Too many choices on the menu. Turkey sub is good as is fresh sliced dinners. Weekend breakfast. Omelets nice size with generous ingredients. Good prices. Onions under cooked so ask for them fried before putting in the omelet. Tables very close together. Not great for person with Walker.
This place was amazing!! We were visiting for a wedding and it was late but we ordered for a family of 7 and everything was excellent. They have tons of different things. I recommend this place 100% the staff was very friendly and nice as well which made it even better.
The food was excellent. My husband had pepperoni pizza. Crust was awesome. I had a small stuffed shells and salad - very filling. Loved that the tomatoes and onions are the thin sliced. The pepperoni was nice and thick.Service was great, loved the atmosphere. Very cozy, warm diner type place. Definitely comfort food, in comfortable surroundings.
Skip all the chain sandwich shops and go to Lunettas for great food and service. This place has been around for over 40 years and Tony has carried on his familys legacy. Hometown at its best. Knowing your customers by name says a lot about the history of this place. Full menu to satisfy your belly. You wont be disappointed.
I love it here. Its like out of a time machine. Its a standard buffalo diner and restaurant menu, but also they make a decent pizza; and my goodness, do try the fresh carved turkey sub! Not for those in a big hurry, as its typically understaffed but if you happen to spend half an hour waiting for your order at the counter, youre likely to meet some interesting neighborhood folks. They also have a couple beers on tap to pass the time.
The best little restaurant in the area. Family owned and run with great homestlye Italian food and atmosphere. Hand carved Turkey dinner and meatloaf dinner are my favorites. Everything here is good. Pizza and subs, fish fry, homemade pies are just a few items that are excellent. Love Lunettas!
Excellent family food. Very simple setting and seating but menu, food, service and value are all great. Been open 50 years, Ive been eating there 50 years and always always good. See the owner behind counter if not. Very quaint. Great italian food and sauce is delicious. A+
Absolutely never had a bad meal or went away hungry and I literally ate 100+ meals there. I used to live within 2 miles and frequently stopped for dinner. That ended 19 years ago and I still go back when I am in Buffalo. I have taken a number of family and friends there and never once has there been a compliant and unanimously they were extremely pleased. I have seen absolutely no change in the quality of the food and if anything changes to the menu have been improvements. Whether you want italian food, subs, sandwiches, or a fish fry their food is excellent. Eat in at the counter, table or booth OR take out the food is some of the best across the board in the Buffalo area. Many places have specialities that are incredible and there are many exceptual restaurants in Buffalo, but for a menu that you cant go wrong no matter what you select, I will take Lunettas Drive-in every time. The place has been run by the Lunetta family decades and they take great pride in their food and service. What can I add to what should be a 6 star review 1) Their turkey sub isnt made with some slimy deli turkey, but with real turkey cooked and craved in house. 2) Their sides are always good, but if you like German potato salad you are in for a treat (I get it nearly every time). 3) They make shakes and malts which are very good. 4) Their pies are outstanding (coconut cream and lemon meringue are my favorites, but all are great). 5) If you walk in the door without any idea what you want make sure you check out the specials on the board behind the register. If they dont make it well they dont make it. Chicken A La King, meatloaf, soups, or whatever it will be good. 6) Large portions and reasonable prices. If they were simply a diner they would be one of the best I have ever been in, now add the italian dishes and attention to detail that makes sure you are satisfied and it is so much more. Simple, but extremely clean and friendly atmosphere.
I contacted Lunettas about providing a team dinner for our hockey team who was staying a few minutes away. After speaking with Tony, he custom made a menu that suited our needs. Picked up chicken parm, salad, meatballs, and pasta and served at our hotel. Food was amazing, as was price! Bottom line, if you need some top notch Italian food for a hungry hockey team, Lunettas is the place to go.
We went for dinner last night and put our three year old daughter into a high chair that had a used lancet and bloody alcohol wipe in the cup holder. We didn’t notice it at first because we were situating our other daughter and putting her baby bag in the booth. Seconds later our three year old handed us the infectious material. We immediately let the waitress know and she was very apologetic but we are still in shock. We have been going here for years but have noticed a steady decline in the food and cleanliness of the building. This will obviously be our last visit! I am totally discussed by even the thought of this place. FILTH!!!
Ive never had a more RICH tasting sauce. Not sure what they put in it, but it lingers on your taste buds for a while, and thats not a complaint. The portion that I had for the large lasagna was more than enough for one person but really good. It definitely filled me up and isnt expensive AT ALL. Lunettas is a great place for a quick stop with fantastic food.
If I could give less than a star I would. The owner has no idea how to treat customers. I had a credit from a problem with a previous order. My order was missing two chicken wings and the $4.00 for double mushrooms apparently doesnt get you many mushrooms. He reluctantly said he would give me a credit for the next time I came in, he didnt say how much and I didnt ask. I went back and the credit was for $1.50, LOL. There was a problem with this order, an order for which I had to wait for almost an additional 30 mins. once I got to the restaurant, the sub I ordered was missing the ingredients because they had all fallen off the sub and slid to the bottom of the bag after it had been dropped by an employee. I went back inside to have them remake it and went back outside. While I was waiting the owner came storming out of the restaurant and began yelling at me. He said, theres no satisfying you, you need to leave. He expected me to leave without a new sub, the old sub or a refund. When I questioned what about the money I already paid he just stormed off. When I asked the waitress for his name, she responded, you dont need to know that and Im not giving it to you. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
I have been going to Lunettas since I was a teenager and the quality is the same now as it was then. My husband and I love that they still use fresh lettuce leaves and not that shredded garbage that many other sub shops use. Their selection of menu items is nice and not overwhelming.
I was past over no one asked to take my order.. until I call and asked why wasnt I served. They told me cause I was on the phone. Yet no one made contact to say we will take your order after your phone call. Nor is there any signs up saying we do not take orders while customers on there phone. When I asked to speak to the manager she was unprofessional and told me was my fault and hung up on me. Turbo customer service terrible manager skills dealing with situations and problems and honestly I felt like it was a cultural thing.
Most of the things I’ve ordered are good... chicken finger sub, beer battered fries, garlic bread, German potato salad... but EVERY. SINGLE. TIME we order for pickup they tell us 25 mins and it is ALWAYS at least 10 minutes longer..sometimes a lot longer. I don’t find this ok. I get one or two times...not every time. Maybe fix your system or something...it’s not worth it to go to a place where you get aggravated each time.
I very recently Revisited Lunettas Restaurant in Cheektowaga and though the food and the service was outstanding i was very disappointed when i received my bill ......... I was with my Elderly Mother and we both ordered the Cheese Burgers with Bacon... L&T&O ........which said on the menu ...... the waitress told me that this particular Burger was quite big for an Elderly person and told us they have a smaller burger which might be better for her (absolutely) ....... but never told us the every single topping ...1small piece of lettuce and 1 sliced tomato and 1 slice of onion are additional costs ....... Come on people really ?? Its a Burger !!! Not only that I finished my glass of Unsweetened Ice tea and she asked if i like a refill but failed to tell me it is the same cost of another cup !!!! Outrageous !!! For a refill ??? well needless to say they have lost steady customers ............. Nickel and Diming you to death is Crazy ...... Like i Said before .....Food was Delicious and the service was great but all these extra charges are just Ridiculous...... If you ever go there make sure you ask the waitress if there is a charge for every little thing you order because they sure wont tell you till you see your bill ....... For my personal feeling there are plenty other places around there to go ..... sorry don;t mean to offend anyone but thats how i feel !!!!
This restaurant has a little bit of everything theyre half pound burger is over-the-top my wife likes the Italian food they have I often stop there for soup and sandwich I have never had a bad meal there yet its a really clean place, and the food is always cooked to your likings
Went in on Saturday night. Ordered a Bacon Burger and a Steak Sub. Food took to long to come out of the kitchen. Server was nice but slow, I think she was covering the whole dining room and counter alone as I dont remember seeing the other lady who was born the floor come around to tables.
Lunettas is a great place..Wednesdays and Sundays are turkey days..Turkey bacon subs ..to die for....had apple pie alamode...had to send it back,, the ice cream was cold....Tony,karen and Patty...Stop in and tell them Joe Cheese sent you.....Banana cream pie?????Im on a diet.....

2022-05-06We ordered a pizza and sandwich and they were both terrible. Pizza had no sauce, burnt and cold. The sandwich had everything we asked not to add, along with missing the actual turkey to the turkey sub. Thirty dollars in the trash.

2018-04-17Ordered pizza and a grilled chicken sandwich. The pizza was done right. Not burned on top or bottom. Taste was good too. I really liked the grilled chicken sandwich. Chicken was hanging off the roll with enough lettuce and tomato. The chicken was grilled on an open flame which made it have the taste of it being made on an outdoor grill.

2021-03-02I ordered food for take out on a Friday around 6:15. Now, I understand it is lent season and a Friday and figured we would have to wait maybe an hour, totally reasonable. I was told by the staff that our order would be ready at 7:20. Thinking that maybe it would be ready a bit earlier, we arrived around 7:10. I pull up and see a huge line, but figured it would go fast, it’s just a pizza place. I was very wrong. So I go stand in the line, 5 minutes passes, then 10, 15, line has not moved. After waiting 45 minutes in the cold and the line moving only a couple inches I was fed up. We could see our food in the window sitting but we were not allowed inside and had to wait out turn. Even if we did finally get our food, I don’t want a soggy, cold fish fry. We left, and ordered elsewhere. Highly disappointing.

2021-03-01Always a favorite place to go. Delicious and wide variety of items to order up. Consistently great quality! My family, for 4 generations, has always enjoyed Lunettas to this day! My Grandparents were the first customers in the early 60s!
