Looked for a decent spot to take my Mom for lunch in her neighborhood. Found this little gem! Food was delicious & service was great! Will be back.

Fun atmosphere with great tasting food but what makes this an experience is Jennifer. She is wonderful and an excellent bartender. Makes the best old-fashioned I’ve had!! You just have to come to see her in action and taste her drinks. Have fantastic memories it seems.

I came out from work to relax to have a few beers and enjoy the time, I just seated on the bar but unfortunately the service from the bartender was kind of weird because she was haven her dinner at the bar and she never asked me about my next round until she finished her dinner... as restaurante worker I did not know about bartender can eat in front of the costumers and even tho when I left she never said bye or thank you! Worst service ever!
Lunera is a great place to enjoy drinks with friends or a hot date. I wouldnt call it exactly Mexican, as its not authentic Mexican cuisine. I would say its Mexican inspired with a Latin/Spanish influence. Sometimes they have live music. The place is beautifully decorated, and the staff is very friendly.

Service wasnt the best why cause you have waiter that cant fully understand English. I never been to a restaurant where they charge separate for guacamole &salsa w/chips it usually comes together complimentary that was red flag #1.So we said lets order something simple like empanadas w/black beans and my guest had steak fajitas which was good I heard thank god. Empanadas(very dry,no taste,very bland,and a waste ), white rice &black beans HORRIBLE.The drinks was good the bartender needs a raise and the chef or cook needs to be fired Im sorry..So we paid for chips& guacamole and salsa& chips(SEPARATELY), Steak Fajitas, Dry Empandas, Bland Mind As Well Not Be Seasoned Black Beans&Rice ,2 Margaritas and we paid almost $100 for that. I wish I had pics but the food was so bad I didnt even take none.

Food was good, I got the tostones appetizer and the vegetarian paella. We did outdoor dining but it was chilly and their heaters werent working. May check it out again in the summer!

First Id like to thank the Gentleman on Halloween wearing the skeleton bones shirt for his attentiveness and assistance at our 1st and last visit there. I had a friend make reservations under the name Miguel a day prior to our appointment for 8pm on Halloween and the fine gentleman said he did not see any reservation under that name for that night but was still very polite in assisting us to continue with our reservation and seating for our visit so that was very appreciated, until a Colombian waitress or front desk receptionist returns to the back where the staff had already prepared a seat for 2 for me and my friend and rudely states this seating was for 4 and she would be moving us out to another seating arrangement. Another 4 person table???Ok....so the food was excellent, minus the embarrassment from the waitress, to only see as uncomfortable as I was from how she handled our arrangement, another 2 person guest sitting in the VERY SAME SEAT WE WERE REMOVED FROM. How disorganized and unprofessional was this. Was she! And her ability to assist us and make us comfortable. Greatly disappointed with her service, Again thank you to the Gentleman but my stay was very short, brief and disappointing. This is a very well designed establishment. The rustic interior sets a great vibe and atmosphere that compliments the amazing food. Staff is welcoming and friendly, prices are very fair and they even have a patio section. This is going to be the new hot spot on steinway this coming spring and summer. They have nice happy hour deal going on and great drink selection in general! Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
I would like to change this review in the future but it’s 1:33 am and google shows this place closes at 4 AM. My friends and I got seated and got handed menus EXPECTING TO ORDER FOOD. We ordered our drinks and the waiter came back to tell us the kitchen is closed and they basically have finger foods, no dishes. HOW DISAPPOINTING. This is no way to treat people just so they can make a dollar. Management needs to tell their staff to let customers know before settling in at the table. #wastedmytime

The octopus was delicious, soft and cooked properly, the skirt steak was cooked MW just as advised so my complements to the chef (not every place cooks it as requested), lastly the beer and the TV were right on point for the event, we had a good time and will return to taste other dishes.The place looks nice, a sort of contemporary Mexican style with a twist of old charm, the lighting and decor make it stand out.

Very disappointed at this place. Not even for the place itself but for the service. I went on August 4th with a friend and the bartender, (a Colombian girl) didnt want to serve me because supposedly I didnt pay her 4 margaritas a year and a half ago. I remember she charged us 2 extra margaritas as she was trying to take advantage of my friend who was a little drunk, I told her i would pay 2 margaritas and we left. When I came back, she started cursing at me and called me a thief in front of people and send 2 guys to kick me out, super rude.... Very unprofessional. She didnt call the manager or showed me the video. She started threaten me and I got resistance because I was very upset, I ended up leaving. I am definitely filing a claim against this business with consumer protection agency. I don;t think that is the right way to operate a business, I want the owner of this place to be aware about his staff.
We bought a Groupon thinking that the food would be authentic Mexican.. It was not even close to authentic. The sides with the entrees just didnt make sense. I have never had french fries with my chicken before. The selection was a little unusual and not very catering to different pallets. However I will say that the customer service was exceptional unfortunately I found a hair in my Ceviche and our server didnt hesitate ones to bring us a new one and also comped it on our bill.. Will I go back? Probably not because I would like my food to be authentic but I will say the customer service was amazing
The food here is phenomenal- they blend the guacamole at the table, absolutely delicious. My friend had the hanger steak and said it was perfect. I stayed safe and had the chicken quesadilla which were also delicious- the sour cream was the nicest Ive ever had! Also tried the passionfruit margaritas- so good...will definitely be back!
This is the New Hidden Gem in Astoria. It is a Mexican - Spanish fusion food. I went twice already and I highly recommend the octopus, crab cake, steaks, baby pig shank, and the paella. The staff is Amazing. Drinks and food are delicious, everything is fresh and great quality. The prices and the atmosphere are very good. It is worth it. Congratulations guys you are doing an amazing job.
The shrimp tacos are really good. This review is before I even had my main course. So you already know this place is good. I dont even have to wait till I finish dining in here lol. Bring that ass here, its really good.
I love the service at this place. Its wonderful. I have been there three times and so far I have loved what I had. Their desserts arent amazing but they are ok. The food and the ambiance though as great. They have live music (great singer) and kareoke on certain nights.
I visited Lunera to celebrate my birthday with my friends and it was the best choice ever. The food and the cocktails were delicious, and the music and the service were excellent. I highly recommend the Lechona, the octopus, the paella and all the deserts I will definitely go back.
Food was amazing!! we had the paella and tscos ...white sangria was delicious..cant wait to try something else from their menu..beautiful spot..love the exposed brick and wood...waiter was also very nice. Def..would recommend..
Seafood Paella is awesome!! Yum... Regretted tacos, they were 3 small ones for twelve dollars. Their free crunches are good to chomp, made from a variety of root vegetables. Pricey, would go using a Groupon. I went with my 5 year old. He ate seafood Paella and crunches, and left the tacos.
If I could leave a 0 review I would. But this is a mandatory 1.For a cinco de mayo they were understaffed and very unattentive. We officially sat down around 6:30pm and took forever to get our order of drinks and then to serve at this point it wasn’t a big deal until we ordered our food. Ordered another round of drinks when we order our food they waited close to 30 min to tell us the machine was broken, yet it was running just empty. We were a group of 4 and placed our order of food at the same time 2 of us got our food 45 min later and the other 2 got our food another 30 min after our friends. When we mentioned to the waitress she apologized but didn’t offer anything (discount or something to compensate for the “kitchens” error she claimed). Not worth wasting your money when it’s very expensive for the very tiny portions.My friend ordered the chicken tinga empanadas for $8 which consisted of 2. My other friend ordered the tostones and what she received was maduros. My other friend ordered shrimp tacos which were super tiny for $12. We also ordered the guacamole which was half an Avacado that another waitress came to serve, but barely mashed the avocado we had finish mashing it ourselves.
The place offers a great variety of delicious food. I love dining here. The employees are always very nice, pricing is reasonable and the place is always well organised.

Super delighted with the place and the phenomenal atmosphere, a new restaurant that came out unexpectedly because it was like after 10 pm but we were especially grateful with the service, the waitress treated us super well and friendly and the food was spectacular, very delicious And the drinks not to mention, very happy because I celebrated my birthday in a quiet and charming atmosphere, thank you very much, I recommend this place and have a great time.

El sitio no estaba lleno y aún así sobre la barra había mucho desorden,la música estaba a muy alto volumen,habían dos meseras,una de ellas muy amable,la otra estaba un poco seria. Pedimos sillas altas para nuestros bebés y quedamos sorprendidos de ver que a ninguna de las dos les sirven los cinturones de seguridad,una de ellas se tambaleaba mucho y por más que la mesera la limpio,se notaba que era una silla muy vieja y sin mantenimiento. No se cómo pueden poner en riesgo a los niños con estas sillas y no hay nadie que regule esto?,o están esperando a que pase un accidente para revisarlas. La verdad,pedimos algo ligero y abandonar este sitio lo antes posible.
We went on Saturday, May 7. The owner of the establishment was constantly pushing the women who were dancing in the corridor, and one of them complained to him in a decent manner, but he replied, if you dont like it, the doors are open…. Honestly, a bad experience. For me that bar ceased to exist, be careful with that man, he is rude and defiant!
The food very good. But when we wanted to pay, we asked to pay c 3 credit cards and they did not allow it.Thats why I take 2 stars off.

I made a reservation for 24 people the place is too small and its not a family atmosphere thats enough to go to drink the music was so loud that we couldnt talk... the lousy service and the food all tasteless without flavor or salt I dont recommend to go As a family, how sad we went to celebrate my girls 15th birthday 😔😔

Excellent place to have some beers. The place is small and does not have parking. The staff is very friendly although when there are many people they forget the orders.I asked for water and the waitress took about 20 minutes to bring me. That day there was a wedding. I guess thats why they took.The prices are regular. A bucket of beer costs $ 30 dollars. The excellent food.

BAD SERVICE!!!Starting with the waitress who thinks boss called JENNIFER. Since we arrived at the restaurant he gave us an attitude and spent the whole night sitting at the bar drinking alcohol with other customers, and he didnt even want to get up to ask if we needed anything else! We never felt so ignored in a restaurant especially in a family dinner. In the end they put the tip that she obviously did not deserve for the poor customer service and for not leaving the tip she wanted in the end she voted us from the restaurant and told us not to return.NOT RECOMMENDED ESPECIALLY IF THAT TABLE CALLED JENNIFER WILL TELL YOU HOW TO TABLE. That lack of respect and lack of professionalism with that woman.
Before the pandemic I would visit them once a week, I came back yesterday to find a table just for me, but I was not paid attention, I assume because I was going alone, and it was certainly not that full and there were about 4 tables outside free.
It is a very quiet and beautiful place you have a great time the food is exquisite and the attention is excellent I recommend it to everyone you have to go live music, delicious cocktails, margaritas, or even a cold beer with good music. ordering Lunera is my famous site

2022-05-08After salsa class my wife and I were looking for spot to eat and we found this nice cozy spot nearby. The food was decent and our waitress was friendly. Our food took a while to come, I think it was because they had just opened but it wasn’t a big deal. Would definitely come here again.

2022-02-24Lunera - we picked Lunera as we were looking for Mexican food in Queens NY. It was a cold Saturday night. We called and made a reservation and we were seated promptly upon arriving. We arrived around 7:15 PM.Pros:The staffs were very attentive and super friendly. The atmosphere was great and it appears to be a hot spot for groups gatherings for birthdays and other special occasions.Cons:Drinks - both my husband and I order margarita on the rocks with salt. Our first drinks were watered down. We let our waitress know how we felt about our first drinks and didn’t want the same with a second drink order. She promised she will make the drinks, that said we ordered a second round of drinks and again our second drinks were watered down. Absolutely no taste of alcohol.Food - We ordered two appetizers - Chicharron Ahumado & Pulpo Bravo and for dinner we ordered the Seafood Paella which was a generous portion for two. The only component of these 3 plates that was enjoyable was the Pulpo Bravo. The flavors were totally missed with the other dishes.I am hoping they were having an off night and it’s unfortunate for us, but not usual for them.

2022-03-27Absolutely the best place Ive been in my 6 months in New York. My partner is very picky, but she continues to want to eat here and we have never been even slightly disappointed by anything we order. The vibe is great; very chill and moody, and the people working here from the owner to bartenders are always genuinely welcoming. My favorite item on the menu so far is the chicharron.

2018-11-19Definitely a spot I will try again. The food was delicious and the presentation was on point. Every dish was fantastic and the prices were very affordable. Great margaritas. One of the best pork bellies ever. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because my mother in laws order was incorrect and the rest of our party was basically done by the time she got her food. An honest mistake but kinda put a damper on the brunch.

2022-04-02Chicken quesadillas and ceviches are delicious, service and staff are great, only thing I don’t like is that after 11 pm music is too loud that you cannot have a conversation. They were playing bad old Vallenatos last time.Ana has the best service, she makes the best margaritas. I only come here to drink her margaritas and also eat arepas. She is super kind and has great customer service, I recommend her service very much but I give 4 stars only for the loud bad music after 11 pm.
