We started a search for a puppy to bring home for Xmas in November. Freddy was extremely patient throughout the entire process and counseled me on getting the right type of dog. Freddy and Dylan made sure I found the puppy I was looking for and ensured I brought him home xmas eve as a surprise. Thank you both so much. We are in love with our Berky. ❤️
I considered taking my pet here for grooming until I read the reviews -thebusiness may perform decent services, but the fact that the owner presentsherself online in the manner in which she does is incredibly off-putting.Heres the owners response to somebody elses reasonable review of the business (I copy and pasted this)...Response from the owner a week agoPerhaps you should find a use for your time rather than just being a waste of space.Youre an anonymous loser who knows nothing about myself or my company.WOW. NOPE.
Wow. This place is awful. Is it possible to have worse customer service? Its certainly possible but unlikely. Adopt or go to a reputable breeder. Its difficult to describe all the ways he flagrantly violates the basic precepts of customer service. I suppose its our own fault for using a service thats so shady and craven.Update: The owner called me an ignorant troll. How is this place viable? Who treats customers this way? They seem to have some sort of monopoly on retail pets in Manhattan. This excuses, in their mind, judgemental, superficial treatment of customers. They are not being prudent or observant, but vindictive and nasty. The basic problem is a cloud of deception that involves every interaction from phone calls to in person meetings. The prices and general treatment is based on a whim of the sales person and not any coherent market. The city council needs to shut these businesses down before more people are deceived and animals are harmed.
Sadly, all of the poor reviews about this place are true. Went in tonight to see some kittens and the attendant refused to allow me to see any after he realized I wouldn’t be purchasing the same day. The only reason I wasn’t purchasing was because they barely had any breeds available, and was told by the same attendant that there would be more in the spring time. When I asked him if I could see one of the exotic shorthairs they had, he told me that I could go on google and it will look the exact same. Really bad customer service, and the kittens are very overpriced ($5k and up). And the notes on the smell are also true. Very rank in this place. 0/10.
I went with a friend to look at cats.. she did end up purchasing a cat from this business(unfortunately) but loves her cat.. it was sad to see cats selling for 5k+ when so many beautiful rescues in need of homes out there-breeds included. The manager was very transactional and cats were in tiny dark cages near the restroom-I had to use it and although not open to the public, my friend was purchasing a 5k Egyptian Mau, so he allowed me to use. I had hoped she would rescue or go to a direct breeder where you can see their home vs puppy/kitty mills where pet stores get their pets from. But, she connected with the kitty. Also, the manager on duty did not stop young children from screaming at a cat nonstop. That poor cat. Horrible. Just wreaked of cat/puppy mill.. so sad.
Thank you Manhattan puppies and kittens for my amazing poodle. She is three months old she’s white and cream and she is perfect. I had a very pleasant experience with Freddy. He was amazing. He walked us through all the paperwork, and made my sister and I feel very comfortable with purchasing this pup. Thank you Freddy. I pray she remains healthy and strong, and that we can have her for years and years to come. Btw her mane is Diamond Queen 👑
Please before buying a puppy at this place please please think about it I got my puppy at this place on Tuesday and my puppy has respiratory infection and Parasite and when I took her to the vet they said she was to young to be spayed she was only a month and a couple of days. Then the company accused the vet that they referred me to about not knowing what they were talking about . It’s also hard getting them on the phone, they only prefer texting. To be honest I fell in love with my puppy’s personality and didn’t want to give her back. I just want to warn people before buying a puppy or a cat I do not want what happen to me to happen to other people.
Didn’t have many kittens at the Manhattan location and told us to visit their Westchester location for more. Told us to call them if we want to know what breeds they have at that location, but both locations never answer the phone. They say to text them but they never texted back either… They should work on that. They say if we want prices discussed we have to go to the location, not good for people traveling from afar. When I walked in there was an unhappy customer being helped, or not, who stormed out saying “don’t buy a puppy from them!” The so-called manager responded with a passive aggressive “Have a nice day!!(::::”The way the owner responds to negative reviews is truly pathetic and disgusting to read. I’ve never seen an owner reply like that to their customers. Their responses just make them look really bad it’s kinda funnyThey had one persian kitten, a few months old for ($3900). He was adorable.
We purchased Winston, our exotic longhair at Manhattan puppies and kittens. He’s our first kitten and we couldn’t be happier. He’s a gentle soul that requests extra snuggles all the time. Thank you Fred for working with me and giving me time to have all my questions answered.
You have to be very careful as To how You respond to people on Posts/comments because professionalism is very important. I have not experienced the owner being rude but from reading below it seem as though thats not something that she cares to have. “ A wise man once said nothing” is the old say, You never know people’s intentions or mental state when You say certain things especially in an insulting manner, its rude.Updated Review: Sure @theowner Must think Im the one based off her Reply, u dont wanna play with Me, Every review not qonna be in ur favor corn, Relax before I show face! YOU NEED TO BE EMBARRASSED FOR UR TRASH BEHAVIOR, Play with ur Man Balls do not play with Me.
I was going to get my golden doodle from a breeder, but thought Id see if any stores in the city had some available since I have been looking for VERY long and did not want to wait on the next litter +2 months.I e-mailed and received a response the same day, with pictures, called and got no answer but Meghan called right back and I went in that same day! I was bummed they only had one but was told theyd get more this week.Meghan was great from the moment we stepped in. We fell in love with the puppy and named it Jimmy left a deposit and came back the next day to purchase.Jimmy has been with us since Friday night and he is very smart and healthy. He has already learned to use his we we pad and wait until he is walked outside to poop!! IN JUST 3 nights! My boyfriend and I could not be happier and we really appreciate Meghans help, you can tell she loves all the animals and wants to see them go home with people who are excited for a new addition to their home.I think many people are bitter and resentful. I highly recommend this place!____________________________________________________________________So Update:My mini is not so much a mini more of a small standard and still isnt fully grown. I spoke with Deborah (corresponded) and she was very thorough and great! I also met other goldendoodle parents at the park who purchased standards and their pups ended up more on the mini side! Hard to predict I guess. Anyways she was pretty great about discussing my concerns.____________________________________________________________________Update Jimmy is now almsot 11 months and he is at 43lbs and still growing a bit according to the vet so NOT a mini AT ALL but still the best dog in the world
I purchased my puppy in August and he’s been nothing but healthy and happy. The staff was nice and although I wish they had the puppies out in the open, it won’t change my opinion of the place I had a good experience. Yes the prices are high but honestly my pup was worth every penny! Thank you Gatsby loves his new home!
**WARNING AND CAUTION**PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING HERE!!I purchased a kitten on May 19th 2017 and he passed away on June 5th 2017.We did not receive a certificate of health until June 9th 2017 (4 days after death). Our vet said we were sold a sick kitten.Cost of kitten was $2800 and cost of vet bills was $2700.Breeder is a class B breeder. My boyfriend and I got a munchkin siamese kitten on a friday and for the first 5 hours he threw up once every hour. We felt it must be nerves and to give him time to adjust to his new home. Throughout the weekend he seemed to feel better, but we did notice that he had diarrhea. Monday I noticed small amounts of blood in his stool which was extremely alarming. We went to the vet who said that he seemed to be ill. He was very dehydrated, and he only weighted 1.4 ounces. She said a Kitten who was supposedly three months old (born on march 11) should be nearing 3 lbs. He was found to have coccidia, which was why he had diarrhea. She also found it hard to believe that he had gotten his first two rounds of shots because of his weight. She would not give him any shots until he was better. That day we left with medicine for the coccidia and he was given a fluid shot.As the days went on our kitten stayed in a state of limbo. Another indication he was ill was he never wanted to play. We bought every toy imaginable hoping he would want play. All he would do was sleep, wake up, eat, drink, use the bathroom and go right back to bed. We brought him back to the vet on Friday. The doctor was shocked to see that he was still very dehydrated and weighed the same. We took him back home and did everything we could to make him feel comfortable and happy. Throughout the weekend we could see his health was declining and he was looking very skinny.Wednesday May 31st we took him back to the vet. He was still dehydrated and had diarrhea. Our doctor told us he lost weight and was 1 pound. She recommended he should stay in their facility for the next three days. She also expressed we were sold a sick kitten. My heart was broken. We told her to do whatever it takes to make him healthy. During his time there he was put onto an i.v.. Every day we went and visited him and he seemed to be doing good, but we were warned that once off the i.v. his health could decline again. Finally Sunday we were able to take him home. He seemed happy when we got him but within the hour he took a turn for the worse. He did not want to eat or drink anything. When we put him down to use the bathroom he hopped out could not walk straight. All he wanted to do was curl up in our arms. I called the vet immediately. He said his blood sugar sounds low and to bring him back asap. When we went back to the vets office his temperature was 91 degrees. They wanted us to leave him overnight so he could stay under a heat lamp. I called every other hour and his temperature was rising but he was not eating. Finally I came to the realization that he was not going to make it. I called the vets office at 6 am and said I know he is going to die, I would rather pick him up and let him pass here in his home. I had to wait until 8 when the office was open, but it was too late. We received a call at 7 am telling us he passed away. His cause of death was overload of coccidia leading to intussusception of the bowel. We contacted Deborah and she did whatever a business owner would do. We researched everyone to get to understand why our kitten passed away. We started with the breeder who turns out to be a CLASS B breeder. Her name is Melinda Richards aka Mindy Richards who has online complaints. Her animals are found to have the same symptoms our kitten had. We also contacted the animal hospital that works with Deborah and Manhattan Puppies and Kittens. They informed us that we were supposed to receive a health certificate upon purchase. We did not receive one until Deborah emailed us a picture June 9th 4 days after our kitten passed away. Our vet bills were about the cost of the kitten. Adopt dont shop.
Having read some of the ludicrous comments on here. I wanted to write and put the record straight. Our 5 year old Golden Retriever comes here for regular grooming. Coleen is lovely, friendly and very skilled. She always looks after our dog and he really loves going there.Based on our experience, we decided to go to them when we were looking for a new puppy. They answered my email promptly and explained the entire process. We went to the shop and Emma showed us a couple of puppies. Emma was super friendly, and it was clear from the outset that she loved all the animals under her care.We chose a beautiful Black Labrador, and Megan looked after all the purchase and arrangement. We couldnt pick the puppy up for a few weeks, as we were traveling, so she arranged neutering, vaccinations and care of the puppy until we were ready. We took delivery of our new puppy this weekend and couldnt be more delighted. Our own vet checked him over and said he was a strong, healthy puppy in excellent condition.I havent been asked by anyone to write this review. I just wanted something to counter the negative comments on here. There was really nothing negative about our experience and I recommend this service to you unreservedly.Thank guys.
Visited the store last Tuesday, it was filthy and manager was rude and unhelpful. This store is sourced from puppy mills and is a complete scam. NY district attorney will no doubt slap this place with fines like they did to the Westchester location. I look forward to the day this sweatshop is closed down.
We went in and asked about seeing the animals they had. They were super sketchy and wouldn’t let us. Gave us some weird prompt about “discussing breeds if we were serious”. I have no idea what this place is- what kind of pet store doesn’t display their animals? And doesn’t let normal human customers see them? I had a very odd vibe in this place. I would not give them business.Edit: I went in last night and spoke to a man. I asked about two breeds in particular. He immediately profiled me and assumed that I couldn’t afford being there. It is extremely concerning that the animals are kept in a back room- what are you hiding? How is this place legal? I don’t write reviews often but I was compelled to after my very odd encounter in your business last night. Something felt very off. I actually wrote my review without seeing any others but now that I have, I’m extremely disturbed. Please adopt instead of buying animals from mills and keeping places like this in business.
A few months ago I purchased a kitten here. I came to the store that day to get a kitten, so not much would have prevented me from doing this at your store. However, do know that you almost lost a sale because I was accused of just coming to the store to play with the pets after I said I did not have a specific breed in mind. I have been to other pet stores before, and they had the animals out in the open where I could see them all. This is what I was expecting when visiting your store (they are in the back). I wanted to choose an animal I felt I bonded the most with, hence not having a breed in mind. As for the prices, where they get the pets, etc- you know where they get their pets before stepping foot in the store, I dont know why this is a question. The prices are high, you knew that.I left the store that day with a wonderful pet, which is why there are so many stars on my post. He has been healthy for multiple months and very well behaved for me. He is also adorably affectionate. He doesnt do any bad things (doesnt ruin my furniture or scratch / bite people), and doesnt wake me up early in the morning. However, he makes sure I am awake when my alarm goes off. He likes to cuddle near my head when Im sleeping. I am so glad I got him, he has been a lifesaver and contributes greatly to my standard of living and my happiness.
OK so there are many good review and in like 5-10 years Im planing to buy a kitten or maybe a dog when my current doggy dies. (I do NOT wish that for her though!!!) This place seems very nice and I once visited it and it was very clean and sanitary. All the kittens and doggies were very kind and calm. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
I got my kitten from here and I have no complaints whatsoever. Their response time is immediate. The whole process was smooth and pleasant from the start to the finish.Fred was so attentive to my needs and yet also allowed me ample uninterrupted time to make a decision. No sales push here.I have the utmost respect for this place and the crew. There are so many people coming in and asking them questions and they remain so calm and friendly throughout. To say they are accommodating is an understatement. Their demeanor with the animals show that they care and I felt so comfortable with them while I was there. I adore my kitten and I have no reservations about sending anyone to get a kitten or puppy here. Immaculate operation!
I’m so happy I went here! My puppy is incredible and so healthy and happy! I recommend this place to everyone!! If you are going to shop instead of adopt GO HERE! because they work with reputable breeders who treat the dogs well and don’t over breed their dogs! I can’t remember the name of the man who helped me when I was there but he was amazing !! He knew so much about my puppies breed and my specific puppy as well as every dog he showed me. Seemed like he had a special bond with each of them it was really sweet. I have had a few questions here and there since I got my puppy and they are always there to answer and guide me through this new journey with my little pup. It’s very nice to know my puppy was treated well and taken care of before I got her. These employees truly love animals this is not just a job for them it is their passion! Yes the dogs are expensive I paid around 6k for mine but She is more than worth it and they cost that much because they are taken care of so well and that costs a lot of money! Also they also offer financing. I’m so grateful this place exists if I could give 10 stars I would!
My family got our Yorkie poo puppy here. They allow you to spend time with the puppies so you can get a feel for which you are connecting with. Once you make your decision, they take their time and give you a lot of information on how to care for your puppy. They are expensive but I would still refer people.
Responds Very Poorly And unsatisfactory Via (Phone Or Email) , Focused On InHouse Catering Only And In Person Service (Poor Co-Vid 19 Precautions) , (Insulting To Customers Inquiring animals Or Requested Services Via - Phone Calls) This Performance Is Very Difficult To Customers Such As The Elderly, Youth, Executive Or First Responder Statures
I purchased my puppy in April. She is healthy and wonderful. Our entire experience with this store has been great. Dillon was great during the entire purchasing process, our puppy has to stay in the store for 3 days between purchase time and taking her home due to limitations with microchip placement due to covid closures. We visited her every day for the three days and it was obvious she was being well taken care of.The store covered her initial vet bills, the vet is very nice. I had a great experience with this store.
***GO ELSEWHERE & STAY FAR AWAY*****FRAUDULENT BUSINESS**This business sold my sister and her boyfriend a SICK KITTEN. The kitten was sick all the way home and gradually got worse over time, by the time they got him to the vet it was too late. They even did an autopsy on the poor kitten to see what was wrong, a mix of dehydration, coccidia, and intussusception. The owners and staff have been unresponsive to my sister and her boyfriend. They are unprofessional and sell sick animals to unsuspecting customers. They do not care about the welfare of animals.YOU CAN SEE HOW RUDE THE OWNER IS IN HER RESPONSES TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. RATHER THAN TRYING TO FIX HER OWN BUSINESS MISTAKES, SHE ATTACKS THE REVIEWERS. WHY IS SHE SO DEFENSIVE IF NOTHING IS WRONG LIKE SHE CLAIMS? SHE SAYS EVERYONE IS FALSE WHEN THESE ARE MOST LIKELY THE MOST HONEST REVIEWS ON HERE.THIS PLACE ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY.GO SOMEWHERE WHERE THEY LOVE THEIR ANIMALS TOO.
Amazing store with lovely animals. Staffs are friendly and willing to help you even they are super busy but I won’t said professional. when I played with the puppy, the staff just told me puppies are disgusting because they tried to eat their poop. I understand this is not a proper behavior but it is the nature of dog. It hurts my feeling when I play with the puppy. But anyway, I still get a puppy from the store because the quality of the puppy is amazing.
Before entering this spot i looked at the reviews and was not skeptical at all. Looking at the replies and seeing how passionate the owner is during these comments made me want to come and see what dogs they may have. My wife had told me she wanted a toy dog and he gave us the toy dog of her dreams. The price is reasonable , the place is very nice, and the puppies here are potty trained and have their vaccination shots. I want to thank you again for everything. My wife love her push present and was worth every penny.
We had a wonderful experience here. We had done our research, called ahead and came at opening time. The representative was very knowledgeable, helpful and very thorough. It seems like they are very committed to ensuring animals go to suitable homes and that you select the right breed which I see as a very ethical attitude. We had plenty of time to engage with our future pet and the seller was not pushy at all. The animals are not inexpensive but for time-poor people like us we were happy with the price for a quality, properly documented, healthy, spayed, toilet trained animal. We couldnt have asked for more. Highly recommended!
The workers are So Very Kind and Patient With You! They are considerate and sympathetic to your questions. They make sure to Answer Before any given questions, and Even allow you to have a little play time with the available Puppies! They have over 50 Puppies and Kitties! Different breeds, and the prices are also well! Because They do most of the work by Giving them the needed shots. Feeding them and Giving their own Financial Aid! They are welcoming and well educated in their works! Always Give a positive attitude and Cane make you feel just Comfy! I recommend This Place if you want any Puppies and Kitties! They warmed up my wittle Heart!❤ Get to know sweet people like them around the world!!
I went in a few weeks ago to look for a specific cat breed, they were so helpful answering all questions and walking through the breed I was looking for. Ultimately they asked if I wanted to see two other kittens, as it sounded like that may be more what I was looking for. I regret not purchasing a cat that day, and will be using this place as soon as they have one I want to be available. They let you really bond and interact with each pet, and there is absolutely no rush or pressure to buy, it was a great experience.
HELLO! I have been reading through the reviews of this place and I am disgusted. How dare you speak to potential customers that way, you all should be ashamed. ABSURD.There are plenty of other metropolitan catteries that will not behave in this demeanor so I recommend to just do more research and find them. There is and excellent Scottish Fold cattery in Brooklyn where i recently got my sweet Benji boy !I already know they are going to clap back on this post...Im waiting.
I am not one to write reviews ever, let alone negative ones, but my encounter with this establishment was among the most demeaning and displeasing of my life. As if that wasnt enough, the owners responses to other negative reviews are absolutley repulsive, and embarrassing for no one but their self and their business.Regardless of what about my husband and Is appearance was a turn off for these people, we were fully prepared to spend top dollar for a puppy. Nothing upsets me more than being verbally questioned on that, and that was only one the many many issues this store presented itself with today..When we entered the store the two men at the counter stared at us without saying anything (one was Freddy, Im not sure of the other ones name). No greeting even after I said hello. I asked a few standard questions, each of them answered in an unarguably mocking and contemptuous manner. We were then asked a ridiculous amount of questions that no one else seemed to be asked, and of course not one of them polite. Just one example of this was that the fact we didnt know exactly what breed we wanted, was the most foolish and agitating concept in Freddy and the other mans eyes. I know that this is not an us problem considering we have been to multiple other pet stores in the city with the same mindset, and they were more than happy to assist us in figuring out what breed we wanted. When I asked what medium dogs he had, he told me that he has 50 so he simply cant list them all. But, later on contradicted himself when I started to list a few from his website. He didnt have any of said breeds, and proceeded to list maybe 4 or 5 in my size range that he did have.If I wanted to list each and every inherently offensive comment and question I would be here all day, but if the owner wants to hear them I would happily get on the phone with them and do so. Also, I purposely posted this with both my own name and a workers (I encourage the owner to check the sign in sheet for my name), and gave specifics of our conversation. I say all this since they seem to find a way to discredit each of these reviews, in which these aspects are their reasoning. The quality of this pet store alone makes me so happy that the bill to end puppy retail has been passed in NY. I cant wait to see your business crash and burn.
I got my Siberian Husky and couldn’t be more in love 😢 my Husband and kids saw her and didn’t even think it twice about bringing her back home with us. Even in a Pandemic they were nice enough to let my group of 9 people come in and bond with any puppy we choose. Zoey is so shy ☺️ and playful. Friendly atmosphere and they had a lot of patience with us. Thank you! I do recommend this place to find your life time companion ❤️
Thank you so much for a wonderful experience. Me and partner had been thinking about getting a dog for quite some while, and I’m sure you’ll understand how difficult it could be to find a breeder in the city(unless you have access to a car). Long story-short, we ended up picking up a female corgi and we absolutely love her. Again, thank you guys for being so transparent and clear about all the information needed in regards to maintenance and looking after of puppy. We love her. And as for the odor, it smells like any other pet store you would go too. Clearly don’t understand why other people are so bothered by the smell.
Ill give three stars solely because I have not yet visited this business and am giving the benefit of the doubt. I sincerely hope that my experience here in person will be far different than what Im seeing from the reviews. I plan to visit soon but I am a bit scared to go because I see that the response to reviews with criticism is negative.I understand that negative reviews are hard to read, especially if you feel they arent true. But, I sincerely hope that the owner will come to understand that instead of responding defensively (which can come across as rude), they should be open and simply ask what they can do to improve. Asking might be eye opening and further improve their business. Nobodys perfect and we all have room to grow!
Got a beautiful blue eyed rag doll. Her name is Artemis. She is wonderful and sweet. Arty was 10 months old when I got her, arty is making it difficult to gain trust. Arty just needs some adjusting to the new home and environment and understand that I will not hurt her. She constantly meowing which made me extremely worried. However, the vet did tell me she is perfectly fine and she might be suffering from anxiety and stress since she is in a whole new environment. If I can get more of a background on her I would love that dearly. Other then that I am happy with Artemis she is pedigree which is a plus.
My wife and I purchased a Mini Goldendoodle from this store this past week, and we could not be more grateful for how friendly, welcoming, and informative the staff was as we went through the process of getting our first dog! Freddy, especially, was amazing. He not only introduced us to our goldendoodle, and several other dogs, ensuring we would be sure we wanted the correct one, but took the time over the next few days, as we made our final decision (as we had to wait for an official okay from our landlord), to give us updates (both in person and by text) on the status of the dog. He also promised to keep in touch with future goldendoodle dogs, in case this particular dog did not work out. LUCKILY, that wasnt the case, and over the course of the following days, he walked us through everything we would need, how to prepare, and more. One of the best sales reps Ive worked with in a LONG time :).Finally, there are a lot of comments regarding people feeling rushed and that the dogs are expensive. While it is true the animals are a bit pricier than some other places we had been looking, the overall quality of the pets, as well as the insurance and additional guarantees they give on the dogs, certainly made it worth it (for us), in terms of peace of mind. This may not be the case for everyone, but it was for us, especially as first time dog owners. We also never felt rushed during the process. I think that most likely stemmed from the fact that, yes, as a pet store in the city, these pets sell fast, and they *are* honest with you about that. On the first day we were there, several animals were sold in just the time we spent with our pup, so it can be overwhelming if you are still investigating. So know that it *is* possible if you dont purchase quickly, you could lose the animal you fell in love with. This is kind of just city living, in general (lots of people want the same thing!). Our goldendoodle stayed available for about 3 days, but the one that followed was actually sold the day it arrived. So keep that in mind.Overall, we loved working with this team, and we thank them for all of their assistance!P.S. Im seeing some unfriendly responses from what I assume is the owner in these reviews...I cant speak to who that person is, but please know that the people who are *working* at the store are really amazing, and we appreciated them immensely
My wife and I wanted to thank Dillon For helping us get our beautiful Bella ( Boston Terrier). It’s been a week now and we couldn’t be more happier with our brand new baby Bella. I must say this is one of the best experience I had at any store. Even the owner of facility was very nice when I texted answered any questions or concerns I might have. I’m definitely going to recommend this place to family and friends. Thanks again we are so happy.
Based on your google reviews why would anyone want to get anything from this place very sickening thank god I read the reviews before even attempting to visit. Also keep in mind the way you respond to reviews shows exactly how you conduct yourself and business you’re a weirdo!
I’ve been to this place a few times and on during very busy hours too... Every single time, I was greeted politely and never had any issues with anyone ... I was offered a seat to wait and all my questions were answered promptly, politely, with patience and a lot of professionalism from the owner and staff. I was never pressured to buy nor did I whiteness any form of neglect towards the animals nor any sick animals. I would recommend this place but remember that sometimes you’ll have to wait for your turn patiently.
My fiancé and I got a golden retriever, Daisy, back in May, and she is the healthiest and happiest puppy! The costumer service was amazing and the workers were very kind, patient, and informative. They give us info on the breeder the dog came from and our puppy was healthy and happy!
I bought my Bengal cat from here last year in July 2018. I waited a bit to post, as I wanted to see how my cat health progressed over time. When I first went to the store and met cats, the Bengal that I have now came to me and started biting my shoelace. I thought this was a perfect sign that this is the cat I need, as the other cats in fact were running from me...which is typical, not faulting them here. The staff were friendly and took time to show me their selection.I was told that I wasnt able to take her home and that she needed to stay for 1-2 more weeks since she was small. I thought it was a bit odd but I agreed, she was about 1 pound. I came back to get her one of the following weeks and she was extremely sick once we got home. She had a terrible cough that wouldnt go away, eye boogers and mucus, a sneeze, and she was even shaking at some points...all of which I have on video. I sent this to Deb, the owner, and she immediately asked me to bring my cat back to the store and they paid for her to be in their vets urgent care for about 2 weeks. I was devastated, especially since I had taken off work to spend time acclimating my kitty to my apartment living. My cat seems to be doing okay now, but I will be taking her to have more thorough blood work done soon. Ill be sure to share the results. The owner is extremely rude, point blank period. I have kept all text messages and emails. Overall, I wouldnt buy a pet from here. They all seem to be sick, even some of the replacement cats I looked at when my cat was in the hospital under their care had coughs, also have this on video.Do not buy a pet from here. Just dont.
We got our new puppy Tama from here a week ago. She is so happy, healthy and just an absolute sweetheart. Yes this place is expensive, yes you are paying more than if you go straight through the breeder but that is to be expected. You are going to a pet store in Manhattan, things are obviously going to be on the pricier side. Dillon (I believe I’m remembering his name correct) was very helpful and kind with me and my husband and helped make the experience and easy and quick as possible even though he was super busy with lots of customers. If you are looking to buy a puppy and willing to spend the extra money to skip going through a breeder and for a pure bread pup this is definitely a place I’d recommend.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went in today and asked where the puppy I was interested was from and they could not respond. If I am paying $4,000+ for a puppy I would expect to know what breed the mother was and the father, or at least just the weights of the parents. The owner is extremely disrespectful and does not run a good business. I 100% expect these puppies are from puppy mills as they have no information regarding the puppies parents. This place is awful!!! DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!! THE PUPPIES WERE ALSO SNEEZING AND HAD RUNNY EYES!!!
Love my Bengal cat but right away took him to vet after getting him and turn out they never told me he has a infection in his eye that he will always have for rest of his life cause since he was in shelter over there with other cats it could have past it to him I spent almost 3,000 I shouldn’t have spent that much for my poor cat that had infection in his eye and we can’t do much for it they can give drops but it will come back. But besides that issue everything is okay. They should have low the price for fact his eye is infected. I been very disappointed and so sad that they played me like that. I wish they were able work with me about this issue. I can’t get mad since I know their breed is very expensive but due to infection to his eye they should have lower the price for me. But I want them to know just work with your customers more and I want you know my cat is great. I can say I’m so happy to take him home and Give love to him.
This owner emailed me with a very vague price for a dog I was interested in. I asked for a more definite price and they used the “as per my last email” line one me. And then wrote back to go bother someone else and to quote their exact words when doing my review. No problem? If someone can tell me how to post the actual email I would LOVE to do so. DONT BUY FROM THIS PLACE they are disrespectful and have zero customer service skills. Apparently their prices are VERY inflated also which is an exact reason as to why they won’t give out a definite price over email or the phone. And apparently their animals are cared for very poorly, have scabs on them, and get sold without the proper shots. Do your research before buying from this scum.
Thank you for my little Shih-Tzu on January 30th, 2021! She looks like a little bear. The staff were really nice and friendly to me, and I didn’t have to wait too long outside (10 or 15 minutes). I wish there were pictures of available cats and dogs online or on the wall/windows so it would be easier to know your selections beforehand. I’m very thankful I was able to get a dog on site as it was a grueling process trying to buy an animal on the internet, and my Grandpa and 17 year-old Yorkshire terrier just passed away (bad 2021 so far) so this lifted up my spirit.Update: Everything was good until they agreed to accept the dog back due to the illness and return the funds - but then they wouldn’t return the payment, and they sold the puppy after a week.
We got our cavapoo a little over a month ago from this place and couldn’t be happier! Our dog is healthy and happy! We had the pleasure of working with Freddy and he was by far the best!We came one night to just see what dogs they had to offer. We were surprised that they allowed us to play with dogs in designated areas so we could get a feel for the dog we wanted. Freddy is very patient and let us play with multiple breeds of dogs to make sure we knew what we wanted. He also doesn’t rush you and let’s you be around the dogs and play with them for a long time. We actually didn’t get a dog that day but left contemplating whether we’d buy one or not. After thinking it over, we go there the next morning thinking we were going to buy a toy poodle. Freddy was happy to see us and made us feel at home. He gave us the toy poodle to play with again but we ended up having second thoughts. Freddy acknowledged that and was happy to suggest us another breed. That’s when he brought a cavapoo and we instantly fell in love. Freddy answered all of our questions and let us play with him for a long time. We ended up buying him and he’s been healthy ever since. This was our first dog purchase so we had a bunch of questions. Not once was Freddy ever rushing us or impatient. He welcomed all questions and was happy to answer them all.The price might be a little higher than other places, but it is well worth it to come here. This is the only place that allows you to actually play with the dog before purchasing during these times. They actually acknowledge that there is a process to dog buying, and that you actually have to build a connection to the dog before purchasing. I cannot say how thankful I am to Freddy and this whole company. Anybody giving this place a bad review clearly has some other issue. I recommend this place to anyone looking to buy a puppy! I also commend Freddy for being an upstanding employee!
I am currently working out an Issue with the store owner to find a solution. I purchased a female morkie for over $1,800.00 and definitely did not get what I paid for. From the start, things were going the wrong way. The stitches that were on the puppy were left in for over a month when my veterinarian informed me that those stitches were to be removed way earlier. On top of that, the dog has had a persistent cough that has not been tamed even with the introduction of medicine prescribed by the doctor. Reading other reviews, I understand that my situation is similar to others as in the fact that I was not informed of these issues. If I had been made aware of all of these issues, I may have still purchased the puppy but I would have defiantly thought twice about handing out approximately $2,000.00 for a sick puppy. Finally, the Vet bills still have not been taken care off after a month of personally delivering the bills to the store. I will update this post as the issue progresses.
Very disappointed with this store. We contacted them through the email asking if they have a specific breed of kittens (it is important to us to get exactly that breed). They answered us that they have several available at the store. We got prepared, kids were excited, spent 3 hours driving there and it turned out that they dont have any, all the arrangements and waiting for nothing. They just want you to come and get whatever they have. Its a tiny space with very short selection. You will be suggested to get on the waiting list and make 500 down payment with the VERY high price for a pet overall.
Contacted several times through asking in-person at the store, emailing & texting for getting a medical reimbursement of just around $100 within 15 days of buying my kitten (my kitten was found to have serious ear mites in both ear tubes and the doctor said pet store shouldn’t put her on sale if she’s under unhealthy condition). Was told a check (which never arrives) will be sent to me in 2-3 weeks. Contacted again after one month and never got any responses. My apologies to the staff who was nice and supportive during my visit at the store. However, I’m really tired of reaching out again. Here’s my one-star.
They wouldn’t answer any of my questions online or via text and then they went so far as to block me. I was simply inquiring about price and they refused to answer and as I said then blocked me from their text messaging service! They are rude and I’ve visited them before and they don’t show where they keep their animals which is very shady and is suggestive of unsanitary and or cruel conditions. DONOT USE THEM! Citi pups all the way. So much helpful, courteous and just overall hands down a better experience for the same if not cheaper price
I didnt like their high prices and the assumptions that I could not afford the prices as soon as I walked in the door. You are not able to see the dogs, which is understandable if you are not a serious buyer however, It should not be assumed and ambiguously stated by the front desk representative.
Last May,I got my baby Bella from this place. I did not do my homework. I didnt know the first thing about Bulldogs.Bella was the first pup I saw and I was in love. But she was sick, so my husband and I waited a week for her to be treated.Initially we were told we could take her. Then we were told we had toWait. It was a mess.A day after she was cleared we brought her to a local vet. They said she still had an infection and treated her. They also said that the vaccinations were not verified by an actual vet and would not accept them. Eek.So Bella had to be revaccinated.Bella is amazingly kind and beautiful but she has had her share of medical issues.1. Ear infections.2. Respiratory infections.3. Cherry eye.4. Droopy eye.5. Palate issues.6. Her tail is curled under.I realize now that these are issues that come with Bulldogs but the store did not inform us of these possibilities.Bella is only 11 months old and she has been through a lot. And these have a huge expense. My warning is to be an informed buyer. Do your homework on the specific breed. Go through a recommended breeder.
This store sources dogs from mills. The owner lost a lawsuit for this at another pet store they own (read here)--> Google search Attorney General James Announces Settlement With Westchester Pet Store Over Deceptive Advertising About Health And Wellness Of AnimalsContinues to irresponsibly source dogs and deceive customers at this Manhattan location.
Great experience, I had wanted a Birman and found out about the store online. I sent them an email and they responded with pictures of what they had. Eventually I stopped by the store and they let me play with the kittens and were very nice. Good customer service, and great advice on how to take care of your new pet and veterinary options. They even offer to pay for any expenses within two weeks after purchase of the pet if there are any issues (my Birman had caught a minor eye infection a couple of days after I bought it and everything was covered). The follow up appointments were free and any new medications or vaccinations needed come with a discount! My cat is loving, happy and healthy and the whole family loves my cat. They gave me the proper documents with the vaccines that had been given already that shows where the cat came from and everything. The only thing I would say (and this is not really a negative thing at all) is that I requested a female and they had accidentally sold me a male cat, but thats not a big deal to me. I love my cat either way and its hard to decipher the gender of a cat when theyre young. I eventually will want to get more cats and plan on coming back here. Also, I see some other reviews about the pricing but this business offers payment options. I financed the cat and paid it off fully in a couple of months so there wasnt really much of an issue with that. Will recommend to anyone who is interested! I get so many compliments on the beauty and temperament of my pet!
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS PLACE.(THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE CLOSED DOWN.)Let alone waste your time going into this place, I had one of the most rude, disrespectful encounters with a employee in my life. I went into this store with my girlfriend and was ignored for a good amount of time (around 5 min), me and my girlfriend just were shocked because we have never experienced something like this, the employee than proceeds to give me attitude and treat me with no respect as if he didn’t want to treat me as his equal. It’s 2021 stop treating people like sh$t just because of how they look or who they are, everyone deserves equal treatment. He than proceeds to say he doesn’t want to conduct business with my kind Infront of my significant other. This made me feel so bad and I honestly believe that this place should be closed for treating me like this and other costumers like this because the other bad reviews are bad for a reason.
Love this place! Im a healthcare provider currently working in Manhattan. My colleagues recommended Manhattan Puppies when I expressed the desire for a bulldog. I was extremely impressed with Emma and Ray, they were extremely knowledgeable about all the different breeds, especially my puppy. It was unfortunate that after 48 hours of owning the dog, his eye prolapsed and required surgery. I was extremely overwhelmed by this, not necessarily knowing much about the condition I ended up returning the puppy. With no hesitation and with complete understanding they refunded all costs that I had laid out to purchase the puppy. The owner Deborah actually contacted me personally and was very therapeutic about the situation. This is by far the most upscale pet store I have ever experienced! I know when I am ready, and the time is right, I would only trust Manhattan Puppies to purchase a pet. xoxo
Rude owner, before I read the disheartening responses from the owner within these reviews, I was considering visiting this establishment for buying a beautiful Siamese kitten. The owner clearly has no respect for their customers, and clearly doesn’t care how responding insensitively to their customers would make their business look.
I went to this place, and the man tried to sell me a siamese kitten with an IV in its arm for 2,800 dollars? it was scary to see the other kittens that were covered in their own urine as well as feces, they are selling overpriced/ low pedigree kittens and puppies that arent in good health, and they are caged. when you walk in all you hear is puppies crying from the back area. to say I am disgusted and disappointed isnt in the least what this place deserves. honestly I want to rescue these kittens and puppies from this neglectful place. AND yes the kitten had eminence of ringworm on its body and I am upset and saddened by this place. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE PLEASE DO NOT.
Adopt don’t shop! There are rescues all around the Upper West Side with puppies and kittens who need homes. If you’re buying a puppy or kitten just for how it looks, you aren’t fit to be buying them... pets are not just for display as an accessory. You should buy a pet because you want the love and companionship and can properly care for them. The service is rude here as a pet supply store anyway. At least visit a few rescues in your area and see if you find a dog or cat you fall in love with and if you don’t then buy from a puppy mill, please :(
Do not support this businessEdit: I am completely capable of typing in a scholarly fashion, I choose to write in all lower case letters. Its actually a very trendy way of writing for younger people. But thanks for proving my point that you are a dejected and trivial person, often replying to reviews even when doing so is nugatory. You are simple minded and ignorant. Have fun looking up those words, Professor.second edit: the owner had responded to me saying oNlY aN iDioT meSSAGeS In AlL LoWeR caSE i now see they deleted their response, again thank you for validating that you are AN EXAMPLE OF A TERRIBLE PERSON.
From: Michelle Sierra Confirmation Email: [email protected]: Not sure why I can’t leave a reviewMessage Body:HiNot sure why I can’t leave a review. Just wanted to let you know that I think that you’re employee Freddy is the absolute best!!! He is a master multitasker and gets the job done. I was at your East side location with my daughter on Tues, 9/29/20. Freddy introduced us to our new cavapoo baby Belle. I am absolutely in love with her and couldn’t be happier. I would love to send pics.Freddy you are the best! We felt no pressure to buy and you answered our questions and let us spend time with the puppies. You made sure all the customers that walked in were taken care of and you got the job done. Kudos to you for holding it down on your own! I was tired just watching you lol Thank you for doing a great job and introducing us to our beautiful new baby girl!! I will definitely recommend Manhattan Puppies and Kittens!!!_Michelle and Adriana
I must say I did read the reviews before I went in, and I was a little on the fence about buying here, but as an owner of a business myself I do understand that sometimes reviews can be pretty unfair. The store was very clean all of the times I went in, and Meghan who works there is great! I originally went in for a cat (an abbyssian due to my allergies), for my 5 year old. I wanted a female, but they only had a male. I started looking at poodles due to the fact I have allergies. I looked at 2 poodles, and one was a teacup... I brought my 5 year old in to take a look, and we actually didnt take one home that night... fast forward to another week later, and 3 more calls to Meghan about what we should purchase (cat or dog) and we took home a baby teacup poodle! She is a doll, sweet, loving and my daughter is in love with her puppy! This was a big purchase for my family, and meghan was a big help, and took time to understand my concerns. Our puppy has not went to her vet check yet, but I can tell you this far its been nothing but positive shopping here! Im actually considering another puppy for my mom who lost her baby after 17 years from these guys! If youre looking for a specialty breed, its super hard to find anywhere in NYC, and I would 100% recommend these guys.
I have a kitten that has had health issues since buying her. However, Deborah is working with me to resolve said issues and offering support. She has responded immediately to all my emails. I do not necessarily believe it was this store that caused the health issues my kitten has. As my vet even stated, it probably came from the breeder that supplies the kittens to this location. Since symptomology takes time to present, we often are quick to blame the store when they have done the best they can and have not had the animals that long. Also, the animals have been in transport, so naturally, they are vulnerable and susceptible to getting sick just so we can have availability to see, play and chose whether to buy them. I would only ask that the store take a second look at the breeders they trust as their reputation depends on it. But from my experience, you will at least get their attention and professionalism when choosing an animal from this location.
Highly recommend! Not only did I buy my first pomeranian from them, I went back and bought another one :) Megan absolutely went out of her way to find me exactly what I wanted. So many ads that I came across or breeders that I contacted were scams! These breeders want to sell you something over the Internet without seeing the puppy and want astronomical prices for a puppy that you are forced to fix. I am and always will be a responsible pet owner and refuse to pay top dollar for something and be told how or what I have to do with them when Im the one paying. The whole staff at Manhattan puppies was wonderful. And I can call them with a question and I get an answer right away. I cant say thank you enough to Megan & everyone there for everything they did for our family.Ron & Sue
Purchased a pedigree imperial Shih Tzu and three years later I still have NOT received his pedigree papers. They gave me the phone number of the breeder who doesn’t respond to phone calls. Turns out my dog is not what I paid $2700 for! He is a mix poodle and Maltese which I should have paid a lot less for and he had no chip which they said he had and I had to purchase it from my Vet. I would not buy any dog from them they an unscrupulous store that rip the public off.
Please be aware. I’ve purchased a dog a 3 month year old Caviler King Charles Spaniel puppy. Very cute and playful puppy. I walked in with no intentions on purchasing a dog but I couldn’t help but purchase this pup. I took him home with my family and they loved him. We all grew attachments to this puppy so fast. Our hearts were completely broken a week later when we woke up and found him unconscious. He was brought to the ASPCA and was told that he had heart problems. This is extremely heart breaking!! This hit us all to the core. I can’t believe that he’s gone. We all loved Quincy! Please be aware when purchasing a pet because it is not worth the heartbreak. All it leaves you is heartbreak and a bill that you still have to pay for. I will not be purchasing a pet here again!
I had a nice experience. I love my puppy, but they lied to me and told me he was 6 months and old. The price made sense for a 6 month old Pomeranian, but then later looking through the papers I realized the dates were different on different papers. He is not 6 months old. He is 1 year old. I feel lied to, and cheated.I should have read the reviews before coming. I dont regret buying him, because I love him.To the owner, please dont respond in any attacking or disrespectful way like I see you have a habit of doing. Its not good for business.
I purchased an English Bulldog and Bengal kitten from them. I must say that both my animals are healthy and that I had a very positive experience with them. My Bulldog Mickey has a bit of an underbite, but Im aware that this often happens with the breed. I have to say that overall the store was clean and Meaghan was rather delightful to deal with. Im surprised at some of the negative reviews, as it seems that many are not even clients.
I purchased a shiba inu from them around June 2017 and overall, my experience was great. The store was clean and the service was great. The 2 ladies at the front were very helpful. What I loved most was that youre able to bond with the animals in a mini room. My whole family was able to interact with her until we were comfortable that she was a perfect match for us, and we put down a deposit the same day!She had kennel cough which the girls claimed to have been just regular coughing and spitting up of food she just ate. However, the vet they referred me to said she indeed had kennel cough. It cleared almost immediately though once I started treatment and Manhattan Puppies & Kittens reimbursed the medical bill as they promised. She had 1 other health concern, which started out as a bit of hair loss on her lower back leg. It seemed like a bump and she often bit at it during our visit. I asked about it and again the girls said it shouldnt be anything concerning and theyd have their own vet check her the morning I came to pick her up. Their vet apparently said she was fine but I knew it was abnormal. The same vet they referred me to, had also said it wasnt normal at the same visit regarding her cough. She later lost more hair which went up to her thigh. However, she was clean, no bugs or parasites. Test were run to figure out the cause and also treatment was given. Those vet bills werent reimbursed, even months later. Today, her hair has grown back but she still bites and scratches herself alot.Im hopeful that I will be replied to about her last medical bills regarding her leg. Ive emailed, called and made visits to the store but no luck yet.Bottom line, the pet store was great, staff was friendly. I just wish I can get a reply about the reimbursement of her medical bills. Ive recommended the place to friends and family already.
I am mortified reading these reviews! I purchased a $2,900 Russian Blue kitten a few months ago, she is my first pet after I have moved out of my parents...and I really regret not waiting the extra time to go to a legitimate breeder. My father and I had to HARASS this “company” through email, to get extremely vague information about the price and availability on their Russian Blues. *NOTE* you must send about three emails in a row to get a response. This should have veered us away immediately but I was too excited to get my first pet!The day came, I drove up to Manhattan puppies and brought Lola home for $3,100. While I was playing with her in the store, she was sneezing quite a bit. Thinking nothing of it, I looked at Freddie the clerk, giggled, and he said she was simply sneezing since she has been around so many animals. She was the last kitten left of her breed the day I arrived, and of course the most expensive. I was told she was the highest pedigree, and hence why she was so expensive. I was also told I would receive pedigree papers proving this within 120 days of purchase. Freddie very clearly informed me I would receive them in the mail, I would have not spent this much money on Lola if we did not have papers. Long story short, the papers never came, and 3 emails were sent to only get a very VERY VAGUE response back. I gave up.Three days later Lola’s sneezing turned into 4 sneezes in a row every couple of minutes. She had a terrible terrible cough that sounded like she was coughing. THEY GAVE ME A $3,000 KITTEN WITH BRONCHITIS!!! I took her to the vet immediately and once she was diagnosed and prescribed $120 medicine, my father and I faxed over all of the paper work from the vet to Manhattan Puppies. My dad was nice at first, until he had to legitimately PRY the medical money this place promised us at our date of purchase. It’s a lousy $180, for a place that probably makes well over what they seem to. After whomever was emailing us stopped all communication, I stepped in and began emailing. I said you are not answering my father, they then denied ever receiving emails from his emails, in which I had to FORWARD THEM THE ENTIRE THREAD OF THEM EMAILING MY DAD!!!!!! They made the whole process of reimbursing for Lola’s medical bill that they promised initially would be a breeze!!! ALL FOR A LOUSY $50 REIMBURSEMENT!!!! They fail to tell you in person about some New York Law. Lousy, rude, unhelpful company. If it weren’t for my guilty feeling of leaving all of those sick pure breads in there....I would tell everyone to STAY AWAY!!!!Can we get this place shut down? Seeing so many people in the same situation, and worse, is heart wrenching. I’ve had less issues buying a Yorkie from a LOW END PET STORE IN A MALL! Disgrace to animals everywhere.
This place was the pits! I have no idea where they kept the puppies. 2 play areas in the front . Cages for puppies probably in the back. There was one Persian kitten in a cage up front. Only cat for sale there. The setup of the store was aesthetically unappealing. Cold and depressing and smelly environment. The front desk girl was a 20 something year old with an attitude. I am seeking a simese cat and it is about $500 to $700 dollars. Very overpriced at this shop. I would highly NOT recommend this pet store!
I had a very bad experience with this place and I agree with all the previous clients who posted negative comments because they are unfortunately all true! I rarely post reviews but my experience with this shop was particularly frustrating so I decided to warn other innocent people. The owner is very rude and disrespectful ( you can clearly see it from her aggressive comments below) and she obviously does not have any manners. So we walked into this shop wanting a kitten, which as agreed would be brought in for us to see only if we paid a 500$ deposit. If we liked it then we would proceed with the purchase and if we didnt then we would get our money back. Great. It sounded legitimate and we went for it. Few weeks later, the kitten was brought in, he was very cute but for personal reasons we decided not to buy it. Any other respectable shop would refund you your money and your relationship with them will end here. I waited for a month, which is plenty of time for a refund, but still they did not refund me my money. Fine, it sometimes happens, no biggie, so I decided to investigate. First of all they are unreachable, they do not answer phone calls, emails or messages. I left many voice messages, but no one ever called back. I sent numerous unanswered emails, I sent text messages. Nothing. Then when I got annoyed and started threatening that if they do not answer I will have to call the police and report fraud, the owner Deborah promptly answered and said that she has already refunded me the deposit. ( Why the delay then? Couldnt she tell me that on my first attempt to reach her? If she has nothing to hide, why was she ignoring my messages?) When i finally got her on the phone, I tried to discuss the issue with her, trying to understand where was the problem, but she kept on refusing to talk, she even had the nerve to call me names! I was in disbelief! She technically owed me money but denied it and refused to talk to me in order to discuss the issue! I had to call the bank and dispute the charge and I finally got my money back. Bottomline, the customer service in this shop is non existent, let alone manners. Save your money and your peace of mind and go to another shop where you will be treated properly and get the service you deserve. And Deborah, whatever you might rudely answer, the only fact that you left a customer angry and frustrated proves that you have no clue on how to run a business. Everything goes down to how you treat people and what is their IMPRESSION of you after they have interacted with you. And yes I double checked my grammar, because instead of improving her service she spends her time checking peoples spelling!
After further research Ive decided to change my review. The place is clean , Meghan is fantastic and the dogs are much healthier compared to other shops. Deborahs a bit aggressive but its understood given how careful pet stores in NYC have to be these days. Quite expensive so the client service must match the expense.
This place is HORRIBLE, if I could give it Zero stars I would! I agree will all these negative reviews, even the one about the Perez Hilton rude employee who wouldn’t get off his phone, after I stood outside and took his picture he proceeded to come out and confront me! He made me wait after visiting several days only bc/ my son insisted on their Egyptian Mao! The service was atrocious, the owner defended his employee saying that he was texting him at that exact time I took the picture. He apologized, Then he told me to come back & lied about having another cat (at that point I called him and told him his staff said they didn’t have the cat he mentioned and that I would purchase a cat from somewhere else). Don’t Buy from here!!!!!!
*** and just to update we just recently found out that “the puppy that was getting better” actually ended up dying a few days later!!! The poor sick pup they sold us DIED!Sorry to say my experience matches mostly everyone else’s experience both on here and yelp. just to give a back story my husband kinda blindly went to this place in search of a puppy without doing his research. He fell in love with a schnauzer puppy. Once home I looked into the store and saw mixed reviews but mostly bad ones surrounding sickness of animals etc —which to me was a MAJOR red flag. Against my better judgment I figured I see for myself see if I’m “one of the lucky ones” not to get a sick animal or I assumed as most do that ppl only post about negative but never the positive ...but the sad truth is that the negative comments are the truth —bottom line. The few times we went to see our pup surrounding pups were throwing up —red flags ignored. We eventually got our pup and the same day he also threw up —the next day refused to eat and was having diarrhea. This worried us so we assumed maybe the new environment stressed him we tried everything to get him to eat and he just wasn’t wasn’t energized wasn’t playful just completely out of it. We even enlisted the help of one of the employees Freddy I believe his name was(we had his cell number) as most who will come to find contacting the store itself is nearly impossible as NO ONE EVER PICKS UP AND BARELY RETURNS PHONE CALLS. Nothing worked I practically had to force the poor pup to at least take his vitamins. By the third day we took him to the vet and HE HAD TO BE HOSPITALIZED AS HE WAS THAT SICK! The only thing I appreciate is that the pet store has their vets that give free visits so We didn’t have to pay but only god knows how this will be effecting us in the long run more so we shouldn’t of had to hospitalize him the first few days of getting him! With the mix of reviews practically telling my experience word for word I sent my husband to get a refund cause I refuse to get any closer to a dog / traumatize my daughter off animal that was sold to us sick. We expressed that had he been well n ready and if they were honest bout his current health issues we would’ve waited till he got better but this wasn’t the case we were sold the pup with the reassurance that he was perfectly fine. When my husband brought this to their attention and we mentioned getting business elsewhere they were “offended” I’m sorry but you wouldn’t go buy a car that turned to be junk at a dealership then go back to that dealership expecting a better one— same idea here if my pup was sick and surrounding dogs have been so far... there’s no way I’m getting another from them.I appreciate that they try to reassure their customers with the money back etc within two week and the 6 month warranty to me it shows that they are trying? Or maybe know the problems they’ve had?? Not sure but it wouldn’t make sense to anyone to go back to a store they had a problem with. The person we dealt with wanted to speak to me to apologize and call this an isolated incident and make other claims but the manner in which the tone was , was more DEFENSIVE than Apologetic. He tried to tell us the vet contacted them and said there was nothing wrong with the puppy that he’ll be fine but when we checked on him today she said he wasn’t responding to treatments and wasn’t doing well at all! I’d hate to call someone a liar but situations speak for themselves. In all of my personal years of owning dogs and cats I’ve NEVER gone thru something like this and though this has been an isolated incident for me this has NOT been an isolated incident for the store. Too many ppl saying the same things. To put the icing on the cake they themselves do not take checks ..we paid in cash full just to have our refund via CHECK ?! Now the kicker is the check they gave has to be verified by the Westchester location...bad considering they never pick up their phone so it’s just bad business all around as I write this we await our refund smh.
I wanted to buy a puppy from this store. I was super excited. However, after reading the reviews from previous customers as well as the responses from the owners, I have changed my mind. Understandbly customers will post bad reviews, it comes with the territory of owning and conducting a business. I do question why an owner would bother responding to the reviews in such a negative and disrespectful manner. It is highly off putting and would make someone such as myself refuse to do business with or let alone visit an establishment whose owner goes online and acts like such a fool. I give this store one star. For the simple fact that the owner has responded to reviews disrespectfully and without taste. The more time you spend flying off the handle over bad reviews, you could be focusing on making your others customers happy and taking good care of the animals. To be clear, I am highly educated, have a pet of my own, and a business to boot. If u would like to discuss my negative reviews. I will gladly send me email me.
Scam, stay away from this establishment!I bought a Russian Blue cat from this place and later I learned it was Not a true Russian Blue but just a mutt with grey/blue coat (a grey American Short hair as it is known and which I could have gotten at a rescue place for a tiny fraction of the cost).I’ve called this establishment numerous times in the past few weeks to discuss the issue but they won’t answer the phone nor reply to my voicemails or text messages.I was certainly scammed! It’s my first time having a cat and I had read about Russian Blues and was very intrigued by it (I wanted an exotic breed). I was concerned that the cat I bought had white patches but the lady at the store spent a great amount of effort explaining to me how the cat would change as she ages and would certainly look like a Russian Blue once mature. I’m a dog owner as well, and the puppies of the breed I have (greyhound) look nothing like the adults. So I thought it was a similar situation and I believed her, or rather, I was deceived by her.I have consulted with Russian blue breeders and other people who know the breed well. They all say the same thing: you Do Not have a Russian Blue, this is just a grey cat (maybe a mixture of a Russian blue with something else). My cat has white patches, her face is getting rounder, and her eyes are getting browner as she ages. Again, the lady at the pet shop put a great amount of effort lying to me about her eyes would turn vivid green as she ages. It looks like I’ll be waiting forever.I still like my cat, but I should never have paid over $2,000 (the cost of a true pure breed Russian Blue) for a mutt. I’m also wondering if there are legal grounds here since we have a contract stating the I was sold a Russian Blue.My advice: stay away from this place and get your pet from a trustworthy breeder.
My cat from Westchester/Manhattan Puppies and Kittens it the best thing that has ever happened to me. Little Louie is the love of my life and I wouldnt change a thing about the whole process of getting him. I know some people are against buying animals and it truly isnt for everyone but I was looking for a particular cat thats why I decided to go down this path. I have adopted in the past but I wanted to try something new.My experience at both stores was amazing. I would say I preferred the Manhattan store more as the staff was a little bit more friendly. When I picked up my kitten( I was 40 minutes late and they stayed open for me) I was fully informed on how to take care of him, all of his shots, his microchip, the food he eats, how to groom him, etc. Every last detail was explained to me about my cat.I took Louie to the vet the following day and he was perfectly healthy! I know that the store would have refunded me my money or taken Louie back if someone was seriously wrong with him. They were so nice they charged me only $300 (most vets in Manhattan want $500) to neuter Louie and transport him to the Manhattan Store where I reside. They also texted me updates on his surgery and how he was doing! I really appreciated that gesture.Overall I would say that I loved my experience with Westchester/ Manhattan Puppies and Kittens and I wouldnt change it for the world! I would recommend going into the store and seeing for yourself. I got a best friend out of the experience and I am sure you can find one too!
I was interested in checking out some cats. So we hopped into this place, we where shown some nice cats, its a nice place helpful staff. I asked for the price they asked $4,800 for a Egyptian Mau, in my head I was like I can buy a tiger cub for that price thanks but no thanks.
Wildly unorganized operation and prices are very inflated. Business is run like it’s 80s-90s, no digital offering, pictures of animals on website are outdated, they are impossible to get a hold of, and ask you to communicate via text message which they are very slow to respond to. Took me 3 days to get the answers I needed. Will not discuss price over phone.Animals are very cute but it’s time to modernize.
We bought two Egyptian Mau kittens, a male and a female. The female had severe diarrhea the first night, requiring me and my son to be 24 hour nurses as you needed 4 hands to wipe the poor kitten after such one diarrhea episode. The male presented with vomiting 2 days later. Both had severely reduced appetite, the female more than the male. The sales girls at Manhattan Puppies and Kittens suggested fresh cooked chicken breast and rice, no success. I took both kittens to the vet on Monday, 2 days after purchase. The vet made a remark that their vaccination records were off by 3 weeks., they had been vaccinated to early. I continued to do so for the next days, brought them in on Tuesday, as well on Wednesday. They were tested for the obvious, no result. The female kitten would always perk up at the vet because of anxiety but as soon as she was home she would be completely lethargic. We barely dared to go to sleep. At 1.00 am at the night from Wednesday to Thursday the girl practically collapsed ( I am a just a physician, not a vet, but I feel I could tell that she was severely sick), I decided to pack her up and drive her to the ER of Blue Pearl Hospital. They finally came up with the diagnosis: Panleukopenia. The doctor offered me 2 options: 1. hospitalization because she would need IV fluids and IV antibiotcs , the cost for 1 night would have been close to 1000 $ per cat. I was told that I am looking into a 4 weeks stay with a very uncertain outcome as the fatality rate is extremely high even when optimally treated. And 2. they offered to euthanize her. I found myself in the impossible situation to come home and have to tell my son that I agreed to euthanize his new kitten. Neither could I pay the cost for hospitalization. I decided to have her injected with subcutaneaus fluids and bring her home and hopefully bridge the time until I would bring her to Manhattan Puppies and Kittens who has a contract with Eastside Animal Hospital. She made it until the morning and I had to inform my son about the devastating diagnosis. I returned the female kitten. When I was in the store to return her I could barely belive what I saw. There was a major downpour and Manhattan Puppies and Kittens probably did not expect customers. In each of the elegant cubicles were about 3 kittens placed with diaper pads, water bowls and all kittens looked like mine, completely lethargic, they looked like breeding hens and not like kittens. I took 2 pictures. My son was still having high hopes for the male kitten. But it took only 2 more days before he too was very lethargic and his diarrhea got much worse. Eastside Animal Hospital was not willing to accommodate for an appointment knowing the fatal diagnosis, because per contract they would have to treat a cat for free within the first 7 days of purchase. We had no choice but to return the male as well. Our son was devastated and beyond consolable. We were at this point out over $1500 in veterinary bills which the owner of Manhattan Puppies and Kittens, Deborah, did not refund. It took weeks and multiple nasty emails to get a refund on the kittens, 5000 $ plus tax . They carry the Microchip OAO2276642 and OAO2283358. Westchester Puppies and Kittens and Manhattan Puppies and Kittens are not registered companies in the State of New York. Deborah claims she is a licensed professional but will not disclose what license she has. She accused us of slanderous and fictitious statements. We have all medical records to prove the above. We cannot sue in small claims court for the vet costs because the contract only allows to either treat or return but not both. We ended up buying an Egyptian Mau from a breeder in Texas. He is pefectly healthy and we are so happy to have him.
AWFUL PLACE!!!1. place smells really bad, very dirty, and you can hear the puppies crying in the back. heartbreaking.2. the employees are rude, not professional and generally seems like they dont really want to be there or like animals.3. i called twice to the store and there was no answer, but after a while i got a text message saying they couldnt pick up and asking for my email to send me info. i gave them my email and explained i want to get a shih tzu puppy. i got an email back with 9 options, including the puppies pictures and names. the email stated that the puppies are ready to go home with their new family.the email also stated that its better if i came to visit right away and choose my new puppy.i got very excited. me and my boyfriend left work early and went to the store (not before i emailed back that i will be coming to the store in the evening to see those puppies).when we got to the store, there were no shih tzus!!! not even one!! and the guy working there (said his name was Ray) claimed they were all adopted!!! remind you - 3 hours before that, i got an email with 9 available puppies. how could they all be adopted in 3 hour?????obviously, its all a big joke. they just want you there, to take advantage of you and get a deposit on a dog you have never seen before.treating dogs like a product, and people like walking wallets.this place is a disgrace.by the way. i have read the other reviews and the owners reply. very rude, very aggressive. and to me thats one more proof this place should absolutely be avoided by anyone who loves animals.i feel very sad for the puppies and kittens over there.
THEY KILLED MY KITTENFour months ago we purchased a Clouded Jac Cat from this store for $2600. When we went to collect our Walter we noticed that he was sneezing, their response was Oh he just has a little cat cold - it happens to pets from pet shops. That little cat cold persisted for the next 4 months and cost us thousands of dollars in Vet bills. Finally, that little cold progressed to FIP with the subsequent story of kidney failure, neurologic compromise, liver involvement and ultimately needing to euthanize our poor Walter. Its a horrific and traumatizing experience to euthanize any pet, but that trauma is exponentially magnified when that pet is a baby, who has never had the chance to live a fully loved life.At the beginning of this process we reached out to the pet store for guidance, but it was impossible to reach anyone by phone - only text message was possible. Debbie - the owner - was incredibly rude unprofessional and dismissive. Freddie - the front clerk - was ridiculous. They did pay 50% of the initial costs for the first month of Vet bills, but that was done begrudgingly on their part. after this we never reached to them again bc it was clear that that would only bring us more frustration and anger. Both bc of their poor and unprofessional practices and bc there was a little life that was directly and adversely affected by them. They killed our Walter. And this shop gets to get away with and remain unaccountable. As you, the reader, review the many many tragic stories of animals dying after purchase from this place - please reconsider your support of this store. We despise these owners. Murderers for how they treat the animals. The back room is off limits. Only lord knows to what the animals are exposed.
STAY AWAY!!! dont need to say much just read the owners response to customers concerns, who runs a business like this.enough said. Thank you for the owner for replying like this, it’s perfect for character building for the lawsuits coming their way. Much appreciated!!
They are the worsttttttI dont know why i didnt read all the bad reviews on the internet before i went to this place ! I got a kitten from them i was lucky i guess but the guys there were arrogant with bad attitude they didnt even gave me details of the breed and age any way i paid for this kitten and left then i wanted another kitten to keep mine a company i looked online for breeders and stores with no luck so i went back to this store and the struggle began ! I got a kitten home and i couldnt sleep that night she was sick vomiting and a discharge coming out of her eyes i was scared it will make my first kitten sick too so i took her in the morning to the vet and he gave her some medicines but he asked me to keep her away from the other kitten also her size was too small for her age ! They didnt mention all this when i got her and all the kitten there were having a bad eyes. So i called the store they said they cant do any thing about it they said i signed a contract already ! So i contacted the owner who never answer my calls only texting her name is Debbie she was super nice before i paid ofcourse , i explained to her what happening she didnt give a **** about her kitten health she was telling me no refund ! I told her you have to take the kitten shes sick i cant keep her so i sent it to her then i called again to send her medicines and the receipt for the shots i gave her at the vet it was 170$ with no reply i texted and calls over 10 times she never answered then she called back saying she need a prove a record from a vet that the cat is un fit for purchase ! Then she told me you should keep her shes not dying ! In a very rude way i had to yell at her saying you really care for the money more than your pet ! So i got the record from the vet and i she ignored calls and text again for more than a month ! I went to my bank and i filed an investigation to get my money back it was almost 1900$ so she texted me saying she refunded the money but she never did ! So i called my bank again and waited for another month !They honestly should shut this place down for the sake of this poor animals and this owner should find her another business maybe selling wigs or something and learn how to run a business and be professional and honest.
The shop looks clean in front, but behind the wall where they keep their puppies and kitten in very dirty conditions. I didnt feel that their animals are loved. One of long hair kitten I saw had dried feces all over and her little paws were very dirty with a lot of clumped litter stacked in between toes . Long hair cats need to be groomed every day but the kitten didnt seem to be groomed for a long time. I feel so bad for those innocent little animals. They need to be treated better.
I have been trying to contact Manhattan Puppies all day, to get information about their prices and other questions I have before I take a ride to NY for a puppy. They dont answer the phone. I figured they are busy, not a problem. BUT, after reading Deborah replies when she gets 1 star or a customer try to tell us their bad experience, I decided not to go. Her replies are rude and unprofessional. With her replies she proofed the bad reviews are true. A manager or the owner should start the reply with an apology for the bad experience ect., then explain what happen in a professional way. Not insult the customer by talking about their grammar, that have nothing to do with their experience or issue. Also saying these are the people I have to deal with and so on. YES..., I gave you 1 star for being unprofessional and rude. Good luck
Worst customer service ever. The phone number doesn’t work so I was trying to get ahold of them via text. They were so unresponsive and vague to the point of being flat out rude. See exchange below. They responded at 3AM! Bizarre and inconsiderate. Buying a dog is a huge deal, one that requires as much info as possible. I would not conduct business with these unprofessionals.
I got my Pom from here a couple years ago, and even though she came with some kinks, might be mixed with a little something, and was expensive for my range...I wouldnt change her for the WORLD. Hands down best furry sister EVER! We love our TRIXIE! Giving 5 stars on the strength that whoever runs the comments has the strongest clap back game on the internet lol.
I highly recommend Manhatten Puppies & Kittens. Deb, Freddy and the entire staff were amazing. I contacted Deb last month because we had lost our 13 year old Australian mix over the summer and were looking for another dog for our family. We had worked with Deb before she had found us our beautiful and kind Russian Blue cat Dimitri who is now 13 years old. Deb immediately responded to me and found us a beautiful 3 month old Australian Sheppard. We picked Buster up last Saturday at the store. It was very busy but Freddy & the entire staff were very attentive to everyone and took very good care of us. We spent a while getting to know Buster and once we were ready Freddy went over every detail so that our entire family had all the information we needed to bring Buster home safely. It has been a week and Buster is doing amazing. He is a perfect fit right to our family. The vet says he is very healthy and up to date all vaccinations. I have nothing but positve things to say about my families experience and I would highly recommend Manhatten Puppies & Kittens to everyone.
I have been trying to get in contact with someone at the store for a month with no success. Was told I would get all documents on my puppy within 2-3 months and it has been past that time already and have yet to receive anything. In person customer service was good, but try getting in contact with anyone and itll never happen and no will call you back.
Just got my russian blue kitten here yesterday and he is so well behaved and adorable. he sleeps nicely on the best next to me and my husband and is playful. The workers had no hesitation to helping me pick the right kitten, i had 7 kittens in the room with me at once trying to see which one i clicked best with. Also got a referal for a vet there with for affordable promotional prices. They give the animals medical history and all. I saw a lot of bad reviews before i got my kitten but i havent experienced anything bad so this is what i personally think so maybe it helps someone else
I was considering getting an animal from this place and I am SO glad I did not. It is disgusting the way the owner of this establishment handles business. To call customers that leave honest reviews that you disagree with “mentally unstable” is not only extremely unprofessional but rude and egregious. You are responsible for the care of living breathing animals the least you could do is show respect and transparency to your customers. It’s clear the problem is YOU
“Be Aware” if you want to buy a puppy that’s unhealthy and sick this is deff the place to go. My niece purchased a dog 12 days ago the first night he had a little caugh. We thought it may be just allergies. So I set up a vet appointment for the 26th. But he didn’t make it. It was so sudden. He was happy. Ran around happily. But he did sleep a lot. She purchased him as a Christmas gift for my daughter who is 8 we all fell in love with the pup. Well this morning 12/19/2018 my eight year old found him dead. He was only 12 weeks old. My child and I have never cried so much in our lives. I know I can never erase this from her memory. This was her first dog. I took his body to the ASPCA and they informed us that it was heart failure. This is the worst Christmas ever. Tried calling but no one answers. We live in rockland county but I will deff be stopping by this weekend. I wish I read all these other reviews before getting the puppy. This is horrible. And I feel so bad for all the other pets that they have. I will be pushing to report them. TO THE FULLEST!!!!!! Adopt please. Save Yourself the heart ache and the pain. From the reviews these little friends are 50/50. Be weary. This has really shook our household. The vet at the ASPCA was surprised he was alive this long. He wanted to live!!!😢 And to the owner I know you started this business because of your love for animals but I think you’ve lost it. Criticism is constructive. Use it! And find your love for these animals. Because if you had it you wouldn’t argue with these families. In edition I just want to say that the owner isn’t a vet. So she depend on the vet clearance of these little friends. This I understand. She is jus more concerned of finding a happy home for the little ones. But to be honest, this experience has hurt this whole family to the core. I don’t know if it can be fixed. That is completely up to my eight year old. We were so happy. I understand sometimes things just happen but we just needed more compassion. We couldn’t even speak to no one. Hence why we took Quincy to ASPCA. You guys never answered. “Hurt” That 1 star is deff for your Vet. Because I know you rely on them to clear your animals as healthy.Never again. This was so hard for us. All I want to say is Happy Holidays. Because ours won’t be to happy. We’re hurting.
I rate this place 4.5 stars. I went to the Columbus Ave. store looking for a teacup pomeranian or poodle. After emailing back and forth and being provided pictures, I decided I wanted the teacup poodle. They told me the poodle had been transferred to their Westchester store. I was pretty bummed but went to the store anyway to look for other options. After I stated that I truly just want the teacup poodle and nothing else they provided me a free uber all the way to Westchester (pretty far and not train accessible) and a free ride back if I bought something. The only reason I want to subtract a star is because once I arrived they claimed the one poodle I came for had just been sold. Total bullshit! They offered me another pup for $400 more but I swear IT WAS THE DOG I CAME FOR!! So that really pissed me off because the guy tried to act like it was a completely different dog to try to charge more. After we negotiated a bit I still wound up paying a bit more than the original price I was told.I have to give a good rating because the ladies at the Manhattan location treated me so well and kept the place super clean. They let me play with a teacup pomeranian and didnt pressure me at all. As for the Weschester location, after arguing about the price for a bit I will say the guy treated me well after we came to an agreement and thoroughly went over the paper work with me. So far my puppy seems happy but you can tell shes used to a cage because she acts like she has no freedom (or she just may not be comfortable in her new surroundings yet.)I will update if I notice any health problems with my new pup but so far so good. Thank you Manhattan Puppies and Kittens!!-Jazz
Horrible place !! On wed site they stats they had the puppy I was looking for available they also sent me an email confirming that. Drove from far away to see a puppy when I got there was informed no puppy was available even tho the website stats they have several in stock. Place also smell🤢🤢🤢🤮
I havent even stepped foot in this place but I would never want to do business with someone who is as disrespectful as the person replying to reviews here. Whether or not Ive bought a pet here is irrelevant if the vibe I get from owners replies make her seem like a terrible person. Totally turned me off to ever coming here. I will still be going in at some point, just to give it a shot but am doubtful. Will post an update when I do.
Awful pet shop. I called and inquired about Russian blue cats and Birmans and they sent me pictures and told me they have a bunch in stock. I went to the store the same day and they didn’t have any in stock. All lies, to get you to come to the shop. They have all the pets in the basement so you can’t see the living conditions they are in. They brought up a random cat which I wasn’t interested in to bait and switch sell and it was sneezing non-stop and was sick. Avoid at all costs!
Never coming here again so dissapointed in everything! This was one of my favorite go to places in westchester but after they stole my money and would t return it Im telling everyone I know never to come here ever!!!! Also very high pressure sales typical of a true puppy mill. Wouldnt even give one star! DisgustedStay away!!! Save your money also manager is the nastiest person Ive ever met in my entire life !
This place is not the best to get puppies my dog had an ear infection and parasites, I took it the very next day so he was in that place all the time with those illness. Also dont get fooled by if the dog gets sick you will get refund that is not true a veterinarian has to certify that the dog is unfit to be sold, which is very hard to prove!! go somewhere else.
First off I loved the place. I got to play with however many kits I wanted and pups for however long. The payment process surprised me because even though theyre pricey, they made it possible to purchase my pup and pay off my balance in 36months. Wow! My pup is the best pup I could ever have and I cant wait to buy from them again. It was nice and I got to bring my pup home same day.UPDATE: so Ive had my Sharpeagle pup for 4 months and hes now 6months as of nov13 and went from the little 8ibs pup at the store to this now 30ibs and growing handsome little man. Hes still the very joy in my everyday life and have helped me tremendously with my depression. Going back soon to get my wife a Maine coon kitten hopefully and because of how well me and my lil boy worked out shes excited. I regret alot of things in life and has never grown up with my own dog. Now I have him and Im never letting go. I love him so much. Thanks guys!
I wish I could post this multiple times. We got a 4month old husky. since day one he has been sick with parasites, diarrhea non stop. We called them back and said they couldnt do anything. We have spend over $1000 in veterinarian appointments and his still sick. Horrible place, all their pets are sick. When he went to meet my husky the girl in the cubicle next to mine had a dog as well and he pooped watery diarrhea. The dogs are sick. And with parasites
My mother and I went into your store feel in love with the cutiest havanice pup it was love at first sight with Quwinkie shes the loving pup. So sweet. We love her with all our heat and soul. I just put picks on your Google and Google + . I hope it went through. Vet said shes 16LBS. And healthy. Thank you for a loving sweet puppySincerely Kim and Arlene
I wish I could give this a zero star I came here to get a puppy and their puppies looked sick and the place smelled horrendous the puppies smelled and the owner is not a good sells person he said the gender of the dog was a girl and when I look at the dog private area it was a boy and they over charge the puppies so I don’t recommend them and the owner are disrespectful and ludicrous it not my fault the place smelled like a meat shop
So we visited today The store , the guy who sat there was too busy playing with his phone , so very puppy we asked about he said they don’t hove, which is untrue , because when we asked the other girl she said they do have , but when she went to get us one , the guy jumped up went after ( left his phone even ) and whispered to her something, after the moment she went out and said : Unfortunately we don’t have... So I don’t want what was this attitude about , he didn’t want to show us some puppies probably because he didn’t think we want to buy any and came in just to pet ... Even so ? Those puppies sit in smallest cages all day , what so bad about letting them play a bit ??? I think this person unfit for the place like this , he is too busy playing with his phone instead of taking care of dogs and finding clients ... sorry that’s how it looked like ...
Horrible place to get animals from. they sold me a kitten with FIP that ended up passing away. they keep a dirty place for the animals, all they want is your money beware. and for the owner, your a very disrespectful in these comments, although i never dealt with you, just a worker that worked there, i hope you have the same fate as these sick animals your selling, eventual death. i loved my kitten tho, wish she wasnt sick and didnt past away
I was interested in visiting this store and making a purchase however I came to look at reviews first. The owners responses to people’s reviews caught me off guard. It’s giving rude and unprofessional so now I’m nervous about going. We’ll see. update: yeah its clipped.. look at their response... youre missing the opportunity to get new clients by being rude on google reviews!
Horrible experience. Staff was very unprofessional and unorganized. You can tell the owner is unprofessional by his nasty remarks he leaves on people who express their experiences . The puppies themselves, are most likely from puppy mills outside of new york. My overall experience was terrible. I strongly advise you do your research and go elsewhere.
SHE SAYS EVERYONE IS FALSE WHEN THESE ARE MOST LIKELY THE MOST HONEST REVIEWS ON HERE.THIS PLACE ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY.GO SOMEWHERE WHERE THEY LOVE THEIR ANIMALS TOO.The owner commented saying she is going to report and remove my review, most likely because this is the only place she can have reviews removed. She claims there is no documentation and my review is false. I will be receiving photographs of documentation from my sister and adding the pictures. GOOD LUCK TRYING TO SILENCE ME.
Great service. I did not qualify for their financial plan but they did give me options and i definitly would not mind buying a pup from them. The establishment is very clean and the puppies look to be very healthy. This place is awesome and the staff is very friendly
This place is great. friendly and helpful staff I wish I could give you more stars. my husband and I picked up the cutest teacup Yorkie back in April of this year .we name her Loonette .she is very smart healthy and playful .Her personality is bigger than her 😄 she is just the sweetest thing .when people ask where did we get her from i always make sure to give them your info. thank you guys
The guy that is in charge is super patience, he shows you the puppies base in what you want and he explains everything very good also you can play with them before you decide witch one you want . I was hesitating to buy a dog because I had heard that a cute dog behind a window that is for sale could be a sick dog although we got one , so you have to be very careful , after I got my puppy I read the reviews and all where similar , my dog had an ear infection since I got him and it had be treatened since this poor guy had suffered a lot and I had spend a lot of money trying to cure him Im so sad and kind of disappointed I just write to customer service and I hope I get an answer soon
I haven’t received a dog yet and I am already seeing the rudeness coming from an employee through text. I was hoping from reading the other awful reviews that my experience would be different, but sadly that isn’t the case. Off to a bad start. The employee (Fred) as an exception was very nice and answered all my questions.
THIS Plays Full Of Promises But Not Customer Service >I put a deposit on the puppy April 14 and today is July 19 no promist puppy and having truble getting my deposit back for past 2 week no refond no phone call not answering phones .Will have to dispute with my credit card. This Plays Full Of Promises But Not Customer Service .
Contact them several times never answered phone only sent emails. They said they had the breed i wanted 2 days before I went .got there they only had 2 cats none that they promised.Horrible experience. Would never recommend to anyone. If i could give it a zero i would.
Listen to all bad review, they all day the SAME THING!!!. I would leave the same worded review but so many have already, is so crazy how this place is still in business. They most have friends in high places. I feel like such a fool, not only did I buy from the once and Im kicking myself for this I went back and second time. Theyve been doing this for so long, they play the game well. JUST DONT EVEN BOTHER WITH THEM!!!. They will tell you whatever to make you buy and once you do they got ya.
I played $2,000 for a very sick cat that has herpes. Debra the owner, never gave me the money she said she would repay me back ...... If you want a SICK animal buy here, but otherwise buy from the original real breeder...you cut out the lame Manhattan Puppies store who lies to you.
Wow! I never imagined from the website and reviews that I would have such an awful experience. On the site it shows they had 8 kittens of the breed I was interested in. I texted to confirm if they were still available and received a text response yes. Two days later I went with every intention of bringing home my new kitten. Maybe the guy was having off day? He was dismissive and rushed saying he was very busy. The store was empty. And come to find out, there were none of the breed I had asked about. Since he was soooo busy, he said he would make a quick call to the Westchester facility, but wanted me to know that the cost would be about $3.5K due to the high demand, and didnt want to call if I couldnt afford it. His offer to make a quick call was not to get any additional information (male, female, age)only, to see if they had them. I was very disappointed in the customer service, and will not return to this facility.8/21: Update: The owner thinks its appropriate to call me out as a Karen. I actually gave an honest review, of the exact situation. If the truth hurts, then maybe instead of name calling, you may want to focus more on your customer service. And by the way....I found my kitten at a much better managed facility. Sucks for you Kevin!
Im sorry for the bad reviews but I visited this establishment yesterday and purchased a shiba inu mixed.. I dont understand the bad reviews , from my visit all I got was respect and very helpful staff .. I recommend this place . The staff are Very clean and very educated on their puppies/kittens . And also Ill like to add if u havent been there dont judge the establishment by a review it does not hurt to see for yourself but hey to each its own .. judge from your experience not from someone elses ..
I have been here 4 times already! The staff are all genuine and professional. I have a suspicious feeling that the people writing negative reviews have nothing better to do with themselves, or are clearly short circuited, unstable individuals. This is a great business, but I guess its hard for some people to realize that. What a shame. With that being said, I think you guys rock!
I would give ZERO stars if possible... I did not have a good experience customer service wise & to top it off im looking at other reviews & completely disgusted by the fact that the owner of this business argues with anyone who leaves them a bad review.. Any WISE business owner knows to have good customer service, YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT. i work in a job where actually customers are wrong majority of the time but for the sake of our business we always work with our customers to make a better experience, never argue with them... This business should be closed down solely on the fact that the OWNER doesnt know how to work with customers proffesionally so how could they ever teach their workers how to work with customers. Its not possible therefor this business will always have bad reviews & bad customer service which is a waste . give this business to a person who at least knows how to deal with their customers better ... Jeez.
I wanted to go to this store, but after reading the owners responses to peoples feedback, I am afraid to step into their store!!! They seem pretty aggressive...who knows what could they do to those defenseless puppies when they treat their customers in such a rude manner - the customer is always right
The owner insults everyones spelling but she has made spelling errors in majority of her insults😂 Thats mind boggling. Anyway, Im giving this store one star because they have bad customer service, walked into the store and no one greeted me, and they were very sarcastic. I heard someone in the background whisper I bet this guy cant even afford it,...why because Im black?

2022-01-17Reading such mixed reviews, I was a little hesitant to visit at the beginning but I am glad I did. I had a very positive experience at this place in mid-December of 2021. Store is very clean with a private space to meet your new companion. Freddy was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. I was able to meet several adorable kittens without being rushed or pressured. I felt in love with not one but two of them, and now I have my beautiful girls - Himalayan Bella and blue Persian Luna. Both are healthy and happy. Even when I had to reach out to the owner for a minor matter, they were super responsive and helpful. Luckily, issue resolved by itself.I had an amazing experience throughout the entire process. Prices are high and in-line for what you can expect to pay for a healthy purebred animal. I would highly recommend this place if you are serious and ready for a significant financial commitment.

2022-06-26So just like everyone I always read reviews. I saw some great reviews and some not so good reviews. I decided to give this place a call and email, I am so glad I did. Every time I emailed someone got back to me. When I called they got back to me. They explained the process and sent me photos of the boxers they have available. It was so easy to work with them. The entire staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. Plus my favorite was reading these fake 1 star reviews and how the owner stands up for her business!! Best part of this review we have a new addition to our family!!! Thank you!!!

2022-04-12Hi! I have been looking for a kitten and happened upon this store. The staff has been so polite and helpful with me. They really care about the animals here, even one of the staff purchases animals form the very store himself. Which I found to be such a good sign! Most of the workers at this store have medical degrees of some kind. Most of these reviews are about rude staff or their kitten/puppy getting ill. Heres my thoughts: 1. Buying an animal is very serious, you are commiting to owning a life for the next maybe 12 years, so when a staff member is harder on you than you might be comfortable with that is a good sign they care about the animals in their store and dont want their babies ending up somewhere they shouldnt be. Though I need to add that my experience was completely opposite, I found the staff was absolutely lovely. 2. They have a very generous process for if the animal gets sick. Sadly, its too common that at such a young age these animals may get sick or die, but thats not the stores fault.

2021-09-22I bought Matcha ~3 months ago. He’s been a perfect boy! Supper affectionate and smart. He gets along with other people and dogs. Never showed any sign of aggression and never gave me any trouble. At first I thought 3.7k was very pricey for a puppy, but he definitely worths every penny!

2022-06-21My husband and I had a great experience when we got our Chloe 🫶🏻🥰 Our first dog together… she’s soooo sweet. The girl who helped us asked us questions to see what breed would be good for our lifestyle, and it was the best choice we’ve made. We got to see another breed, BUT… we chose Chloe; a Bichon Havanese, and when we had our meet and greet with her, we felt in love… I knew her name was Chloe because I would dream of having a Chloe bag 😂😅 and since I’m not having it anywhere soon, I figured my dog is my Chloe. She’s going to be 6 this year 🥹😍 We have great things to say about this place. Our experience was so smooth and the process was nice and easy. Thanks guys for my beautiful Chloe! P.S. Also I forgot to mention she’s very healthy, and we never had any trouble with her, and never will… Thank God! 🙌🏻💌

2022-05-27I got my morkie about 4 months ago , over all there service was great with a few minor issues in the beginning like “ kennel cough “ & his ability to be in his new environment …but I texted a number that was given to me & I was offered many options , I decided to keep my pup because I had fallen inlove from the first day . I made his transition a little smoother & it got better fast… I love my puppy cash so much and I wouldn’t trade him for anything in the world … just be prepared to spend $$ & the bad reviews on here are peoples opinions but I experienced the total opposite !! GOODLUCK to anyone trying to find a pet & Thankyou manhatten puppies and kitten for helping me find my budddy ❤️

2022-07-03Reading awful comments I almost hesitated to go but then decided to go. NO REGRETs. The rude comments that people say isn’t true. The store keeper isn’t that rude. The puppies fur was beautiful and were so cute . It is amazing because they even give health warranty and when you buy the puppy, they give you the puppy’s parents name and some other information of the puppy, including the breeder, where they are from, and more. The husky puppies were so cute and when I decided to pick up my puppy later ( deposit ) for like a month, the store let me. I recommend this place. Thank you for my cute puppy.

2022-02-24I have been interested in purchasing a kitten. After looking up places I came across Manhattan puppies & kittens. As always, I read the reviews before stepping foot into the store. I am in absolute shock as to how the owner presents herself via responses. She is extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. I do not know how after reading the reviews and responses anyone would still be interested in purchasing a puppy or kitten from youI think perhaps you should take a class on how to communicate with your clients in a respectful way. It is extremely odd that you as a business owner would respond to reviews (for everyone to see) in such a hateful way. I can only imagine how you treat the animals if you have a personality like that…
