On the way to Manhattan beach a great stop on Ave X. Bought a couple slices- sausage and mushroom- they ask if you want basil and or Parmesan ontop ( nice touch!). Also a very delicious generous order of Mozzarella stick! The pizza is a NY slice ++. Excellent ingredients and soft yet crisp and yeasty crust. When you don’t need a Designer pizza and want an honestly excellent slice of Brooklyn here it is. The shop is modest and pretty basic and the woman that takes your order…….well you didn’t come here for personality…..
Beautiful spot! Had to try a slice of every pie and all are 10/10. Favourites would have to be the Caramelle Piccanti and the Vodka. Mozz sticks are also 10/10… not too salty and perfect amount of stretch on the cheese. Sal is the cutest pizza shop owner in Brooklyn and all the staff is super friendly.
I just had a whole cheese pizza.I purchased from this store based on good reviews, I was at the place after 20 min ordered. They told me to wait 5 more min. I think that 5 min was extra for pizza because It taste like a bit burn. Also stuff was very friendly and place is clean.
One of the best slices of pizza I’ve ever had! Super crispy with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese ratio! Usually I don’t enjoy the crust, but it was calling my name this time around and it was fireeeeee. Also loving the fresh basil, pecorino and olive oil drizzle on the slices!
I was able to stop by to grab some slices and give this place another chance (they apparently ran out of dough when I went the first time a few days after they opened).Getting right to the point; this is definitely a contender for the best pizza in the neighborhood and you should check it out👍
Theres nothing that needs to be said about Lucia other than that its A+ NY pizza using only the best ingredients, most thought-out processes, and an outpouring of passion from the owners.Jeff is the absolute man and made sure I was enjoying every bite. I had a regular slice (always start with a regular if its your first time at a pizza shop), the Salsiccia (with italian sausage, calabrian chile oil, pillowy ricotta, and as-thin-as-can-be red onion), and a Vodka slice (not pictured). Like I said, A+. I look forward to many more visits to Lucia. Whenever the owners are involved, have their sleeves up, are genuinely interested in making your experience the best it can be, and seem to love what theyre doing... you have a winner.
Hello and good afternoon so I’d like to say I’m very impressed with Lucia’s, I had the pleasure of ordering a pie today and must admit it was quite pleased. I always love to rate pizza on 4 different categories1. Sauce2. Cheese3. Dough4. Presentation1. I must say taking a bite out of Lucia’s brought me back to my childhood eating a slice, I do prefer sauce that is on the Spicy side but this one was very good. It was well portioned on the slices2. The cheese was excellent you can tell the owners are not skimping on low grade cheese like some other establishments do it was well proportioned as well and of good quality3. The dough as you see in the photo cooked to perfection, the slice stood up right it was crunchy it was by far some of the best I’ve had A++4. Finally the presentation was outstanding very well made not greasy AT-ALL I saw NO grease on this pizza which is what I love meaning good quality ingredients, and also there business and branding I love how even the paper on the bottom it says Lucia’s that really stood out and I adored it.I give this place a 9.5/10 only because as I said before I like the sauce to be a little on the spicy side but also I will try there carm picante one of these days as well. Also to mention the pepperoni guys a thing of beauty these guys don’t skimp and buy quality I highly highly recommend very good pizza and newly arrived customer thanks Lucia’s
I literally never do this. But the service and the pizza was terrible. They forgot my ginger ale, and the pizza arrived quickly but completely old, cold, and burned. When I called they barely had any suggestions or offers, and said they’ll give me a discount next time. I ended up having to microwave a $25 pizza…… extremely disappointing.
Tried this for the first time after seeing this new place packed every time I passed by. This is a blast from the past. Nice thin crust. Crunchy crust that I haven’t seen in years. Ordered the half garlic half mushroom. The garlic is delicious and the mushrooms are fresh not canned. Prices of fresh basil top it off. I can’t wait to try some of their other pies. This is some of the best Brooklyn Pizza I have had in a very long time. Stop by and enjoy and enjoy u will
Super disappointed. Read the reviews and got really excited to try it. Decided to have my husband go pick it up to support small business but it was just okkkk-overrated. They promoted their special ricotta cheese dip with their garlic knots (per owner google pics). Ordered the garlic knots and it didn’t even come with the dip… they made it sound like it comes with it but maybe it’s extra? I didn’t see a price of it or on the menu. The garlic knots wasn’t special, just standard. Kinda dry, not enough of oil/garlic. Vodka slice, the sauce was light and the plain slice was just ok. Pizza and knots, def had better. The Caramelle Piccanti did stand out and was spicy, it was good. They kind of did a bad job on evening out the toppings. Def not a place that you would “have” to go back to.
I want to start off by saying everyone was very welcoming, the service was awesome. Ordered a pie which came so much faster than expected and the presentation of it was lovely, however the pizza itself did not have a good ratio of bread to sauce to cheese. It was very dry because it was mainly just bread. It arrived in a thinner crust than expected and yet there was still not enough sauce and cheese added.
Perfect pizza DOES exist! This pizza rivals Di Fara and Totonno’s. Perfectly thin crust. Great toppings, like small-cup pepperoni and anchovies. Get a slice or a whole pie. Each pie is topped with fresh basil, pecorino romano, and cold-pressed evoo right in front of you.
Got a pie here hoping it would better than a slice. Very sparse on the cheese and the crust is too thin. It ended up being so crispy and overcooked that it felt like I was eating cardboard. 1 minute less in the oven and more cheese and itd be a 5 star pizza all around. Until then, this place is nothing but hype and its not worth it. Plenty of well established pizza spots in the area with better dough to cheese ratio.
As for someone who grew up eating Papa Leone’s pizza… I couldn’t be more excited for Lucia’s grand opening… especially after finding out that they’re bringing back the OG vodka slice… I knew It was a must try. And let me tell you, it def exceeded my expectations. I tried a bunch of diff slices and they were all insanely delicious … my personal favs were ofc the vodka and the piccanti slice. Can’t wait to be back for more!
We went there as a family for dinner and we loved it. We had a large pepperoni pie and it was just right. Crust not too thin nor too thick. The sauce was not sour and the cheese was in the right amount so that it wasnt cheesey or taste the sauce too much. We will certainly be back soon :) our 3 and 9 yo loved it too
The pizza was delivered cold and the the bread is way too thick and not crunchy at all. Also I feel like there wasn’t enough sauce on the vodka slice. Over all I am disappointed. Thought this was going to be a hit and that it would be just as good as my favorite pizza spot in Dumbo, Brooklyn which is Juliana’s. Boy I was wrong.
Omigod! I just left there and my mouth is still watering. Dont get me wrong. I love my pizza places around Sheepshead Bay, but this place is different. You can tell the ingredients are top notch, the crust is so light, the cheese is just - I cant even describe it. Come and taste it for yourself!
I went for the first time this past Friday and tried 3 different pies - the Caramelle Piccanti, Papa Leone (vodka), and the Friday special Clam pizza - all 3 were SO good! MUST try if in that area, and honestly its worth it to even take a special trip there! My favorite was the clam special pizza, it had all the right flavors and was even good the next day after heating it up in the oven for a few quick minutes.
What a disappointment! I ordered Margherita pie and garlic knots for delivery. Pizza came cold. It seemed like it was not made fresh to order, but rather prepared a while ago and just warmed up before delivery. The crust was hard and chewy. The sauce, cheese and basil were bare bones - not at all generous. Garlic knots disgusting, not fresh, stale, soaked in oil.
This is why I will never move from Brooklyn !Home of the best Pizza on the planet !Lucia is a beautiful addition to my most loved meal of choice 7 days a weekClean beautiful place excellent service and when the lovely young lady told me it’s going to be a few more minutes... my pies were getting dressed !That Soo added to my experience!!When my pies arrived home both my family and I all looked at each other and said WOW !!!!
When I ordered from Lucia’s the 1st time the pizza pie was amazing and almost perfect. But when I ordered the 2nd time it was like eating cardboard w/ nice pizza sauce. So what I’m saying is if the quality of food could be more consistent that would be great, which is what ppl who rated this lower were trying to suggest.
I was in the area and saw this place had almost a 5 ⭐️ rating... I find that very difficult to believe after eating here. This place is nothing to rave about, the pizza is basic, the garlic knots are awful and the ppl are rude. It seems that they dont like bad reviews either, its pathetic that they feel the need to write fake account, fake review when they get a bad one 👎. No way that these reviews are legit. 3 stars maybe, 4.7 stop the cap 😂 grow up!
The place is fairly new, but off to a good start, getting positive chat around the neighborhood. It has a good-enough pedigree, its owner being the son of the long-renowned proprietor of another neighborhood institution: the former Papa Leones of Manhattan Beach. The tradition of fresh ingredients and pleasing flavors has been successfully carried forward. My experience so far was only one slice on one afternoon, but it brought back the memory of Papas, with a little added twist: the option of fresh basil, shaved parmesan, and an extra touch of oil on your slice. I opted for the basil and the parmesan, enjoying the old-time flavor, not-too-heavy crust, and just-right crunch. On the strength of such a small sampling I gave Lucias the 4 stars, pending future visits and more selections to mangia. That 5th star cant be long in coming though!
Simply put, The pizza is great… the NY Plain and the Margherita is a perfect go to. They finish the pie with the chefs kiss of fresh basil, olive oil, and freshly grated cheese. The look of the place is nice simple and modern yet slightly rustic.Hidden Gem- the Square Grandma slice. The crunch of the crust with the gooey mozzarella and freshly roasted garlic is heaven in the mouth! And of course by the slice is available and the options are solid with the classics always available and a few creations of the chef. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed! One thing is for sure, Papa Leone is definitely proud!
SLAMMING PIZZAThis palce reminds me what Brooklyn is all about someone having a good idea and running with it and itching a homerun! This pizza is very good and they add olive oil basil and grated cheese to the slice adds great flavor. Ferrara Pizza on ave M has been doing it for years. Not to knock Lucias. Worth the visit you will enjoy it fun staff. Use on the weekends.
Owner should teach staff how to speak with customers over the phone, rude girl did not let me finish what I wanna say just hang and called me after 3 hours to let know pizza is ready?? By the way my friend got pizza from you and was overcooed! DO YOU guys know how to cook pizza? See pizza overcooked and still put in the box? You guys a joke!
After a few days of passing by Avenue X, Ive noticed that there is a new pizzeria in the neighborhood in lieu of the now defunct Atomic Wings. Curiosity got to the best of me, so I decided to give this new joint a try. The pizza is absolutely impeccable! The amount of cheese, crust and oil is on point!I must say you guys are off to a very good start, and I am very happy to have tried your pizza. You just got yourself a new reoccurring customer!
Consistently great pizza with great variety of flavor and a true representation of tradition. This place makes you feel like family. Don’t be afraid to order something other than pizza like the amazing Mozz Stix because whatever you order will be on point. Can’t go wrong with this place.
Ordered their well reviewed Margherita pie. I hade very high hopes and I am a huge fan of pizza...I hate to say this but this was a bit of a let down for me. Order on phone was Amazing (so helpful). Delivery was flawless and courteous!Pizza...lots of dough. Sauce was a range of bland to almost store bought in quality (some store bought may be better quality). I like a thin crust...fresh mozzarella (their mozzarella wasnt bad at all...passes for home made). They were quite stingy on the mozzarella. The pie was all dough and sauce. We did not even finish thebpie with 2 kids myself and wife...it ended up going to waste (rare for that to happen to pizza in our house).Understand me right...this was not a bad pizza. It just fell flat in my expectations. If you make ONLY pizza and nothing else, it should be top notch like Totonos used to be. This wasnt it. I really wish that it was. I will be giving them another chance in the next few months and I hope they improve. I dont give 3rd cha chances!
Perfect pizza doesn’t not exi… Wait a minute! I think I found it. This place is a true gem. A true old school New York and South Brooklyn establishment with amazing pizza. Delicious thin crust, fresh basil and olive oil. The staff is also really nice. Lucia is a great addition to the neighborhood. I will definitely be back and will bring many friends.
The people in the establishment are extremely rude! One guy with a beard was literally coughing on his hands then went to give a customer change. That’s really gross! Pizza looks good ; but it doesn’t taste great at all!! Seems like a bunch of fake reviews in my opinion.
Hey fellas I didn’t like the way Dave was being quick with You’s. You guys were trying to be hospitable and he’s like naw I’m good didn’t like that at all I’m from Detroit wanted to just say keep up the good work I’m stopping in to grab a pizza next time I’m in Brooklyn looks great!
I’m just so happy we got to try this place! I was born and raised in Manhattan beach so Papaleones was my spot. After I found out this was the family owned of the beloved pizza spot, I knew I had to try this. We got their hot honey pizza, vodka pizza, and garlic knots. They even showed us a new ricotta dip they were thinking of putting out. Eating pizza will never be the same after trying this place. If I could give 10 stars, I would. I will definitely be back for the hot honey pie😊
Happy to see a real pizzeria in the neighborhood again. The margerita pie was phenomenal. Loved the fresh shaved cheese out of the oven. Ecstatic that one of the owners, Sal, is from my old favorite spot, Papa Leones in Manhattan Beach. Gotta try this new neighborhood gem!
Although it’s not an unusual order, I asked for garlic knots with extra cheese, of course I was charged for the extra cheese. However I was told that they normally don’t accommodate that kind of order but I guess this time they would in a sense by adding a little cheese on it after us came out of the oven, only for my to receive my order with no cheese. I went back inside and asked for the cheese and they young lady continued to say that they normally don’t do that but they’d go ahead & sprinkle a little on it now, which would defeat the purpose of me wanting the extra cheese on my garlic knots lol.. I would’ve gave them three stars since the young lady’s customer service was okay, however when I tried one of the knots it was extremely oily with no real flavor 🤷🏽♀️
Pizza was good. My bad review stems from the staff. Mostly the short guy with the tight pants and white escalade. He cursed me out in front of my 5 year old son then tried to fight him because he missed a shot into the garbage and then started pacing around with foam coming out of his mouth talking to himself. Mind you he’s in his mid 30s same height as my 5 year old. Made me feel very uncomfortable. STAY AWAY from this place! Bunch of other pizzerias with normal respectful staff in the area!!
I ordered a plain, margarita, and vodka pie. All were delicious. As an avid pizza eater, this place is definitely in my top 3 for best pizza ever. Thin crust, delicious sauce. Simple perfection. Delivered promptly at 12:58 when asked for a 1 pm delivery. So excited to have this amazing local eatery only a few blocks from my office.
Just had two slices the guys were getting ready for a photo shoot for Uber eats this pizza is better then all the pizza places in the area hands down my new go to for pizza I hope they start making those buffalo pies cause I’m gonna order them like crazy lol. Delicious absolutely yummy pizza def not like the rest.
We have some serious pizza in Sheepshead Bay, yet I was secretly rooting for this place all the same. Watch out neighborhood pizzerias -- Lucia is bringing real game. Add it to the rotation and you will *not* be disappointed. Also, respect for the limited menu. Legit!
Pizza was ok. What did it for me was that short guy with the glasses. I asked for garlic powder and he went off on me so bad. He started ranting and pacing around the pizzeria as if I did something wrong. Napeoleon complex for sure. Stay away from this place before that place turns out on the news due to this guy!! Also had to throw my slice out due to the foam that landed on my plate from that guy! STAY AWAY!!!
Lucía has always fulfilled my needs whether it comes to a time for good eats or to just sit down and have a nice time. Always great varieties: Margherita, vodka, plus more including their best caramelle picanti featuring hot chilli peppers, hot honey, and pepperoni (choice of beef or pork pepperoni). Love it every time I’m here. Highly recommend
Delivery guy called and made me come downstairs to get my pizza why would i order delivery if you gonna make me come out its so stupid when i called to complain girl on the phone said we are so busy olease meet him downstairs.Seriously this is the customer service?lol
Thank you for bringing this type of pizza into the neighborhood, from a guy who eats pizza more than anyone that I know, and most people can attest to that, this was probably one of the best slices I’ve had in a very long time, I recommend this to people outside the borough (BROOKLYN) to come through and try a piece of history…..this slice can easily compete with some of the best in nyc

2022-08-25This has to be the best pizza Ive had in a long time. When I tell you the perfect crust, I mean perfect. Everything from the dough to the sauce and cheese was all in perfect balance. We had the Vodka pizza and the grandma pizza, both delicious. Oh and dont forget the large cheese oozing mozzarella sticks and the super garlic knots. A must try if youre in the area

2022-03-22I came from Long Island to try this place. The girl behind that cash, was very nice. The guy that prepped the food was nice. The regular cheese slice pizza was great.Everything was well made, perfectly crafted. It was about $3.00 and change for a slice which is decent in NYC.

2022-04-30Awesome pizza!! Excellent flavorful sauce and the perfectly crispy crust! My margarita slice was awesome and my sons cheese slices also tasted excellent! (I tasted a square). 😉🍕 5stars just for the pizza! The layout of the chairs is a little awkward (like no trash can easily accessible (if you want to pick-up after yourself) and there are folks constantly coming in & out for delivery, which is fine, but something about the space doesnt lend itself to a relaxing, enjoyable eating-in experience. The service is a little lack-luster-- well meaning, but they dont seem to preemptively consider what you might need to eat in.Also, no public bathroom, that I could see access too...?Still--I cant recommend the pizza more!

2022-04-04Do you ever see a gorgeous person and wonder, what are they doing in a place like this? Then when you start to get to know that person, you find out they are as good inside as they look on the outside. Now replace that person as Lucias pizza. I found this place on Instagram and found out they were right in my neighborhood. Gorgeous looking pizza, tastes just as wonderful as it looks. Crust is nice and crispy, good cheese to sauce ratio. Toppings are nice, but I wish I got more pepperoni on my pie. They seem to have a rotating menu which is a great bonus. This place makes pizza way too good for this area in Brooklyn.Dont blow this, Brooklyn. Give this place your business because it deserves it.

2022-06-26Theres no better pizza place in the entire Sheepshead Bay area I can swear. This pizza is from heaven, easily I gave them 11/10 score. And I forgot to take a picture of the knots that we order too. Another plus is the vibe/mood and customer service is just way too comfy and cozy. Cant wait to get more deliciousness!!!!!

2022-03-01Delicious NY pizza! 🍕 I stuck with the classic cheese slice and I wasnt disappointed. Cooked to perfection with excellent crisp and zero flop. This is the type of pizza you can eat a couple slices and not feel gross because its so light. The staff was super friendly, had a great conversation with them, good vibes👍

2022-04-06This is a Gem of pizzeria that opened up in our neighborhood. Have consistently ordered from them the past 4-5 times and their quality of pizza has remained on par! The sprinkle of parmesan and the fresh basil scent and taste are unmatched, a perfect thin slice with a crunchy crust.

2022-05-15My fiancée and I experienced this place for the first time today. Not only was the slice on the right one of the best slices of pizza I’ve ever had, but the owner is an awesome & humble fellow. No complaints and nothing but praise for this delicious pizza spot.

2022-08-25Finally decided to try out the place after passing by it many times, boy did I regret not trying it sooner. Absolute gem of a place with a wide variety of pizzas. I tried the Caramelle Picanti, scilian grandma, and the vodka. They were all delicious, especially liked the caramelle picanti, as it hit many different taste notes. Also would like to note that the crust on all three pies are cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Highly recommended.

2022-04-28Amazing place. 1st - Garlic knots are amazing. 2nd - I am the 10th of my friends to say that the Mozz sticks are the best I’ve ever had. 3rd - The pizza is now in my top 3 favorites along with Difara and Lucali. The dough is the perfect combination of crispy and the dough has a great sweetness. The staff are very friendly, fast and accommodating. The layout is great and it’s a fun place to eat. They keep the restaurant super clean. Love it. So happy they opened a pizza spot of this caliber in the neighborhood. We’ve been picking up 4 times a week.
