I love this place. The food and drinks are great and the service is awesome. Every time I come here is a pleasure. I can’t understand how anyone could leave anything less than 5 stars. If I could give more, I would. Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed!

Be careful what you order. The prices are not listed on the menu. So call special for 2 people was $90 bucks plus two margaritas, one guacamole and refried beans came to a total of $145. Last time we dined here was last year and our total was $65 and we ordered pretty much the same. I guess the new owners are desperate to get rich ASAP. Liked it better when it was Don Juan Restaurant. Never going back. Way overpriced

Very enjoyable place to eat. My go-to is the burrito mojado and their fresh-made guacamole. Had an odd experience a while back where a delivery from doordash was incorrect. Interestingly enough, apparently doordash had filled the order via a Margaritas in another town (without telling me), so the manager here didnt know about it or have any records when I went in. However despite the error being from a different Margaritas, they still made it right. Would definitely go back again

The food was delicious. We stopped by on our way home and enjoyed a nice lunch outside. Being the designated driver, I enjoyed a non alcoholic Pina Colada that was DELICIOUS.
We had lunch, yesterday, at Margaritas Cafe and really enjoyed it. They gave us complimentary chips and salsa...which is always nice. My 2 friends ordered fajitas and I ordered a combo and we ordered a pitcher of Mango Magaritas. All very good! Nice ambience and great service. Ephraim, our waiter, was very polite and attentive. We will definitely go back.

Went to this location last night , the wife and I have been here numerous times and was always good .We have not been here in a while and can only say things have changes for the worst ,Drinks were watered down to the extent I had to return it while table next to me had the same issue .Nachos we terrible nothing but a dozen chips with no meat although I paid for it but enough cheese to pay 3 salaries . HorribleWe ordered our main course and it came out it record time literally 5 mins as though they had it sitting on a rack and that’s how it tasted , food was substandard Taco Bell is better than this joint at this time .Don’t know what happened but it needs to be fixed .
I use to love this place! They told me they had a special for two people! They didnt tell me it was $90!!!! It was rice, steak, maduros! $90 for that....We paid ! $145 at the end for 2 people! The service is good but this place is getting expensive. Im not coming back.
Ive been going here since its been Don Juans. When they took over it was great for years. Lately it has been slowly going down hill. We Supported them during Covid. Tonights dinner was so bad I wish I took a right and went to Taco Bell. I could have had 10 better dinners for me and my family and still saved money. Food was awful, portions were tiny and almost non existent. My Quesadilla was void of cheese. None of our 4 dinners had any meat. Even the table spoon of lettuce and rice in the meals wasnt enough to feed a rabbit. If I could give them a minus star I would. So sad. Long Beach needs another Mexican Restaurant. I will never waist my money there again. Cant even post a no star.

We had it delivered the rice was hard there was 3 pices of stake in out tocos. We paid 2 dollars extra for chicken but who know what it was. Also we ordered a 7$ flan and it tasted like sour milk. I never leave a reviews but for 35$ I expected something better then that. My family of four could of all ate at toco bell for two night and would be way happier. Definitely not going again. Disappointed beyond belief.

The place is cute, food is good and the servers are great... BUT their little toad thats the manager Joel I think is his name is a thief and so incredibly rude and mean to the staff (in front of us customers)! He made a server cry!! WTH is wrong with the owners of this place putting someone like him in charge... And to top it off we watched him take money from the bill/ ticket book on another table, which holds the tips for the servers and put it in his pocket!!! WAKE UP OWNERS BEFORE THIS LOCATION CLOSES FROM THE ACTIONS OF 1 PERSON!!!!!
I literally just got my order off of Uber Eats. I eat anything shrimp so I decided to give the shrimp in green sauce a try and never have I ever gagged so quickly. I don’t maybe it’s just me but the green salsa was not at all what I expected. Also the quantity and size of shrimp was disappointing for the price of $17. I decided to throw out the shrimp because even the shrimp just felt gross. It came with rice and beans and it already was not looking appetizing. Rice was hard and the beans tasted old. I am a Latina and I grew up eating all kinds of rice and beans and this was the worst I have had. I gave this a two star solely because of the nachos and guacamole. The only thing I can eat from everything I ordered.
This was my first time at Margaritas Cafe, the restaurant wasnt busy and it will be my last time. My order did not come out until 15 after my wife had already finished her meal. I asked to see a manger and was told he would come to my table in 5 minutes. He never showed. I saw him at the check out, he acted like he didnt get the message and said he said he was in the back. The waiter blamed the cook. Everyone blamed someone else. Bottom line: none of them cared about the customer. Would not recommend.
We enjoyed the drinks, alot. I enjoyed the food but my wife didnt. For argument sake ( cause I dont feel like arguing) well say a 3.5 out of 5. Me a 4.

We went for Taco Tuesday. The margaritas were good. I had a frozen one. They come in different configurations. The tacos were delicious, we each had two shrimp tacos. Super reasonably priced and enjoyable Mexican themed setting. The staff was very obliging and courteous. Well be going back for another late taco lunch.

Calamari were really bad..overfroed and tasted old..bartender was really nice. Food was ok..1tr drinks were good and 2nd had a funny taste in 1..wont be going back here. No one to sit us so we just sat at the bar.

The manager and staff are always attentative and make you feel like a part of their family. I have recommended the Long beach location to many of my friends and they all leave impressed. So much so that they travel from Queens to enjoy the experience

Terrible experience waited hour 20 minutes for food and when it got brought up to the owners attention we got an attitude by him!! The place was understaffed and the employees were apologizing for the owner being rude…. The manager was working so hard covering for everyone from bussing to cooking etc. hats off to him. Unfortunately he works for an awful owner that’s an absolute disgrace. I feel bad for the good people that work there and the kind gentleman that apologized to me for the inconvenience. I’ve never written a review like this but the experience was so bad it had to be said.
This place was AMAZING! So good that I’m writing the review as I am sitting at the table still. The food was delicious and very flavorful. I had the samon and it was cooked to perfection. Not to mention the drinks. Highly recommend the strawberry daiquiri & to finish the night the flan is to die for. I don’t normally do this but this place was soo good I had to leave a review! The people were so nice and pleasant and everything was so fast too! Highly highly recommend!

Maybe we went on an off day, but the food was awful. My taco salad had bits of lettuce (or something else) that was frozen. The ceviche was made with ketchup I think. Maybe some people like that, but I prefer it simple with lemon, cilantro, etc. According to my husband the red sangra wasn’t good. The waiter was just about ok. No emotion, no nothing - Not particularly nice. The red umbrellas that line the front of the restaurant caught our eyes, but never again.
Wish I could put 0 stars. Ordered delivery online tonight. 2 hours later still waiting for food. They took so long the dasher didn’t want to wait and left. turned into a night on phone with DoorDash. Never again from margaritas.
This Restaurant is the worse at keeping people’s reservations. I called a day ahead to make reservations and spoke with JOEL. He confirmed he can accommodate us. We made reservations today for 8:00pm so we can celebrate a birthday.Well, since we arrived 5 minutes early and parked outside. I decided to call to let them know I arrived so we can know whether we should head inside or wait in the car. A gentleman picked up (not sure of his name) and he said “we are ready for you, yes, you can come in!” We went in! Low and behold we notice that the tables that were reserved for us was given to another party that walked in a couple minutes prior to us coming in. THEY GAVE OUR TABLE AWAY! Here we are with our party to celebrate a special day, we walk in and JOEL gives us the run around. He basically kicked us out and said “we will call you in 25 minutes when the table is ready”, and walks away. You can clearly see they all messed up. It’s 10:02, we never got the call. :/This restaurant isn’t reliable. If you make reservations...good luck on rolling the dice. Don’t book if it’s a special occasion...you won’t know if you will get seated on time or they won’t call you at all if your table will ever be ready. Rude. If you messed up-let me know-no worries but don’t try to cover it up AND THEN add insult to injury and sweep us under the rug and try to hope we go away and no one will notice. This can happen to you-party of 2 or party of 15...don’t take the chance. Thanks JOEL for being dishonest and not owning up to your mistake.
Excellent service and the aguacates rellenos were to die for. joel and sophie and the rest of the staff did a killer job and the music was a great mix of country jazz and LATIN!
We were visiting NY and decided to try this Margaritas cafe out. I am a big Mexican food fan but was not impressed. Food tasted like straight salt and had no seasoning or flavor. Also the waiter told us about a special so we ordered it. Bad choice, it tasted like salt as well and when we got the check we saw the special was 45 dollars. If you are seeking authentic Mexican cuisine eat elsewhere. The only pro was that staff was very friendly.
An excellent place for getting together with friends. Lots of Mexican food choices from their extensive menu. Very clean and waiters are attentive. There is also a 3-person band going to each table for a mood-enhancing serenade. There’s no rush to leave and the colorful drinks are fun to imbibe. The prices are reasonable and returnably inviting.
Our third time here, and it is a very good restaurant. Not the most authentic Mexican, but very good food in general. Empanadas were delish, as was the shrimp cocktail. We ate at the bar, which we usually do. Service was excellent, as were the drinks.
Order from them only if you like eating at 10:00 pm at night. The manager suggested that it was the delivery service who was at fault. The delivery service left warm food in the lobby at nearly 10: 00 pm at night.Had a terrible experience. So far it has been 2 hours and have not received food. Strongly suggest not ordering from them. Too many other competent restaurants to order from.
I saw some of the mediocre reviews but we decided to still give this restaurant a shot. We came here on a Saturday when it was very busy. They had a live band, the music was great and the ambiance was beautiful. We had the guacamole which was off the hook! Our entrees were also great. I would hate anyone not coming here to experience this for themselves. We are definitely coming back!
I was looking for a good Mexican restaurant for my kids and I so we found Margaritas Cafe. I thought the food was good and the staff was excellent! The atmosphere is amazing as well. Im from Texas so I grew up eating Mexican food and know real good authentic Mexican food when I taste it. One thing I must add is about the salsa. The salsa was awesome!!! I had to bring some home. Margaritas Cafe will be the closet thing to home for me right now. So in all it was a good experience. I definitely recommend!
Which I could give 10 stars!!! Best Guacamole, tacos and Margaritas!!! It gets packed so you may have to wait a little for a table (which me and my friends didnt mind at all) the place was really nice and had lived music. Host was really nice, me and my friends went to the bar while we waited for our table. Bar tenders were superb and they made sure our Margaritas were at perfection. I love that they have so many flavors to pick from. Their menu is very big which was great. I got the steak tacos and a side of guacamole! Highly recommended
This was my first time at this new Mexican restaurant this past weekend. There were four of us for dinner and we all came away astounded at the entire experience. The food was plentiful, delicious, and beautifully served. The sangria was also very tasty. Our server, was polite, and knowledgeable and our food arrived timely. If all this were not enough to make a perfect meal, the bill was exceedingly reasonable.We cant wait to return to for dinner to this to Margaritas A greatand pretty addition to the cuisine scene in Long Beach.
Such a great place! The taco place Long Beach needed. The music is fun, great margaritas, food and service. Your water glass will never be empty and all of the employees are lovely. Highly recommend the tortilla soup- they are generous with the avocado and it’s delicious!

The staff was pretty great but the tacos are subpar. Can’t really lie, I imagine the reviews are good at this place because people get distracted by margaritas.. other than that, I was really looking for a good taco place and this did not deliver. Grilled chicken tacos, how could you mess that up? However, the waitstaff was very polite and awesome!!!
Horrible never again, i gave it one star for the drinks and they sang happy birthday to my daughter but service sucked waited over an hour for food then it was over cooked, and dry no one hardly came to our table,then it was overpriced.. never again!!
Charming spot, we came here after the beach. Tacos fresh and served nicely presented. We felt the prices were fair and will be pleased to return.

Was looking forward to trying a new restaurant in town. Walked in on a Sunday evening with four adults and four kids and we were turned away because they dont allow hats (the adults were wearing baseball & trucker hats). Meanwhile there were several people sitting in the restaurant wearing hats??? The manager was polite but explained it wasnt his choice but gave no further explanation. We left and went to Pure Shore instead which I would highly recommend.

A really terrible restaurant dining experience. I was given to taco salad with shredded chicken and I almost devoured a big piece of bone. That just simply turned me off from eating anymore. They made good on it and brought a different salad with grilled chicken instead but the salad was completely different lacking ingredients. Then my fiance asked for a side of rice and beans and the gentleman that was our waiter was kind enough to substitute that for her at no additional cost but neglected to bring the rice we never asked cuz we just wanted to get out of there. We were nevere comped for any of this mishap. I think the fact that the bone was in the food should have warranted a little something I wasnt asking for a free meal but only the right thing to do. Ive been to other locations and they have been very good I would recommend to steer clear of this place.
Tonight was very busy for cinco de Mayo, and although I had to wait longer than usual, I applaud the limited staff for working their hardest and the chef for making us the best enchiladas i have ever had. And the lobster quesadilla was perfect! Will be ordering again next week.

On a busy night the food was very good. The atmospher was great. Not to loud. The beer was cold and the food hot. The price was very reasonable. The service was good and cant wait to go back and try a different menu item

I sat down with my family to eat what started out to be a great meal for the first time at this place last night. They had dined here several times before. The drinks & food were pretty good, our waitress attentive, and there was even live music! What a nice start to the evening...that is until a busboy spilled a family member’s drink on me, all over the tablecloth in front of me, onto my lap, and then to the floor. He didn’t apologize, ok an inexperienced kid, but he did grab the cloth napkins from the table to clean up the floor. He made no other attempt to dry the table space in front of where I was eating! Pat the table cloth dry, roll/fold up the wet section out of the way, cover it with a dry table cloth, you know, the typical response to such an event. Needless to say, I was dumbfounded. Our waitress came over and offered my tablemate a fresh drink at no charge and offered me NOTHING. Me, the one who was now soaked in her mojito!! I asked for the manager, and he said the best he could do was to refill my tablemate’s drink for free, that drinks get spilled all the time, and proceeded to walk away from our table. Now, you tell me, what’s wrong with this service. I’ve never experienced such a ridiculous, off handed response to an error made by restaurant staff. Because I was with family, I didn’t make a scene. I also didn’t finish my meal, because I was sitting there in utter disbelief, my clothes soaked, trying to get the wet tablecloth off of my lap. I will never go back to this place again on principle alone. The manager needs a reality check and clearly more training in customer service! The serving staff needs more of the same training, as well as server-related training, and the restaurant owner should be made aware of this absurd experience and better prepare his/her employees. This behavior should never be tolerated. This entire incident was handled horribly wrong. Shame on you! Should I now give you my dry cleaning bill?
Excellent fresh Guacamole made right in front of you to your liking...Margaritas House and Special made well but lacked a distinctive flavor....Friendly, clean, sat outsde, table clean, servers masked and gloved....and live music great! would try again for a meal.1st time visit
We go here for $3 Margaritas on Tuesday. The atmosphere and decor is fun but service is slow unless you sit at the bar. Food is good, Tex Mex style. Ordered fajitas only gave 3 small tortillas for a large amount of food and then tried to charge $4 dollars more for 3 more tortillas..no thanks Id rather pay for another margarita which was cheaper...
Well we had a little misunderstood at the beginning with the management but.... then the manager was very professional and were able to reolve our issue right away👍👍 we had a great time as a family we even got some drinks from the house thank your so much.... nice place
The staff is nice and attentive. The margaritas are delicious as well as their non alcoholic coladas....that mago coloada was magnifique!!! Clean and stocked bathrooms as well. And let is not forget the food. I only had the fajita frita, and it was delicious. Not what i had in mind though. However still good. I recommend!!

We waited 45 minutes to be seated. We ordered an appetizer which took 30 minutes to get an ended up being the wrong order. Then they proceeded to bring raw calamari to us, and someone elses dinner, we was so hungry that we eat it then left.

The vibe is nice. The house margaritas on the rocks was pretty strong and they had a $2.95 special on tuesdays so you cant beat that. The music is a little too loud, you have to scream across the table to hear one another and the food was just OK. I got a mexican avocado salad and it literally had 3 tiny pieces of avocado. I would go back for drinks but thats pretty much it.
The food was good, the service was horrifically slow. To be fair, we did get there 50 minutes before the kitchen closed.

Beautifully surprised by this good looking Mex restaurant in LB. Went for lunch and had excellent tacos al pastor (only two come on the plate though) and also enchiladas suizas all done and presented beautifully. The refried beans and mex rice very good as well. 2nd visit.

Place has nice decoration, However the staff doesn’t seem to be knowledgeable on how to give good service... We were waiting over 15 mins for them to bring water to the table and start with our drinks... Another 15 mins went by and our drinks never came... After that we just walked out the place ... We’ll never come back again

Was excited to try this new establishment in Long Beach. Yes, at one of the best beach towns on LI. The sign at the door indicated No tank tops, No baggie jeans. Hmmmm, I dont know what they are expecting for a restaurant located just a few blocks from the beach..... As a LB resident, I immediately got turned off but walked inside hesitantly in my sweat pants. (Im sorry, we just decided to take a stroll into town on a Friday afternoon). When I inquired about the dress code a man dressed in a nice suite said Well TAKE you. Ummmm, no thanx! You dont need to take me. We walked out and headed to the west end to Jetty where all strollers are welcome.Definitely not LB friendly, and it’s a friggin’ chain!! BTW, even Hotel Allegria allows tank tops....

Worst take out service when they’re busy. They said 25 to 30 min in order to get it ready. When it took 50 min. It happened to me several time.
The food (arroz con pollo) was delicious and the beer cold. Great attentive service.

2022-01-26I went with a group of friends for a dinner. It was very enjoyable. The food was great, the decor was appealing, and the service was nice. I will definitely come back again. Drinks we ordered were relaxing.good job.

2022-05-09The Pollos Margaritas (see photo) was such a tiny portion of meat and so unappetizing looking I almost went back to the restaurant but my parents told me not to bother. !! It looked like somebody had already eaten out of the takeout container!!! Skin and some meat missing from one of the drumsticks!! Barely enough especially for the $20 price tag. The rice and black beans were also forgotten in the order.My dad tried to make reservations for Mothers Day because they had eaten there before and liked it, but they were all booked up for dine in. Im sure they were slammed, but we ordered 9 items and tipped generously. I dont think my family will be ordering from them again anytime soon. I dont usually leave negative reviews but they dont really have a way to be contacted other than phone calls and there was no way that calling late in the day on Mothers Day was going to go well.

2021-06-10We enjoyed ourselves at this cute and unpretentious little spot.Guac is made table side to your own specifications and - obviously- turns out outstanding- very well seasoned and fresh.Very tasty steak Fajitas.Cocktails were good too. Will be back when in the area for sure.

2021-05-01We had a wonderful time here on a Saturday evening. There was live music which was great. The atmosphere is fun and colorful. The menu had numerous food choices and selections. The paella was good, the jambalaya was average. The fajitas were very nice. The cevich was very yummy but would have preferred more than just shrimp in there. Watermelon margarita was very tasty but could have used a bit more tequila. Overall , we had a fun time and the food was good enough. The wait staff was great and attentive. We are looking forward to going back again.

2022-05-09We placed an order of about 6 entrees for pick up on Mothers day. (We tried to make a reservation to dine in, but they said they were booked the whole day. Not so, because when we went to pick up our food, there were empty tables available) Anyway, It just seemed like we were given tiny portions and many of the sides were missing. Of course we tried to check in the restaurant before leaving, but its hard to tell with everything individually packaged and wrapped up.Two family members requested black beans- they were no where to be found. Two people were missing their sides of rice and beans. Portions were generally quite small. They looked like lunch sizes even though we ordered off the dinner menu. My fathers portion looked like someone had already eaten it- 3 tiny bites of chicken that was mostly skin, fat and bone in the container with sauce and soggy lettuce. We asked for corn tortillas for our fajitas and were given flour tortillas. Everyone was disappointed in one way or another. Two stars because the margarita pitcher and the guacamole was decent.

2021-05-07Food was delicious. As you can see with the pictures. Live entertainment and great interior designing. Our waiter was beyond patient with us as i had both my kids with me. The drinks were amazing.Bathroom:Music was in all around. The bathroom smelled good and was extremely clean.

2020-01-05We just had an excellent experience here for a family party. Staff was friendly and attentive, place was very appealing, food and drinks were tasty. Music and lights were on, but it wasn’t too loud or bright. Perfection !!!! Highly recommended.We will definitely be back!!!
