Lowe’s has stopped being a quick stop. For the last year my shopping experience has been the same: enter with a question, search for someone to help answer my question, get transferred by a recent hire to someone unfamiliar with that department, wait some more more, receive the name of someone who MAY be able to assist (unfortunately, that person won’t be back into the store until tomorrow or . . . whenever). Each of these experiences is usually tied to some work I am already committed to completing with Lowe’s.
I was returning a snow blower, that couldnt handle the snow that fell in Poughkeepsie. I sprained my hand trying to put it all in the box.I tell the cashier, this works..but not for the snow that has fallen. He stated that I need to wait for the store manager.As I waited for 20 minutes, people were returning items with no license, credit car or recipt. I had my credit card and all info needed. I had a very bad feeling that things werent going to go that smoothly for me.I quickly called customer service. They found my info, and stayed on the phone during my embarrassing moments.The manager comes and quickly asked if I was onnthe phone with customer service...then asked why. I repeated several customers were given refunds withou having to see a manager.Lowes Customer service stayed with me on the phone.The manager was trembling in anger, red in the face, and laughing in my face. Because I made sure, they could hear how my return was going to go.I asked the manager to stop questioning me, that all I need was my refund. Manager said..this snow blower wasnt in stock. I asked, so why was I offered to wait until they were in stock in Poughkeepsie? And sent an email stating they were in stock?Id love to Thank Lowes Customer service agent that stayed on the phone, and heard everything. She kept reassuring me that if the store wouldnt help me, she would. What a horrible experience. Cutting Loews off...going to Home Depot. Im disgustined
If I could give zero stars I would. No one ever answers the phone at this store, and when they do they are extremely unhelpful. The managers promise call backs that don’t happen. I was delivered a broken washing machine over two weeks ago and can’t seem to get an answer on when the replacement will be sent. You can’t speak with anyone, called corporate to complain and even THEY said the store doesn’t answer the phone. Don’t bother with this store unless you like spending money to be disappointed and aggravated.
Went to Lowes for flowers and other decorative pieces for my garden. Initially I went to two other local stores and really regretted I didnt go to Lowes first...their selection of flowers, planters, and decorative garden items such as statues and bird baths were lovely. Highly recommend Lowes for your garden needs.
Negative if i could. They do not care about customer service. I called numerous times, contractor called numerous times almost impossible to get someone to talk to.. Contractor went 4 times to pick up a bathroom vanity, each time they said its not there, but when i finally get someone on phone, they tell me its there and send contractor back, but it disappears when he goes. And management doesnt care!!! My contractor was told he could always go to the Danbury store as an option, essentially telling him to F@#k off
I am in the process of renovating my kitchen and was looking for cabinets. I have a local HD and have TWO closer in distance Lowes yet I chose to drive 40 mins away and order cabinets all because of one person, Kitchen designer Millie. From the moment I called the kitchen cabinets department and Millie picked up I KNEW she was the only person I wanted to work with for designing my kitchen. From my initial phone phone call Millie was so friendly and personable. I literally drove 40 mins just to work with her and boy was I right, the experience has been AWESOME. Millie is not just so incredibly knowledgeable but SOOOO PATIENT. I am NOT an easy person, I’m very picky and neurotic and Millie literally gives me the most patience and kindness. She makes me feel like I’m her only customer, when I know I am NOT lol. I will never go to any other lowes ever again! If your in need of Kitchen Cabinets Millie at Lowes in Poughkeepsie is the BEST!!!
Everything that is wrong in retail. Visit Lowes in Poughkeepsie by mall.Looking to purchaes appr 6k in fencing and ashed.Pro desk was not interested in helping,just had a few questions,but was told they cant assist because Lowes could be liable. All they had to do is say, here is what you would need, but check with your town offical to get the depth of each post. I will now shop online to make my new purchase. Retail is dying because its easier and less fustrating to deal with people or companies that do not want to help customers.
Evie in appliances was helpful when I purchased a refrigerator and dishwasher around 7 weeks ago. Delivery people came today. He got angry when he had to change the handles on the refrigerator from left opening to right. Was hostile the whole visit. Couldn’t wait to get them out of my house. After they left I noticed the freezer handle and refrigerator didn’t line up, freezer door 1/8” higher than top of refrigerator. Got on a ladder and they left 3 holes unplugged. I honestly don’t know if they didn’t know what they were doing or didn’t care. Lowe’s you were quick enough to take my money but not so quick to take my call to the store manager which I spent the afternoon doing. I’m not letting this go. I wonder how I’ll get screwed when they install the dishwasher. Hopefully they’ll send someone that knows how to use a wrench.
Incompetent, disrespectful, and just generally unproffessional, went in to buy some battery for anlawn mower i had a while back forget the brand but the battery was listed for $150, they keep them locked up of course so i had to request the item be unlocked for purchase, they ring it up and tell me its $350 and i look at then and the tag that is right next to the reg and they argue with me that i am wrong even though it was clearly listed for $150, then couple month later my dryer stops working and liowes is the only place that can deliver that week i get the dryer delivered and the heating element doesent work and they say they cant pick it up or replace it for a week.
Great experience as I was looking for some plumbing supplies and the staff was amicable and extremely helpful so that I left with the right parts to complete the honey do job for our home. If you are in the area, I would thoroughly recommend you to go to this location.
A store by store comparison between Home Depot and Lowes (for the record i dont work at either) for me, sends me to Lowes every time. If you compare websites, Home Depot has a lot more diversity of goods, but none of it is in the store, while I find over 90% of what Im looking for at Lowes.Another thing i like is recently, associates have been coming up to people asking them if they need help... YES LOWES!!! thats why we shop in physical stores.
Installation Service. Dont ever work with Lowes to have anything installed. They lack communication and work with inexperienced contractors. I placed an order to have a toilet installed and they recommended I have it measured first. When asked for the quote to have it measured, installed and remove the old toilet, they quoted me $35 for each. Honestly, $35 to install anything sounded incorrect, and it was. The day I completed the paper work for the new toilet, the installation cost was around $250, almost as much as the cost of the toilet. The contractor who came to take the measurements, was in my house no more than 30 seconds. The measurements were never communicated to me or Lowes. On the day of the install, of course, the toilet did not fit. I had to exchange it for a new toilet. The day of the install for the new toilet, I called to get an update on the time, called the contractor directly and was told they were unable to log into their account and had no clue who was scheduled for an install that day. Its been a nightmare of an experience and I would suggest doing your research and working with an independent contractor of your choice, not through Lowes.
I purchased an item here and later discovered that it was missing contents, spoke with a supervisor. He was not just unprofessional, he was extremely defensive and hostile. If this is how customer service is trained at Lowes, I am glad I found out before I made a bigger purchase.
Do yourself a favor.....dont ever by any appliances from the Poughkeepsie, NY Lowes. Worst customer service and delivery ever. Took 3 times to get a refrigerator delivered. 1st time it was supposed to be delivered, after selling it to us, Lowes sold it to someone else and then didnt call us to let us know what happened. I waited all day for it to be delivered and it never showed up. 2nd time it was finally delivered but the delivery guys scratched and dented the hell out of it. They just took the refrigerator back. Finally the 3rd time, they were supposed to call 30 mins before and no one called but these delivery guys at least did a great job of getting it into the house with no scratches or dents.
The assistant manager Darren has helped me immensely over the past year to make sure that special order items and other major purchases I made went smoothly and came through at the best price! Forget about Home Depot, because of Darren and his staff and the manager of this store, Lowes is now my go-to place. If ever you run into a problem at this Lowes store simply ask for one of the managers and I will guarantee that they will resolve the issue. They take ownership of the situation and they make it move forward. What more could you ask for?!?
I like the products at lowes but ive found im always in line when i got there. Was ordering online but now they default to shipping to the store and picking up in the lockers. I hate waiting in a huge line to pickup things or in the garden outdoor section they only have 1 worker there so long lines and they cant come out to help you find something in a section. Not great customer service.
This place is getting worse and worse. Went in looking for a lamp timer. The Lowes app gave an exact location where it should be. Nope, not there. Aisle signs indicate what aisle it should be in. Nope, not there either. Getting someone to help you in this place is like pulling teeth.
I typically go to Home Depot as its a little more convenient from my house. But I went there looking for a 12-in cardboard form tube and they were all damaged. So instead I went to Lowes and they were all perfect. Additionally Ive been looking to buy a platform ladder three or four feet high and they had a little giant for 90 dollars, so I bought it. I may just go to Lowes next time!
More then twice this locations had items in stock on the app but no help near by to locate set item. Shelf/Aisle empty. Other times I’ve gotten help from a gentleman name Angel in the plumbing department. I was in and out. Its really hit or miss. Typically end up here when Home Depot dose not have what I need in stock.
I went to this store on 3/12/21 to buy a dryer and received the most superb and helpful assistance from a salesperson named, Evie. She made sure that I brought only the parts that I needed. And, she helped me to save enough money from a store discount that it ended up making the warranty much more affordable. The entire purchase cost way less than I thought it would. Thank you, Evie!
We purchased a hisense bottom freezer refrigerator from lowes FIRST TIME BUYING FROM LOWES, WE USUALLY BUY FROM HOME DEPOT. *This is not an ad review*. Delivery drivers claimed we werent home when they tried to deliver fridge. my Ring cameras showed NO ONEshowed up. We finally received fridge. 2 months later fridge needed to be repaired. But there were no maintenance repair companies in our district so lowes offered to replace our fridge with another Brand new fridge, of the same brand. We accepted. Than once AGAIN the delivery drivers claimed no one was home. mother of two, 3yrs old and 14yrs old. No fridge has been delivered since we originally put claim in 2 weeks ago. We have been purchasing food from uber for 2 weeks now which is very COSTLY. IDK why Lowes chooses to use FELONS to deliver their merchandise. I know they are felons because of the tattoos the attitudes and the lies.. I asked one delivery driver to put on shoe covers and he said it is a liability to put on non slip shoe covers. Sooo if you can lie about no one being home. You can lie about non slip foot covers. Im done with lowes and will NEVER PURCHASE FROM THEM AGAIN. Even walmart is a better option at this point. A cooler is a better option at this point. Lowes... or anything in poughkeepsie is disappointing. This is like the bronx and Brooklyn of upstate, NY
I placed a curbside order and was never e-mailed a confirmation, nor was told when my order was ready. I used my credit card to place the order and was very nervous as to whether or not the order went through correctly. I placed an order at Kohl’s and received better customer service for curbside!!!! What happened to Lowes? They used to be caring, friendly, professional, and understanding when it came to order placement. Now, they cant even find time to update their inventory on line. Do yourself a favor, call to make sure that the store actually has the item you are looking for in stock before you head there for pickup. I’m so disappointed!!!!!
Placed an order for curbside pickup, available at 8am or so. Arrived at 9, did the check in, and had to wait til 10 for anyone to even come out and speak to us. Employee said she never got the alert on her system. Asked to speak to the manager- he deflected all responsibility and kept blaming a glitch in the system. How did the employee not get the alert, but when I went in to look for someone I saw the flatbed with my order on it? So someone knew it was ready and dropped the ball and didn’t pass on the word to others. The whole point of curbside pick up is to not have to go in. Yet I did have to go in, and in the time in took to get my order I could have gone in and gotten everything multiple times over.
Never buy anything at this store or at lowes. it is next to impossible to reach someone at the store or online to address an issue. when you do, they often are unable to provide a complete solution, and ferry you to another, all the while adding phone time. when you do reach the correct person, they sometimes do not follow through. the online access is often defective. and by the way, the product that lowes delivered was defective twice, and this review responds to the third attempt to deliver a functioning product
Does ANYONE work there??? 23 calls and no one picks up the phone!! Literally TWENTY THREE CALLS!! Ordered a curbside pickup and they cancelled the entire order because ONE thing wasn’t in stock and now no one picks up!! This is absurd! I’ve tried every department too just for someone to pick up and it just rings and rings and you get automatically disconnected.
The store opens at 6am, we arrived at 7:30am, but was told the staff doesnt come in until 8am. We came back at 8:30am. We went to the department at order an item, but the salesperson was on another department helping someone else. We had to wait over 45 min to see someone. She didnt seem that eager to help us, and was constantly on the phone. When we told how much the item was, I told her that I can get directly from the manufacturer website for 1/10 the the price. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. It will be a long time before I go back to Lowes. There are home depots and Aces throughout my area. Next time I will pick one of them, or go straight to the manufacturer when I need something.
I ordered linoleum for curbside pickup, received an email that my order was ready. When I went to pick up the order, I had to wait for over 30 minutes while they looked for my order. Eventually I just cancelled the order because I didnt want to wait any longer. If Lowes is going to do curbside pickup, they need to not send emails to customers saying the order is ready when its clearly not. I have better things to do than wait around for a half hour for an order thats not ready, especially during a pandemic when were told to limit being outside anyway. Terrible customer service. I will be avoiding Lowes for a long time.
This is my go to hardware and supply store rather than HD. Their long hours have saved me several times. The prices for most things are very competitive and the selection is good. I just wish there was more ventilation, because between the wood, insulation, paints, laminates, and all the garden spray, I find i cant hang out there too long before I need air.The service at the different departments is always great - friendly and knowledgeable with no gimmicks. Only the cash registers need to be better staffed for expediency.
HORRIFYING EXPERIENCE!On April 27th, I ordered $3,700.00 worth of kitchen appliances from Lowes through a very lovely salesperson. The delivery was scheduled on May 26th, but was cancelled a few days beforehand.Eventually, the appliances were delivered on June 3rd. The delivery service however, was deplorable. They had zero regard for safely delivering the appliances. In addition, you could tell from one of the workers attitude that he clearly did not want to be here.The stove was dropped at some point as the back corner is dented, though we kept it as it could not be seen. We witnessed and heard them banging the fridge around. But worst of all, while delivering the appliances, the delivery people nicked my newly installed and painted steps EVEN AFTER they were told not to use those stairs to get to the kitchen. Clear directions were given to them to enter through the deck stairs as we had just had work down to the front stairs. Their blatant disregard and disrespect throughout the delivery process was deplorable.The appliances themselves are all flawed; some from the reckless treatment of the delivery personnel and others from the factory. The freezer door was dented, the stove was dented, the icemaker came broken and did not work, and the microwave did not work.When attempting to operate the microwave it buzzed loudly, the display went crazy, and in about 20 seconds it would shut down completely and then went into failure mode.My husband and I went in on June 10th to exchange the broken ice maker for a new one. The new microwave and freezer were not delivered until early August; AGAIN after several cancellations, as if we hadn’t been inconvenienced enough.Today’s date is August 23rd, 2020 and I have yet to hear back from management after multiple requests to speak to someone. I have repeatedly asked to be compensated for the damage that was incurred to my house and the broken appliances that were delivered.What should have been a smooth transaction was nothing short of a homeowners nightmare. Throughout the nearly five months, I have called, emailed, and went into the store numerous times. They are always short staffed. No one to help. No one answers the phone anywhere.Lowes should be ashamed of themselves and I should be both reinstated for the damage that was incurred to my home as well given a generous discount on my damaged appliances . I do not know how they stay in business.NEVER NEVER AGAIN!! BE LEARY PEOPLE. BE VERY VERY LEARY.
My family and I just left here, without buying anything! We were walking around picking up different flowers that seemed to be on the 50% off rack but not been physically marked. So my mom and I went to ask people who worked there and 3 different people yelled at my mom for simply asking a question! I have never had such bad customer service! We won’t be going back there again!
Came in to buy a few things, one of them being a drill. The one I wanted had a mark down price of $39.98. When Hope (who was my cashier during this highly unpleasant experience) scanned the item it turns out the drill was $50.00 instead of the marked down price on it. I noticed this after I paid for the item. When I asked her about it she told me that was not the right tag and the correct price was $50.00. There were several drills still on the shelf with the same mark down price. There was no apology and there was no price match. When I asked to speak to a manager she replied “I am one of the supervisors here” in very rude way. *QUICK REMINDER: THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT* especially when you have multiple of the same item marked with the wrong price on your shelves. A simple apology for the misunderstanding would of been enough. Instead i was given attitude and had to go through the trouble of getting a refund.
Bought something online and received a pick up email. Never received an email saying my order was cancelled. I went to pick it up not knowing and was told it was cancelled because they were out of stock. Well... The item was in stock because I checked. They have lost a valuable customer. Home Depot here I come!
Went looking for a snow blower after a big storm they had them in stock but would not sell them because they had to come off a shelf.When asked when they will be brought down we were not given an answer. the salesperson was not even from that department and knew nothing about the product.The usual nonsense you encounter in big box stores .Its no wonder people shop Amazon prime no hassle and 2 day delivery even on big items.So went home and ordered the same product on line with free delivery will not go back to this store again!
I feel that Lowes has more and higher quality products overall over Home Depot. That being said, I find it all too often that there is almost always only one cash register open even if there happens to be a line of people. I hope they jump on the self checkout bandwagon soon. Home Depot has those and it was always a breeze checking out.
Terrible online shopping experience! There is a 6 burner grill on sale for Memorial day holiday. I went to the store and looked at the grill. The checkout line was very long and Im a little concerned pushing the grill and stand in line, so I chose online ordering and curbside pickup. At the time I placed the order (saturday noon, raining), there was 12 grills in stock. After the order was placed and went through(and my card charged), the stock went down to 11. So I thought maybe thats alright. Then I went home waiting for the pickup ready email. It never came. In the early evening I went back to the store and found all grills on display in front of the store were gone. I asked the customer service rep and he said as long as your order went through you will get a grill. They are just behind in processing all the online orders. OK thats fine. I went back home waiting for that order ready email. Now its sunday morning. guess what? I got an email saying my order was cancelled. I didnt cancel it. Who cancelled it? I need this grill for memorial day barbecue! If I knew the online ordering for this lowes were this unreliable and messy I would have pushed the grill through the checkout counter Saturday afternoon in the rain!I also shop at homedepot and I have to say their service is much much better, both online and in store.
I was going there for plants but I was very disappointed with the selection they had, I found it surprising because the last time I was there they had so much to choose from and at really affordable prices. Maybe they were waiting for the new inventory to arrive...worst place I have ever dealt with, they dont answer the phone they hang up on you abd sell you an extended warranty that they wont honor. I cant remove the last star because they dont deserve any!
A great place to get your appliances. I like going in there and even though I am clueless what I need to get, there’s always someone who is willing to help me.Maria G was a great help with my parents, who needed extra assistance buying a lot of stuff. I highly recommend going back because of the service and presentation.
Poor managed store. Appliances ordered a month and half ago, they keep changing delivery date, have made me wait for 4 hrs on 2 occasion waiting for delivery and never showed up, manager never calls despite employees promising it. Terrible customer service (Rachel from the store is definitely one of many incompetent people that work there). Poorly managed store.
I got the impression that the appliance dept rep didnt want to be bothered with selling me a refrigerator. Everytime I asked him a question about anything, he acted like I was bothering him. This was the New Paltz location. I called the Kingston, NY location and talked to Ben or Ken there and he was extremely helpful! The ONLY reason I didnt buy from him was he couldnt get the refrigerator delivered for 2-3 weeks and I needed it immediately.
I just drove over an hour for a quick pick up for some flooring. The quick pick up you pay on line they pull your order you just pick up. Good luck I showed up to be told it’s 3 -7 days they ordered it. This after I get a pick up email Lowe’s is the worst customer service !! I will never go here again and I’m telling everyone your better off at your local store or even Home Depot!!
I just had the worse experience at the Poughkeepsie store # 541. I Special ordered a 12 formica countertop on 4/20/20. I received a call today 5/8/20 saying that my order was ready to be picked up. When she brought me my special order up to the counter it wasnt 12 nor 10. It was 8 special order. My RECEIPT and My PO# read 12. How incompetent can Lowes people really be.I really think they compete at it. I asked for the manager and he wasnt even professional enough to talk to me. Instead he sent up his ASSOCIATE . She told me to come back tomorrow and she couldnt even tell me how long it would take to get the 12 special ordered COUNTERTOP. I was so disgusted I asked for a refund. They were so helpful just to give me my refund. Lowes can eat it. I have to wait another thee weeks to finish my Kitchen. I wanted to have it done for Mothers day but that wont happen. To lowes your just a body. What a way to conduct a business. Service stinks at Poughkeepsie Lowes store #541. Everyone do yourselves a big favor. Go to Williams Lumber. I just wanted to say I had great customer service from two associates at Lowes. One was Nick from carpet Dept he helped me cut a whole house worth of carpet about 900 square feet and did it with out a problem. He wrapped it up with shrink warp and labeled them for me. The second associate was Shannon she helped him load the carpets onto my cart and took care or the paperwork for me. It was a mess and she figured out where my order was in the system and took care of all the details. I lleft extremely happy that Saturday. Both of them demonstrated great customer service. I go back to Lowes because of them. And I see they were not just helpful to me, but Ive seen them be helpful to other customers as well. Great customer service.
My dad and i went to look at flooring and met a nice employee named Tyler. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was very good at his job. He helped us understand all the different applications and under layments for each type of flooring. We decided after coming home with our samples that we were going back to see Tyler and purchasing our floor. Thanks Tyler for being good at your job😀
Patricia at the customer service desk was not helpful at all. I was looking for something the website showed 13 in stock, but the location was wrong. Instead of helping Patricia said there was nothing she can do. I went and found someone in the paint department that tried to help. When he couldnt find the item he got John from hardware. John helped and looked in several places with me until we found the item in a clearance area that was not in the area where we thought they would be. 5 stars for John, zero for Patricia.
Had a great visit today. Brian (older gentleman) was an extreme help with my fan selection an even found me a cart! He needs to be recognized for his helpfulness and they way he talked about the store manager was great! Being an RM myself I know how important it is for the relationship with employees and it sounds like the manager has it on point. Thank you Brian for your help today!
I went to Lowes looking to buy the LG washer and dryer with the warranty and parts it would have been $2500, A man named Joe helped us he told us 1st, the pair would not be delivered to us for 2 maybe 3months, 2nd he said the pair was over 30in wide he printed out the info pages for them and gave it to us so we could have the dimensions right on the paper it said it was 29in w so we didnt even bother. So we looked at the refrigerators he said the same about the delivery and I could tell he had no idea about them. So we left I came home looked on LG website it to says 29ins wide. So we went onto Home Depot and I gave them our business our new LG washer and dryer will be here July 13th & the rebate comes right off without doing anything.
Store itself is ok. Better than Home Depot. Our experience with them having our kitchen remodeled (cabinets only) was not only a nightmare but also a ripoff. Never again. Poor customer service from the start and until then end. The installer tried to offset the bad experience with small things at the end. They (Lowes) told us that the install would take 2-3 days where in fact it only took 1 day which was good although there were minor things that could have been done better for instance the toe kick at cabinet bottom were not nailed in at all and came off. I had to secure it. Bottom line: for what they charged $3k for installation that only took 1 day was a complete and total ripoff. Lowes probably only paid the installer 1 days labor plus his helper who barely spoke English.
I gave 3 stars because trying to find help was ridiculous, then my mom was looking for a particular type of blind,which they did have sort of but again, to get anyone to help us was a chore. I understand it was a holiday weekend but that is no excuse, they should prepare for such events. All in all, I loved the flower selection, gorgeous selection and the prices are very reasonable.
Every time I come here I have to wait for help for a half hour. No one knows what is going on. I want to give them money and theres no one to help. I needed a generator a few months ago and I stood here waiting 40 minutes before someone responded to all the calls. This time Im waiting for a swind set which was paid for the other day. Almost an hour now and they bought out a fully assembled swing. Wont fit in my truck. Wasnt supposed to be assembled. Looking for another one. I am confident I will have a birthday here while waiting.
The commercial says they deliver appliances the next day. I find this hard to believe. My wife and I ordered a dishwasher 10 days ago. They assured us it was in stock and the plumber would be calling us within three days to install it. We have yet to get the phone call. When we call the store one person told us the dishwasher was there, another person told us it was not. You call back the next day you get a different story from a different person. Next time Ill pay a few hundred dollars more and deal with the local appliance store. PS I am still waiting for the dishwasher.
Just went to return a lawn mower that had a wheel fall out broken coming out of the box. The cashiers were looking for a pen they lost and ignored us for about 2 minutes. Then told us to come around the other side. Mind you were lugging around a lawn mower. No consideration given, no inquiries about what happened to have us return a lawn mower in the one hour it was just purchased. Bad customer service here, just use a different Lowes....or better yet dont.
Just went there to buy a storm door. Bought one last year. Very satisfied then. This time they are severly understaffed, say they are doing best they can. Asked for manager who I was told was on lunch. and no one.krew when he would be back. No one knew his schedule. Walked around and around tryingto find someone in door area. Finally told man left sick. All of a sudden another guy popped up who said it was his dept. I knew exactly what I wanted. He then told me that was a stock door and I could go over, pick it up and take it to register. NEVER ASKED ME HOW I WAS GOING TO GET IT HOME. I AM 68 YEARS OLD AND CANT LIFT SUCH A DOOR UNLESS THE STORE WANTS ME TO GET HURT. I HAVE NO FAMILY AND NO ONE TO HELP AND I HAVE BREATHING ISSUES. I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH RUDENESS AND LACK OF CONCERN.I AM A LONG TIME CUST WITH A $5000 CREDIT LINE WITH THE STORE. I GUESS THEY JUST DONT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS ANYMORE
Well I dont favor Lowes over home Depot or vice a versa but let me just say the customer service at the Poughkeepsie Lowes location sucks. I waited 20 minutes to get keys made and finally I stepped behind the machine and made them myself. Finally an associate showed up and said do you need help I said no I made them myself. He says ok but dont think you can return them if they dont work. He had no care in the world. He did offer to recut them but that was more of an insult then anything. Once I arrived home I tried them in the door and they worked perfectly. Guess it should be self service and 3.50 instead of 7.63 for 3 keys to be made. Shame on you Lowes.
My experience here was horrible due to an employee by the name Maria in the appliance area... When asking her a question she was very sassy and short answered (not even attempting to help) she got upset when Ben began helping us and walked away while texting on her phone (I felt it to be very rude and unprofessional) However, I will give Ben Five stars for his outstanding knowledge, patience, and willingness to help in any way possible... I truly do appreciate sales associates like you, thank you!
Great place! I took advantage of their 5 for $10 sale on mulch today, the employees were happy and respectful even though it was 90 degrees today and the garden center was mobbed, they even suggestex that I take the 2 ripped bags reduced to $1.00 per bagI returned a few hrs later for a few more bags of mulch and saw that they had a decent BBQ 4 burner grill with side burne on sale, normally $206, on sale for $149, couldnt pass it up!
I have been coming to the store for years. I spend thousands of dollars here. Never had a problem until yesterday. I bought an item there on 04/05/2018 and tried to return it the next day WITH A RECEIPT because the item didnt work right. They told me, I CAN NOT return it if its open in a rude and disrespectful manners. The front end staff and the manager there is on a another level of disrespectful. If you want to return something, you better not open it. That is this Lowes on south Rd Poughkeepsie new York policy according to the manager and the front end staff.
Terrible customer service. Girl was rude and nasty. Waited 20 minutes on the phone for curbside pick up before going inside and to be told rudely by customer service girl CANT YOU SEE THERE OTHER CUSTOMERS . Needless to say I wont be going back to Lowes. Ill stay with Home depot. Thanks
Went to Lowes with my husband to buy shed items. As we work late we have limited time to get items we need for projects. Customer service at the Poughkeepsie location was highly lacking. We were buying several items for work for a shed giving Lowes business. No employees helped at all. The cashier ringing us up was half asleep and when we asked a question he called over customer service who couldnt give us an answer and then said there was No one that could help us buy a steel shed. We have an account with Lowes and have like them until now. Looking up switching to home depot. Recommend not going to this store.
It was difficult to find employees to help us out. We picked up a lawnmower and were assured that it was taken out of the box and tested. Once we got it home the wheel fell off as soon as we lifted it out of the box. Someone knew this lawnmower was broken and still sold it to us.
Poor communication. Not enough staff, so it took 45 minutes inside the store to get my curbside pickup. Then they didnt include all the items I paid for, and they dont pick up the phones because they dont have enough staff to get the job done. Not worth another 45+ minutes to get the item I was charged for, but theyve lost my business.
Worst customer service ever, did brand new kitchen and all the workers cared about was selling, appliances were out of stock for 6 monthes was told 3 monthes later, terrible work, some cabinet parts were never ordered, some stuff had to be redone, sells rep for kitchen was nowhere to be found after job was sold, had to deal with rep in different state. Took almost a year for the kitchen to be done which was told should take about 2-4 monthes.
This store customer service really stinks. I placed a curbside order and it said it was in stock, when it actually wasnt. When I went to pick it up, I was told “Oh sorry, our order inventory wasnt updated”. Do yourself a favor, go to Home Depot. Lowes used to be my go to store, but now, I will shop anywhere else.
Went to the paint counter to ask questions and purchase paint for a room in a house my fiancee and I just bought. Three employees backs turned to me. Standing at the counter and not a single one of them notice us, I yell over will someone help me out. Startled them, one guy came over to us and the other guy left while the female employee pulled out her phone to ignore us. So the guy helping us who seemed very much annoyed started helping us. Long story short we ended up getting paint that we really liked. However I will never go back and buy paint there again due to the employees poor attitude.
Just purchased a new house & after spending $1,000s on a new kitchen & carpeting you would think this company would have communication with their installers to make sure the installation runs smooth. Every time these contractors came they were unprepared failing to bring the pieces Lowes said that they would bring with them. The carpet installers were simply creepy & unprofessional!!! CANT believe they treat customers like this, it made me feel uncomfortable to the extent that my husband refused to go back to work & leave me alone with them. The installers themselves said customers do nothing but complain about Lowes & their bad service. Regardless I wont be doing any more major business with this company, which stinks for them because we have a lot more work to do!! Will bring our business elsewhere.

I went to Lowes ln South Road Poughkeepsie the other days to get the materials I needed to install a ground rod for powder coating. I met an employee named Rob and while measuring out my copper wire, he gave me a lot of great info on how to do what I needed to do to get the job done correctly. He also walked me to another isle to personally show me what I needed. Thanks Rob, you were a great help!
Lowes customer service is the absolute worst. Customer care wrote me an invoice over the phone and the store pretended like it didnt exist and refused to honor it. This is the second time this has happened. Customer care did not seem to care or have any interest in resolving this, cancelled my account on the spot and that is the last time I will step foot in a lowes.
I encountered nothing but incredibly wonderful people who went out of there way to bring me to things, to help me get stuff in my car & even went back into the store to exchange an item that I had paid for but sounded damaged (light bulb). He allowed me to stay with my car while he exchanged the bulb that sounded damaged. Im very impressed & will recommend Lowes in Poughkeepsie to anyone wholl listen.P.S. This Lowes was recommended to me by 2 other people. Im so glad I went there...Almost wish I had gone sooner..
Lowes Wi-Fi sucks. And I would have bought the items I needed but I went to Home Depot instead because Home Depot gives me a 10% military discount with my ID and Privilege card. Lowes wants my husband to apply for a separate savings card . My husband and I already have IDs. My husband is retired from the USN and our IDs are good enough we dont need another card in our wallet.
I gave Lowes 5 stars for its Kitchen Cabinet and Countertop Department in the Wappingers Falls, NY location. If you are near this location and in the market for a kirchen renovation make it a point to meet with David Segarra, their Kitchen Project Specialist. He is the most knowledgeable kitchen person. He is very engaged with your project and offers you options that were omitted by others we visited including other Lowes locations. He saved us money and improved our design.
I gave them one star in the past because of this experience when I called them. I got transferred 7 times trying to get some shipping info for my parents. Not to mention getting hung up on 3 times in between. It was late around 6-7pm. I finally got my info after being persistent. That was kind of ridiculous.
All I can say is DO NOT EVER have Lowes do a fencing job for you! It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had!!! Not only do they sub it out to the lowest paying bidder for the job, but the send a crew of people that do not speak a word of English, and have no idea of anything, not even where to put the fence!!!The young man Steve that first met to appraise the job for me was no where to be found throughout the entire process...I had to be the director, and just when you think it might go all right, the dummies put the fence up facing the wrong way and had to start all over again!!!! Lowes gave me some money off but honestly it wasnt worth the aggravation!!! If you need fencing, go directly to a fence company. And that goes for any other big jobs, DO NOT EVER CALL LOWES!!! WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!!
Very disappointed in the service in-storehas to provide. Stood there 50 mins. with 5 employees standing around bsing on break & no 1 would help cause it wasnt there Dept.& In the end the young man was not informed well enough to answer any questions & he said there was no 1 he could find to help
Dont go there there a bunch of con artists.I wanted to go to a big store because I didnt want to go to some local contractor who woud try and scam me,turns out there are the biggest scam artest out there spent over $50,000 on a kitchen remodel and over a year later still having rework done from all of the mistakes there contractor made

Went to this location to replace weak storm door cylinders from 4 years ago that never worked and caused the door to slam,I mostly use my garage to enter the house and never bothered to return them till now and the 2 ladies at the desk believed me and gave me 2 heavy duty cylinders which did the trick.Thanks Lowes and 2 great employees

CAVEAT EMPTORLowes Appliance Warranty ScamI purchased five major appliances from Lowes in 2008 along with their extended warranty agreements. Three of those appliances have demised.Here’s how Lowes failed to honor the warranty:They sent a repair man (and not in a timely fashion). He declares the appliance not repairable and suggests that Lowes send a replacement. Lowes, however, doesn’t replace the machine but sends a gift certificate to Lowes for the original cost of the appliance. On three occasions now, I have gone to Lowes, only to find that I need to add a lot of money to the value of the gift certificate in order to replace the appliance.Not only is this response by Lowes not in the spirit of the extended warranty agreement, it is a total scam. I have now been forced to replace a Bosch Dishwasher, a Samsung French Door refrigerator and now my stack Whirlpool washing machine is kaput and once again the cheery voice of Lowes service center is offering the gift certificate instead of making the repair.CAVEAT EMPTOR

2022-04-11Lowes Home Improvement Stores are in direct competition with The Home Depot. This is good for consumers because that causes both of them to lower prices in order to make more shoppers choose to buy from their store.As far as Lowes, I really like their merchandise and how they sell so many different things. Not only do they sell lumber and all things home building and Improvement but they have household items like cleaning products, garden and lawn products, mailboxes, major home appliances, barbecue grills and so much more!Another reason I go to Lowes is to make 🔑 keys and to personalize my dog and cats I.D. tags.I have brought a lot of flowering plants like lilies for Easter, tulips, daffodils, etc.. They look so beautiful and festive.I am glad that theres a Lowes store conveniently located on Route 9, Poughkeepsie.

2022-06-05I guess I’m going to be sticking with Home Depot. Staff here does not care for customer service what so ever. I needed help picking out an item. I asked a worker who was not doing anything. They directed me to where the item was but said “I don’t know you need to find someone else for help.” Instead of paging someone. Whatever, went to customer service to see if they could find someone “I can’t page someone right now. Go find someone outside.” Finally found the third worker and he was actually helpful. If you care for real customer service it’s far in between here. I would avoid coming here if possible.

2022-06-22This location was really exceptional at one time , but has quickly fallen into less then average service due to customer service and fulfillment dept. Phone hardly ever answered ,told most of the time no evening manager on duty and on several occasions sent email to pick up item listed as ready . When I arrive item is not ready , or cant be located and everyone seems to draw a blank . Terrible customer service and some items like appliances now excluded from veteran discount. Veterans dont need designated spots to park their car in a wide lot ,but a discount the least you can do for someone that has served their country. Lowes is now just an other corporate store.WISH i COULD GO LOWER THAN ONE STAR,

2022-05-11This store is the worst, it takes 25 minutes for someone to pick up the phone. I have purchased three big item from the store and was never delivered on time. Wasted three days of work. Waited one hour for someone to help me with some exterior lights. No One Helped me. Called Lowes.Com and they stated that I had to deal with the store. I go to the store no manger or assistance manger to complaint to.It’s not Lowes fault, it’s mine for buying there

2022-06-06The app showed 407 units of 2 cu ft brown mulch in stock. I checked yesterday morning and again when I arrived at the store. There was none. We checked with an employee in the dept. I also needed 2 sizes of watering cans. I checked the location in the app. None. I only found some while wandering around, that had been dropped on something else. While I will say the help is friendly enough, I am really sick of going there for a specific item and either being upsold with something else or leaving empty handed. This has been going on since a year before pandemic. Usually I search the app for availability and many times things I know should be in stock are listed as available next week. I used to buy my spring annuals there, but I am not driving across town to find out they wont honor the sale prices or else they just dont have any. I question how much longer the store will be there.

2022-06-06Absolute worst Lowes I have ever worked with. Good luck getting anyone to answer the phone. Good luck ever getting contact with deliveries. I have had multiple wrong deliveries on the same order. I was given a broken appliance multiple times. They gave my order to the wrong address. The store team does absolutely nothing. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt thinking they can’t answer the phone because they’re busy but if you go in store they just don’t answer it. At all. They completely ignore it. They just stand at the customer service desk and chat, phones ringing off the hook. Two separate occasions I’ve had my call transferred to the manager on duty, I never give my name they just transfer me, both occasions the manager hangs up on me immediately after taking the call. The staff will barely help you. I cannot believe they are allowed to behave this way. I can’t believe their district and regional managers allow it. What an absolute joke of a store. Unfortunately since I moved to this area I’m slightly out of delivery range for my previous Lowes and I’m stuck with this horrendously staffed trash of a business. What a sham.

Im not allowed to use the ladders to access items at the top shelves.Should honor labeled price.Should help customers find item. If they cant find item, then the next best item should be given at the price of the item they are out of or cant find.

2022-04-03Horrible!!!!! I have been waiting16 hours in 2 days. All weekend to get a clothes dryer delivered. Its still not Here! NO one called me yesterday to say the delivery is delayed. I ordered from one lowes and it got pushed off to 2 different lowes stores. Customer service puts you on hold and doesnt come back. Then after 1 hour and someone finally talks to you they tell me to call the trucking company which doesnt pick up their phone!!!! Im going to tell them to return it if they ever get here and go shop from home depot from now on.
