The attention and expertise I received on my visit was superior. I knew I was looking for a gas fireplace insert but wasnt aware of the differences available between models. Aaron in the Glemont store had so much knowledge and answered my numerous questions. I was so pleased I made my purchase the same day. I highly recommend Matchless Stove and Chimney and trust me when I say I researched and shopped around.
All of the folks at Matchless listened to my concerns, answered all of my many questions and did a first rate job installing my new fireplace. They were professional and courteous. I highly recommend them.

I called Matchless Stove & Chimney because we had accidentally turned off the pilot of my gas fireplace and never had instructions on how to light it back. I was transferred to Dave who walked me through how to do it over the phone. No visit required!!! I was so thankful to get it back working so quickly. Dave was great!

My house came withba gas wood stove. It had issues. They helped meb with advice on how to solve the issues right over the phone with no charge and left the option to call for a service technician appointment if i need it later. Im very pleased.
The process was easy and stress-free from consultation to installation. The installation techs were very helpful and answered any question I had.
Matchless Stove & Chimney staff are professional, knowledgeable, and easy to deal with. Their installer is amazing. You wouldnt even know hed been here because there was not a spot of dirt anywhere.. I am more than delighted with them.

John McArdle was always available, took seriously all my questions and concerns, and was warm, friendly and caring, explaining the process without ever making me feel pressured. A terrific human being and a terrific salesman. He went out of his way to understand the challenges posed by the difficult layout of my home, and the determined and dedicated installers successfully met those challenges with unblinking assurance. Last year, after visiting other fireplace businesses (with very little help from them) we decided to go with Matchless Stove and Chimney to have a gas fireplace installed. They were extremely helpful and professional from the start. Today we had that fireplace cleaned and inspected. I did not get the name of the service tech but he did a great job and was very friendly. We have been pleased with this company from day one and highly recommend them to anyone.
After paying in full, waiting two weeks for parts, still waiting on the completion of our gas fire installation. It was broken on arrival... Will update soon.Update 10/17: The gas fireplace was completed yesterday. A $50 discount was given after the long wait.
Great service in the showroom.....salesman personally came to the house to confirm our selection would work. Scheduled an install and surprisingly, pulled in the install date to our satisfaction. Installers were prompt, courteous, knew the product and professional. Top notch, cant ask for better service.
Isaiah sat down with us and spent a considerable amount of time discussing our wood stove options, all the while knowing we could not purchase the stove that day. His patience paid off and we purchased the stove and Matchless came and installed it expertly, taking the old stove away which was a great help.A year later we had water leaking in the flashing of our stainless steel chimney (which was existing and Matchless did not install) and Isaiah fit us into the schedule and the crews fixed the problem expertly, for a reasonable price.We would not hesitate recommending Matchless for any chimney, wood stove, or fireplace need.
I hope this gets to the correct place as my computer is not the best.. Jesse, one of your technicians, arrived at my home a little earlier than expected in order to clean and check my gas fireplace, but that was fine with me as he did contact me so that I knew he would be early. Jesse was very courteous and friendly. He went to work as soon as he got set up with his tools. When he was finished working on the fireplace he cleaned up everything. Over the years Matchless has installed a wood insert into an existing fireplace and a new gas fireplace. Both are great! Today we had an expert cleaning. No mess and a very pleasant technician!
Terrific company with very professional service. Converted a wood-burning fireplace to propane 2 years ago and today came to clean it. Very pleasant, courteous and when finished left the work area spotlessly clean. I cannot recommend highly enough.
We have two Matchless Fireplaces--one gas and one wood burning insert for an old fireplace. We love both of them especially the insert--we had the choice of replacing the chimney or going with an insert. The people at Matchless suggested the insert, and we love it; it looks beautiful and keeps us toasty warm. The people at Matchless are so easy to work with and provide clean and efficient service. We highly recommend them!!
Called the day before about needing a part for a job only to find out upon arrival that no such part existed after it was confirmed by telephone or so disappointed how can the right hand not know what the left hand is doing
Tom of Matchless Stove and Chimney is the best! I have had an ongoing problem of a leak into the attic around the chimney. I have sought help from several chimney companies and a roofing company to try to determine the cause of the problem. All but one of those companies did not go out of their way to find the problem but rather proposed a shot gun approach where they are asking me to spend money on a proposed fix that might not even be the cause of the problem. Only Tom, of Matchless Stove and Chimney in Glenmont, went way out of his way to determine the actual problem so he could do a targeted fix. He even did a water test which he suggested. I asked other companies to do a water test in the past and they would not do it. Tom asked me detailed questions and did a thorough inspection as he sought to uncover the problem. He was very patient in explaining everything to me. His determination to find the problem is unparalleled. Tom is a true professional looking out for the customer, looking out for my interests. I love the Kozy Heat Carlton 39 Fireplace I bought from this Business. When it required Warranty work immediately after my Contractor installed it, they offered to come and service free of charge even though it was self installed. Very Satisfied!
We had few glitches getting our gas insert installed, but virtually everyone we dealt with at Matchless was thoughtful and determined to get it right. And they did! Great company. Highly recommend Matchless.
They were awesome as always. I’ve used them for years. Prompt, courteous, helpful and very efficient! Always great about safety with fireplace chimney needs too. Clean when they finished, I recommend highly.
My husband and I made the drive out to the showroom and arrived half an hour before they closed. The showroom was empty. No one greeted us. We wandered around and tried to make noise to get attention, to no avail. After ten minutes of walking around a tiny showroom unassisted we decided to leave. There are other places to get a fireplace and surround.

Very knowledgeable and responsive to our questions along the way. We chose a see through gas log set and couldn’t be happier. Installers were on time, neat/clean and provided a tutorial on our purchase when they were done.

2022-03-31We just had a replacement gas fireplace installed by Matchless Stove & Chimney and worked with John. The entire process was smooth from start to finish. He was friendly, responsive, and provided knowledgeable and thoughtful considerations that worked out perfectly for us. He also confirmed the availability of all materials prior to scheduling an installation date and met all expectations. The fireplace unit and marble surround are high quality and should last for many years.Shane and Austin were the installers and they arrived on time both days they were here to demo, install and finish the project. They cleaned up both days, checked everything for proper operation, ensured the hearth was level and nicks were touched up.We couldn’t be happier (and warmer) with a brand new operational fireplace and highly recommend Matchless Stove & Chimney.

2021-12-16We had called a few different companies around the area for a wood burning fireplace insert and found Matchless to be the MOST helpful right from the initial phone call to just ask about inserts. They gave me all the information I needed and then some, We ended up going into the Glenmont location the day after and purchased an insert. Everyone was so kind and genuinely happy to answer any and all questions. 10/10 highly recommend and will be using for future services!

2022-01-18The customer service at Matchless Chimney was nothing short of exceptional. The moment we walked into the show room we were greeted and provided a thorough overview of our options. We were even given options on behalf of a friend when we asked about their home. This was our 2nd quote of the day and it was by far a way better experience.The installation portion exceeded our expectations. They were very professional and you would have never even known they were there. They made sure not to leave a speck of dirt. They even spent some time to fix our fireplace door that seemed to be getting stuck.I would absolutely recommend Matchless Chimney to anyone. Top notch service from start to finish.

2022-02-14The installation crew did everything they could to make the process go as seamlessly as possible.. we had a very difficult/not typical layout fireplace location and they went out of their way to not tear through our walls/ ceiling to route the gasline. They didn’t dawdle around, they showed up on time and got straight to work. Were professional and courteous.. John M at the Clifton Park location was amazing at communicating with us and answered any questions we had along the way. A+ service

Aaron was patient, very knowledgeable, listened to what we were looking for and did not try to steer us toward higher end products that we didn’t need.
