This is the third time I have used Major homes for work on my house. This time, they replaced my front door and door frame. I have previously used them for my windows and roof. My installer and salesman for the door, Paul and Paul were both very informative, reassuring, and professional. I would not use any other contractor for my household needs.
Major Homes replaced and installed all my windows (I got Okna windows). The team at Major Teams (Paul, Russ and company) has been knowledgeable, responsive, and professional from start to finish.Having a local shop and installer was important to me because I did not find the big national chains as responsive to my questions and quote requests.From comparing different vendors quotes, I found pricing was extremely competitive with better quality products than what I was initially considering with other vendors.I am very satisfied with the experience, much more so than initially expected!
Returning customer.. Just had a front security door installed. I LOVE IT!!! So does my pooch Sparky, now he can look outside without struggling to go up step to the window sill. Paul did an amazing professional, clean, meticulous job. love my new door❣ . Worth every dollar. Its so quiet in the house now, the seal is perfect keeping out the noise and drafts. Major Homes installed our beautiful new remote controlled awning and resided the extension of our home. The quality of the materials and workmanship are excellent! They gave us a time frame of when the job would be done and gave us updates, letting us know exactly when the work would be done. I hired Major Homes to replace double hung windows in my house. The experience was pretty flawless from beginning to end. Workers showed up on time, did a great job, and left the place very clean. They were also very respectful when I asked them to wear masks while in the house which they did.The job was done quickly and about three hours after they finished Paul came by asking if he could see the job they did to make sure that everything’s OK. I thought that was a nice thing to do, and above and beyond any service I expected.I would highly recommend Major Homes if you have a project that needs to be done, and I will use them again
Paid this company to install a new roof & siding. After a few months the roof started leaking after my review one of the owners called me. Was very friendly & addressed my issues the next day. He also reassured me that going forward if I had any issues he would make it right. Thank you Mitch for restoring my faith in your company.
Major Homes did such a great job remodeling our kitchen and dining room that when it came to redo our two bathrooms we did not hesitate to call them. They just completed the bathroom remodels and we can’t say enough good things about the job they did. Their staff were all so professional and helpful.

I had new windows installed on 11/20, and they have since held up very well with a much more comfortable home during winters and summer seasons. Also the heating and cooling bill has definitely gone down since they were installed. The windows are absolutely very nice to look at as well.Jason came out and did a no pressure sales presentation, and we signed a contract for windows the same day. I had already used Major Homes a few years earlier for new windows and was happy to use them again. I think they are an excellent company, with the Okna windows being one of the best windows on the market. I did my research for both windows and installer and it was why I choose Major Homes to do my windows for the 2nd time. They have been around almost 100 years owned by one family name, and I’m sure Mr. Kersch who found this company many years ago, would be extremely proud his children are still doing business the correct way for their customers. Jason and his father Mitch are good people and would recommend them for any home improvement job.

When we decided to expand and renovate our home, it was the biggest decision we made aside from purchasing our home. Everyone warned us that this was going to be an extremely stressful and long process. We were warned that it was going to be a living nightmare. Apparently those people never worked with Major Homes, and specifically the project manager, Bud. When we first sat with Bud for our proposal he gave us a timeline of 6-8 weeks. We looked at him with a crooked eye and said, “REALLY?”. He didn’t flinch and just said “watch me”. After all our bids came in, we chose Major Homes for 2 main reasons. 1. Bud called me 2 weeks after his bid and said he wanted the job, it was hard to even get other bids let alone a timeline commitment. 2. His timeline was something we could not pass up. We didn’t want to be displaced for too long. I can’t say enough about how great this process was. Working with Bud was an absolute pleasure. He’s a man of his word and always has a solution to any problem. He will communicate to you weekly on what is happening and is accessible all the time. Trust in him, the job will get done right. My wife and I can honestly say that we are grateful to have been able to work with him. The quality of his product is excellent. I can’t express how much we love our new home. If you choose to go with Major Homes, you won’t be disappointed at all. One last tip, use their vendors. The team did quality siding work. They were quick and efficient. They are true professionals, therefore it may not be the cheapest option. However you get what you pay for, so if you want quality and accountability, then give these folks a call.
Mitch went above and beyond to help investigate and repair our stuck-open 20-year old discontinued slider window. Would use Major Homes for a bigger job without hesitation. Highly recommend!
Major Homes replaced over 20 windows in our 2 family home approximately 3 years ago and the job was impeccable! Jason and Paul are so professional, competent, precise,thorough, reliable and trustworthy! Several Winter seasons have passed and these windows are still very well insulated and still look brand new. When we decided to replace all the entry doors and security doors in our home in May 2021, We knew we could trust Major Homes with such a serious and important job. The wind storms this past year wreaked havoc with my roof. It was time for a new one. Having dealt with unreliable contractors in the past, I wasn’t looking forward to shopping for a new roof. Luckily, a friend recommended Major Homes. They had replaced their vinyl siding and windows and spoke highly of the owner Mitch, who had worked with them from the sale of the job to its completion. So, I decided to get an estimate from Major Homes. The owner Mitch helped me choose the best and most affordable product for my roof. Not only did Mitch arrive at my home on time, but as the job progressed, he answered my phone calls and emails within two minutes. It’s amazing to me that in this day and age, a company like Mitch’s still exists. The finished job was beyond my expectations. My roof has enhanced the features of my home along with the new gutters that Major Homes installed. I highly recommend Mitch and the people at Major Homes. You won’t be sorry.
We hired Major Homes 8+ years ago for a roof and gutter replacement. We recently had an issue with our gutters. I called Jason, he responded within 24 hours and sent a guy out the next day to assess the issue. My original job was out of warranty already but Jason fixed what needed to be fixed free of charge. My Wife and I moved into our house about 10 years ago and did a ton of renovation to it, top to bottom.By far the best experience with a General Contractor hands down was, and is, with Major Homes. They did windows (better windows at a lower price than the other bids) gutters, doors and even recommended a mason to do stone work around our home. The only thing I can say bad about Major Homes is that I didnt know about them when I first started working on my house. I would have had them do the whole project. Ive learned that you can spend less money, but youll never get the value Major Homes offers. Peace of mind and total confidence is what Jason and his team bring along with a job well done.Oh... one more thing. This spring they will be doing the siding on our home. As we were going over the contract and talking about the job I asked for some little extras to be done.... Most contractors would add those all to the bottom line. More than once Jason said no chargeYou owe it to yourself to speak with Major Homes when doing a home project. They are my first. and now, only call when I need something done.
I had my home vinyl sided by Major Homes in 2008. Yesterday, I noticed a piece of the siding loosened from the bottom. I called Mitch and the next day Carl was there and made the repair. Carl did a magnificent job. Best of all, Mitch said there would be no charge. I have had windows and door replaced by Major Homes over the years. Their craftsmanship is second to none. Major Homes did an impeccable job on our siding project. The computer drawings that Jason provided upfront were extremely useful in helping us decide on materials, and the final results looked exactly as in the drawings. Definitely recommended and would use them again.
I have used Major Homes in 2001 and was extremely satisfied with the work they did. They installed a full dormer in record time. I didnt hesitate to contact them to again for a new kitchen and bathroom. Their foreman Bud was always available and on the job site every single day until the work was completed. After having a bad indoor leak that was most likely originating from the roof, I immediately went online to find a licensed business. I searched on the BBB website and found this local company with 5 star reviews across the board. Carl was very responsive and came over to check out the roof. He was very honest and did not try to push services on us that he did not think we needed (like a complete roof Renovation).I love that they come with a binder as thick as a couch cushion & have actual samples of the materials they will use and photos of the work theyve done at other homes. He made it a point to come fix the roof before the next snowfall & good thing he did because we had a bad blizzard 2 weeks later. The roofer Karl was fantastic- a master at his work. No leaks & the roof has been fixed with high quality materials. Great price, invested employees, and efficient. I definitely will be calling them back for any other home improvements in the future.THANK YOU CARL & TEAM!
We hired Major Homes to replace multiple windows and doors on our house. We had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this business. The sales associate Jason was really helpful in walking us through the different options and styles that would best suite our house. We found the perfect windows and doors at a price point that was very reasonable. The installation was performed by seasoned carpenters who were able to seamlessly install the windows and doors into our old house. All in all, it was a great experience and we will definitely use Major Homes again when we need to replace more windows and doors. Make sure to ask for Jason, he really knows his stuff!!!
I have called on Major Homes for major work on my house, like a new roof, all new windows, new door and iron gate. Ive had my windows for over 15 years now and no issues, door and iron gate too.It has been over two years since I called on Major Homes. I asked Jason for his opinion on whether or not I needed a new roof at a rental property. He said he would look into it for me. He kept me up to date on his progress. His father took a look for me and told me that I did not need a new roof and if I did need anything for the roof, gave me a reference (because Major Homes does not do commercial roofing). I asked Jason for his opinion because I trust he would give me one honestly and they did. They did not have to do this for me but they did and Im grateful.Whatever work they have done for me has been outstanding. I do not have problems with any of it. If I do have a problem, they give it attention immediately. I wish every service was like them. Im planning on major work soon and they are the ones Ill be calling and you should too. I cannot recommend them enough.

It is so very rare these days that when a company you hire to perform some services, not only actually does them without any problems or complaints, but does them ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY!! It is stunning.I have had quite a lot of work done to my home recently. But what Major Homes did for me stands head and shoulders above all the rest in quality workmanship and care. The services I needed from Major Homes was to replace a side garage door and front window shutters.My salesperson, Paul Blass, came to my house and showed me the different door models and went over all the available options. He was professional, friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable, which actually helped me in choosing the proper door and shutters for my needs.The workman Major Homes sent over to install everything was Nelson. He is a perfectionist and the results speak for themselves. I cannot thank him enough for what he did. He worked all day on this. Yes, Nelson took all day because of the EXTREME care that he took in making sure everything would fit exactly right and end up looking great! I could not be happier with my new garage door and window shutters! Nelson practices the lost art of taking pride in his work by using the adage measure twice and cut once. Going back 7 years ago I used Major Homes to perform a complete renovation of my then new home- demolition, roofing, gutters, siding, windows, doors. It was a whole new house by the time they were done and I was satisfied with every aspect of the job. The price was reasonable, my project coordinator (Bob) was very helpful and attentive, and the few times we ran into problems (not unexpected on job of this size) they were quickly solved. Fast forward 7 years and I find that part of the flashing on the front of the house had come loose and was dangling from the roof. Not knowing the proper fix and that part of the roof being inaccessible to me, I wanted to find a professional to repair it. This work being out of warranty I still thought Id start with Major Homes if for no other reason than they might have the same materials to match the existing flashing. I reached out to Bob who told me they would come by and fix it for no charge. Wow! A company that stands by their work! Hard to come by these days. Sure enough the employee who would be handling the job coordinated with me to set up a date and time to come by and they did it while I was at work. Everything was fixed and the area clean of debris- you wouldnt even know they were there. If youre looking to get anything done give them an opportunity to impress you with not just their workmanship, but the quality of their service.

My husband and I needed to replace gutters that were knocked down after a wind storm and decided to also redo the 20+ year old siding for our house in Yonkers. John T. came to the house and did an excellent job explaining the work and different options. He never pressured us to go in any particular direction and gave lots of great info. After reviewing a few options and based on the experience we had with John, we chose Major Homes to do the work. Al and his team were awesome. Removing the old siding exposed some areas that needed some TLC, and they handled it quickly and at a reasonable price.Once it was all done it was like a brand new house. My home needed roof repairs and I called multiple roofing companies for estimates. Most never even returned my phone call and the few that did were not interested in the job and were downright rude as I initially thought it would just be a repair and not a replacement. I learned of Major Homes as they were doing a job for a neighbor across the street. I called and immediately knew that I was dealing with a professional business. Jason was kind, knowledgeable and understanding of my situation. He came to my home for an estimate and he went above and beyond to help me in any way that he could. He treated me like a friend rather than a client. He said that he would be happy to do the repair for me. In the end I had the entire roof replaced as it made more sense and I knew that the job would be done correctly. I couldn’t be happier with the entire experience . In the future I will be replacing windows and gutters and there is no one else I would call other than Major Homes. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

During the home consultation visit, I was pleased with the price and the fact they were a family owned business. They didnt disappoint. They kept in touch with me with the status of the delivery and install date. Upon installation, Paul and Nelson were so knowledgeable and professional. They worked so diligently through the extreme heat and then the pouring rain that followed. This was no fly-by-night installation. We had a major roof leak and needed an emergency repair. I contacted Jason (owners son) at Major Homes, explaining him the urgency. He assured me that someone will call me soon. Within 15 minutes his father Mitch called me and made arrangement for a roofing specialist to come over and fix the roof, professionally. That is the kind of service Major Homes provides. I contracted Major Homes to repair my roof, and they came exactly at the appointed time for the estimate. They gave me a time of 4-6 weeks for the repair, but the leak got worse & I called them. They worked with me to come that week, and again came exactly at the appointed time. After the repair I noticed that my gutter was off line, and I emailed them. Mitch worked around my schedule & sent men to repair it at no cost. Again they arrived promptly. I am very impressed with Mitchs customer service & responsiveness & will definitely recommend them to others & use them again!
Installed storm door. Although there was a long delay in ordering due to supply chain issues, installation went well and the door is protecting our house from any water damage and better front door security.

Major Homes Corp did change the vinyl siding, gutters, and windows for my home and I wanted to leave my review for their great work, detailed explanation before the contract, and timely responsiveness. After the work was completed, I reached out to Major Homes and asked them to help fix small siding part since I replaced the air conditioner with different size in one of my 2nd floor rooms, and this was not their responsibility. Major Homes responded to me promptly and agreed to send a service person to fix it.Im adding more to my review above since the after-service was superb by fixing the small empty siding space. The service person was in great preparation by calling me to find out what he needed prior to coming out to my house. Thanks so much for all your help.
We used Major Homes for a complete window replacement job and, in this windy winter, I am so glad we went with Major Homes: all of the things they promised were fulfilled. We went through many long-winded demos, estimates, and unreturned phone calls (yes, some window companies didn’t seem to need our business). Jason, son of the company owner, made it seem like I was dealing with a friend who was trying to hear my needs, inform me, and get me the best value for my money all at the same time. I felt little pressure, and lots of attention to detail; he was even able to guarantee me (in writing) that a complex part of the job (that other companies simply declined to even give an estimate for [installation of our front bow window]) would be completed securely - that was impressive! The Okna windows we bought are sturdy, beautiful, top-of-the-line and in our budget. The crew were polite experts who treated our home with great respect. And if there was another small project that I was looking to do, Jason was sure to recommend a reliable person to offer that service; I was able to check four more things off my home repair list based on his recommendations in the 5 weeks I contracted him (it was approximately that long to have the windows fabricated and then installed in 1.5 days). We also ordered a badly needed storm door from Major Homes, and Jason gave us a great deal. I’m not necessarily looking forward to more home renovations, but I definitely feel like Major Homes is a trustworthy, knowledgeable group of experts I can turn to should I need to. See for yourself: they aim to please!

We recently had Major Homes replace a bow window with a beautiful new Okna bow window! They did an amazing job, from coming to give an estimate where Jason was super polite and helpful, to install day where the crew was neat and did a great job. We’ve had Major Homes do multiple project on our home over the last 25 years and all have been great! They recently renovated a bathroom which they did an amazing job and did it in a timely fashion. Major Homes has been my go to for several projects around my home. Theyve repaired my roof, replaced the old entryway doors and storm doors, and replaced a few windows. Carl is a wonderful and personable salesperson who understood our needs and budget for each job. In fact, everyone I spoke to and who worked in our home was responsive and professional. The work was done quickly, efficiently and cleanly. Once they were gone, it was like they were never there, except for the new and better whatever we asked for. Eventually, I will do more work and Major Homes will be my first and only call.

I did my 1400 sq ft. Roof in the Fall with Major Home and they did a great job at reasonable price compared to others. Jason was knowledgeable in explaining the roofing process and finished on on time. The team was professional throughout the job. I also gave them the second job in Spring for 10 windows and they did a great job as well with nice finishing details. I am a busy person with a full family and need the jobs to finished on time with quality and Major Home delivers. I will definitely use them again.

Weve dealt with Major Homes for 25 plus years. One week ago we were having a couch delivered but the delivery people couldnt get the old couch out the door to deliver the new one.We called Major Homes to help us. They came to check out the situation and decided to have the couch cut up inside the house. They covered everything up. The men worked very hard to help us, and they took the pieces of the couch away for us - no fee.Once again they continue to come through for their clients. I highly recommend if anyone needs any type of work done, big or small, they should consider calling Major Homes. They are the best contractors around, reliable and trustworthy.
I had Okna windows installed through major homes in summer 2019. I am posting this review now after living through one winter season. I am glad to report that the installation and the windows both were great. Jason was professional and followed through regularly in the process of signing the contract. I never felt being pushed and he respected my wish to explore all my options.Their windows installation manager Russ is amazing. He saved me on one big casement window installation. He was the only one (among multiple companies that I had explored) who told me that the large old Pella window I had was fine and the wood had some water marks but it was not rotten/swollen. I just needed to put a washer in the hinge to allow proper closure of the window. - was able to do it myself with the help of a friend. Greatly appreciate his honesty. He could have easily lured me into adding one more window into their existing contract. The installation was much faster/efficient than I had expected. They were professional and did a great job including the cleanup.Overall, I am a happy customer!
I had replacement windows installed by them 18 years ago. They were very quick, professional and clean. Replaced all my windows from basement to attic in two days. Great quality windows also.I recently had some issues with them and contacted them to see if they were still under warranty. The owner bent over backwards to help me out to get replacement parts for such old windows. He got me everything I needed and there was no charge. This was a true testament that they stand behind their work and their products. I would definitely use them again and most definitely recommend them to friends and family .
I used Major Homes to replace my roof in August 2017 in Brooklyn, NY. I recently noticed a leak on the bathroom ceiling on my 1st floor extension. I emailed Major Homes and Mitch (Owner) quickly returned my call and scheduled his employee to come out. His employee quickly identified the problem and fixed the issue before I had any damage. Major Homes, Mitch and his team are great! They stood by their work almost 3 years after they installed my new roof. We’ve used Major for a number of projects over the years, including replacing all windows and a sliding door at my condo and installing a steel security door. This year, they replaced gutters and siding and installed an awning. They do quality work that will leave you satisfied. You may pay a bit more, but it is worth it. I would recommend them if you want an excellent job.

I needed new windows for about half of my main floor. Major had replaced the other half about 15 years ago and those windows are still like new. Excellent top shelf company, starting with the initial presentation provided by John Tanturri Jr, who was personable and exceptionally knowledgeable and professional. Russ took all of the measurements, asked all the right questions and subsequently kept me updated on the production and delivery of the windows. The installation team showed up on time and provided fas, efficient and clean work. Their craftsmanship was as good as it gets.

Major Homes just replaced our front entry and security doors. Jason was very patient and helpful in picking styles and the options we wanted. In our case we supplied the mail slot and a second deadbolt.Paul did a wonderful job on the installation.Paul has a great work ethic.The installation is very solid, neat, looks great.The doors themselves are great quality, as well as the hardware that we chose.We did not do much comparison shopping for this. They were highly recommended by a friend. I think they might be on the pricy side but they provide quality materials and workmanship.We are very satisfied and would definitely recommend them.

Last month was the 6th time that Major Homes has done work for us: this includes installation of 12 windows on 3 occasions, 3 doors on one occasion, replacing gutters on one occasion, and cleaning gutters on one occasion. Each time the service was done well within the promised time, and done exceedingly well with excellent materials. The employees were always courteous and willing to attend to our special needs. I was particularly impressed with the courtesy, patience, and knowledge of architecture, materials and products of Carl Dipresso, the salesman who took our recent order for doors and windows. In particular he knew exactly what special changes had to be made in the doorway architecture to assure that a new door would be made wide enough for my wife to be able to get through with her wide walker.
This is an A+++ company, not just for roofing but one of the most caring and professional companies I’ve ever come across. It’s refreshing as I’ve had a lot of nightmare experiences with contractors. Everyone I dealt with, from the receptionist, salesperson, roofer, to the owner truly seemed to care about me and the service/product they provided. Once you hire them, they’re extremely loyal to you. They really care about their brand and what people think of them. Most companies don’t want to be bothered after they finish the job. These guys are different. They appreciate your business and show you.The salesperson spent an afternoon answering all my questions and teaching me about the roof and exactly what they were going to do. He even had samples of the materials.I had Major Homes replace my roof a year ago and I recently started having a leak. Long story short, I had masons and window people come and they tried blaming the roof. I called Major Homes and they immediately put me in touch with the owner, Mitch. He had his guys come right out twice and inspect the roof and resealed some parts even though they didn’t believe the leak was coming from the roof. Mitch made himself available any day of the week and walked me through his thoughts on what was causing the leak, even though it wasn’t from them.Their prices are extremely reasonable and the quality of their work is top notch. A lot of contractors will leave a mess after they’re done working but these guys cleaned everything up before they left. I could go on and on but I will be using these guys for any projects I need that they can do.For all you reading this, I’d stop your search and work out a deal with these guys. I’ve never had any issues with them and just the piece of mind knowing these guys will make sure everything’s right even long after the job is invaluable.
Redoing the roof is always stressful, so went we had multiple services came to provide a quote. I was impressed by Jason from major homes, he actually went up the roof and inspected himself. He was very detailed on what needs to be done and different materials needed. The price was up there, but the professional service was worth it. Major Homes is a bit more expensive than other contractors, however, you get what you pay for… Their work is excellent and professional... they will come back and fix any problem for years after their work is completed. They have done several jobs for me, all of which have come out perfectly. Whenever I hear peoples horror stories with contractors, one thing that I know immediately is that they could not have gone to Major Homes.Whether big jobs [new roof, gutters, windows] or small [one or two pieces of siding lost to Hurricane Sandy], I have always found them to be prompt, diligent, professional, reliable, and reasonably priced. You always hope you wont need their services, but its so nice to know theyre there if you do! In fact, at one point I had a minor problem/question regarding some prior service. Someone came, examined, and did what was necessary ................ and it was all covered.And talk about prompt!?! You get an almost immediate response to any email.And then there is my snow removal. The ONLY REASON I can travel without worry during the winter is knowing that the guys from Major Homes will be taking care of my snow removal. Approximately 11 years ago I contracted with Major Homes to replace the roof on my house.Extremely pleased with the entire process, from the complete itemized contract detailing items to be used thru the completion of the work. An entire roof ( 120 feet X 100 feet) stripped down to the plywood and replaced all done in 6 hours. I contacted Major Homes when my roof began to leak. It turned out a few shingles had blown off, so they made the repair and told me I didn’t need a new roof.I called them again, 2 years later and asked that they check on the roof again since it’s getting old and may need replacing.Jason stopped by same day and told me the roof is ok and should last a few more years, call him again in 2 years and he’ll recheck it for us.Major Homes is professional and treats customers fairly. A new roof is expensive, and I’m sure there are some shady companies that would have told me it needed replacing.I appreciate the honesty and integrity of Major Homes and wouldn’t call anyone but them in the future.

In the last five years, Major Homes replaced all 11 windows, both external doors, the entire gutter system, and siding at my parents’ home, as well as rebuilt the front porch. With each job, we could rely on the timeliness and quality of their work which literally transformed the look of the house. What is most impressive about this company is the owner Mitch Kersch’s personal and immediate response to helping clients address a problem or an issue. For example, I e-mailed him yesterday that the bolt in the front door (installed 3 years ago) had become misaligned and was not locking properly. Within minutes, he replied (this is typical of Mitch who somehow manages to respond to e-mails in lightning speed) and within 2 hours, Paul (who originally installed the door) stopped by and fixed the problem at no charge. We remember Paul well because of his meticulous attention to detail and top-quality workmanship. Major Homes is the type of family-owned company you want to hire not only for its professional quality work but because the owner himself truly cares about his clients and goes over and beyond to help them at all times. Major Homes has been our go to window specialists for several of our window projects. They are punctual, give honest estimates, and left our home as if they were never there! Absolutely top notch. From the opening intro from John from sales (who kept every promise) to project manager Al (who has the patience of a saint) the highly professional windows installation (kudos to Russ, Peter and crew) the aluminum siding (Luis and his excellent crew) and our gutters/leaders job (Thank you, Billy.) Each phase exceeded our (high) expectation. These guys worked through the rain, the cold and even high humidity (in this crazy Fall weather) to get our job done in a very timely fashion. The work is beautiful. These guys are a home run and will be our go to phone call for all future home remodeling projects and will get our word of mouth recommendations.

I reached out the the owner of Major Homes, Mitch, to get a unbiased opinion on window manufacturers. I dont live in his serviceable area and unfortunately cant hire them to do the job I need (and I was upfront with him about that). I expected to maybe get a quick one or two line response by email if anything at all. Not only did he get back to me within minutes, but took time out of his day to answer all my questions over the phone and provided honest and straightforward feedback. All this with knowing that he wouldnt get anything from his time other than helping out a stranger. I really appreciate the selfless gesture and hope that I can find a similar contractor in my area. So, when Hurricane Sandy destroyed the lower level of my home I turned to Major Homes to rebuild my home. To say the least, it was an extremely difficult project because of the complete flooding of the entire level of the home. To make it more challenging, I had to remain in my home during the project and had an immense amount of documentation required as well as the challenge to get my insurance proceeds.The awesome handling of the project was beyond description with an incomparable project manager and the most professional and courteous sub-contractors. Each person from Major Homes acted more like a relative than a worker. They were faultlessly clean and quiet and left the premises each day extremely clean with no debris or dust laying around. The job was also started and completed in exactly the time they estimated and the work was perfect. To wit, I had my own painter come in to paint the and he commented that he never saw a job done so well and left in such a perfect ready to paint condition. Of special note is how the owner, Mitch Kersch, is available 7 days a week for any calls and/or e-mails. I only had to call him to compliment his people and he answered his phone and quickly responded to all his e- mails.However, that is not really why I am taking the time out to write this review. Again, as a former executive that built two major companies, as a sales representative and as a consultant in the industry, I have seen so many companies and so many projects in my career. I can also look back at the jobs at my neighbor’s/friend’s homes and heard them complain about their projects. Then I think about my home and project and marvel at how well everything has lasted and been so durable. I have had no call-back issues, no product failure, no dissatisfaction with anything done and only good memories…after a horrific event. We recently had 9 windows replaced by Major Homes. The experience was excellent throughout.Major Homes was the recommended contractor in our area by OKNA. OKNA was the brand I had settled on after sifting through dozens of window manufacturers. They offered excellent energy efficiency ratings and a lifetime warranty that could be transferred.My experience started with salesman John. He was very respectful and personable. Since I had already settled on OKNA, he didn’t spend hours trying to oversell the windows. He just reinforced the main features in the model I was interested in (OKNA 500) and let me see the display model. He listened to what I wanted and didn’t try to upsell me. When the time came for negotiation, he gave me a very competitive price and didn’t pressure me to agree to a deal immediately.I really appreciated all this because we previous had Power Home Remodeling come in and the salesman stayed for 4+ hours until nearly 11pm. He also had multiple exploding offers that were for that day only. The price dropped by more than half the original offer and it still came out to over 800 per window.The difference in experience was night and day. I ended up agreeing to a deal with John the same day he came in for the quote. I even ordered an extra window based on John’s no BS approach.Once the deal was agreed, Russ the project manager came out to remeasure the windows. This took maybe 15 minutes tops. Then a few weeks later, once the windows were ready, he emailed me to arrange an installation date. All this was straight forward and seamless.On the day of installation, 3 crew members arrived. Two installed windows while 1 cleaned up. They were extremely efficient and tidy. They installed 9 windows in under 3 hours and left the work area clean.Overall, I cannot recommend Major Homes enough. They were extremely professional and very fair on price. We also couldn’t be happier with the quality of the windows.
About 2 or 3 years ago Major Homes did a great job replacing vinyl siding & storm doors on my house. Recently one of the latches on a storm door failed. I called Major Homes to fix this minor problem. Their team was friendly & responsive. The problem has been fixed in a timely manner. Thank you!!

Recently this Dec. 2018, I had a large second floor A/C removed and a new canopy window put in. As usual, I was more than pleased. When I e/mail Mitch the owner, I get an immediate response...This is how he is and will always be, direct and honest..one price and more than fair. The workers under the manager Russ ( and Russ a true gentleman as well ) were quiet, diligent, neat and professional. Years ago, Major Homes in Bayside did my siding and roof and all other windows. I have never had an issue and if I ever do, as I said, you get an immediate response. I feel very secure knowing how this is a family owned business for over 90 years and they will be there for the long term..good people.

I have been dealing with this company since 2001. I brought 10 windows , two entrance doors, a bay window and a sliding door for my backyard. They explained everything in detail. Very professional. Had a problem with some of the windows and they promptly took care of it. Once my backyard started clouding up and I called them and they replaced the whole door !I gave them 5 stars because they deserve it.
Major homes has been a pleasure to do business with. Jason has been especially helpful. I replaced 16 windows in my home over the course of the last 5 years and I’m very happy with the product. Recently one of the seals failed on a double hung sash. I reached out to Jason and he immediately replied to my email looking to replace the sash. Two years ago Major Homes installed new basement windows in my home. Excellent windows and an outstanding installation job. Today I had a problem with one of the windows, so I called for service. The service was as good or better than the installation. My problem is resolved and I again reward this company a 5 Star review.
We had nine Okna 500 series windows installed by Major Homes. Windows appear to be excellent, thus far. Installation went smoothly. A couple of minor issues were promptly and satisfactorily resolved. John Tanturri, made sure all was delivered and installed, as promised. We would definitely use Major Homes again.
Major homes did a great job for the good amount of windows replace at the building, workers on time, fast and did an excellent job. Price was reasonable compare to other contractors. I Will be looking forward for future work from them to improve my home.

Major Home replaced my roof and skylight in 2014. I have not experienced any issues since then. Recently, Major Home just applied a coating to my roof with just one email from me. The experience was amazing and seamless.

I got my windows done a little more than a year ago through Major Homes. I live in a gated community that is currently re-doing the siding. When there contractors ripped the siding off he saw that the windows were not nailed into the studs nor were they screwed in! As soon as the contractor showed me I called Major Homes right away! The owner Mitch picked up the phone. I explained the situation and he insisted that his guys (who they sub let the work out to) definitely did it properly and that I was completely wrong and I had no idea what I was talking about. (I was the office manager at a restoration company for years. He did not want to help me AT ALL!! He then proceeded to say I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and that I wasn’t having a good day. He went on and on and then finally he said he was taking my information out of the system and that he wasn’t going to help!! Then he hung up the phone!!!! IF ANYONE IS LOOKING FOR A PROFESSIONAL CONTRACTOR TO DO ANYTHING PLEASE DO NOT CALL MAJOR HOMES!!!!! THE OWNER ACTS LIKE A 3 YEAR OLD AND DOESN’T CARE ABOUT THE WORK HIS COMPANY DOES. During a windy night a piece of the vinyl sliding on our home was ripped off. We called Major Homes and having had their service before they offered to fix the damages and replace the sliding for free. Very grateful for their service which was professional and quick.

March 2018 when we had 4 noreasters in NY some of the siding on my parents house flew off. A contractor friend in the city recommended me to Jason and his crew out in nassau county long island. They informed me that they were a little backed up with the 3rd snowstorm, but they gave me a timeline and contacted me on when they could come by to fix it. My parents called me up when they arrived and called me when they completed their work, which didnt take long. My father liked their work and how quickly they accomplished it. For that I give them 5 stars and will be contacting them again in the future.
The customer service from major homes is nothing short of amazing !I had a problem with a window that was installed a few years ago and called on Saturday morning. Tina was able to walk me through the process and get it resolved !I wasn’t even sure anyone would answer the phone on a Saturday morning let alone take the time to get my problem resolved !My entire family has been using major homes for many many years and we all highly recommend this amazing family business .

We have been using Major Homes since we bought our house 37 years ago.The latest project we had done was our full bathroom. The results came out just like we wanted it to be. I would recommend Major Homes for everything that needs to be done in your house.
Needed a piece of siding fixed, it came loose. One company I called refused to come although they were only a few miles away. Second company wanted a thousand dollar minimum. Major Homes responded quickly to my phone call and because I was so close to them, they gave me a reduced price to fix the siding. Very impressed with their service.
My mother’s “3 week” reno of her kitchen and bathroom took nearly 6 months of pulling teeth to finish.They subcontracted out the work and would send 1 guy one week to do a few hours of work here and there. The salesman/contractor had no idea what the workers were up to, and the workers were confused as to what to do. And they all hated him. He blamed the delays on everybody except himself.However, when I finally called the office to complain, the receptionists and owner’s son were very respectful and apologetic. I should’ve called to complain sooner. Perhaps the project would’ve moved along much faster, but it was half way or 3/4 of the way through and we didn’t want to piss off the salesman/contractor by calling his boss. There was no way we could’ve gotten another company to finish the work. So, we waited and waited and waited and heard one excuse after another, for months.In the end, I did some of the finishing work and cleaned out their trash so that my mother could finally move into her apartment. The kitchen work was excellent. The bathroom...not so much. Different sub contractors. And we waited a couple more months for them to come back and finish off a few finishing touches. Total of nearly 6 months for a “3 week” job.I would probably still give my business to these guys bc of how the office handled the complaint. And I think any business can fall victim to a lousy employee. But I would definitely make sure to not pay them unless they met certain deadlines. I would have a timeline written into the contract. Live and learn I guess.Update: Feb 2018I’m bumping this review up to 3 stars only because of how courteous the office was, and because I got a call back after the initial review asking me to reconsider the 1 star review and to possibly take it off.Sorry. I can’t it off. My wife and I went through too much aggravation and even fights over how to handle the 6 month long ordeal. My mother went through too much worry while living in my daughter’s tiny nursery for months on a project that was supposed to last 3-4 weeks.But I will fix it because he was courteous and I would honestly give them another chance if given another project manager and a more detailed contract with strict timelines. And because this is a business and we all need to make a living. But, I still have to tell the truth and help protect fellow customers from months of aggravation.It really could just depend on which salesman or project manager you get and how the whole job is handled and sub contracted out. I’m sure it’s hit or miss like most businesses.Hopefully this review helps out fellow customers and helps the company to improve their operations. Having me take off the review or adjust it too much won’t help any other customers, and wouldn’t help the company in the long run. People need to know. And if companies really care about their business, they need to hear constructive criticism and improve their operations.

Major Homes was the 3rd GC we had bid the renovation of our store but Majors Joe Matelsky was the first to realize there was a serious problem with the plans. They got the job then. If we had gone with another GC we would have had to pay for the reno and then pay for the correction. You might find other honest contractors but you wont find as smart contractors. GCs typically call every few days reporting some unforeseen problem that is going to cost you more money. It is not that they are necessarily dishonest but that they did not think enough about the project before hand. We received ZERO surprise calls from Major. We have asked Major to hold on to our store keys. If there was ever a problem while we were away there is no one else we would trust going into our store
I called Major Homes on a Wednesday because I need a piece of peak capping replaced. I heard from Jason the same day. Carl showed up the next morning, took measurements, and later that day Carl and Freddy came back and replaced the capping. All within 24 hours! Thank you for an amazingly quick response! This company does not know the first thing about customer service. But the FISH ROTS FROM THE HEAD. I called fkr an estimte for a bathroom and 15 Okna windows. The sales guy show up confused and without any samples to discuss. He then ask me for a future appoint to bring in a designer. I allowed. Upon that future appointment he calls to say he cant make. I understood his personal issue and said he would try to meet in a few days. I weeks passes and he calls to make an appointment for two weeks in the future. This us now a month with the shenanigans. I take the future appointment although pissed. He calls to confirm and asked Are you taking the appointment or not . I told him not. I also called to express my concerns with the owner who then says he will not place blame on anyone and wishes me the best. Blame? How about and apology for lack of respect. Stat away

2022-03-23Major homes helped us with new windows, doors and siding. They did a beautiful job on what used to be our old drafty house. Our home is now refreshed and properly sealed from the elements. 2021-12-17Major Homes was contracted my me to replace my roof and install new siding/soffits/gutters. They were a pleasure to work with. Their crews were clean, friendly, and on time. We didn’t find a single roof nail on our property after they cleaned up and left. The siding took a bit longer as materials were not available, but they were clear and prompt in their communication. I had a question about work that was done and the next day they sent someone out to address my concerns. The workmanship is top notch. Our neighbors were thrilled with the quickness and cleanliness of the work/workers. The price was fair for work like this in the middle of a pandemic and their financing option took a lot of the pressure off.10/10 would recommend to anyone.

2022-05-27We consulted with Major Homes after seeing the wonderful job they did on our neighbors’ window installation. They came for a consultation and presented a variety of window and door options. After we chose the windows they sent someone to measure everything about a week later. It took about 2.5 months for the windows we ordered to arrive (keeping in mind there are supply chain issues due to the ongoing pandemic). On the day of installation, they arrived on time with an entire team. They worked quickly and efficiently. They cleaned along the way and removed all the debris as well. We are extremely pleased with the installation and the Okna windows. Thank you Major Homes!

2021-04-08We hired Major Homes to replace most of the windows in our house. I am happy with every aspect of my interaction with them. Jason, the person who gave us the quote and described the windows was prompt, clear, obviously very knowledgeable (I think he said his father started the company, but I could be mis-remembering that) and did *not* try a very heavy sales pitch on us. There was no issue at all when we said wed get back to him at a later date about our decision (unlike other estimates we got). He just offered us a reasonable price on high-quality window replacements. After starting, the job was done quickly and done really well. The work crew was courteous and professional and they cleaned up after themselves really well. They noted places where the wood around the window was rotting and replaced that for us at a reasonable cost. The only thing we are left with are beautiful and beautifully installed windows. I am just so happy with these windows. I knew new windows would look better and be more energy efficient, but I didnt realize just *how much* better they would look. We are now scheduling a time when they can do the remaining windows in the house. I wish I could hire this company for all of my home-improvement needs.

The Salesperson was thorough and kept in contact throughout the job, making sure it was done perfectly. They really made sure that I was satisfied with the work, and I could tell that my satisfaction was important to them. The installing crew was courteous and professional and did a great job. 2021-12-16We used major home for replacing our windows and entrance doors and also for awnings installation. The quality of products they use and workmanship is excellent. And they staying behind their work. We had a problem with one of the bathroom window (fogging ), after phone call they made an appointment and replace the window without any extra cost to us. With our second awning which has a bit tricky shape , was some discrepancies in measurements.Which they figured out before the installation and installer come himself to remeasure. And also give us good advice how to better shape it. They are very professional, always on time. I would definitely recommend them. The only downside that they are fairly expensive, but I guess you get what you are paying for. We worked with other contractors which were pretty good, but so far with level of professionalism they are way above than anybody we were working .
