Their Pad Kee Moa (spicy noodles) and Pad See Ew (drunken noodles) are among the best Ive had in the city. The lunch specials are a bang for the buck and if you order them as takeout/delivery they throw in a free soda as well which is sweet. The peanut sauce deserves a special mention and pairs well with most dishes.
When ordering lunch delivery for an office of several co-workers from any OTHER restaurant, there is always a risk that the restaurant will mess up some little aspect of the order or at least one person may dislike the food. My coworkers and I have ordered from Luscious Thai a few times. The food is always excellent and we ALL think so, even the people who had never had curry before. Service is exceptional. Food is always properly labeled and packed. Prices are reasonable. Luscious Thai has proven itself to be of CONSISTENTLY high quality in both food and service. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting delicious Thai food.
Go-to Thai place for delivery or pick up. Don’t be dissuaded by their storefront — You can count on them for the flavors, consistency and quick delivery. The pad see ew, pad thai, drunken noodles are all great — and not as oily as these dishes can get. The tom yum soup is really filling and a great portion for a lighter dinner. Among the rice dishes, Basil Fried Rice is our go-to favorite: it’s really, really soul satisfying.
I never write reviews, and I just had to leave one for the meal Im having RIGHT NOW. As in, Im pausing my lunch just to write this.I ordered the Calamari Spice appetizer and the Crispy Duck Kra Prow Chefs Special (spicy). The duck dish is EXQUISITE. Perfect balance of spicy and sweet. The sauce/oil it sits in is very flavorful and goes very well with the rice. Th veggies are crisp and crunch, but not dry.The calamari was cut in generously sized rings. The batter is thick, but not overwhelming. The Thai sweet chili sauce is amazing as well.I ordered online and even though I was quoted 50 minutes, it arrived in 30! They get extra points for putting my cold soda in a separate bag from my hot food. No one does that. Everyone should. Will definitely be ordering from here again! :)
Would give 4.5 stars if i could, but this was a great experience. We stumbled upon it late on Saturday and it was almost empty, so we got great service. The dumplings were OK but not great. The Duck Red Curry was INCREDIBLE with an excellent balance between spicy and savory. The Chicken Massaman Curry was sweet and spicy which tasted great over the rice. Each Curry dish came with enough rice for the dish and was good value. Would definitely go back.
Ive ordered takeout and dined in many times over the last couple of years. Their staff is always friendly and attentive. Im not really one to pay attention to ambiance, but its kind of an intimate setting, not what Id consider a work-lunch place. That said, their lunch specials as others have mentioned come at a great price with solid options for appetizers. Now, I have a monstrous appetite, but even their lunch portions are easily filling. Im not exactly an authority on authentic Thai cuisine; however, while their local competition seems to cater to American tastes, Luscious Thai doesnt shy away from spice, particularly in their Tom Kha soup. Noodles and curry are always solid choices here. And as I mentioned, Ive patronized this place for quite some time. So, I can say with a fair amount of confidence that theyve been consistent in their quality.
I got the Drunken noodles and basil fried rice.Basil fried rice wasnt excellent nor was it spicy. It wasnt horrible either but definitely made me think about why I ever liked this dish in the first place. The drunken noodles dish was great. So great I ate this 2 meals in a row.
EDIT: Returned for the 3rd time and gobsmacked at how much has changed, for the WORSE! Price increases on almost everything, new server with horrible attitude, missing menu items, smaller portions. Worst part, we were 2 people and they automatically charged us gratuity! When I questioned this, they said because tourists dont tip. I was offended, having lived in New York for 5 years, and visited the restaurant when pregnant and with my newborn baby. I would also have been offended if I had been a tourist, thats terrible! Then he said, havent you been anywhere where they automatically charge you tip? I answered yes, for parties of 6 or more and its always written on the menu. He had no response, eventually returned the tip in cash and grumbled when I didnt tip after that disgusting, rude experience. Dont waste your time here, there are 10s of thousands of Thai restaurants in the city with better service, where youre not discriminated against. Sick.Delicious, luscious and authentic Thai, with a very interesting street food section on the menu Ive never seen. Not bad value for money, good portion sizes. We had pad kee mao (drunken noodles), shrimp green curry & the combo appetizer. Highly recommend the shrimp rolls, curry puffs & satay, as well as our super tasty mains. Fabulous service, very sweet and nice server and good ambience with comfortable seating. No complaints whatsoever, will definitely be returning for another hearty, enjoyable meal. Thank you!
This was our second try in 2013 to find a good Thai restaurant in New York. It wasnt bad. Service was friendly. It had big portions American style. But compared to other Thai restaurants all over the world, it wasnt special. No delicate spices, just the usual. Good, but not special.
Ive had tasty Thai food outside of Thailand but this is definitely my new number one. I had the Spicy basil fried rice with duck which was the right amount of spicy and the Rad nah beef which was a nice addition to the fried rice by being an explosion of taste. Highly recommend, next time I will try their Khao Soi which was my favorite dish while living in Thailand.
I usually order takeout and have been to the location a few times with friends. The food is not the best but has been good so far. However, this past Saturday I ordered a pad see ew to go and while I was eating it at home, I bit into what I thought was a piece of pepper then realized that they had poured a chunk of black pepper and didn’t mix it well with the noodles. It was stuck to the noodles and my mouth felt like it was on fire. I didn’t call back to inform the restaurant but I have decided I will not come back or order from here again.
I popped in here for a late lunch while running errands one Sunday and was pleasantly surprised. Food is fresh, flavorful, and tasty. The tom kha (chicken soup with coconut milk broth) is especially delicious. Green curry came heaping with tons of veggies. The $10 lunch special cannot be beat — especially as it is offered every day of the week. Service is friendly and accommodating. Great little place for a cheap and tasty bite.
HORRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE FROM KITTI OUR experience with kitti is on going unprofessional. First day we order a fried calamari and kitti FAILED to return to the table to inform us that fried calamari wasnt available, and kitti took it upon herself to serve us steamed calmari! What waitress does this? DISSAPOINTING service from LUSCIOUS THAI.and from there when the bill comes and i choose to withhold tip BECAUSE KITTI CHOOSE TO WITHHOLD UPDATE OR ORDER TO ME THAT THERE WAS NO FRIED CALAMARI, I FELT SHE DIDNT DESERVE TIP FROM THERE KITTI LOUDLY TOLD ME I NEED TO TIP!! I NEED TO TIP! I EXPLAINED TO HER NO I DONT UNLESS IM HAPPY WITH SERVICE AND ESPECIALLY IF KITTI ASK FOR TIP. OWNER OF LUCIOUS THAI SHOULD educate kitti that sit down party of 6 maybe 4 then gratuity is included that brings us to today service 9/5/2018We tried LUCIOUS THAI for lunch and Kitti was our server once againWe gave her an opportunity to improve her customer service. My friend who had the ordeal with Kitti witheld ordering because of her last experince but myself and my other colleague ordered. Our orders came out correct and food was ok. We are big tippers naturally so we ask for check and dont you know, low and behold Kitti brings our checks and notifies us that gratuity is included.....to our shock we ask why if we are not a table of 6 maybe even 4? Kitti replies, because last time she was here (pointed to my freind) she didnt leave tip. To our SHOCK of how Kitti tried to embarass her we were taken aback. We then ask for new bills without gratuity for that reason and other reasons of adding tip without asking. Kitti blammed her owner LYN that she made gratutity a must. We educated Kitti what she fail to realize is you dont take it upon yourself to add tip. New York state law is a party of 6. And we tip based on your customer service experience. We asked for the manager. Kitti told us she isnt available. Because now Lucoius Thai lost our business... due to the following reasons:1 Kitti never realised to inform us of menu change and bought us steamed calamari becsuse she felt so.2. Kitti told the entire restaurant that I didnt leave a tip.3. Kitti failed to realize that she should not include gratuity for a table of 3.
HORRIBLE SERVICE. ORDERED DELIVERY AND IT SAID IT WOULD ARRIVE WITHIN 30-45MINS. I TRIED CALLING THE RESTAURANT ABOUT 30 TIMES AND NO ANSWER.... I FINALLY REACH THEM AND THEY SAID THE FOOD WAS OUT FOR DELIVERY (THIS WAS 30 MINS AFTER THE DELIVERY WINDOW) I GIVE THEM 15 MORE MINS... NOTHING.. SO I CALL AND CANCEL BUT NO ANSWER AGAIN... ANOTHER 45 MINS PASSES BY I GET A CALL THAT MY FOOD IS HERE. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?LEARN TO ANSWER YOUR PHONES AND GIVE THE CUSTOMER AN UPDATE.

2021-12-01Amazing service! My go to is the fried calamari, fried to perfection with jalepeno. The crispy pork belly with chinese broccoli is by far the BEST i had in NYC.I dont usually repeat restaurants but I visit this place almost once every week.

2022-07-26Two stars instead of one for prompt delivery. The food unfortunately has no redeeming qualities to warrant another star. I had the luscious sea and chive dumplings. Both items were very greasy. The luscious sea (so named for the featured seafood) had very little seafood and was 90% stringbeans. Their idea of spice seems to be to add red chili pepper without anything else to actually create a balanced dish. Tried it because its close, but would not order from here again.

2022-07-01DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE A GLUTEN ALLERGY. I ordered drunken noodles to go and was told they could made be gluten free and then the next day I went back to order again and they said it wasn’t gluten free this time. Asked to see the bottles and only 1 sauce out of the 3 they used was gluten free! They didn’t even seem to really know what gluten was. Don’t advertise to people things can be made gluten free if you don’t even know what it is yourself!

2020-09-17LOVE their chicken pad thai!! The price was reasonable for Manhattan and this was probably the most generous portion I’ve ever gotten in NYC. I ordered for takeout and picked it up myself since COVID and all. And this one pad Thai lasted me a dinner and next day’s lunch. I’m usually never full from a portion of pad thai, let alone have leftovers. It’s so flavorful too. I highly recommend!!

2019-04-22We come here almost every week for its lunch specials. My favorites are the fried rice - Thai, pineapple and Basil. The tomyum soup and the Thai salad are also very good. I also love the Thai iced tea here. We have also tried catering here, everyone loves it.

2019-09-07I would strongly recommend NOT using the bathroom here due to the filthy underground toilet paperless maze you will find yourself in... BUT aside from this small detail, the food is absolutely delicious, portions are huge and very generously priced. Cocktails are not bad, staff is friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.

2019-12-24Food was great, all of my family members from Puerto Rico loved every dish and Puertoricans are picky eaters. Bathroom seems a little sketchy but overall nice. Food came out extremely fast, very please with the service.

2021-11-24I thought this is a friendly and affordable spot near my job I can go to for lunch regularly but after going here almost every day for a month, I have realized I am being racially profiled. I’ve never had an issue with the young gentleman that is upfront but the issue is with the young woman. She picks and chooses which days she allows customers to sit in, or maybe it’s just me. Today was the tipping point. She watched me and waited until I put my card into the payment brochure, proceeded to take it,charged me, and waited around again until I signed it. Then she follows me halfway out the store and loudly complains about her tip. As a regular customer I say my tips have added up to about 50+ dollars now and her complaint made me not want to leave a tip at all. You just don’t treat people that way and she admitted she has been watching me the past three times she served me. It is hurtful to know I cannot support a small business and get the same support back. I understand that tipping is her salary but once again I always tip. I find it very unprofessional that she followed me out the store to say that and I will no longer eat here again.
