Terrible service called 30 minutes before closing and they didnt want to take my order plus they over charge their customers
This is my first ever review on a restaurant, but honestly I feel like I have to say something on this. First I ordered (on UberEats) Grilled Chicken and they sent me stewed chicken! Which btw tasted so bad! The chicken was like burned and tasted like reheated from the day before, so disgusting !!! I ended up throwing everything to the garbage! When you order in person there they will gave you “decent” tasting food but if you order online or by phone they wont mind to sent you whatever they have left and really bad cooked! trust me! Is not my first time ordering from this place, its been a long time and I thought I could give this people a last chance! But NEVER AGAIN!!! So bad that I can’t give this place 0 Stars!!!Do not order from this restaurant if you dont want to throw your money away!
I can’t believe what I just dealt w at this establishment. I ordered 2 dinners, $45 including tip and only half arrived (1 of both dinners). That’s not the worst part... when I contacted the restaurant tonight at approx 925pm. Whom ever picked up initially explained that it must’ve been the driver that took out the food. Fine - that could’ve been a possibility. The issue was when I was trying to ask if there was anyway they could contact the delivery service to have them deliver the other half of our dinner, the employee became EXTREMELY upset and beyond rude. I literally had to stop the conversation and ask her why she was yelling. She had no idea what I was attempting to ask ans wouldn’t even allow me to speak. I’ve been in hospitality 20 years and would never speak to someone who experienced an already bad service with my /Our business. One would’ve thought it was me that was the one that was in the wrong here! I hung up confused on what had just occurred. So I ended up with my dinner never arriving and treated HORRIBLY by the restaurant . LOSE LOSE!!

So I called and spoke to someone two days before my event. The person gave me a different price for something than what I saw on the website. Ok whatever that happens sometimes businesses don’t update their website. So they told me I needed to drop off the money the day before my event. So when my husband goes to pay he’s being ignored for like 20min from a nasty lady. Then she proceeds to tell him a different price. So right now we have a price on the website a price from the lady I spoke to on the phone and another one from the person in the restaurant. When I told her that’s wrong she Gave me an attitude. I told her the name of the person I spoke to, Miguelina and she said yes that’s my sister she’s wrong that’s not the price, with an attitude. So you’re wrong you know you’re wrong and you still have an attitude about it. We left and didn’t order anything. Don’t recommend horrible horrible experience. And when I tried calling to clarify some guy picked up and said I don’t know anything and hung up. Lol you can’t make this up.

Pure shthole. Whoever runs this dark and dungeon like Malecon outpost (or outhouse) needs to possibly visit the Broadway location to see and taste the difference. I lived across the street from the main location for many years and know exactly what the legendary, MARINATED Malecon chicken is supposed to taste like. This chicken tastes and eats a lot like the dry, overcooked chicken you find in the warmer at ShopRite.The mofongo? Its more like mangu swimming in sauce.If the decor doesnt scare you into turning around the emptiness of the restaurant should. Theres clearly a reason no one was in there last night.And one last thing, hopefully adding a $2 fee to the check of people who pay with a credit card (in 2021) might help the guy who drives the Range Rover to afford to turn on some lights so you can see what youre eating after sundown in this dungeon.Eat any place else and avoid this dirt hole.
I thought the chicken parmigiana had spaghetti :/ but it didnt however my husbands steak was delicious.
Too much grease on the 3 golpes. The food from malecon bronx and malecon Manhattan taste much better. (Im guessing different owners/ management). Nonetheless this place is a disaster. Bad customer service and bad food! Wouldn’t recommend
I never had a bad experience from Malecon at this location. Their food is very tasty; I recommend the skirt steak (churrasco). I do miss their Mofongo de Cerdo (without the cheese), my family does not really like the cheesy taste with the mofongo. Other than that, one of my favorite restaurants to get Hispanic food. Frequent Uber eats customer.

Is so sad that they are not wearing the masks😷 or they are wearing it under the chin I been going 3 or 4 times to try to buy food but I feel so insecure when I see this safety issue. I dont want to catch the virus because they are not wearing masks I really hope someone take an action to correct this problem I really love your service and food but until I dont feel safe I will not go..!! maybe you think is only me how can see this but I bet you some one else do too!!!

Consistently good Latinx cuisine and good service - except maybe from the cashier who appears to think she has no need to be nice since all she does is collect the money and answer phone orders. Even then I can hear her attitude when talking to customers. If they got rid of her, If give them 5 stars.
The food and service were good, although and paid more attention to my friend than me. I thought it was a little pricey but I enjoyed myself.
Fast service, good customer service, but the stewed meat and stewed beans are terrible, no dominican style, the meat has no color, no good taste, too much oil, awful. I threw it away, the beans were better than last time, but still no good taste is like the cooker only added tomato sauce into it and thats it, the yellow plantains were burnt and dry terrible too, at least the chicken and white rice were decent. They need a dominican cooker a very good one or train the one the have because the way he or she are cooking the stewed meat and beans are terrible
I love Malecon, but the food at this particular location in Yonkers isnt as good as the location in Manhattan. Yonkers location is convenient for me but I rather drive into the city where the dishes taste much better than here. I just havent found a dish here that they can cook good. Sorry! Other than that the staff are kind and the place is clean.
Worst customer service! Theres one lady in particular who is beyond disgusting with that smart mouth of hers. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Food is real good. You get served quickly. I gave it 4/5 because the inside needs some love. Needs a major makeover. I had the chicken in garlic sauce with yellow rice and red beans. Gotta have rice and beans.
Poor service, food is not fresh.Very expensive for a lunch or a small soup. They charged me 11.00 for a small chicken soup and small rice. The girl at the register was on her phone and carless to please me.
My family had a birthday lunch here and it was very nice. The waitress was so kind and went out of her way to help us .
The people at this place don’t speak english or spanish...Go to the one in the bronx. Worth the drive. Food and service are much better. Rude staff here, food comes crushed in a bag if you’re picking up or having it delivered.
I like the food, I ordered several times but lately the person on the phone is being RUDE, such a bad attitude she has when I ask simple question. As much as it’s convenient and my kids like the food. I WON’T order anymore, I work in costumer service and that would be unacceptable. I wonder if the owner know for real their workers. Def, hand down to this place. Plus she said would be 45minutes to be delivered and took more than an hour!!!!
Horrible customer service, the new management is disgustingly rude. Especially the mangers wife, she’s the rudest one of them all. I will never order from these people ever again, I’ve been faithfully ordering from them since 2008, as they went through so many different chefs but the new management HORRIBLE. BEWARE. On New Years Day my wife decided to take the day off from cooking. We decided to order from Malecon. We called to order out and they said the delivery is over an hour and a half long. So I decided to drive and pick it up myself. As soon as I walked in the restaurant it smelled a little weird like if the food was a little old. I was thinking maybe I was being paranoid. Anyway, I paid and drove home. My family was surprised to see me home quickly. As we sat down to eat the rice smelled burnt and the chicken was old (hard to chew and disgusting).The only good thing was the fried plantains. You figure on a day like New Years Day the food would be good for families to order out. BUT I think they were trying to get rid of the old food.. Beware.
Never again. Ever. They certainly know how to make you feel unwelcome. The place closes at 11, but of you show up at 10, its pretty much closed. They try to get you to just get take out because were almost closed. We wanted a sit down table service meal. They encourage you to order only quick things because were almost closed. They keep reminding you they are closing soon, over and over. A whole hour before close. Then they add on a 15% tip to the bill automatically, for a party of two people. The food was just ok. The atmosphere brutal.
Got my Cafe con leche 😋 and pastel en hojas had no idea they had saw it on there Lunch buffet it was freshly taken out.
Food good. Service not.Restaurant ran out of rotisserie chicken at 5 pm on a Thursday.Man behind the counter stuffed two chickens, rice, beans, salad and a two liter Coke bottle into one plastic bag. When asked to use another bag, he said We dont have any more.Lost another customer Malecon.
Super disappointed , I constantly order from this place . Definitely will not anymore ... placed an order for pick up . They messed up ... I get home unpack and realized it’s completely wrong . Only option I get is come pick up another one. I asked them to drop it off . There response was we are too busy . technically a screw you

Wow I have never seen such bad service. I went to get food and the guy kept getting my order wrong then to my face he said learn how to order. I ignored it . Me and my husband go to pay and the lady takes his card we use our amway debit card, she looks at the card and gives it back then asks for it again & my husband refused because she had already used it. Then she literally yelled at him to give her the card so we said no and she let it go i told her they needed better service & walked out. Their food was decent but seriously need better friendlier staff.
I called to order out and the lady was rushing me off of the phone, telling me how busy she was. I felt disrespected because it seemed like she had time for everything else but to take my order. Then she lied saying that they dont deliver when placing the order over the phone. Which was a lie! My sister does it all of the time. Finally she allowed me to order out once I used my sisters number. I will never order from there again. It was such a turn off. Im someone who is huge on customer service so this was a bad experience. On top of that their food is extremely salty.
Very good food. We had great lunch here, and the place remain very clean even the place was busy and all the tables were full. Little slow service, but still worth us coming back here.

Dominican food is supposed to be good.Not here. Dry, tasteless and the wait longer than I thought. 20 to 30 minutes for food.Never again in this place. If your hungry, go Chinese. Please dont do what I did. Waste money.
Im a regular here, food its good, prices are fair and service is always good. The ladies taking the orders are always friendly. If the food doesnt tastes good one time out of 10, doesnt mean isnt fresh, it could have been taken out of the oven, and it could be as fresh as the early morning. But it may not be cooked well or well seasoned. But is till fresh. Dont take it personal. Even the most experienced chefs make mistakes, why not here. Dont get offended. There is always room to improve and something new to learn.
Excellent Dominican food. I get the chicken with rice and beans to go and love it. Its an old Diner in downtown Yonkers that was converted to the Malecon Restaurant. Theres a parking lot too from the old Diner days. If you like Dominican food, youll love this place.
Great for a quick lunch or dinner order. You can purchase a main meal for a great price and be out the door in 5 minutes! This is Caribbean Latino food and is delicious. The best lunch special is the beef stew with rice and candules-can never go wrong!
Horrible customer service! The woman answering the phone has no people skills, besides sounding illiterate, and instead of giving me the proper attention to take down my order she was flirting with a man that apparently was tickling her. She hung up on before I could tell her I had to pay with my card and was very rude! When I called back to tell her I wasnt done, she replied that she was very busy, clearly with a man tickling her because she wasnt too busy for that! Since apparently they have so much traffic, theyve now lost my business. And to put the cherry on top, the delivery woman didnt ring my bell. She called me and I had to send my boyfriend downstairs to pick up the food! When i told her to ring my bell she said she couldnt because there was no parking...... every other establishment that Ive ordered from has NEVER had that problem! She was so lazy, she didnt even meet him at the door. Very disgusted with the people running this establishment, if you can call it that.
If you are in Yonkers and want some authentic Spanish food this is the place to go. Very affordable prices and decent portions. If ordering take out you get even more food for your buck. The combo deals are only offered for takeout but they literally bring everything. Rice, protein, plantains, salad, 2 liter soda
Ordered white rice, tostones, half a chicken n beans N juice. Food took over an hour and 30 minutes to get to us. Once it arrived one cup of juice was spilled all inside the bag. The rice was room temperature the chicken was semi warm.skin nasty and soggy no flavor, tostones were extra soggy with no flavor. Overall it wasnt worth $27....i wouldnt recommend this place.... dont waste your time guys.
The service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious and plenty. There was also plenty of parking. We left satisfied and with a very large doggy bag because the portions were generous.

It was ok the food was ok too. Service needs to improve but the waitress was very nice. Homeless people come right in. My husband went to the bathroom & there was one with his clothes off trying to bathe 😂🤷♀️. One came in selling stuff that most likely was stolen from Walgreens around the corner lol. Outside a lady came asking for money which we gave her and she tried to sell us a fake fur scarf. I dont live in Yonkers but grew up there & proud of it so Im not surprised but it was a bit too much. We made the best of it and the company was great.
The food is extremely high in sodium - employees here care more about following FB, IG and everything social media instead of focusing on customer experience (better-off going to a Diner). Simply put employees just don’t care!@Malecon - Cell phones should be band during work hours.
The chicken was amazing! the squid salad was tasty however, the squid was hard. the coffee was delicious. our waiter was attentive and friendly.we will probably return

Malecon is good. Food is flavorful, service is courteous and they deliver. You can sit in or take out. Also, read your receipt, tip is already included in your check.

Came here for breakfast with my boyfriend. The place is spacious and clean and service is good. Our waitress was super funny and had a lot of energy for having been there for over 6 hours.
Well, As I write this review my stomach is burning and I had the runs for two days with headaches and fever. I ordered baked chicken, rice and beans with a salad, I feel bad. This place is a hit or miss. I might sue. August 1, 20018.
Food is good, but the service can be better. My server never checked on us once while we were there but thats nothing compared to the constant opening and shutting of their back door that connects to their dining room. Their excuse was that customers dont listen and use that emergency exit to leave the restaurant. Clearly this place can be better managed because with the many years I have as a restaurant manager I would never allow customers to dictate which entrance they will use to come in and out of my restaurant. I hope someone actually reads this and does something about it because its inconvenient and rude. And to the young lady who said the service was poor because their English is poor is ridiculous. This is a Dominican restaurant that caters to Hispanic clients. Point and chose next time instead of making such an ignorant ass comment.
I wish I could give no stars. They told me they would deliver because the chicken wasnt ready yet. Over an hour later they bring the chicken. Its was dry and there was more bones then chicken. When I called the young lady who answered the phone had the worst attitude. Definitely never going back there
Can’t give them zero “0” stars so here we go. Just had my lunch here. Got my food and the order was different. Instead of the salad I ordered the lady changed it to whatever she wanted because she said it wasn’t ready. Time to pay and she didn’t want to give me the changed back and had a pretty bad attitude towards me and my friend. Will NEVER come back to this place again
This food is subpar at best. And the prices are ridiculous!We ordered bistec encebollado (steak and onions), white rice, red beans, Moro de guandules and maduros.The steak literally has no seasoning. I cook well and often (and am Dominican) and this doesn’t even taste like an onion touched it, even though they are topped with cooked onions. It taste like seared meat and nothing more. The white rice is fine, the beans are ok, nothing to rave about. The Moro was decent. The maduros are barely ripe, they’re not even sweet or soft.I’m super disappointed, and outraged that I spent $40 for what’s listed above, nothing more, no soda, salad or anything else.Needless to say I’ll never order from here again and I don’t suggest you do either. I’m surprised they have any business. Caridad and Louie’s down the street is cheaper and tastes better.

Open Christmas day which I was happy and they would have 8 rotisserie chickens cooked for me and I also ordered 5 pasteles. It was a disaster, the chicken werent cooked well and it was chopped up that all 8 fit 1 tray. The pasteles were not fully cooked. They should be shut down

This place is kind of: You want to eat at our restaurant, you are welcome, we are not going to smile just so you will stop here. And you know what, you have to respect that in some level. Their food is OK, and the service is OK.Tip: Do not wait till last minute and arrive when you are starving, the food can get to your table anywhere between 10 minutes to 40 minutes. And when you are very hungry, you can easily be upset with the service.
Bad service, unhappy waitresses, food is not that good cant compare to other Malecon Restaurants. After waiting 20 mins for someone to take our order we asked what was ready and she said get up and check at the front then let me know what you want. I ordered juice it had a bug in it, they forgot to bring one of the meals and still charged for it. will never go there again.
I usually order from the steam table here. Its good Dominican food and great if your hungry and dont want fast food. Try the passion fruit juice. Its my favorite
I ordered a bacalao lunch I got about 95% rice and 3 tiny pieces of fish the rest was sauce, green peppers & onions. Oh and since I got it with maduros they gave me 2 old shrivel pieces. Definitely not going back everything in the buffet line looked a few days old and tested like so....
The food quality here is very inconsistent one day is good and one day its yuck. Also takes very long time to deliver, Ive been waiting for a little over an hour for my order and I live 5-10mins away. Compared to other malecons this one is okay, it can do way better.
The food us very good and the staff is nice. Also the environment is calm and the place is clean. I like to eat here often🤗
Food is great but the service on the phone is badOne of the employees( Maria ) that’s the name she gave me was rude and unprofessional. When I ask for the manager she hung up the phone and refused to give the phone to her manager.

This is the worst food place in Yonkers . They cater to only Dominicans. If you are any other race. Stay away from this place. The customer service here sucks big time. Never order food for delivery. You will never get your food

My order came incomplete I ordered Chicken with tostones, only the chicken came.....the girl that answered the call was very rude from the beginning, I asked her what did they have for lunch, she was rushing me, and ended up sending only part of the order.
Nasty food and nasty attitudes. Wouldnt waste my money on it. If you want to eat something, try a different restaurant. I asked for the manager and she threatened me to go over to the establishment to talk face to face. Not the best place to eat. Theyll never seen my money again.
I like their the food, even though is a bit pricey. But I am a bit concerned lately because I notice that some workers that handle and serve food dont wear face masks, and dont really practice social distancing. I think this should be required. The manager should really look into this.
The worst customer service you could possibly imagine. If you call for delivery, prepare for waits of longer than an hour no matter the time or day. Never had an order come correctly. Dont bother calling because youll receive the rudest, most aggressive, unhelpful comments from their staff.

Typical Spanish (Dominican) restaurant. They have both a buffet line (usually for to-go orders) and a full sit-down, full menu area. The food is good, I usually go for fried things (yuca, tostones, chicharron de pollo, steak) or mofongo.

Worst service ever! On top of that the waitresses talk about you with other waitresses as if you weren’t right there. On top of that the cashier eavesdrops on your conversations and feels like she has the right to comment on your conversation.

Classic delicious Dominican food. I recommend ordering the chicharon de pollo sin hueso with rice and beans. Its so crunchy tender and juicy. I also would recommend the monfongo. It tastes fresh!

Food always looks old however tastes good. Priced moderately but the Malecon in the Bronx food tastes much better.
I love this place food is always fresh. The only down side to this place is that delivery for lunch if you pick up is about $7-$ vr delivery would be about $16. But overall food is great.

Best place for mofongo, hands down. The pollo, queso y cerdo is the best mofongo I ever had in my life. The food there is great as well, but definitely try the mofongo!

I understand the place isnt big on breakfast so maybe they shouldnt open so early; only way to get good service is if youre a Friend or family. One thing they are consistent on is Bad customer service.
Ordered Chicken Chunks they were very good rice was dry service was slow and appetizers and main courses brought out at same time also did not like the fact tip was included in bill because our waitress was not worth what they put in there and they all claim they dont speak English

Called in to place a 90.00 order and the lady on the phone was rude acted like it was a problem to even take the order but we continued placing the order and then she proceeded to tell us how she was sorry that she was rude but continued being rude her explanation was they were busy and had 5 lines waiting to take orders once placed we called right back to cancel the order and they refused to cancel the order so it has been disputed with the card company then the same lady calls us verbally assaulting us about the situation be careful when going here

2022-04-23This restaurant has been here for several years now. Ladies serving you meals are usually very sweet. Food is good, not great, depending on freshness. My advice to you would be to go when they make lunch fresh. Food can sit for hours, and meat will get tough and dry after sitting under a heat lamp. I prefer to sit down and order directly from the kitchen. Overall, I would eat here early in the afternoon.

You pay almost $30 for a combo from this place and they send you the worst, if the chicken isn’t burnt the plantains are mushy. I would rather they call and say they don’t have the item then to send me garbage.

2020-06-05Took some time to place my order because the girl at the cash register was completely engaed text messaging someone I guess that was more important than a customer. When I place my order I was told to wait 10 minutes which was fine I grabbed a paper menu and saw that my exact order had a combo special that she did not mention with more food and a larger bottle of soda for less money. When I asked her can I change it to the combo? She rudely told me no!!! too late!!! your food is almost done all she would have had to do is cancel the sale and re ring it as a combo and change the soda but she did not want to be bothered and I was interrupting her text messaging once again!! I gave this place 2 stars because the food is actually good But they definitely need to hire a new cashier.

2019-01-21Solid Dominican food. I’m a regular here. Good mofongo. And I often come for 3 golpe breakfast in the morning. Mangu is too oily for me, yucca is perfect for my taste. Friendly staff. Pretty fast service usually. They accept cards. 10 dollar minimum. Good coffee.

2021-11-13Never made it inside, the stairs outside are so hard to get up. I fell and got hurt. They better do something about the stairs before someone kills themselves. I will never go back. I was wondering why there are pictures of the side of the restaurant and the parking lot but no pictures of the front where the stairs are. Isnt it strange? By the way their food sucks.

2021-10-01Imagine ordering from here....youre STARVING, so basically ANYTHING will surely be good, right?? WRONG!!! WRONG!! Cold, hard grains of rice, which told me it was from yesterday or a few services ago...pork shoulder was shredded, soggy with grease and nasty...the skin is supposed to be crunchy, but it was like rubber...and the beans you ask?? Well that lovely portion had maggots in them. YES!! MAGGOTS!!! Just what I needed to make the cycle complete. When I called to explain this I was met with a bunch of never could happen even tho I had photographic proof. Anyway...horrible place. Even worse customer service. Id advise ANYONE and EVERYONE to steer clear of this place. AT ALL COSTS!!
