Manhattan Center in other cities:
Great, classic venue, but if you get there too late, be prepared to be stuck in the back not really able to see anything on stage. Unless youre quite tall. (Or, unless you want to shoulder your way through the crowd to get closer to the front and Im personally too old for that nowadays 😂)
No covid precautions taken with seating. Everyone was crammed together in cheap hotel conference room chairs placed right next to each other. Venue and overly-aggressive staff havent changed since 2000. Still have to pay $1 to a bathroom attendant to get a paper towel to dry your hands. Puff Daddy aint trying to shoot J-Lo here, bro.
Horrible sound! I feel robbed from listening to one of my favorite bands in this venue. All the comments must me by people that can alway afford the most expensive tickets. If you go to general admission you have no right to the sound! IT SUCKS. THIS VENUE ISA RIP OFF. Never go to a concert there because you are either canned in the 1st level like a sardine or in the balcony with horrible sound. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
Went there for a concert for the first time last Friday. I had floor tickets so didnt know what to expect. The line to get in was moving quick and security was fine. The venue inside was very nice and big! The standing floor space was very big. Although it was crowded, it was okay. It was annoying then when people was pushing to get near the stage. I would go again but next time would definitely get actual seats in the balcony. Overall great place! Gallant and Sabrina Claudio did their thang!!
The event was great, and the venue is decently sized, but the security and staff are god awful. Was misled by three different employees when asking where the line to purchase merchandise was post concert to the point that I had to give up because while I thought I was in the right line they said it was the wrong line, then found out I WAS in the right line the first time, but at that point I was so far behind I would have been waiting for four hours. Will never go here again, and would HIGHLY recommend checking if your event is hosted elsewhere also and to go there instead since this venue tends to mislead their customers.
I was here during the 2018 NYCC (New York Comic Con) and this was a good venue for a panel. Audio and visuals were excellent, restrooms were clean and all combined to my having an amazing experience here. Also, accessibility wasnt an issue as bunch of trains from the subway were right next to the Center.
I took my fiance to see brett young and geeze, I was blown away. The venue has a personal feeling. Like you can actually get close to the show and still be able to have a great time. The place was sold out but wasnt to crowded. It is definitely a place to see you favorite perfromer!
Clean and modern venue. I attended The Manhattan Center for New York Comic Con. The place had easy to get through security and it was very nice. The soft drinks were extremely expensive for such a small plastic cup too. I think it was about $6 or $7 for a small cup of Sprite (Cup was fully filled with ice too, when is said light on ice). Overall good venue.
The stage wasnt that nice and some didnt seem to know where anything was like the coat check or the merch tables. One guy was nice enough to find out for me after he didnt even know what I was talking about. The drinks werent that great. It was my first time there so I dont know if the staff was just having an off night or what but theres just a few scenarios I was like really? Oh and you cant go out for a smoke or anything wish I would have known that beforehand. but other than that its a beautiful venue
Beautiful facility however the security here made us feel very uncomfortable and unable to enjoy the fashion week event. I spent a great deal of time just observing how the security guard was treating everyone like a criminal and thug. Avoid this facility for events if possible. The security will most likely make your patrons annoyed.
Usually go here to attend church at Hillsong and its an adequate venue, with a great view of the stage, for the size of this church. The acoustics are sometimes a bit off but Hillsong music is quite loud and Im often way too involved in the worship experience to care.
Love the nights Jodi and Splesh have on there Qool happy hour, probably the best in San Francisco. I love that its next to Funky Door and i can go do some yoga, and afterwards head next door for drinks with friends and not worry about being all sweaty cos everyone else is.That place during those days have the most people Ive ever been during Happy Hour. Its really a fun spot for sure.
While the sound in the venue was good throughout, security was non-existent. The entry line for the Hatsune Miku Expo was wrapped around an entire city block. Doors were scheduled for 7pm with a show start at 8pm. We were rushed in like cattle and there was no security anywhere. They hurried us through the metal detectors, that were loudly ringing with no one checking us. I was wearing steel-toed work boots and they always set the detectors off. There were no bag checks, no wanding, nothing! There were people that scanned our tickets to get into the main concert area. Once inside I stood next to the sound and light board, I heard from the walkie-talkies that the show would start at 8:20pm due to people still being on line. Security was a huge issue at this venue.

2022-08-05This is a prime location on the corner and perfect for a bite to eat!Pros: Everything is extremely fast and the workers sweet and honest. The menu has something for everyone and a mix from day to night.Cons: Quality is not a priority here. Everything looks great but lacks flavor and texture.Overall it’s definitely worth a visit, especially if you are hungry and want something familiar.

2022-03-25The security line was a block long and we missed the opening act because of it - poorly run venue. Also really outdated inside. The ceiling is nice but doesn’t match any shows the venue has …

2022-02-08This is the view from section 203! Overall enjoyable. If the people in the front rows of the section stand, you will HAVE to stand to see over them. Just a heads up.

2019-03-31I attended the Perfume concert this weekend, and it was amazing. While I am sure the venue is full of history and old world charm, I think the experience here can be improved. Firstly, as many other concert-goers have commented - if your are under 6 ft tall you will probably have to move your head occasionally to get a clear view of the stage. If you are under 5.5 - sorry to say this but you are out of luck unless you are within 5 to 10 ft of the stage , or at the back by the drinks and concessions. The design of this venue does not lend itself to general admission standing concerts - unless the stage was raised by a foot or two.In order to get to the front it is best to line up early outside the venue. The venue itself has the large Manhattan Center sign out front ( and not Hammerstein ballroom). My second gripe would be the way people line up and are corralled into separate queues - it is totally possible for people in the back to jump the line and move up in front of you (which is what I did when I arrived 10 min before show start). If you want comfort and are willing to pay 3 times the cost of GA, I would suggest the seated mezzanine section for a unobstructed view of the stage. The staff for this event were very respectful. Costs of drinks are in my opinion comparable to any major venue or sports arena plus a surcharge for being Manhattan - i.e expensive. A double Jack and Coke was $17.

2018-08-23Pretty awesome place to watch or even host an event! The Hammerstein Ballroom is magnificent. Large, but not too big. Every seat in the house seems to be in just the right spot. I shot a Jiujitsu event there and the vibe was amazing! It is def worth a visit.
