Margaritas Cafe in other cities:
Absolutely horrible! Service sucked! Waiter wasn’t around at all! Spent two hours of our time here and didn’t even enjoy the food. There is no feeling worst than the time of yours spent waisted and being so hungry and waiting for food that was horrible and not described as in the menu! Never again! Also there where huge chicken bones in our chicken in the enchiladas! Almost choked to death will be calling corporate.
I love margaritas as a whole! I normally go to the east meadow one but tonight we decided to try the wantagh one once again since it is a bit closer to home. We got seated right away but at a table with a dirty table cloth that you cant miss. The gentleman was very pleasant and moved us to a different table. Then our waitress came over and she seemed to not give a care in the world. We then ordered our food. WAY smaller portions than the east meadow one. Over all the food was good but then when we asked for more chips, she then decided to tell us it was an extra charge after she had already brought them to the table. This bothered us extremely after already not being attended to asking how our food was or the fact that we had dropped a fork and tried to get someones attention to get another one. I will never be returning to this location primarily due to the service by our waitress Kimberly (as stated on the receipt).Forgot to mention she had an airpod in the whole time which i thought was very tacky and rude. Also, no manager had come around to ask how anything was. Our waitress was also so fast to come take the check, basically waiting for me to give my card, when we were paying. If youre thinking about going to margaritas go to the east meadow one.
Great neighborhood gem. Busy on the weekends, several outdoor tables, heated patio, authentic mexican dishes and a choice of margaritas. There is also a raised bar area with a few tables. The main dining room is long and narrow but not uncomfotably tight. Valet parking on the weekends. Reservations suggested on weekends.
Although we had a reservation and arrived early, they continued to seat people that arrived after us. The hostess told us when we arrived that there was a large party just getting ready to leave and then the tables would be reset. She walked away and thats when a man came along who I believe was the manager and starting seating others! When I asked what was going on the hostess came back and told me oh they were all waiting in their cars! Which was not true, cause the one group asked how long the wait was going to be when they walked in. We didnt get seated until 745. 45 mins after our reservation time! Food was just ok, my French fries were cold and when I told 1 of 3 different people that were serving us he went and put the plate in the microwave! Soggy French fries! Yuck. My husband ordered soup and never got it! It was not a great experience!
The food here is amazing !!! They will also make non alcoholic beverages. We ordered drinks, apps and entrees. The service is wonderful and the mariachi (sp?) was a nice added touch . They make their guac fresh at your table. The portions are huge as well . Would definately go back again. Highly recommend it
Food is mediocre. Service is usually good. But when I took my daughter for lunch there last week, we literally got yelled at for not having a mask. We have not needed any mask for any restaurant in the last 8 months. I dont know why they were so upset. So from now on we will not be coming here. Not worth the headache for mediocre food anyways.
Welcoming staff, broad menu. The mariachi duo was good and as the night went on, wait staff and customers got in on the action. So much fun! The Mixiote de Salmon was lovely (Grilled salmon marinated in guajillo sauce with manchamanteles) - as was the chicken quesadilla and table-made guacamole. Our party of 15 had a wonderful birthday celebration!
Great food at reasonable prices. The service was amazing and the live music was a pleasant suprise. The mariachis seranded the birthday girls and the whole party really enjoyed the festivities. The drinks were delicious and they kept the flowing. Would definitely go again!
Noone cared or paid attention to the fact I was trying to get their attention to place an order to go. People were standing inside the doorway, waiting there. I dont know if they were waiting for a table after checking in, or if they werent approached either. It would have been a very, very long wait until someone came over so I decided to leave. I saw two waitresses inside and one outside, who minded their own business and that was it.
(Cockroach in the food!!) I went to margaritas cafe 8/21/21 in wantagh and ordered the enchiladas suizas. I couldn’t even enjoy the enchiladas because as soon as I dug my fork in the rice a gigantic cockroach fell out from the rice. I was disgusted, in shock. I have never seen something like that in any of my food in any restaurant before. They tried to tell us that it was a cricket but... we live in New York we know what cockroaches look like. The manager then proceeded to bring us said cockroach in a napkin and tried to show us it wasn’t, he also claimed the rice was from the morning yet we started eating at 5 pm. To top it all off the margaritas were horrible... in a place that has margaritas in there restaurant name. Be careful if you eat here and look closely at your food. You never know what goes in the kitchen. Lastly that place definitely had cockroaches!
Over all a amazing restuarant. The food was great, i ate the lobster quesadilla. It came with rice beans and guacamole with sour cream. Very tasty and highly reccomend for being only twenty dollars. The live music was a very nice add in. A group of five playing spanish music added to the theme. It was great however a few problems came up, our first table was wobbling and at the top of a stair case that had alot of traffic so we requested to move which they did let us do, and they charge per drink refill of soda which im never fond of. Especially when its a five dollar refill. But over all a fantastic restaurant with great food, atmosphere, and service. I would come back again.
I made a reservation through open table on their website. When i got there i was told “open table shouldn’t have been working” and had to wait an additional 45 minutes. After waiting the initial 30 minutes I asked how much longer and was told 30 more minutes so I left and then got a text 15 minutes later saying a table was ready. We had to scramble to find another restaurant with availability on a Saturday night when we had a show to make at a specific time so it made our night very stressful.
We went for my 50th birthday... we didnt announce it, its COVID time & just wanted to get out for a meal! We called in advance & arrived earlier than expected, but they had an outdoor table available for us when we arrived. Were still not eating indoors at restaurants. It was a bit chilly. My husbands strawberry margarita & my red sangria were great! 3 of us got the enchilada platters & my son got the taco platter. Food was delicious. It took longer than we hoped (especially being that it was in the low 60s), but overall was a good experience. Good food, good drinks, good service!
I went to place an order for some food. I heard the food was scrumptious.I had ordered food to go, previously,it was excellent. However tonight at 730 pm, eastern time. I had a terrible experience with the manger joel. As many waited for their food. Joel decided to pick me out of everyone else,to leave the store, wait outside for my food. However I followed all protocol,my face mask was on at all time. I didnt see the need for joel to discriminate against me, because of my skin color. I am looking for a lawyer at present time. Because this has to stop!!
As long time customers of many of the Margaritas restaurants in Nassau I was shocked at the rudeness and the homophobic slur the manager of the Wantagh location spit at me when i was trying to get his help on a hit and run that happened in his parking lot. He says things to me I cant repeat in this forum but I tried complaining to the chains owner William Montanez and he didnt fire Juan nor did he even appologize to me for what his manager said and did to me.Additionally my wifes car was smashed in their lot on their property and they didnt care in the least. I was given only 2 security photos too blurry to make out a plate number. In the entire time it took that car to enter the lot, to make a 3 point turn, and then back into my wifes car must have taken that driver at least 1 full minute in the lot. Yet I was given 2 pictures representing barely 2 seconds of time. Im sure there was more than 2 pics and there has to be an angle with the plate number showing. But William Montanez gives me 2 pics showing nothing at all that I can give to my insurance company. And i think that was intentional to deny me clear pics. Maybe an employee was the one that hit my wifes car and they are obstructing.Well William Montanez you lost me and my family as customers. My wife was a big fan of Margaritas but now none of us will eat in any of your restauraunts ever again. And its just as well because the last time I ate in Wantagh the tacos were as dry as sand. Taco Joes, a fast food taco place make tacos 1000% better than yours. And the noise level in Margaritas when your trying to eat and be social at your own table is obnoxious. Will knows that Juan is a problem. other employees of Margaritas have told me its not the first time Juan has been obscenely rude. Juan said things sexual and homophobic to a customer and Will let him keep his job because he had a talk with him Really? I dont think so. My whole family is done with your overpriced dog food and your sardine can parking lots.
The wait staff was very friendly and courteous but the main dishes were average. Not a whole lot of flavor and somewhat dry. Could have been what we ordered. The (regular) margaritas were tasty, but the white wine sangria was a little sour (as in tasted like bad wine). However, we had the tres leches cake for dessert and it was out of this world delicious. Rich in flavor, moist, and just excellent all around. If I could give another half- star, I would just because of the cake
Went to Margarita‘s Café last night although they told us it would be a long wait they ended up setting us right away outside. The guacamole was really good and the service was fantastic! The main course the Tijuana wrap was very fresh and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place with very polite service and fresh Mexican food this is a good choice.
It’s Mother’s Day...my pregnant wife/mother of my children wants Margaritas Cafe for dinner (one of our usual go to Mexican places). I walk in to pick up the order that I had to wait an hour for to find all the employees including the host/manager/owner Wearing masks and gloves. But there was a problem, the masks were around their necks. Including the person putting covers on the food and packing it in bags to go. When I asked the manager if he felt they should be wearing them he threw up his hand and walked away. Look I am not perfect. But don’t mess with someone’s food and health. The world has changed and people such as this cannot be trusted to safely fully prepare your food. The food that your loved ones will consume. You don’t know if this virus will be easy for you or put you in the grave. Don’t take a chance at this establishment. Good luck out there
We were recommended to try Margarita’s Cafe in Wantagh. We ordered in. I ordered the Pollo Margaritas, the portion was embarrassing, not to mention $17.95. It was 2 cornish hen sized wings and 2 baby legs. Drowned in sauce and soggy. My wife ordered the Enchiladas Suiza. They were dry, tough and chewy. We will never again order from here or recommend this place either.
First time here we came for lunch. Place was empty which is great by me. All the staff were extremely nice and accommodating. Fast to help and attentive with water refills. We got chicken and shrimp tacos that were very delicious and fresh. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because of the value. For the price we only got 2 tacos that werent even that full with ingredients. I feel If they gave 3 tacos for that price or if the two they gave were overflowing with lettuce cheese and tomatoes then I could see more value. Same with the beans. They spread them out across the plate to look like you are getting a lot but its such a thing later that its really only a few spoonfuls at best. Either way I will probably return for dinner to see if anything is better.
What a great find next to my physical therapist office. Perfect place for sitting outside and having a drink on a nice summer night. The food was definitely authentic Mexican so my kids didnt love it. However for drinks and appetizer it was great. And I love the live music although it was not Spanish music.
Been here a few times and its rock solid. I cant comment on authenticity, but everything is very tasty. The salsa and guacamole are fresh, delicious, and not too spicy. The menu is vast and truly has something for everyone. Margaritas are delicious, reasonably priced, and there are tons of varieties. The place is full of atmosphere, complete with live music. My only complaints are the parking situation and the noise level.
Just moved here to Levittown. Literally live 20 seconds from this place. My date for the night and I entered the restaurant, placed our name on the list to wait, and then was confronted by the manager JUAN who within minutes, who was accusing me of snorting cocaine in his restaurant in the front waiting area where 15+ people were around me. Claimed he saw me touch my nose (I had a mask on too...) on camera and that this was not allowed here. Imagine that’s your first impression of this restaurant. I was embarrassed and I was treated with the upmost disrespect, on top of it the workers rush you and are nasty. I guess that’s why the margaritas are so strong and tasty, it makes you forget about the terrible service and subpar food!
I dont say this often, but this place blew me away!! First and foremost for a place named Margaritas they definitely live up to their name. Their regular margarita is hands down the best margarita Ive ever had. On top of that, their menu selection is great and they served me one of the best salmon plates Ive ever had! I couldnt believe how good everything was, and I will definitely be returning, a must must must see!
I had a bargain $8.95 lunch deal: a delicious green salad that included chunks of guacamole and a grilled chicken fajita sandwich with strips of white chicken, crunchy red and green peppers, and caramelized onions. Served with typical rice and beans on the side, this made for a satisfying, excellent lunch. When we mentioned this was our first visit to Margaritas Cafe 3, we were given a free dessert: yummy flan to share with my husband. I highly recommend this restaurant, which has daily specials, drink deals, daily lunch specials, and a bargain brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
Me and my family sat down here at 8:30pm it’s now 9:55pm we ordered 1 round of drinks never got asked for for refills.. had to go to the bar myself to get straws.. several new tables opened up and got served way before us.. I called over our waiter and asked about our food he then told us he has no control over the kitchen.. anyone who goes out to eat knows Mexican is cooked very fast.. if you can’t handle being open during these times don’t be open because you will end up destroying you reputation.
The food was ok at best. I’m spoiled from living in LA in the past but still. How do you make beans extra bland?service was abysmal. Got the meal never saw the waitress until halfway done eating and had to wait until the bartender came around from behind the bar and got near the table to ask about drinks that were never made and they were mediocre as well
Great food, awesome staff, birthdays are even more fun as a surprise. Margaritas are very tasty either by the cup, half pitcher or a whole one for the table. Plenty of options on the menu and always make sure to ask for the specials that arent on the menu that are out of this world !
Ive been here a few times for dinner and enjoyed the experience. Today I went for lunch for the first time, and it was even better. The lunch prices and portions were awesome and the service was top notch due to the fact it wasnt nearly as packed as dinner time. Good job!
Ive been there quite a few times over the last 4 years. It was always an awesome place especially the bar! The staff ( bad tenders) were the best! Well things have changed in the last 6 months and not for the good! Werent today after 12:30 no bad gender on site, on servers that cant make a proper Margarita! Asked if the new manger can make a Perfect Patron margarita reply NO! New manager has no personality which is not good for business! Was looking for a second cocktail, server was no where to be found and the so called manager was on his cell phone..... Enough said!
Awesome greeting, but as the place got busier, they forgot about us. A bee flew into our sangria and died, so our server took it away to replace it and she never returned. Other staff delivered our food, no one ever checked on us again until I went to the host stand to ask for the check. To our dismay we were still charged for the sangria. The food was ok; shrimp ceviche had a foul fish flavor, steak tacos were very good, and the avocado salad left much to be desired.Oh, and the salsa playlist was awesome!
A Bunch of Liars - this review is not about the food, since we never got to eat. When we got there (party of 6), we were told a 30-minute wait, which turned into an hour, and then they still couldnt tell us how much longer. They knew, but obviously didnt want us to go somewhere else if we were told a longer wait. A little truthfulness wouldnt hurt. This was our first time there, and our last. But if you do go when the restaurant has entertainment, make sure you bring earplugs too.
Ate hear with my wife and 2 year old son last night. Everything from accommodations for my son to food and drinks was perfect. My wife had the Perfect Patron Margarita which was perfectly mixed and I had an ice cold Dos Equis Amber to start with our fresh table side guacamole. Entrees for the evening was a Steak Faldita... Not fajita (theres a difference in the two) and I had a Skirt Steak special (pictured) that was outstanding. One of my favorite places to go eat are high end steak houses and this skirt steak with a nice Mexican twist was better than any skirt steak Ive ever had. Thank you for a great experience and a wonderful night out for me and my family.
Was skeptical about this place from the outside, but once I went in I was wrong. Great atmosphere with very nice decor. Greated and seated right away. Followed by a very generous portions of enchiladas 😊. Which didnt disappoint one bit. Well definitely come back again
Good food, fun atmosphere, but for me the Mariachis got to go. Leave me alone while I am eating :-) I want to taste and talk, not scream over the Mariachi to talk to those at my table. One could say this comes with a Mexican restaurant, just not my thing. Food was good, I will be back during the week when its quieter.
I waited over an hour got the wrong order than was told that it was my fault for making the wrong order when I showed Joel the manager my receipt he was still rude and offered me no solution but to order again I’ll never go there again and I highly recommend NOT to waste your time or money with such unprofessional people
Hidden gem.....was driving by happened to see name...was in the mood for a margarita so we stopped in. Was pleasantly surprised. I am a very picky eater. They basically created a burrito of my choosing for me and even made it as one of their specials. So go swing by have a peach margarita and a special Tiffany fish burrito
Awful came here Friday night for the first time with friends and the manager on duty was very nasty I could not believe it. He started an argument with my friend because she didn’t hear him to unblock the small exit. Then he went to snatch her drink and was making nasty remarks. Very awful I felt threatened also felt like there was a racial issue as well.
One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I’ve dined at this restaurant about four times with each time I had a favorable experience except for my last visit. When my friends and I visited on May 5th we understood there would be a wait time, which did not bother us. We waited over an hour and a half for our food so I then asked the assistant manager (not knowing he was a manager at the time) if he could please check on our order. He was extremely rude and stated “Don’t bang on the table at me.” I never banged on the table I replied, “I am sorry, I waved at you to get your attention I did not bang on the table. I understand tonight is very busy and I would like to know if you could please check on my food.” He then replied, “I don’t have to check on anything. You need to go back to school to learn some manners.”For someone who works in the food service industry or any customer service job, let alone a manager, this was not the way to act towards paying customers. He then walked away leaving my friends and I as was well as the couple next to us astonished that he acted in such an inappropriate manner.Another waiter came with our food right after. We explained to him that we no longer wanted the food due to the horrible service we just received. This waiter asked if we would please stay and he assured us he would take this up with upper management. We did not want to ruin our evening in addition to being hungry and waiting such a long time for our meal, so we decide to stay and enjoy the rest of our night. What a bad idea that was. I spoke with the manager who was working that night who showed no compassion for the poor experience that we had. I did expect the manger to act differently since he has spoken to us other times we have been there in the past. We even expressed how great the service and staff was with our previous visits. When we were talking to the manger the rude assistant manager made comments such as “you can leave now” “Why are you still here.” While the manager just stood there. There is no way I would ever treat anyone, nor want to be treated that way especially since we paid for the food and drinks we had without asking for a discount on our bill or anything free drinks due to the poor customer service. As we are leaving the restaurant, the staff members that we interacted with on our other visits apologized for the manager’s behavior and expressed how deeply sorry they were. Even the security guard statement there was no reason for them to treat and talk to you in that manner. There is no reason why your staff should be apologizing for their manager’s behavior. I would never eat at this or any of their restaurant again.
Had a disappointing meal and drinks here recently and was with 7 other people who felt the same.I had a chipotle burrito here and there flavors were just okay. Portion was huge, just didnt get the same punch that I would from elsewhere. Based on other peoples reactions to their food, I would give it a 3/5.My drink was awful. Im not a big tequila person, so I just ordered Absolut and Seltzer and I got a glass of Seltzer. Zero vodka in there. Everyone else got Margaritas and they were all weak and premade. And these were not the ones in a pitcher, they were there speciality drinks. Drinks all around would rate a 0/5.Im shocked given how packed the place was, but from my point of view, I wouldnt recommend.
Love the the decor and colors of the place. So vibrant and fun. It was decorated pretty for the holiday and New years. The menu was large and seemed very traditional. I figured Id try something ive never had and it tasted great (fajita frita). Only wished they hadnt put in peppers like I asked, but no big deal. The waitor was great, very friendly and personable. Will definitely come back.

2022-04-09OMG.....I just passed by this place a week prior and it looked nice and figured Id give it a try. The Food was seriously so good. I started with a special Margarita and the loaded Nachos. Then we had the beef empanadas, which were good and very crunchy. Overall the food was delicious and the ambiance was so pretty and the place smelled brand new. The staff was very attentive and fast and friendly. Seems like a hidden Gem to me. I also have friends in the area that spoke very highly of this place as well. Definitely check this place out. And also....the churros were delicious!!!

2020-10-30Nice place with a very traditional Mexican atmosphere and music 👍🏼. Delicious food, very welcoming staff. Portions are literally huge. A very big choice on the menu. A lot of Halloween decorations and colors in the place. Good prices ✅. And it was nice to get chips with tomato sauce for starting. The only one thing doesn’t match to this place is a ladies room, which could be nicer. Especially this year when people don’t want to touch anything another time. Thanks for staying in business.

2022-03-16We went on a Tuesday night it wasnt packed. We were seated immediately. I ordered a combination platter if chicken burrito and 2 cheese enchiladas. The waiter even came back to confirm 2 cheese enchiladas vs quesidillas. When I received my food everything was chicken. I informed the waiter and he took back my whole dish as opposed to just taking the enchiladas away. When he returned with my dish the cheese enchiladas were not melted and cold at that point, I just ate the chicken burrito which was good and some of the rice and beans.

2022-04-19Sat at our table for at least 10 min, before anyone came to greet us. had to wave down a server. They still didn’t come for another 5 min. The food was average. Good guac but that’s about it.

2022-03-05The food is always delicious, authentic, high quality. Skirt steak is amazing. My only complaint is the service could be a little more professional. But we always go back.
