Lusardis in other cities:
Ordered late at night and was grateful they were open and able to deliver quickly. The salad was delicious, but the lobster bisque was terrible. It tasted like seafood stock and five spice powder. Absolutely no sweet lobster flavor, or cream or cognac. Maybe this is their interpretation but it was just not enjoyable and we threw it away. Otherwise, Im very pleased with their menu options and look forward to trying other dishes.
Their pastas are super delicious (we had the paccheri and gnocchi). I almost ordered more pasta instead of dessert, which in hindsight I kind of wish I had done because the desserts were only okay - they didnt taste made in house. The service was overall both warm and professional, but it did take quite a while for them to bring us our check. We would definitely come back to eat more pasta!
Traditional Italian food in an updated setting. You feel like you are stepping back in time. The service is pretty good and the food is delicious. The wine is very reasonable. They are strong on pasta. You can order it for your starter or main. We had it for our starters and ordered mains. Gotta say, the seafood pasta was delicious! Skip the duck, the fat was not rendered properly..... The sauce was good though. The prices are pretty reasonable too. Give this old standard a try.
Super annoying, unbearably loud karaoke-level singer is there every night totally ruining the mood. He blasts awful cliche music all night right into your face as youre trying to eat, couldnt even have a normal conversation during dinner. Dont even remember the food because the vibe was so unpleasant for the price of the menu.
Love this neighborhood place thats been here for years. Traditional Italian food with everything executed well. Its mostly an older quiet crowd but dont let that fool you into thinking this place isnt relevant today. Thats why its always full. Non-pretentious staff exude class and provide first rate service to go with the great food. And you are always welcome to BYO if you have a great bottle of wine.
Lusardis is as close to the Italian experience as you can get without a passport. Youll long for the next chance you get to eat here. Be sure to split an order of the truffled pasta. Its outstanding! You wont find a bad item on the menu. Everything is mouth watering, and the staff treats you like old friends.
A great place for classic Italian food, as well as a reliable neighborhood place. The staff have all been there a long time and they are competent and friendly. The food is reliable and tasty and the prices are, by NYC standards, moderate. One of my favorite places in Manhattan - reliable and not pretentious.
Ridiculously perfect and delicious for an old-school Italian dining experience. Chose this spot last-minute on a Friday night and was still able to snag a two-top only 45-minutes out in order to celebrate my partners special day. She was ecstatic with her pasta and black truffle dish and they were NOT stingy with the truffles. My rigitoni and sweet sausage dish was also brilliantly prepared. Both our waiter and the maître d provided exceptional service as one would expect from an upscale restaurant. Highly recommended for decadent and rich Italian dishes and make sure that you dont skip out on dessert. The Torta Pistachio is insanely good.Prices were reasonable and in-line with what youd expect in a major city, not cheap, but not shocking either. Even though everyone seems to be charging $15+ for mixed drinks these days, they DO pour a stiff one so that you feel like you get your moneys worth.
Lusardis is a more upscale Italian dining experience on the upper east side. The menu focused more on authentic Italian dishes with a variety of fresh ingredients rather than the standard spaghetti and meatballs type of dishes that appease to American tastes found at other restaurants. We enjoyed the Crespelle Fiorentina and Raviolacci. The service was very good and the inside was well decorated and up-kept. Prices were a little expensive compared to similar restaurants in the area.
Best fish of any Italian restaurant in the city. Wonderful staff and prices are reasonable. Food prep is not overly salty and natural .great atmosphere and good wine list. Try the ravioli, grouper, veal martini , calamari or any of the soups on special. Weaker dishes IMO are pacchieri pasta, gnocchi , chic rustico and duck. Highly recommend overall.
I ordered dinner for my wife and I and said I would pick it up at 6:20 got there a few minutes early called and they had the order ready for me and brought it out to the car. The food was delicious just like eating there. They included bread and cookies for an added treat. What a great store hope they survive thru all of this. Thanks
AMAZING AND AUTHENTIC ITALIAN RESTAURANT! Service is excellent, and the food & wine list is superb. Everything was delicious. This is a vibrant place and one of the best places in UES. Highly recommendable. The owner is always there and personally making sure every is perfect.
Great atmosphere, great service, great food. If youre a bit adventurous in your dining, they have some dishes that are a bit exotic for NYC, like rabbit and liver. Always good for a date or a romantic dinner. Only negative is that the chairs arent really comfortable and inviting--theyre only adequate.
One of my favorite Italian restaurants in the area. Polenta cooked with porcini mushroom, pasta with truffles (in winter), and risotto is to die for. Everyone is also super friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is very welcoming and warm. Perfect for family dinners.
I was greeted promptly on upon arrival at the restaurant. The staff was friendly and attentive. The Insalata Piedmontese was excellent and, the Vitello Martini was outstanding. The flourless Torta Ciccolato was delicious. And the complimentary cookies served with vin Santo were wonderful.
Lusardis is one of the best, long lasting upscale classic Italian restaurants on the upper east side. The menu may not change often, but is pack with rich, filling dishes that are complimented by bold Italian reds. Theres a family feel too, with Mauro and Luigi at the helm, and their wonderful host Imer at the door. Spring for the risottos on special, and keep an eye out for truffles when in season - they pile them on!
Authentic Tuscan, Cibreo comes to mind, nobody does it better in Manhattan. Comforting ambiance, nothing fancy & distracting from the food, excellent wait staff. Depth of flavors, quality & combination of down to earth ingredients, portions for adults, a great wine list for all wallets - only regret is the time wasted at other, lesser Italian establishments. A perfect Five.

2022-05-31The restaurant itself, the ambiance and food were great. We were three friends out on a much needed night out. One had pasta with truffles, the other a veal dish and I had the breast of duck. We all raved about our dishes. At end of night the waiter, as were getting our payments together, some paying cash others CC, he rushes by table and grabs the credit cards. Doesnt ask us anything, like: If were ready? Do we have any instructions? I had to call another waiter to get him back to our table ASAP. He comes back in a huff, drops everything on table and rushes off. We are completely shocked at his behavior. I call this idiotic person back and tell him his attitude was uncalled for as he didnt wait for charging instructions. I could go on about the rest, but I will end by saying management were lame as well. What started as a nice night with good company and food, was overshadowed on a sour note, thanks to the waiter!

2022-02-27Elegant atmosphere where you can actually talk in a normal tone. The food is fabulous and there is plenty of variety. Portions are generous and well priced. Its ideal to dine with someone you care to actually converse with while enjoying great food and wine. The staff are totally professional with just the right amount of attention and they are able to offer great suggestions.

2022-08-19This restaurant is worth 10 stars. The staff was so friendly and accommodating! From the moment we walked in, it felt like family with five star service! The food was to die for. I couldn’t recommend any higher. So glad someone suggested this restaurant!!! Will definitely go back!!!

2022-04-21Not what I was expecting according to the other reviews. The food was very basic for NYC standards and the prices did not represent the taste. I got the caprese salad which had three pierces of hard tomato and the cot was $20. The fish of the day had a sauce that was covering the whole dish and didn’t represent the typical Italian lemon and olive oil. The atmosphere was nice and the tables very well spaced.

2020-11-11Love the White Truffle Pasta and Tiramisu!! The pasta reminds me of Japanese ramen noodles (which is more chewy than regular Italian pasta I have tried). The staffs are super friendly too. High recommended!

2019-02-02What a tasteful and enjoyable experience ! The personnel was very welcoming and polite, and for once I felt like I was back in Italy. Menu is complete and everything looks delicious. I choose the seafood pasta and it was absolutely amazing. The seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked and so was the pasta. My friend took a chestnut pasta and he was in heaven (he is a real Italian). Dessert was to die for! From far the best tiramisu I had in years and on the city! I totally recommend it and will go back again as it is in our neighborhood !

2022-01-15We started our dinner with a delicious crisp bottle of Sauvignon and celebrated a life well lived with delicious food, that was well prepared. The lemon sole with mashed potatoes was out of this world; so much so that my neighbor 30+ years who has never finished a dish in all the years Ive known her... devoured it!Dessert followed and was delicious!

2020-07-03Best Italian restaurant on the Upper East Side reopened after the Covid-19 shut down, and were very excited to spend the night there! Excellent service, atmosphere, & food and drinks! My absolute favorite Italian restaurant on the Upper East Side, if not all of Manhattan. Love the friendly staff. AA+++
