Mavis Discount Tire in other cities:
I made a appointment didnt matter two and a half hours later they mounted to tires. Went to remove tire next day lugnut was so tight it sheared in half. If youve been to this store you should have your lugnuts checked before you get stuck somewhere on the side of the road
Happy with tire rotation. However, manager didnt show up with key for 8 oclock opening and people without an appointment went before myself and others with appointments! If its first come first serve, why have appointments at all? So my 8 oclock didnt get finished until 10, not bad, but should have only taken 20 minutes tops.
This shop is great. They fit me in without an appointment, were very knowledgeable about the work they were doing, and worked with me to prioritize what needed to be done. They also explained each repair and did what they could to help me out. Most importantly, I was treated with respect throughout the whole process without the talking down you would experience at a lot of shops.. I recommend this shop to everyone
Needed to get an oil change before driving back to North Carolina. This Mavis location was very busy compared to others I’ve been to, but they seemed to handle it it well. I was appreciative of the service I received from Zack at the desk. He was not only kind and professional, but seemed eager to get me in and on my way quickly. Overall a very positive experience. Thanks!
So, I made my appointment online--thats right APPOINTMENT-- for 11am Monday. I promptly got a call back confirming the details of what I needed and the time of my APPOINTMENT. I got to the store at around 10:45. The guy at the desk looked at me like he had no idea I was coming, or who I was when I gave him my name, then, when I said--I have an APPOINTMENT at 11- he said well, there are a few cars in front of you so it will be a while. Dropping off?NO. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR A REASON.Well--FOUR HOURS later, my car was done. FOUR HOURS. For four new tires and an alignment. WITH AN APPOINTMENT.This place is terrible. No apologies, no explanations, nothing. Go elsewhere.
Ive purchased tires from the Ballston Spa store for multiple vehicles over the years. I brought my Chevy Impala in today, the rear tires were losing air pressure. Corey and his team replaced a bad valve stem on one tire, re-beadded and balanced both tires at no charge.
I’ve used this place for years and been a loyal customer. I always make an appointment but understand things can take time and always arrange a ride for my car. I made an appointment for an oil change and inspection for a Sunday. The appointment was made on a Friday so they had ample time to notify me that my appointment didn’t work (which again they shouldn’t allow appointments if they’re overbooked). Not only did I receive no call from the store I got an email Sunday morning confirming my appointment. When I showed up they said the soonest they could see my car was Monday. I’m 9 months pregnant and in no position to leave my car overnight hence why I made an appointment. The lack of communication is appalling especially since both my husband and I have been good customers for years. I understand behind short staffed but the lack of communication and planning is inexcusable and I’m annoyed that I wasted my time and am left with a car that still needs work done.
Had a appointment at the Ballston Spa location for 9am and I arrived a half hour early. When I got there the person in front of me was thanking the person at the front desk for getting them in last minute. So I dropped off my car and I was told that it would be done between 11 and 12 when I made the appointment. When I called to check on the status of my car a little past 11am, I was told that there was 2 cars ahead of me and that a 9am appointment can take up to 3 hours to get in. Because of my available ride to pick up my car I returned to the location at 12:30 and my car was still in the same spot. I went in and the same person that was in front of me when I dropped the car off was thanking the person behind the desk for how quickly they got them in and finished the work. With that I was a little upset over the situation and kindly asked for my keys and and left without getting the work done.I never write reviews , but I thought it would be good for someone to hear my story.
I made a 12pm appointment a week in advance for a simple NYS inspection (brand new car with no issues). 6 hours later they still have not even pulled my car in!!! Again I had an APPOINTMENT, this is completely unacceptable. I will never bring my car back here for anything if a simple inspection takes over 6 hours.
I want to thank the staff at this store for taking the time to get me in for a reinspection on short notice. Also want to thank them for finding something another shop failed to find, a major safety issue. They have been nothing but helpful and have explained everything. I will definitely be coming back to this location in the future. Again thank you to Cory and his staff here. A++++ all the way.
Dropped my vehicle off the night before and was told first come first served. So first call at 11am called to ask ETA for vehicle to be done. You have 4 infront of you. Ok. Called at 2 still have 4 in front of you. They stated only one mechanic is working on tires. (Which I could totally understand because no one wants to wirk) Went and picked up my vehicle at 4pm. While waiting to get the keys 6 mechanics were working on tires. Called Saratoga Honda they we $100 cheaper and done in 2 hours. So not only did they lie about the mechanics working but they charge more than then a dealership for tires.
The short version: Don’t waste your time here. The long version: This is the second time I’ve tried to use this place for automotive services. The first time, I had a bad experience, but I also hadn’t scheduled an appointment, so I decided to give them another chance. This time, I needed four brand new tires put oh my vehicle which happens to be a Honda Civic. This time, I had the foresight to schedule an appointment online for 5pm. I showed up at 4:59pm.Upon informing the gentleman working the desk that I had an appointment for 5:00pm, I expected for them to quickly take my keys and get to work. Instead, I was met with busy typing, some discussion between the two Mavis employees at the desk mentioning one of the tire deliveries was short today and maybe it was mine. I however kept silent hoping that was not the case, since I certainly hadn’t received a phone call informing me that the job couldn’t be done. Initially I was told that they were short one tire, then after further typing, he said they were actually short three of the four. I couldn’t friggin believe it. I said ok… did anyone try and call me to tell me that the tires hadn’t come in and not to waste my time coming in for the scheduled appointment. Neither desk member could confirm I was called, but one said he hadn’t made any customer calls that day. So there I was… scheduled for a 5:00pm appointment and they didn’t even have the tires to do the job. As a last ditch effort… since I had already wasted my time coming to this joke of a place, I asked if they had any other tires in stock that would fit my car. He did some typing and only came up with one tire set, which he didn’t recommend. He said that my tire size was an odd size. I find this odd because they go on a run of the mill Honda Civic… one of the most common cars on the road.Realizing this was a lost cause and my time was being further wasted, I asked if this happened a lot… where they don’t get tires in for customers that schedule appointments, then fail to even do the most basic thing and call the customer about the problem. The other desk member chirped in and said that no it doesn’t happen often but with COVID and supply chain issues, that it did happen. I find this hilarious because they had already admitted that they knew a tire order was short earlier when the truck arrived. Nobody apparently took any initiative to check whose order it was to inform that customer that it turned up three tires short… out of four. One tire is useless to me.To summarize… don’t waste your time with these yokels. My wife warned me about this place since her parents live in the development across the street… but I thought with an appointment for a job as simple as changing tires, they couldn’t possibly screw it up. Well they can and did. Don’t go to Mavis, don’t try their reservation system, and don’t give them any of your money. What a colossal waste of time and effort.
I found a nail in my tire at 4:45 at night and the tire had a slow leak. I called and asked if the could fit me in before they closed at 5:30. The young man made an appointment over the phone and gave me a confirmation number. When I arrived, they got my car in immediately and I was on my way in 15 minute and I was charged a very reasonable amount for their services. I highly recommend!
Made an appointment online for an oil change. Came in and was greeted by Ken. He was very nice. Since they were short staffed, the wait to get my car in was over an hour. However, once in they were really quick and efficient. The technician was sweet and apologized for the wait, which all in all wasnt bad as I had time to kill. I would give them 5 stars, but it was a long wait.
I got a oil change recently and was not entirely happy with the experience. The work on the car is always good but customer service not so great. The manager Rodney was alerted an more than made up for the problem!.I understand training new employees can take some time. Still prefer Mavis over other garages. There work is good and have given discounts the other places will not.
Came in for two new front tires, ended up needing four instead and new shocks. This is why I hate coming to mechanics but I really did need them & Zack gave us every discount possible. Very friendly and super helpful guy which I greatly appreciate, highly recommend coming here!!!
Zac is the person you want to see at the Mavis Store in Ballston Spa.He Honestly helped me get out of a real messy sloppy job from a previous visit at the Mavis store in Albany on Central Ave.(next to Westgate shopping plaza)Zac is Extremely Professional.Zac made sure I was happy and satisfied before I left his store.Highly recommend this store for any tire need. Excellent crew of staff.Facility was clean with a sense of positive energy that in itself made being there more relaxed. My tires were completely done in a timely manner Which in todays world is so appreciated.Thank You Zac!
This message is for the general manager and corporate staffing in the event they care about the customer experience. I went into the triebel abe in ballston spa. I made a reservation for last saturday am arrived at my appt and was toldsorry sit alot of staffing called out today so it will be a 4 hour wait. He then said u can come bk next week if desired i made another app the next week arrived and was told sorry sir saturdays are busy day that will be a 4 hour wait The general manager needs to review their procedures to determine if they should do away with the reservation system or indicate that drop off is the only available option. I normally dont complain amd didnt after the first incodent but considering this happened again the next week it is clear that Corporate staffing needs to review their customer experience.message to consumer: do not make a reservation here as the business will not honor the reservation which clearly inficates they do not care about your customer expert or your time wasted
The service here was exceptional! I came in one morning very worried about the flat tire I had to repair...the store manager Rob Crowley immediately put me at ease and helped me within a matter of minutes to get me right in and safely back on the road that very morning. He showed the utmost in professionalism and courtesy...thank you Rob for making me believe that “excellent customer service” still exists!
This place is professional and they offer great services. Their prices are fair. When I move to another location I was using a different mechanic service and they were overpriced and cost me headaches when I had to keep taking my car back for the same issue they could never find the root of the problem I took my car to Mavis and was relieved when they fix the issue I would definitely recommend
I came into get an alignment and oil change on my 2014 vw passat. Got a nice coupon on the oil change, alignment service made my car worst than before I brought it in, so I brought it back and they said theyll work on it again. Got a call back two hours later and was told my car was finished. Came back, car was in same spot as I dropped it off, drove it and it was still worst, didnt seem like they even checked on it again (drives to left when not holding the wheel. originally only a tilted steering wheel but went straight when let go). Extremally disappointed, not coming back again.
I have been bringing my car here for many years. After having trouble with so many other garages being dishonest, it is refreshing to deal with professionals that are kind and courteous, as well as being honest.I recently brought my car in for an emergency, and asked them to fix just what was happening. They did so, at a very reasonable price, and didnt try to goad me into extra work. When it came time to pay, the manager Rob went above and beyond helping me get it all together. He was patient, courteous, and professional. Because of Covid, I was nervous about safety protocols, but they were completely safe and careful.I cannot give them enough praise. Thank you, Mavis, for helping keep us safely on the road.
Dropped my car of for nys inspection. Was told it would be done within 3 hours. Came back to pick up 6 hours later was still not done. Was told it was next on lift. Came back 2 hours later was still not done. Manager had told me it was a first come first serve basis when I showed up at opening in the morning. He’s a liar and should give realistic expectations to customer. Place is a joke. Would never recommend this shop to anyone.
Rob and his team are awesome. I couldnt believe how considerate and professional they are. I figured going to a chain to get my brakes done would be outrageously priced and take forever. The process at Mavis in Milton are very reasonable and I received a call that my car was done in less than 2 hours. I thought I wouldnt hear back from them for at least a day like some other places I have gone. Amazing job!
Appoint was at 9am for 4 new tires and inspection, and was told it would be about an hour. They didn’t finish until after 5pm and they forget the inspection. I drive off and get on the Northway and the truck is shaking..... I bring it to a different shop to check alignment and balancing, and three of the four tires were not balanced correctly, alignment was in the green so they didn’t charge me for it. Definitely won’t be going back to Mavis.
I spent $1000 on a set of tires and an alignment for which I had to bring back a total of 5 times to get the job right...which is still not right. It took me returning twice to get the alignment correct and I just went back for the fifth time because of losing air in one of the tires. The manager Rob has horrible customer service skills and had was extremely argumentative. I would NEVER bring another vehicle to this location. The only positive experience was dealing with Lou who actually has customer service skills.
Rob and crew are fantastic. Called on one of the coldest days of the year (when Im sure we werent the only ones having trouble starting the car) and was told to come right in. Aside from being incredibly friendly and professional, I didnt walk out feeling like I got hustled. They ran diagnostics, made the assessment, and replaced the battery in less time than it took me to get coffee at the Dunkin drive-through. They are definitely on the go-to list.
Forever grateful for the staff here. Stopped here because I had a flat tire out of nowhere and had a million things to do. Originally they said they were unable to get the car into the garage until the following day, but after the owner heard what was going on he offered to take the car in right then and there. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful and I will never take my car anywhere else.
I went on a very busy day with a request to repair a screw in my tire. I needed to wait for my car and he told me it might be up to one hour. I waited anyway. He had them pull it in right away anyway! He came back in about 15 minutes to tell me the screw hadt punctured the tire so he wasnt going to charge me! I got in and out in in total of 20 minutes with no charge! Great service and very nice people. Will go back.
We needed an emergency battery replacement for my mothers car this morning. We called, were told to come right in -- the guys were friendly, helpful and IMMEDIATELY took care of us. Weve had nothing but good experiences in dealing with Mavis Tire on Trieble Ave. Many thanks to the staff there!!!
Had two front tires put on my car for $300 When I left my car shook over 40 miles an hour. Called and let them know what was going on was told the tires needed to be balanced with would take about 25 minutes so I set up a appointment for 9 was told they could get me right in now Ive been sitting here for over an hour still waiting for my vehicle to be pulled in to the shop
I’ve been getting my cars serviced by mavis for years and I’ve always been a happy customer. They are the utmost professionals and go the extra mile to ensure that my car is running as efficiently as possible. I’d like to give a big thanks to the manager Rodney, he goes above and beyond for his customers and is an asset to the Mavis team. Please come visit mavis for your car needs. Keep up the good work!!!
I had an 11am appointment which I confirmed and told them Id be staying with my car to which they said, With COVID we need to minimize how many people are in the showroom but well see what we can do. I get there Saturday and they say theyre backed up and its going to take all day to change my 4 tires to which I say okay and thankfully, I had a friend who was free since I wasnt planning to leave. I call in at 3:30 to check that my car will be ready by 5 to which they say, Well it might not be done exactly at 5. To which I say, thats fine, I can come in later Just for them to call me an hour later to say it wasnt done but if I wanted to drop it off the following morning when they open it might be done by 1. I canceled my appointment because this was a complete waste of time and my entire day. They topped it off by not apologizing, not 1 of the 4 people I talked to apologized for the inconvenience and then they send me an email to reschedule because I missed My appointment. Its great to know they cover their tracks with false information. Ill never go there again.
Great service !! Rob was a pleasure to work with, he executed the job professionally I couldnt be more pleased with my experience at Mavis Tire Center in Malta. The facility was sparkling clean, the service was above my expectations I will refer my customers to you again & againThank you for keeping me safe with my snow tires back on my truck
Brought my 2012 Ford Escape in today for inspection and oil service and issues I was having before that I could not get done right of way last time I was there in August got the issue fix today, need a control arm. Lou took care of me I need a price for the control arm once he found he called me with a price, and stated in the next couple of miles recommend shocks and struts, told to hold off on that for now. Picked up my car and spoke too the other guy behind the counter (forgot his name) and asked if he can explain the bushing control arm and I was unsure what the shocks and struts do he explained everything to me and I understood he than suggested to open up a mavis credit card and I was approved. They are super friendly there.
Terrible customer service. I will NEVER bring my car back again. I told them I wanted a second look. I got rude responses & was told to sign up for a credit card (I didnt). The person on the phone sounded angry and I had to keep repeating myself 5x that I wanted a second look, and then he hung up on me. I had to call back to find out when my car would be ready because he never told me. If I could rate my experience a 0 I would, a 1 seems to high for the terrible customer service I received. I also ended up paying $83 for an inspection and oil change which doesnt seem like much of a discount compared to other places. I also want to bring attention to the fact that the employee who was rude to me was not wearing a mask.
Let me tell you something about this place they might be a few bad ones out there but Mavis in Milton does what they say they’re going to do and get it done quick. Right when we had that big storm I had four of my tires that needed to be replaced. Well I had four new ones so I asked them to put it on. Right away they called me up and said Mike listen your ball joint is bad which I know is what I said we can do it for you for This price and get it done quick for you. I let them it was supposed to go to the alignment machine after well that’s when the storm hit. They told me bring it back as soon as I could and they would do it. Saturday morning I brought it over there I told him what they said and immediately they got it in there aligned it make sure everything was all set and got me out of there within a half an hour. I recommend this place. Great Management and staff there.
I went here to get my vehicle inspected. They said my tires were bad and quoted me at $109 being the lowest price. I went in with no brake, rotor or caliper issues. I was told in order to pass inspection my calipers and brakes needed to be replaced because they were seizing and dragging on both sides, there is absolutely no possible way both would seize at the same time. Luckily I’m not easily taken advantage of and always double check my issues. I will be taking my car elsewhere. I also got decent tires for a lower price somewhere else. It’s a shame that they try to take advantage for work that doesn’t need to be done. This isn’t the only location I’ve heard of this happening. If I could give zero stars I would, they out right lied to me about the work that needed to be done. Do better.
I schedule service here 2x per year, always to switch between summer and winter tires. I choose Mavis because they always fit me in, even if they have a tight schedule and they complete the service within the day. As a dog trainer, I need my car back quickly to get to sessions. Mavis is fast and always does the job right. -Dana Viola Dog Training
First off, I’d like to rate them zero stars if I could. This all happened my very first time going here. I went in for what I thought was going to be a quick inspection. They said I needed ~$700 dollars worth of brake system work done. I had just gotten all around new brake pads/rotors/tires less than 1 year ago at the dealers service department. When I mentioned that I seriously doubt it needed all that work..(as it was just done!) I was met with some seriously condescending and rude comments. Then I watched them scratch off my valid inspection sticker. They also didn’t allow me to look at my vehicle on the lift, as most places offer. Super sketchy behavior. I went home and popped off the tires, everything looked totally fine. Brought it to the dealer, (and you can guess what happened) EVERYTHING WAS FINE. Seriously hold onto your wallet at this place, they aren’t honest.
I showed up for an appointment at 9 am. When I arrived I said “I’m here for an appointment.” they responded with my last name which the appointment was under. There was one other appointment and a couple walk ins. I waited for 2 and a half hours and when I called to check on my status the employees were rude and couldn’t find an appointment under my name. They did however have the car under a different last name. When they finally found my car they stated that in order to do the oil change they’d need a couple hours because there were 40 other cars. They failed to take into account the couple hours I had already been waiting and the fact that those 40 cars should be behind me not the other way around.I’d also like bring attention to the fact that my experience happened during COVID-19 and the employees were not wearing a masks around each other or social distancing. I’m not sure the requirements for a business like this but it made me uncomfortable.
If I could rate them zero stars I would. Wife had an appointment for Saturday at 8am for 4 new tires. They did not get to her car until 4:12 pm when they called and said it was just getting on the lift. They also tried to tell my wife that her rear shocks were leaking real bad which I know is bologna because I checked them when I replaced the rear brakes the weekend before. They offered her a free oil change as compensation but if it takes 8 plus hours to install tires imagine how long it takes for an oil change.
Rob and the staff at Mavis are above reproach! Highly professional and dedicated to customer service. He and the staff at the Ballston Spa location are a credit to Mavis Tire. I would recommend them to anyone because of this. Go there with confidence of getting a fair deal from him.
Every time I bring a vehicle there for tire mounting or for rotation they screw it up including telling me they did a service they didnt do like rotating my tires that I marked before I brought it to them they said they rotated them when they clearly didnt. Tire is in their name you would think that is the one thing they would get right
Able to get next day appointment plus right there ! Impressed with the inspector. Id rather know my vechile is safe an road worthy then go to a back yard garage an have a sticker just slapped on. Informed me if potential safety recall on my vechile an gave me the paper w info to call dealership to inquire.I was in need of a battery. Robert the manager offered me coupon for oil an deducted $10. Off the battery. Very nice gentleman very professional and friendly. The store was impressively clean an had hand sanitizer stationed through out . Id recommend going an I will definitely be back .
Absolutely horrible services. i had made an appointment a few months ago, got a call a day or two early saying they have a spot open for me. so i brought my car in and ended up waiting 4 hours before they even took my car into the shop. they charged me $60 for welding my tie rod and another $30 for labor, then two months later the manager tried to tell me it was a brand new tie rod. i replaced both the tie rods myself and took it back to mavis for realignment since i was under warranty. told me it would only take 2 hours to align my tires since there was a long wait. ended up taking almost 3 and a half hours. they managed to twist and mangle my rack and pinion bellow (which i replaced less than a week ago). i am beyond pissed with the terrible services here. this place is only useful for alignments and that is because the computer basically does it for them. the mechanics are poorly trained and everything about this store in general is awful. spend your money in a store that knows how to work on cars.
How fudgeciclin’ awesome is this place!! Heard a sudden loud grinding noise out of the back of the car. Were driving to Hannaford for food and saw the Mavis sign and storefront. Got ceramic brake pads and rotors replaced in under two hours. Beat that, anybody else!!!!Walked over to play miniature golf while we waited, only got to the 15th hole when they called to say they were done (5th hole was a big, scary monster to finish). Brakes were quiet as a mouse mime.
I made myself an appointment on Friday for Sunday because they didn’t have any on Saturday. My appointment was 930 just for a simple oil change and tire rotation, I get there and the guys like I’m sorry we’re still getting to People yesterday, so we’re not gonna be able to get your car until like 4 o’clock this afternoon. So would you mind leaving it. I’m like no not for an oil change I have no one to come get me. He’s like sorry I don’t know what to tell you were so backed up I can maybe get you another day. No I made an appointment two days ago. I also bought four brand new tires and had new struts about a year ago, so very disappointed !!! They could’ve at least called me to say we’re sorry we’re running behind what do you want to do, so I took a 15 minute drive we should 45 minutes of my day, not getting oil change. That I scheduled two days ago. They have lost a very good customer, I will not be returning. This was the Ballston spa site .. I get that things happen, but someone whose made an appointment they should’ve called !!
The fellas here were wonderful to work with, they helped me find the right tires for my car and got me in within a few hours of my call. They explained the warranty on the tires and the Mavis special flat tire replacement service.I highly recommend the Mavis in Ballston Spa on Trieble Ave!
Came here to get a punctured tire repaired as it came with their extended warranty. They told me it will take an hour. 1.5 hours later my car is still sitting outside waiting to be serviced. After that I just took my keys and left as I had an important appointment. They like to play dumb too. They left one customers car running for almost an hour while waiting for her to pick it up. When she came she asked Has my car been running since you called me? They guys at thebdesk didnt even acknowledge her question.
A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!I took my wives Toyota Camry here as it was shaking bad when she applied the brakes. I spoke to the manager on the phone who said hed be happy to check it out and let me know what they find. The next day he tells me the struts are entirely shot all around as well as the calibers and the rear breaks. I figured itd need them being it has over 130k miles so agreed to have his recommendations done.My wife picked up the car and drove it less than a mile before calling me saying something was terribly wrong with the front brakes and the steering wheel was not straight. She drops it back off and they fix a hardware issue with the front wheel and do an alignment, again. She once again picks up the car the next day and once again, calls me up saying theres a loud noise coming from the vehicle every time she hits the smallest of bumps. Once again, the car goes back. The manager says the rear strut(s), the ones they just installed, had an issue and theyre going to fix it, again. My wife refuses to drive the car now so I go pick it up and have been driving it for several days now. The steering wheel is still crooked a few degrees and theres a definite, but subtle rubbing noise in the back end when I apply the breaks.I did receive a call from the district manager with an apology, but his apology wont fix this, nor will it pay for the mechanic I have to take my car too to fix right.Ive gone to this shop for years and never had an issue, but this entire experience has destroyed that. I have zero trust in the shop, or the brand.
My alternator went last week and I had my car towed to the Milton store. The gentleman that helped me out (Sal) was the best!! He gave me the best price. I had 3 other estimates and Mavis gave me best price and the best service. My car was done earlier than expected and it was a very busy day at that shop. Thank you
I will NEVER return to any Mavis store EVER. If I could give them zero stars I would. I had to purchase tires and did so and February 2018. I was directed to a set of tires that I was toll were rated for 50,000 miles. Well since February I have traveled some 14,000 miles I just had to purchase all new tires. No wonder these guys are in the boat there in with inspections of limousines etc. I just hope they get their just due.
I have been using Mavis in Ballston Spa for years for everything from brakes to tires and tune ups. Always great work and service and prices are very reasonable. Another thing I appreciate is their speed as its difficult to be without a car for more than a day. Jim (manager) provides excellent customer service and always willing to go above and beyond.
Horrible service. Had an appointment, didnt even touch my car until 2 hours after appointment! Few other customers in there had similar stories. They had no excuse for being that far behind other than taking in too many walk ins ... Which shouldnt have happened knowing you had scheduled appointments coming up. I was even a little early for mine (like 10 mins). Uhg! It was during the middle of the work day too... Not a pleasant experience at all...
I broke my tire stem and brought my car to mavis in ballston spa. They explained what they were going to check and let me know if the rire stem would need to be replaced oand/or the tire sensor. It was only the tire stem. I did jot gave to wait as long as they told me. Service was excellent..
Brought my car in for rear brake work. Upon picking my car up the emergency brake no longer works. When I contacted them and was finally able to bring it in they denied any fault (it worked when I dropped it off). The manager was exceptionally rude, and only took me because the other manager on site only took me because I complained.1/8/19 update and edit.I have been contacting the customer satisfaction number frequently and have yet to hear from the person that is supposed to be calling me to straighten out the above issues. I have been a customer of Mavis for many years and if this is how you treat loyal customers Ill take my business elsewhere. Also if I do not hear from the appropriate parties by the end of the week I will be contacting the BBB and the NYS Attorney General.
Had an appointment at 8am for snow tires to be mounted and balanced already had the snow tires. The car sat in the bay for an hour before anyone looked at the car. By 11am they finally raised the car and took the wheels off. I officially left out the door at 12. Terrible customer service and quality. Save yourself time and damages to your car and go somewhere else where someone actually knows what theyre doing.
No stars. We have been there three times, each time was lacking customer service. The first time, they neglected to call to let me know my car was not going to be finished before they closed, even though I had an appointment. The second time, they kept our car for two nights, and did not even get to it the next day. We had to call them, they were too lazy to call us. The third time, I brought my car in for an inspection. Their inspection machine was broken just before I got there. Terrible service, lazy employees. Find another place to go.
I agree with the two previous if I could give zero Stars I would. I was just there on Saturday for an inspection and just like the previous person I was pulled out and told I needed between $500 and $1000 worth of work to get my car to pass inspection they said I needed new brakes new rotors new calipers new ball joints etc etc. They literally had just changed my front brakes 6 months ago and my back brakes just over a year ago there was more than about 2/3rds of the pad left on the brakes they were telling me needed to be changed and the caliper they said needed to be changed was moving back and forth just fine. After I said I wasnt going to have all these things done and I was going to go somewhere else the manager I guess came to speak to me and said the brakes were fine all we need to do is change the rotors and one other thing doing me a favor bringing me down to only $300.....oh thanks... So the initial guy was obviously lying to me and when I was paying for my failed inspection I asked the first guy if I needed the brakes changed just to see what he would say and he said absolutely they were almost done and when I called him out on it he had nothing to say. The time before that when I brought my car there had my brakes changed and they said I need a new rotors as well I had a front rotor that I was going to supply them to use but they came back and told me it was a rear rotor. So I go down the road to Rowlands garage, awesome guys, when I brought my car in to have them change the rear rotor they told me it was a rotor for the front of the vehicle and they showed me why, so there is blatant lie number two from the lovely guys at Mavis. so they gave me a deal on the rotor everything else was fine, shocker there, and was out the door for 171 dollars for labor inspection and new rotor, I know these things need to be done and vehicles cost alot of money to maintain, but we as customers dont need lying car mechanics to take hundreds if not thousands of dollars from us in work that doesnt need to be done or can easily be done in 6 months to a year or more later to get more out of our cars. So watch out because every time you go there, they will pull you in and tell you all the things you need done. Funny how my car passed inspection right done the road but they fail me for ten things that were fine or werent things that you could fail an inspection for.
Know your limitsI dropped my car off Early Saturday per reservation. The staff assured me that the car will be done by end of the day. My wife called midday and the receptionist assured her the car will be done by end of the day. Went to pick up the car at 430. The guy at the front desk says that the car isn’t ready and they’ll get it done by 8pm and I can pick up the car in the morning. I called again in the morning and the Randy the manager picked up. He tells me that there are 5 cars ahed of me and that my car won’t be ready by end of the day. This is unacceptable. What’s the point of having reservation if they don’t honor it. If they don’t have enough staff then they should be honest and not take additional cars.
My visit was fantastic. From the interaction with the nice lady at the front desk to the mechanic working on the car everyone was great. Super friendly and helpful and the price was very reasonable and even cheaper than I was originally quoted. Very happy with the experience I will definitely be back.
While the price was fair for the work done, mount and balance, the older service advisor behind the counter was extremely rude. While he was up front about the wait time, his total attitude was offputting. Sitting outside you could clearly hear the mechanics swearing and carrying on, one drove a customers car swearing the whole way through the parking lot. First time customer, last time going to that garage.
Dropped off my car for a oil change and received a call recommending I have the break oil changed as well because it was very dirty and since, it has never been done! I told them it had just been changed by them in January with the last oil change, I was then told NO i was mistaken because they have NEVER serviced my vehicle! I keep excellent service records on my car because I am from Virginia and only in new york temporarily and will need my records for when, I go back to Virginia. I grabbed my receipt from January and went to pickup my car, I was once again told my car has very dirty break fluid and needs to be changed, I asked if they hadnt done this correctly in January and showed my receipt and asked why they had no record of my previous visit. They proceeded to tell me that I changed my tags (not due to be changed until August) and that is why they didnt know (clearly I had not changed my tags). I pointed out that even if I had changed my tags (which i have not) i had only put 3,000 miles on the car since the break fluid had been changed so why would it be do once again! I was told that its very dirty needs to be changed and 6 months is a long time! This service was supposed to last 30,000 miles but whatever paid my bill told them I would not be back! Came home checked my break fluid and guess what?!? Fluid is clear!!! WOW! What a bunch of crooks and to act like I changed my tags and thats why my car needs a break fluid change!?! I may be a woman but I do know car maintenance and will not be taken advantage of!
Every time we need vehicle work done we always use this Mavis. Rocco, Justin andCharlie did a great job, as always!! I never feel pressured and I feel I am given the information I need to make a good decision. They also handle any of my skepticism very well. If you do encounter a problem or error they take care of if immediately.I would recommend anyone to this service center.
The “sales manager,” Sal, was rude and condescending when we told him we couldn’t afford to do the $1800 of recommended work all at once. We were debating between two types of tires and opted for the less expensive of the two and they still put on and charged us for the more expensive ones. They use pushy sales tactics and are unprofessional and inconsiderate. The only good thing I have to say about the experience is that the woman at the front desk was very nice and the work was done quickly. From now on I will make the hour ride back to my hometown to go to a mechanic I know and trust.
I made a web appointment for a NYS inspection at 10:00am. I received a call from the store that morning to confirm & was told 10:00 was available when l asked for it. I arrived a little before 10 & sat in the waiting area for over an hour before my car was even put into the bay. If 11:00 was a better time for my appointment, that is what I should have been told on the phone. I was not given any kind of apology when I pointed this out. Terrible customer service.
Terrible place to go ! They have no respect for people’s property ! I went in for a nys inspection for 2:00 appointment made and everything , 45 minutes goes by and my car is still sitting in the parking spot. As I stood in the waiting room watching them work , they are throwing peoples wheels on the ground, kicking their air hoses around hitting people’s cars and just being reckless with costumers property. So I went to the counter and asked for my key back and explained why I wouldent let them touch my car . They were very rude and miserable . I will never be bringing my car there and won’t be referring anyone I know to them. Mavis corporate Should clean house and get real professional mechanics with good people skills . And to be clear the mavis I am talking about is the one in Milton just off of Rowland street, next to Hannaford .
I had an appointment yesterday at 2pm that was already paid for. Upon arriving I was told that they are currently 4.5- 5 hours behind. I didnt want to wait and asked if I could come back tomorrow. Was told if im able to come in when they open that Ill get right in. I arrived 20 minutes after they opened and they didnt pull my car in for 2.5 hours, while pulling in non waiters ahead of me after reassuring me when I got here that there were only 2 waiters ahead of me, 30 minutes a piece. I had to remind them to work on my vehicle. Theyre understaffed, and clearly underqualified for the work load that theyre taking on. Im still in the waiting room, that doesnt even have coffee. What a joke
Ballston spa location Tried to get work done Saturday was told make a appointment for Monday because they where busy so I made a appointment for Monday Showed up early for my appointment basically told I would not be helped and they would not reschedule my appointment for they are no longer taking appointment I had work done here recently and I believe that is the current problem with my vehicle all I wanted was for them to check it. Long time customer had to leave store never plan on going back terrible terrible experience going to another garage if they find that work u previous did is faulty I’ll be back expecting a refund for last service.
Had a 9:30am appointment, car didn’t get in til 11:30 due to employee infighting including f bombs audible to customers, charged me $15.99 for 4 tpms valve stem replacements, dirty originals still on my car, so that was a false charge and manager offered a $5 discount off bill if left positive review before car came in... I didn’t accept.Summary: Poor experience, I’d never go back. I am a former DMV Supervising Investigator in NY. Can’t recommend them- rude behavior, fraud and deceptive, unethical business practices. Beware.
This is the worst store with very poor customer service! Made an appointment the day before for oil change and reserved tires that they said they had 4 in stock. Then showed up at 10:30 am next day and they took people in front of me without appointments. Then we waited until 8:00 pm Sunday night only for them to finally call and say they only had 2 of the tires. Then went to pick car up after complaining to the lady at the counter and they said they didn’t even do the oil change. Why bother making appointments if they are going to take walk ins before me? Very frustrating experience!!
Prices are cheaper the wait is a long time and staff seemed to get no communication from Management. We went in to have our snow tires taken off. The mechanic had our car hood up and all 4 doors open for about 10 minutes. So finally I spoke to manager and asked if he knew what was supposed to be done to car. He walked out to mechanic and then closed car hood and doors and jacked car up to take tires off. Scary.
I’m very disappointed. I have been coming to mavis since I moved to the area and have been satisfied with the service. I made an appointment for a basic oil change this evening and was told it would be at least two hours. I came Back an hour and 45 mins later and my car was still in the lot. I waited 15 min and it still wasn’t brought in so I got my keys back and left. I’d understand this if I didnt have An appointment but i had One. I’m very disappointed and won’t be returning.
The WORST experience I have ever had. First, I was there all day one day and it took 3 hours for them to get my car in the garage. Once it had FINALLY been taken, WOOPS they figured out they ordered me the wrong size tire. I had to go back a second time and left my car in the drop off overnight. I headed back there at 3 pm the next day only to find that my car had not even been taken yet. An hour and a half (technically a day and an hour and a half later), the tires were on. I go to check out, it turns out this time they ordered me the wrong version of the tire I wanted. Instead of paying $100 per tire, they were $148 per tire. I argued and the manager Ryan (who was very nice) just happened to be caught up in this mess since he is the manager, discounted me the installation. I contacted the Regional Manager who was extremely rude and condescending and of NO assistance. I tried to negotiate to pay the price of the tire that I THOUGHT I was paying for in the first place. Absolutely not. My husband had to take the car BACK to Mavis only an hour after the snow tires had been installed to have them removed and a refund given. I have contacted the owner of the company and expect to hear back from him later this evening. What a cluster. If they tell you it is going to be a while….plan on at least 4 hours. Go to the Latham location…..
My son needed his brakes done...quoted a ridiculous price today. Also some nonsense about a battery issue, quoted another ridiculous amount. Its my sons first car and he now knows where NOT to go. Very unprofessional behavior. Using bad language. People have the right not to be ripped off. I would never recomnend this place.
They have an online scheduling service that they completely disregard. I scheduled a simple NYS inspection and showed up at the appointed time. The man working reception said that I would have to leave my car because there were other cars ahead of me. I said I made an appointment for 4 o’clock and showed him the appointment confirmation on my phone. He responded that there were 16 other cars ahead of me, and they all had appointments. I said “I don’t think you understand what an appointment means.” After that, the employee in question, a short, middle-aged, balding, white man became rude. Neither you, nor I, nor anyone need to take any sort of disrespect from that sort of person, or that sort of business.Take your business to people who will actually appreciate it. And Mavis, don’t have an online scheduling service if you’re not going to use it properly - I would have been fine with calling in and being told it was busy.
Lost my custom valve covers. Did not offer to replace them. They couldnt even program my tire pressure sensors correctly. They acted annoyed by my presence even after spending over a thousand dollars and being uncommonly polite as well as understanding. Avoid if you can.
These gentlemen are hardworking, know their jobs cold, and have a great sense of humor. Vishnu, Charley and corey all worked as a team to get my bald tires off my truck and new ones back on very efficiently. I hardly noticed the time passing, being able to maintain a fun conversation with them at times. I think the tire price was fair...theres a lot involved besides the cost of the tires. I would recommend these people for just about anything they take on, and will definitely be coming back!
Lou and sal are tops in my book they run a tight ship ! The crew at this shop are top notch efficient and quick to diagnose and repair youre ride. I would highly recommend this shop as my go-to mavis location its a lot further than 2 other stores but I feel its worth the extra mileage and time thanks guys
Would NEVER go back here.... we called about getting a steering rack replaced... we were told that they could do it and ordered the part and drove 1hr 40min to this location.... when we got their the mechanic said their was nothing wrong with our steering rack even though my car was wandering all over and clunking in the steering....and felt it would be a waste of time and money to replace it.... so we left and got a second opinion at Firestone in Glens Falls and wouldnt ya know.... our steering rack was indeed BAD! They fixed it and my car is sooooo much better now...feels like a new car! So glad I didnt trust Mavis.... because thats mine and my kids lives put at risk with a steering rack that was indeed bad that they claimed was fine! Wouldnt recommend anyone to go here! Especially when it can put your life at risk with a unsafe car and non trustworthy mechanics!
Don’t waste your time. They don’t actually follow your appointment. Made an appointment for 11:30, dropped truck off at 11; came back at 12:45 and the truck had not moved. Guy at the desk tried to play dumb. Quoted price seemed good but my time is worth more than a couple bucks. Won’t go back.
I’ve had my tires as a first time purchaser from Mavis for approximately 2 years. First time EVER in 9 years of owning the car that I can’t put air in my tires or monitor my own tire pressure as the valve stem is too short. Mavis has not taken care of the issue. When I have the tires rotated they DO NOT ensure the tires are properly inflated. I have had to deal with their ineptness, hence low tire pressure, in the dark, the freezing cold etc. They have run out of opportunity to prove they deserve my business!!!
I made an appt for 10am, get there 10 mins early and get told we have a 2 hour wait, and ask if I can leave the my car um no thats why I made an appt for an inspection that probably takes 15 mins. Ive been here before and waited 2 hours for an oil change I guess I should of known better.
Update 12/1/2014I recently moved, and decided to try this location again, working with a manager named Rocco. I had a much better experience this time, in line with my previous experiences at the Latham location.Once again, Mavis noted issues with the vehicle that I was already aware of, and Mavis was able to put together a reasonable plan to fix these issues. A few weeks after the work was done, I am happy to report there are no issues.Based on this, I am pleased to change the review from 2 stars to 4 stars.****** Previous review **********Just a little background.. I purchased snow tires from a different Mavis (Latham, NY) last year, and had a great experience. I was looking to swap the snow tires back on this year, so I decided to go to a closer Mavis location..I called ahead to see how busy they were, and to make an appointment. The gentlemen on the phone was a little short with me, but who knows maybe he was just busy.. After being told they werent busy, and making an appointment, I drove down there..The person at the counter was not the person from the phone call, and he was short with me again.. Maybe I am having a bad day, but both of these guys were borderline rude.. Oh well, I am here, lets do it.. Long story short, I waited an hour, and they still hadnt even pulled the car in yet.. What was the appointment for again?I am very happy with the pricing of Mavis, the advice I received when selecting tires, and the quality of the mechanical advice/inspection I received at the Latham location. I did not let the Ballston Spa location work on my vehicle, and I will not be returning there.
Went looking for tires to replace the originals on my Escape. Searched the web, called local shops and ended up at the Mavis shop in Milton/Ballston Spa. FANTASTIC!!!! Manager Ryan Davis is knowledgeable, pleasant and just great to deal with. Got a great deal, but more importantly the work was done well and the car drives like new.
Went here after had a horrible experience from the one in Saratoga and well I guess they are all run the same. Went in for a sound in the front end. Told them to check something in particular and they confirmed that was the culprit and repaired it for me (right hub bearing) I also asked him to make sure the truck was in decent shape as far as going down to Long Island with it. He said it was actually really in great condition. Im going home and well sound is still there and had someone else look at it and told me it was the opposite sides hub bearing and the reason why I suspected the other side was a bad ball joint that was close to failing. The guy I brought it to afterwards said I shouldnt be driving this at all. (So much for a safe drive to Long Island) I contacted their main office and their resolution was to offer 15% off the new hub bearing and ball joint. Great. So I would be charged almost full price for something you didnt get close to fixing the first time? What a waste!
Went to this Mavis location due to recommendation, and was very please with the customer service. the place was clean and the shop employees treated my jeep like it was there own. I am over a half hour away from this location with other Mavis locations closer. yet I would go back to the Ballston spa location before any of the others. I surly will be passing along my good experience too others!
Recently my sweet husband agreed to take our 11 year old daughter and 3 of her girlfriends to see Saturday matinee.Between points A and B I ran over some kind of lung nut which was about to make my tire go flat. We have road side service however going 45 mile south to fix a tire would mean the girls would miss the movie. I called Mavis they said come right over. I had 45 minutes to get there and back ( ONLY A 3/4 MILES DRIVE EACH WAY) and get the tire fixed. They were awesome! I left there with a plugged tire 10 minutes to spare. The crew was fast, pleasant and very affordable. The girls were on there way in plenty of time. MAVIS SAVED THE DAY!!!
Told me i needed repairs on suspension parts that i had just got done. Took it back to a different mechanic and he showed me all the new parts that i had repaired, be careful if parts look new they will try to tell you that you need a repair and then not perform the repair
This place is absolutely horrible. Came in with an appointment yesterday to find out they were 5 hours behind. Not waiting i came back today in the morning as they opened upp. 2 hours have gone by and my car is just now being lifted. Does it really take that lond to change some tires?? What a Joke
Horrible, I will not be returning. My tires were mounted and aligned wrong twice. I had my sensor changed in one of my tires and now having reoccurring problems due to the person who did it. Not to mention leaving after having four tires put on and my car going to the right and wouldnt drive straight. Never again.
This place is horrible! What was suppose to be a one hour job turned into 5 hours due to the attitude... the other guy will fix it. 10 workers took their time without consideration of me the customer. Most of these guys are a bunch of lazy immature kids, including management. They do next to nothing but just stand around talking, chatting on the phone, eating, or just just plain slacking while your car is up on the lift without any attention from anyone. This place deserves a complaint to the corporation. STAY AWAY!
I went there to get my vehicle inspected and they told me they couldnt because I needed to pay them for some work to get done so they could pass my vehicle for the inspection however it didnt need it to be done and also inaddition they were going to charge me an arm and a leg to me over $300 is exceptionally expensive because of the COVID 19 pandemic so I obviously dont have that kind of money and I applied for a credit card and I was denied so that was a waste of my time so with that being said I give them 1 star for being polite to me but I will not ever go back there and I dont recommend this place to anyone else

2022-04-24Steer clear of these scammers. Tried charging me $400 for a weld the five year old could do better on. The job was not complete there was pinholes and exhaust fumes leaking back into my car after I left the property it took me another three days to find someone at a reputable muffler shop to correct the issue properly. Who ever is touching torchers there needs to not be performing garbage work for the public.

2022-04-12Fantastic service. I swung in for a brake issue and these guys were able to get me right in. They fixed the issues and were excellent in customer service. They advise on the price ahead of time so you can make a decision. I will be bringing my business back to this location when needed. Great job Mavis team!

2022-01-07Able to get an appointment for an inspection very quickly. Staff was very courteous and premises were very clean. Recommendations were made about the maintenance of my car but was not pressured about getting those things done immediately. I truly appreciated that!

2022-03-05Love this place! I’ve never bought tires here, but have ended up here on weekends when my usual mechanic is closed for urgent stuff, had brakes and inspection done here as well. Super fast, super nice, very organized! Realistic time quotes as well. I might start coming here for more regular service visits, to be honest! Highly recommend 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

2021-12-17We have given thousands of dollars in business to this location but they won’t be getting another penny after our last visit.Dropped my car off Friday evening for a Saturday morning (11:00 a.m) appointment for new tires and a state inspection. Never got a call on Saturday about the status of the vehicle and had to call Sunday morning to check on it. Long story short is wasn’t ready until Sunday right before close of business(5:00p.m). The major issues came after I got my car back. The next day I immediately noticed drivability issues that did not exist prior to my appointment. There was shaking and instability when I was driving. I brought the car back on Thursday to find out that the air pressure in the tires was too high and they were not properly balanced. I was also told that there was now a leak in my right front c/v shaft. My car is just about 3 years old with less than 30k miles. My family is supposed to be going on a cross country vacation next week with this vehicle and now I’m left with a car that has to be serviced for an issue that did not exist prior to my appointment last weekend nor was it disclosed after a state inspection was performed.I’m sorry to see a reliable shop go in this direction…

2022-05-20I never leave reviews nor return things , saying just to show I Have a tolerance for things not working out. I brought my car and left it to get all new tires. They also ended up replacing a rod. When I picked it up I drove it home and did not drive for couple weeks. I live like 2minutes away. Once I drove it I realized it had little stability when I hit a bump. I thought it must be tires. Soon I realized my esc was not on so I turned it on but the button did not change anything. It was loose to push, as if it was disabled. I called they were super nice and said bring it up there. I did left it with them for a while they called to say sensor was broke and it was not them and another rod needed to be replaced. I ended up looking into how to replace the sensors they say were broke and it turns out you have to take off the tires to get to them. My car had no issues before I replaced tires with them. They said it would cost me $2000. $900 for sensor problem. They know they caused the esc issue.

2022-06-21I was at the shop for a flat tire and Raj who took care was just fantastic, friendly and never stopped smiling. He also lovely dimples. Great service.
