The restaurant was very small, dark and cramped. We arrived 10 minutes after opening and used the bathroom which had almost no toilet paper and a broken garbage can. The food arrived after a bit of a wait. We ordered 4 pizzas, the burrata, eggplant, 4 cheese and margarita. Half of the crust on one of the pizzas was completely black and burnt, so I pointed this out to the woman who placed the pizza on our table. Her response was It is just crispy. and then she walked away. We spent over $100 for 4 pizzas for the 4 of us and for that price they should not have served a burnt pizza. It was such a disappointing meal. We will not be back.
My go to Manhattan place to eat! I’ve reviewed this place once before. Went again today. Never disappointed. Pizza was delicious our pasta was on point! Carlo is amazing especially with my kids! Very sweet polite and on top of everything! I brought my nephew with us today and he’s special needs and everyone in there was so nice about it! That means a lot to me! And we shall return again next week! Thank you again for a delicious lunch and great hospitality!
Great service by Julio (sp), our waiter. We were promptly seated and greeted. Our waiter was kind, and patiently answered my ten thousand questions. The food was prepared quickly and all of the ingredients tasted fresh. The pasta and pasta sauce were delicious. Although I ordered pizza on this visit I will definitely order pasta on my next visit.
Stumbled upon this place as I was walking through Little Italy. Really enjoyed the environment, the staff was very welcoming, and the food was amazing. I had the Quattro Formaggi pizza with honey on top and I have to say that it was quite possibly the best pizza Ive ever had. Ill definitely be back at some point.
Ate here 2 of the 4 days I was in New York. The food is incredible. The ingredients are imported from Italy and the pizza cooked in an oven hand made by the owner himself. My ideal restaurant for being able to say I tried something new and authentic. Must visit. Wish I had this location by my place in Atlanta.
This is the real deal! Arguably the best pizza in the often touristy Little Italy area. Authentic Napoletana style pizzas with a dough that is deliciously fire-scorched on the outside and perfectly chewy on the inside. Excellent atmosphere is intimate and cozy...youll forget youre in a bustling area. Family owned by delightful Italians.
Best pizza Ive ever had in my life! Love the atmosphere and the staff, Giuseppe is awesome and knows a ton about his food and coffee. Also have some amazing espressoIf you are visiting NYC and want to try some authentic Napolitano pizza, this is hands down the best. Small cozy place in the heart of little Italy w some great vibes and outdoor seating in the summer, cant wait to go back!
Not native to NY or the little Italy district, but this place rocks. The pizza is authentic and the pastas are amazing. Very friendly staff who took the time to walk us through the menu and made some great suggestions! Would highly recommend this place if you visiting or just looking for a quick bite to eat!
Expensive for what you get. Pizzas were fine but nothing special. Pasta was a small portion with very little meat content and expensive. Calzone was undercooked despite asking for it to be cooked a bit longer. Too much gooey dough and not much filling. Maybe they were having an off day. Over-rated.
Cute and cozy spot in Little Italy if you want to avoid the larger Italian restaurants in the area where they try to lure in tourists. Portions are on the smaller side for the price point but we were able to order a few dishes to share for our table. They serve a variety of Italian dishes but the pizza is their specialty. I thought their pizza was okay but I think sometimes it is hard to impress a New Yorker with so many options. Their tiramisu, however, was delicious!
I recently had the pleasure of dining here and splitting the eggplant appetizer, a margherita pie, and ravioli with butter and sage. All of the food was delicious and no morsel was left behind, with the ravioli and eggplant being the stand outs for me. I would love to come back and try some of the other options, especially the gnocchi. The atmosphere in Margherita is warm, with all of the staff treating each other and their customers well. The foccacia bread is really tasty too!
Listen to me. The pizza here is REALLY F***ing good. As far as the pizza goes it might be the best version of this type of pizza Ive ever had. Ive tried a few spots with similar pizza and margherita NYC is the clear winner out of the competition. I ordered the diavola. What a perfect combination of thin crust, delicious sauce and spicy salami. Nothing less than a symphony in my mouth. Ill cut the this rant short, the pizza was flawless. If the 5 star rating wasnt secured by the pizza alone, the service would have put them over the hump. I interacted with one person, the bartender, pizza maker and owner (assumption). He confidently recommended the diavola, poured my drinks and made the pie from scratch. It took no longer than 5 mins for that pie to come out of their oven and be served to me. The service could not have been more efficient. The owner was very personable despite how busy he was. He was conversing with the customers, communicating with the staff in Italian and making pizzas simultaneously.Easy 5 stars here. I received amazing food, efficient service and an authentic Sicilian experience. The bar is set for Sicilian spots in Manhattan.
Service, Pizza and Wine was great.Pizza: Better than Grimaldis. Exceptional.Wine: $30 carafe of house wine was extremely tasty and extremely generous.Marinara Sauce: Water. Its just water, there may be food coloring in it.Calamari: Hot garbage. I dont think they know how to fry here. It cant even be classified as a bad fry job, its just not edible. Staff nodded knowingly when we could not eat the calamari and shrimp, but we felt too bad to ask for a refund.Gnocchi: Inedible lumps.Taramisu: Fun whipped cream thing.Gnutella Pizza: Dont bother. Just buy a jar of gnutella.Service: Exceptional.Little Italy is dead. This spot is the proof. Drop the Italian-American dishes and just serve pizza if you want to keep this place open.
I should have know better. We were staying on edge of Little Italy and in a rush. The night before we had had the most amazing Malaysian food next door. (Nyonya)We were starving and in a hurry to catch our train. So I had my suspicious by the location and underwhelming name. But, the menus looked cool and I heard Italian accents so maybe! We order a margherita pizza. It was one they make with buffalo mozzarella. We get the pie very quickly. I took one bite and the entire crust but for the very edge was soaking wet with moisture. I refused to eat anymore. The soggy texture was similar to my 5.th grace school cafeteria pizza. I told the waitress I’m going to pay but this pizza was awful. Soaking wet. Her response: “that’s how it is with that pizza. The cheese has more moisture.” I told her I know some cheese has more moisture but you can still make a non soaking wet crust. I turned it over and it was rubbery and glistening. The manager comes by. I tell him the same thing. He says “that’s how it is. More moisture.” I told him it sucked. He offered to make another one and I said we had to go. I paid for the pizza. I didn’t like his excuses and what a shame such a pizza being served in nyc.
Never have i EVER had a waitress come up to me & complain about the tip given, this girl came up to me & asked me if 5$ was all i was going to tip to a 40$ check, i honestly cannot believe how RUDE she was that i wish i didnt even left her one single cent. Never again! Disgusting service
So I am a restauranteur from texas. I have traveled all over the world looking tasting flavor profiles, menus decor. I happened into this gem on a recent trip to new york. I have been researching, and planning a concept here locally that has simple menu, but great food. This place has it all ambiance, fantastic food, great wine. When I left truly felt magical. I assure you this is a real review not posted by the owner. I am a realestate developer, and restraint developer from texas. Absolutely loved it.
We are from LA CA. We been here before a year and a half ago so we came to NY again 3-23-18 and we ordered 3 pizzas and 1 spaghetti plate well the 3 pizzas were burned we were all starving but one of us said this is NOT how we ate last time we came these pizzas are all burned , so they made another one and that was a little burned but better, my spaghetti was very small portion I had to order bread sticks and guess what they were burned also, we were tired and hungry from the Statue of Liberty tour that some of us ate our food burned, so desipointed burned pizza and high price $75.00 never again going to eat at Margherita NYC ☹️
I cannot speak of Pizza, which of Pizza is just an invention right for. To judge a pizza the first thing I should ask, what oil do you use? what flour do you use? then the seasoning is all good if combined well what counts for a good product whole durum wheat flour without the bran, and olive oil. elastic pizzas if the pizza chefs eat them ... What should I do with you pizza? I dont feel like saying one thing for another. hi
Hello Hello, small place but in the context it is welcoming. Say you eat Italian is a bit risky. In my experience in the period of November 2019. The Pizza you eat calculating that you are in New York, for the rest ate a first course of pasta and a lasagna, but agree !!! Good commitment that we put, but for us Italian DOC, there is no better than the food we eat at home.
How cute and cozy a restaurant can be. The staff is super friendly and helpful and tried immediately. These pizzas are simply WOW a real taste experience rarely eaten such a good pizza. The only downside is the price. Since everything else fits, you can overlook it. It is definitely worth a visit.
Excellent pizza, I recommend the buffalo and provolone. With a glass of Italian red wine. The place is small, but that makes it more cozy and takes you to eat at home. The attention is good, but if they have a large table to attend, they get a little complicated.Tip: Do not sit near the door when it is cold.
They put happy hour but it is only a reduction of drinks and only a few, no variety, they charge table service and we are a restaurant they do not give you anything or toast, they do not have a tablecloth (the only one that charged us like that, in 15 days that we have been going out ) Already in the account and they are not interested in making you smile, pizza? I wish it had been good at least, we also ordered a salad and she brought pure lettuce and even the hard parts of this plant, you pay for the location, nothing else does not have.
If you are looking for a real italian restaurant in little italy this is the place.Delicous pasta flavor, real pizza, small place but good attention, I recommend themIf you are looking for a real Italian restaurant in Little Italy, this is the lugsr, the only real Italian and non-American Italian name. delicious taste of pasta, real pizza, small place but good attention, I recommend them
The normal food for the price very expensive paid, poor service, tip of 18% + rate already included in the bill ... as you choose the value of the corgeta according to the service as soon as we just finished lunch the waiter threw the account folder like if asked to leave, and the place was empty ... I do not recommend

2022-05-25We did not dine here so I can’t speak for the food.I can speak for the amazing good vibes and delicious espresso! My husband and I were looking for a quick espresso and we’re turned away by another restaurant down the street and I’m so glad we were because we were warmly greeted and welcomed in by Pep’s. It never hurts to smile and be welcoming. We’ll be back soon!

2020-04-11Cant even begin to explain how amazing this place is. A slice of authentic Italy, the ingredients are super fresh and cheese direct from Italy. The Neopolitan style pizza is a must, not to mention the pasta dishes. I drool over the tiramisu and order it every time. The staff is stellar and makes you feel right at home, a wonderful place to dine with friends or family.

2019-01-28Terrific little Italian place known for its pizza. They use high-quality, fresh ingredients and treat them with respect. The thin pies have a nicely bubbled crust with just the right amount of toppings so each can be appreciated.Super-friendly staff and nice ambiance.

2020-02-05One of the best Italian restaurants in the city. Shrimp/ricotta ravioli with saffron sauce is one of the best things Ive eaten in a while, and the pizzas are out of the world. The cheesecake is one of the best in the city, melt-in-your-mouth with perfect crumble. And exceptionally warm service!

2017-10-05Shaking my damn head!!!!! I am down the block from them. The personal margherita pizza my boyfriend ordered for me was cold and so was the calamari. The pizza is burnt. I love toasty pizza but when I bit into it I could taste the burnt part. The calamari are suppose to be fried? Because they came soggy with the breading hanging off. Pictures are attached. I never ever wrote a bad review. Im just so disappointed because I was starving. I was so looking forward to this. It sucks!

2019-07-10Their margheritta pizza is a MUST! If youre looking for brick oven pizza, you cannot go wrong here. The service is top notch and super friendly.Dont forget to ask for extra basil. Youll thank me later. My only suggestion: a wider beer selection would be greatly appreciated.

2017-11-14Honestly, pizza was delicious. However, service was incredibly impolite. Careless server had already charged 18% tip for not doing anything AT ALL but writing down an order of two personal pizzas. Great! Not coming back again ;)
