here and I do NOT like to shop, especially in large megastores. Lowes in Camillus rocks!
Spent $700 on a new washer, salesman was pushy and overbearing about the extended service plan. To the point of insinuating that washers are prone to failure and that Id be out of luck when it breaks. Delivery guys were super nice, but they have nothing to do with the store. Im glad I got a good price, but sorry I didnt buy it online, dealing with red vests isnt something I enjoy.
Ordered a Larson storm door with roll away screen on Memorial Day. Because their installers are supposedly so busy, it was not scheduled to be put on until July 1st. No problem, I thought, as it wasnt really a rush to have it.This is where the problems really started. After spending almost 3 hrs installing the door, there was an obvious defect as the middle piece was crooked by about 1/2 inch. Installer claims he didnt notice, and says it wont be an issue to get a new door to replace it. He would make the report and we would hear back shortly. A week goes by, and no one calls. After a month of calls and visits to the store, no resolution and lots of broken promises. Finally, out of patience, I go to Valu Home Center on Thurs 8/1, and order the exact same door. Three days later their installers arrive and the defective door is removed and in 30 minutes the new door (no defects) is expertly installed. If only I knew!! Took the Lowes door back myself for a full refund.Yesterday, I get a call from the Lowes contractor to schedule an appointment to replace the door! Almost fell to the ground laughing! Seriously. Never again, Lowes.
I called the Syracuse store earlier today. I wanted to know if you could use a credit line the same day you apply. They told me the system was down. I live in Fayetteville and choose to go to Camillus instead. I had a miter saw in mind that I wanted to check out. I didnt make it five steps in the Pro Entrance before being greeted by Cassidi. I was thrown off by a warm and friendly greeting. For all the times Ive been in the Syracuse store. I barely get a hello. I see these people on a regular basis. Cassidi was confident, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I found the saw I wanted and went back to cash out at the Pro desk. Overall an enjoyable experience. Youre lucky to have a customer service representative such as Cassidi.
The delivery service is horrible. My grandmother ordered 18 bags of rocks that was suppose to be delivered tuesday and was told it was on the truck. She called because it was never delivered and they did not give her a reason why, but was promised it would be delivered thurday morning before 9. It was not delivered so she called again and asked to speak to the manager and they put her on the phone with the delivery supervisor. She was then told he didnt know where the truck was and then got hung up on.
Lowes has everything I need for my projects. Even a metal sewer vent cap which has an adjustable strap to fit perfectly in the vent pipe. These are very difficult to find. Friendly, helpful staff with outstanding knowledge and helpful advice & suggestions. My favorite place.
Yesterday 7/21, I purchased a 22 horse Husqvarna riding lawn mower. I truly just want everyone to know that Lowes in Camillus went above and beyond! The best customer service Ive ever received anywhere! First a manager Germaine honored the 4th of July sale price! The two girls that were working customer service Tuesday afternoon, just amazing! Im having heart surgery next Tuesday, a pre-surgery procedure Thursday. Well to my surprise instead of delivering it Thursday afternoon, it arrived at 9:00 Wednesday morning! My new mower is now in my garage! They truly went above and beyond!I am so thoroughly impressed and feel so blessed! I just cant say enough! Even though I have two local Lowes a little closer to my house! Lowes in Camillus will continue to get all of my business, even if its only for a package of light bulbs!I truly hope the employees know just how much what they did means to me! I am writing to let you know about the great service that our family experienced at Lowes of Camillus, NY Store # 2538.Our daughter lives in Syracuse, New York and our home is in Hilton, NY. The distance between us is about 90 miles. It has been very hot in our region of New York state this summer and our daughter lives in an apartment that is not air conditioned. She recently was injured and the heat was complicating her recovery by making her uncomfortable. Her friend went to this Lowes location on Sunday evening, July 31, 2016 to purchase an air conditioner at our request. The store had a unit that would work for her needs. Since we werent able to be here in person to purchase the air conditioner the store manager was very helpful by allowing us to purchase the air conditioner by phone and to allow our daughters friend to deliver it to our daughter. We really appreciated the managers efforts in helping our family since we live far away from each other. It was very rewarding to know that Lowes has such caring people that are willing to help us out.Thank you very much for such excellent service.
Tried to pay my bill yesterday and the guy at the register would not accept my check unless I wrote my phone number on it. I told him it was not legal in New York State to require that of any person; he called a manager named Ashley who told him I had to write my phone number on the check. I walked out without leaving my check. I have consistently paid my bill at that store for the last 4 years and have never been forced to give my phone number. Lowes has all my information on my credit application. There is too much invasion into personal privacy. Unacceptable.
Tried to get price for a fence around my pool not one person in store was able to help . Went in multiple times and every time they would send me to a different desk. Completely in un organized and no one knows anything... Walked into Home Depot and they got me a price in 20 minutes
I shopped today at the Camillus Lowe’s and I am satisfied with staff service and products purchased. My complaint is with the failure of the store to enforce the wearing of masks by other patrons. There were several customers without masks and many more with them draped around their necks leaving nose and mouth uncovered.I observed checkout staff engage a customer without a mask within less than a foot of his face. Your auburn store revealed a Covid case today, how many more do you want before you enforce your own policies.
Zach was very helpful. I could not reach the top of the trash can I wanted to buy and Zach got a ladder and retrieved it for me. Then, he walked me to the hose (for a dehumidifier) , did not know for sure if it would fit my dehumidifier, so he had me wait while he inquired only to confirm we had the correct item I was searching for. Now that may seem minor to you but yesterday I found out I need a double knee replacement. So, I say that to make you understand that his actions enssured I got what I came for and you made a sale. GREAT JOB HIRING ZACH!!!!
There is always great service. Even if I dont find what I am looking for Im always glad I stopped by because their customer service is excellent. They are there to answer your questions and they are always available to help their customers whether you buy something or not.
This is the worst hardware store ever. Zero staff in the store to help. You can walk around for hours and never see an employee. I think they all hide. No answer at customer service desk. They hang up when they do answer. Save yourself the hastle and go to Home Depot.
I stood in the window aisle for maybe 20 minutes discussing items with my wife and looking at different windows. Not a single employee was around, nobody asked for help and in fact the first employee I encountered was the cashier when I left.Thank you for the lack of help lowes. Hire some more people.
The mens bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. They were meant for anorexic Asian men no taller than 3 feet. Seriously, Im six feet tall and I have a hard time turning around in one of their stalls. The toilet paper is mounted so low to the ground that you would think they were expecting a bunch of munchkins to use their facilities.How about someone on site to repair what they sell? If your chainsaw that you buy there goes bad or needs adjustment you are out of luck.I would like to see them sell more American made stuff and not worry about profit margins for rich investors.The people that work there have been some of the most helpful people that Ive run into. Very helpful and professional people that work here.
We ordered trifold blinds and had a wonderful experience working with Jennifer. We are clueless and there is apparently alot more choices than we realized but Jennifer made it a really easy process and made excellent suggestions. I highly recommend requesting Jennifer if you go to Lowes for blinds.
Someone I am very close to who is an essential worker is being discriminated against simply for their gender identity. Employees at work make remarks and misgender/deadname them to their face. This is unacceptable behavior, period. But during a pandemic where they are deemed essential? Simply childish. If they want any respect, they had better act like adults and just learn to coexist with transgender essential employees.
Lowes sells many outdoor goods and plants trees paint any of your hardware needs. they also have a very large variety of refrigerator stoves and freezers along with lawn furniture, and at the holidays they have excellent outdoor Christmas statues Christmas lights Halloween in Easter
Ordered a washer online, called the next day to confirm it was there and ready to pick up, told the the man on the phone that I was on my way to pick it up. got there waited 20mins for them to bring it out from the back. then when someone finally comes up to the service desk with a washer its the wrong one. now I wait again, they take wrong one back. and finally come out with correct one.
Everytime I go to LOWES, I get lost. Is this due my wanting to do so much. The do it myself HOME IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS are very much present... Where do I begin, what tools do I need, what materials do I need? With this much spinning around in my mind it is easy to get lost in LOWES HOME IMPROVEMENT STORE. The LOWES Associates provide all the best assistance. If the LOWES Associates were not there, I will be there lost in the aisles.
I have been calling for over 45 min to talk to someone in lumber lady in customer service was very nice trying to help me get connected with the lumber department then rang and got busy signal so I called back still no answer 3 more times then some guy answered so I said I’m trying to talk to someone in lumber for 40 minutes now so he tells me he don’t know what to tell me wow so unprofessional guess my business doesn’t matter
Managers are incompetent.i had an e gift card and they could not figure out how to enter it.when I turned around and ordered it online, i realised that they had not even added tax to the total(they had not told the register to move on to the payment),they were trying to add my gift card as an UPC and not a payment optionTwo managers tried to do this and neither seemed to want to try to solve this.

2022-05-17Needed spark plugs, air filter and oil for our lawn mower. They only had spark plugs. Very young person working the area tried to be helpful but obvious he was new. Give him credit for trying and politeness.

2022-05-27Sales Associates are always helpful, but the one who has been helping us the most for these last 2 years Ian, he is so very knowledgeable and always helps us with whatever project we have going on, he never tries to have us over buy and figures out exactly what we need, we assumed he was a Department Manager do to his knowledge, and always going above and beyond, even staying over to help us on a occasion or to. We recently found out he is an Associate but he gives of himself and is so much more knowledgeable than most Associates not just at Lowes but in other stores as well. Too bad Lowes has not given this young man the job he deserves, we recently went to Lowes on a day he was off, his collegue Dwayne? was very pleasant and helpful, the Associate Daniel? At the return desk also was very helpful. All in all the Camillus Lowes is a great store with great staff.

2022-05-03I live half way between Lowes in Auburn, NY and Camillus, NY. I am a handicapped senior. Every time I visit the Camillus, NY location, the electric senior scooter scooter shopping cart is out of order. This is the case for at least the last 6 months, and probably longer. In both locations the Home Depot is not far away, and they always have ample numbers of the senior scooters just waiting for a customer. I prefer Lowes in general, but for this reason HD gets the lions share of my business.

2022-03-25I was at Lowes in Camillus today and spoke to about 7 associates in total, 6 of which knew almost nothing and kept running me in circles. I knew more about the products then the associates and I felt that I was treated poorly because I am female and the associates were male... except for the one clerk who actually helped me.I went to Lowes because I was fed up with Home Depot but now this experience is going to make me not want to go back to Lowes.

2022-01-07We bought our Christmas tree there this year. The staff was very nice. It was a good tree at a fair price. I wouldve been quite satisfied with my experience, but the couldnt drill a hole in our tree for the tree stand. We dont have a drill, the guy says. Im at a Lowes, one of the biggest hardware chains in the country, maybe the world I dunno, and no on can give the guy running the Christmas tree concession a got-danged drill? This seems to be an almost impossible oversight. Get it together, Lowes Home Improvement Center.

2018-08-11Lowes will surprise you with good deals and great service from their staff. My wife and I found a grill on sale and saved a ton of money. We couldnt be happier with our purchase. The staff even helped load it in our car.

2021-12-22I pick up work supplies everyday and staff are very helpful. I am an older man and was offered help by store employee to help me load lumber on carts. Restrooms are in the front so thats convenient.

2022-04-10Mens and ladies room really needed some attention. Toilet paper and hand towels in stall were empty. Noone on the floor to assist us. Very dissatisfied with our experience.
