I enjoyed this restaurant, having gone in the fall for outdoor dining. The food was tasty and the ambiance was nice! Giving it 4 stars because the food was on the pricier side for the portions we received. The service was good and we didn’t feel rushed even though it was a nice night with a lot of people waiting for tables.
Visited Malibu Farm for the first time. The food was delicious and portions were very generous considering the prices. Dont understand how steak tacos can be $40? I go to authentic mexican restaurants where they are cheaper. We waited about an hour after ordering to receive our food (as did the 2 girls sitting next to us). Also it was incredibly cold in there. Not sure why the air conditioner needs to be on high when its 60 degrees out and its end of October. We were wearing our coats to keep warm and my friend even ordered a hot coffee to warm up.Overall nice experience but a little expensive.
Cocktails were great! the setting is also really beautiful at seaport on the water. we got the impossible burger, babaganosh, and the watermelon salad. the burger was probably my least favorite, but i thought the ingredients/produce was all really fresh and delicious.
My shashouka was delicious. The veggie pizza was terrible and was nothing remotely resembling a pizza. The unexpected drag show was highly unpleasant and we had to hurry ourselves out of this establishment. It was inappropriate to host drag show in front of children.I will not be coming back to this place.
I found the perfect spot for my work through lunch and get a view. My favorite bridge and now my favorite restaurant in Lower Manhattan.I got the vegan chopped salad with salmon on the side. The salad was fresh and the ingredients paired well together. The salmon was cooked at the perfect temperature.Dessert would have been the tres leches chocolate cake, but my waiter recommended the olive oil pound cake. Hot damn, that was so good! Lemon pound cake served with lemon sorbet and blueberry compote and some sweet crumble.I finished every bite of my meal, one because I was hungry, two because it was just that good!
Beautiful place. The Tacos were just amazing. We were not a big fans of the drinks but the food was super tasty.Sitting at the water side and enjoying some good food and music was amazing. Will definitely go back there. The staff was super nice and friendly. The restrooms were clean and well maintained.
Great spot to sit back and relax with a nourishing smoothie & a view. Malibu Farm has been on my list for years since I discovered their first brunch in Malibu Pier. Organic locally sourced ingredients are thicking all the boxes for me. I went to grab an acai bowl. However, it seems like everyone else had the same idea because when I got there, the waitress told me they are out of acai. So I went with a berry smoothie and some granola. It was tasty and filling, so actually, I won’t mind I don’t get the smoothie bowl.
The restaurant starts with a great advantage of being located in Pier 17, with its colorful and sleek design and fantastic night views of the Brooklyn bridge, the East River and Brooklyn. We chose to eat outside as the weather was just about perfect. The menu provided choices that were both unusual and tasty - I liked the scallops in particular. Decent service and the prices seemed appropriate for a restaurant of this level (on the higher side but not outrageously so).
First let me start with the positive. The backdrop and the environment was very nice and pleasant. Its has a view of the pier and its right next to it. The drinks were very underwhelming and might as well been drinking a bottle of hint fruit infused water. The food, while having a very respectable presentation, fell flat and seem almost flavorless at times. Some of the sides like the potatoes were good but entrees such as the skirt steak or apples sausage seemed as if someone just took meat out of a package put it on the grill maybe put some crushed ice and salt on it as seasoning and then sent it out. If you just want nice photo ops its a great place to go. If youre actually hungry or want a drink to do its job I would probably go elsewhere. 🤷🏿♂️
The service was commendable as they made sure we were enjoying our meals and having a good time. We did not have just 1 but 3 different servers ask us if everything was going well. They made sure we were super comfortable and also made a space heater available for us since we wanted to sit outside. They have an extensive drinks menu and everything on the menu sounded interesting. We ordered #moscowmule in ginger flavor and #espressomartini and they tasted refreshing and the sugar was on point. The food was plated beautifully and tasted fantastic with attention to small details. We got #frenchtoast that was made with brioche and coconut and strawberry flavor and I have to say that I have never tasted anything like this before and it was absolutely one of the finest French toast I had in my life. We got their #labneh for appetizer and it was a little spicy which suited perfect to our palettes and the jalapeños added the extra zing to it. It was served with fresh veggies that were perfectly seasoned and it paired so well with the labneh. For the entree we got #impossibleburger and #burrata and both dishes had the perfect balance of flavors and tasted perfect. The salad served with burrata had fresh strawberries and pickled rhubarbs that added the right balance to it. For dessert we got #treslechescake as suggested by the server and we thought it was the best tres leches we had so far.I highly recommend trying this restaurant for a beautiful view, amazing service and fantastic food @malibufarmnewyorkDefinitely a good spot for a date or a special occasion. My personal rating (scale 1-5 with 5 being the best)Ambience: 5Taste: 5Service: 5Overall rating: 5Cost: $$$$Follow me at @vspiceroute for more Veg good reviews
I had a reservation for 3pm.About 30 minutes before, I was notified for the first time that the kitchen would be closing at 3:30pm for a private event, which is absurd. I should have been notified earlier so that I could cancel the reservation.I then called them and they proceeded to tell me that the kitchen actually closes at 3:15 not 3:30 like the text message said. So then I asked if I could put the entire food order in once I got there, which they said no and that the whole party had to be there. So you give me 30 min notice that the kitchen is closing within 15 min of my reservation and I can’t even place an order? They finally ended up seating us close to 3:10 with half of our party and didn’t even bring out menus for us to order until I had to ask. When I made the reservation, they stated that our time limit was two hours. However, at 4:30 someone shows up and tells us we have about 15 min left, which again makes no sense. On top of all of this, they incorrectly charged us full price on items on the bill that were ordered during happy hour and then had the audacity to automatically add a 20% tip to the bill when they brought the correct version back out.Needless to say this was a terrible experience all around and i wouldn’t recommend anyone dine here. Really bad customer service.
We thought the food here was terrible terrible terrible. The avocado toast was not even toasted. The spread on it was really sweet and none of the flavors went together. We waited an hour for nachos and when they arrived they were soggy from having been left out. All the food arrived cold. The meat in the nachos wasn’t seasoned. The shishito peppers were burned. I’m really not nitpicking. Every single dish was terrible. To get an idea - I went to dinner at 730pm and the last thing I had eaten prior to this dinner was dinner the night before. I mean I went into this meal hungry but even so I left hungry because I only had a couple bites of any plate. 0/10, truly 0/10. On the way home I picked up an already prepared orange chicken from a grocery store and then heated that in the microwave for dinner, and enjoyed it better
Id u like the ambiance of being in NYC with a view of the East River, all the bridges in lower Manhattan and the lights, then you will love this place. But because this is a hot tourist area, the drinks at this place is quite a expensive. If u have money to burn and want to impress a date or friends then this place is for you.
Cute place right on the water. They have outdoor and indoor dining and take reservations.Overall the food was good, a bit salty on some dishes. Farm to table type, and good amount of choices for meat or veggie lovers.Drinks were quite delicious. Baba ganoush was really creamy and delicious. There was a Cauliflower mash that came with the steak that was really good. They also have a happy hour, didnt do that, but saw on their menu.
Uh...not great. Service was rushed. Food slapped down on table on side. We had to move our plates to our positions. Charged $4.00+ extra for 2 small half slices of pita bread :( Last time I was offered a basket of bread with butter no charge for the table. I was told there would be an extra charge, but felt dimed with the ridiculous sparse bread offering for our table of 4. Frankly, salmon lacked seasoning, mussels didnt seem fresh, tacos were mushy. Overall poor experience. 2 stars for the view of the Brooklyn Bridge. Waiting staff needs to be better trained, friendlier, and at least pretend that they are happy to be there.
The appetizer we ordered was the Baba ghanoush. Dinner was red snapper with coconut rice and lobster with potatoes. The portions were very generous. The seafood was delicious, filling, clean & fresh. The coconut rice was slightly dry for my taste. The potatoes were crisp and well seasoned. We also ordered a bottle of rosé but I forgot to take a photo of that. The reason why it lost a start because it took awhile to receive our food. It was on a Saturday night but the people next to us ordered their meals after us and got it first. Our waiter did at the end of the night apologize for the long wait. The location is really great of beautiful views of the Brooklyn bridge.
I really wanted to love this place. I walk by it in the morning all the time and was really excited to come. I took my brother and sister to lunch here Friday afternoon and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. Our server, (boy with clips in his hair) was kind, but nowhere to be found the entire time apart from taking our order.I watched him go to every other table as I sat there for 15 minutes trying to get a napkin and again when trying to pay the bill. I’m not over exaggerating when I say we were waiting over 25 minutes to pay. Absolutely zero sense of urgency, and no real understanding of customer service. I feel as if he ignored our table because we were one of the “younger” patrons. The food was OK. The “grilled” artichokes had absolutely no charring or crisp to them at all, they tasted boiled or microwaved. My brother and sister enjoyed their burgers. I got the steak and burrata salad which essentially is just steak, burrata and lettuce. The steak was extremely over cooked, came well done. The view is pretty and the layout of the restaurant is nice. Perhaps we ordered the wrong things, and got the wrong sever. All of the bussers and food runners were very nice.
Beautiful place, good service and fabulous staff! I loved!!The dinner was absolutely amazing, and place is super nice, charm and cozy!In the Pier 17, have a great view from Brooklyn Bridge.Really good seafood (the fish was delicious), wine and incredible dessert!:)Super recommended!
This was the most amazing place. Atmosphere was fantastic. Right off the water you can see the Brooklyn bridge.COVID-19 friendly spaced out, temp checks, all silverware is wrapped up.Food was delicious, servers were brilliant, and the best kept secret in NYC. Highly recommended will come back here!!!
Came here for brunch with family the wait wasn’t that bad. There were quite few vegetarian options available. My favorite was vegan coconut tofu, Malibu Nachos and ice tea. Around the restaurant there is a lot to do for Halloween they have pumpkin arch and on the 4th they have the green which is like a mini lawn to sit and chill.
Absolutely loved brunch here!!! They have a little ~outside~ area thats closed off and outfitted with heaters with an amazing view of the Brooklyn bridge outside and it’s dog friendly! We opted to get the “make your own mimosas” and got a bottle of champagne with three juices which can be filled again if you’re not as heavy with the Prosecco. Service was absolutely fantastic, I feel like I could be friends with our server lol. The food was beautifully plated and tasted absolutely fantastic with attention to small details. Everything was fairly priced in my opinion considering the location, food, and service. Will definitely be back!
Came to Malibu Farm with a family of 5 for a 2pm brunch on a Saturday, food is fine but service is SLOWWW. Drinks and apps came out after a long wait, asked for plates and never got them. What wasn’t acceptable is 3 entrees came out and other 2 came out after the other diners were almost done. Waiter never apologized or checked in with us, he was MIA most of the time. Manager did apologize and offered dessert or drink on the house but not willing to wait another half hour for it to show up. Thanks but no thanks.
Was excited to visit this Malibu Farm location. The aesthetics are beautiful and you can tell the restaurant was designed with care. The drinks were all absolutely amazing and the food blew us away. The spaghetti squash lasagna was unreal. Our waiter and the restaurant staff were extremely nice and attentive. Nothing but good things to say about this restaurant and experience!
Drinks were not that good. Food was okay. Even though it wasnt that crowded, it took a very long time to get both drinks and food. Mixed up our order and when we ordered dessert the told us, maybe 5 minutes later, that they only had 2 left (we ordered 4, so two of us had to change). Nice venue though.
I liked it. A bit pricey but the food was good. I didnt like having to put together my own tacos. The view outside is really nice at night. They had the Halloween photo op right outside and Ill be back for whatever they do for the holidays. Just have to get there at the right time.
My favorite thing about malibu farm besides the food was the ambience. Its a semi outdoor restaurant with fancy, posh vibes in pier 17. The tables are huge so its great for a big group, something thats hard for most restaurants to accommodate for due to covid. We let the hostess know that we were in a bit of a rush bc we were trying to catch a movie, and she gladly let the waiters know. The food was impeccable- I got the vegan coconut tofu because Ive never gotten something like that before. As someone who has a strong affinity for spices, this was incredibly satisfying and pretty healthy. 10/10
Found!Malibu Farm means healthy, fresh Southern California food served well. Located in the new and improved South Street Seaport Pier 17 it makes you fell right at home, with water views like the other locations in Malibu and Miami. Perfect spot for brunch in a nice weekend day.For more great reviews visit TheLoupe!
The place is beautiful this is my second time here since 2020 im very disappointed with the restaurant menu its totally different from last year def my last visit such a nice place but the stuff is def not friendly the manager is very rude I guess the fact that hes super young lack of experience.
Malibu Farm is a fun, cozy, spot by the seaside in New York. The cauliflour crust pizza was great. And the fried egg sandwich was also really good. The swedish mini pancakes can potentially be a disappointment for those looking for thick, fluffy, pancakes. These are more like crepes than pancakes...so you know.
I am not a big fan of farm to Table restaurants. This east coast outpost of a Californiachain. Located in the South Seaport is a little hard to find. For starters we had the CAULIFLOWER CRUST ‘PIZZA ,’mozzarella, heirloom tomato, pesto, arugula, and shaved cauliflower, definitely different. Also the RAW BRUSSEL SPROUTS with a mustard lemon dressing and toasted almond, very good. For mains, I ordered the GRILLED RIBEYE , a 14 OZ with roasted onion, asparagus, and garlic mash potato. I opted for the GARLIC CHIMICHURRI NEW POTATO instead of the mashed potato. The dish was superb and the steak was perfectly cooked. My wife had the SKIRT STEAK fig balsamic marinade, cherry tomatoes, red onions, and garlic mashed potato. She really enjoyed it.
Ate lunch at Malibu Farm in October and had the genuine pleasure of being served by Amanda. The food and drinks were great, served with a beautiful view from underneath the Brooklyn Bridge.Amanda took good care of us and made our already pleasant experience much better. We felt absolutely at home and definitely recommend this place.Make sure to drop by if you have the chance, and ask for Amanda.
My expectations were high due to there being a California location that gets good reviews, but unfortunately they were not met at the NYC location. The skirt steak sandwich was good, however the sandwich fell apart because the ingredients made the thin wheat bread soggy and definitely wasnt toasted as the menu states. I suggest a bread that is more heartly and will not fall apart that easy. The potatoes were great, service was pretty good, but didnt know why the server didnt bring out more water when ours were finished.
Great fresh food. Nachos are special and delicious. Vegan options available too. Fantastic service and outdoor seating with a view. Its kind of inside/outdoor so if youre looking for a place to eat out in COVID this place is the tops simply because it is away from the streets and public sidewalks
Terrible! Over priced and mediocre food and service. I Walking in a overheard a lady complain she was waiting over an hour on her cauliflower pizza. When I got to my table I noticed the pizza was in the appetizer section so it defiantly made me think we’d be waiting awhile on food (should have left then). I waited an hour for some cold hummus. All that was needed was to toast a pita... restaurant wasn’t busy. Then all my food came out on top of my appetizer. Which is not ideal. Food was bland. We sat in darkness. The waiter never thought to light a candle. Said he’d return with water at one point and didn’t. I seen an apple crisp dessert go by several times so I figured that might be the highlight. Turned out they were no longer serving it as they’d run out apparently (6.00 pm). Looks so impressive to walk by but keep walking by and go somewhere worth your money
The atmosphere and the location is amazing. Eating dinner by the water is a really cool experience.Food was pretty good but overpriced - especially for the portion sizes. This is a good date spot when you want to splurge but if your looking for a great meal for a great value go to another spot.Service was pretty good except for the end of the meal. You can tell they try to move you along bc those waterfront tables are coveted.
Very very Disappointing experience ! even though the waiter was nice but…first , they brought out the wrong ordersecond, once they brought out taco seafood - it was tastiness .36$ for lobster roll - side dish - bag of chips (!!! ) . Seriously ? for such a price - should have been at least freshly made french fries.Tables too close to each other in terms of social distancing .View is nice- but that is it about this place .Do not recommend and will not be back .
Really good food and ambiance. I ordered the double cheeseburger and it was one of the best I have ever had. No exaggeration. Wife ordered the fish tacos and she said the same, except she thought the guac was too liquid and could use some more ‘character’. The drinks were a bit expensive but tasty. Overall a great place to chill. Taking one star away due to the uncomfortable chairs. They are way too low and we saw a few women struggling to sit comfortably.
Went for Thanksgiving. Waiter, even though sweet, forgot parts of our order several times, like the potatoes, yams, and drinks, and then took a while to bring them. It’s not like the restaurant was full for the delay. The turkey, although well flavored, reminded me of that given at a public school for lunch. Nothing like the picture presentation. They also did not have their famous roasted pumpkin sundae, (which is why I mainly went), on this special day. We had ice cream, instead, with our pies, and those were very good, specifically the pumpkin, malted, and cinnamon ones. The food is overpriced, but the portions are alright. The restaurant itself is unique, yet the beach type chairs are short and uncomfortable for eating. Hopefully there’s improvement for the future since I do want to return simply for the pumpkin dessert.
Delicious dishes, very uncomfortable seats for dining unless you like picnic bench or high back bench seating. Tip for wait staff: if youre serving (very tasty) hummus for four to four diners, bring 4 pieces of bread and/ or if they request a 4th piece dont just charge them for a basket
The potential seems to be here for greatness. Unfortunately tonight was not the night. I can only speak for one dish the Ciopinno so far. In brief the soup was hot the seafood cold till it got mixed into dish and then too spicy to taste any seafood notes just texture. I do like spicy and I can say the dish was a full meal. But all in all it’s a missed interpretation on a dish that can be moving weather it’s Ciopinno or Bouillabaisse as mentioned in the description. It does not mention spicy so I am sure they get a few sent back.
Not really worth the money. Food was meh. I had the grilled chicken, steak, roastedpotatoes (all had to be purchased separately btw).. nothing was worth the price. $27 dollars for 1 little crab cake. It was a good crab cake but there shouldve been at least 2 on the plate for that price.
This place was great!! The food was super good and I love how fresh everything was!!The restaurant is right on the water and me and my friends went in the evening and the view was beautiful at night. The only thing is that the desert portions are super small! Everything else was amazing totally recommend!!
Malibu Farms food transports you back to summer days in California, and who wouldnt want that? Paired with fresh farm to table food is the spectacular view of the Brooklyn Bridge and pier.I ordered the Spaghetti Squash Lasagna and my god! I scrapped the inside of that squash until there was nothing left. This entree is vegetarian and would be crowd pleaser for all the carnivores out there. I would also suggest the Pot de Creme for dessert. 2 words: chocolate heaven. All in all, this restaurants staff is incredible and works hard to provide a professional and friendly atmosphere. New York needed a modern twist on California cuisine and Malibu Farm satisfies!
Bartenders were very nice and chatty. Would let them breed me. The food on the other hand, left me wanting more. I ordered the crab cake sandwich, and it was 90% bun. Also, it came with a literal bag of potato chips from a bodega. I think they were trying to be kitschy, but when I’m paying $40, it was wildly disappointing. Would still hook up with bartenders.
This place is just ok ... service was good...hummus was a little too salty for me but I ate it for the price. I had the cauliflower pizza was definitely a bad choice. My drink had a bit of premixed ingredients Taste I did not finish it ... But again the service was great. Definitely will not go back but I am a foodie and very picky. But give it a try.
Delicious! Such great and unique flavors! Just had the new Grassfed beef burger! Talk about melt in your mouth! The turkey burger is just as fabulous! You can tell everything is cut fresh daily. They source from smaller farms and farms that are agriculturally responsible.I will definately be back!
Food expensive and tasteless. Service really slow. They took our drinks order and had to wait more then 10 minutes to get and when they finally were served one of the drink was not what we ordered. The guest had ordered Captain Morgan but they served him a different rum. The waiter disappeared and we had to place our food orders with the manager. They were not busy but we had to wait long fir our dinner and when we got it the food was absolutely tasteless: my spaghetti squash lasagna had no taste: just a baked squash still with skin on, a little of some tasteless cheese and a lot of mixed greens on the too without any type of dressing. Same goes with the salad for other guests. Please save your money, this is really overpriced restaurant with no taste food and with really bad customer service. My worse experience in New York restaurants.
I just came here to thank Bryce and the rest of the waiting staff at this establishment. Super kinda. The BEST COCKTAILS I’VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! Everyone that works there is so nice and accommodating. Guys, please make their lives easier and make a reservation. I am a vegetarian so I was so happy that my BFF took me there. I’ll be coming back. The view is gorgeous.
I had an incredible experience at Malibu Farm NYC! There was plenty of outdoor space, the tables were cleaned, and the silverware was safely packaged. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our waitress was one of the best and most cheerful waiters I’ve ever had. She was really heightened the experience overall. It was pretty chilly though! The food was great. We ordered crab cakes, which were top notch and had plenty of crab, and then I ordered the double cheeseburger. I was stuffed and very happy. This is a great spot to bring any friends or family from out of town as well.
Great location, good adult beverages and very helpful crew working the tables. Unfortunately, the food doesnt match the location.- Good guac, generic tortilla chips & not enough- Brioche should not be used for every sandwich- Undressed salads (2 out of 4)- under-seasoned burger and homestyle potatoesThe one saving grace was the egg sandwich, that was super tasty.Likely wont be heading back, but it was great to be outside.
The aesthetics make you believe you are going to have some fresh, tasty food. But the food is flavorless. The BLT kale salad came with large pieces of kale and romaine that were unevenly dressed, 3 cherry tomatoes, one slice of bacon chopped up and pre- shredded Parmesan from a bag. Olive Garden serves more attentive salads. The ambiance is nice, and the service was good.
Space was nice and airy/open. Easy to get a reservation for midweek lunch when other options in the area were mostly closed until dinner. Service was attentive but a little too much. I think we were asked if the food was good 2 times+ for each course. Food was fine but not memorable. Nacho appetizer recommended by online reviews tasted like the chips were a bit stale and while the cheese sauce was good the flavor was not very dynamic. Burrata was standard. Salmon I had for main was oversalted, although the bed of quinoa rice and sauce underneath was very tasty and best part of the meal. Would come again for a corporate lunch with a group seeking simple food or vegetarian options. Will otherwise avoid.
Very unfortunate experience at Malibu Farm. Messed up my meal 3 times… yes thats not a typo. Brought the wrong dish to me 3 times. The servers are very poorly trained. The table next to us never got their lunch and the manager brought them 2 dishes that they never ordered as well. They left without lunch and a $100 gift card and we left with a comped meal. Overheard other waiters talking that they didnt want to be there working and that theyre surprised the kitchen staff hasnt walked off yet….
Just come here for the bar, for the drinks not to sit in the on tables for foo; the waiters will mess up!!!Horrible service. We had to request two separate waiters for tap water twice until they finally brought it out. Ordered entries, waited 1.5 hours until waiter realized it was not put into his computer. Appetizers were put into computer twice by the waiter even though we didn’t order twice. We ordered only 4 drinks, they doubled that order 😂 How is this even possible?
Loved it! The burrata and the tofu curry were the highlights. The server was super knowledgable and did a great job pacing the courses. Nice to be outside with great views of the water and the Brooklyn Bridge as well. I live in the neighborhood and I’m sad it took me this long to try it out. I’ll definitely be back!
*** HITS BLUNT ***I understand people need time to frolic and mingle or what not… When a 40 minute wack burger is what I’m getting , it turns the experience into a situation where I’m stuck because I don’t want to continue waiting and also want to leave, but I can’t because i still have to pay. Waited about the same amount of time for an espresso. Friendly staff though, especially the busboys. Will not be back
Ugh I loved the food, great vibe, and the watermelon cocktail was amazing. Just sad how their waist staff isnt friendly. The hostess acted as if she was inconvenienced to seat us at our table. Overall, the staff doesnt seem customer oriented and the food and drinks take a while to come out. Everything else was great though.
It was my first dining experience at Malibu Farm, and I was very pleased. Everything exceeded my expectations: ambience, service, dining/drink options, and most importantly taste and quality of the food!Design of space is super cute, the service was attentive and available, drinks were creative and delicious, and the food was really tasty and fresh. If you enjoy that healthy, farm to table, veggie, California // new American type of vibe, I think you’ll love it!
DONT get the fish tacos. In an effort to be fancy they made some bad decisions. They choose the wrong tortilla. It is a corn tortilla as it states in the menu but its so hearty and thick that it takes over the whole taco. Also, the plate comes deconstructed, not as advertised on the menu. The fish comes with the skin so if you dont like eating fish skin youre at your table deskinning a price of fish. Im not trained for that. If only there were a chef nearby that would do it for me. Also, needs salt, which is a bad sign.
Went for brunch. we all loved what we got to eat and drink. I added avo to the egg sandwich - delicious. The place is very well decorated, they did not cut corners with the beautiful furniture. Our waitress was fun and smiled. I hate that this place has some bad reviews - I normally for write reviews but had such a nice experience I wanted to share.
The restaurant has a nice environment and the food is amazing, taste like home made. The service is simple, straight to the point it is not far-fetched.The price is really fair.I recommend the place! I am going back. The GM is so nice and friendly, she went to our table to ask feedback about our drinks. We love it.
Came in here on a slow afternoon. I figured since I had a bite at the Malibu Farm in Miami, I’ll check this one out as well. Enjoyed seasonal items that I had been suggested. Super tasty and filling food. Overall an okay experience......Snobby woman with the black blazer, assuming the manager had tried putting me on a long wait. Meanwhile the restaurant was HALF empty. I would’ve been more understanding if the woman wasn’t rude. Totally set my mood off and a few family members. Super inconvenient on a cold day.If you plan on coming here, make a reservation. Or you’ll waste unnecessary amounts of time dealing with staff members that need better etiquette in hospitality.
Lack luster staff and service for the price.Non energetic greeting followed by a 10 minute wait to order drinks/food after the server brought water. We had to send our steak back as it was still mooing when ordered medium rare (after having to prompt the server for a specific temperature). One came back a temperature up, the other came back the same and luke warm as if it sat under the heat lamp for a few minutes.I managed fine dining for years in NYC. Anytime food was send back it should be expected a manager at the very least asks how the meal is.Came here on a recommendation based off the California locations. Unfortunately not a pleasant experience.
Don’t order the baba ganoush. It’s comes with one single pita that is about 5” in diameter and not nearly enough for the portion of baba ganoush. You will be charged extra if you ask for more pita so that you can actually finish the dish. It’s like getting a bowl of guacamole and being given six chips. Ridiculous.
I’m willing to give this place another chance but I’m not sure about it yet. The hostess seemed annoyed to see us but was so quiet I couldn’t hear a word she was saying. The couple after us she said was an hour wait but she definitely didn’t say that to us. We hung around for a bit and then grabbed spots at the bar. All burgers were 86 and so were a couple of other choices on the menu. The food took a LONG time to come and then the fish tacos were a kind of make your own taco thing... I don’t know it was just not great all around.
Caught the tail end of brunch with Ashley as our server. She was attentive but not over bearing. Had menu suggestions and was knowledgable about food content and allergies, including ingredients used in cocktail. Ask about meal size if you aren’t sure some dishes have large shareable portions, while others are on the single serving size.
Mimosa & bloody arent the only breakfast cocktails to pair with your breakfast/brunch. Try fresh kale juice + Bombay sapphire gin. Tequila is a great option (menu suggestion) but I love gin!Malibu Farm at Pier 17A brand new eatery at the Seaport District serving healthy options. This is week 2 of opening (so I heard) and it seems to be popular, already.BEWARE: you need a reservation!Walk in seats are available at the bar.Farm to table concept in NYC with the intent of being as local as possible in this concrete jungle. Imagine that! This restaurant is perfectly positioned for great views of the Brooklyn Bridge. If youre a local, you know the endless construction at the Seaport District has been ongoing for some time. Its great to start enjoying whats been under development...finally!The food is fresh, tasty and innovative. I had the smoked salmon hash slightly altered (scrambled eggs vs fried eggs - my sister had). It was delicious! GUILT FREE eating!!!FEEDBACK: I wouldve loved to see more smoked salmon in the dish, there were only 2 pieces of salmon. Not exaggerating! Salmon is the only reason to price an egg dish above $10 so please reconsider the salmon portion. To be honest, I was still still hungry! So I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich; it came with roasted baby potatoes and a side salad thats tossed in olive oil and lemon juice. Again, fresh & tasty! My sister & I destroyed that sandwich shamelessly. Chicken breast was flavorful and tender. It was perfect! In addition to trying more food, I also tried the blueberry cocktail; mashed blue blueberries + infused bourbon. Just right!Overall, my sister & I enjoyed the superb service from Henry, the bartender, and deliciously fresh food at Malibu Farm. This is a beautiful space for small and large groups with a stunning view, so definitely go try it. Either reserve first or plan to wait for seats at the bar.
Reservations are strongly recommended. I made a party for 2 dinner a reservation a week prior and when I got there they offered me a lounge seat with no table? Hostess had the WORSE customer service! I call them 3 times (on hold for more what 30 mins) to let them know I was running 10 mins late due the rain and traffic and I get there and they tell me the phones dont work...DROVE ALL THE WAY FROM JERSEY...Ive heard they have good food but bad customer service and I proved it right yesterday.Waste of time...
Will NOT be back!Arrived 15 mins early for a 9:15 reservation & was left sitting at my table for 25+ mins & eventually had to ask for service. Keep in mind, for a Sat night, I’d estimate the restaurant was at abt 30% capacity. After finally dropping off the drink menu, the server took another 15 mins. Finally, after starters & the main, I was ready to look at a dessert menu, but here comes the server who says, “I’d offer you dessert, but the kitchen is closing.” Well, maybe if I wasn’t left sitting in total for approximately 40 mins, I’d be able to order some dessert! If there is a positive... the food wasn’t ½ bad, but definitely not worth it for that level of poor service. After the meal and wrapping up, upon exit, the host was too busy on her phone (w/ other staff) to even notice that I’d walked out.I’m a local & work in the area. This was by FAR the worst dining experience (service-wise) around. If you’re looking for a spot in lower Manhattan... look elsewhere. Plenty of options.
Enjoyed a relaxing night....had some nachos and the famous Almond Expresso Martini....not to mention the delicious 😋 labneh ricotta cheesecake with glazed gooseberries. All done by Chef Amy....didnt get to see her tonight...but sending maaaad luv ❤ for always making our favorites......cant leave out my boo Keith....luv me some YOU!! See you soon❣ Sammy n Naj
I had hoped that Malibu Farm NYC would match its Cabo rivals Flora Farms and Acre, but alas I (and my brunch party of 5) was disappointed. The staff was far from friendly, service was mediocre at best, and the food was good but not outstanding. The restaurant is still fairly new, so hopefully it will improve over time, but it will take a lot of convincing to get me to make the trip from the Upper East Side to the Seaport again.
Walking in Malibu Farm has the warmest, most inviting decor and design that whispers to you come inside and be delighted. Loved the RH inspired decor and soft lighting as well as the fantastic bar space. Ordered the cauliflower pizza, greek salad, fish tacos which were all good and spaghetti squash lasagna which was next-level decadent amazing! Oozing with a warm spinach/ cheese interior covered by a crispy cheese layer we couldnt get enough. Loved the food, atmosphere, and design- was only half full but perhaps thats because it was a Wednesday night.
I don’t know Helene Henderson, but I do know that she should be embarrassed to have her name associated with this restaurant. I really wanted it to be good, but the service is abysmal (my wine glass has been empty for over an hour and nobody has asked if I wanted a refill), our waitress completely disappeared, and the appetizers tasted like they were microwaved. I would come here if the rest of the city was closed and this was my only option for survival. Proceed at your own risk.
The servers were all very nice, but it was incredibly slow. Also ordered the omlette with Greek salad and it was super average. Someone else in my party got the kale and ricotta scramble which was good. Nice ambiance, just need to improve the speed of their service and enhance some of the bland dishes ie omlette.
First in line for 11AM opening. Staff came out and apologized for needing to open 15 minutes late. Sure we didn’t have a reservation but the place is pretty spacious and I’ve walked by it a few times and it has been relatively empty. Host told us to walk around the Pier and come back. I asked why - did he want to seat reservations first? He said yes and they would let walk ins trickle in. Hard to accept when you have a giant restaurant and 10 parties in line... used the extra time afforded by poor customer management to read the yelp reviews. Decided not worth my time. Too many other options .... If you don’t have availability that’s fine, but not the case here - just disorganized.
So let me get this straight, you dont take walk-ins and will not give a wait time despite the restaurant being less than half full. Meanwhile The Fulton, a better reviewed restaurant from Jean Georges was happy to accommodate us. Cool. I would highly recommend you skip this place and have a wonderful meal at The Fulton next door.
Food was ok. i live around the area. visited a few times. food had gotten better since the last time my bread was burnt.employees seem miserable. i overheard how they get spoken to. my boyfriend and i sat towards the back. this place seems like its really trying to be high end and fancy, when right next door is the Fulton for all that.
Weirdly bad service, super unwelcoming and they didn’t let us have a table even though they were only half full.So we sat at the bar, but this was no better as the bar stools were insanely uncomfortable (they squeeze your butt together due to the weird hanging leather seat!?!?!), and their cocktails are poorly made (they took 2 mins to make) and taste extremely average sadly.Try Bar Wayu next door instead!

2022-05-23DE-LISH! A beautiful pier side eatery with a nice selection of appetizers, salads and a large selection of cocktails and beers. Portion sizes were perfect so that we didnt leave stuffed. Everything was flavorful and melted in your mouth. An absolute staple of the pier at NY that is also black owned and woman owned. Will be coming here again 100%!

2022-07-09Best restaurant at the seaport —food is really fresh and drinks are top notch. I had the nachos and fish tacos with a margarita. The view is amazing and the vibe. I think my server name was Alexandra —she was super attentive and all the other staff as well. The only thing it’s a bit pricey but definitely worth it

2021-09-01Everything you want in a restaurant - great atmosphere, genuinely friendly and helpful staff and management and delicious fresh food. We sat outside with views of the Brooklyn Bridge and the outdoor dining was spacious and comfortable. Many choices on the menu including plant based options. The Fave bean hummus with fresh crudités was absolutely delicious (order it with the additional pita bread), as was the watermelon salad side. The tofu coconut curry was a large portion and absolutely delicious, as was the impossible burger with potatoes. Peach cobbler was fresh and not over sweet. Everything really was perfect! Thank you for a great dinner!

2021-10-31Enjoy fresh, organic food selections in an airy laid back setting, Cali style! My husband and I loved this place. The food was delicious…I had the Organic Egg Scramble and my husband had the Peekytoe Crab Cake. I liked how fresh everything tasted and the food wasn’t over seasoned. Can’t say enough about the cappuccino…it was so good!

2021-10-08Malibu Farm has some of the best brunch vibes in NYC. On the water yet covered in most spots, it will be great no matter the weather. The food is top knot here and the views of the Brooklyn Bridge are unbelievable!!I highly recommend for a group, and they have the best vegetarian and vegan options (but omnivores have plenty of choices too). I highly recommend the cauliflower pizza and espresso martini. We had 2 rounds of espresso martinis; we couldn’t get over how delicious they were. I also was celebrating a special occasion so we had to get the dessert - you can’t go wrong with anything chocolate!
