Great place to embark on the water. Both sides of the basin there are undeveloped nature preserves with lots of migrating birds. The marina rents skiffs, kayaks and paddle boards and they have hot showers. definitely a hidden gem
The marina has been a perfect getaway for me and my friends from the urban chaos and stress.Ari, Martin and Rosie are doing their best to keep this gem low key and fun for everyone who are boating here.Local fishermen and creative types coexist perfectly and everyone finds their own little paradise here.Most of the docking spots are taken for house boats but theres space left and lots of space for small fishing boats still.The marina is a short walk away from the swimming beach and the board walk is supposed to reopen this spring.
I like how the management team manipulates the rating by acting like they are customers rating the business.Environment experience.1. At night you hear gunshots almost every night.2. You mentioned hummingbirds Really? I never saw one all I experienced was biting salt water flies. And at dusk the Mosquito swarms are so very aggressive.I had my boat dry docked there through 3 different marina owners over 14yrs I think I payed well enough or I would not have made 14 yrs. The last owners were the ones that messed things up by not knowing the marine industry. No Exp. I hope they got someone who knows better now. There is always hope.PS ask about hidden charges and fines not done by other marinas.
Secure harbor and boatyard. Food provisions nearby. On site marine mechanic. Fiberglass work. Haulout service. Docks with water and power. No fuel dock but gas station a stones throw away. No restaurants nearby. No moorings. Overall good vibes.

Great spot for cheap skiff rentals, perfect for that relaxing day of fishing; set anchor and cast-out and watch the scene from every angle. Hard to reach.
Went there to see someones project. The management was kind to let us look around. Interesting house boats and floating homes to look at.

2021-08-18I celebrated my birthday on Marina 59s pontoon and highly recommend the experience. Close from Manhattan, the pontoon is very clean, and Mark is super accommodating!

2018-08-30Most awesome skiff boat rentals decently priced!!! this is a great choice for anyone wanting to spend quality time with family or friends in a fun and beautiful way! Both adults and children will love the Jamaica Bay. You can watch the airplanes from JFK Airport taking off and landing. you can relax in the nature preserve areas. you can get a great view of NYC and go under some bridges which is cool! you get the feel of an exciting ocean adventure as well as a small town lake combined! the skiff boats are designed to go fast enough so that you can have the wind blow in your face and get sprinkled with water and yet also slow and relaxing so that you can eat your lunch, fish, or have a serious conversation. The staff are friendly and sincere. Thank you Edwin for your instructions, setting us up in the boat, and making sure we had what we needed. Thank you Erin for your encouragement, friendliness and efficiency. And thank you Ari for providing this outlet so that people can enjoy the natural wonders of the world that God has created!
