5 adults. All very happy with their choices and then dessert! Coconut cream pie and a very generous slice. Homemade heaven that someone said was the best theyve ever had. Love having Alex as our waiter. He takes good care of us and my service dog is treated well.
Fantastic lunches; exceptional homemade desserts. If making reservations, dont call too far ahead-mine wasnt recorded.
Best restaurant locally hands down! NYC quality food. Food is always excellent and the portions are generous. Salads are my favorite and contain lots of fresh vegetables. Baked goods are awesome. Come hungry. Place can get noisy when there is a crowd. Very busy place so call ahead for reservations. (That is all I had left when I remembered to take a picture.)
I was surprised by the urban vibe of this country restaurant. Dad had a steak quesadilla, Mom had the veggie burger and I had a chicken Thai salad- which shows the wide variety of the menu. We all loved our meals. The sassy sauce was so good that we bought a bottle. All the desserts looked amazing. I had the cannoli cake. It was good, but a little dry. My only complaint: the female wait staff was stoic. However our waiter was very friendly, helpful in explaining menu options and quick to wait on us. Our bill came to $50. Well be back!
This place is a treasure in a land of diners. The ambiance is wonderful, and the food matches. Everything was amazing. And the desserts are to die for.
Giving 2 stars (instead of 1) because we didn’t try the food- only came in for baked goods to go. Unfortunately they were obviously a few days old. Very stale and dry. We sampled several things and it was all of them. Maybe the menu/fresh food is okay but I’d never try their baked goods again.

Diverse menu full of good looking stuff. Lots of vegetarian options. Veggie burger is delicious and house-made, but suffers the common problem of absolutely falling apart. Fork and knife, then.
Our lunches were fantastic as well as the sensational desserts - all served in a homey atmosphere! Loved the Thai one on salad with grilled salmon .
My wife and I started off with pot stickers, butternut squash soup and we both had the pork schnitzel and it was absolutely amazing. Probably the best German food I ever had. Everyone was wonderful in this restaurant ...And oh yeah, the deserts were homemade and delicious!!!
Need heat lamps for the food! There on a cold day in January. .the first to be served in our party of six and it was tepid...no good if your vodka sauce congels...next meal out was the halibut special...fish was delish and proper temp but the side of pumpkin hash had been sitting around somewhere waiting for the fish. Even the starter, french onion soup came out at room temp....thats no good for the cheese. It was so disappointing since the flavors were great...just a temperature issue.
Buffalo chicken wrap was outstanding!! Better than anything I have had in Las Vegas.
Such a great little place !! Our first time there and I give this place 5 stars !! I admit I’m tough customer, but our server Jeremy, was top notch ! His mannerisms and table side etiquette were spot on. We had a roast beef/garlic sandwich that I’ll rave about for a long time. Hope to frequent this cute little place often in the future !
Made reservations today 12/28 for 7pm. We arrived and the restaurant was busy so we were told to wait at the bar, which is a matter of a few feet long where a group of 4 was already waiting for a table. Soon after another group of 5 or so walk in also. This is a very small room and even smaller bar with only a few stools. After waiting a while and multiple waitresses going behind the bar to make drinks for their tables, a man from one of the other parties turns to us and says something about the fact that they dont even have anyone at the bar making drinks for anyone waiting. So now two groups of people were irritated. They were finally seated and we were waiting still with more people piling into this tiny room. STILL. NO. BARTENDER. at 7:30 we decided to tell one of the waitresses that we were leaving after 30 minutes of waiting for a table for our 7:00 RESERVATION. Why take reservations at all???????So after explaining to her that weve been waiting for too long she apologized, and then I pointed out that in that 30 minutes they had no one making drinks for any of the numerous people that were waiting and I kid you not, her response was yeah.We live locally and have supported this business for years and have suggested it to friends and family who have also visited but the past few times Im embarrassed to say the least to have suggested it. On more than 3 occasions we have been there when the staff has begun to clean up for the night before their closing time of 9pm. They have swept around us at our table and put chairs up at tables surrounding us.WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING???This is a decent place to eat but for gods sake. Tell me where you have ever dined where staff has swept around you flicking the days dirt up into the air.
OMG! Great place in the middle of no where. We were just joking....What if it was so busy they would ask us if we had reservations? Then we opened the door and they were SO busy we kind of needed reservations..But we talked the in to taking us:)

Lovely little informal restaurant/grill, in the center of Afton village. The food is exceptional - my eight year old, a cheeseburger aficionado, declared it the best hes ever eaten. Granted, hes eight, but still, high praise! The menu is varied, and the prices are a little on the high side, but reasonable. Staff attentive, helpful, and friendly. I put in an average size order for 4 at around 7:25pm, and I picked up from the curbside at 7:50pm. Everybody was satisfied with their order.I will be a returning customer, and I would encourage anyone in the area to give this place a try!

Just there again yesterday. Food is amazing and ALWAYS consistent! This is a must when visiting Afton… Also, check out Hickory &Doc across the street!! Great antique shop with great prices and the friendliest owners! 2 must stops in Afton, NY
Food is fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The wait staff is attentive. The restaurant is attractive and cozy. Although I didnt have dessert they look wonderful. Love this place!
This was the first time I ate food from here. We ordered via phone to go. Food was done when we were told it would be. Prices are very reasonable. Their house salad was delicious. The chicken panini was recommended to me by a friend and was really good. Serving sizes were substantial.
Food good, extremely long wait , advertised cannoli price $1.25 each,this was a misrepresentation, actual price almost double. Male server attentive, female server lacked good customer service skills. She was more concerned with setting up tables left us standing at counter to set up a table and no one was waiting for the table.
Food was exceptional all around but the service was not. The waitor had a smile and good disposition but never brought a high chair he said he would, passed us for almost 20 minutes while taking orders from people who arrived after us with no notable reservations, didnt bring to go contianers after we asked so after ten minutes of waiting for that we just got them ourselves. It wasnt even packed full. We do love the food so maybe the kid was having a bad day idk

2022-06-21The food is divine, and the staff are so kind. We could tell it was a busy night and we got seated just before closing, but even still the staff was still so kind and helpful. Our waitress Tosha was especially fantastic. We will definitely be going back and referring to family and friends.

2021-10-23Amazing find! Should be on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. I recommend the Buffalo wings appetizer and vegetable panini. Wish we had time for the deserts. Ill be back for the coconut cream pie, coconut cake, carrot cake and all of the other crazy treats theyve got in the bakery.

2022-05-01Loved it, first time back since pandemic shutdowns. Food was timely and delicious. Service was great, only 3 staff bussing or serving but they were on it. I had the Enchilada, it was very good. It is only one even though menu says Enchiladas but 1 is enough! Wife had garlic shrimp, they were awesome as well and cooked perfectly, the roasted garlic cloves were an excellent touch.

2021-08-25Stopped here for lunch on way back to Ohio. Great small town cafe serving tasty lunches from a good size menu. But wait, dont leave without grabbing a dessert from the bakery case. What a bonus! What a selection.Grabbed a Raspberry Cake and it was so fresh and delicious. Marking this place as place I wanna return.

2022-04-24Food is good, and the specials are always great. Its usually packed for dinner, and is one of the more high end meal choices in the area. If youre a foodie, youll love it.Main downside is that the prices are rather expensive (but you get what you pay for, as far as quality and taste). Slices of dessert arent cheap. But there are plenty of cakes and pies to choose from — which is one of my favorite things about the restaurant. Just be prepared for sticker shock.

2022-03-02What a disappointment. Drove from Oneonta this afternoon to give this place a try for lunch. We came in through the front door. There was a clean table and a booth that needed to be cleared. We told the waitress (?) Or the owner (not sure because it is a small place) that we wished to sit at the booth. She said shed clear it and to give her a moment. We waited quietly and patiently for her to do so. Next thing I know, another couple comes in through the side/back entrance and she walks them over to the booth weve been waiting on (still dirty). I reminded her that we were there first and have been waiting on the booth. She says to me Did you make reservations? I said No, did I need to? She never answered me just continues to seat the second couple. The gentleman from the other party of two said We didnt either and she continues to seat them. I was stunned. My husband, who recently had surgery and would have been much more comfortable in the booth said What should we do? And I said well leave. She never said anything to us even though she could hear the other gentleman and us clearly. Not sure what that was all about. My husband thought maybe the other couple were regulars, but Ive worked in restaurants for years and have never in my life seen anything like what happened today.

2022-01-30We showed up with a party of 4 at five minutes to 8:00 unaware they were starting to close down the kitchen, and yet they sat us and said if you order right away we can make it happen, and they did! The food was delicious and we never felt like we were inconveniencing them!I highly recommend stopping by for a meal if you are in the area or driving by Afton NY.

2021-03-14My expirence was great. Good food. Good price. The service at my table was good. But I overheard the same server being rude to another table, so I took a star off. I really didnt like that. Also. I had the candy bar cheesecake cake. That will be my birthday cake next year 1000%
