The food is truly amazing. Unfortunately thats it. The hostesses seem to hate their jobs except for 1 of them. Away on business so dining alone and mostly ignored at the sushi bar. A chef hitting on the 2 girls next to me gave them the same appetizer I paid $25 for as a freebie. I would highly recommend the food as delivery and avoid the scene
I had an amazing dining experience at Lure Fishbar. It was my first time visiting and it was recommended to me by multiple people to check out. I made a same day reservation for 5:30pm and was able to get seated immediately. The hostess was pleasant and greeted me with a smile. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the vibe is upbeat which I love. The waiter took my order almost immediately and also gave his opinion on my dinner choice. I decided to go with the tuna crispy rice and the crab bucatini. The crispy rice was just ok having had it at other places before but the crab bucatini is to die for. So flavorful! I cannot wait to come back with friends!
This review is based on the waitress not the food. The atmosphere and food was fantastic. We received our second round of drinks on the house to make up for the time we had to wait for the food to come out, which was very much appreciated by the gentlemen who is bald and had a dark blazer on. We had the tuna tacos and oysters as an appetizer and scallops and stuff lobster for our entree. Amazingly delicious.Regarding the service from our waitress was terrible. She was not attentive to our table what so ever. Not sure why, but the only time she came to our table to ask if everything was okay was when we received our dessert, yes our dessert! 2.5 hours later. Not once did she communicate with us about our plates and ask us if we need anything etc…If it wasn’t for the Latin Bus boy and the gentlemen with the blazer on we would had a terrible night. I have been there before and I love this place but because of this waitress, the female with pale skin and reddish hair, I do not want to go back unfortunately. She made me feel as if I was not worthy of her time or she probably thought I wasn’t going to tip her good because we are Spanish Americans. I felt stereotyped by this waitress.
Oysters were delicious and sushi tasted fresh. Our server was great but was swamped due to staff shortage so took forever to finally take our food order. They will not serve Restaurant Week Menu unless the whole table participates which we were not told till we tried to order which turned into a frustrating mess.
Came here for my birthday and had a blast the ambiance is great! Although the dress code is hella confusing. But it seems people just wore what they felt comfortable in.Food is crazy good! The pastas where probably my favorite. Specifically the uni pasta. But its hard to miss when choosing a dish. Not your weekly type dinner place unless youve got the funds, but every once in a while and you like the vibe.
Oysters with caviar AMAZING must try if oyster lover. Salum the shucker is on point. Everything else was delicious: deviled eggs with caviar, hellfire roll, octopus, Hamachi crispy sushi rice 😊🤟🏾pasta with crab meat and sea urchin... Luigi and Olivia were good attentive waiter/waitress this is my new fave spot. Pricey depending on your pockets but worth it. FYI, I dined alone & treated myself
Was going to give 4 stars, but Oren the manager turned it around and made it a 5 star. I am pretty much a regular to this place the drinks are absolutely amazing. We came in this time for quick drinks and a snack ordered tea time and bloody mary royale and right on point. Bloody Mary comes with a colossal shrimp and an oyster shooter. Must try! And ordered the shrimp tempura which is delicious but took FOREVER To come it was after we finished drinks. As mentioned Oren the manager on floor really turned it around paying special attention and he even comped it. This place is a NYC staple and a definite to try place. Fresh sea food, great atmosphere and hope they’ll be around another 100 years.
We dined here for restaurant week and came especially for the decor. As an avid cruiser not be able to cruise during the pandemic, the decor of this restaurant brought back memories of being inside a ship. My friend and I enjoyed our meals and lychee lemonades. The only thing- even though it was restaurant week, the portions were on the smaller side. I definitely expected our meals to be a bit bigger as Ive had in other restaurants for the same price. I also wanted to shout out our server who was a complete sweetheart. I had mentioned in conversation the I was having an ongoing toothache but was a trooper for coming after rescheduling so many times. She went as far as finding out if they have any tylenol in case I needed it. She kept checking on me asking how I was holding up. Great customer service and refreshing!
Our first time here on our trip and it was not a good experience and we do not recommend to others. Came here on a monday night and made a reservation for 8pm. When we arrived it was super packed indoors and the host said itll be a few more minutes and we should hang out at the bar. We opted to wait by the door since we dont drink alcohol on empty stomach.20mins later and we checked back in. Still not ready and I asked for an estimate and the answer is sorry I dont know. No one is leaving. It makes me wonder how they manage tables and ways to gently get guests moving. The host didnt suggest alternatives like the open tables they have outside. I had to ask if theres any available. She promised theres lots of heaters but they separated the table for us to the far corner. Which is not covered by the heater and it was a weak heater.Anyway, seeing how packed indoors it was, we expected the food would take longer to come out. Our server was fine in terms of checking in. But didnt offer us to take the table right under the heater even though we expressed we were cold. He was saving it for a potential customer that never filled.Food was just ok. I think they ran out of brioche bun for lobster roll because the server just said itll come with a potato bun. He didnt say why and just said it would taste the same. It doesnt taste the same and the buns werent even toasted. Lobster tasted bland. We also got a crab + sea urchin pasta. Theres at least 1.5 worth of crab meat but it also tastes bland... Server also put in the wrong order for hamachi appetizer when I pointed at menu and said kampachi 4 times. I left my phone at the seat and realized it about 20mins later. Called the restaurant and the host said she went to look and asked servers to check and didnt find it. I saw the location of phone didnt move so we went back right away. Found it right on the seat. Again, it was not busy by then so they are just not keen on customer service.
This is one cool place, atmosphere-wise. The decor makes you feel like youre in the captains personal dining room. So much fun.The staff is very nice and helpful. The food is fresh, good and tasty. They have lots of options and all are interesting. BUT, its not a great place to eat (judging by the price), most dishes felt ordinary.I would give one advice to diners, if you take the oysters, ask them undressed (no sauces or dressing) just lemon - they over-thought oysters.
This is my second time visiting this restaurant. Love the seafood. I have so far tried some sushi rolls which were very fresh. For mains I’ve had had the fill grilled fish, apart from having a lot of scales, it was very tasty. I have also had the steamed red snapper which comes with a nice red Thai sauce. The cocktails are also amazing, I really recommend the smoke and trouble. I would not recommend this place for vegetarians. Although, my girlfriend is vegetarian and upon talking to the manager, the chef did make a special pasta dish for her, which was very nice of them.
Great ambiance! Just like eating inside a luxury yacht. The food was ok. A little bit pricey for what it is but I guess it is soho. I recommend Oceans restaurant from a food perspective. However, I do highly recommend the kanpachi sashimi. It was my favorite dish. The crispy sushi rice (spicy tuna) was also quite nice but Ama raw bar does it better. The sea urchin bucatini was ok. They give you a generous portion of crab meat in the dish. Unfortunately though the flavor of the pasta wasn’t too impressive (tasted like - bit of toasted garlic mixed with salt).I don’t recommend the tuna tacos. It simply tasted like raw tuna and avocado mixed together without sauce. I also don’t recommend the ice cream sandwich. The flavours are very artificial
Great experience! Fun, cozy, romantic atmosphere like youre in a yacht and the culinary art is exquisite. Try the crispy rice and we LOVED the crispy Asian snapper for 2. They also have great wine and a knowledgeable wine guy to give you good suggestions and tastings. But its all about the fresh fish and its phenomenal what they do with the flavors.
The firsts were presented really beautifully and were very tasty. I had the salmon for dinner and it was perfectly cooked and served. Cocktails were great as well.Beyond the great food, the service was really nice. We sat outside and one of our party did not have a jacket and looked a bit uncomfortable, the waiter offered a warm blanket which was a great touch.
Christian was by far the best server I’ve ever had at Lure Fishbar, which is saying a lot as I frequent this restaurant. He personalized the experience and offered suggestions that completed elevated our dinner. I told him that this was my first time drinking red wine and his recommendations were top tier!I can confidently say Christian will provide any patron the best dining experience they have and will ever have!
4/5 simply because we did not sample any cooked fish. The deluxe raw bar tower was delicious; downfall was the restaurant running out of crab legs and not informing us ahead of time, instead they substituted with extra oysters including 3 specialty oysters with pineapple garnish. Sushi rolls were cery fresh. The deep dish cookie dessert with toffee was delicious!
We just had the BEST hamburger at a...seafood place?! Yup, so dang deelish!! Lure gets great reviews for their burgers (as well as all their seafood) & we had the hankerin for a burger so gave it a go. What a cool spot; kinda old school, clubby, semi sub-terranian in what feels like the coolest ship ever. Great cocktails, great vibe on this Sunday at the bar there were lots of cool people of all types all having a good time. Love the vibe, the people, the BURGER and our servers were very very nice - David & Stephanie. Wel run back here the next time were in NYC. Go!
Great food and great theme (designed like your on a boat) but when this place is busy it’s a madhouse. Reservations are over committed so there is a long wait to sit and for the food. That being said, every single item on their menu is delicious and I’ll be coming back again and again.
Came for lunch on a Monday, around 1pm, shouldn’t be too busy right? It wasn’t, plenty of empty tables but it took them 20 minutes to seat us, 20 minutes to finish ordering everything, and I’m sitting here after an hour with no food in sight, might as well skip dinner
The waiter got everything wrong by: (1) confusing appetizers with entrees; (2) bringing 2 salads when we only ate 1 -we obviously returned it but the waiter still charged it; (3) forgetting to bring ALL of the sides. The worst part is that he didn’t care and was shameless about all of the above.
We thank the Manager and Chef for having a conversation with a 16-year-old boy about Oysters. They helped make him feel confident enough to try a food 5 mins earlier he scoffed at. He came back to the table a different person than when he left. He felt so accomplished and was smiling the rest of the day!
3 * for noisey noisy, noisy, noisy... what more can I say? OH Yeah, the food was superb! Really above all everything we ordered which included most items on the limited menu was excellent!Full disclosure: wait services were a bit slow(expected under the circumstances) the wine sommelier, was hard to get to help when the waitress couldnt recommend an alternative bottle for the one Lure was out of stock. That was a bit annoying at$100p/bot. Couldnt even get a refill for a coke...Oh well other than the cafeteria level of noice and panting for a drink this place is nicely set up like your on an expensive yacht, eating delicious sushi, rolls, apps., oysters on the half, nice branzino, red snapper, sea urchins, e.t.c. all superb! Youll have to decide if its worth the price...
I am so glad I found Lure Fishbar for date night! The music, food, and ambiance is amazing, and the staff was completely gracious. Especially the manager Mike who surprised us with ice-cream after I didnt want to look at the desert menu because of my diet lol. This place is a hidden gem💎!
Very cool vibe! After work drink at the bar on a Friday night waiting for my wife to have dinner. Perfect Margarita!! Sat down right on time and was tended to right away but didnt feel rushed. Perfect sushi order, deviled eggs and special sushi rolls followed by bronzini on a bed of whipped potatoes (not too much) and fresh spinach! Wife had the lobster roll and it was perfect. Great atmosphere, done in a nautical theme like the inside of a yacht but not overdone in a tacky way at all. They care about service and had frequent checkins by staff. we will be back!
Five star - their fish is on point 🤷♀️And the restaurant itself is so unique! It resembles the inside of a cruise ship. So fun and such a great idea.I will say it is arguably a bit overpriced but they deliver so it is worth the splurge. We went during COVID and felt very comfortable inside.
Be careful with this place!!!!I was in your restaurant on April 30 at night. When she brought us the account, I completed the tip amount, but my account summary received a different amount. I ask you to proceed to correct this error and take the corresponding measures. I await your prompt reply. Cheers
Service was non-existent. Ordered fries that never came, asked for a glass of ice which also never came. Was brought a different glass of wine that what was ordered. However, appetizers were tasty all things considered. Entrees took 45 minutes to come out and were cold and sub-par. Waiter never asked if we wanted dessert. Wouldn’t recommend.
The space is unique, transporting you to the sea with its yacht-like interior. Its quite loud though, so I dont recommend it for a quiet, romantic evening. The hamachi crudo was refreshing. Cant say the bash burger was award-winning in my book, but it was a good burger.
Upon entering, you feel like you descended into the main cabin of a yacht. The round windows on the top and wood ceiling with nautical plaid makes you feel like the whole restaurant is at sea. I think this is one of my favorite decorated restaurants. The ambiance is 5 stars but the food was a little bit less then what I expected.I came for restaurant week and tried the clam chowder and salmon tartare for appetizer. Both were delicious and I could eat it again over and over. Now the lure burger with the works was one of my favorite burgers, very good for a restaurant with a seafood theme. However the miso glazed salmon was a bit dry and the nori crusted tuna was slightly fishy tasting. I can’t see myself eating these 2 dishes again. The burger without a doubt I would come back for anytime! Finally, the dessert, pistachio layer cake and chocolate mousse. Super basic desserts, there’s no Pizazz in these desserts. I can order these at a deli or grocery store. Also service was a bit slow, a couple walked in after us and finished everything before we got our checks while we sat down 1 hr before them.I would say the lure burger is only reason I would come back to Lure and perhaps the salmon tartare.
This place makes you feel like youre on the lower deck of a fabulous yacht. But thats where the excitement stops. Our server was great. They have a tasty Sancerre, and the sushi was fresh. The salmon had a few undercooked spots. Yuck. If I wanted raw salmon I wouldve got sashimi. The crusted tuna had absolutely no flavor. I basically left most of the food on the plate. Would only go back if someone else was paying, and I would only get sushi.
I found this restaurant while walking around in the village. It was a great find!! We loved the decor and lively crowd. The food was delicious!! Best crab cakes I ve had in years I ordered them twice!! The sushi roll was perfect the salmon was very fresh and tasty. Will definitely go back!
I love how great management is. Let me start there. Unfortunately due to covid and what’s going on they didn’t have what I originally wanted to order, which was fish. So we settled for steak. My waiter was the bomb. He tried his best to please me. My fiancé got the salmon which he swallowed in one gulp so I know it was good. I got ny steak. It came out way too over cooked. When they re made it, it was way too under cooked. I asked for medium well which I know is hard to accommodate but it’s the only way I eat my steak. The manager on duty, a cute girl, came over and pretty much comp my drinks and had the back make me a sea bass which wasn’t even on the menu.... the sea bass was the best I ever had. I am thankful for the help it took to create the perfect meal for me. They even came back and gave me a warmed huge cookie as an apology. The service makes this place completely worth it. Not to mention the deviled eggs topped with oysters.
Lure Fishbar went above and beyond our expectations. Not only was the food incredible but the service level was just as exceptional. It also helps that the establishment itself is unique with its charming nautical vibe. Lure is a bustling restaurant that can accommodate a couple or lively family get-together.We will surely be returning here to explore the rest of the menu. The staff helped us navigate and decide between menu options but there was so much left for us to try on the next time we visit. Lure Fishbar is a place that attracts a crowd for good reason; it executes well in both food and service and not only keeps up with the finest seafood establishments but pulls its weight in the burger territory as well (a must try).Props and thank you to Camilo, our waiter, who helped us navigate the menu and ensure we have an awesome experience.Eat:Deviled EggsSnow CrabsKushi Oysters with Jalapeño PonzuHellfire RollTuna TacosThe Bash BurgerIce Cream Sandwiches
The setting, the service, the food, the location. Everything is 5/5. Except the price haha its quite expensive. But totally worth it. The best thing if all was the cookie brownie. Like icing on the cake. Or better, like the symphony of an opera, it just kept getting better. Must must must go if in nyc. Got to make reservations as it usually booked a week or two in advance
The staff in this establishment are not held to any standard of service to their patrons. The quality of the food in no way compensates for this. Not only did I have the displeasure of being almost stabbed in the eye with the bigoted hostesss pinkie pointing at me as I entered, a staff member affected or ordered to so slapped the bottom of my chair as they passed by, in a directly harassing gesture.I politely waited an unconscionable length of time for a dish that never arrived (from 7:40-8:10). When asked as to its whereabouts, the restaurants associate manager Andrew gaslit me repeatedly, saying that I had somehow imagined my order, insulted me, and even yelled at my face, his mask sagging under his nose to the point where he was almost spitting into my eyes. The oysters are overpriced, the sushi is mishandled, the dishes are uninspiring, the food and sauces are worse than any least maintained diner in the city. It also does not seem as if the employees are even treated with equitable dignity, which is completely unsurprising given the level of belligerent ignorance with which they mistreat their patrons. The only thing that this place can boast of is its superficial ambiance. Of course I should have realized not to enter a tourist trap. This establishment deserves to be held accountable for its repeated, absolutely prosecutable, abuses towards its customers. This kind of treatment towards any patron is an atrocity. No one should have to experience this level of degradation, harassment, verbal physical abuse and denigration in any context, much less whilst paying to enjoy a rare Sunday dinner outside.
Absolute disgrace.Booked for 8:00 PM, waited for 20 minutes. The place was packed, no one was wearing masks including the manager and the doorman. After waiting for 25 minutes, we were yelled at that we need to clear the entrance.Food is mediocre. Service is horrible. The manager is disgusting.Used to be a regular. Will never come back.
The Food here is exceptional!! Best Sushi ever! The food is FRESH AND DELICIOUS!! Christian our waiter was the BEST. If you go to the Sushi bar to eat- Sergio is an AWESOME Sushi-easta! Andrew is an Awesome Manager, the front staff is Excellent!!! The 3 security guards - before you enter the Restaurant were Wonderful!!! I would recommend this place to any and everyone!! Exceptional Excellent!! Bar None!! The Ambiance is so serene you’ll think that you are in your Living room with friends.
Excellent food. Very overpriced for the portions.$5 for iced tea or cranberry juice...come on... rip off.Deviled eggs were excellent..but $20... again come on,ugh. Salmon, scallops...$42 for 5 scallops... Ugh... and red snapper were delicious.Very attentive staff, service.5 stars for the food, but take away for the excessive price for portions.
I was so excited to come here. had a reservation i made hours in advance and when i got here the lady said she closed reservations even though I had a confirmation email. I work in a corporate office for a restaurant business and never would closing reservations allow people to continue making reservations and if it did we would immediately accommodate for the inconvenience. The hostess was extremely rude and cutting us off to try to get us to shutup even though we were being very polite. We sat at the bar and waited an hour to be seated. Do not go here and waste ur time. We sat at the bar the 2 males bartenders were super great but once we sat to eat we were rushed by the servers because they were closing soon. We were so excited to try lots of things on the menu but were not able to do to the rushed service. Awful service theres a reason Forbes hasn’t named them in the restaurant guide since 2011. Also for a high class place the hostess was dressed….messy.
We have been going to Lure for years and it absolutely never disappoints! My daughter has worked in SoHo for nearly 20 years and Lure has consistently been our first choice for lunches together. As well as several special occasions with friends. The ambience inside as fabulous and now the outside setup is excellent and well protected from the street. We usually have sushi - Lure is the first place I ever had crispy sushi! The rolls are fresh and creative as are the cocktails. Truly excellent!
Terrible service, rude staff that are trying too hard to make improper jokes. Hardly speak and comprehend English, point at you as if asking “is this dish for you?”, very slow, push your chair when you’re eating, never apologize, speak with a smirk and arrogance. The doorman at the entry (sorry, don’t know his name) is very rude and speaks way too loud, doesn’t know how to be polite and pleasant to the customers. Apparently nobody cares about the untrained staff with dubious upbringing and education. Mediocre food.
So many good things to say about this place. First off, the atmosphere is amazing, it really does feel like you are eating on a boat. The crispy sushi rice appetizer was out of this world, as was the red snapper which was cooked perfectly and laid on a bed of greens in a perfect sauce. The dessert selection was excellent and the wine great. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Delicious food, amazing ambiance, quick service and friendly waitress!! I got the miss glazed salmon which was delicious! The decor of this place is beautiful and atmosphere is chill. The sushi was also pretty great and they give seasoned chips with cream cheese which like OMG WHAT delicious. Ill be back!!!
Terrible service. Management does not care and food is mediocre.I seldom leave reviews but this one is necessary. We waited 1 hour for our food. Appetizers and entrees arrived at the same time. Key components of food did not come until we asked 3 different servers (soy sauce for your sushi rolls..?). Even after speaking to manager and server there was no acknowledgement of the situation or how to remedy. Food waals okay not great. And as a side note all drinks (including vodka martini) tasted watered down. Plus super high $$$ check. Spend your money elsewhere where you will get the value you deserve.
I dont have enough positive words to say about this restaurant. The staff, especially Mariah and David, were amazing and made it a wonderful experience. The oysters were the best Ive ever had and Ive shucked shellfish myself off the Rhode Island shore. We shared several appetizers and they were all out of this world. Crab cakes, edamame, home-made chips, deviled eggs, and fish tacos, I couldnt recommend them all enough. The drink selection was phenomenal as well, we enjoyed some champagne and sake at the recommendation of Mariah and she knows her stuff, they went perfectly with the meal. If you dont stop here you are severely missing out.
Very nice place food is very good .Had brunchwith girlfriends. Both had an omelette with cremini mushrooms and salad, I had the breakfast sandwich which had sausage egg cheese on brioche with maple butter. We had a side of children sausage and just because they looked so good at another table, we ordered a side of fries... Delish .I only took one picture of the drink my friend had 😳 it was an interesting drink .My problem is the waiters keep asking are we done ...a bit annoying . I can understand if people were waiting for tables but this was not the case. Overall its a nice place .
Youre now four for four perfect visits. Lure feels like such a magical place where everything is simple and perfect. Visually stunning. Hopping with activity. Excellent service. And complex intense flavors in the simple fresh foods & cocktails, including dessert. Love it! We will continue to come back.
Was ok. Fish was nice. The famous burger?! Was absolutely terrible. It was so bland I was incredibly surprised after hearing about it so often. It was just boring, already smothered in ketchup. I honestly have had better in Mac Donald’s, I really don’t get the hype??Other than that the staff were friendly, it’s got a very nice decor and busy vide. Worth checking out if you’re visiting but not because you heard about the burger 😁
They are doing the best they can. Solid menu but supplies are limited...something that’s an issue globally. It was frustrating with the wait times but the staff is doing all they can. I need to give some more grace sometimes during these challenging times. I was pretty hard on the staff. I was there to celebrate with my son and he was getting hungry and it was taking way longer than we had planned. I was wrong in being so entitled and showing a total lack of grace for the situation. Alyssa was our server and she was fantastic. I’m sorry I was difficult to deal with. I own that part and hope things get better.
Went here for dinner tonight. The only available outdoor reservation was 10 pm. Note to restaurant, if you are going to offer late reservations and then be under pressure to close, make your timing known to patrons upfront. After finishing dinner, I ordered another drink and was told that it was past last call. When you are implementing last call, it is a good idea to tell the patrons dining late that last call is at X pm. I was able to get the drink after being pointed about not being informed about last call. Was in the process of paying the check when the lights were turned out. Again, not the way to do things. If the restaurant will be closing in x minutes, just say so. Turning the lights out on patrons is the rudest, worst customer service imaginable. The food was ok, the prices were premium. Service must be on par with pricing. I expected better.
Its kinda appropriately located, and the bar is a fun place to hang outThe above is from the say something nice about the place school of reviews. OTOH, if you want humorously brusque service, over-oily food, and wines at inappropriate temperatures, well my friend, *this* is the place to go! (Oh, the prices are extraordinarily high too - mains at $30 and up)So yeah, dont bother going (really, the service is *stunningly* bad - the plates slammed on the tables, the waiters who - literally - refused to make eye-contact, the list goes on...)
We had an especially horrible experience here. The bar staff was surprisingly rude and lost one of our credit cards. When we showed them proof that the card had been charge at the bar but never returned they proceeded to blame us even though we made efforts to show that our purses and pockets did not contain the card in question. Mysteriously, after about 40 minutes the bar staff found our card “in the bathroom” even though many of our party had just been there and not seen the card. After being obviously In the wrong the bar staff aggressively tried to kick us out of the bar, which was alarming given we had remained calm, inquisitive and persistent throughout the evening. I’m vastly disappointed in the nature of the individuals that have the misfortune of calling themselves employees of this establishment.
Our experience was wonderful as always! I give it a 5 as I can’t hold it against the restaurant that they are still short staffed. The exception was our Server. Extremely untimely and helping us organize our dinner with the kitchen closed prior to our ordering and then she gave us 2 minutes to decide. Only to get our food within minutes and rushed to desert. Of course, not asking about after dinner drinks to which we asked and were told ; sorry the bars closed. Not a very warm service for the night. Our sommelier, Brian was amazing!!! None the less, we love your establishment, atmosphere, and food!!!
The hostess was so unbelievably rude. For a nice establishment like this, you’d think management would train their staff better. After waiting almost 20 minutes to be seen by a waiter we left and went somewhere else where their staff was more hospitable and human. Such a disappointment. Lure Management - train your front of house staff better. They should be ashamed.
I have been coming to this restaurant with my family for sometimes now since 2012.We ordered sushi and it didn’t taste fresh and my whole family got sick. I contacted the restaurant multiple times and got complete nonsense for an answer. The assistant GM told me that the Chef is knowledgeable in medical symptoms and we could not get sick three hours after eating at the Lure. I guess he is also a doctor 😊That was my last time....eating at the Lure
Great ambiance inside, from the music to the decor to the overall vibes. Definitely a scene on a Saturday.Has a “scene” premium on pricing, similar to meatpacking places like Catch.Food was quite good, if slightly overpriced. Scallops were excellent, as was the snapper.Tuna tacos were good, but the shell was too fried. Rainbow roll was a little small and bland for the price.Service was slow, but the restaurant was BUSY at 9:30pm on Saturday, and the food arrived promptly after ordering.4 stars for good food and ambiance with a star lost for slow(ish) service and the prices being a little high.
My first time visiting Lure as one of the best seafood restaurants in NYC, and definitely the last. We spent nearly 300$ for dinner and got mediocre pasta,3 drinks, and 3 hand rolls that looked and tasted worse then from my local Chinese restaurant and costed 23$ each. We left hungry and disappointed.
Friend made a reservation. There were plenty of other empty nicer tables by the front but we were seated in the far corner outdoors that smelled like cigarettes & a random pedestrian suddenly sat right by us, sprawling his personal things by us. One of us has asthma which worsens with cigarettes. We asked if we could be moved, but the response was that all the other tables were reserved. We emphasized we had made a reservation as well but our waiter just repeated that phrase and told us to talk to the hostess. Hence, we asked to speak to the hostess or manager but neither ever came. We then walked up to the hostess and asked the same question, and was given the response that those empty tables were reserved for “reservations or people who know the owner”. We said we’d leave, and only then did the hostess say that she would try to see what she could do….
This restaurant is so charming. Underground in soho, the inside is build like a sail boat with windows above to see shoppers walk by.All the staff was super friendly and everything was well kept and very clean.I’d recommend the Lychee martini and oysters. Happy hour has been paused/ cancelled due to covid so it’s a bit pricey.Great spot for a date!
Made a reservation for 4:45 for inside. We came in and the Blond Hostess gave us a table in the middle of the room. The place was half empty. We asked to be seated at one the the 4 booths that were available. She said that they were reserved. We then asked to be seated at one the 3 corner tables that were available, she said that those were also reserved. We sat at the table she gave us. 2 hours later when we were done, there were 5 booths and 3 corner tables available. When I asked why she did that, she had a dumb look on her face and didnt answer. Great way to make sure we never come again! Its workers like this that can kill a business!
Had high hopes for this place from the crowds whenever I walked by which is maybe why it made it so much more disappointing. The app (tuna tartar) and side (lobster mac and cheese) were consistently salty while the entrees (tuna and salmon dishes) lacked proper seasoning. I guess if you ate everything together, it would have made a well balanced gumbo of sorts 🤷🏻♀️
Overall this is a high-end seafood restaurant with decent quality food but other factors really let it down. Pretty chaotic vibes but stunning decor in a summer-boat theme. We were seated half an hour late for our reservation, we didnt get food for a subsequent hour, nor did our server come to our table for about 15 minutes after seating.
This was the absolute best dining experience I have ever had in New York City. I will note - I have lived here for many years. The food, the experience, the ambiance, the amazing wait staff - I could go on and on. It was truly a privilege to dine here, and even a bigger privilege to shake the chef’s hand and thank him. All I can say is WOW!
Went for NYC Restaurant Week lunch and the food and service was amazing! Tried the salmon tartare appetizer and it was sooo good as long as you don’t mind a kick of spice! For the entree the miso glazed salmon was cooked to perfection! Also shared the dynamite roll because I’m a sushi lover, definitely one of the best places in the city to get sushi, so fresh and yummy! Also had the grilled octopus appetizer (I can’t remember the name on the menu) which was tasty but slightly over cooked. Still five stars because of how well the service and food was.
I came here with a party of 8 for my girlfriends birthday. We had a reservation for weeks, but we’re seated 30 minutes late, while influencers and famous people walked in front of us without reservations.Once we sat down we were asked about allergies, we mentioned a cilantro allergy, yet, our first dish came with cilantro in it.Was almost impossible to call over the waiter for any reason, whether it be drinks, food, or water. We were also told we had to order everything at once, so we did.Our food took over 2 hours (literally, no exaggeration). After about 1 hour and 45 minutes of waiting, we asked to cancel our order, the waiter was visibly upset with us after this and began ignoring us, 20 minutes later the food came, and the we said “we cancelled this”, they started putting it on our table anyway. The waiter came back over and said “so you guys want it? Or you still want to cancel” with our food now on the table!!! He said if you still want to cancel we will just throw it in the garbage”We said, we cancelled this 20 minutes ago, he said “okay, we’ll throw it all out” and stormed away with the food. The bill finally came after waiting another 30 minutes, everything on the bill. Needless to say, we will never be returning. The few appetizers that we did get were incorrect, not fresh, and mediocre. The service was awful, would’ve been better at McDonalds.Avoid this restaurant like the plague.
I love Lure Fishbar. The service is great, the staff are friendly and the food is excellent. I only wish their cocktail menu was a little more exciting. Overall you can always count on them. Great place with a fine ambiance. People watching is very good and the tables provide comfortable space.
Came here for lunch one day, enjoyed it so much- came back for drinks and food another night. Their outside seating area is done up well with heaters. The ambience is nice, wish I got to experience before Covid restrictions. Their sushi is on point and I highly recommend their cheesecake for dessert.
Came here to take visiting pescatarian Brits for a special dinner. The maitre d, was fun and helpful at first , providing blankets for the cold (we ate outside, and there were heaters), however, it quickly became apparent that the people outside were at a disadvantage. We waited almost 30 mins for our entree, with snappy comebacks from the maitre d that bordered on condescension. As I am British too, but have lived here for years, I recognized it as us being treated as a stereotype and because we were British, didnt quite get it. The manager came to our table, brought there by the same over-reaching maitre d, who had told him we were dissatisfied with our food. We were not; the food was actually delicious. It was the lack of quick service and the arrogance of the maitre d that left us with a bad taste. As a manager, I dont like people to be upbraided in front of their work peers or superiors. But I was a little surprised and annoyed at the maitre ds over familiarity and lack of decorum.
What an awesome experience !! The restaurant was very beautiful, extremely clean and the staff was beyond excellent and friendly. !! The food cooked to perfection !! The wait time from ordering to receiving my meal was extremely timely ! I look 4ward to seeing you all again and my best wishes to everyone ! You were all wonderful !! ❤
I love lure and have been multiple times, but I cancelled a reservation a week in advance and they charged me $100. There is no place on their website or in their reservation scheduler that mentions a $100 charge for EARLY cancellations.Scammy business practices.UPDATE:They were super friendly and issued a full refund. Sounds like there was an issue with their scheduling technology.
So glad to be back at our favorite restaurant in NYC with indoor dining! Em and Lauren greeted us and quickly and easily fixed a misunderstanding with our reservation we had with booking online. Miguel our server was so attentive and awesome. Miss this professional team and amazing food! So awesome to be back!!!
Ambience and music were great! I ordered lunch and a cocktail at the bar. Service was stellar. I wanted more non-sushi seafood options. I settled on a couple of dim sun dishes and they were pleasant. My cocktail was the Summer Breeze or Dream. Very tasty. It was strawberry flavored but not overly sweet. Very balanced and nice size for the price. I will definitely return.
Likely the worst sushi on a dollar per dollar basis Ive had in NYC. I asked the waiter whether the sushi here was omakase style pre-seasoned. She told me yes. There was no seasoning in the sushi at all and it was a very blame nigiri for salmon, low grade tuna, and white fish that I couldve gotten for $20 anywhere in NYC as opposed to paying $80s here.We also had a 2 hours wait for our food to come out which was shocking. The one redeeming feature is that their seafood tower was quite large. We got the biggest one for a table of 8 and we couldnt finish it.
We had reservations but ran 30 mins late and they still sat us almost immediately. The staff was very attentive, always filling out glasses and multiple ppl not just our waiter would ask if we were ok. I recommend the charred octopus and the Alaskan snapper, dinner was delicious. We ordered the molten lava cake to share which was good but the size was very small, not the best for sharing.
Been there many times and its always amazing. From the cocktails to the food everything is great. I always wish that I had more room in my stomach so that I could order more. The prices are worth it. The ambiance is really nice. It feels like youre in an old ship, but a very nice old ship. I would definitely recommend. Pricy, but worth it. Need to impress the in-laws? This is a good place.
One of the best seafood restaurants in the city. The decor is reflective of an actual boat, which sets high expectations of their seafood. Fortunately, they deliver on each expectation! The choice of oysters are all great and the wine list is broad yet well thought through. Plenty of entrees to choose from and all delicious. I spent some time at the bar while i was there too. They make excellent drinks. Wish the bar wasnt as crowded. The staff was also very considerate and worked hard for us. Overall great dining experience, would totally come back.
The ambiance of this place is amazing. The menu is customizable for everyone. They have options for everyone. The drinks and food was pretty amazing ans thr service was great. The attendant always was checking on us and definitely a place i will be back and highly recommended as well.
Disappointing dishes. My wife wanted the steak and only the 16 ounce was available . When her steak came it really was at best an 8 ounce steak. The lobster macaroni and cheese was made with oversized rigatoni which was plain and almost tasteless with the lobster being chewy; by the way their first attempt the dish was brought cold. The lobster fra diablo presentation was as if a kid had made the pasta in a thick pasty pink sauce, just not what I expected. Ive been here a couple of times before and find their quality and service has deteriorated.
Great service + wonderful waitstaff. Thats the best part. The food was uneven at best, the lobster was overcooked + the entire menu is grossly overpriced. On top of it, the website displays a happy hour menu that is not offered despite making reservations for that time. A big disappointment. We wont return
This place is so expensive! My husband and I went for the first time. The atmosphere is nice. The people were friendly. The food was very expensive for the amount they give you. Almost 40.00 for a very small amount of food. I ordered the steamed red snapper. It came with a quarter piece of fish( not even half) a teaspoon of rice and 4 bok choy veg. My husband ordered the Branzino fish. He had 3 very small pieces and a teaspoon of mash potatoes. You ask, how do you give a teaspoon of rice? Well, Lure restaurant has found a way. Dinner came to 171.00 and they added 24.00 on the bill for covid relief. Definitely not enough food!!!
After waiting for over an hour for our appetisers (and only getting one of them) - our entrees arrived at the same time..... I think if our waiter was not so busy flirting with the girls that gave him a banksy poster and he offered them free dishes we would maybe have had the chance to get our food in order and on time. The 4 tables that sat on both sides to us got to the restaurant after us and they were all served before us.... The waiter came with excuses that the sushi bar is overwhelmed... However all the other tables abovementioned got their sushi way ahead of us...A horrible horrible experience and the worst service ever.... The waiter didnt even try to fix the situation, he basically didnt care and we ended up cancelling our order and just leaving.Sincere thank you to Luigi for ruining our last night of our honeymoon in NY. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
I liked the food very much. I recommend the fried calamari it was scrumptious. We also had Lure signature rolls and Hellfire rolls. Both were delicious. I suggest to make reservations in the back of the restaurant, because the part by the door and the bar is too crowded and noisy. It was hard to talk to each other. Also we ordered octopus but it didnt come. Kitchen was busy i think. But the waitress was so nice to bring complementary ice cream, which made us happy.
Absolutely divine! I had the oyster deviled eggs (delicious) and I also tried the caviar deviled eggs (theyre good but not as good as the oyster one) and I had the snapper. Everything was great! They didnt serve blackened anything (meaning they were confident in the quality and taste of their food). Id definitely recommend this restaurant!
Overhyped. Ive eaten at dives & 3 star Michelin restaurants and I can say Lure is a waste of money. Years ago (well before the COVID 19 pandemic), there might have been a decent pick-up scene at the bar so you could tolerate the poor quality of food. I ate there a week ago to give it (yet again) another chance only to be disappointed. 2 stars are for the staff who are kind. Maybe the chef is kind too but the quality for price point is unacceptable.
The portions are tiny! The sushi is delicious and the sparkling saké is yummy too. Atmosphere is wonderful. But my family didn’t have an amazing time because of the tiny tuna tacos and tiny ravioli. The rainbow roll was also on the smaller side of many rainbow rolls I’ve had. Would come back for a date night for the atmosphere and stick to sushi.
I had been here for lunch in the past and was looking forward to celebrating my birthday here with my husband for dinner. We received a warm welcome and friendly service at the beginning of our meal, but bummed to say it went downhill after we got our drinks. It’s understandable that the kitchen may have been backed up with orders on a Saturday night, but we were disappointed that our sour-faced server didn’t check in with us AT ALL to communicate the delay—or even pretend of be apologetic despite the fact that the two-top next to us (seated well after us) received their oysters a full 15 minutes before us.Food is good but not special enough to cancel out the poor (and honestly, kind of mean?) service on a special occasion. We won’t be returning.
A wonderful wonderful date night! I took my boyfriend here for a date night for restaurant week and we had an amazing dining experience. The setting was amazing, looks like the inside of a fancy yacht! The food was rich and flavorful. I had the miso crusted salmon cooked to absolute perfection. And the service was so kind, helpful, and attentive. Our waiter, George, was no nice and made our dining experience above and beyond. He deserves a serious raise!Overall great night!
Excellent restaurant in SoHo. Great for lunch or dinner. I generally get the lobster bisque, which I love. Good wine selection. Good salads (especially the lobster salad). Good service. Good atmosphere. Good place for business lunches. I stop in and sit at the bar and enjoy my meal and maybe a glass of wine, every so often, and occasionally get dinner at a table. Both are good but I prefer sitting at the bar, myself. Theres a sushi bar at the back of the restaurant which also looks fun.
This place is such a beautiful clean place,to bring an love one or family. The food was so good it was do to the perfection. We all came here on Valentines Day and we really enjoyed each other company and food. The waiter Camilo was such a great waiter and handsome 😉 he was on point and made my family satisfy. The owner Josh Capon is a wonderful man🤗. He made sure that my son was satisfy, and very attentive to us. Im making this an every other week place to attain with my mother. Just one thing make sure you have money🤑🤑
Food was good, but way overpriced. You can get better sushi for lower prices (Sugarfish). My review has to do more with the atmosphere. We walked in at 5:30 on a Saturday with a reservation. It was completely empty, as I believe they open at 5 for dinner service. We were seated in a booth by the bar. It was our first time there and I wanted to sit in the main room, but the bar area was pretty cool. Until she led us to our booth with crumbs all over the seat, table, and floor. All she said was, whoops! Sorry about that! and went on her way. We could care less about the floor, but the table and the seat where my wife sat? I think the restaurant needs to think about hiring a man to clean between the shifts. So that people dont come in and crumbs and garbage (napkins and whole pieces of dropped food) on the floor.. Its not a very clean place. The food is good. But not $22 per roll good. Nothing to write home about. I still give this place 4 stars for food and 2 for service/atmosphere. Average 3.
I celebrated my PhD today in this delicious restaurant. I am glad to say that we had a pleasant evening and the place was undoubtedly the reason for that successful event. The waiters participated in a graceful manner, the cuisine was very good and my guests were very pleased. We shall no dout visit again for more celebrations. thanks very much.
This spot is an annual spot we go to kick off summer. Oysters and rose with sashimi is how we roll and the place always delivers. Great bartender and good vibes makes the time here super enjoyable. The oysters , as per my friends, are just too good and a must when you go here.. The yachtsman feel goes over well. High praise all around. Have been here for dinner as swell and the fresh fish is a hit
Everyone loved their brunch, especially the lemon blueberry scone, Norwegian Benedict, The Leo, and The Bloody Mary Royal (with oyster shooter). We even ordered a side of sushi which was outstanding. The outstanding food, the friendly staff, and the ship decor have me wanting to come back as soon as possible. The restaurant is also ADA friendly as you can enter through a service elevator just a few doors down from the main entrance.
The interior design of the restaurant is very cute, feels like youre in a boat. Its a hot spot for after work drinks and raw bar - the food was definitely good, just not super memorable (other than the delicious raw bar) . Much better for going with friends to be social, not family as it can get quite loud and crowded
I walked in to this restaurant outfitted like a yacht in the financial district ready to be disappointed by a place clearly catering to finance bros. However, the service was stellar, and the food was AMAZING. Like out of control good. My significant other had the tuna, and I had the slow baked halibut, and both were delectable. Would definitely go again if in the area.
Food is good! The guys on the sushi bar are wonderful! I’m giving it one start because the manager Mathew is horrible and disrespectful. We sat on the bar (as always) he came aggressively and made us stand up because a party of three people were supposedly be on waiting list to the bar. At the end no one came to sit. When we approached him to ask what happened, he just said ‘YOU DON’T HAVE TO COME BACK’. We really hope the owners of this places take a close look into this mean manager, his attitude is definitely not the right one.
Excellent fish place. But it is expensive. They have a wide selection starting with sushi and shellfish. The whole Daurade was really excellent. It looked like the whole fish was served but it was already deboned. Not sure how they did that. The tuna was also great. But by far the most extraordinary dish was the Crispy Asia Snapper for two. $72 but it was good.High recommended for that special occasion.

2022-04-22Excellent. The service was suburb, the food was delicious, and the cocktails were on point. We especially enjoyed the miso salmon and the seared sea bass. The tempura shrimp was delicious- you were able to enjoy the sweet flavor of the shrimp and the fried coating and spicy mayo were perfect compliments—yet didn’t overpower the natural flavor of the shrimp. My only critique, would be regarding the sushi. For this price point, I expected to be wowed. The sushi was good— but not great. However, the excellent service, great ambiance, and wonderful cocktails easily made this a 5 star rating in my opinion.

2022-03-22My girlfriend took me here for my birthday and we were not disappointed. Everything was incredible and it’s a really cool vibe inside. Feels like you’re on a ship with all the decor. The sushi and sashimi was A+ and we also got some oysters and deviled eggs with caviar on top. I’d recommend going with one of the signature oysters. To finish, we split the lobster Mac which was so good. Will definitely be back again because there’s so much in the menu we still want to try.

2022-05-11Well, I decided to have my birthday 🎂 brunch in this place.Lets start from pros. Great ambience. Friendly hosts, very kind and helpful manager Mr. Orion(I might have mispronounced his name, please forgive me if I have), server Miguel was doing good too. When I asked for a piece of desert I received birthday chocolate chip cookies 🍪, not a piece of cake, but counts and I really appreciate that effort! And now cons. Instead of grilled chicken salad, Ive got grilled pork salad😅, which I didnt eat at all(pieces of pork). Its still okay, but those multiple, someones(100% not mine😅), fingerprints around my plate was a turn off. Conclusion: helpful and friendly people, good ambience and ok food.

2022-06-08I’ll start with the pros - dining environment was awesome!Cons - taco shells were made of fried dough, not to my liking. Seafood platter was good but not overwhelming, the taste of rosemary from mussels escabche was very strong and I personally find it quite unpleasant.Had sushi the night before hence we didn’t order any sushi here, maybe I’ll feel completely different if we had the sushi / hand rolls …

2022-02-15Love this place! Absolutely fun, relaxing, upbeat atmosphere, feels like your on vacation as it looks kind of like a yacht inside. The Kenai Roll sushi was amazing!! One of the best rolls I’ve had in the city yet! The fish was so fresh, soft, and melts in your mouth with a nice crispy crunch from the other flavors. Lobster ravioli and key lime pie were also good. You can definitely taste the homemade feel in the food. The crispy rice spicy tuna was ok. I wouldn’t order it again but would definitely love to try more sushi on the menu! Overall great place and recommend! 100% coming back!

2021-12-21One of my favorite restaurant.I come here all the time. I do think it’s a bit over priced, however; the food is awesome! Would definitely recommend coming here. The inside looks like a boat. One thing i have noticed is that the service got so bad after COVID. But it’s expected, can’t really blame the restaurant.

2022-02-04Fantastic place that makes you feel like you are inside of a ship. The sushi was delicious. The crispy sushi rice was my favorite. I very much enjoyed my spicy cocktail as well. Highly recommend.
