Not just a martial arts center but also a great place for birthdays. My son started classss in the fall and loved it! The instructors and leadership team are amazing at keeping the kids engaged and having fun while maintaining discipline and focus. We decided to hold his 5th birthday party at Master Yang’s and could not be happier. The party was well organized and full of different activities to keep the 24 kids busy (and quite tired by the end). The instructors were wonderful and assisted with both the set up and clean up. For the kids that needed some extra support, they were right there to lend a hand. We received many positive compliments of the party, instructors, and venue from both the parents and kids! Thank you Master Yang’s helping make our son’s 5th birthday so special!!
We decided to have my sons 5th birthday party at Master Yangs yesterday and all 25 kids had a BLAST! Many kids left saying they wanted to have their birthday party there. Instructor G is awesome and my sons look up to him. Ashley Gonzalez has the party planned out so well. All activities were timed perfectly. It was a blast all around that was priced reasonably with unlimited kids-which is hard to find! Thank you for making my sons birthday so special and fun!My 4 and 5 year old sons have been doing taekwondo at Master Yangs for the past year. We have had a WONDERFUL experience and it has helped my active sons get their energy out! I have noticed how taekwondo has affected their focus, following directions, respect adults, and most importantly-improved their confidence. Both of my son has a severe speech delay, receives occupational therapy, and physical therapy, he has benefited from coordination from taekwondo. I 1,000% recommend Master Yangs to anyone looking for an extracurricular for their child!
My son was recently diagnosed with ADHD and has trouble with coordination, balance, focus, and respect. So many people had told us to try taekwondo. I can for sure say that taekwondo has been so helpful in starting the long journey we have. Everyone from the instructors to the leadership team to other parents of students are so kind and patient. The skills along with the physical exercise are priceless.We also decided to host my son’s birthday party at Master Yang’s recently. It was amazing. A great deal and they did everything. It was a group of about 15 kids mostly 3-4 year olds so you’d think it would be chaos...nope! Very organized and they all had so much fun. My husband and I barely had to do anything.Thank you Master Yang’s for looking out for our family and helping our son. There are a lot of different taekwondo places in the area, but I would say that this is definitely one of the best
My son has been with Master Yang for almost 8 years and my daughter has grown up here, starting in the Little Lions program at age 4. We started my son to help him with discipline and focus due to his ADHD. Not only has Tae Kwon Do helped him enormously to overcome those challenges, but it has turned in to so much more. If you are looking for a place where you will truly be treated like family while developing confidence, focus, discipline, respect and culture (all while having FUN), then this is the place! We LOVE our Take Kwon Do family and all that being at Master Yangs has brought us.
Master Yangs Martial Arts Center has provided long lasting life-lessons to both of my children. Master Yang and his staff teaches important skills like self-control, discipline, and perseverance. I have a son with a learning disability and muscle development disorder. Hes not the typical strong, tall, agile student. Master Yangs Martial Arts Center helped my son grow over the years pass his physical barriers and my son learned to embrace his difficulties with a sense of self confidence. My daughter on the other hand is talkative, outgoing, bright spirited girl who can pack a punch. She has learnt Discipline and Respect along with other life lessons also equally invaluable! At the age of 11 and 12 They are both Black Belts now onto accomplishing another few years of training to accomplish a 2nd degree Black Belt. From the moment i walked trough the doors of Master Yangs Martial Arts Center I could feel the energy. A friendly and welcoming school with impressive training for anyone from small children to adults. I was immediately hooked. The staff was great and very helpful, and then there is Master Yang, I must say i am HONORED and HUMBLED to learn from such a highly skilled and highly trained human being. His love for the arts and his students is amazing, his dedication to his school is easy to see. His instructors are also as dedicated and well trained. We have put our son into Master Yangs program and could not be happier. The instructors are very involved with the kids and provide a great deal of help for them. Our child is more focused, patient and disciplined since starting the program. Highly recommended for kids of all ages!!👍
Instructor G (Mr G) is phenomenal. My daughter was transformed under his leadership. His presence, tone of voice, character and ability to instill respect and obedience is a true and rare talent. We were so saddened to leave (due to relocation) because I knew the leadership and instructors here could not be replaced. Instructor John is also great. Hes an upstanding, respectful and talented individual. He always shows enthusiasm, great energy and seriousness during class.Thank you to all the instructors and especially Mr. G for setting the standard, so high, for a great Taekwondo school. My daughter will remember and respect you always.
When my son began training at Master Yang’s Martial Arts Center, it was a great solution to our afterschool care needs. It quickly became so much more than that. Our experience over the last six years has been nothing short of exceptional.The afterschool program is well structured with time for martial arts training, homework, and playtime. The afterschool staff consistently provides both a positive and caring environment, with a focus on instilling the core values of the school, “respect, discipline, and integrity”. As a parent, having this support system that mirrored our own values at home was an invaluable asset.It goes without saying that the martial arts training students receive is second to none. I am routinely amazed when I watch the demos and also just the daily training. For me though the most unexpected part of this journey was becoming part of community. Master Yang has provided opportunities for us to travel to Korea, Las Vegas, and NYC for competitions, which have resulted in life long friendships. Our families look forward to annual Family Field Day, Banquet, and monthly Movie Nights as highlights to our busy schedules. We love spending time with our MAC Family!Now a teenager, my son transitioned to the evening classes and maintains a full schedule. The growth that he has had as a result of his training, the support of the instructors and leadership team, and, of course, Master & Mrs. Yang has been truly transformational. By far the most positive and constructive experience for our whole family. Two of our children have been in the Taekwondo program for over a year. My son was a Little Lion and transitioned to Juniors a year ago. My daughter is a Little Lion black belt and has recently moved into the Juniors program. Once our youngest is old enough, shell start Little Lions. Its hard to put into words how important the friendships, confidence, and basic physical activity/development have been. The instructors are amazing, have incredible patience and yet test their limits on a daily basis and keep them wanting to come back for more. Friends that kick together stick together :)Updated: My 10 year old, 8 year old, and 3 year old all take Tae Kwan Do and love it. The instructors are excellent and they challenge the kids to stretch their limits in all aspects. Its great to see them grow stronger, more confident, and more controlled.I also joined about two and a half years ago and am currently a red belt. It has been a great experience to do with my kids and for myself.
My child had his 6th birthday party at Master Yangs and it was incredible. There were about 30 children ranging from 2-10 years of age. There were about 20 parents. The total number of people were about 50 from my party. It never felt too crowded, it never felt too disorganized. The instructors and leadership team managed to make everyone feel special. From the birthday boy and his own special demonstrations, to acknowledging every child by name (name tags are awesome) and high fives, by asking the children at the end to acknowledge their parents. I usually help the party planners that help my childrens party - but I was specifically TOLD not to - and they handled everything (and definitely much more organized than the chaotic strategy I had). The price was so reasonable - a flat fee no matter the number of children. The team accepts tips - so be sure to think about that when your child leaves incredibly happy. I would recommend Master Yangs to anyone for a birthday party and for their aftercare program! I am lucky enough to be able to pick my kids up off the bus, but my kids take taekwondo and I witness the after school program first hand. Homework is the priority - and then play time. We are definite believers in the Master Yang philosophy. The whole Master Yang family balance the line between discipline and kindheartedness. I encourage anyone to try them out!

We have been at MAC for nearly four years as our son has worked toward his blackbelt. We loved the 7-7-7 chart that encourages students to be conscientious with the world around them: voluntarily helping at home, and continuously promoting positive behavior. It is hard work. Students learn responsibility and the Instructors and Leadership go above and beyond to help everyone. My son took Krav Maga Camp to learn how to not be a bystander and to stick up for himself. He loved it. You could see his confidence grow. Even when hes having a hard time with a form or combination, he has the rest of the blackbelt candidates in his class ready to help him. They work as a cohesive team. True black belts work together and raise each other up to be the best.

This is the best martial arts school Ive been to. Both my sons take the Tae Kwon Do classes and I take the Krav Maga classes. Everyone from the staff, students, and other parents are great. Not only do the instructors teach self defense and respect but, they also make it fun for the kids. As for the Krav Maga classes if you are looking for something challenging then this is it. I work out almost everyday and Master Yang pushes me to the limit. Not only am I learning new moves and getting a great workout but, it is a lot of fun. Master Yang has also given me a life lesson talk after one of the classes which shows his dedication to his school, staff and students. Great guy, great staff, great place, dont miss out on this great experience!
We had our 4 and 6 year old sons birthday party here and it was amazing! Our son has taken Tai Kwan Do here for about a year and loves it, so we were very excited when we learned they could also host a birthday party. The instructors and leadership team took care of everything from start to finish. We just brought in the food! 26 children attended and everyone had a great time:)
This place is great. Both of my children have earned their black belts. The entire staff is always willing to go the extra mile to help the students achieve their highest potential. Master Yang treats all his students and their families as if they are his family.
My son just had his birthday party here and we did not know what to expect...but what we got was a room full of 21 happy children who all said they had an exceptional time. The instructors and staff were well organized, fully staffed, greeted guests, attended to all the party guest and hosts needs, made our son feel special while playing fun, creative games with kids as well as incorporating Tae Kwon Do and teaching respect. I never saw a room full of kids so happy to sit still and wait their turn or listen to an instructor. My son got to break a board in front of an enthusiastic audience of 21 of his peers who were respectfully sitting still to watch. He said it was his greatest birthday ever...and we agree!! Our son has been attending classes 3-4 days a week for almost 3 months. He was not big on any group sport and now he begs to go to this everyday. We have seen noticable improvements in his confidence and self-control. We love all of the intructors and entire staff is amazing with the kids. We once had a meltdown over a misunderstanding and I have to say that I have never seen a staff handle it better - Ashley, aka Ms. G, totally gets kids! Your kids will love this place and so will you. It feels like a family, we visited almost every Martial Art Center near us, 10 different ones, and this was a perfect fit. There is a high teacher to student ratio. Space is large and clean...not smelly. Nice sitting area for parents. They care about teaching not only Tae Kwon Do, but respect and manners. Great self-discipline and grade reward system. They are strict but reasonable. Highly recommend!!!
I have taken a number of different Martial Arts styles over the years, but as time went on, I was looking to train more in real world self-defense and came across Krav Maga at the Martial Arts Center in Latham, Ny. Without even taking a trial class, I already new this was the style and school for me. Master Yang has a wealth of knowledge and skill which he brings to the table at each class. Master Yang is continuously staying in tune with all local and national events to make sure his students are informed and know how to handle a situation if it ever should arise. I am very fortunate to be training at the Martial Arts Center in Latham, NY and strongly encourage both men and women of any age to experience one of Master Yang’s classes, since the value they provide is priceless when is come to one’s own safety.
Master Yangs martial arts facility in Latham has the most dedicated and skillful staff who show genuine interest in and concern for, their students. Their mentorship of the youngsters is not only commendable, it is exemplary! The attention shown to my grandson, Kian, has been a major factor in his development both intellectually and in his martial arts skills as well as his progression in self-discipline, respect for himself and others, and his personal achievement of goals. This centre can only be described as the greatest possible place in which every age group can excel! I am truly delighted to see this organization influence such a wide range of individuals in such a positive manner!!
I have been with them for a year now but today they really impressed me. very well trained instructors, well behavior and outstanding environment. Today when my kid was nervous and stressed from the testing before the pormition, they took her away from the group and they did a separate testing. They made sure she is happy and not scared. Will def stay with them for after school prog and the Taekondo classes.

I am enrolled in Krav Maga here. I have wanted a place to learn krav maga, become fit, and improve my confidence. Master Yang and all of the instructors are amazing. I always have been a slow learner and lacked self confidence when it comes to physical activities, but Master Yang’s MAC is helping me to better myself and develop crucial skills.
I have been to Master Yangs Martial Arts Center before it was under that name. I was going back when it was Master Yangs Pais Taekwondo, I first started when they were on route 9 near 76 Diner where Fabios restaurant now is.Master Yang is an excellent master who helps one learn self confidence, interpersonal skills, inner reflection and of course martial arts. The primary teaching of his school is Taekwondo but he also teaches Hapkido, as well as weapon defense against knives, and weapon training such as Nunchuck, Bo-Staff and Haedong Kumdo.He has a wide array of instructors and senior class mates always willing to help. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the man himself is knowledgeable about any questions you may want to ask. Dont let his Korean accent or your misconception about Korean/Asian culture turn you away from this opportunity. If you can prevail and have the drive youll find this school wonderful. It is also great if you have kids!
My older daughter will be starting college soon and I thought it prudent for her to learn some self defense techniques before going away. A friend, whose entire family is involved in the martial arts, suggested Krav Maga training and recommended Master Yangs center as one of the only Krav Maga training facilities in Upstate New York. My daughter balked at the idea of attending a class so I decided to enroll myself and share with her any knowledge gained. It has been a year now since I started and I have added Brazilian Jiu Jitsu into the mix. It is an understatement to say that this experience has been life changing. The benefits gained are more than just self defense. Strength, fitness, quick reflexes, mental clarity - mind, body, spirit are all nurtured.It has been said that what you are speaks louder than anything that you say or even more than anything that you do. In keeping with that philosophy it is very clear what Master Yang and the rest of instructors are - that is dedicated and compassionate mentors who genuinely care about each and every students growth and development.For anybody interested in self defense or self improvement I highly recommend stopping in. If nothing else just sit in and watch some of the classes and meet the staff. It will leave a lasting impression.
Nothing like being told by master yang himself ”you son is not normal” and then viods his and his brothers contract after 2 years of little lions. This place is money hungry, two children and 24 months of on time payments and the master himself refused to help us on two EXTRA 45$ testing fees when our family could not meet their testing scheudle. MY FAMILY was struggling financially, I asked for him to understand my families situation. He said I lack respect. It was easier to kick my children out then to help us. This is probably due to the recent influx in participants. Best of luck

By far the best Martial Arts classes in new york state! I started with them in august in Taekwondo and immediately fell in love. I quickly began Haedong Kumdo, and in october I started Alpha Krav Maga! I have lost over 40 pounds, I have increased strength, stamina,dexterity and mental awareness since i began this journey and I look forward to seeing it through to black belt and beyond. The staff as well as the fellow students are beyond amazing! Everyone is very helpful and encouraging and the content is serious and rewarding. We have participated in their MAPP program since 2018, our son has made meaningful connections with staff. In addition, there has been improvement in other socioemotional areas.
Trained with Master Yang over20 years ago, and I am back to continue my training. A great team that feel more familial then just a martial arts class.
I love this place so much. We moved to Latham so that my son could do his after-care here. A year later the whole family is training. Filled with wonderful people, positive energy and good training.

2021-06-23Been doing it since I was 3, and to be fully honest, coming back after my few years break after getting my Black Belt was one of the best choices I made. The instructors are the perfect balance between kind and strict, and they always try to get you to improve as much as you can. It never feels like they are mean to you, just trying to guide you. It truly feels more like a family than just a Martial Arts group. Thank you Master Yang and all the staff at Master Yangs Martial Arts Centre.

2021-04-19Both my daughters are at Master Yang’s and we are extremely happy. Our youngest is in Little Lions and the instructors give her exactly what she needs to succeed. Each class we see her confidence grow. Our 1st grader is in Juniors and Taekwondo is benefiting her greatly mentally and physically and she loves all her instructors.

2019-08-20My son was invited to an open house at Master Yang’s Martial Arts Center 5 years ago. At the open house he cried in a corner because he lacked confidence in himself. Now he is a strong confident young man. His teachers and others who are around him regularly describe his a respectful, confident and caring, all traits that are encouraged at this school. My husband and I were so impressed with this martial art school we both started classes. My son is a black belt and in a few years we will all be proud to wear Master Yang’s black belt. If you want a serious school that knows how and when to have fun... give them a call!!

2021-04-21Our oldest son has been attending Master Yangs for five years as part of their after school program and has been thriving there in their supportive, respect driven, and active environment. Even with ADHD, at school his teachers remark on the progress hes made with discipline, self control, and appropriate responses to stressful situations over the years. I know we work on those things at home, but his experience as a Little Lion and then working his way through Junior levels to his advanced brown belt, has helped him develop self regulation and a real sense of growth mindset and pride. We cant wait for our youngest to become a Little Lion too! Master Yangs Martial Arts Center is an excellent choice for kids.

We had such a positive experience we enrolled our daughter in the Little Lions class when she was 4 years old. 2021-04-19My son, Kian, has been training at Master Yangs Martial Arts Center for 6 1/2 years. He started in the Little Lions program when he was 4 and he now has his Black belt and is working towards his 2nd degree Black belt and becoming part of the Junior Leadership Team. One of the foremost attributes that Kian has developed through his years of training and personal mentoring from Master Yang and his staff, is the quality of respect. 2021-03-05Not only is MAC a great school, the Master and Instructors work phenomenally with all kids. This was one of the best things I could have done for my children. They are now 7 & 9 and they started when they were 3 & 6. The focus, confidence and self control theyve developed in this past 3 years is indescribable. AWESOME school hands down.

2017-10-15My daughter has been in the black belt program for 3 years and after having an amazing birthday party for my little guy, he has decided he wants to begin martial arts as well.We love being a part of this MAC family. It has been a truly positive experience for my children. And as for the birthday party, it is the best one I have had for with of my kids. Reasonably priced and they do everything! I actually got to enjoy myself while seeing the kids have a great time too!

2018-05-29My son began taking class at Master Yangs Martial Arts Center in the fall. The instructors are amazing. Their vision is exactly how I want my son to be. He has struggled with other activities in the past. This is the first time I have seen him enjoy what hes doing, work hard, and go the extra mile even when he cant do something in class the first time he learns it. This is all because of the instructors. They are just amazing.They are always willing to go the extra mile for my son. In March, my son signed up for the talent show at his school. Mrs. G. helped him every week perfect his performance. She even came to his show on a Friday night to help him break boards during his performance.Since the talent show I have observed his confidence grow. I have to attribute this to all of the instructors and especially Mrs. G.Thank you!!!!
