I have had no issues taking my personal vehicle there, service is great if its done the same day or in one sitting. However, if you leave your vehicle overnight, it will rarely be done when you expect it to or even when its scheduled the next day. It seems, at times, they begin working on your vehicle regardless of if it were scheduled at a particular time or not.
Great Car Buying Experience!I went in with an idea of what I wanted , but no specific vehicle in mind. Jack was wonderful! He searched for just the right car, scheduled a test drive around my schedule, worked with Scott to get it financed, and even worked late to put me into my new ride! The whole process went so smoothly- and quick - I will start my next vehicle search at Matthews.
I have had a very good overall experience with Matthews, their employees are very nice and helpful. I purchased a 2017 Ford Escape from them and I am very happy with my purchase except that when I purchased it I was told that I would be able to get a vehicle to drive if this one needed to go in the shop for any extended repairs which was very important to me because this was the only vehicle I had and I would lose my job if I did not have it. The first time I had to take my car into the shop I asked about getting a loaner or even renting one which I was willing to pay for. I was then told they do not give loaner vehicles and that I was not old enough to rent one. I found it ridiculous that i was old enough to purchase a car from them but not old enough rent one even though I was told that I would be able to when I purchased it. I have checked with other dealerships and they all most all offer a loaner or a rental that I would be able to get. Other than that issue I was very happy with Matthews Ford but i am not sure if i will purchase my next vehicle from them because of this issue.
I had an overall poor experience with the service department. My initial experience was good. Unfortunately, it was my cars introductory visit which included an inspection. I left the car with the intent to repair 1 item to have my 2016 car pass the New York state inspection with the intention of leaving it for the week to get estimates and fix by weeks end 4 other items. I was assured there was enough time to take care of the additional items, one that required no parts. After calling and reviewing on Monday, I didnt hear anything. I called midday on Friday, only to learn the only things repaired was the 1 original item and a key fob purchase and program.And just to provide insult, they charged me for a second inspection. After being a long, loyal Ford owner, I wont be returning to Matthews for any reason. Thank you for reducing my choices.
While I didnt purchase my vehicle here, I do bring it here for all service and maintenance. There is a nice waiting area with coffee and bottled water and when your vehicle is ready, youre personally briefed on what was done etc. Everyone that I deal with is friendly and knowledgeable. 👍
Purchased a Ford Focus from these guys about three years ago now. They are very helpful and know what they are doing. The car has been amazing and I will always be a ford customer. Even with a midocre credit score ford credit financed me with a low interest rate. My only complaint is the trade in. I traded in a truck and prior to doing so I said that I would be putting the stock rims back on considering I had brand new rims and tires on it that were purchased with a credit card. They called me telling I was approved and then the games began. They said they needed both sets of rims for the deal which I refused to do. So they kept the aftermarket rims and tires and I kept the credit card debt when I was hoping to sell them and clear that debt that now does me no good. They also gave me the lowest trade in price, $1k less than most others I checked with. Claiming the truck would just go to auction anyways. If thats the case then the rims should not have mattered at all to them. Honestly I believe one of their staff wanted the aftermarket set and thats why this all occurred. Everything was decent up to that point. That would be why I still give them 4 stars. But in the future I will learn to straight up say no and check another place for the deal that is right for me.
Disappointed, I like the people but ... I needed new tires and an inspection got a decent deal on the tires with $130. in rebates , knew i was due for a new set of fuel filters so asked for that also , last time it cost me $100. got done and he says the retainer tab is broke on the fuel filter and asked me who did it last time? I said you did ... tells me its a non issue , doesnt offer to repair it . I get the bill and was charged $200 to change the fuel filters when I asked why so much more than last time he tells me I was under charged last time basically nullifying the rebates , better to be out a $100 bucks now than $1000 down the road Ill go elsewhere from now on .
We just bought a new F250 from Mike Grant and he made the process simple and seamless! We got a great deal and couldnt have been happier with a salesperson. Highly recommend Mike to anyone looking for a vehicle! Will buy again!Also, I really appreciate the prices and selection that Matthews Ford offers. Makes it easier to find what you want.
I can not speak for the service department; never had any service work done there. Can not speak for the sales department, never bought a vehicle there.I will speak for the auto body shop. They have done great work on my car, at a surprisingly reasonable cost. Check in with them when you need auto body repair work done. Their turn around time on a vehicle is fast and the quality is outstanding.
I had a great experience purchasing my car with Matthews Ford located in Norwich. Mike Grant did a great job at answering all the questions I had about pricing, warranty, car features and what to expect with my purchase. Jesse Smith did a wonderful job with my financing and answering all my questions I had. Ed Zimmeran and his shop went over the car and prepped it. Because of the teamwork, I drove my car home the same day! Overall, I had a great experience at Matthews Ford and will be returning for my future purchases. Thank you.
Saw a 2017 vehicle that looked great online. Dealers told me it was almost like new so took their word and agreed to purchase it if test drive went well. Dealer sent purchase order to my bank, and I drove almost an hour to dealership with check in hand . Upon inspecting the car I discovered it had scratches everywhere, damage to the front and rear bumper, moisture in the headlights, and ripped interior near the sunroof. I Walked away very upset . Dealers apologized but didnt make attempt to negotiate a better price, but even if they had would not have bought it. . Inspect used vehicles closely, they made up a bunch of excuses about not checking it over closely.. would you want to purchase a vehicle they dont go through first?
My saleman Nathan Gordon was great to deal with he went above and beyond, to help my family find the right car for us. However, I am not happy about having the car brake down only having it for 8 days. Granted its a used car but still it should of never happened. It was a minor thing the battery but that is part of them inspecting the car before it was sold for what I heard for an employee . I am just glad that they fixed the problem for me. I give Nathan Gordon five star and Ford them self a three and a half for the inconvenience .
Very slow and apparently no one listens when you talk. I went for a oil change and inspection and it was supposed to be free because my last visit they charged me full price even though I am a gold card member. So they told me that this would be free and they still got wrong. At this point after 7 years and 4 subs boughten from them dont know if I will ever go back . An hour and a half is way to long for this sevice
Our truck started giving us warning messages we had never seen before. It is a Saturday so we started to call Ford dealers in the area. called 5. two were closed. Someone knowledgeable at one explained what he though was wrong and gave us a list of other dealers in area. 1 said they couldnt even see us for 4 weeks. Not even to reset the warning. Other tow didnt have people who could work one our truck. We called Matthews and spoke with Kelly. She was wonderful and explained that they were open till 2 if we could get there and they could see what they could do. I didnt mention that we were towing a 39ft 5th wheel.We got there and they took us right in and all they needed to do was reset the warning. They checked all else out and every thing was fine. Then they washed the outside of the truck. after 2 weeks of rain in gravel/dirt RV parks it needed it. What a pleasant surprise. Kevin H. was our tech and he and Kelly were wonderful. Super nice people. Highly recommend them. we have 2015 dually super cab diesel. Thanks Kelly & Kevin
I saw a truck listed on their website. I called my salesman in Vestal to inquire about transferring it. He checked with the Norwich Ford store. They told him the truck was sold that morning. Darn I missed out. Continuing my search, I saw the truck was still listed as in stock. I called the Norwich store to check its availability. I was assured the truck was in fact in stock.I understand that a Ford store may not want to transfer a used Ford truck to a Chevy store. I wasnt happy about it, but I wanted the truck.I made the 1 hour trip up after work as I told the salesman on the phone I would.When I arrived at the store, the truck was no where to be found. The salesman apologized, and informed me that another salesman had sold and spot delivered the truck at lunch time. Just my luck.As it turns out, I stumbled upon the owner of the truck. It turns out the truck was sold a OVER A WEEK (8 days) prior to my inquiries.This is a very dishonest way to do business, and they obviously dont value their customers time
I purchased a 2015 Ford F250 in August 2015. The entire experience was great. They gave me a great trade in for my 2011 F 250. The price for my new vehicle was better than any other dealer within 30 miles of Binghamton. The sales person, Gary Tuckabury was very knowledgeable. Service staff went over all of the new trucks features before I left the lot. I had my first oil change and service inspection at Mathews as well. The service staff answered all of my questions and showed me some of the critical parts on my diesel truck.
My recent purchase of a 2015 Ford F150 from Mike Grant at Matthews Ford in Norwich was an enjoyable experience. I have dealt with Matthews Dealerships for my last three vehicle purchases and have always found the staff to be Friendly, courteous and knowledgeable and this carries over from sales to service. I found Mike, Jessie and Mickey at the Norwich store to be everything that Matthews advertises in its customer service. All staff were very helpful and patient trying to explain all the options on the vehicle to a technically illiterate person and ensuring that I was comfortable with my purchase. Sometime looking for a Truck is more than getting a great price. Its about supporting local. Mike got me exactly what i was looking for with in a matter of less than 24 hours. Even though he showed me a FORD first. We all make mistakes. hahaha. either way, i was happy enough to take my wife back to Mike and in a couple of hours my wife had picked out a nice new car after hers got totaled out but some ding dong. Mike Keep up the good work. Ill be back for the mustang as soon as the house is paid of. Keep an eye out for a black 2018 Mustang GT for me.
Very bad experience. Went in for oil change, had to have a few other things done. Took longer than it should have, what would normally take approximately 2 hours took 3-4 hours. After getting the car keys back to head home with my vehicle, shortly after leaving there was a loud crashing and clunking sound from my car, upon inspection the oil spill cover was not replaced properly. Was unable to drive back with fear of causing more damage. Called the service department, was put on hold for several minutes, sales rep answered again and asked to take my name and number. Left my name and number and told them what had happened and that I was on the side of the road waiting assistance, giving him my location. Sales rep was nice and said they would call me right back. I gave them 5 minutes to which no one tried to call me, I called them right back and the service rep said oh Ive been trying to call you, where are you I again gave my location which she told me they would be right out. I waited on the side of the road approximately 45 minutes before another service rep called me asking my location, to which I again told her. As it turns out she sent her service manager to Oxford even though I had told 3 separate people I was still in Norwhich, on the side of Highway 12 with my flashers on none the less. The service manager finally arrived to which he explained that my car had been worked on by 2 separate mechanics and the second one to work on it did not check my car. There was no excuse for this to happen. After fixing the problem on the side of the road he asked I come to the service department to have a few more things done which would take about 5 minutes. I drove back to the service department where I waited another 30 minutes, a service rep was ensuring that other customers were being promptly helped and that their cars were to be cleaned before leaving after their service. My car was never cleaned with either visit to the Quick Lane. The service representatives were talking about me as if I was not in the waiting room and could not hear them. They were more worried about gettin my car back to be so that I would leave, probably because they could tell that I was upset, but they offered no assistance to help me after the problem I had. I only received half heartedly apologies as if it was ok what had happened.Also earlier while waiting for my services to be done I could hear very clearly the service representatives personal issues and a couple times took a some personal phone calls while behind the desk, or were too busy worrying about heading home for their Friday, disappearing often.I am very dissatisfied with their services and I will no longer conduct any business with them.
Ive taken my car in for an issue, the first time I drove it home about 40 minute drive, only to have it do the same this the next morning. They were kind enough to pick it up, said a wire was pinched. Take it home a couple of days later wont start. Take it back now I have to replace the rear wiper motor, so we do. I drive it away they forgot to put the cover on it, take it back, they break the cover while putting it back on. Said they ordered a new one it will be a couple of days. About two weeks later yep now the alternator goes, so I go back, while there I ask about my cover oh we ordered the wrong one, but they do find one to replace it also they replace my alternator. TWO weeks later the alternator goes bad :( Here we go again so of course its under warranty so I drop it off again. The staff is very nice, but I dont have any confidence in the mechanics also I had to ask them to clean up the grease that was left in my car.
Wanted to buy a vehicle from you a 2016 Ford escape you guys had 17500 on the vehicle I had cash in hand but you would not budge on price its kinda funny bill somebody that worked there when it was still Smith Ford was still there when matthews took over you guys actually did me a favor by being close minded and all about the profit instead of selling a car billy at fuccillo sold me the exact same vehicle less miles for 13000 you guys need to get with the times you suck
Personally i dont trust them...tried to dupe my mom on breaks she said no took em to a personal mechanic by a friend ...needless to say...aand the manager said...i highly doubt that..hes my best employee..i got hot...dbl cked everything on his end an confirmed your breaks are fine..of coarse they are we knew that....deny deny deny

2022-05-07Well, apparently something has changed.Should be about 7 days. Well give you a call when its ready.Said the guy behind the counter.Awesome! I said.That was on March 9th.Fast forward to May 5th.Was told just this past Thursday (5-5-22) that my transmission was in and that they would be working on it later that afternoon or tomorrow.I drove by today (5-7-22) and there my vehicle sits... still. Outside. Not being worked on.Costing me money for a rental every day that I do not have my vehicle.Is it that the repairs are 100% covered by the extended warranty and not a priority?I understand that there has been a parts shortage, but I wouldnt think that has anything to do with what I was originally or recently told.New rating earned.

2022-01-16MY boyfriend and I have paid over $22,000.00 of work to be done on his truck and still things are breaking we have to fight over warranty details. By now we could have gotten a few new vehicles or spent that money on our 2 young boys under 2.

2021-07-16Just got a newer vehicle from Matthews and they are honestly not bad. But with that said and by no means am I showing disrespect but they dont have good communication there. We spoke to a few different staff and it seems no one single person knew the same things. In the end I would definitely recommend matthews in Norwich because even tho there isnt good communication there, they do work hard to give answers and to satisfy the customer. My purchase of the vehicle isnt a regret at all. They made certain the vehicle was clean and ready. Now on the other hand I dont like using their chat because in the chat its people from other locations who talk to you and they dont know anything. Cause they arent obviously in the same building so I would recommend just taking to someone at the local dealership. Other than that great review!

2021-11-29I took my 2014 Ford Focus here for a problem with the extended transmission control module.They put a new one in last week. Its been working better in regular drive but.....I put it in low gear today bc of snow and it didnt want to shift out of first gear. Ill have to take it back bc this seems like a problem Ford has to figure out with their transmissions.

2021-07-20As a manager of a business I have never felt more uncomfortable here. I understand I live in a red town. I understand opinions and beliefs are different with each and every individual but to sit in the waiting room for my car to be done and hear all the swearing and slurs and words that should never be said about any person of color and race was horrifying. You want to talk like that do it outside, do it in break room. Do away from clients. We are here to service cars and sell cars. Not to hear these horrific things. Thankfully I didnt have a child with me. This is unacceptable. No one should talk like this period but DEFINITELY not in a place of business with clients in ear distance. Disgusting. Horrific. I wont step foot in this business ever again.

2021-07-04Had an appointment set up to view and test drive a Ford F150...... day before appointment they called and told me they sold the vehicle. So I ask you what is the point of making an appointment. When I asked the Salesperson he was somewhat apologetic but said his sales manager would not allow him to honor the appointment and he didnt care if they lost my business. Keep in mind the only reason I made the appointment was because of the 1.5 hour drive I had to make to get to the dealership. Matthews dealers ship are new in the upstate ny area so I suggest all who read this remember it when dealing with any of the franchises.
