Market 32 in other cities:
Well where do I start. First they claim the bottle return closes at 9pm. But the staff close it half hour early so they can hang out in the parking lot. There no cashiers on after 7pm. Only self check out. There meat department closes at 7pm. They start closing down at 6pm. And refuse to give you service. The bakery never have staff on after 2pm. And when you speak to any mangement. They tell you to contact corporate. There parking lot is always loaded with shopping carts. There outside garbage cans are overloaded. Price Chopper/Market 32 has gone down hill over the last 2 years and they cant blame covid. Because they never shut down and they never fired or let staff go. They have become a very lazy company.
A pleasant and well kept grocer that seamlessly merges old-fashioned customer care and attention to detail with modern convenience and ethical sustainability. An excellent local grocer that still somehow manages to exude an air of ‘family business’ despite it being a chain of stores. This Amsterdam location is very clean and tidy and full of helpful and friendly associates.
In 1939 was my first visit to Central Market Schenectady NY with my Grandmother. I have been a customer for 81 yrs and a neighbor of Neil Hoping in Niskayuna for over 39 years. Now at PC # 30, I live at Galway Lake. So, I feel like Im part of the Family and a good customer.
The quality of this stores products and services used to be exceptional. However within the past year or so this quality has significantly decreased. I have had continuous issues with expired products. Just recently I purchased shrimp that was bad and bread from the bakery that was stale.I shouldnt have to look for out of date items as Im shopping and unfortunately that is what it has come to. Not to mention the associates in the hot food area. I have waited and witnessed customers waiting lengthy periods for assistance. I have also, on several occasions witnessed associates in that area not only ignoring us, but arguing amongst themselves about who should assist us. It was almost as if we are annoying them. I just dont understand where the quality went in this store. I used to love it here.
Beautiful storeVery cleanVery spaciousLarge assortment of productsLargest selection of olive oils Ive ever seen.Friendly associatesVery customer friendly market cafe area. Amazed how nice it looked. Loved how they had some larger seats and benches. Power supply right at some of the seats with the option of a USB charger.Very impressed on how the store was converted into a Market 32 from the original Price Chopper.
We have been using Instacart for a few weeks its has its plus and minus. Yesterday the girl that packed our order did an amazing job, all the cold items together, frozen items together, etc. Thank you so very much it made unpacking so much easier. Its not always that way again thank you
A lot of the employees are very friendly and professional but the exorbitant prices tend to keep me away from this supermarket as much as possible. I also inquired about a certain deli item being pulled away and sadly my question never got answered by anyone. The pharmacy showcases very poor and apathetic customer service. The store is set up beautifully but I just wish that the management cared more; it would really enhance the store in every way possible.
Since revamping from Price Chopper, the store has been a little less friendly. The deli is mismanaged when you see 4 people standing around talking instead of dealing with customers. The deli no longer advertises prices for meat and cheese so its difficult to navigate. The fruit and vegetable selection is not as good or fresh as it was before, I always find rotting food. I still enjoy the store, but its not as easy to shop as it used to be.
I donot understand why when you have over twenty people waiting in line and I counted them it was probably more there are only two registers open. Yes self checkout was also open and there were many waiting in that line as well. There are certain hours that a store is busy and I believe management knows that . Why do they not open more registers ?
This used to be a great Price Chopper Supermarket with a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Ever since it switched to a Market 32 it has continually gone downhill. Prices are higher and many of the staff are just plain rude. The produce staff and general grocery stockers are friendly, but the bakery and deli, a bunch of grumpy trolls mostly. Plus, try to find someone to help you without attitude!! Very disappointed.
Was out if allot of food. Not the friendliest but the stick boys and cashiers where wonderful . The two twin boy are always helpful and smiling and a employee John riveria went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with the outcome of my visit to the best of his ability
This Market 32 was out of stock on many essentials. Although I know this is due to the mass hysteria of the village idiots. It would be nice if normal shoppers knew when store shelves were to be restocked. But on the topic of the plastic bag ban...I think things are going well. Bags to purchase are available for those of us who have: yet continue to forget.( Lol ) as well as those people still needing more than they brought.
You go to the store and wait 15 minutes for floral department and you ask a simple question, then they bark at you.. I wanted to order some flowers and balloons for graduation. I just asked a question do you do graduation balloons, and she responded that they were up front, then continue to walk away. They have a consultation room so you can come an discuss your wedding plans. Definite thumbs down, but like the store otherwise.
There is just about everything you could look for in a grocery store for food. There is also many my household and hygiene amenities. Sushi, chicken, pizza, and seafood for meals to go. There is a flower area with consultation, a butcher, and a pharmacy. Every selection is there except for certain exclusives. Clean organized and eight self checkouts the waits are not long.
With renovations seemingly finished, this Price Chopper, or as it is now known as Market 32, is a fresh look that did away with the retro design that brought back memories of shopping with my parents. Now it better resembles what Binghamton, NY has always had, a Wegmans, and of course also appeals to the Hannaford/ Whole Foods shoppers. The entire store, from the Deli to the Seafood to the isles and the parking lot, has all been redone. The shopping carts don’t squeak, yet, and the self-checkout registers are plentiful. But that doesn’t mean this grocery store has addressed everything. The first thing is a difference between the newly renovated Market 32’s, with this one not having an electric vehicle charging station. They have it in Schenectady, they have it in Malta, but here they don’t. I’ve even inquired into the instillation of a station, and have been told that it was not a part of the renovation plans. Now I get that there is an EV station down the street in front of Target, but you’d think Market 32 would want to attract the same business that station brings to Target and the plaza it resides in to their store and plaza. Right now there’s still plenty of reimbursement deals on the table for businesses that install one of the charging stations, but I can guarantee you that those deals won’t last. The second thing is the service. Customer service is a top priority when it comes to a grocery store, but I just never get the feeling that anyone who works here wants to be here. I’m not saying that they are outright rude, but there’s no pep in their step or energy behind their smiles. It’s kind of sad really. At Wegmans there was always a warmth to the employees, like they were a family. But here it just feels like everyone is just biding their time until they can find the next job, often appearing depressed, tired, and annoyed. Now I get it, I’ve worked in the food service industry before, but at least fake it for the sake of the customer.Overall this overhauled location for your grocery needs is still an excellent choice, with plenty of deals, a pretty streamlined system of checkout, good turn around on stock, and a new deli section that has some good selections (every now and then). It’s still more friendly than the poor sods working at Walmart, and it’s never as crowded.
Ordered 6 ft Italian sub, too much bread and very little, not very good quality cold cuts. 15 wraps different filling, buffalo chicken and chicken Caesar made with chicken roll. Too much wrap, not enough meat. Basically really horrible. I thought Market 32 was an upgrade. I will never order anything from their deli department again. This order was to feed people coming to help set up for my sons wedding happening on our farm tomorrow. Over a $100 wasted!
We ordered pizza for concessions at a basketball game. They burned all 5 pizzas that were ordered and the order wasnt even correct. I was given an attitude when I said I didnt want them and asked that they redo the order. Second time, still burnt and they made only 4 pizzas, not 5.
Worst place ever! They changed theyre store around to make it look more like a gourmet store with over priced garbage that no one in this area can afford and the staff at the service desk needs a job where she doesnt have to work in retail because shes terrible at customer service! I used to love going to market 32 / price chopper but now I wont even step foot in that place if they paid me! If I could give them less than 1 star I would .
Long wait in line. Expensive. Had to bag our own groceries. Teenaged cashiers think their job is so hard. Would rather go to aldi where theyre fast, prices are rock bottom and the cashiers know what real work is. And no I dont work at aldi.Only go to other grocery stores to get what they dont have at aldi like Philadelphia cream cheese for example.
The overnight girl with the orange pink crazy looking hair is too lazy to work the over night shift she always has her friends there and has customers waiting to check out for 10 minutes while she chats away with her friends. Go to Walmart insteadThe bakery sucks. I asked when a specific employee was working because ive had her make numerous cakes for my kids birthdays... I was told a complete lie and wasted my time going there just to be told she wasnt working that day when I was told the day before that she was. So I said oh well i will just have to place my order since my sons birthday party is almost a month away now. There was at least 3 people working at the bakery and not one had the decency to help me. i stood there like an idiot for almost 10 minutes until I decided to leave and go to walmart to order the cake. I would much rather give my money to people competent enough to provide me with customer service when im clearly standing there for a reason. The idiots at the bakery in price chopper kept looking at me but couldnt take my order. i dont want morons like that making a cake for my childs birthday.
Theres an interesting selection here, things that I cant get at Hannaford, but more often than not Market32 (recently rebrands from Price Chppper) is more exspensive than the other stores in the area. I view it as a specialty store, where I can get ingredients I cant find at the other stores. I buy the staples at other places.
I have become increasingly dissatisfied with Price Chopper. They have been running sales on items which are out of stock by mid-week. If you want a rain check, wait in line. Im sure theyll say it is because of store remodeling, but I have my doubts. It is also very frustrating to read the very small print in their ads and on store shelves that requires multiple items to be purchased to get sale prices. Yesterday, I picked up a pack of packaged chicken that was rancid. It was difficult to get the smell off my hands and clothing. I admit this is unusual, but these circumstances make me very reluctant to shop there.
I shop at Price Chopper regularly, but I will never be back to this place. EXTREMELY rude employees and managers. They NEVER have the items that are on sale, sometimes they dont even carry them... supposedly they just refurbished this store, but it is so dirty, no one would know. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
😂😂😂 Was rung out by Money L. Great service! 😂😂😂 Updated: getting rang out now by his brother Bank L. Im actually dying 😂😂😂 🔥🔥🔥 5 star service. Update: karma has finally made its way back to me, as I am sick as a dog and actually dying now. My apologies Mr. Money and Mr. Bank L. Keep up the good work and do price chopper proud 🤒🤒🤒
The isle signs are small and set in so ypu have to wander more along with there positioning of products for you tp spend increased store time is really unappealing .hearing many of these complaints as well as myself...im noticing more traffic at Hannaford now for simplistic reasons ..also i notice pricing is more expensive in urban and poor areas ...check weepy fliers for proof...last thing is they will not send out replacement gas cards untill you points expire and I found in some cases never..
I appreciate Price Choppers efforts to carry more organic foods, especially fresh fruits & vegetables, eggs, grass fed beef, & those organic products offered through their Central Market line. I have been able to cut down on my trips to certain stores in Albany to obtain these products, which is an awesome thing!
A supermarket chain with great variety the problem is their Associates teammates employees whatever you want to call him seem to be understaffed overworked when you spend a couple hundred dollars on groceries the least you should get us a hey thank you for shopping with us.

2022-04-23I Disliked this particular experience I had on April 22 and thats unfortunate because this is a store I frequent often and otherwise love and most of its employees are really nice to me but on the 22nd of April, I ran into a problem with a Matt Aldi who was a team leader on duty that night, the young man was very assertive he tryed to take over a conversation that was going well with me and a different manager, I was in an aggravated state because of a department employee who refused to have a slice of fish cut and weighed and the front end team leader was very kind to me and assured me she would handle the situation and that there shouldnt be a problem, I continued to tell her thank you that this was a service I was provided multiple times in the past before at that department and I went on to tell her that the girl who refused me service was very kind to me but she just didnt seem to want to do her Job, Ive never had this problem before, I thought the problem was solved but within a few minutes another team leader showed up by the name of Matt Aldi and inturupted and said no we cant cut the fish because its special and I went on to say thats strange because I have had it cut several times b4 this incident, needless to say the first manager was going ahead and having it done for me and the other manager became extremely assertive, just seemed like he was enjoying refusing me service, and enjoyed having and expressing dominance over the situation, I walked away b4 the situation became to escalated. Weather I was right or wrong in this situation I would say this is a wonderful store but try to avoid the team leader named Matt Aldi and any employee who seems lazy or unwilling to assist you because he definitely is not afraid to make you feel unwelcome in the store on the nights hes in charge. Long story short I wanted a piece of fish that they keep thawed on top of the Ice cut to a smaller size which usually isnt a problem and Ive had done before but for what ever reason on this day I was refused service in a way that I felt was just a little rude.

2022-01-23After a crazy week, I was finally able to get to Price chopper in Amsterdam, NY to get my groceries. I got there at about 8:45 pm not because I plan my shopping at that time but because that is the earliest my schedule allowed me to get there this week. At 9:50 I made it to the cash register with an over flowing cart to find that there was just one girl at the self service registers directing everyone. No registers open, just self serve. I had 4 bags with me, no bags on the self serve counter and a very small area on which to do all of these groceries, that I am positive would not have fit back into one cart. While I was shopping, there was a cleaner using a big machine to wash floors around customers, there was an employee walking up the isle yelling that he deserves more pay, but they cant put people on the register. I was not able to make it work so that I could get all of that back out of my cart, scanned, into bags and to my truck. Consequently, I left my cart, cried all the way home and NO GROCERIES, NO HOME CARE products. Probably saved 500$, but now I need to figure out when I can go and start all over. Businesses need to provide the service they are there to provide. If you cant get enough employees to cover the shifts, then the shifts might need to be changed so that the ones that you do have are adequately staffed to the quality I am sure you would hope to have.

2021-12-12I needed Gluten Free cookies, I asked if they had them and she said yes right there in the case with in big letters Gluten Free. Great so I grab about 4 containers. Well when I get to the party I was told that they WEREN’T GLUTEN FREE! just sugar free. So be careful with buying from there Gluten Free products from there. I was very disappointed!!

2022-03-06You can tell a lot about the maintenance of a business by looking at the rest room. Fixtures that you know have been broken for a long time are not a good sign. Inattention to detail shows. Otherwise the store is average for a market 32.
