Marshalls in other cities:
There was no escalator service and Im recovering from a procedure so I had to walk to escalator and the elevators were overcrowded they didnt have sufficient shopping bags for huge purchases they offered to put my purchases they offered to put my purchases in a trash bag!
This is my go to Marshalls. They have way more options than any of the nearby stores. I live for their candle and home decor sections. Its relatively well organized and clean. Their bathroom is always available to customers- which can unfortunately be hit or miss in Harlem. The store staff can be very friendly. The only draw back is their security guards. These guys alternate between lethargic and overly aggressive. Overall, its great if you dont mind the very occasional drama with irritated customers and security.
One of the best MarshallsIve been in a lot of them but this ones is well organized, well balance (talking about the sections and the products they offer for the whole family)The custumer service was great even the people that shop there were super nice and polite definitely Ill be back
It was much better than i expected. It was bigger and looked properly managed by the staff working there. It has both elevators and escalators. So i am guessing its wheelchair accessible. The only reason i am taking a star off is because there was only one cashier and it look a long time to checkout the stuff.
I came in to shop I do so regularly, upon arrival at ladies room I was met by an employee called juan A,, barely speaks English, in addition is very very rude . Disrespectful I hope the owner has an informed conversation with this apparent animal his manners are as such. A most horrible customer experience, encounter.
Nice place with plenty of options for the customer. I was able to find everything I needed and more. They got everything from clothes to office supplies which is decent for an all in one store. Only thing was that there was some trash on the store merchandise including inside some of the mugs I was looking at. One of the escalators wasn’t working which didn’t bother me really but is something to point out. Stop by and look around; they probably got what your looking for.
Oh yeah, once you get to Marshall by seeing the prices of everything you get sooo excited and start shopping and shopping and shopping because their so cheap and furthermore, they have good quality items. Therefore, Marshall is the best place to shops down you won’t regret it!!!👍🏼
Every time I come into the store it is nothing but issues I went ahead and I buy several items and Im being looked at under a heavy microscope based upon whatever reasoning management feels and they feel that Im going to steal something although get ready to call the police and try to figure out what is my motive or I mean I dont look like a bad person so I dont understand why theyre doing that but they have been condescending they have you know whisper things behind my back I do not like this store Id rather you guys go across the street to Burlington Coat Factory than to ever have to deal with the people they are at Marshalls It is a long line and their system sucks
Spectator Showcase every floor in Marshall is organized with amazing Customer Service. The product are will organized throughout the store, excellent quality. Thank You Harlem Marshall store felt like shopping on 5th Avenue in Lord &Taylor great quality and wonderful prices. Season Greetings Everyone Happiness is a Vibes!🎄♥️💃🏾🌻💃🏾🎄
Well organized, clean cashiers quick floor manager is not just standing around. He is greeting everyone that comes upstairs. Very refreshing to see. Prices are good as always. Nothing is out of order. Theres no waiting line moves no chatting . Would you like to apply for the card no! Let move on. I like it. Ill be back.
I was trying to get helped, but the staff stocking the shelves ignored me. I was asking her if they have a price checker on the wall, but she acted like she didnt hear me. I went to browse with a friend. She was buying a makeup case. We went to use the bathroom to find clogged toilets, and the female security officer said dont use the restroom because someone was going to clean it, but no one came. She kept laughing, and I came to the conclusion that she was the one who bombed it. I left the horrid loo, and was able find some French coffee at check out. I hope it is a better experience than my trip to Marshalls. I hope they improve this store. I use to be nicer, and dont know what happened.
Excellent staff. They were very polite when I asked for help on merchandise. I was shocked on how organized everything was on the racks. I love it! After visiting several other Marshalls in Brooklyn. the one in 125 St in Manhattan, shows more organization on every aspect. Thank you guys. Keep it up!!!!
Shopping experience was great due to the Bedding area being so very organized and neat. Compared to the Marshall store(1299) at 179th which is a complete bombshell. My sister and I got what we needed was able to look around then checkout quickly, only and exchange of sheets.
Todays visit wasnt a pleasant one. The store ran out of big bags, which was causing customers to put back bulk items. Fortunately for me the person i was with was very persistent in asking the manager to find us one or two for the 4 pillows and 2 fleece blankets we were purchasing. I hope this doesnt happen again.
They suck now. They use to have better clothes & footwear. I dont know who the store buyer is but they are not good any longer. All of the Marshall stores are bad now. It looks like a salvation army store now. Not that I have anything against the salvation army. But there selection of clothes & shoes are horrible.
Who doesnt want the Max for a minimum..... Sorry...Nice sale section. Very friendly staff. Especially outside of the dressing area. The woman wasnt trying to determine if I was going to steal anything we had a very pleasant conversation and because of that I went and picked out 2 more shirts to buy, (I seriously did that.) I will shop at that Marshalls again
If your looking for plenty of empty racks, not much to choose from, and drug addicts everywhere then this is the place for you. You are sure to get the entire 125th street experience right here. Its not Marshalls fault that this area is the way it is. They have other locations to choose from.
Went looking for specific Gummy Bears(Proseco and Rose) and ended up picking up a few other things. Also looked in the baby section for some cute clothing for when my New Niece arrives in June.Marshalls has a lot of nice things but a word of advice: if u see it and like it buy it! cause I guarantee it will not be there the next time u visit.
The line is so long for the registers that you dont want to browse for fear you find something you would want to make you get in line. Its no less than 50 people long and no cashiers to allieceiate. They need to do something or close up shop. Whats the point of shopping there if its 3 hours to buy a shirt... Management needs to get a clue and a hiring manager who knows how to hire a cashier or 50 of them and someone who can properly schedule their staff...
Big and spacious this Marshalls has everything. Great selection lots of choices and most of all it doesnt look like everything is ravaged or picked over like in most Marshalls. Its bright and clean and they have plenty of people to help you out with customer service needs. I will shop here again for sure.
I was harassed by one of the female workers here, I was trying to change my clothes privately in the bathroom and the worker embarrassingly left the door wide open, The experience at the store and I even went to talk to the manager who had burgundy hair and she was unapologetic, unsympathetic, she related me to being homeless don’t shop here unless you want to be treated rudely and without respect entire experience was degrading
I am not giving it 4stars because I use to work for the company years ago but this particular site has made dramatic changes. Everything was accessible by size nothing was on the floor and even though the line was long it went fast because they always have cashiers doing their jobs ...great work 125th st team. I didnt give it a 5 because of the visuals wasnt appealing the way items were displayed
I bought a clearance item and neglected to look in the box for the right pair. When arriving home I realized I got duped. Should have looked first. Also counterperson was not pleasant upon my checkout. Im more embarrassed than anything else because I never shop at Marshalls. I find there merchandise to be an inferior products. You get what you pay for.
I shop at this Marshalls, somewhat, frequently . The set up is a little disarrayed according to certain departments, especially the mens section. Ones size is usually all over the place. The bedding section is cheap, you get what you pay for. What I dislike is the what-not queue area, the line you have to go through before you get the cashiers. Staff is usually friendly. Security is tight, you can see and feel them staring you down. This morning at 10 AM when I went to shop was not crowded at all so theres no waiting in the queue line for very long.
The line its overwelming.. 16 cashiers open and still took over 15 min to pay and leave. Otjer than that lots of options and brands to choose from. If it wasnt for the time online it would habe been 5*. I guess is either the price or the service. Cant get so perfect for such a pricess.
Looks horrible in this store. Can never kind what Im looking for. This store is pretty disgusting. Dirty looking store with nasty staff. You cant ask for help in here because theyll be mad that you asked. The managers dont seem to really care also. Just another reason why I dont shop on 125th. Things will never change in this area. No matter how you try to fix it up. 👎👎👎👎👎
Listen I love Marshalls, TJMAXX and Burlington in that order. Great place to find things you actually need and want at great prices. Store is a little messy mid day. But its a discount store, I wouldnt expect anything less. Besides who cares about customer service these days. Isnt that why we sacrifice brick and mortar stores for the internet???
The store is getting worse .The escalator dont work ,elevator dont work .We had to travel through the stock room,to get downstairs .How much peace do one need traveling on a field trip in marshalls stock room 😱I came to shop .Some items dont have tags ,but the is in alot of stores .I will never shop there again .Until my next review stay peaceful while shopping
Today 1/9/20, while attempting to do some shopping and use their facilities, I was informed by notice, on 2nd floor elevator is Out of Order, I’m unable to use escalator as my Walker will not allow me safely to use it I then spoke with several staff members who informed me since that also, elevator going from 2nd to 3rd floor was out of order. Spoke with a staff member Pedro who again with the female staff informed me “freight” elevator is also Out of Order, a gentleman who described himself as Gary, the manager, again informed me elevator out of order, threw up his hands while walking away, stated, “I could call whomever I wanted and he’ll tell the same!! I do understand their dilemma, it was just the cold, callous and unfeeling way he spoke to me. Stating since I couldn’t use escalator, well, it’s nothing he can do and walked away, again repeating, it’s nothing I can do about it. Smh No kindness at all!!!Just cold and callous...Is that par for the course???
Marshalls is a great place to shop however the discouragement you get when going to pay is unexplainable. The lack of management in the store is out of this world. Waiting more than 1hr to purchase 3 items for my daughter. I client leave because she really whanted her clothes. I just hpung the corporate office takes the time to analyze their management. The lines are rediculouse. And its sad to see this kind of service, even if not spending a lot of money. Hoping this will Change in the near future.
Several things.First, do we really need Marshalls, Burlington Coat Factory, and TJ Maxx all within a two block stretch of 125th Street? They are literally the same, exact store. Its freaky. And it feels like a botched government-developer planned gentrification of commercial spaces that used to house small black owned businesses. They are pretty much centered on Martin Luther King Blvd and Malcolm X Blvd. This is one of the largest black owned small business districts in the nation, and probably the most symbolically important. Precious few such districts exist. Unlike other ethnic groups, whose small businesses commonly proliferate in cities across America, Black Americans have a different experience -- one without an international trading center back home to develop an import/export based, culturally specific niche in business. So 125th Street is important. Too important for three oversized, identical stores like Marshalls displacing the smaller businesses that existed before there.Second, I have never actually made it through the line. Are they serious?: I have actually spent an hour or two in there before, picking over various synthetic woven shirts and underwear (good luck finding a medium anything), winding back to the home section and finding a set of reasonably priced sheets and maybe some towels, and then whats that?! a really great deal on a casserole dish? Throw it in the cart. Feeling pretty good about my savvy shopping, I make my way through the suburban sized aisles back to the check out and then my jaw drops. The line is ridiculously long, full of others who have filled their carts with all sorts of off-sized, synthetic, and generally unnecessary wares that I have. Oh, but then the other shoe drops. That wasnt the whole line, because it winds around three times before you get to the actual checkout, as if you were in line for a popular roller coaster at an amusement park. Unamused, I invariably abandon my shopping cart at this point and stay away until the experience fades long enough from my memory that I repeat the same mistake.
Ok. I issued the two stars instead of one because my experience was not affected by the quality of product ot a bad encounter but rather their restroom area. It was beyond disgusting. The maintenance worker went in to clean it and a few women, myself included walked in after he had finished. The first stall was atrocious. There was feces everywhere and he refused to clean it. The second stall had no lock on the door. I can only imagine what was in the third stall. God bless the girl who went in. Marshalls please spend a few bucks and get that door fixed.
I have a love & hate relationship with this Marshalls because its always so packed. The lines are crazy long. However, they have a better selection of clothes and home good items than their other Marshalls locations on 116th street and the one at Bronx Terminal mall on 145th street. If you see something marked with a red sticker, that is the time to buy because its the lowest price and if you return for it, itll most likely be gone. All in all, its an ok store when inventory is up.
Too crowded ...not clean and horrible customer service. I barely could find someone on the floor to help me. Then when i did find a Marshall Associate He acted as if he either didnt know or didnt care!! This location in Harlem they just dont give a damn unfortunately.
I been shopping at this location for a long time and the only problem i have is that they need more cashiers, the line is always extremely long while there is 3 or 4 cashiers working. Its bad for business because half of the time I leave the line along with other customers. Need to hire cashier.
Marshalls in the City tend to be less well maintained than those in the suburbs. This one is no exception; although it is generally easy to find things, sometimes the store can be quite messy. Coming here is always a hit or miss. If you are coming for something extremely specific (like luggage) you have a good chance of finding it as opposed to looking for something general like clothing.
I love this marshall has two floors helpful employees great prices friendly cashiers from the moment you walk in and arrive your greeted by friendly security guard..i needed help finding merchandise and each floor associate very helpful and friendly i like it so much i come from the bronx to this 125th st location..
Damaged items alwas on its shelvs, and a line that could make many shopaholics reform (usually a minimum 10 minute wait) but where else can you get a $20 ______ (you fill in the blank) marked down to $3.50... Right. But you gotta take the good with the bad though. You may find the shirt you need for work in less then 3minutes but youll definitely be in line to pay for 15mimutes

2022-05-26Marshall’s is always a good place to find deals and this one is well organized and clean. The entrance is a little hidden but easy enough find and up a set of escalators. There’s also a second floor for all the household stuffs, just fyi. Overall everything had price tags, was on the self, and was generally well stocked. I’ll come back to this location and I’d recommend it to others.

2022-01-23I went there primarily to see if they had any super discounted Christmas finds. And they did. I was thankful that it was organized. I purchased socks gifts and a board game. The packaging on everything was very good so I can gift these items next Christmas. Yay me.The sales associates were very helpful also.

2022-06-20The Marshalls in Harlem has really dropped the ball it used to be great...but now they only have a handful of clothes & shoes to choose from..& the clothes looks like they were RETURNED clothes.I now only look for things for the Home, which so far still looks ok.

2021-10-20They are clean, well organized and friendly cashier. Sometimes they seem to be short of staff though but I do say the sales person was helpful in helping me look for some sneakers I liked even though they didnt have my size.i want to say the two young female cashiers was really helpful in putting my big comforter set in my reusuable bag I purchased. The two cashiers tried and tried and put my comforter set in bag when it didnt really fit.i was really thankful because I didnt want to carry the set home and traveling with it being exposed because the way it was packaged.Im visiting again.

2021-11-06The store is large but items are pretty organized. The store has two levels. It has an extensive shoe department. The prices are great and it is hard not to buy a lot. The cashier sanitized the register. The line was long but the wait wasnt that bad.
