Im very careful and meticulous, so I didnt want to decide a school before I actually viewed one. However, I had to for my Visa application. I looked at so many websites, maybe more than 50, to find a school, and I noticed that Manhattan Language had a great reputation and was highly recommended. And now I can say that those it is true and my decision to choose Manhattan Language was right.I would like to talk especially about my teachers. Every teacher has the passion to encourage us to perform our best. Their professional and positive attitude inspires us not only in academic enrichment, but also in our view of life. I really appreciate them. For many people, of course , including me, studying abroad is challenging. Also, life in a big city like NY is very tough, so when I had just moved, I was vulnerable. But all the kind staff, teachers and other students helped me out. Although Improving English is not easy, I will just keep studying with them until Im satisfied with my English ability!
Love Manhattan Language!!! Im from mainland China and I studied at this school for 10 months. It has the best English teachers, organized class schedules, very friendly office staff and diverse after-class activities. I improved my English a lot and learned about US culture at the same time. In addition, I made friends with the students from other countries. Its fantastic to discuss different cultures and traditions with them! The location near Wall Street and World Trade Center is great. No matter you live in New York or New Jersey, its convenient to get there! I really appreciate the consideration and help from all the teachers and friends. I highly recommend Manhattan Language as an English school in New York City. I especially enjoyed the Business English course with Anthony. The teacher is very knowledgeable and has nice experiences working with different countries and cultures. I highly recommend taking this class if you are a business student, a doctor, or anyone doing international business relations. I learned a lot of useful information from this class that I can apply in my work. It was interesting to learn about doing business with different countries. Also, the location of the school is great. It is in the center of the city and close to everything. Thanks to all at Manhattan Language for this experience!

I had a wonderful experience there.I stayed there for five months and enjoyed a lot each moment.First of all, NY is an amazing place to go. We can find everything there, there is a huge cultural diversity there, and it makes the city awesome!Manhattan Language made my life easier there. There are many activities every week, and it is a good opportunity to make friends and know more about NY. There are many types of classes, and the teachers are so smart and focused to improve our skills. Working at Manhattan Language was a fantastic experience that I will never forget. It was great to work with such an experienced, passionate, knowledgable, and funny group of people. The owner works hard to create a strong sense of community among students and employees, and thats exactly what she has done. I appreciated the autonomy given to teachers to be creative and teach the material in the way they believe is most effective. The management was very supportive and listened to the concerns of employees.
I highly recommend Manhattan Language for anyone who would like to learn English in a lovely and effective way. I remember how fascinated I was when I first got here by how people are incredibly friendly and ambitious. Concerning the personnel, I have studied for almost every teacher there and I loved them all!! I loved their teaching style the most, every single one of them has a different method of teaching and I have never disliked any of their methods. Also, administrators and managers are extremely kind and helpful. What’s more, I have been studying at the school for almost 4 months and my English has been improving ever since. More importantly, thanks to this amazing, wonderful, and astonishing school, I got my IELTS score, YAY!!!. Lastly, if you ever decided to join the school, I would advise you to never miss their fabulous activities.

I learned and improved my English in Manhattan Language school for about 16 weeks. It was the most precious time I had in my entire NY life. Some teachers there are now my best ESL teachers and I also made really good international friends there too:)Manhattan Language school is nothing like other other language schools. Its not a very big school, but it was my favorite part: The staff are very caring, very skillful in their teaching career and they also prepare lots of fun and useful activities just for their own students.The teachers are really professional in that their teaching was so helpful to me. Each teacher has his/her own professional strength in teaching fields such as writing, movie English, advanced English, IELTS, TOEFL, and British English ... and each of them nails it in their own field! Every teacher I learned from were all knowledgeable and skillful teachers.Another impressive thing about the teachers here is that they dont just lead a class as whole, but they also care for individual students and their special needs. In short, they are all caring and pay attention to each of you:) Of course, this makes you more motivated to study English harder and communicate with them more:)When it comes to activities, activities and events in Manhattan are not just ordinary programs for international programs. Ive been to other language schools so I can make comparisons. ML teachers prepare its weekly activities just for students sake, not just for the staffs convenience. ML has the best coordinator that really cares for what students want to do in their NY life. So it was touching to see so many activites and events made just for international students, considering their interests. I thought the programs in Manhattan Language school helped me get used to NY life quickly.All things considered, I really want to recommend ML school to my family and close friends, not just any friend;) Im thankful that I could try this school while I was in NY. My family member already tried it and is really satisfied with it. Its worth a try and the staffs here make me want to contact them even after I came back to my ordinary life in my country. The teachers here are not just civil, but really kind and good people as well as excellent teachers. I cant forget my time in ML and would like to go back to NY and visit them again:)
Manhattan Language School is awesome! Compare to other school, they have many levels for students to study and have lots of professional teachers. For six months, I learned a lot through various methods. I am happy to study here.
I love this school. I am a little bit picky to choose language school especially, when it comes to English. This one is not that big school (which I love)however, my teachers are well-informed and I feel like I learned a lot of skills from them. Also reception and administration staff are also very care about their students. I would definitely go back to study there, If I can study in NYC.
I liked the atmosphere and the contact with the other students and the teachers. The teacher was really good, helpful and really patient. I truly recomend Manhattan language,it is a great school with a good organizations and good teachers.i really enjoyed the time that i have passed with them. More than just a school it is like a big family, and it is always productive and fun to study in a comfortable and family like environment. Concerning education they have all kind of teacher and all of them are weird and for the majority it makes them special. Right now i am a college student, like i said before the service is special, I am grateful to them because they helped me a lot through the process of getting in. You may not trust me ,but at least you should try and see.
I am a lucky person for having opportunity to study at Manhattan Language! u2029The whole year which I studied there was full of education and communication in English and that is very important when you start studying English from the elementary level. Teachers are friendly and patient with you, trying encourage you to talk something in English. For me the most unforgetable day in the school was last spring when I won two broadway show tickets at the Schools open door day party! A lot of activities which Manhattan Language creates for students are so helpful to improve your english! u2029 I totally recommend this school to everyone who really would like to study English!
This is an awesome language school in New York City.I had very professional teachers and lovely classmates.Every class is greately helpful for learning your second language, including speaking,grammar,writing and listening.And every weekend our teachers arrange many interesting activities and free courses. In those environment we got to hang out with teachers and other students. This is my best memory in NYC. This school is definitely my first choice when I come back to NYC next time.xxxx
ML is the best school in NYC. All teachers in Manhattan Language are extremely professional. I was satisfied with all courses that they provide. In addition, they have great facilities such as classrooms, a cafeteria and an office. I totally recommend ML.
ML is a wonderful place where I always enjoyed a good atmosphere, best teachers and a very professional management. ML is the place where I received my first real schooling in English and now I can use it in real life. Each day at school was very interesting. I spent just one month at school and it was very useful for me. People are very nice there and it’s a good place for making new friends.School has a lot of activities that gave me a great chance for getting know American culture better.Teachers are very attentive to every student, so there is no need to worry that you will be «lost» there)5+ definitely!Hope to be back;)

ML is the best school in NY. Not only for the way that they teach also because they are good people. They care about us and our learning experience. They make us feel confortable at the facilities. They do a lot activities every week that enforce us to use our speaking habilities. Dont hesitate and choose them!
My two-week English learning in M.L. was far beyond my expectations! As a 20-year veteran in English teaching in Taiwan, I was amazed by the fact that M.L. creates an environment where you feel free to express yourself in English all the time. M.L. really makes you engaged in learning. Well, it is easier said than done reaching this point, given my years of teaching experience. Ill never forget the fond memories of having discussions and sharing personal stories with all those foreign classmates. All my friends and the staff in M.L., I shall return!
It was a brand new experience to me. l feel l did not only advanced my further English learning but l also learned further about American culture. l liked the experience of offering free class that give a great exposure to socialze with the students and English tutors in a supportive and friendly environment. Its a professional language school. Teachers here，are very nice and professional. Especially for the IETLS class, I like the teacher (Ellen)very much. And the outcome is bravo. I cannot image I could get 6.5 after 6 week trainning. thanks a lot
It was the best time with ML. I certainly improved my English a lot,not olny all the teachers were kind and friendly , but also there are so much interesting actives and hand out with teachers .I myself strongly recommend the early morning and film classes .
Manhattan language is the best school in NYC, an excellent location, after classes its nice to spend time in the park admiring the statue of liberty or just stroll along the Broadway.
I signed up for a 3 week French course. Its ok, but I feel like we waste two much time. Were already on week three and barely on page 15 of the textbook. We waste a lot of time having everyone pronounce lists of vocabulary over and over again. I expected a little more of the class. Yes practicing pronunciation helps but I could have done that on my own listening to a tap. My instructor also doesnt speak English well so something she cant answer our questions that effectively. She also wastes time during class when people come in late, stopping to take down their name for attendance when that can be done at the end of class for everyone that comes in late.
TO ALL MANHATTAN LANGUAGE PROSPECTIVE JOB APPLICANTS: DO NOT APPLY.A couple of months ago, I applied for a part-time ESL teacher job position by both mail, and e-mail. When I followed up after 1-2 weeks, there was absolutely no response of any kind from Mrs. Bonita Vander (director) herself, which showed a lack of professionalism. The fact that she would not consider an Asian American, newly CELTA qualified, learning disabled applicant is very disturbing.Other than by e-mail, I followed up by phone. The woman secretary spoke to me in a very rude tone, as if I was wasting her time, even though my phone call was pertaining to a job application that I submitted 1-2 weeks ago. The people who rated this school 4 (or 5) out of 5 stars and wrote positive reviews have no idea what they are talking about. Mrs. Vander and the employees working there were unprofessional, and should be ashamed for treating a learning-disabled job applicant in a condescending way.

I didnt know any English before coming to the United States, so I was worried a lot before coming, but I learned a lot while attending the academy for 3 months. It was a meaningful and meaningful three months for me to meet and learn about their culture.

2022-09-14At the age of 33, I came to NY even I couldnt speaking, writing or listening to any English.Manhattan Language School is a school where teachers give good quality classes even if youre a beginner like that and your English skills will surely improve.People of all ages from different countries came to learn English, so I really enjoyed listening to other countries cultures.The teachers are very unique people and they can enjoy taking classes instead of formal, quietly and boring classes in Japan.I felt that it was a school in an environment where even those over 30 years old who were trying to study abroad could feel at ease.The quality of everything, including teachers, staff, students and location are high and everyone can be satisfied with this school.Im living in NY and speaking english now because I chose Manhattan Language Shcool.

2022-06-13Manhattan Language is the perfect school if you want to study english in New York: from a very kind staff, to good and professional teachers, to be able to see the Liberty Statue from your class!I went with my sister for six weeks and our english has improved a lot, our teachers were open to explain to us every single question we had (and believe me there were a lot).The school also has an activity program every month, we highly recommend you to be part of it because you’re going to practice a lot your english but algo meet a lot of cool people!Manhattan Language has our heart, thank you all for being so kind with us and be part of one of our dreams!With love, Avilez Sisters

2017-12-09I was at Manhattan Language School (26 Broadway) for 9 weeks and it was a very good time for me.All people working there are highly professional. It starts with a personal talk and a written language test where your level will be checked. Once your level has been decided, the first day you can have several trial classes (early morning class, grammar, writing, reading, english through film, business class...). This helps you to find the perfect lessons for you.The school is also offering activities outside school which make it easier to get to know other students....and finally, I also loved the direct view from my classroom to the Statue of Liberty 😊I really hope to find the time to go back and to take other courses.

So my English was significantly improved!Of course, the classes are wonderful!All of the teachers are friendly, smart, and funny!Lastly, the staff in this school kindly helped not only school life but my life in NY!So I strongly recommend this school if youve not decided which school you go to yet!!

2021-12-21Be aware of any language school in New York that only has White instructors.Yes, their students may be diverse from different places - but thats all they see you as. Customers. Just a revolving door for F1 status.Recently, Manhattan Language has had advertisements up looking for ESL Instructors. As an experiment, we had 10 people apply. Most with a TOEFL certificate, one with higher credentials. They all had resumes with white sounding names. We then had five of different backgrounds with Master degrees in ESL or better qualifications. Only the first group got call backs.We are running this study as part of a thesis on discrimination in education in private English education. Manhattan Language proves the point.Their website is clear. A look at their staff demonstrates they are all White/Hispanic with lighter complexions. In NY - people come from everywhere. Non-white people can teach too. They come from places like South Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia etc.Management needs to get into the 21st century NY. Not strategies from the late 1980s.

2021-09-17I was three weeks in NY for vacations, and I went to this school to improve my english.I really grateful for the experience, all the staff is very nice, you feel like at your home. You can learn a lot in every class, the teachers are very very good!!! Also you know great people from different parts of the world.I wanna back to Manhattan Lenguage and I recomend it for all who want have a inolvidable experience :)

2021-08-08The need to improve my business English led me to take lessons for working professionals a little over a year ago.From the first lesson, it became clear - this is what I was looking for!The lessons were real simulations of working cases from the professional business field, but I think more important than this is the fact that our teacher was really interested in each lesson, his charisma, and attitude towards each student made every lesson significantly helpful.As a pandemic started I wanted to continually improve my speaking skill taking lessons online - this is not just convenient for me as a full-time worker, I am immensely pleased that I am learning from the best tutor and working on the quality of my speech, approaching it to the coveted level.So learning with ML for more than a year, I have only good and positive impressions - I have noticeably improved my speech and this is undoubtedly a great merit of my tutor Anthony and ML!

All the staff is always open to help you and they are very nice and friendly. I studied there for 8 weeks and I got a very high TOEFL score. I also improved my speaking skills.This school is amazing.
