Lowes Home Improvement in other cities:
Ive always visited Lowes stores and this happened to be my first time at the norwich location. We walked around for about 20 minutes or so before we found what we were looking for,, and none of the employees stopped to ask us if we needed help finding anything. Once we found what we came for, we headed up to the front to purchase our items, and a very nice older employee, stopped to make sure we found everything we needed and asked how we were doing today. We had a short conversation about the stores layout and a couple other things. He was very helpful and a kind and caring employee. We were pleased with the overall experience of the store.
At the one year anniversary of approaching lowes for failed paint on kitchen install which was 6 months old at the time. The last 3 months we have had radio silence despite having all of the parts (finally for repair). Jay Zech told me via email he has washed his hands of us and Henry Wolfe the manager will not respond to emails to make a time to meet in person. Not happy with the lack of honesty and lack of competence. Avoid for any installs. What a hot mess - one hand does not know what the other is doing.
The greatest thing I have to say about this store is that they still support veterans. Thats a big plus. However I would recommend that the employees get more training on where items are located in the store. The last three times we went there to get building materials, the employees sent us in the wrong direction or had no idea. We ended up finding it ourselves.
I purchased a washer online to be delivered and for my old washer to be taken away. The delivery men, not lowes employees immediately began telling me I had a washer and dryer on the truck. I explained to them numerous times that it wasnt mine, I only ordered the washer. I finally had to call the store to get them to not drop the dryer off at my house. Once inside the guy couldnt get the old hose off. I told him Id get it and I did. When I turned around they were gone. Multiple calls to lowes later throughout the day were not productive at all.
This place is horrible, they barely carry anything worth buying. It is a stripped down version of Lowes. There is plenty of staff, yet getting help is near impossible. They all say its not my department, I will send someone to help you and you stand around until you find another useless employee. Even what they do stock is low quality, looked at hanging baskets and other plants and they were all close to dying. Go to a bigger city with a better store.
I dont frequent home improvement stores, so I have little basis for comparison. However, I was amazed at what a good experience this was. Because of the nature of our visit, we had extensive interaction with the manager, Chris. He was polite, knowledgeable, helpful, and spent enough time with us to make an outstanding impression. Other staff, likewise, were fantastic. I will definitely return whenever I have home improvement needs.
Cannot express how well we were treated by Manager Chris and the rest of the employees at the Norwich, NY Lowes!! We had purchased a defective pellet stove and it was returned and replaced with another with such grace and kindness and we truly appreciate it!! Recommend going there for all your home project/improvement/building/or whatever it is they have because the back their products 100%!!!! Would’ve given them 10 Stars if had been available!!! Thanks again Manager Chris & Staff!! Y’all were The Best!!!!
I have noticed the employees have been much more attentive to helping customers and bringing them to the item they need and have seemed to go above and beyond to make sure your shopping experience is exceptional.Especially the man in the wheel chair. He is very kind and always shows you exactly what you need and will even go get an item while you shop for another. Very impressed.Thank you for fixing the once horrible shopping experience to much more pleasant one.
Not my best Lowes trip. Customer service was great once I found someone.Usually employees are asking if you need help within minutes of walking in the door. Online inventory showed several dozen of what I needed in stock but they were out of it. Apparently this is an ongoing issue so call and check before you leave home. I also couldnt even squeeze my shopping cart down the aisle it had carts of what must have been orders filling the entire aisle from end to end.
Trucker directions: 88 north from Binghamton take exit 15. Make right off exit. Go to traffic light and make a left( can be tight if busy) try to get in left lane asap cause the right lane ends. Go about a mile and lowes is on the left. Eazy peazy. Please hit the thumbs up button if these directions helped ya!
Picked up a shower here. Had to wait like 20 minutes for someone to go get it for me from the back and they were already helping other customers but once they finally got someone they were really nice and accommodating. Brought it out to my truck and helped me load it.
I am very disappointed in Lowes they used to be veteran friendly but that has sadly changed my husband went in to purchase a new refrigerator to be told by a fellow veteran that is employed there that they will no longer honor the veterans discount because they lost money!!!!! He was then told that they cannot give the veterans discount on anything that is on sale or discounted and that everything in the store is either on sale or discounted now supposedly so they do not have to any discounts!!! Really nice way to treat our veterans!!!! We used to go out of our way to shop at Lowes that will no longer be the case! We used to purchase a lot of stuff form there we will now be going to our much closer Curtis Lumber!!!!!
Our company attempted to contact building materials FIVE separate times today in order to obtain window quotes for 23 replacement windows. No on answers either the direct calls or the front of store pages. No one at the front of store follows up on calls on hold. Disgraceful customer service. Did find that we can place an online order with Home Depot. Management needs to do a much better job to retain business.UPDATE 7/23/21: Attempted Millwork on FOUR separate occasions, including one in-store telephone transfer. No one answers. When visiting this store, one cannot help but see the lost employees wandering around doing a whole lot of nothing - especially when it comes to answering the phone. I found my replacement windows at Home Outlet in Utica. This store is in desperate need of a change in management.
You either like big box stores or you hate them. I like them for their versatility and the mass selection of items that can spark your creative fire. LOWES is one of the best out there. Being able to chose your own lumber, hardware etc without a lot of pressure is what I like. It is clean, organized and laid out easily.
My son and I bought a gas stove from the Norwich store. When we bought it the young man who sold it to us told us we needed to buy the cord separate, so we bought the cord. We asked if when it was delivered if they would hook it up. He told yes absolutely. Well we didn’t need the cord. That cord was for an electric stove not a gas. The gas stove comes with a cord. When it was delivered the very nice men told us they do not hook up gas stoves. I believe Lowe’s needs educate their employees about their policies and procedures. Hire people that actually know about what they selling.
Lowes has everything you need that is home improvement related all in one place. What could beat this type of convenience well for one the prices are a little bit high but you do get everything in one place and they are cheaper than some other places and you can get good coupon sometimes or good deals it just depends on what youre buying and when just like anywhere else really. Thats basically how that goes.
I visited lowes, for some simple shopping. I wound up buying alot more than i had planned. I couldnt resist the sales that they had going on.I found that the service was very attentive & knowledgeable. The store was very clean & the atmosphere was nice to shop in. Again i purchased way more than i had planned, but again the sales were great. With all of the extras that i had purchased, I still did not spend That much more than i had expected. I would reccomend Lowes to all!
Nice place to shop for your building and gardening needs. They also carry a wide variety of household supplies, light fixtures, cabinets, cupboards, refrigerators, washer and dryer, and lawn care items, coal stoves, and much much more. Great customer service. Theres a restroom on the premises. They except credit cards. Its wheelchair excessable, and free parking.
When Lowes opened in Norwich several years ago I was happy to have them so close to home. However, after four or five negative experiences I only go there for small and quick purchases. EVERY large order I placed there was botched! Appliances werent in stock, when I was told they were, storm windows took SIX months to arrive after several screwed up orders and/or deliveries and a large order of lumber wasnt ready, despite the assurances of the staff. If you need a quick something, like a garbage pail or a box of screws, this is your place. If you want appliances or something big/valuable, go elsewhere.
The purchase was ok but lowes needs to make public that they do not service double wides. We were going to have 7 new windows installed on our doublewide. The sales rep came out to the house and quoted the job to us. The windows were purchased and when it came to the day of install, we were told that they do not work on double wides and could not do the install. This has left a foul taste in my mouth as it comes to lowes.
It was ok. Cutomer service was decent but when it came down to ordering and getting a delivery date that is what took for ever. Also they didnt have the inventory and therefore had to get my appliances delivered. Yeah its free but have to wait a week for them to arrive. If your gonna have a sale make sure you have the inventory available or make it possible to get the items within 48hrs. Also associates shouldnt be standing around and talking to one another. Its one thing if they didnt see someone needing help, its another to acknowledge them, show them where items are and then walk away and not help load them.
Go in for a part that was not available so we had to order, not a problem. We have 3 people waiting on us and none of them know anything. The associate in that department was too busy to assist. Sooo many employees just wondering around doing nothing and no one trained. Just when you think they ordered it, you get in the car, look at the invoice and they didnt even order the right part. So back into the store. We spent an hour and half in the store for something we should of just left and ordered ourselve online. Ridiculous!
I cannot express enough how amazing Assistsnt Store Manager Robin was! We have purchased a pellet stove about a week ago and long story short we had to replace the stove twice in less than a week. So Robin had their delivery department deliver us a new stove AND she gave us a much better stove for the price we paid for the other one! Thats what customer service is! Even just a replacement was excellent, but to upgrade our stove to a better one is more than anyone ever could have asked for
I bought a freezer and it was a fiasco. First they somehow charged me for delivery on an item they said would be delivered free. That was refunded immediately. Then they told me a delivery day and never showed up. I was given another delivery day and they were late but did eventually arrive. I was offered a partial refund. I am not sure who was at fault for the mishap. It was never explained.
Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a store.Even when I complained, I was ignored by the store manager and Lowes Corporate. After spending $ 24,000 on cabinets alone! When I finally got someone from Lowes to respond to me (by harassing them on Twitter) they then referred it back to corporate me the local branch manager, who proceeded to ignore me for several more months. Their excuse when I finally got to someone that was willing to follow up? They were trying to reach me and I wouldnt respond?? Seriously! Then they refused to do anything to make this right. Horrible company that doesnt care about their customers at all.
Very poor customer service at this Lowes location! We stopped to purchase an appliance after the Lowes website for this store said they had it in stock. We waited over 30 minutes for someone in appliances to wait on us. This store had lots of people walking around up front, but not one of them were available to help. Finally we went to the customer service desk up front and were told they no longer had our appliance in stock as the 1 they did have was on Hold but we could purchase the floor model at a discount. UNTIL, the appliance employee who came up front still working with her other customers stated we couldnt buy the floor model. This was a 45 minute waste of time!!
Went downhill since its hayday in the late 90s. Tool selection has gone to the dogs, too much DeWalt as usual. Hardware is sub-par. Service is still pretty mediocre, always people asking me for help when I dont need it and never anyone around when I do. Same goes for Depot though, so I guess I just really want True Value back. At least there is a Curtis Lumber in town.
Waited 24 days for a water heater they told me would be here in 6 to 10 days. They lost the order (probably never ordered it the first time) then it was being shipped right out then no one could find the order in the computer then it was found in Pittsburg and then I got an email that it was finally here, 10 minutes later got an email that said to call the store it might not be arriving on time. Picked it up today. PS: couldnt post this without first rating it. Couldnt give 1/4 star.
Ive never really been a fan of home improvement stores or hardware stores before..until I went to Lowes with my fiance. Dont tell him this, but he was right! I cant get enough! Im a 31 year old woman who, lets face it, isnt very tool savvy..like at all! Ive always had this image of stores such as Lowes to be sort of like a Billy Bees or a Chuck E Cheeses for grown men..a handymans toy store, if you will. Come to find out, (again, dont tell my fiance!) I was so very wrong! There is so much more to Lowes than power tools & beautiful top of the line appliances that I will probably never be able to afford! Who knew?! The home decor alone is enough to keep me coming back. While they are a bit on the pricey side & I usually have to either save up or wait until tax season to be able to buy decorations for my home that I find & instantly fall in love with..the quality of it all is well worth it. If I ever get the chance to spend the money on redecorating my home, Lowes is where its at, for sure! Home Depot doesnt even come close to the selection or quality that Lowes has. Our 1 year old boy, two 3 year old girls, & 5 year old boy even enjoy going with us. My fiance & I have so many ideas for projects we want to do for pretty much every room in our rented home..especially for the kids 2 shared bedrooms & the nursery we literally just found out that were going to have to build in the corner of our bedroom for our first & last baby together. We wouldnt dream of going anywhere else..& not only for the items that we want & need for our already full yet growing home, but also for the simple fact that no matter what town/city we just so happen to find a Lowes to visit..we have NEVER even come close to having a bad experience..not once! So far, the staff in every one of the 4 or 5 stores weve been to in upstate NY seem to be very well trained & are always so friendly, polite, & eager to help point us in the right direction. Even when were just browsing & not really looking for anything in particular. Even though we cant ever seem to afford to spend a lot, & as long as Lowes keeps up the amazing work, they will most definitely have our family as lifetime customers!#HomeDepotWho #GottaLoveLowes
Probably one of the smallest Lowes big box retail stores in the US. Limited selections and staff unfamiliar with common industry materials makes me wonder how this location can continue to meet sales goals, especially with regional lumber yard and supply house just down the road in town.If you need something basic, this Lowes will do, but thats about it.
The problem started with go with this account to get better discount than we couldnt get a strate answer about ower discount the store manager tells us the discount was a lie than thay lied about when thay were guna be here never called me back so that was a lie its took me a day off of work an u lost my workers for the day being thay Lowes lied about the delivery being out this am its 4 oclock an no one
The Norwich Lowe’s has lost the sale of three appliances and now lighting due to no customer service. If I want to buy a pack of seeds, three people will come by and offer help. Have spent 30 minutes or more for each appliance and now lighting and the customer service is no where to be found, or there is 8 of them in the front of store talking to each other. I will not go to them...they see you walk in. Heading to Broome County for purchases. Olums for appliances, not sure yet on lighting.
Website saying the isle location and the actual location was way off.website isle 33 was really isle 24.People was the floor didnt really know either,so was like store hunting a way to get you to look around the store on my view.was not impressed. I was looking for fans to move air around my home in winter.

2022-03-23The Lowes in Norwich has a wonderful staff. Seem to be always on top of things and are very knowledgeable about their departments. Always great deals on useful items and in stock. What cant be found in the store can be ordered online online and the delivery or arrival dates are pretty much spot on.

2022-06-05Went to get ten bags of potting soil and a big bag of miracle-gro dirt on a day when my knee was bothering me. A very nice and polite young man named Connor helped me load them onto my cart and into our truck after paying. I was rung up by a very nice and helpful man named Mark. He has helped me before and was always knowledgeable and willing to help whenever he can. These two men are a great asset to the Norwich store. I will definitely shop here xagain and recommend the Norwich store to my friends and family Exceptional service from both!!--THANK YOU, Mark and Connor

2022-07-03Came in two times in the same week, no one was at the paint counter. I asked someone standing near by to assist me, they said they’ll find the person who mixes paint…. No one ever came. Never going there again.

2021-11-30Staff was nice, although not the most timely in dealing with special orders. Took weeks to get something from another location just the next town over…the young lady helping us didn’t seem the most knowledgeable, which is fine, but partner up with a manager or someone who knows what they’re doing so out $1000 order doesn’t just fall through the cracks. It would have been faster to just order it online from somewhere else.

2022-02-08Forget trying to get an appliance delivery installation from Lowes. This is for my upstate property. I placed an order for a dishwasher almost $1,000 value and tried to get delivery for the installation in early November. Delivery was scheduled the weekend after Friday after Thanksgiving and it was a no show, after calling they confirmed Nov 30th. I waited for delivery and the delivery was confirmed. After waiting the entire day and calling 5 of more times no one seem to know what was going on. The delivery service kept saying we are waiting to find out and that nonsense lasted all day . I was so fed up and what a wad of time . Anyway, I decided to gave them another opportunity and set up anther delivery . One week later on December 6 they showed up in my driveway with calling or confirming after I let the Lowes rep know that the timing won’t work. Two weeks later and one week before Christmas, they again confirmed a delivery time with a call the night before . So after driving back upstate almost four hours, they never showed up. Again, numerous calls to the store and delivery company and again they said we can’t get hold of the driver but they are on their way because it was confirmed. The store tried to help but confirmed that this happened often. I was mad about this after breaking our backs to get there . No one can offer an explanation as to why this delivery and installation is so incompetent and unreliable. So after thinking it over and vowing never to go through this mess. I cancelled my dishwasher purchase.Lowes in Norwich is the closest big appliance store. The staff at this location is typically nice but helpless in resolving the delivery/ installation for the dishwasher .The staff is fully aware and mentioned his happens frequently. This was stressful for me having to be available all day for the delivery dates and no show. Don’t waste your time waiting for a delivery and installation for appliances. I am planning to look for a local store and reliable delivery service .

2021-11-18Clean store. Was able to get help easily to retrieve an item on top shelf. And the employee was helpful, kind and courteous. We will definitely return to this store vs others we have been to.
