Market 32 in other cities:
I usually go here after work or shopping at the malls. This stores the closest Price Chopper to my house. They used to have my Oregon Chai Tea Powder, but lately its been hit or miss...mostly a miss. (And this store has been discontinuing a few of my old favorites right and left!!! Bring nack the Single Gold Peak Green Ice Tea!!!) They are also making a lot of changes lately too, which is good thing...I guess. Its a just a bit hard to get used to. But I guess thats progress!!!
My boyfriend and myself went to Price Chopper evening on 11/09/2021. We needed cheese. The first thing we notice that the line was long when we already were in the milk section of the market. We then look for cheeese in the cheese isle. Due to not have American cheese we decide to get cheese from the deli. The line was still long but we decided to still wait. There was 4 people in front of us. We stood in line over a half hour/30 min or more. The one worker had her green hair pullback but most of the side were out and neither of the two workers had a hair net. That’s was my first concern. As we are watching the worker with the green hair touched her mask by her nose area(a pink mask) with her gloves on. She proceeded to come around the meat glass case and touch and open the glass case from the out side where you can see had finger prints on it. She never changed her gloves as she proceeded to cut the customers cheese and holding it up for her to view. The other worker came out and did the same without changing her gloves. This is so unsanitary and to be honest disgusting. I know this can take some time if someone is getting more that one item. She was slow like she was doing it on purpose. We stood in line 10 more minutes till we decided this area is not clean and we left.
First time here. I didnt do any shopping. I was only there for the pharmacy for covid booster. I waited a half hour for my appointment, not sure why, didnt seem busy The next person went right after me on time. Had to fill out forms on line and then they made me so them all over again which is stupid IMO.
All the store employees go out of their way to help when ever you need it!As of mid January 22 you just might! That is because Golub is in the process of transitioning this store from a regular Price Chopper to a full blown Market32.For instance, the bread aisle is now on the complete opposite side of the store. Near fruit and produce. I guess they consider part of their bakery department now. Many other changes, not as drastic, as well.
I Googled Market 32s hour of operation and found out it was open until 12 am. I was so happy because my youngest son developed a heat rash that night and his skin is extremely sensitive. So I hurry over to the supermarket, walk right in and start shopping for benadryl and hydrocortisone cream to help my little guy at home. After I was all done getting the things I needed, I proceeded to a check out. By this time other people started coming into the store to shop as well. We were greeted by a gentleman who started explaining the store actually closed at 11 and we wouldnt be able to checkout. This was extremely disappointing given my situation at home. So as I was relating how I felt about the website not being updated and being able to just walk through the door like the establishment is open isnt right. So as myself and the gentleman are having a normal conversation another man pops out of somewhere swinging his arms speaking very Obnoxious to me and the other customers. Sarcastically say Covid ya know.
Very poor attitude from employee,I was parked in an area to which unknown to me,was designated for those that arranged to have their groceries loaded for them and was told that the next time,Id be towed for parking there,my question is...how did she know I wasnt a customer using that same function...will NOT be going back to that store...very poor customer service...VERY POOR!!🤬
My first time ever shopping at Price Chopper. Very bright spacious store. Meat department had a lot of good selections to choose from. The lady at the deli was extra friendly and graciously did my orders. No problems checking out. Recycling on site! This location makes me feel appreciated. Ill shop there again.
Typical grocery chain. Sometimes they have good deals, but you must find them. Their pizza take out with loads of toppings is unbeatable. My wife likes this store the most because she can find everything easily. I cant really say anything bad about Price Chopper. Their fresh meats are somewhat better quality than other markets, which why we remain loyal.
I generally have favorable things to say about Price chopper-Market 32 including this store on Altamont Avenue. However a couple of things have been bothering me over the last several months. This store does not have enough self-checkout registers. There should be at least 2-4 more and better queuing. Also I dont understand why you no longer have the small red carry baskets and thirdly, with the little red baskets gone you do not have enough of the smaller push carts. They are nowhere to be found. There used to be more of them around prior to covid-19 and for some reason there just arent any. Most people dont need a large cart when a smaller one will do. Thank you I hope these will be addressed.
I live near a small Price Chopper. I went to the store on Altamont Ave it was fabulous its giant its clean its people are thereto help you I had a wonderful experience I think Im just going to drive that little extra distance and go to that Price Chopper in the future
We regularly go to this Price Chopper for our Market needs. Its always spotless, shelves organized, employees able to be found when/if you need them and the workers behind behind the deli are always kind, patient & very friendly. This location in particular, Ive also noticed, is wonderful with families and children. We will definitely continue to make this our primary market! Thanks to everyone there who makes it an enjoyable experience EVERY time we go! Keep up the excellent work guys!!!!
This is our local supermarket and it has everything we need for a typical shopping trip. Always has good and fresh produce, and a good meat selection. We tend to only buy meat and other items when they are on sale, just because the prices tend to be on the expensive side. Also, avoid the store if you can on Sunday afternoon, it is a madhouse and you have to wait in line for a while, even at the self scan.
Since the virus the cashiers are horrible. They are slow, they dont want to bag any of the groceries and when they do they want to fill them with all heavy stuff in one bag. I said to one of the cashiers I guess you never went shopping before. The lines have been long and slow. I think Im going to start shopping at hannaford a little more often.
Clean store and clear aisles. Always friendly and helpful associates.Unfortunately when I went into the mens room, both sinks were backed up and there was water all over the floor. I told an associate and was pleased to see someone with a mop and bucket in the rest room before I left.
Friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable staff! The store manager Jim can be seen walking the floors and personally taking care of customers. Produce is always fresh with a wide variety to choose from. The only thing that stops me from giving this store a five star rating is that I have personally seen what is thrown away as waste and it is a massive amount of food!
It was super busy in the food court area. I was hoping to have a sub for lunch and when I wanted was unavailable. I asked Scott if there was any in the back. He checked and there were not. He made me my 3 subs. He was insanely busy but had a positive attitude towards me. I felt horrible asking because I saw how busy he was. Scott did an amazing job.
HORRIBLE experience, seems worse every time I come. Thought I could beat the crowd at 8:30am mobs of people wandering ever which way in aisles.A single long line stretched the length of the pasta aisle for self check out. Seems like every one brought full carts to self check out, and have no clue how to use the machines. Meanwhile, waiting in the aisle with my 5 items, there is NO WAY to social distance with line-waiters and pasta-shoppers bumping into each other. If the line at customer service wasnt so long, I would have asked to speak to the store manager.Hannaford Shopper from now ln.
Price Chopper has consistently provided excellent quality merchandise and service. Their store brands compare very well to the major brands and are usually less costly. The in-store bakery, food court and pharmacy are very convenient and add to the shopping experience.
I think bags should be placed at each of the self checkout stations. I dont mind paying for them. Just put them there so that theyre convenient like they do what Hannaford. Whenever I go to price chopper I rarely find handheld baskets. In contrast I always find them at Hannaford. I find that Hannaford is much more thoughtful to its customers in this regard. That is why I am shopping there more often.
Way over priced. Theyll have a few good bargains to get you in the door and then you pay a fortune. Produce is beautifully clean though. If you want to be able to buy everything you need in one place then it may all be worth the high prices. Seriously though, Wal-Marts prices are cheaper than most of Price Choppers sale items. If you go to a discount store like Aldi or Price Rite, youll get twice as much food for your money.
This store doesnt have a sanitizing station for your carts. They only had a broken hand sanitizer bottle. With times like they are they should those options available. Will not shop this store again! Walmart and Hannaford, down the street, have santizer wipes available right next to the carts so you can sanitize it before actually touching the cart.
Yesterday Price Chopper Altamont Ave. delivered a floral arrangement to Duanesburg for me. Heather at the Floral department did a gorgeous job. She copied an arrangement on line and did a wonderful job. Heather has made seven or so arrangements for me and each one was exquisite. It is so convenient to call her to order flowers when I cant make it to the store. I would recommend Price Chopper Altamont Ave. floral department to everyone who wants to send love and beauty.
This store is extremely poorly ran. The Management staff can’t even set an ad properly, meaning that many times they are out of stock or worst yet never received the merchandise even on or after the Sunday the flyer breaks. Our last and final time we aver shopped at this store was a very unpleasant experience. I feel bad to send only because I’ve met Mr. Golub many times over the past 30 years and know many employees of Price Chopper, but I’ve had enough of bad service from this staff. On 2/4/19 we were there and mostly came in to buy the bumble bee albacore tuna that was on sale $10/10. The shelves were empty and so were the end caps, my wife has searched and searched for someone to ask and found no one, so while at the deli counter I finally saw a man with glasses, a beard and had a noticeable limp and I the only part of his name tag I could get was his first name stated with a J I think. He was very rude and argued with me and talked to like I was stupid and all I asked was if he would substitute another albacore, he said NO and just made silly excuses of why he didn’t get it in stock. First of all there was no disclaimer anywhere in the store, secondly I have been a Store Manager in retail since the mid 1980’s so he messed with the wrong customer. The worst part of the whole thing and what really burned me up was that when we left the Store Manager Jim was standing up front with the same man that wouldn’t help us, just goofing off with some other employees, HELLO, where is the customer service. Since he has been the Manager I have never seen him help a customer. That was the last time we will EVER shop their,if we must get something from Price Chopper then we’ll go to Eastern PW, or Nisky store.I had just gotten out the Hospital for a Heart condition on Sunday night, the last thing I needed was to be stressed out, thanks a lot. We still spent $78 that day and was there two times the previous week, should of just left the groceries and walked out.
The cashier in self check is slow to respond, with a front end mgr by here I tried to ask a question they walked right by m ef disabled and all.. so I had to raise my voice a little not yelling by loud enough to apparently wake them up, finally after waiting for th hem TV hey answered my question. Self ch ef co out is a joke at the Rotterdam store it needs more direction and guidance to TV wo isles of ppl arent trying th o merge I to one while custo.ets are getting grouchy about it we the customers had made a deal to one o. One between each isle with th hd elderly and vets going ffc first that I a.c the job o FCC th ed cashier and especially the front end supervisor to help coordinate th ef proper lies as descliate any problems we the customers are waiting on our w-2s cause apparently Pricr Chopper thinks its ok for ppl to self solve two lanes of ppl, they can mark the floors with directions how abou th proper lanes area for self check so no error as to from a customers to customer possible escalations werent even played attention too.. Disrespectful at least to say th ef store Mgr, needs to be aware, assess, and resolve a problem without customers possibly having words, this is th he job of the Managment to do to ease our experience not for us the customers having to do the job of workers, with COVID-19, AND SOCIAL DISTANCINGTHOS IS ONLY ON ERR OF THE PROBLEMS AT THIS STORE As well The directions on the floor are a joke the own employees Ive watched NOT EVEN FOLLOW THEIR OWN RULES SO WHY AS A CUSTOMER SHOULD WE. IF WE GET NO RESPECT WHY SHOULD IT NE GIVEN... NEIL GOLUB SHOULD B EF MADE AWARE OF THESE ISSUES SO IT IS EXPEDITED THE SITUATION HOPEFULLY BETTER OF THE CEO, GRTS INVOLVED WALK YOU RT OWN STORES WITHOUT TELLIMG MANAGEMENT THAT YOUR COMIMG YOULL SEE THE REAL WAY YOUR STORE ARE BEING RUN SO PLAC ERR S ITS A JOKE... NEIL HELP US CUSTOMERS WE ARE READY TO SHOP AG A COMPLETE DIFFERENT COMPEDITOR IF THIMGS LIKE THESE ARENT RESOLVED...THANL YOU FOR YOUR TY IME
They have the most organized Gluten Free selection with plenty to choose from, unlike other Price Choppers in the area. The butchers department has the freshest, best tasting Slab Bacon, unlike the other Price Choppers in the area, although some of the meat dept staff are far from pleasant and need customer service training. The older white man with glasses needs a refresher course on food handling. He didnt change his bleach water covered gloves when serving me my food one evening. Most the staff is friendly and the store appears to be very clean. The Deli could use staff that moves a little quicker too.
This is a great grocery store with great prices, so I guess it lives up to its name nicely. The few times that ive come here for food items that ive needed it never disappointed. Its pretty large for a grocery store with a wide selections of grocery and miscellaneous products. In addition, if has a florist, seafood, meat, and bakery section where you can find them all mostly at the back. My favorite section of all however is the sushi section! I always find a great selection of sushi there at a decent price and the guy(s) there that makes it is good, and nice too. Its always fresh and tastes great for store-bought sushi. This is definitely one of my favorite grocery stores Ive been too and I highly recommend.
Somethings wrong when the Rotterdam Price Chopper charges $2.99 for a head of lettuce when the Price Chopper in Guilderland charges $2.49. Really!!! During Covid with some families out of work plus your location is still outdated and you charge more than the PC Market in Guilderland. Another mismanaged location.
Stopped by to pick up a few things. Were treated very well and a special THANK YOU TO JIM the Store Manager he is very polite and helpful. Also to LESLIE She has been there for years and She is very Curteous and knows what she is doing at all times. Both LESLIE AND JIM DESERVE 5 STARS.
The folks behind the customer service area seem like courteous people, however everything else in the store is...meh: specials last for only a short period of time on good quality products, and then back to steep pricing on almost all of them (actually a 3.5 star rating).
A s a former employee, I will never shop here again. I came in for a pre-made salad. I was not paying attention and noticed all the lettuce was brown! I went back to get another one and they were all like that. I asked the gentleman in the food court if they had any fresh ones in the back and they were all brown. He didnt even pull the other ones off the shelf! They must take pride in selling garbage!!
Pizza department were very rude their were 4 customers in line and the worker did not even look at us only thrown pizzas in the trash and kept shaking her head only to call out another working which he came to the register and was RUDE did not say nothing at all seem very annoyed I mean come on customers first right??? This took place on 3.26 and approx 1245pm I get some people have their days but come on too early in the day to be cranky and rude especially to customers who were just standing there waiting to be ran out!
Stood at a self checkout for 15 minutes while the person working kept trying to get the attention of a supervisor (who was busy chit chatting across the store) everytime the machine stopped working, which it did every few seconds. I watched all the other machines have issues and repeat the same cycle while a line started forming. If this was a first time thing itd be one thing, but between super long lines all times of the day and broken machines/lacking customer service Ill take my business elsewhere.
I live in Woodlawn so I usually shop at the Mohawk Commons Price Chopper, their always out of everything, I shop late because of my age and health, 1 day at about 6:30pm I stopped at the Altomont ave price chopper and was able to get everything I need, from now on even after this Pandemic, this is my store, its a ways farther but worth it
Love Price Chopper except, hate when Im trying to buy produce and No bags anywhere! Please refill thoseDispensers. Also, empty space in the produce area and I have to ASK an associate if there is any in the back! Usually there Is! You will Not sell PRODUCT if its in the back! Restock that space!!!
I was standing there waiting to have a sandwich made an employee was standing there holding a box for 3 minutes I asked if he can make me a sandwich he said it would be over 20 minutes before he is able to do it. What happened to the customers always right and the fact that there was nobody else there waiting
Yesterday I bought five large packages of chicken which smelled like ass...six months ago I noticed the same thing. I have also purchased rancid meat getting jet powered diarrhea. ..spoiled veggies however that seems better than it was. I have lived here for 56 years minus the USMC And its awful now .I wanted to buy A-1 sauce OVER SIX FIFTY! !!!! Only $3.99 down the street. .Thomas English muffins over Four dollars! 2 bucks down the street. There is no excuse the warehouse is closer than any other store but the Bistro has wonderful quality hmmm.So they decided Rotterdam people are worthless? Only market 32 gets quality? I used to spend 800 a month sometimes not anymore .Golub get right or get left! Wish I had the thousands I wasted back!
Got here at 915am to pick up 2 scripts due today - was told system is doing updates will be at least 20 minutes - sorry cant do anything about it !!!! Worked for 20 years at the Senate - if I would have said sorry cant give u what is due u because of computer issues I would have been fired !!!! Changing to CVS immediately !!!! Deli is always slow here lines always long !!!! Dont come here

2022-03-06We have been a customer for decades, they are changing over to Market 32 and it has been a struggle to learn where things are. I realize it will take awhile but for instance Friday Fish Dinner to Go fried while waiting is just about the best you could ask for, I should have given 5 stars for that alone. Also the ladies in charge at the self service aisle are patient and do a first rate job no matter how I screw it up when checking out. Look out for their flyer some prices are hard to beat.

2022-02-22Unfortunately after many years of shopping here at this Price chopper market 32 this business has gone downhill and many of the employees are not very kind, they are allowing people to push shopping carts full of stolen goods right out the front door between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. and when speaking to the managers on several occasions they say they already know about it and dont care and are looking quickly to hang up with you, calls have been put through to corporate to look into this issue as well. When speaking to the managers also about the shopping carts 4 in total in this case that are building up in certain areas they say that they may try to find somebody to come get them and then never do, it seems that the management is very very bad and long time embedded and in order to get positive change the management needs to change as this is not the first time having issues with the managers in this particular location in Rotterdam altamont avenue store and most of the time appear to have attitudes.

2022-06-27Great product great selection prices are definitely hiked. Even when theres an advantage cell youre basically paying what you should pay for the item. However they do have wonderful cold cuts and great meat selection as well as fish.

2022-06-05I’m not sure if this post will make a difference but it’s a start and worth a try. Please hire workers especially cashiers that will be fair and treat everyone with the same respect and dignity. I find it odd that certain cashiers will only make it out their way to greet customers who they feel is worthy of greeting. My cashier today was so rude to me..keep in mind he wasn’t that way to the lady in front of me. Also the bagger that was helping him was just as worse. I work hard for my money and when I shop I want to know I will be treated the same way as all the other customers. Not a great feeling, do better!

2022-06-20I really like the renovation to this Market 32. Friendly clerks and helpful, especially when I cant find an item! They always ask if I need help with taking groceries to my car, and are so nice about doing it.

2021-12-30I had one of the most delightful experiences recently while shopping at price chopper. I was helped by a beautiful pixie with white hair that made my day just that much brighter even though it was dreary and raining. She couldnt have come along at a more perfect moment. I got some discounts on cheese too

2022-06-18I feel like despite the remodel, there is now less of a selection than prior years.

2020-09-15I work at Price Chopper for 13 years. When I work there, I now do notice on its muzak system, it plays the 1970s music especially, the 70s songs that I do remember hearing when I was a child and teenager (e.g., when I grew up) around my time. The food court is now reopen, but it is still off-limits to associates, but for customers only with every other booth open to promote social distancing. Price Chopper on Altamont Avenue now has a section that they remodeled located next to the food court where you can buy food and eat it there or you can take it home which opened on July 13, 2020 which is called foodfare where they have a selection of Pizza, Chicken, soups, subs, sandwiches, salads, already-made dinners, and sushi like what these photos show.

2022-03-07I’m not sure if it’s due to the remodeling but they never have anything in there I can’t find produce or anything when it needed. I’m not sure why keep something open when you only have half of the products that a house would need. Then when you ask for help it’s hard to actually have someone do their job.
