Manor Oktoberfest in other cities:
Went here with family so... we ordered different dishes from their menu. We had their famous oktoberfest Pretzel (a must try! Its really good), Jägerschnitzel (not really satisfied with the taste), Grilled Salmon (a little dry), BBQ Pork Ribs (this is also good), kids Grilled cheese, kids Grilled Chicken (I assume this is good since the kids finished all of it) and for our dessert we had the Apple Streusel Cake (not really a fan of fruit cakes but my family likes it) and... I forgot the other one but it tastes like Dark Chocolate cake (this one I like but way too sweet for 1 person). The place is clean, they have restrooms, function room available, ambiance is a little noisy for babies. The kids were busy doing activities since the staff handed them coloring activity books. But for our little one, she was a little uncomfy... maybe because of the noise. The staff members were accommodating and friendly.
I had a wonderful hearty dinner with my hubby and father-in-law at Manor Octoberfest. We had a tasty chicken liver paté; sauerbraten eggrolls; pork loin stuffed with bacon and apples with a side spaetzel; jagerschnitzel, Octoberfest style, with black forest ham, mushrooms, onions, brown gravy and a side of fried potatoes; and Hungarian schnitzel served with cucumber salad and spaetzel.
A cute little restaurant bar with a nice out door dining. Lovely staff people who are super nice and sweet, however, Im not a big fan of their fish and chips. Their fries are great, no salt and freshly cooked but the fish was too greasy and did not taste that good. I had to peel off the deep fried skin since it was very oily and did not stick to the fish very well. I wouldnt recommend the dish in the restaurant, Id try something else. :(
Held a private function in their back outside covered area. Entire area was well attended by only one very efficient server. The restaurant was very accommodating to our group and look forward to coming back for future meetings. The potato pancake appetizers were delicious. Tried the wienerschnitzel, and wurst platters which were excellent. Recommend the strudel for dessert!
The service was really good and our waitress was very nice and accommodating. The ambiance was very nice and the place was clean. The food although palatable and cooked well was not as good as I would have hoped for the price. My pork chop was tough and rubbery although the German potato salad side dish was not bad, very authentic. I didnt sample the German beer but it looked tasty.
Above average attention to detail, good selection of reasonably obscure beers (in this area).A Reuben sandwich is normally nothing to crow about, but I feel compelled to comment. Last night was my first visit to MO, and the Reuben was my yardstick of choice. Notably, it might have been the best Ive ever had.It was the standard Reuben, except that the quality of the ingredients was outstanding. EVERYTHING seemed prepared with care, down to the pickle. The potato salad was delicious (everything was), and the corned beef had the perfect hint of clove. The price was quite reasonable, which makes me wonder how they keep their food costs under control; my guess is that they make the stuff there to do that.At any rate, the sandwich and the service were outstanding, and the crowd was friendly as well. Ill definitely be back and amend my review as necessary, but I suspect itll stand as written.
Havent been to Manor since the Pandemic Occupation of N.Y. .I enjoyed the service and the meal with my father. The meal was quite filling , & tasty. German Beer was a nice change. We ate inside, took awhile for the meal to arrive worth it, we went at a busy time so expected. The young lady who served up was very nice with a smile. Will obviously repeat
Oktoberfest is a go-to cozy date night for my girlfriend and I. We love nearly everything on the menu and their specials always hit!If Id recommend anything in specific itd definitely be the big pretzel with beer cheese and the burger. Im not a fan of steakhouse style burgers and this is one of the best Ive ever had!Love!
I dont eat German food very often but decided to stop in. I ordered the jägerschnitzel and decided to Oktoberize it which added mushrooms, onions and bacon. The schnitzel was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms and onions went well with it. On the side they provided delicious fried potatoes and cabbage. My girlfriend ordered a bratwurst and polish keilbasa which came with a German potato salad. We were very satisfied with our food. This is somewhere Ill be going again!
I live in the neighborhood and passed by this place many times. I finally gave it a try today with my boyfriend and we were astonished by how great their wurst was. Definitely would recommend to try - beer selection is top notch, portions are great, food is delicious, service is friendly.
Pretty good food and atmosphere was nice. Service was off but Ill chalk that up to lack of people available to work these days. We are planning to go back again soon to try out more dishes. BTW, only place we found Chicken Liver Patte. GF been looking for a long time in Rockland and Westchester area...so we traveled to Queens.
Update: Since I cannot reply to the owner response, I am updating here. Note that I came for a pick up, so there was no 3rd party delivery. The fact the the customer is choosing a 3rd party app does not justify bad quality of food and poor service. The restaurant chose to work with UberEats, and its NOT on the customer. I would expect the owner to take accountability instead of blaming the customer. As for the fries not only were they soggy but also quite tasteless. As for the service, I do not know what is the norm by your standards, but I am speaking based off of the poor experience I received today. Sigh.I was excited to try this place because of the positive reviews. I ordered takeout the fries were soggy and not fresh. The wings however were somewhat okay. They forgot the side sauce as well. When I came for a pickup the hostess upfront was not friendly at all. I don’t think I will be back here again.
Was meaning to stop by here at some point. Ribs are tender and tear off the bone. The knockwurst with potato salad was delicious and filling. Wonderful, friendly staff. And their indoor dining set up put us at ease Great spot to fill up on sausage and knock back a few beers. Will definitely come back!
The only reason why I do not mind giving it a 1 star coz the waitress was very nice but the food was literally the worse Ive ever had! I am German from Germany there for I grew up knowing what German food should taste like and my parents are both chefs and I work in the restaurant industry for years. The beer was a draft beer that felt a little water down, biggest insult to any German is to mess with our beer. 1st I had the onion rings:the oil tastes very old, there for making the onion rings this heavy soggy taste that you only get with old oil. Then I ordered the Jägerschnitzel ( that came with home friese and a side of sour kraut ): that was a true atrocity! Home friese so salty I could not eat them; IDK where they came up with the idea that the sour kraut was sour kraut, coz beside the vegetable was over cook it was RED CABBAGE ( no where in Germany they make sour kraut with red cabbage!) The Jäger sauce (mushroom sauce )that was on the Schnitzel is suppose to be like a creamy grave and it was just a liquidy brown sauce also salty like hell! The side of Späetzle, was beyond insulting, besides they didnt know what Kase Späetzle was , cheese Späetzle that EVERYONE in Germany and Austria (Späetzle are actually originally from Australia, just like Schnitzle ) offers , I ask the waitress if she could ask the kitchen to make it, by just mix in some some cheese in with the Späetzle. Well I was not ready for what I got, a slice of kraft cheese melted most likely in a microwave, not even mixt in, just laid on top; but the even worse part was the actual Späetzle, definitely store bought, which they do sell some good store bought ones, but these where litteraly maccheroni, like lil fusilli , the dough is NOTHING like what Späetzle is supposed to be like aaaand it was under cook.I order a Marzipan cake, which I was pretty sure it would be a store bought one, which at this point I was looking foward to since I literally had no more then 2 bites of everything coz everything was unedible and I was thinking there is no way they can screw up a cake. Boy was I wrong! Marzipan cake is suppose to have Marzipan in side with the dough, with a layer or actual marzipan and cream in the middle and Marzipan on top . Well... this cake had a very dry sponge cake middle, with a chefs cream and fruit jelly center with a swirl of Marzipan on top, a real disappointment.I did paid for my food because I know how hard the food industry was hurt due to covid, but i will most definitely never come back and will tell everyone I know to not bother wasting there money here, specially since it is very expensive and the food quality I would not even feed to my dog
Always The Best of the Wurst. This time, I had the Kielbasa on a Toasted Club Roll with Sauerkraut & Deli-Mustard for a quick after-church brunch, and it was supremely satisfying. Over the years, I have enjoyed many of their menu offerings.Their Early-Bird and Wednesday Hofbräu München Beer Specials appeal to my frugal nature.Currently, they offer both indoor & outdoor dining options, and everything is kept Covid-Safe.The staff is uniformly friendly and helpful.RECOMMENDED ! ! !
Their customer service and food taste impressed me. The waiters are so professional. Besides their service, the foods are also delicious. Popular food items are Sauerbraten, Chicken Liver Pate, Wurst Platter. Fresh and healthy raw materials are used in cooking at this restaurant.
Attended a surprise birthday party here. Food was good (buffet) and wait staff seemed on the ball. This was the first time I was ever here so I feel 3 stars is fair. I definitely would like to go back though so that says something. No parking lot so you have to find something on the street. If you like German food and miss all the good German restaurants that we used to have in Ridgewood/Glendale, then give this place a try.
Parking was easy Sunday night around 5 PM. Check the map. From the restaurant, go north on Yellowstone, make a left on Groton St., and then a left on Selfridge St. Selfridge is a one way street, and heads back directly to the restaurant. Plenty of parking on Selfridge when the restaurant comes back into view.We had a catered affair, self-serve buffet style with multiple hot plates. I remember the salmon was great. Service was constantly around and excellent. When you dont have to worry about the food or service, the only other variable is your routy friends.
The best burger I have eaten in a long time.I went back another time and had the steak which was very very good.My husband had the pull pork and that also was very good. The wait to be seated want that bad on a Sat night since we made reservations.Place looked clean and the waitress was wonderful. The price was ok too.
Delicious high quality fresh food. Ive eaten here double digit times now, NEVER a drop in quality ( food and service). German themed food (they do all their meat/protein and vegetables VERY well) and beer. I drink Spatan beer, it tastes really good and quenches your thirst. Have that with your dinner and you dont need any water. I HATE beer and vegetables, but this place does them both AMAZINGLY well (I clear my plates and mugs of all contents). Staff are always friendly, chef never seems to have an off day. I love this place, worth every penny you spend. One last thing, this place has my #1 best appetizer - pork wings... if you ever come and you are a fan of pork, you NEED to try those.
I make the trip from my neighborhood as often as I can and it’s always worth the ride ! I’ve enjoyed every meal and the staff makes it feel more like visiting a friend’s house for dinner. My family rented the party room and would recommend it without any hesitation to everyone who has need for a venue for their affair. It all comes down to being a high quality establishment with a staff that truly appreciates your business !
One of my favorite local places, particularly because of its owner, Stephanie. Everything about it feels like home. Comfort food in a German package with delicious wursts, and yummy pastrami. In general, all of the meats are great. The restaurant was derived from a German butcher & deli, and the quality shows. There is a large, beautiful room that can be used for private events. There is a nice selection of beers on tap, and an able bar staff. A pile of board games and extra large booths top off the fun in this comfy place.
Ordered onion rings and. Coconut shrimp appetizers the cooking oil was old tasted horri horribl terrible . Bratwurst platter was not good and the Draft Beer (1 pitcher and 1 liter had black bugs ) The fist two glasses had a bug in each the last had 3 . Told the waitress and showed her she said no one else had a problem . Will call the Board of Health . Beware
Really good food. We came here for a birthday and really liked it and then booked it for an event shortly after. The staff is great and they were very helpful in the process of setting up the event. The menu was simple but flavorful and their party room is very cute and intimate with a fireplace that they lit and very nice high ceilings.
Im never disappointed at this restaurant. Food is very tasty, service is great. I always get the Wienerschnitzel with mash and veggies and it just hits the spot every time. I always get a table right away. In the spring and summer time they open the window/doors for a nice breeze coming in and you can sit in the outside area which is really nice.
Love it. Great atmosphere for friends night out, and very welcoming to families. Staff and owners know how to make their customers feel like guests. Good ownership attracts good people, my daughter and I have come across a great number of friendly folks. Probably the best spot I know.
Gnarly party location with a cool back room. The food was delicious and buffet style when I went. Im not sure on menu ordering, but when I was there for a party we got to take left over food home in doggy bags. Which is good for me because extra food and good for lowering food waste.
Its always a good time here. Wow I must say that this food was 10x better than I could ever imagine, I never really had authentic German food and I am impressed. The sausages were flavorful yet not salty, the potato salad was amazing, I didnt get to dine in here but its a place that Ill definitely visit again
I had my 30th Birthday here this last Saturday. My wife and I shopped around quite a bit and decided to go with Manor Oktoberfest once we saw their back party room. Spacious, clean, and with a working fireplace. The overall cost was comparable if not less than other locations in the area, with Manor Oktoberfest being the clear winner in regards to quality.
Flavorful, well portioned food appetizer to dessert. The space is very attractive, airy and comfortable, great atmosphere with awesome details like HB mug wall sconces, art deco details, well lit and suitable for casual conversation. The bar is separate from the dining room.
Fantastic food (even the side dishes are delicious) and drink (Black beer is my favorite), very good service. We were there 3 times in 2 weeks, we also ordered pigs wings for party and everyone loved them. We were plan to order pigs knuckle (the famous German food) for party, the owner suggested the pigs knuckle wont taste the same after reheating, but pigs wings and sauerkraut will be more suitable. He was definitely correct.2020-11-04Today my husband and I got to this German restaurant again. Today we can set inside now. They checked our temperatures and we also put down our names and address before sitting. We are happy to do so, this action made us feel much safer.I finally had my favorite food crispy pigs knuckle, they didnt serve this dish since beginning of the year when Virus began. The food is so good, even better than before, I also ordered the German black beer as usual. My husband like his food, but I dont remember the name. Really recommend this Restaurant, you will regret if you dont try.
At the first moment you arrive in this place team give you an agreeable feeling. Very warm stuff, it is a happy place to enjoy with your friends or with your date. Excellent food, professional chief cook and stuff, modest cost and attentive service. Highly recommended.
We arrived at this spot for lunch. we heard about this place from many people. Well, we were not disappointed. the staff members were so friendly and we felt good. The food was just great. We loved this place very much and we will visit this place again. Warmly recommended.
This restaurant is a German beer garden tucked away in a corner of a Queens neighborhood.parking on the side streets was acceptable, and the restaurant is well stocked with German beer and local beer, and liquors. The bar area is comfortable as well as the dining area. I was there for a baby shower, and the back room was spacious and inviting. The buffet was better than average food, but the hors doeuvres, the friendly staff, and the atmosphere make this a wonderful venue for a nice meal or an event.
Great selection of German beers andCzech beers. The potato Pierogies were pretty good. I’ve also been to their second small location in Atlas park.they have great beers and hospitality there also. I went back again yesterday on St Patricks day. I had A stein and that’s all I remember. I’m becoming a regular here be location on coopers.
I took my family to diner and kareoke Friday night. This was our first time at this restaurant. The place was loud and busy. Despite of them being busy the service was fast and excellent. The food was delicious. I had the best steak ever. I highly recommend this restaurant. Its a little pricy but worth every penny. Recommendation: Must visit.
The service is usually very good as well as the food. Your best bet is to attend the special events for a good value otherwise it can get expensive. And I never understood why a German restaurant only has loin of pork on the menu twice a week. Other restaurants have it every day.
We went on Father’s Day today. Walked in and loved the atmosphere for a first impression! However, my wife, baby , and I were left standing at entrance while the greeter didn’t even look up and acknowledge us (a blonde haired lady with ponytail around lunch time). A poor girl who was busy in the back of the restaurant had to run up and try to seat us. Unfortunately we could not get a seat because of the stroller (not faulting them for this because we didn’t want to take up table space) and left even though it was not super busy yet. We would have loved to come back at another time, but the encounter, or lack thereof, upon entering really threw us off. We wanted to love this place.
Always a great neighborhood go to...Prices are reasonable and food portions are filling... Pretzel and wings are filling appetizers for 4 ... I couldnt even order an entree after having the appetizers..Service is always courteous and prompt...There is a small wait but the bar is comfy to wait at...If you like German fare - this is great casual place to stop by and have a brew with some good grub!
Manor never disappoints. I will say that I am a pescatarian, but I go there often with my husband & he loves their entire menu. The potato pancakes are delicious, the coconut shrimp is spot on, the Caesar salad with grilled tuna is always great. My husband raves about the chicken liver pate & the spaetzle (which I used to eat before I stopped eating red meat- the gravy is meat based, but I loved it back in the day). Beer selection is great and the desserts are tasty. The service is always spot-on. Definitely recommend!
I love Oktoberfest. HUGE portions at a great price and the restaurant is gorgeous. Yes, they run on a skeleton staff, but that has NEVER been a problem, even on the many nights when they are packed. the food and staff are fantastic. GREAT addition to Forest Hills and all of Queens.
Came across this neighborhood bar while walking up Yellowstone to Metropolitan. Authentic German beer hall right in Queens. Wide selection of German beers. Excellent happy hour options and Wednesday lower price beer offerings. Fun board games available, played scrabble with my wife.
The atmosphere is quite nice. I went for lunch and was excited to get the sauerbraten. It was just ok. The meat was tender, but it was coated in the sauce, which was more sweet than tangy. The red cabbage was good. It had a touch of cinnamon to the taste. The spaetzle seemed to be more like thick pasta than traditional spaetzle. Overall, Id go back to try something else.
Careful the ghost of Eric from PJs Steakhouse haunts the buildingIf the building gets really quiet at night or even during the day you can faintly hear Eric munching on Popcorn with his mouth wide open, and then hear the words Pathetic Joke whispered in your ear.0/10 experienceIm shookith
Made a reservation on the spot and they took us in right away. The place was full and both Yankees and Mets were playing on the screens. Came here with my buddies for the bacon. It is so damn good. We tend to fight for the last pieces. Our server, Joanna, was a delight. She always has a smile on her face, and it is welcoming and makes you want to order more. She also leaves you alone to enjoy your food. She has a good pace to check in on the table. I felt bad...there are 2 girls running the tables and they work really hard and still manage to keep a smile. I praise them for how hard they work. We order quite a few things. Including bacon...crab cakes, perogies, flank steak, 2 types of weiner schnitzel. All were good. We also ordered quite a bit of beer. My 2 buddies ordered the Boot which holds 2 liters of beer. Its only Sheffenhofer so it only has 2.5% alcohol. The NBA playoffs came on and we stayed for majority of the game. Besides us having a good time, I can say Joanna was really nice and took good care of us. She is very thoughtful of what is good to order as well. She is a good reason to return to Oktoberfest.
Its definitely Manor Oktoberfest. Walzwerk is a small homey restaurant serving up fresh East Manor Oktoberfest comfort food. I loved my borcht soup and the warm walnut bread was yummy too. The beer on tap was tasty. I look forward to returning soon and trying the other dishes.
Its a bar that serves fake German food . Lazy presentations ruin good intentions. Saurbraten egg rolls? Whats next, wurst won tons. Not sure what the appeal is unless youre boozing it up at the bar first. The presentation is less authentic German than Sbarros is to Italian. If a careless plate doesnt mean anything to you, go for it. I hope you like your German potato salad mashed
I found the decor to be on par with the likes of Houlihans, Jackson Hole, TGI Fridays, and the 99 restaurant chain. The waitress we had was attentive and prompt. This being a German restaurant, the decor could reflect the rustic/bare bones nature of the cuisine better. A vintage and old world feel, as well as some 1500s German garb for the wait staff would complete the experience. I found parking easily, came with 3 others (that liked what they ordered), and I am still full 1.5 hrs later.
Really GREAT German(ish) food. Friendly, efficient staff. A very welcoming . . . .warm-N-fuzzy . . . dining experience. A place we go to get comfort food in a comfortable, pub-ish atmosphere. When we want to chill out, and indulge our {tired & burned-out-from-over-work} selves, on a Friday night, we OFTEN go here. Its a 25 minutes drive {each way} for us from Bayside, but well worth the travel time! BTW - If you dont like KIDS, dont eat here! If youre OK with kids, families, etc. - I/we HIGHLY recommend this place! MJ. Bayside, NY.

2021-12-30The staff was very accommodating and attentive. Upon arrival for my pickup order, the hostess was very welcoming and greeted us the moment we entered. The bartender was very personable and efficient. Great price for the quantity of food. Pierogis were somewhat underwhelming, but potato pancakes, Jägerschnitzel, red cabbage, Wurst Platter and two apple strudels were delicious! The feast fed four comfortably. Everything will definitely taste even better when dining in.

2021-06-21First time at this place to try German food We order 3 different plates. 1-Eggrolls was very crispy and served with apple sauce. Was pretty good 2- Hungarian Schnitzel, pork was super soft and tender but the outside nice and crispy & tasty and served with a great sauce, spaetzel and cucumber salad.Waitress was very nice and attentive .Place was crowded and tables separated by 2 partitions to protect the customers. Bathroom was very clean. Like the fact is totally enclosed and individual. Portions are big ,but then again ,is $22 to $26 a plate and drinks are also expensive. 3 DINNER PLATES ,3 DRINKS,1 APETIZER $169.00.

2021-06-28The food here is traditional German food they have all the side dishes to go with all your favorite dishes from bratwurst to huge pretzels with beer cheese you cant miss... They have outside seating as well to eat or if you are just interested in a few drinks with friends they have an outside rail to sit a drink as well....If ya like German food this place is a must 😉
