Absolutely great supermarket! I will definitely come back
Absolutely love the appetizers, cakes, pastries, and sugar cane juice all freshly made by those friendly guys in the little section in the rear of the grocery. Fruits and vegetables are fresh and well priced. This store is missing a perfect 5-star in my humble opinion as they need to mark their prices on their shelves. Also the meat and fish handlers in the back do not observe cleanliness and not helpful. Their pricing charged is often inaccurate from what is being displayed. It may be honest mistakes, but can be improved if you want to retain repeat customers.
We tried to use Our OTC card there but they said they dont accept with RUDE behavior that but i called OTC customer service about it. they said its wron.g they sholdnt say No to OTC cards. and they are willing to take my complain about this maharaja super market. OTC IS senior citizens benefit card that website said maharaja accepts. but people who works there were very RUDE ABOUT IT ..will make sure maharaja answer to them about it. AND ALSO HEALTH AND SAFETY DEPARTMENT.
This place says everything good food and fruit and vegetables all at a reasonable price
Very neat and clean store. Large variety of fruit and vegetables at a good price. Also has a lot of dried foods, rice, and flour for sale.Has in house halal butcher and a bakery.

Good place to get Indian groceries. Giving 4 stars because in my experience veggies are not always fresh. I would carefully examine veggies makes sure they arent going bad.
I have been here twice and absolutely love it! They have a wide variety of groceries. Its my go to supermarket now for shopping for halal meat and other Desi specialities. I just havent been able to figure out how to register for their rewards program.
I can get things here I cant get it other stores I get eyeliner I get beautiful fruits and vegetables that arent carried in other stores different spices and its just wonderful I love this store

Good store for Indian and Pakistani groceries. The farmers market is reasonably priced and in season produce is fresh. They have a halal butcher shop inside the store that provides all kinds of cuts of meat Lamb, Goat, Chicken and Beef. Turkey too around Thanksgiving holiday.
This is a good place to buy international merchandise but the meat market is in the supermarket that they call zabita halal meat its hard to explain what is halal means to these people. Check this picture I attached. Sorry but this is not acceptable...
I used to thought this store is economical than Patels or Apna Bazar. But now the Prices for Vegetables,lentils, spices and even rice are way higher than other store quality also normal nothing great. Toor dal 3 99 for 2lb... lol thats way much price compare to other store.. I used to get 4.99 for 4 lbs.. possible please avoid this store. Taking advantage of COVID-19... please avoid buying soma masonry rice from here, had lot of insects in it. Def not stored properly or poor quality soma masonries rice
One of the best run Indian grocery stores in Queens/Long Island region. 1. Clean 2. Wide aisles and neatly stocked shelves. 3 Employees are easily identifiable in uniform. 4 plenty of parking space. 5Fast & Courteous cashiers. 6 Reasonable prices . 7Coffee & Snacks shop inside. (The bathrooms are dirty like the other grocery stores with Indian aroma 😬)
8/16/21 - Bought these mangoes from Maharaja Hicksville location, first mango had little black spot I removed that part thinking it’s normal but when I sliced 4-5 mangoes all of them had large black spot like in this picture. Myself and my little one ate first mango which was look little better now seen conditions of other mangoes I’m regretting that why I consumed that mango. Tomorrow I will go to the store to speak with Manager and BBB will be notify by selling low quality food to desi community. Please don’t buy this product from Maharaja. Now I know why they are cheap compare to Patel brother’s or other competitors.
Ok place to shop prices are a little bit more than Apna Bazzar that less than 1/2 mile away
I love to go here and buy my fresh produce, but unfortunately their Mango Lassi isn’t fresh. I ended up going to urgent care from having Mango Lassi the day before. It wasn’t fresh and was just sitting there in the display. I thought it was fresh and bought it and the next morning I threw up six times from food poisoning. Also one of my friends bought expired YOGURT! I’m pretty sure they reuse their EXPIRED YOGURT for their Mango Lassi’s so it doesn’t go to waste. You may shop here, BUT DON’T BUY THE MANGO LASSI! Not worth it for food poisoning and wasting $2.99.

Amazing cakes by the pastry shop within. Especially Chetan does a phenomenal job... He made cakes for my son on all special days and I keep going back to Chetan for more cakes. Very nice and friendly is Chetan.
I go to Maharaja Farmers Market often to do my groceries. It has great selection of fruits, vegetables and meat items. I also love their snack items which they sell fresh.
Most females who work at the checkout have the worst attitude problems. They like to gossip, make fun of customers and even reply very unprofessionaly. They do not show the courtesy and respect to customers. Ive been a customer at this store for way too long but not anymore only because of these females cashiers. I hope the owner of this store leave his/her phone number so that I can contact them.
Nice and clean Indian Grocery store. Very nice helpful staff. Prices are not vert high even less than some other stores. They have all types of Lentils. Frozen stuff. Fresh Fruits and Veges. Whole wheat cookies etc. They have Utensils too.
A very good grocery store full of South Asian groceries. One gets all types of vegetables, fruits, pulses, rice, wheat, oils, herbs and many other kitchen items.The rates are reasonable and the staff is helpful. The store is having well maintained inventories and the supplies are regular.
Prices fluctuate for veggies, and the halal meat is expensive. Super Halal is a better option for the neighborhood.
Great Place for Indian grocery. Always better prices compared to Patel brothers and Apna Bazaar. Top of all they know how to make you keep coming over and over... coupons... you get $2 off or $5 off depending on how much you buy. Thats a great cash back and lot better than many credit cards. They do have a lot of collection and meat is available too. Meat shop is not 24 hours and doesnt have organic option.
I have a question for the owner. I and I know many customers observe that Their store is very cold during the winter and very hot during the summer.last week I asked their cashier she told me they dont have an air conditioner(ac) and heater.!! is it a joke.!?? Even I told them a couple of times the customer feels unbearable but they didnt fix it yet.! Therefore, the customers problem are not important to them.!

The place is nice and neat just make sure whenever you go and check the dates of the products because sometimes some products may be expired and there are multiple grocery products that dont have dates on them like lentils beans I dont know how youre going to check the expiry dates on them but yeah its definitely worth it to ask a customer representative overall the store has a lot of stuff and they have some reasonable prices and the quality of the products from the store is really nice. So I would recommend people going there once in a while and take a look around whether theyre comfortable in taking that stuff or not but yes its an nice store.
It has mostly everything I need for my household. I love cooking so most of my grocery is done from this place. The produce are reasonably priced. Variety of spices, lentils, pasta and other things can be found. Plus you can find halal meats at this place. There are also marinated chicken, mutton and minced meat.
I love shopping here. Before you even get inside, there are bargains, usually produce, all of which is affordable and always beautiful. The spices, oh, the spices. The only drawback is for a kitchen in need of a small amount. Though a significantly wider variety than the supermarket, there are no small packages. Great selection in beans, rice, & tea, too, and some cookware (picked up a mortar and pestle at a great price). Ive also found the prices on nuts & seeds to beat other stores.Staff is friendly, store is clean, prices are budget-friendly. Well worth a visit.

I go there for some specialties like white cheese and Turkish olives. One thing bothers me that they pay much attention toCovid19 issue.They should provide hand sanitizer to customers and cashiers at least plus to wearing masks
I always shop here but not anymore i spend thousands of dollars shop here but no respect cashier Id:Pitu was so rude I rather go other Indian grocery stores .
Roti packet has mold and still on the shelf. I noticed the mold while paying at the cashier.Instead of replacing the packet, the rude cashier told me that it is my fault that I picked the expired item from the shelf.
Great, one stop shop for ethnic food. Indian, Pakistani, Turkish, and Middle Eastern foods are easy to find here. Plenty of parking. I just wish they organized their space better. Feels cramped and to much stuff everywhere in the store. Sometimes there is stuff you need outside on the curb but not inside the store so if you miss it before entry you wont see it again. The organization and placement of stuff is horrendous. Process and service are good.
This place is a great way to find produce from all around the world. That being said, last time I went there, there was a dead fly that was squished inside a pack of grapes. And there were multiple accounts of were I found fruits that have seen better days. The employees thou work hard and are very polite. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the employees. I am probably never going to comeback... unless I hear they finally cleaned up the store a little.
This store is open for 24 hours that’s great, but please check the expiry date of any packaged food before buying it. We had a bad experience of buying a expired bottle of sauce. We bought this in hurry and didn’t pay much attention to expiry date, but after reaching home we just checked the expiry date before using it and found that it was expired months ago.
Nice place has all the vegetables and groceries you may need and then some. The best part about this place is its open 24 hours and their halal meat section is very nice. People working there are pretty friendly the lines may get long during busy hours but thata almost any grocery store would definitely recommend.
I go there for spices and specialty foods their prices are good the store is clean no complaints.

Its Okay. There are a variety of similar Indian stores in the neighborhood and this one is not exceptional. Its 24/7 however. The aisles are wide unlike other stores in the neighborhood. The produce and products are well sorted and the place doesnt look overcrowded. Overall the store is neat but I find the hygiene questionable. As I walked in, store employees were picking up several crates worth of mangoes that had fallen onto the sidewalk and road and were putting them back into the boxes for sale.

I am regular customer of maharaja farmers market. It’s a very good experience to shop there because I like to shop there.I always come in the morning time for the last 4 yrs. Morning staff is very helpful specially that girl who always help me to find the things and give it to my hands. Her name is Ritu and she’s very friendly, helpful, and well mannered girl. I am giving maharajah 5 out 5 reviews because of her. When I come to shop in the evening I do not get the same experience.
Prices in Maharaja are much inflated .when I asked to return even the sealed items or store credit they refuse to do so. They ripping off innocent Indians. They claim this is the policy in all the stores in Hicksville. I checked myself no policy I found like this in other stores. I will advise check the prices carefully before you shop from Maharaja. They deserve no rating.
Such a ridiculous and Shameful Act!A product by the company gives 30% extra as an offer. I found it worthy and bought it for the original price.I go the very next week to find out that, they removed the original price and charged more for the free 30% as well.WOW! What an amazing place and management. Few extra $ doesn’t matter an individual , but such scam things should never be encouraged and should be reported to FDA.
So this extremely rude woman who is apparently a new manager at the store saw me standing for about good 10 minutes and didn’t bother saying anything and kept on counting her money. When I asked her i needed a cake she said the cake side of the store closes at 8 (there is no sign that says that). There is a reason why I stopped going here!

This store is right in the heart of Hicksville and also very convenient to other neighboring cities. and its very easy to track it down. You can easily get the access from rt 107 north and old country road east or west, very large parking lot, so parking is not the issue. Inside its huge store having all the groceries, fruit and vegetables with reasonable prices above all neat and clean. They also have fresh bakery for your cake and pastries need. They also have fresh butcher shop inside with very reasonable prices. They also have a ready to eat Indian snack like samosa, veg pakoras , veg. noodles samosa chat and veg pastries puffs.They have also Indian kitchen utensils for your daily need.Above all good customer services, staff is ready to help you to find your required groceries or other stuff.
This place was very surprising. This place has just about everything a traditional grocery store would have but at a better price. Produce section was super fresh and super organized. I only wish they opened a store closer to where i live but the drive is definitely worth it.
I bought goat today and when i started cleaning it today i can clearly see that the meat is old and i can see different pieces of the goat meat has different color. I am not sure how to rise the health and safety inspection on that food as i am worried if they are not providing right meat. Also, the product which is labelled as $6.99 which is discounted they are selling at original price at $9.99 (E.g., Taj Mahal black tea 1.9LB). Also, the staff who bills the meat is very rude and he specifically provides good meat to few known people, while with others he said i cant let you choose the meat. Overall i had same experience both the times i visited the store. I do not wanted to go to that store any more. I dont see how can i give score less than 1 as they are not even worth that. I think they should be taught how to respect and behave with customers
I buy grocery here every week and I have noticed this month they charged me thrice for the 14.99$ cake. Inside bakery charged twice my card and they mentioned transaction didn’t go thru and to pay up front and I brought another product including cake and paid 18.49$. Now they charged me 14.99+14.99+18.49.I know most of us don’t check the transactions processed after couple of days for how much final bill made but I request all the customers here to check how much you got charged at the end.
One of the best Farmers market Ive been too. Amazing selection of a wide range of vegetables. A true vegetarian dream. Beans,nuts and rice along with everything you would need for a fantastic vegetarian meal.

I went to this store for Indian groceries and realized that this store is much cleaner than the competitors. They have almost everything in this store. Ailes are Little Skinner than I am used to. (I am from PA). Other than that this is a good store for South Asian food.
Quality of food and service keeps dropping. Use to like going there, prices now are even higher than avregae supermarket for basic products. Good luck if you need to find help around the store.
Horrible place...I dont know why I went this place, it was my first time and got lot bad experience. I am writing this review so people can read before they go there, I went yesterday and bought some grocery, most of things are gone especially the onions, potato. another thing that Indian snacks most of products doesnt have expiry date, I dont theyr removed or dont know but it seems to me was very bad. So, it was spoiled my time and money and I think thats most important in all our life.
I walked out without buying anything. The produce wasnt fresh, there was no organic produce either. The one and only long line wasnt worth waiting on.

Rat alert!!! We used to love this place until this evening. Just 20 minutes ago, we saw a rat running across the aisles. I saw it and before i asked my wife if she saw it too, she was already running... What is worse is that I told the staff about it and only one person actually showed a real concern. The rest of the staff just looked at me as if it is something they see everyday. There was not an apology or reassurance that they were doing everything they can to prevent it. I paid my bill and left thinking that what we saw it very likely to be there a very long time with this kind of mentality. Simply put, this was terrible.
A vast array of produce and groceries from the Middle East. Store is clean and staff helpful. Checkout is fast and efficient. I find the customers friendly and helpful with products that are unusual to Westerners
I wouldve given it 5 stars since I have been their loyal customer since they opened but after todays experience, I have realized that apna bazaar has much better management towards their customer and how to deal with them. Respect has to be the first priority and know how to deal with every situation. Anyways I just went because I had forgotten my bag at the store after purchasing and of course I want my things since I paid for them. They denied that I never left anything there and started to look at all the videos..i had my receipt and the time showed on there so they went back and called the cashier and so on. I mean its just a freaking yogurt $4 just give me my stuff and get it done with. But no. That woman kept accusing me of something I didnt do. This definitely was my last time going there. Never again!
This is the best indian grocery store in Hicksville. Better than the pricey Patel and dirty Apna Bazar. They have a great live snacks counter too. Prices are reasonable and cleanliness is taken care of.

This store sell expired products. I bought so many things from here that was expired and they don’t even do returns. Recently I bought brown sugar which was expired and I went back after 20 days with the receipt to return but the cashier regithree showed me so much attitude and asked to do even exchange. I grabbed another one which was expired too. I told her that I want my money back which she refused to give. I don’t know if people really care about expired food but I do and request other people to check the date before you buy something. The guy who works in grocery put the expired sugar back.
Products are goods, but check the expiry dates. They sell good collection of Turkish and middle eastern products, again expiry dates is the key. Milk can be as low as 1.89. They sell pretty much everything.
Really great prices and a lot of variety. Sometimes hard to find produce in good condition though, and the organization is a little hard to figure out. Their prices beat out Stop and Shop, or ShopRite any day though. Just dont get the cakes.

Very nice and well groomed store. First of its kind as it has all under one roof. Meat shop and Bakery are high lights of the store in addition to wide aisles and disciplined arrangement of the items. Main USP of the store is spacious and cleaniness. Not to write much I will conclude saying there are grocery stores in neighbourhood but MAHARAJA as name states stands tall and above all. MOST important thing I forgot to mention THE GREAT GREAT PRICES......... the story continues. :)))) all SMILES....

Vegetables are fresh and the snack bars are wide open to public and not properly covered and not hygienic. Thankfully the snacks are veryyyy good. I love the gulab jamuns and samosas I would rate the gulab jamuns 10/10 they are the BEST GULAB JAMUN EVER! PLEASE COVER YOUR FOOD FROM THE PUBLIC

All the vegetables I buy from here go bad in just 2-3 days and multiple times Ive found expired packaged goods on the shelves. Its closer to my home than Patel brothers but not worth it. They need a Department of Health inspection
They carry A2 milk and a wide variety of ethnic foods fresh fruits and vegetables herbs, incense and frozen foods. I come here to buy bulk dried apricots, dates pistachios, Brazil nuts, pecans, almonds and dried cranberries and I also get my ashwagandha and Moringa powder here theyre open 24 hours and theyre in the heart of Hicksville. They carry halal meat and organic coconut oil and coconut milk. They also carry a wide variety of spices in bulk.

Decent store with a lot of South Asian product choices. The entrance is always in disarray with food products that are not always fresh. Most product prices are slightly higher than other stores from the Indian subcontinent.

Excellent variety of traditional and non traditional groceries that would be or not be found at an Indian centered market. Some of the displays are kinda hidden or not as open as they could be but great place to shop overall
We bought fried fish from them which was stale and had fungus, I reported to Health Department. Thankfully I didn’t get sick though I had little stomach ache.
My favorite part of this store has to be the bakery behind the produce section. So much deliciousness going on back there. Im dreaming of onion and spinach bhajia while writing this.

A really great and exact 1 stop store for indian grocery. You can get all stuff like punjabi food and south indian food and things. I dont think that i have to go anywhere else if i am near maharaja grocery.
It gets a bit too crowded on the weekends but theres a lot of options and variety while you shop. You can find anything you need and it encourages you to try new things.
Good selection slow cashiers. If you arent a member of the crowd you get treated a little less kindly by the cashiers.Otherwise very clean well stocked store.

I bought kawan chapati. When I opened the pack, all chapati was smelling bad. I think they forgot to keep in the refrigerator for long time. Also if you ask for baby chicken, they will give you regular chicken.

Weights are sometimes wrong on deli items beware . They lie about deli weights...bought a pound of turkey the weigh it where you cant see. Got home almost quarter pound less with container. Beware! Meats are very low quality at high prices!
Disgusting! Selling food with fungus! Nothing is fresh. I was appalled by their behavior as well about selling old rotten food. Won’t want to recommend to anyone!

The restroom is a dirty mess. Dish washing Ajax is the primary cleaning product to keep it clean. I seen it knocked over laying behind the toilet. There are waste baskets inside the stalls to place tissues and paper towel.

2022-06-26We bought frozen vegetable from Maharaja and found rotten. Frozen vegetable was manufacturer by Deep Food and we were under impression that Deep Food is always maintain their quality but appears that thats not true or Maharaja failed to maintain proper freezer temperature. Be vigilant when you by food product from this store as we have also found expired date food on the self.

2022-07-03Today i was at maharaja store and one item.want to return but they have said no since more.than a week. Thats ok but after that conversation later when about to.leave at 3.pm counter 4 fat lady just behaving very odd.manner just like indian mind set and she has no manner how to talk the customer and i hope owner will get this information and instruct the stuff to.behave very well to.customer. The fat lady should immediately kick out from store. Beware all.customers for.this type of store person behavior.

2017-10-20This groceries store targets mainly the Indian crowd. You will find vegetables, spices, frozen food, meat and cooking utensils.This store is open 24 hours, so that is a huge advantage. It remains crowded during the evening hours.Overall the store provides good options at reasonable rate.Personally I had couple of bad experiences:1) cooking utensils once bigger cannot be returned, nor they repair.2) dry fruits are not that fresh, I once found a living fly inside a packed almonds. But they replaced that once I showed them the receipt.

2018-12-01I am writing this review to wake many mothers who stuff their toddlers and kids with lot of ghee. The below pictures were taken on 11/30/2018 at 7:54 PM and 7:56 PM. The ghee was expired in the month of MARCH, 2018. Initially, I thought it was left accidentally. But, there were a whole bunch of them on the same shelf in the front row.The face wash below was expired in SEPTEMBER 2018, and is still hanging by the shelf. This is not my first experience, Last couple of times I told the store personnel about the expired products on the shelf. I once myself took all the expired face washes off the shelf and gave them.This clearly shows the negligence and irresponsibility of the management.So, please watch out for the expiry dates before buying something in this store.Thank you.
