First time seeing this vet. They did a wonderful job treating my fur baby, trimmed nails, gave rabies shot all while Leo was calm, comfortable with their handling. Would take my pets there again. Only thing they didnt do is put jar of treats on floor so Leo could eat them all!
Recently started taking our 16 week rescue to them and they have been amazing answering my questions, responding to messages and didn’t have to wait at all when we got there. Nurses were excellent. Doctor took time to answer all my first time pet owner questions. Worth every penny!
I have a senior dog and would not change vets at this point but would not come back with future pets. Takes weeks to get in for an appointment so I asked if I could bring in a urine sample for testing. A day and a half later, I still have not received a call with the results. I did like the vet we saw the last couple times we were in but overall, the service and care here is lacking.
We had been at this Veterinary Clinic for a few years, since it opened. In the beginning this clinic was great, the vets were very attentive and office staff was wonderful. However, now it is run horribly and you have no consistency in veterinary care. This office almost killed our pet recently because of the lack of continuity of care and attention to detail. We were bounced around to multiple vets within the clinic and in the end they told us they couldnt help us. This was after they prescribed the incorrect medication to our pet that worsened her condition. Was a good clinic but now you should stay away if you love your pet.
I have owned animals for over 40 years and recently had to take my sons pet to Marcy because he was on vacation. The worst veterinary experience I have ever had in my entire life!! They completely dropped the ball on the pets diagnosis by not performing a few simple common blood tests that would have diagnosed the problem earlier. My visit was the second visit in the same week for the same problems!! Instead we ended up in Syracuse hours later for something that could have been easily done there at their facility!! Even the doctor in Syracuse kept asking me why they didnt send our pets medical record and blood test results and why they never performed the proper tests there to rule out what was causing the illness so I guess Im not the only one that felt this way. And to top it off when I called them to tell them about our pets experience in Syracuse and asked why they didnt perform these simple tests, well they ended up hanging up on me!!!!! I am writing this because I want people to be aware of the incompetence of the staff at this facility and that I dont want another person to have to experience what we did!
Marcy use to be an amazing bet up until this last year. The last several visits there have been terrible. My dog requires medication that needs a prescription and when we went to get it this last time they were completely out, they had no idea when they were getting more in, and then refused to write a script until later in the day. Then they “forgot” to write the script so we have to wait another day AND order it online which could take a week to get. Meanwhile my dog is suffering from incontinence and can’t control her bladder. We called around to other vets and Marcy is able to buy medication from other vets but won’t. We are switching vets ASAP. We have 4 animals with Marcy currently and if they can’t sell you on something they don’t want to help you.
One star, because I cant give it 0. A while back I had written that you wont regret taking your pet here. Well, I was wrong. Recently my dog had been diagnosed with Lymes disease. Not only was I not told until I called about a random bill that came in the mail for her spaying (which was done 6 months before and paid for), they also needed a pee sample. Okay, did that of course. I was told the treatment would be free, yet they still tried making me pay for it. After about 10 minutes of waiting in my car, they finally gave me the medicine free of charge. Its usually impossible to get them on the phone. They are never on time and I have spent 20 or so minutes in my car waiting for someone to even acknowledge me. I have stood in the freezing cold waiting for a response from inside. They are nice enough, but I will not be taking my dog here anymore.
We currently have 2 dogs and recently decided to drop our regular vet and go with Marcy Vet.We had 3 and recently had the difficult time of having to put one of our dogs down. We knew it was time, and the doctor at Marcy Vet confirmed it after months of assisting to help keep our dog comfortable in his decline. The doctors and the staff were so respectful and compassionate it was an easy decision to bring our other 2 exclusively to Marcy. We are from Rome and have MANY closer options, but as far as I am concerned, these folks are top notch.I simply cannot say enough good things about them!
My Bluetick hound had something caught in her throat. She needed care ASAP! My long time vet couldnt seem to accommodate my need. Putting it mildly they blew me off. No seance of urgency at all!Called several vets all with the same attitudes if not worse...I contacted Marcy Vet Clinic they DID get Me in ASAP with no reservation! They were KIND,POLITE, and VERY CONCERNED about my hound. Everyone there was a Champ! They spoke to you in a very nice manner .They were very informative about the care needed to get my hounds health back on the right track. This IS the place that I will be bringing my animals from now on. This is the Place to go.
Absolute worst customer service I’ve ever experienced from their reception staff. Played phone tag w my dog’s surgeon the last THREE WEEKS since he only works 3 days a week (and they REFUSED multiple times on separate occasions w different questions to let me speak w anyone else other than the DR. who performed the surgery, even for basic care concerns and vet should be qualified to answer w discretion) and the receptionist refused to pass along simple info about my availability to receive a call back. This resulted in multiple missed calls during times I clearly communicated I could not be contacted. So my simple questions turned to panic and need for emergency visit as my dog starting urinating blood, which was met w the same flippant, unresponsive attitude of “the dr. will call you back when he’s in next week” and “no appointments for the next four weeks sorry”.Absolutely repugnant staff. I didn’t mind their expensive prices at first since the care seemed quality from the actual veterinarians (techs and receptionists were snarky and uneducated from the beginning) but as soon as you become an inconvenience or need care at an unscheduled time it’s too damn bad apparently.
This is our routine vet for our Golden Retriever and Lab. We love them for routine care. Today they outdid themselves. Our Golden was getting groomed when she started urinating blood. The groomer immediately called us and stopped service. I called Marcy Vet Clinic and they were very accommodating to get us in today, last minute and give quality care. So thankful!
Just established our dog Baxter as a new patient during this Covid time. The veterinarian Dr K. was very thorough and answered all my questions and concerns. I am glad that we are now using this vet. Got Baxter tested for heartworm and Lyme and got the corresponding meds
Every visit that Rosie has made to Marcy Veterinary Clinic has been excellent! I feel I can rely on the veterinarians there to take good care of her. Every one of them has been knowledgable and thorough.I want to add that everyone working at the clinic has been very courteous and pleasant as well. Very considerate, and that is greatly appreciated.
Terrible customer service. Tried to get rx for heartworm to purchase through chewy.com. was told vet pharmacy stopped faxing to chew.com a year ago. Would have to pick up copy to fax myself. Vet wants $57 for six doses can get for $38 through chewy. However, through further investigation saw that on vets own website the online pharmacy had it for $36. Nothing was mentioned during phone conversation. Ordered through online pharmacy..Will see if that is accepted.
Really disgusted, was denied my appointment for being 5 minutes late. Not to mention I called in advance to let the clinic know I was running late (courtesy call). Little do they know I own 8 dogs and couldve been a great lucrative client.Very rude front desk lady. When leaving the parking lot I noticed the staff and customers turned around watching me exit. As if I was the topic of conversation. Could be wrong but I feel race was the reason for my poor service.
Nice people and good care. Very loving to my pets that we bring in! Very informative about important things and aren’t afraid to have questions asked for you to know! Love this place! Little kids area for kids to draw while the parents sit down and wait for their pets. No rude people that I’ve had :) Recommended for sure
Called to have my grandmothers 20 year old peek-a-poo who has had crippling seizures humanly put down and these people talk about not accepting new patients! Guess they want dogs to suffer! This dog has not eaten or drank in days because she is so far out of it from seizures. Sorry that her original vet is out of business but have a heart and let a suffering dog be put out of its pain! I would not reccomend this place.
Would give 0 stars if I could. I brought my cat here because he had some bump on his cheek. Gradually, it got a little bigger and they said it was a tooth that was causing it and insisted on surgery. I went through with it, and they prescribed antibiotics as well. 2 weeks goes by, the lump comes back. They prescribe antibiotics again and again. It took the swelling down a bit but the bump just kept coming back and they didn’t know what it was. So I took him to another vet in Beaver Meadows and all they did was examine him and they told me he had bone cancer. And now he’s suffering so bad since it’s been so long. They suggested I put him down. It was a huge waste of time to bring him to marcy when they just kept prescribing useless things.
Ginger & Spyder, our beloved 3-yr.-old kittens, had their yearly physical at Marcy Veterinary Clinic w/ Dr. Ram. This was their first time seeing him, so they were naturally skittish at first, but he eventually had them eating out of his hand with gentleness and kindnespaw prints. He has a soft-spoken manner about him that seems to put the girls right at ease. The practice is VERY clean and odor free, along with being quite bright. You look up and see paw prints embedded into the ceiling tiles. The staff are very friendly, too, and there was virtually no wait time for us. We really like this practice!
I recently went there with my dog Jake, he was having blood in his stool and so they tested his stool finding he had an infection in his GI and gave him medication(which didnt help at all). Their main concern was his itchy skin, so they had me try a new drug called CYTOPOINT® . Well I kept asking dr christine does it have side effects, her answer was no, its super safe. Well fast forward to the weekend still bloody stool. Almost at 1100 with his bill for two visits, coming Monday I finally brought him back in cause still stool is bloody, took xrays, said his prostate was enlarged, so their options are to neuter this ten year old dog. After the surgery the following friday at almost 1900 for our 3rd visit. Now when you know your dog is super happy all the time to not wanting to do anything. So that sunday took him for an emergency visit and had more xrays done, his organs were all enlarge. Basically for the doctors to tell me get an second opinion on him and they cant him here anymore. Which turned my world upside down. So out to Syracuse VMC we go for more answers and more test. He was getting tired of it. His body couldnt handle all the stress. So they did confirm he had lymphoma cancer. And he get us one more week of happiness. But for marcy vet to not know what they are doing is downgrading all the people who actually help out. And if they mention cytopoint® run the other direction. That medication can cause harm to your dog. Always always do your research please.
The WORST. Absolute worst. So bad that I am taking the time to write this review right now.. ****EDIT**** The vets office called around 30 min after I posted this. They saw this review and refused to let me pick up the RX for my sick dog. So now we know 2 things: 1.) Marcy Vet Clinic staff does ZERO work. They stalk Google mentions, ready to STRIKE back @ any1 that leaves them a negative review wahh :( 2.) Marcy Vet Clinic is unethical. They punish animals to get back at humans who complain about the service. What else are they capable of?
Staff was nice, but I Went a few months ago to get my cats mass on his mouth checked out, said it was calcium buildup.. Turns out he has mouth cancer and its too far now to get him help.. Took him to Paris hill where they actually know what they are doing. Pay the extra however much it may be. You get what you pay for.
If I could make zero stars I would. Have been with this vet for around three years and nothing but problems the whole time. Paid over $2000 last year to get my beloved dog surgery that was promised to fix him had to put down with in the week. Continued service with my other dog giving them the benefit of the doubt and has been a nightmare every time. Refused to give my dog the same medicine over and over with out a five min visit to just get money and let the dog suffer for over a month due to negligent appointment issueS. Then just called and told me they could no longer see us they were not concerned with dogs well being because my wife left a negative google review about the appointment mishaps. More concerned with google reviews then pets well beings. Beg anyone who cares about their animals to find a different vet.
Called to make an appointment today for our bull dog Fiona...She had a rash on her face that was spreading and we wanted it looked at. My wife calls me and said she made the appointment but whomever is on for a receptionist was extremely rude. Our Mastiff had been here before and that went fine. So instead of driving 30 mins to another vet I had told my wife to call Marcy for an appointment. But when the first words out of the receptionists mouth are why dont you bring her to the regular vet ( along with a few other comments I wont get into) well right there was the red flag...I called her regular vet and they were able to see her at our convenience..If this is the service and care on the front end. I would hate to see what the backside was like. Needless to say none of our animals will be going back. Ill take the 30 min drive....
Not up front about cost. They tell you to come back for a booster shot and do not mention anything about it not being included in all the money dished out from the first visit. The initial cost is more than it is for an office visit for your own human physician. Also, you do not see the same vet each time. I will not be returning.

2022-07-02Love this place! Its bright, open and welcoming. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and as an added bonus they dont pressure you into unnecessary treatments or expenses. They also stand by their work.. I have a bulldog who needed cherry eye surgery, I was told there was a chance it might not always hold. My dog required another surgery and they performed it free of charge (minus required drugs). Good vet and in a convenient location..

2022-02-06Very friendly staff! They do everything they can to make your pet as comfortable as possible! They provide them with treats to calm them and earn their trust. I was in and out of the appointment very quickly. Highly recommend this veterinary office!

2022-05-20I brought my 12 year old Lab Tara in to have a VERY LARGE tumor on her chest evaluated (my regular vet wasnt comfortable trying to remove it because he was worried about how vascular it probably was) & Dr. Marcus (who is VERY knowledgeable) made an appt the very next day for surgery. He was able to remove almost all of it; the stalk/core is wrapped around her jugular & removing it would cause more problems than just leaving it; and she is doing VERY well 3 days after surgery!!! I would HIGHLY recommend this clinic; the staff was also very knowledgeable, helpful & pleasant to deal with. I couldnt be happier that I tried Dr. Marcus (a local vet) to do the surgery so that I did not have to travel to Syracuse. He came HIGHLY recommended by my sister who used to work with him in another clinic. Thank you for saving my baby!!!!

2022-03-15I wouldnt bring a pet here if it was the last place on earth. They literally dont care about your pet (just the money) They misdiagnosed my cat not once but twice. Said she had ear mites charged me for that, the cat went back in a week later with be diagnosed with a yeast infection. Asked for assistance with allergies confused my cat as a DOG, even after I emailed pictures of my cat. Our dog was also treated there, and we heard nothing from them for over a month and found out he had a UTI!!!! The only reason we found out was that we called to follow up about possible Lyme disease!!! Kim is the rudest person Ive ever spoken with. Zero compassion, rude and talks down to you even though shes well aware it is their fault. They cant keep a vet there to save their lives. HUGE LACK OF COMMUNICATION! Very unprofessional. EMAIL, APP, TEXT MESSAGE from office are absolutely pointless as well as everyone who works there. They charged my account UNauthorized out of sheer SPITE. Never gave permission to keep my card on file

2022-04-04Went there 4 xs bc my dog has skin issues , itching and redness . First shots , second shots 3rd and 4th time pills nothing the vet did was effective . Pressed for a diagnosis as not one given at any appt . Was told bc he’s old .😳. Told to give weekly baths w antiseptic shampoo and put him on prednisone . Concerned w the dosage as I know it can cause problems w the adrenal glands , kidneys etc . When expressed my concerns the vet totally ignored me and refused to address my concerns . My dog gets extremely stressed at the vets and always has accidents at least twice while there . The girl at the desk gave me a sample size antibacterial shampoo . When paying my bill my old boy had loose stools and I quickly just paid the bill and left without reviewing it . My mistake . Upon reviewing the bill when I arrived home I was charged a sick fee , 32$ for the shampoo and a $1500 estimate for dental work ! 😳 I called the vet and asked why I was charged a sick fee when he has been seen 4 times for a chronic condition w no “sick” diagnosis , why didn’t they tell me I had to pay for the shampoo as it’s so small I assumed it was a sample and an estimate for dental care when the vet NEVER LOOKED IN HIS MOUTH !?!?!! I was told that bc my dog wouldn’t let him open his mouth he’s assuming he needs dental work!!!! So needless to say no diagnosis no effective treatment shady way to add to bill !!!! I am very disappointed and disgusted with this vet . I heard they were bought out by a chain / corporation . I feel they could have cared less about treating my dog effectively and their goal is to get as much money out of the pet owners as possible !!!! It sickens me !!! I hope you think twice about bringing your pet there !!!!!

2022-01-07Asked to have my dogs nails trimmed. They didn’t even tell me it would be $30. I wouldn’t have done it. Also didn’t even trim my dogs nails. Said they couldn’t go any shorter. Would not recommend.

2021-11-19This is the definition of the most unprofessional vet and or business I have ever seen from the inconsistency of pricing disrespectful manager all the way to charging a family members card without permission. I would not recommend them once so ever. On top of taking 24 hrs to call back to get a 8 week old puppy in for an emergency visit.
