We retained Mark Anthony Architectural to seek a variance from a State code provision in connection with a house lifting project. They not only achieved a favorable decision, but were also a pleasure to work with - professional, responsive and courteous. And the price was very reasonable. We are very satified and recommend this firm without reservation.
Mark Anthony Architectural designed our home about ten years ago. Since that time, we have asked them to design many homes for our business. Their customer service is exceptional. The entire staff is professional, friendly and efficient. They are indispensable when it comes to navigating the permit process with all local municipalities. We have recommended them to many friends and will continue to do so. If you are in need of an architectural firm, they will take great care of you. Highly Recommend!
Mark and his crew came through when we fired our original architect, Northeast Drafting & Consulting out of Levittown. He promised that everything would be done by a certain date when the other guy took a year and still never finished. We were able to finish our dormer a week before everything shut down due to covid. This wouldve never happen with the other architect. Truly greatful for Mark and his crew.
I contacted Mark Anthony’s office when lifting my house. I had the pleasure of working with Don throughout the process and could not be happier. On many occasions there always seemed to be “something else” from the Village or New York Rising and Don helped in a timely, professional manner every step of the way. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a worry and hassle free experience.
My experience with his services is very simple. I didn’t hire him. Mark and his firm was recommended to me by someone. First contact was on point and seemed to me like I found the right person. We got a proposal and all looked good. I discussed the timeline with his office over the phone and we agreed that they can file for my permit in 4 weeks from contract. This is when everything changed. My wi went in person to drop off the retainer and it is then when we were told the first available appointment for the design start was 4 weeks out. Turned out we also had a conflict 4 weeks out due to a planned vacation so the next appointment made available to us was 5 weeks out. We spent close to half hour asking how this was not communicated on the phone and asking if something can be done to help us expedite the process a bit as we are under a time crunch to file our permits. Every single time, the answer was that they can’t help us. When getting a bit deeper into the conversation, we found out they only do 2 design appointment slots per day between 2 and 5. No mornings, no mid days, no late in the day, and don’t even think about a weekend appointment.My wife asked again if they can be a bit flexible and help accommodate and the response was that they cannot Vance an existing client for us. We never asked for that but rather asked for their flexibility with their dumb time slots. Needless to say, we were talking to the walls. My wife walked out and we took our retainer back.As a last ditch effort, my wife sent Mark an email and called asking for him. It took 2 days to get a hold of him only for him to be arrogant and condescending to my wife.Mark and his business clearly do not know how to run a business, respect their clients, and most importantly appreciate your business. If you want to be treated as if you are getting a favor and as if it is a privilege for you to hire them, pursue them further. Otherwise, go somewhere else where you can at least get respect for the business you are providing the firm with.
I used Mark Anthony Architects for my music school. Literally called them and they had one of their architects at my location in a couple of days, the plans were drawn out a week later, made one or two revisions and the plans were submitted. Everything happened in a matter of about two in a half weeks. INCREDIBLE! Everyone that worked with us in our project was great. Very satisfied with their service and professionalism. They were all very friendly and made me feel comfortable with any revisions/questions that I had.
My experience with Don Amen was a real pleasure. I have a home extension project that I am thinking of doing and his professional expertise and knowledge of the scope of my project was a true eye opener. I would recommend this firm to any one of my friends. Thank you for all your help and guidance.
His office confirmed a 9:45am meeting the day before, I drove up 4hrs to Li from Andrews AFB. The next day at 9:50am his office calls to cancel. I explain my situation and ask if there is anyway he can meet later on in the day, they tell me no. Lacks professional courtesy.
Thanks to Mark Anthony Architecture for correctly diagnosing and documenting sub-surface design errors made by a Long Island contractor who completed a hardscaping project for me that ultimately sunk and was ruined with no one taking responsibility leaving me (the homeowner) holding the bag. Their incisive, straight-to-the-point analysis will be instrumental in helping me resolve this long running dispute. I look forward to working with them in the future.
Too time consuming,before signing contract please ask them, after how many months they will see you or start working on your project. Some times you will feel like they could have done this 3 months a go. they take long, forever, for every little thing.Don’t go by looks of there office, staff & set up.

2020-03-09I contracted Mark and his team for a substantial two floor addition to my home and could not be happier with the service and product I received. We worked with Don often who was extremely knowledgeable and professional but throughout the process spoke with many others and can say that you cannot go wrong working with anyone in this office.I would consider myself a picky client and annoy myself at times but never got the sense that I was annoying Marks team with my questions and obsession over details. All questions were addressed promptly and they were always there to make fantastic recommendations for my project.I live in a village where the building department is known to be a nightmare but the plans we submitted were approved immediately with no questions asked; That is how good Mark Anthony Architectural are!Could not praise them enough, they made an intimidating process comfortable and easy for me and my family.

2021-08-06During the process of building our house, the only experience we were fully satisfied with was Mark Anthony’s office. They were ALWAYS available and took their time to make sure we were comfortable with the design, allowed us ample time go over and tweak things a little bit. TOH took 8 months with our plan and Variance process and Mark was very commanding dealing with the entire team.Lisa is a gem. She will be there for you whenever you have any questions or concerns. Your contractor and others will eat away the design print out :) but not to worry! Mark’s office will provide you whenever you need an extra copy or two.We loved the fact that Mark took time during and in between sessions and pointed out the things we needed to go over, gave his thoughts, shared a few of his clients experience. It was helpful which allowed us to focus on the things we really “need” and not just the “want”.Thank you Mark, Lisa, Albert, and Shorty (but he is actually a big guy- another gem)

2022-03-18Update: We did hire them for a private job in 2021, and I absolutely still recommend.We worked with this firm through NY Rising for our home elevation project and couldnt have been happier. Always responsive and friendly, Don helped us navigate a complicated and frustrating process, balancing program restrictions and TOH requirements in a timely manner. Would hire privately and highly recommend.

In dealing with Village CO issues in an estate process I was already stressed to the max but Mark Anthony alleviated a lot of that and brought me over the finish line. 2019-11-13My wife and I used them for a fairly large legalization project. They were extremely professional and thorough throughout the entire project. I dealt with several individuals from their office and they were all equally fantastic. Specifically, the project manager Don, expediter Joanne, and Matt were phenomenal, explaining every step of the process in great detail and were very patient with my many questions and comprehensive in their explanations. We were faced with a couple challenges, caused by our local municipality that they were able to resolve quickly and effectively. I would highly recommend this company for any architectural needs as well as all legalization issues.

2020-07-31My husband and I have dealt with this company a number of times on several projects. Each time, we have received timely and courteous service. Our projects were done to our specifications, and we were provided with good information about each project. Everyone in the firm communicated with us clearly and professionally.
