Wonderful place in Riverdale. Food and service so good it keeps on bringing you back
My mind cant comprehend the complex flavors and the deliciousness of the food here. The steak made me cry, the yucca mash is insane. The drinks are beyond creative. I cant give enough stars. Will be back! They even held my scarf I left accidentally for me.
I had an excellent experience, didn’t have to wait long to be seated and the food was very good. I drank wine with some friends. Our waitress, Ana made sure we were always good at our table and very attentive. Will definitely being coming back as well as recommending to friends.
Super friendly and attentive staff. Small cozy place. Food was great and drinks. Stuff are very knowledgeable as well. Love that the music wasnt blasted where you cant have a conversation.
Very nice place, they have happy hour until 7pm and the tables are for 90mon tops. Attention was good and the background music was delightful I felt like I was in a Latin American restaurant.
Food was on the upper bar of quality. I had the mamajuana sushi, empanaditas and Cuban sliders. All good. Drinks were good quality and the bar tenders know how to mix the drinks well for cocktails. Good vibe and good music. Good for groups or 1 on 1 good times
Bad services tonight. They served my wife food and drink first then mines I waited a half an hour longer to get my cold steak and my drink. Waitress didn’t check up on us at all. When my food finally got there I asked for the check the waitress didn’t even cared to asked if I wanted to the food to go she just ask if she could take the plate, mind you I didn’t even touch my cold food. The worst experience for my first time being there.
One of the best restaurants in Riverdale. The mofongo and roasted pork are exquisite. The atmosphere is chill and the service is nice and attentive.
Great location to come out and have dinner. The server Davi was a sweet heart and had great customer service. Will definitely be coming back soon

Absolutely loved the food, drinks, and the vibes. The wait staff was also amazing! Gissell took care of our table. She was super sweet and attentive. This has officially become my favorite brunch spot. ❤️💃🏽🙌🏽

Service was very poor. Went there for a night out with my friend, I thought we’d support a local restaurant in my neighborhood. The food took an hour from the time we ordered, no one ever said anything to us about the delay in receiving our food. My friend asked and the waiter said she’d check but we never received a concrete answer. The table to my left kept getting constant check ups if their food was good, if there was anything else they needed. I just think if you’re going to run a business everyone should be treated with the same attention. The food wasn’t the best, but the rating goes for the poor customer service.
Wonderful service, I had an excellent experience and the food is really good, Im not usually a drink person but, I tried the mojito and it was really good My husband also enjoyed it both the food and the drink, I recommend the place, I will definitely go back, its good to have a place with different amenities on the Riverdale area!!
I loved the food and the customer service. Our Waitress Yuliette did an amazing job explaining the Manu. The drinks are great and the Happy hour I lovely 5pm-7pm. Definitely coming back soon. I love the environment and the beautiful music.
Legitimately the best restaurant around.Doesn’t matter what I get I end up liking it. My partner and I have been eating here for a few weeks and the server Gisel she was amazing everything about her was great, we will be making a reservation for our next visit.

Ordered takeout & received the wrong sushi order, the burger had no flavor, ordered arepas & didn’t receive the arepas, maduro relleno de bacalao didn’t have any bacalao & the mofongo was just mangu with dry flavorless white chicken. Don’t recommend if you want authentic Latin food.
Place is nice. Service and food was good too. Giving 4 stars because my yuca fongo could have had one or two more shrimps. Everything else was great.
The food was delicious, and the ambiance was wonderful. The waiter, Steven, was attentive and kind. I would definitely eat there again. I ordered a mojito, maduros rellenos de bacalao, and mofongo con churrasco. This is a wonderful addition to The Bronx dining scene.

I ordered a margarita for my friend and they took 30 minutes, the food took about 1 hour to bring it to the table and it was because I told the waitress that she was going to have the worst experience Ive ever had in a restaurant

Good atmosphere. They play a lot of Hispanic music. With regard to food, know that at 11 they close the kitchen or 11:30 until 12 they open only with a few things to snack on and when I asked for a Cuban sandwich without pickles they said it was already prepared (I make the exception in case you dont like it things that are already prepared. )

2022-05-17I love this place for happy hour, brunch, and dinner!The drinks are amazing, happy hour specials are great and dinner is delicious! They also offer bottomless mimosas at Sunday Bruch.I also go with my children which is a plus, they really have something for everyone!If you like to party every Friday and Saturday they also have live djs. Definitely recommend checking them out.

2022-04-25The food was delicious and the drinks were tasty. Serving size was heavy on the starch, and a little small on the protein. Definitely a nice place to go on a date or a small group. Staff were friendly, attentive (even for those sitting outside), made good recommendations. Only negative: if you are sitting outside, neighboring restaurant has really loud ‘club’ music, which didn’t match Mamajuana’s vibe.

I was really impressed by the breadth of the menu and every single thing that came to our table was delicious and also visually appealing. The chef is in it to win it. When the check came I was shocked at how low the total was because wed ordered a lot! Love it, love it, love it.

2022-05-10Loved the vibe here on a Saturday night. Waited about 20 minutes at 7PM for a table for 4. Food was on point! Drinks were on point! Service was really good! I would say it was a bit overpriced but everything has become overpriced after COVID.

2022-07-21Servers came around a little too often asking and checking and made me feel a little rushed but the appetizer platter and drinks I ordered were yum! A nice vibe although starts tonight crowded and louder and the day/eve progresses.

2022-09-10I’m disappointed as I had high expectations for this place. We arrived at 9:15pm and we were seated immediately. 10min passed and no one came to our table to offer us water at least. When a waitress finally came she asked a waiter to get us water which took forever. One of my girlfriends had to get up from the table and order our drinks at the bar after waiting 20mins to finally get some service. Eventually, the waitress comes to the table and tells us that we were seated at the wrong table and will have to check in with her manager…..another 10min passed and as we tried to get a staff member’s attention they would look at us and turn right around almost as if they were avoiding us. The waitress comes back and tells us that she’ll take our orders but in the meantime we would have to wait to be moved to another table and there was no estimated time. We ended up leaving, the service was very unpleasant and unwelcoming. Sucks because I heard good things about this place but maybe I lucked out.

2022-09-111st time at Mamajuana Cafe Prime and on 1st impression it was not good. The space is nicely designed and the staff was friendly and helpful. The place was near empty when we got there but when we put in our drink order there was a noticeable lag in their delivery.My wifes Mimosa was strangely transparent, a sign of a lack of OJ. My Michelada suffered from the same juice ( tomato) deficiency.My wife ordered pancakes and bacon and I ordered chicken and waffles with jalapeno maple syrup. In ordering I was clear to metion that I only wanted dark meat. The waitress confirmed it with me. Once again there was a lag in service. When our meals came my chicken looked great, but the 3 pieces that were in my plate were a piece of thigh, a wing and a piece of breast. That 2 white, 1 dark and there was no jalapeno in the maple syrup. Really? Because of the slow kitchen I ate what I had. BTW, my wifes pancakes were dry and tasteless and the bacon was neither crisp nor flavorful.1 more thing that you must watch. My friend had been there a few times, both with his wife alone and with other couples and never looked close enough to notice this. The the restaurant added an 18% tip to the total of the bill. Then on the credit card slip they then put in suggested tip amounts! I wonder how many unaware diners end up tipping 38%?!?!?
