Dr Chien is the most intuitive, caring and practical dermatologist Ive ever been to. Hes patient and knowledgeable. He considers you from a wholistic perspective. So, hes not just treating your symptoms. He considers all aspects of your health, physical as well as psychological.
I have been to several NYC dermatologists in the last 4 years, and no matter what treatment, no solution worked for me, we tried everything.One visit with Dr. Chien and he was able to identify the real issue and my skin cleared up in one week.I highly recommend Dr. Chein. His staff is also top notch and thorough. No Assembly Line treatment here!
I dont know how to say this without sounding dramatic but I truly believe Dr. Khalil saved my life. This summer I have had the worst of the worse type of bites. Every doctor Ive seen (ER, Clinic, etc.) brushed me off and said these were bed bugs. To add this all up, I went hiking in Bear Mnt. not too long ago and got bit by a tick. I looked up tick bites but didnt think much of it since my body was so consumed with different type of bites. Dr. Khalil recommended to get my blood work done and yup, positive for Lyme. Im just so glad we caught it early. He even went ABOVE and beyond to see the blood test results himself and talked about my cholesterol. Even after treating my Lyme, bites still persisted so Dr. K recommended a biopsy which was painless. It all went away with time however, I am just so grateful for a doctor that goes above and beyond for his patients. I cant recommend him enough. Dont hesitate on booking with Dr. K!
In short, inadequate doctor with horrible front desk people. I saw Dr. Chein.Doctor: ask me to start spironolactone for acne. Been on it for 4 month with no improvement. When I saw him again at 3rd month, without taking a look at my acne or asking anything question, he told me to double the doses for everything he prescribed (pill & cream).Well guess what, it still didn’t work and give me a very fragile stomach that landed me in ER a few weeks ago.Also, I never spend more than 5 mins with him in the office.Front desk: never answer the phone the listed on the website. When I ask for their direct number, the lady at the front desk gave me a attitude that’s shouting “wow you are too much trouble”.Billing: the billing they sent me and the billing statement on their website are not the same. I called the billing department, and it turned out they outsource the billing. Always machine, no answer.I would love to support a fellow Asian doctor’s business, but man you disappointed me.
Office is in a very non-descript place, so I had my doubts. I didnt meet with Dr. Chien, met with the PA- Cindy. Very knowledgeable and explains everything. They do not rush you like other derm places. Gave me an ointment that solves my problem and they also gave me a coupon to use towards my prescription in case my plan didnt cover it. Highly recommended!

Dr Peter Chen Nysc is amazing!He has made me look 10 years younger than all f my friends.but very natural.He has also helped me with my skin cancer. He goes above and beyond any doctor.

Polite & professional staff & youll be in & out. The dermatologist puts out the energy that theyll make sure they get to the bottom of the your condition & get you fix up.
Saw Dr. Chien in February. He took a small sample and sent it to a lab for testing. Got a large, unexpected bill from the lab via their third party billing agency. None of Lumos, the lab or the billing agency can explain it - they all try to direct me to each other. Very annoyed to have to deal with this.
Worst experience ever! I went in for my 2nd appointment and they ran out of the nitrogen gas for removing a wart. They told me to come back when I am in the area which I never am. I finally came back and have been billed TWICE for the same service.I have tried to get this fixed for months to no avail. Their billing company has contacted them multiple times - no response. I have contacted them multiple times - no response. This was a HUGE inconvenience!
I initially visited this Derm office for a consultation in relation to a deal on Groupon for Fraxel Laser, after trekking from BK the Dermatologist tells me they dont actually have Fraxel laser but some other type of laser. The dermatologist seemed nice, the office itself is nice and clean but as per my experience and knowledge they dont really offer Fraxel laser services which is why Im giving two stars only.
Waited an hour to see doctor, seems a bit much40 mins in waiting areaThen 20 mins in exam Room.

No fuss, no bruises, it was incredibly easy to have a facial filler with Dr. Chien.

2022-03-31Dr. Chien is SO thoughtful, detailed and extremely professional. He addresses any and all concerns and uses his knowledge to appropriately prescribe what is best for YOUR body. He is very diligent on making a thorough plan and making sure it’s working effectively. The front desk staff always make sure you’re questions are answered and communicate any concerns. I recommended this place to a friend and would recommend Dr.Chien to anyone looking for a dermatologist. Great staff and even better doctor.

2021-07-20Dr. Jeon is amazing! Not only has she helped me get my adult acne under control, I opted for a pico laser treatment with her and my results were incredible. She is terrific at educating her patients about how to manage and care for their skin, something most derms never have the time to do. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

2021-10-25Dr Jeon and her staff were attentive, providing detailed explanation of every question I had . I went in to remove some sun spots and Dr Jeon managed to spot tiny BCC spot on my temple via a biopsy she suggested. I really want to thank her for her.

2018-08-04Dont let the convenient scheduling or modest location fool you. Dr. Chien is a current(!) Harvard researcher who is constantly working to bring the latest *proven* treatments to his patients.Ive been a patient of his since long before he opened this practice. He is a genuinely kind person with stellar bedside manner, and a gift for explaining complex medical issues or cutting-edge treatments in simple terms that anyone can understand.If that sounds different from what youre used to from a doctor, give Lumos a try. You wont regret it.
